Need to redecorate. Rather dumpy looking and food isn't great.

This is the best Indian Buffet in OKC area. Everything they have is delicious. The wait staff is friendly, kept our drinks filled up. My friend told me that sometimes it's a hit and miss with the food. But so far, I had great experience every time I visited. It's pricey but worth it!

i have no idea why my girlfriend keeps wanting to go to this restaurant, it's far away from our house and the food is just "meh". i only get the chicken masala when i want to grub and am too tired to eat the other stuff...i've tried everything here at least once, except the kingfisher beer that they might as well remove from their menu because they have never had them when i come in. it's TOO expensive, another reason i hate going there. with gasoline $ + meal + tip i'm ending up paying around $50 for food i could have cooked to the same caliber from frozen dinners OR just driven to Khazana on May and had a much more decent meal and a staff that's friendly instead of restaurant that has awkward seating that forces me to sit at the back of the seat which leaves about two feet of space between me and my food unless i'm super close to the front of seat that makes me about two inches from my daal and aloogobi stinkin' in my face. but it's good, usually when payday comes around my girlfriend wants to sort of celebrate by going to Gopuram and i just figure i'll at least have the chicken masala and life won't be so bad.

For the price, this place rocks!! Great service. I love the selection at the buffet. If nothing on the buffet is appealing, then ordering from the menu works as well. However, I have always gotten the buffet. To wash all of the good food down, a mango lasse is my favorite. I try to visit this place every week when I am there.

  • Jordan S.

Maybe 2:30pm during the week isn't the best time to hit the lunch buffet. I found the selection to be bare and lackluster in spice. Service was somewhat pleasant, but not overwhelmingly friendly like Taj on the NW Expressway. They have a large dining room with a few additional private rooms. Lots of cool photos of Indian temples throughout. About 10 of the 15 other customers I saw while visiting looked to be Indian themselves. There was even a group of 5 college-aged Indian men taking photos in front of the restaurant, as if to say. "Look, we visited the famous Gopuram in Oklahoma City!" Buffet prices were very reasonable. $7.95 for lunch. I didn't feel like I overindulged. But, I was not hungry for the next 18 hours. I felt so full. Do they stuff their food with Hoodia? I had no appetite later that day, and could barely force myself to drink water, I felt so full. My wife was doubled over in pain later in the evening and felt very sick that night. So, like David S. said, go when it's busy, maybe you'll have a better experience.

The food was delicious - but I thought it was way too expensive.

I have tried their buffet and they are good for a change. The location and sitting arrangement is great to have a family-friends lunch or dinner.

Very good Indian buffet in OKC! The staff was very nice as well. They will walk around and give you the freshest naan or chicken out of the kitchen even though this is buffet style. From Yelp, it seems like this is the best Indian food in the area. I'll probably have to agree.

  • Cliff C.

We had the pleasure of dining here on a recent trip and this has been a solid spot to dine for years. Both the curries and rice dishes get plenty of love from us when we are here. Pretty good for okc...

  • Luke L.

Best indian food in the city. Go for the buffet and try everything.

    (5)
  • Lisa C.

AWESOME lunch buffet! I've never been for dinner but I'm sure it's just as good. The food is always hot, the naan is great. I could go for a little more spicy, but as far as buffets go the spice level is pretty good. I haven't had anything that I didn't like. Their chutneys are excellent, as well.

  • MtnCritter M.

Food nothing special. Unfriendly and rude staff. Chai was awful, tasted like it had perfume in it. Will not return and will warn others. Go to Khazana instead.

  • Tyng L.

Gopuram is our go to place for indian curry fix, but other than curry everything else are pretty good too. Friday night is belly dancing night, if you don't like girls shaking their booties in front of you while you are eating, sit in the booth or avoid going friday night totally. If you are out of town and craving for Indian Food, this will be your best bet. There are more food selection than Taj.

Tried this place after several recommendations from friends. Went for the lunch buffet and all in all good food compared to the other Indian places I've tried in OKC/Norman. Quite a few good dishes, a couple of bland ones. Likely going back, probably on the weekend this time... but will probably try some other Indian restaurants in OKC first.

  • Daren D.

I love my Indian curry but I found this place disappointing. The flavor was ok but the spice was non-existent. I will continue looking for a "go-to" spot for my Indian food.

  • Amanda E.

Despite what an earlier reviewer said, I've never seen any problems with cleanliness or food quality at Gopuram and I've eaten there quite frequently in both the afternoon and the evening. Their selection is good, their waitstaff is friendly and efficient, food flavor is excellent, prices are reasonable, and the interior of the restaurant is very pretty. There's plenty of parking and you're always quickly seated also. Like someone mentioned, this restaurant has a solid reputation for quality in the local community and while Gopuram isn't my #1 favorite choice for Indian food in Oklahoma City, it is in my top 3.

  • Anne G.

This place is supposedly the best Indian in OKC. I thought it was pretty good, though the Chicken Marsala was a bit of a let-down. Also, my Chai Tea was really bad. Everything else was good though. Great selection of deserts!

  • Aravinthan R.

This is one amazing restaurant. The best indian restaurant i have ever been to in the states. It is owned by a south indian family and the restaurant has a great reputation in the local community. Its pleasanly decorated and the food is great.typical tasty rich indian food.

  • Vanessa B.

For the most part Gopuram is a good bet. Plan on eating the buffet, I don't even think there's the option of ordering anything else? The service is efficient, the prices are reasonable. The food was pretty average. It's good because you can try lots of different things and go back for seconds, however don't expect to have the best Indian food you've ever had, it's just ok. Oh and they have a belly-dancer sometimes too.

good indian food, but think ajunta is better

Living in Edmond, I am not always a fan of driving down to OKC to get some grub, but damn, was Goporum worth the drive across the turnpike and down 44. I came on a Thursday night with 10 ladies in tow, and the restaurant was absolutely empty. Don't let that fool you, though, because the buffet was ready and waiting. Service was excellent -- they hand-delivered fresh naan to our table as well as chicken skewers. Every thing I tried was delicious. I am not the best at remembering the names of dishes, but believe you me, it was so good. There were some dishes I get at other buffets that weren't available here (again, terrible at remembering names other than that "really tasty yellow stuff"), but overall, I would definitely come back here next time I'm down that side of town.

OKC's very own Jeff M inspired me to update my Gopuram review as much has changed since I last wrote my review. Or maybe because lots has changed since nothing here ever changes. As I can neither be wittier nor funnier than Jeff M in this lifetime, I'm just gonna lay it down straight. - I first came to Gopuram in 2008. "Mind blown. Dayum, good eats. Bomb palak paneer and amazing mango custard for me to ingest by the bucket." - Fast forward || 2011 after getting back from Japan. "Uhh... this place has not changed at ALL." - 2014 || "The curries are getting thinner and food is lukewarm, but I love the hot naan, and I can drink that mango custard sauce by the bucket still." - 2015 || "Guys... when I sit down in the booth and my ass falls through the seat because the cushions need upholstering, maybe it's time to change SOMETHING and invest back into the store a little." Lukewarm curry at dinner time also makes me sigh. I love all of the flavors and the palak paneer here, but most of the time it's been lukewarm. Himalayas has become my go-to ever since they figured out how to make their mango custard sauce stuff (Jeff, what is this stuff called??) about as good. And for some reason, Gopuram decided that at .59/lb (retail) bananas cost too much, so you have to go fishing through the apples to find any banana half the time, which means that you don't win either since I took the only 3 slices left. Deal. Breaker. I'm seriously the worst Indian food-buffet-eater ever when it comes to value since I'm happy filling my belly with bread, rice, curry sauces, two bites of chicken, and mango custard. (This also makes me every Indian buffet owner's dream customer.) While both are inconsistent, Gopuram seems to be more inconsistent of the two, and Gopuram is like Hollywood... in bad need of a facelift if you want to stay in the business.

8 out of 12 Indians agree that this restaurant is best described by a shoulder shrug. I didn't make that up. That's an actual statistic. I counted the Indian(ish) Yelpers that have reviewed Gopuram so far. Only one (out of two positive reviews) thinks it's absolutely amazing. Another two think it's downright terrible. You can do better. You can do worse. Gopuram has a reasonable buffet if you're trying to take someone with limited knowledge about Indian food. We all know the person that I'm referring to. The person who scrunches his (or her) nose and says things like: a. "I don't like Indian food. There's too much [insert spice other than salt or pepper]. It should be creamier and not so spicy. Can we go to Olive Garden instead?" b. "Why is it that color? What's in it? I can't eat it if I don't know what's in it. Can we go to Olive Garden instead?" c. "I love that Naan bread! Let's get some Chai Tea Lattes after. Or how about some Olive Garden?" Go for a lunch buffet during the week. It's busy enough where nothing sits for long periods of time. The selection is average, and it's not as spicy as some of the other Indian joints in town. The customer service ranges from mediocre to above average. Overall the entire experience is... ::shoulder shrug::

Gopuram is my favorite indian restaurant in OKC. The take out I get just keeps getting better & better. They will customize your dishes if you ask them too. I always ask for spicy & it's always perfectly spicy. The Saag Paneer has also improved. Now its the first thing I order! Thank you Gopuram. Your the BEST! I'm sooooo excited for your second location to open at 4401 W. Memorial Rd, Suite 111 Oklahoma City, OK 73134! See you there! Well done!

The food is utterly tasteless. No spice whatsoever -- and I'm saying that as a white girl. As I ate, I had to wonder if all the chefs were white. I really, really don't understand how this place wins awards. It only gets a star from me because it didn't give me food poisoning. My search for the best Indian food continues, but this is definitely the worst Indian food I've had in Oklahoma City to date. I will not be returning. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to eat.

I've been here along with friends on my last day in Oklahoma state. We went pretty late and I guess that's the mistake that we did. Ambience is very nice and in fact excellent for an Indian Restaurant. Welcome was okay. Starters are almost finished and started filling once we entered into dining. But that too not as we wished but just a few quantity was brought to my table to serve. Mutton Shea kabob was very good Vada was okay. Chicken tandoori also nice. Main course is something I was really disappointed as the Biryani is not at all tasty and chicken butter masala was disgusting. Done with those and checked out.

I'm glad I got to head to Gopuram finally after exclusively eating their food at the art festival, of all places. It's always so insanely good that when I had the opportunity to finally eat from the main kitchen, I was very excited. Sadly, lunch didn't compare well to previous experience, perhaps because it was from the buffet instead of made to order. The naan is certainly excellent, and many of the curries were very good as well. But there were too many items a bit off on temperature, or even a bit bland. I also had the classic "hair that did not at any point belong to me show up on the naan," which thankfully only happened at the end of my meal or I might not have gotten my money's worth out of the buffet. So just an average spot; on to Jeff's list for better Indian food in the area.

  • Suhas B.

Gopuram is probably the most Americanized Indian restaurant in OKC. I only tried the buffet so I can't comment on the a la carte items which may be better. All the buffet items had a sameness to it ie the food had the spice level toned down with lots of cream and this was very disappointing for me at least. The service was good and the layout was nice for an Indian place. However, with a buffet that really doesn't represent true Indian cuisine, the only way I will ever be back here is if I need to introduce someone to non-spicy remotely Indian food or to try the a la carte items(with a request for spicy).

Meh, I have had better but this place isn't too bad. We went in ad a group of 10 and there were only 2 other groups there during lunch. We wanted to sit up front in these cute little rooms (they had 4), but they wouldn't let us. They said it would be $20 a person to take our shoes off and sit in the cute room. Oh well, we skipped that. The buffet is the biggest one I have ever been to, the waiter was okay, chia tea was okay..Some of the food wasn't too hot, a little warm. Maybe we just came at a bad time? I do want to try again and I'll update then.

We came in for a weeknight dinner recently, and I guess the best way to put it is we were underwhelmed. First of all, I think maybe it is better as a lunch place? Perhaps during lunch the food goes so quickly it is being replaced more frequently and you can up your chances of getting hot, fresh food? Admittedly, we came a bit later - so much later there was only one other group in the restaurant, and there were definitely a few things that had been out for a while. The food was very good, albeit a bit lukewarm, and the young man who got our drinks was nice. Seeing our naan was cold, he came back from the kitchen a few minutes later with some that was much better. You can't ask for a better selection. Overall, it is also a bit expensive. I think they have to charge a lot to make up for the people who really take advantage of the all-you-can-eat, but I got one plate, and then got a tiny bit more masala. I'll report back after I've had a chance to try it for lunch.

I always love to smell the spices. It's always nice to eat a buffet that taste great and has a variety of food. The staff is always bringing around something fresh to try and are on too if their service.

I have tried to get over to try Gopuram but it has not worked out. I was pleased to find they had a booth at Festival of the Arts. Now, I know that eating at the restaurant will be different than the booth at the festival, but I was thrilled to try their food and visit with the restaurant owner. They served a Gopuram plate with a selection of their favorites. Everything was very tasty and enjoyable. I now am even more determined to get to the restaurant to try the real deal.

I am so fortunate to know about Yelp and have friends from Yelp that led me to wonderful places like Gopuram Taste of India. I'm not quite going up to 5 stars for them yet because I've only had them once so far, and service was good but not great. The food, on the other hand, was incredibly yummy. I say I only had Gopuram once, but I guess the truth is I've sampled some of their food at the Art Festival before and thought it was amazing there. It is even better in the restaurant. The buffet seemed to be the way to go, considering the variety of choices and the fact I wasn't sure what I would like. All of the food seemed to be at the appropriate temperature (an extremely important thing at a buffet), and I saw them refilling several of the entrees. The chicken tikka masala had excellent flavor and had me going back for seconds. There were several vegetable entrees that had amazing flavor with the veggies cooked perfectly. The fried spinach (sorry, can't remember the official name) was super yummy. The server brings naan bread to the table for you along with tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken has an excellent spice on it that builds as you eat more. Definitely recommend trying it. There is a separate buffet area for all the sauces they have available for the naan (and I guess whatever else you want to dip in it). There were only a few items from the buffet I didn't care for, but it was all cooked well. I didn't necessarily love everything. For example, the lentil doughnut they suggest as an appetizer was a little too strange for me. But most of it was great. Service, as I said, was just "good" instead of great. We were seated quickly, received our waters quickly, and at the end of our meal we received our check quickly. But everything in between the beginning and end (the "middle" I think it's called?) was mixed. I think it may just be that they try to let you enjoy the buffet, but I would have liked to see the guy with the tandoori chicken at least once more or have someone stop by that I could have flagged down for more chicken. The decor and music are all Indian themed and it is fun to look around and just take in the atmosphere there. I will definitely be returning to Gopuram Taste of India for lunch!

Best Indian food we have had since leaving the East Coast a few years ago. Each dish was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the sauces had just the right amount of sweetness and spice. I'll be back next time I am in OKC.

Authentic? I'm not Indian, nor have I had any Indian friends who have cooked for me, so I'm not going to be snooty and pretend I know. Good? Yes, it is. The buffet actually had plenty to choose from, even though it looks small. I don't think every buffet is required to be the length of the building or span 10 tables. As for service, my water was constantly refilled, and that's saying something because I downed it pretty fast. I ate a handful of things, but that's not all that is offered here, so keep that in mind, I suppose: * Potato masala 3/5 * Spinach pakora 5/5 (hard to go wrong here really) * Paneer butter masala 5/5 * Upma 4/5 * Naan bread 5/5 * Rice pudding 3/5 * Mango pudding 3/5 (this might be better suited for those who like mango more than I do) I'll likely be here again when I want Indian food since it's the closest option to my home, and it was well worth it.

Decent buffet spread for the price. Desert options are really good. I wouldnt call their biryani the best in okc. Curry items are strictly ok. Not a bad place at the same time not great.

This restaurant is wonderful! We love it so much we go there all the time. The food is great and the chai tea although it takes a while to come out is great too. This is easily _the_ best restaurant in Oklahoma City.

  • Nigel P.

Gopuram has great variety and great mango custard. That's about where its strengths end. Although I enjoy eating here because it's fun, it completely fails at the standard Indian buffet staples. The Navratan Korma tastes like cream of broccoli and the Palak Paneer tastes like frozen creamed spinach. However even with these hilarious failures, it's still worth the meager cost to eat there. I stop by occasionally.

Man this place is great!!! I did not expect Oklahoma to have such a great India buffet. The interior is beautifully decorated with India decor, colorful drapes, and even a fire place in the middle. It's nothing you would expect at an Indian buffet in the middle of freaking Oklahoma. The food was fantastic. It had all my favorites like butter chicken (Tikki Masala), palak paneer, goat curry, yogurt sauce, unlimited fresh naan, and then way more... I even got to try some dishes I never had before which was definitely a plus, such as the "Fruit in mango" custard dessert. I'm not a sweet's kind of person either but I had to "Try it" three times (don't judge!). The only small complaint I had was that the chicken in the Tikki Masala was a little dry but I think it's because they use chunks of white meat instead of dark meat like other places I dined at. None the less, it was still good, especially with fresh naan in the creamy red gravy! The service was also fantastic. The people working there were friendly and tentative. My glass of water was never left empty for long and my finished plates were promptly taken away. With great food, a wide variety, and tentative service, I was expecting my lunch total to be well over $12. To my surprise though, my total came out to only $8.94 after tax. I definitely tipped them well. A buffet of this caliber in Houston would run you around the ball park of $13 per person not including tip.

A couple of my friends had been talking about going to Gopuram for belly dancing night LITERALLY for years. We finally decided to make it happen last night. I used to go to Gopuram quite a bit a few years back, but I moved over to KhaZana as my Indian joint of choice for quite a while. Lately, I've been visiting Taj for sheer convenience to my home and work. So, a visit back to Windsor Hills was a bit nostalgic. Gopuram is a nice space. The main dining area is pretty mundane, but there are auxiliary spaces that are nice and intimate for groups, and there's a back room for events. That's where they also have the Fridays belly dancing. We buffeted it, which is typical for me and my friends. We're all big Indian food fans, and we like a variety of selections. Gopuram has a nice selection of things that you don't see on other Indian buffets (tonight I saw Goat Curry, Okra Masala, Eggplant Masala, and other nice surprises). Downsides were an inability to keep enough naan on the line, and a non-existent salad section. Also, the chutneys and relishes were minimal in variety. The flavor of everything was very good. The chicken biranyi was wonderfully flavorful. I've come to judge Indian restaurants on their biranyis rather than their masalas. The biranyi requires more sophistication with spices and preparation, IMHO, so when I find one that's well executed it makes me happy. The masalas were all tasty, although I would have preferred quite a bit more heat. One of my favorite things about Gopuram is their gulab jamun. Gulab juman are balls of dough made from powdered milk, deep-fried like a donut, then soaked in a sugar syrup flavored with cardamom. Each bite is like eating a bite of floral sugary heaven. Gopuram also has soft-serve vanilla ice cream. Combining the two is an over the top experience. The one criticism, however, is that gulab jamun are normally served warm, and the ones being served last night were room temp. Still, pretty darned good. Overall, Gopuram is a good place to go for Indian food. The belly dancers? It was fun. The ladies doing the dancing are very good, and they train at a studio across the street that gives lessons. However, after an Indian buffet, my recommended course of action is laying down with my feet up, so I was distracted. Still, fun time with good food. Recommended, if only because there's no real reason not to do so.

We have had the buffet dinner several times in the past year, and have never been disappointed. The food at dinner time was especially fresh and they have specials and vary the buffet menu from time to time. The mango lassi (fruity yogurt drink) was the best I have had anywhere. The service is good, and the ambiance veery pleasant.

The food is decent, but not great. It's better than some other Indian places in the city. The buffet caters to the American palate, so don't expect spice or complex flavors. They have a buffet the entire day, and you have the option of ordering from the menu. The carrot halwa, malai kofta, okra, mutter paneer, paneer tikka masala, potato curry, navratan korma, spinach pakora, and the fish kabobs are the best things from the buffet. Something I hate about their buffet is that the food is never hot, it's cold to lukewarm. I don't understand this because they do replace the food frequently. Service is always good. If they run out of naan in the buffet, they usually bring it to your table.

My friends and I had the lunch buffet here and it was great! I was a little concerned that they might not have a wide range of vegetarian choices, but they had PLENTY! I liked everything I tried but I can't remember what they were called. Service wasn't outstanding, but it wasn't bad either. Our waters were constantly refilled, which I appreciate. I would definitely come back!

Gopuram is a an Indian buffet with a lovely atmosphere and ok food. The setting is really the star at Gopuram. A variety of tasteful decorations cover the spacious rooms. There is a fire place and the service is prompt and professional. They advertise belly dancing on Friday nights and I'm sure it would be a wonderful way to pass an evening. As for the food, I really enjoyed the vegetable korma. The sign describes the vegetables as Chef-sliced, but I have my doubts. Nonetheless, the curry has hint of sweetness to compliment the flavors of almond and spice that I love in korma. The mutton curry is another nice addition, though you need to watch out for the bones. I also liked the pakora. The batter was light and tasty and they were crispy without being overly greasy. I thought two of the three desserts were delicious. The gulab jamun and the vermicelli pudding are both awesome. I know this is probably some sort of cultural misconduct, but I like to combine the two. Think the honey flavor from the gulab jamon compliments the pudding quite well. I didn't love the mango pudding. The color was a little off putting, seeming artificial, and I just found it somewhat bland. Blandness was also a problem with some of the other dishes. The chicken tikka masala didn't have much flavor, nor did the fried catfish. The okra was ok, but was cold and had lost it's crispness when I had it, it might have been better fresh. I wish the palak paneer had been bland, but it was actually sour. It really reminded me of baby food gone bad. That being said, the fresh naan brought to the table is a nice touch and one terrible dish amongst a buffet where the other dishes otherwise fall somewhere between average and awesome is definitely worth a visit of you're in the area and craving some curry.

This is more a review of my experiences here then one time--its an Indian buffet--I'm sure they have a menu--I have never ordered off off it. It's spicer than most of the other Indian places in the metro area which if that is what you are after then good for you. It's a little too spicy for my taste, but then I have been eating at Taj a lot lately so that might be clouding my opinion. I like Gopuram a lot though and it would be my second choice as it was in this instance. That area is so hard to get to on 23rd st right now though. Honestly, that would be the main reason I wouldn't want to go back. The road has been fucked up for almost six months now. Come on, OKC! Get it together. Anyway--on the buffet--they have your Indian standards with a few variations. I don't recall the variations and I apologize for that. Its been a couple of weeks since I have been there.

This place was pretty fancy and spacious on the inside. There were several chandeliers hanging on the ceiling and a fireplace in the middle of the room. Joy W. and I met for lunch one Saturday afternoon and being the Yelpers we are, we were talking about the food and ambiance and how we'd rate the restaurant. I was impressed with the quality of service we received. The waiters were quick with drink refills and even dressed nicely - black slacks, dress shirt, and tie. I wasn't so impressed with the size of the buffet though. The dining room was very big but there were only two buffet tables. One contained all the main dishes and the smaller one had some desserts. I just felt like there weren't a whole lot of options. Everything I tried tasted ok, but nothing jumped out at me. Some of the food was spicy and it's not indicated on the buffet which one is spicy so that might be a problem for some people.

If possible I would give it zero stars. I decided to give this restaurant a second chance but I think I was right the first time. Worst food ever !!! I ordered a plain Mysore dosa. It was burnt and the powder they put inside smelled of stale coconut. When I voiced my concerns they said this is how they make it and can't do anything about it. The coconut green chutney was extremely sour as if it was old and had gone bad.I don't think their food even remotely qualifies as Indian food.

Gopuram is the standard bearer for inconsistency. However, when it is good it is pretty awesome. There is no longer an owner staring daggers at the waiters and most of the people who worked there have gone on to bigger things (Himalayas restaurant yum!). Big variety, moderate spice level. Tandoori chicken could be better.

It was ok- but not really great. The chicken tikka was ok- but the goat curry was pretty plain. The waiter seated me quickly and brought me a water, but never asked if I would like anything else to drink. He could have sold me a mango lassie or a beer if he had only asked. Atmosphere was superior, and the gulab jamun was very good , as was the rice biryani, but overall I would rate it about average for an Indian restaurant - the buffet style does not lend itself well to outstanding flavors that mark a superior Indian fare. I would out it at three solid stars. No more.

OK first of I'm Indian so I had this craving for some good Indian good all day. I drove down with a friend all the way from stillwater only to be greeted at the restaurant by no one. Seriously that's the kind of welcome you give a guest. Anyways I thought the good might prove to be a saving grace. But alas! The food was cold. When I asked the server to get some fresh food he said that it's just got cold. Duh! That's what I said anyways he then says that he'll get some fresh tandoori chicken but all he did was to reheat the old. Every other item was cold and tasted stale. He also threw the naan on our table and really wanted us to leave. Horrible experience this is my first review and I had to cause this place has given me the creeps on my own heritage and food.

Absolutely delish! The buffet presents a vast selection of choices. It was a symphony in my mouth! I was not a fan of the goat and was disappointed that the belly dancer doesn't come in until later in the evening. Next time we will know!

I was told this was the best Indian restaurant in OKC and it didn't disappoint. Being from LA, with ample authentic Indian restaurants and Indian friends to set me straight, I have a decent barometer for decent Indian food. Happy to say, OKC is well taken care of in the Indian eats dept through Gopuram. This was a great idea from our host, we had about 8 people with us and we were all satisfied. The interior was elegantly decorated with Indian decor, which added to the ambiance. The food was also quickly constantly being replaced and our waiter came around often with fresh naan and chicken tandori. The only negative was that my friend, who ordered yogurt laasi, had to wait about 30 min for it to come out (they kept apologizing and didn't charge). Having an Indian restaurant makes sense in OKC, as meat and potatoes mid-westerners can try dishes they may not ordinarily have a chance to order. I'm really rooting for this place and would gladly come back if I'm in the area. I really liked the chicken masala and their currie dishes here. For the low price and with the amount of variety, it was really a great deal.

Forgettable. Food is ok at best, not bad but you eat there and 30 minutes after leaving, it's like I am full but nothing was actually memorable. Usually I can say get this or avoid that, but wow....I guess if you are hungry for something different? Of course everything seemed to taste the same just a different color or texture....that can't be good, can it? I love trying different foods, but this seemed to miss the mark. The 80s decor was depressing and made you want to leave. I have never wanted to leave because of the decor of anywhere before, but this was a somber, dim, depressing, almost creepy experience.

I used to live in Oklahoma City and frequented this place often! I was in town recently and had to try it again! I'm no expert on Indian food, but everything I had was amazing!! It looks like they had done some rennovation to the restaurant since I had been there. Everything looks very nice and fixed up. As for the food, well.....I think it speaks for itself! The buffet is full of both meat and vegetarian selections. The lemon rice is really good! They had an eggplant masala that was out of this world! And there is also a nice dessert bar. I give a 5 star rating because this is by far the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to! Love it!

I am not prone to trying foods that are as adventurous as Indian but the wife got me to try it on a belly-dancing night. It was so surprising. The bread was incredible, I could fill up on it so easily. The (and please forgive any spelling errors...) chicken tekamasala was to die for! The fire roasted chicken was very tasty as well. For dessert, I tried the little sugar balls. They were amazing. The buffet was excellent as it had so many different choices! Add in the belly dancing on special nights and you have an instant party! They also have theme rooms available that are simply beautiful. I visited India for work and was so surprised that the food at Gopuram had food that tasted better, richer, and more flavorful! Love this place and we have used the catering, 5 stars all around

Indian food was calling me one Saturday afternoon. I made the trek into unfamiliar territory. My GPS almost guided me in the wrong direction, but I have spidey senses. Oh yes! They guided me in the right direction. This little jewel is in a shopping center with Crest. The exterior looks a little crumby, but when you walk in it's like a whole new world. They have a really cool private seating area made for VIP's I suppose. The buffet area is all the way in the back of the establishment. The booths are cozy and tall enough for privacy. Himalayas should step up their interior design because Gopuram has is going on in that department! The food wasn't as appealing to me though. *sigh* They had a variety of food options and kept restocking the tandori chicken and naan bread. Things that were suppose to be hot spicy were mild enough for me to eat. I didn't really care for the tiki masala chicken because it seemed to be lacking some sort of spice. It tasted just a little off. Ummmm.... And ya. The other dishes were just OK. OK to the point that I don't really remember them that very well. Surprisingly, the cat fish nuggets were quite good. Lunch will set you back a little over 10 bucks. Worth a try :)

This buffet impressed us with its variety of dishes including appetizers, chutneys, and desserts. The service was excellent. Fresh hot naan and pakora was continually being replenished on the buffet. Some of the offerings included: chicken tikka masala, spinach and potato pakora, palak paneer, chicken curry, tandoori chicken, fried fish, eggplant, vegetable korma, chicken biryani, saffron rice, dahl....to name just a few. We wish that the food was more spicy but imagine that most Oklahomans can't handle too spicy a meal. So, at least there was hot sauce on the buffet to allow us to increase the spice level of our food.

I'm Indian so I KNOW good indian food, trust me. This place was...alright. It's a buffet with random choices, not the typical indian dishes that you see at restaurants good for those newbies but you kinda have to know what you like already. They had a good amount of veggie options so that was a plus and their chicken was really good. They had a good variety at the dessert table so I was happy about that! I also ordered a mango lassi but it wasn't that great, I've had better. It tasted strongly of mango puree, so artificial. The wait staff was super friendly and helpful though, they brought us out more naan when we asked for it. This might be a good place to host an event/party. They have these big areas sectioned off with tables and chairs for private events. They looked really pretty and cool cuz they were decorated beautifully and very ornate royal indian furniture! I would definitely have a friend's bday dinner there and rent one of those rooms in the future. It was kinda expensive though, not really worth the money when I have mama's homemade food at home lol

Best Indian restaurant in metro area. The buffet is actually really good! They walk around with a basket of fresh naan and tandoori. They have great condiments like the mint chutney, pickled lemon, raita, tomato onion chutney. I really enjoyed the experience. Great atmosphere and wonderful fire pit and decor. Recommended!

Gopuram is a very nice and elegant Indian restaurant, never thought I would find this kind of quality of Indian food in Oklahoma City! The buffet is reasonably priced ($8-10 range) and has all the classics that you would find at a traditional Indian buffet, the decor of the place is very nice, they have these interesting booths that I assume are used for parties and special occasions, they also have a very nice fireplace to keep you warm during the winter time You get a lot of nan bread too and the waiters/waitresses come around a lot to serve you water and bread along with your meal

I am not a fan of buffets of any variety. Most the time the food is left out way too long but this place is the exception. The food was well flavored and very authentic. The mint chutney was a real treat. If you are in the mood for good Indian, this is the place for you

Hello amazing decor, I want a fire pit in the midst of my house! The naan they bring our fresh & offer tableside is amazing. I am a curry freak and this place filled my niche. The fish was a no for me but the Jasmine rice was superb. I hate to say this but being preggo & coming to Gopuram where I eat (without utensils) like I'm on death row is almost sinful. I eat their dishes at OKC functions, festivals & fairs. I mean I love cardamom and lentils in any dang thing!

Incredible buffet. Better than most ala carte indian restaurant. A few tips from the owner's son. Chicken biryani is made to go with raita. Took a good dish to SUBLIME! Take a dessert ball and put it in their mango dessert pudding. With apples, and bannanna One dish is better than the next. They also have catfish with Indian spice, I am not a big fan of catfish so I let it pass. Chicken curry needed a little more spice. I did not find the hot sauces until I was enjoying desert. The Eggplant masala was life changing. They were like individual little motivational speakers. Kinda like eggplant parmesan, only better, with no breading, no Italian sauce oh yead and it had this incredible Indian spice. It was perhaps second only to baba ganoush as one of my new favorites for eggplant! Paneer and lentil soup were very good as well. The lentils were cooked away. I do not know if this is the accepted way of making the soup. But it is the second time I experienced this. It tasted delicious, but I missed the lentil texture. The local place I go to the lentils are still in tact. New favorite place for return visit to Oklahoma City.

Not typically what you expect to see when you walk into a buffet; the decor is much nicer than any buffet I've ever been to, and the food isn't too shabby either, I've had better and I've had worse. The service is friendly as well, considering they didn't kick me out after finishing three entire plates of food... Yikes. I only wish I had another stomach so I could have eaten more! Don't judge. Overall Grade: B+

Great lunch buffet. I eat there nearly every week and just can't get enough. Consistently good. The spices and flavors are much bolder than Taj. Taj may have them beat on ambiance, but not by much. This is the best Indian food in the city.

I liked this place in okc for Indian food. The ambience is good and the service is fine. The food is sometimes cold or heated up for so long that it losses its freshness. Though, i there are lot of option and you can always use the better one. I will you should try a little first and than go for more in afternoon buffet to avoid wasting of food.

It's ok. Depressing-looking inside....reminds me of an interior that hasn't been updated for 20-30 years, with carpeting from that hotel in The Shining or something. The food was adequate. Some of the South Indian food (idlis, sambar) seemed less than fresh and like they're better off not including it if they're not going to do it well. The North Indian food was fine, though we're vegetarians and the options (vegetable korma, palak paneer (poorly made)) were up and down. Still, if you're not an Indian food conoisseur and you're just looking for the standards (chicken tikka masala, etc.), this is probably the best place in OKC to go do.

Good food. I'm generally not big on buffets as I don't care to eat what others have sifted through, but I do enjoy eating here. I recommend the tandoori chicken, and naan, but everything is worth a try. You can eat here relatively inexpensively during lunch.

My boyfriend and I were in the mood for some Indian food. We figured we would give Gopuram Taste of India a shot. We called ahead of time and was happy to know the buffet ran throughout the day and at a very reasonable price of $10.95. We were met with a hot fresh buffet line with a large variety of curry dishes, rice dishes, goat curry, tandori chicken, paneer, naan and soups, etc. Everything was full of flavor and tasty. My only complaint was the Chicken Tiki Masala, bottom line...... I've had much better. The flavor was very bland. I would've liked samosas to be a buffet choice, but I guess I can't ask too much at a buffet. They did have spring rolls, but samosas are a staple in my opinion. For my drink I had the chai tea (hot) which was delicious, but on the pricey side at $2.99. My boyfriend got the mango smoothie which was tasty in doses, but would never get it again, especially at $3.99. They also had dessert...the mango pudding was surprisingly delicious...the rice pudding was just ok...needed to be thicker and would have been nice to add raisins or cinnamon to it. Overall the decor and ambiance of the restaurant was very nice for an Indian restaurant, the staff was fairly attentive to our needs and friendly.

Excellent food for buffet, I liked how everything didn't all taste the same like some ethnic restaurants. It was reasonably priced, hot, and they had a great selection of dishes. The chi tea was some of the best I've ever had and it was nice they didn't add sweetener.

Having spent a lot of time in India and being a fan of Indian cuisine, I find the food at Gopuram to be consistent with the food of Southern India. I love it and could eat here everyday of my life. They don't wait on you here like they do in India, but they make that up by having a "European" toilet. All kidding aside, Gopuram is great. If you are experienced with Indian food or not you will be happy with your experience here!

Good selection of vegetarian delights in addition to the classic tandoori, biryani, and tikka masala. Buffet all day every day. Better kheer and gulab jamun than my fave Indian place in SoCal! I'll come here again the next time I'm in OKC.

Hands down best Indian buffet anywhere, ever! ...and I usually only order from the menu. Seriously, if you are in OKC don't miss this place. I just got the bill...$11.00!?! Talk about guilty pleasure.

Great vegetarian selection. Nice banquet room -- we hosted a party for 80 folks in there a few years back and really liked it. The chutney selection there is very good, and the Fish Jalfrezi is to die for. The Bhindi Masala's out of this world.

Very south Indian, spicy and tasty. Slightly on spicier side, so make sure to order less spicy food if you cannot take too much. Reasonable pricing. Must go place. I took a carry out.
