The baked cheese bread was really great. I thought the atmosphere was great, especially for a date night. Harry potter does indeed work there and he was really friendly along with all of the other wait staff.

If I had a choice between Caffe Pranzo and Olive Garden, I would definitely pick Caffe Pranzo. I totally appreciate the fact that this is a small, non-chain business. Having established that, I honestly wasn't overly impressed with my meal when I ate there for dinner. The portabella mushrooms in my dish were barely steamed- basically raw- and it definitely brought my experience down a notch. I've had their veggie sandwich twice as a take out lunch and thought it was good but inconsistent- once it came on a croissant and once on a bun. The staff is pleasant and the atmosphere is nice- quiet with good lighting. A good choice for a first date (where you're more focused on each other than the food).

I really use to like this place but Joe the main waiter and part owner so he says had a really shitty attitude the last time I was there. Sat for 20 minutes at lunch time while he cleared other people's table and never bothered to take our order. I expressed my displeasure with having to wait. He walked behind me and made a smart ass comment loud enough for me to hear. I doubt I will ever return to a place that has no respect for their customers. One thing I look at for service is the level of my glass. There were four of us in the party and only once did one of our party get a refill on their drink. The rest of us finished the meal without anything to drink. The food had water in the bottom of the bowl like the cook had not taken the time to properly drain the noodles. It looks like the reviews have been going down and now I understand why. I hate to see places go down the tubes when I have enjoyed them in the past. Such is life.

Great, original recipe Italian cooking! My wife always orders the Portobello pasta, every time. I've tried the 15 layer lasagna, veal marsala and so many other delicious treats! Desserts are gourmet quality. Prices are very reasonable. Nice wine list-not extensive, but authentic. Cozy, neighborhood ambiance. Local art work. We love everything about the place.

LOVE this place - I can't believe such a classy, intimate Italian restaurant is in my neighborhood and with such great prices! It's always a toss up between here and Papa Dios, also close by, but I love both equally! Caffe Pranzo has great service, food, and prices, and they take the LOCAL OKC card! I shopped at my new favorite clothing store, the Milo and Lily boutique, right next door before they closed, and then walked 3 steps to Caffe Pranzo for wine and dinner with a girlfriend! SO GOOD! And very authentic, if you have been to the Tuscany region of Italy :) Great for dates, and they take reservations.

Great food, wonderful service and great prices! We made reservations and were seated promptly upon our arrival. The hostess greeted us with a warm smile as if we had been here many times before. We were educated on the menu, wine and specials by our waitress, Denay ( probably misspelled...sorry) and not made to feel rushed. We had the seafood pomodoro and the chicken portobello risotto. Both were delicious. The prices were great! The waitstaff are very attentive and quick to please. I will be returning often!

This place seems to be one of Oklahoma City's hidden treasures! When we arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday evening, only one table had guests at it! We were greeted fairly quickly by our server and whisked away to a quaint little table in this lovely establishment. Our server...he was the most knowledgable server of any restaurant I have ever eaten at in my 32.5 years on Earth! No matter what I asked him about the restaurant, he knew the answer at the drop of a hat. He spouted off ingredients at my request. He was super kind and offered great suggestions! Drinks stayed full and fresh. Bread was plentiful, and all the food was so hot & fresh! Everything but the lasagna is made from scratch after you order it, so it is super simple to customize and change menu items to suit your tastes! I assumed this would make for long wait times after ordering but we were served in under 15 minutes with piping hot Heaven on a plate!! There are custom paintings hanging all over the place, for sale. Which I LOVE! I am all about shopping locally & especially like supporting local artists! Tiramisu...it is my favorite dessert on the planet, and this was THE BEST I have ever had! We each ordered a piece...and we COULD have shared and been completely satisfied...but they don't call it a cheat meal for nothing!! I made a happy plate! And a happier belly!!! If you like authentic, hearty Italian cuisine...you would absolutely love this place! It was about an hour drive from our house...well worth it, and we will DEFINITELY be coming back!

My wife and I found this restaurant while on vacation in OKC and I'm really glad we did. From the moment we stepped into the foyer, we were happy with the attractive, but not overdone, decor, the friendliness of the waiter and the taste of the food. Eric, our waiter, was top-notch and the food was really, really good. I highly suggest you give this place a try!

My wife and I were very impressed with Cafe Pranzo. Our waiter was informative and friendly. He (and the chef) even worked with me to build a meal just to my liking. My fettucini sauce didn't exist before I ordered it and was made fresh to order. I love this place. I am looking forward to going back.

Had a groupon and came here to fill my italian craving! I ordered the tortellini (recommended as a meat lover's favorite) and the SO ordered the chicken d'angeli. Food: Tortellini: great tomato sauce, the specific spices in there evades me but the combination of them really go well together with the pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs. The mushrooms make a great addition and the tortellini itself is chuck full of cheese! Chicken d'angeli: the sauce was typical white wine sauce, but the chicken was fabulous! It was lightly breaded with a great flavor. The mushrooms again complement it well. Price: ~$40 for the two dishes AFTER using the groupon, so it is pretty expensive. but the portions are big and the food is great! Service: friendly, and fast

Went here last week and ordered the chicken portobello risotto. It was delish! The mushrooms had great balsamic flavor and chicken was nicely grilled with a hint of lemon. I enjoyed half my portion and took the rest home. My daughters loved their alfredo pasta was surprised they didn't have any broccoli that night but they were able to provide some carrots for my daughter. Our server was very nice and accommodating to our family. My husband enjoyed his tortellini but agreed my dish was better!

This is one of those "gems" among restaurants. They have a wide variety of food and wine, despite their small footprint. My husband and I have been regular diners for a few years now. The food has always been excellent and the pizza is not only thin and flavorful, its a bargain! Be sure to make a reservation for Friday and Saturday nights.

This was the best bread dipping sauce I have had in any restaurant period. It stood out. It has been awhile since I had eaten there, but I remember my experience as pleasantly surprised. Wish I did not live so far away. I would definitely go there again. It does have a European feel, though decor is a little funky, but it is quiet and you can hear the conversation at the table.

I was excited to meet friends for lunch here. Walked in & was welcomed & told to sit anywhere I'd like. 11 minutes later, both waiters had walked by me numerous times, failing to acknowledge us. No water, menu or even a hello. It was obviously a slow day as there were only four other tables occupied the time. As I was leaving a waiter stopped me and asked "are you taking off?" When I had advised him no one had waited on me he simply responded "ok".

Ceaser salad had huge pieces of lettuce, and not sure what type of lettuce they used but it wasn't very good and not properly washed I had a bite that tasted gritty and decided to stop. It was also drowning in dressing. Ordered the risotto for my main course and it was very over-cooked. I would not recommend this place.

I really wanted to like this place more. Good service and great prices. Unfortunately that can't compensate for the very average (at best) food we were served. Cesar salads were pretty tasteless. The pasta was OK but the meatballs were marginal and had been hyped as being fantastic. Can't agree. The summer special was also pretty limited on taste and just didn't hit the mark. Probably worth another try sometime.

Terrible food. Server literally threw bread into our basket. Meatballs had the "cut" of a well done steak. Cheese on the pasta was hard and rubbery when it came out. Sauce was tasteless. I was hungry and only managed three bites it was so bad, and I normally LOVE Italian food. Manager was rude and seemed annoyed that we didn't like our food. It was awful, we will NEVER go back. I wouldn't wish that food or service on my worst enemy. Avoid at all costs.

Like other reviewers, I really wanted to like the place. We went there because we had a groupon. When we got there around 5 very few people were there but it quickly filled up. We ordered appetizers, two different entrees , wine, and dessert. None of it was that good. I am picky, but none of the items stood out. The clams were not fresh, the seafood pasta was in a soupy tomato sauce, the onion and mushroom pasta was swimming in evoo and the mushrooms had absorbed so much balsamic vinegar they were inedible and the onions were far from caramelized (raw). Their "famous" cheese bread was too soft and had little cheese. I didn't even know it was supposed to have cheese until our waitress asked me if I liked the cheese bread. Lastly the creme brulee which is supposed to be served cold with a bruleed top was hot and soupy. After a dismal experience I was so baffled as to why the place was busy. I will say this... the service was good.

Caffe Pranzo, is truly some of the best Italian food I've had since leaving Italy. I lived in Northern Italy for 3 years and sure Nonna's is incredible delicious and deserves a 5 star rating a well if you have a 5 star pocket book, but Pranzo really captures the casual feel of Italian dining along side excellent service and great food and a reasonable price.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
