Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Awesome calamari! The bread sticks are amazing with the Alfredo dipping sauce although some might find it a bit salty. I absolutely love their salad. I could come here just for the calamari because it's that good. The seafood Alfredo is also pretty good if you are craving creamy comfort food.

Very mediocre. The price for what we got was ridiculous considering that it was a worse quality than what I could make at home. Don't get the tour of Italy. The portions are ridiculously small. Not worth the $16.50, especially when you factor in the quality. The only good thing here is the salad. I could eat that for days.

I honestly have no idea why its so hard to get into this place at dinner time, the food is mediocre at best and overpriced. I expected to come in and have my socks knocked off from the delicious food. I was disappointed. The waitress who looked about my age (20s) kept calling me "honey". I would expect that from an older diner waitress but at a place where the entrees run $15+ I would expect a higher degree of class. The chicken breading was mushy and the asparagus was near raw. She did take it off when we told them but said "since you didnt care for it" like we were at fault and they were doing us a favor. Our kid liked the spaghetti but they forgot the sausage and when they brought it to us it was a link so we had to chop it up and remove the casing so he wouldnt choke. I would expect something on a kids menu to be easy for them to eat. When we asked for the check the waitress went on to the next table and began taking their order so we were left waiting. I gave 2 stars because the supervisor came out and comped both entrees when he saw how little we ate and apologized. At the same time this was happening another couple across from us was being apologized to about their meal. Save yourself this experience and go one minute down the road to Carino's.

OG is to Italian food what Chuck E. Cheese is to , well, Italian food. Granted the salad is decent. Unfortunately, it's all downhill from there. I'll spare the blow-by-blow details and suffice it to say that based on multiple trips it really can't get much worse than Olive Garden. Ok, one detail...I bit into a metal piece of the pasta making machine, or something, and wasn't accommodated with so much as a gratis cup of coffee. I don't look for freebies, but a little service recovery should be in order. Other trips, at the insistence of others, haven't been any better.

I came to this OG location with the family as I do with my family when I am in town. Service is never really gold star, but it is or had been at least mediocre. R this last time service and food did not even come close to mediocre. Everything was down right horrible, it took from the time we sat down 30+ minutes to receive bread and salad and roughly the same amount of time to receive beverages. Requested appetizers were not delivered until asked for, for the second time. I could go on but I will just say if you are in the mood for OG take the extra time to to choose a different location.

My friend and I went to this restaurant for lunch. We usually go to the one in Memorial and this was our first visit here. We got the Chicken Parmigiana and Eggplant Parmigiana. Food was ok but not great. Overall, I didn't enjoy being at this place.

First got here and it was very busy. We had all of our food ordered before we ever got drinks and we thought it was going to be a disaster. But...... our server Robert C. pulled it out and it wound up being a decent time! Food was great and we left happy! :)

I love the food. But somehow there is always a wait when you come to eat here. The entire restaraunt can be empty at 5:00 pm and there is a 10 minute wait. The food is like every other Olive Garden, good. But the service is bad.

The ambience isn't nice, I wasn't very comfortable with the seating they gave me, we order bruschetta and they were a watery bland mixed of tomato with herbs in a bowl that had no defined flavor, i order the raviolis and the sauce didn't taste fresh, reminded me of box raviolis over all the meal wasn't very pleasing specially for the crying baby next to what was supposed to be our romantic meal, not very satisfied with my visit

Our server was nice, helpful and polite. But my food was not i had expected at all. .. We go to OG quite often because we like their salad and like Italian style seafood dishes. This time I ordered basil - grilled Salmon w/ broccoli .. Salmon was overcooked burned and was of course very dry.. when ordering this dish be sure to ask them not to overcook

My last experience was almost a year ago, which is about how long it takes me to forget why I don't go back to a bad restaurant. I went with my mother for a Sunday lunch. The waitress brought us dinner menus and left. When she returned, I asked for a cappuccino and lunch menus. She didn't know what a cappuccino was until I found it on the dessert menu. For $5.95, I expected a pretty good cappuccino! She returned with the lunch menus, then brought the cappuccino a few minutes later. Then I realized why it was on the dessert menu. It was covered in whip cream and cinnamon. There was no froth (I suppose the whip cream was supposed to be a froth substitute?). The coffee part was awful. Sort of like warm skim milk with a little coffee flavoring. When the waitress returned with the house salad. I sent the cappuccino back. The salad greens were fresh, but the dressing was salty (!?). We hardly touched it and just had the waitress take it away. I ordered Shrimp Primavera and my mother ordered Eggplant Parmesan. The Primavera was fine, but nothing special. The Eggplant came overly battered (I'm not sure there was any eggplant). Also fair. The memories of my previous couple of trips filtered back. I recalled a Tiramisu that had the consistency of a pound cake layered with frosting and a thick layer of cocoa powder, a salty chicken dish (I think they must douse everything in salt). And this is having eaten there over the period of 4-5 years. If you want something remotely more Italian, I'd recommend Pizza Hut. If you are in Norman, avoid at at cost, and start with Victoria's on Campus Corner. If you must stay on the west side, go to Carino's.

Olive Garden is one of my favorite places! Love their Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip and their salads/salad dressing. The Black Tie Mousse is WONDERFUL! Guess I'm not much of a foodie, but I know what I like! Service can vary from really attentive to being ignored by a snotty waiter, but I guess that's anywhere, right?

The food was great! However the service was seriously lacking. The wait was unexplainably long ( I saw many tables leave before i was seated) and the staff was inattentive. If this improves quite a good chain place!
