Wow! Agree with best Sushi in the Metro. I frequent Sushi Neko and Tokyo in OKC, but sushi here today better, hands down. The Sushi chef sent out some Hawaiian tuna and Tasmanian salmon Nigri that was some of the best/freshest fish I have had in the metro. Excellent food all around.

This is the best place for sushi, I can't find anyplace that compares. Consistently fresh, delicious rolls. Tonight they had fresh Hawaiian fish so we ordered sashimi as well as the special roll. I have a favorite roll here but have never tried a special I didn't like. Full Moon never disappoints.

We had a fantastic experience at Full Moon Sushi. We made a reservation Friday before Valentine's, as our Valentine's date. It was the night of Second Friday Art Walk and Beau Jennings CD release at The Opolis (which we also attended). Nonetheless, we had a full night planned, and Full Sushi was our much anticipated dinner. They held our reservation for us, even though we were running a few minutes late in I-35 traffic. I had called to let them know, but very sweet of them to hold our table, because the restaurant was packed with a wait. Our waiter was awesome and attentive, our drinks, edamame and sushi all came out on good time. The sushi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Everything was so fresh, we were super impressed. I've seen that there have been some poor reviews, and maybe this place is hit or miss. We definitely aren't sushi rookies, and know good sushi when we see it. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about our meal, and service, loved the bohemian atmosphere, and we look forward to returning next time we're in Norman!

This is my favorite sushi place in the OKC area. Rolls are good size and don't skimp on the meat. Price is about average for sushi. They bring out complementary edamame and have good specials from 4-6. Lots of unique rolls lots of which have jalapeño which is different but I haven't had one I didn't like.

I'm not a sushi roll fan, but I have tried some of the nigiri here, and they have a few non-shushi items as well. I go here because my husband says it's the best sushi in Norman, and he can't seem to get enough of it. So what does a non-sushi roll fanatic do? I've been twice, and both times I ordered the pork tenderloin ($14.5). I don't recall the sides the first time I went, but last time I had the asparagus and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were less than nothing special. I'm guessing they came out of a box and had some seasonings mixed in. The asparagus, however, was delicious. It was cooked perfectly with some olive oil, salt, and pepper. Now for the tenderloin... yummy! It had just the right balance of seasonings, and the spicy mandarin orange sauce is crazy addictive. It pairs with the tenderloin perfectly. As far as other non-sushi items go, they have a new york strip, seared scallops, and teriyaki salmon entrees. They also have some soups and salads. I enjoy a bit of nigiri, so I shared some with hubby and had Maguro (Ahi Tuna), Sake (Salmon), Sake Kunsei (Smoked Salmon), and Kani (Crab). I will admit, of all the nigiri I've had in Norman, Full Moon's is by far the freshest tasting. The tuna, salmon, and smoked salmon was incredible. The crab on the other was less than stellar. It had a strong fishy taste to it that I couldn't get over. Additionally, they wrapped a small mound of rice in seaweed, and then topped the mound with the crab. I get nigiri because I don't like the texture and chew of the seaweed in sushi rolls, so I wasn't pleased to find the crab in the nigiri section of the menu was encased in seaweed. I will not make that mistake again! This is a hole in the wall type of place. Nothing special. I don't mind those types of places, but I find the atmosphere of this place to be a bit on the uncomfortable side. Something about it is just odd. The booths are kind of uncomfortable, and the noise level is on the louder side. The staff is great! They are upbeat, extremely knowledgeable, and I love they get excited about their food. They are attentive too. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is beautifully plated as well. Given how fresh the fish is, I see why hubby is addicted. I wish they had a few more non-sushi entree items for the non-sushi eater who ended up married to the sushi fanatic, but it's still an alright compromise from time to time.

I eat here about every other week. I've tried several different things and they are all great. The rolls are flavorful and stay together. The food comes out in a timely manner and the wait staff is great. This is my favorite sushi place in Norman!

I liked eating here fairly regularly when I was at OU. The sushi here is solid, and some of the best you're going to find in the OKC area (which is lacking). However, I like to order the scallops and the crab cakes. Every time. I just really enjoy them, always. The service has always been reliably good. The servers are polite and stay on top of their game (which is a quality that is seriously deficient in Norman eateries on the whole). I want to remark on the ambiance, since a couple reviewers expressed negativity towards it. Look, a lot of sushi joints look and feel exactly the same, everywhere you go. It gets to be cookie cutter. Full Moon is doing their own thing, and I respect that. They're not trying to be something they're not. I like it. It feels authentic.

Expensive but delicious! I wish I would have snagged the groupon when it was available. Service is ON POINT! They are very nice here and the ambiance is perfect. The bathroom is a bit strange. Too dark. But maybe on a Friday or Saturday night or if you have had a couple drinks it looks better lol. On to the food. My boyfriend is constantly trying to burn my tongue off with spicy food. Our visit here was no different. Complimentary edamame which was real good! I had the California roll, a Crunchy Ghost (bf's pick of course), Unagi and the Tuna Surprise. The bf had the teriyaki bowl (chicken) and loved it. I tried it and it was good. I cannot give them 5 stars because my Unagi was just off. It tasted good but the rice and the roll was not done right and it just fell apart - like everywhere! I have had unagi done at Whole Foods that was better than here so that was saddening as I really only usually order that and a Cali roll. So -1 star. Everything else was delish! Costly, but really good.

Full Moon became our favorite sushi restaurant, a couple years ago. And now it's the ONLY place we go to for sushi! I love that they have their own rolls, and not just the regular ones that other places have. It's ALWAYS delicious and the staff ROCKS!

Dinner on Saturday night, 12/6. This place is usually pretty packed on Friday and Saturday nights. This particular Saturday, we got a table right away. Probably because Oklahoma kicked away a victory against in-state rival and heavy underdog Oklahoma State. That was stupid and lame. I'm not a sushi aficiando. I'm a typical Okie when it comes to sushi: put that stuff in a roll with other tasty stuff, an you have my attention. Cream cheese is a bonus. So, "unsophisticated" is my perspective. Two words: MEEK MONSTER. This sucker is legit. I've been to Full Moon probably over a dozen times now, and we get this roll every time. It never fails. So good, and the waitstaff indicates that it is their most popular. I recommend. I also love any of their rolls with citrus flavors. Bright, fresh, delicious. Pretty much EVERY time, the service is on point. Not quite elite top notch or anything, but they do a really, really, really nice job. It's always fun and easy to dine at Full Moon. One of the best-kept secrets in Norman is their sake. It's like $2 or $3 for a full serving of cold sake. It's one of the standard mass-distro brands of sake, but at that price, WHO CARES. It's a really fun gimmick that my wife and I really like. I haven't had better sushi in Norman. And I think this place is locally-owned. What's not to like? DO IT.

The food is fantastic and the service is pretty darn decent. The sushi is artfully prepared and always tastes very good. I love the specials, though I wish they would post them earlier in the day and more consistently. These guys have excellent knife skills and the fish is well-presented. The price is almost high, except there is no competition in town, really, so they can charge as they'd like. They have recently added a happy hour special that is pretty darn decent.

My daughter is new to sushi. We have tried quite a few places. This is here favorite. Great service, good food reasonably priced. Nice that it's in "old norman" and you see a different side of town. Would recommend anyone trying sushi for the first time come here. We will be back when my daughter is in a Sushi mood.

My friend and I went here to taste it and it was pretty dang good! The waiter wasn't good cause we're eating spicy sushi and the only water we have is what was left of melted ice. It was also not that bright inside and it's in a weird location. Lol sushi was ok, I wouldn't choose this place though.

Those are THE BEST rolls I have ever eaten. And I am constantly seeking good sushi and rolls. And the Parmesan risotto, outstanding. Great prices too. Highly recommend.

My husband and I recently dined at Full Moon. We LOVED it! Great atmosphere (cool music, friendly staff) and even better sushi. We were really surprised to find such great, fresh sushi on Main Street, Norman! They had many traditional sushi and sashimi options, lots of original rolls (try the Full Moon Roll or the Zombie Roll!), and quite a few options for people who don't want sushi. We will be back for sure!

Peachy and I went there because the reviews on Yelp were so good, which makes me doubt the taste of sushi eaters in greater OKC. No big surprise there. I'm giving them 1 star because the people working there were nice when we told them our sushi and sashimi were inedible and gross. I don't know who was more embarrassed, us or them. The mood of the place is like a bohemian coffee shop, which is what they should turn it into. Maybe they'll have better luck with coffee than raw fish. This is the first negative review I've written on Yelp, and I'm only doing so in the hope that this place will stop serving horrible fish and passing it off as sushi. They were nice about it and didn't make us pay for the two bites we took, which are now festering in our stomachs like lead.

Worst sushi I have ever had. I left thinking, "I'm an idiot! I'm totally gonna go home and get sick." The worst. Let me repeat. The worst. One more time. The worst. The waitress was super sweet though. So they got one star. For food, if I could dip into the negatives I would. I felt like I was suppose to be getting served coffee and boring hummus sandwiches in there instead.

Good sushi joint. I'd give it five stars, but it seems like it's gone a bit downhill in the last year or so.

  • Danielle M.

I wish I could give this place more stars!!! This was the first sushi I had ever eaten and after a year its the last place I will eat it! Crab cakes are amazing, sushi is fresh and the vegetables and ingredients added are fresh and dynamic. The meek monster roll is the best and trust me we've tried all of them! Entrees are all really good too (salmon, pork). Now that im dieting the bf and I still go every cheat day. Just talking about them makes me want to go now!

As for sushi in Oklahoma goes, this may very well be the best place to hit up. It has a very comfortable atmosphere, very clean appearance, and a menu choice that will leave your head spinning. With so many different rolls available, you may spend half your visit there deciding which suits your taste best. My only complaint was that the service could have been more attentive to our table, especially when you consider we were one of only three tables needing to be waited on.

  • Jason N.

The atmosphere was nice and the staff was exceptional. Unfortunately the food failed. The "rock n roll" roll which was described similarly to a caterpillar roll turned out to be a California roll with bits of el plopped on top and no sauce. The spicy tuna roll was basically a tuna roll with siracha used to make it hot. The yellow fin tuna roll was my hope but it failed too. It was bits of bland tuna drowning in rice. No balance and no flavor. I'd like pto return because the atmosphere and staff are great but the food struggles.

Service is stellar! We were seated within 5 minutes time and the place was packed. The interior is really cool. The ceiling has designer gold paneling and trim that goes real well with the paint color- light sky blue. I wish they would replace the tables and chairs or maybe at least do a DIY to match the rest of the place! As stated by Stefanie in her review, most of the sushi rolls had cream cheese in them. I'm not really a fan of cream cheese and I was really craving sushi. That sorta bummed me out. They did offer us a side of edamame that was lightly dusted with a chili seasoning salt. I found that they like to use that seasoning a lot. All of our dishes had a little sprinkle of it. To me relief, they had a couple entrees that sounded pretty good. The BF ordered the beef tenderloin and I ordered the panko crusted tilapia. You get to choose your own side veggie and carb. We both ordered the asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes suggested by our waitress. Our waitress also suggested sharing an order of rolls because she felt the entree size was small. I actually could have done without the rolls- the entree is actually pretty filling! We ordered the yellowtail sushi. Nice size rolls. Good fish. No complaints there! The asparagus was good. My fish had a nice crunch and the meat was tender and fresh, but was lacking salt flavor wise. I don't always like to dip into tarter sauce, but I had to for this dish- for good reason though. The sauce elevated the flavor of the fish. The onion sauce was bright green and pretty yummy. The potatoes were lacking salt. Both the BF and I weren't fans.

I wish I had more stars to give! I have found MY sushi place. I have always loved Tokyo in OKC but I am in heaven with Full Moon Sushi. Walking in we were promptly greeted and seated. The server was very friendly and exceptionally attentive. My husband and I shared 3 rolls (Thai Dye, Blazin' Saddles, and Crunchy Ghost). All of them were fresh (esp the rice) and SO, SO delicious . The cherry death sauce is my jam. I want a jar of it! Great place, staff, and food!

This is my favorite sushi place in the greater okc area, and I've tried most. The rolls are fresh and creative and yummy! The service is good and there is always a table open. If you want good sushi rolls in Oklahoma- you'll get them here!

If you are looking to eat good sushi. DON'T GO HERE. The sushi was not fresh and was a very americanized version of sushi. I had 4 different rolls. 2 of the rolls were really sub par. The only 2 rolls that I found taste were not even what I would call real sushi. One was a streak roll called the thunder roll and the the other was a verde roll made with green chili. As you can tell neither of those 2 rolls scream Asian sushi. Maybe I have just had great sushi recently and my bar is set pretty high or maybe this place just doesn't serve good sushi. I won't be back even it they had free sushi Friday or something else where the gave the food away.

This is our favorite sushi place in the OKC metro. The rolls are creative and delicious. The "Meek Monster" is my favorite, and we get it every time. The fried gyoza is one of our favorites, and if you like spicy, get a roll with the cherry death sauce! Full Moon always have interesting daily specials and terrific service. It is a comfortable atmosphere as well once you get over the awkward "do we seat ourselves?" moment (and yes, you do seat yourself). Their house sake is an awesome deal as well at $3.00. Love full moon! Only note would be to caution those who want to dine but do not like sushi. Though they have a great selection of fully cooked sushi, their dining options other than sushi are a little bit limited!

Cute place. Very relaxing. The service was fantastic and friendly. Now the food...the rolls had fresh fish but were a little bland. We had to ask for sauce to help with the taste. The Panko crusted pork tenderloin was fantastic. We ate the Devils Advocate (best one), Hercules (ok) and Habanero (very spicy).

I never would have expected good sushi in Norman, but this is actually really good! The rolls are creative and there is something for everyone--even the vegetarian.

this place is WIN! I love sushi, so much i could eat it everyday. I moved here from California so finding a good sushi place here in Norman has been hard. We finally decided to try full moon. We were not disappointed. The staff is very friendly and efficient. It smell ver clean she you walk in, i'd suggest less scented cleaning chemicals. The garlic chive sauce is amazing!! The server we had was really helpful and when we ordered our spicy tuna roll extra spicy he suggested some of their other spicy sauces to put on it and it was a success. The cherry bomb sauce is delis. We ordered 5 different rolls and they were all good. The habenero roll i wish would of been spicier. Looking through their menu they use a lot of cream cheese, It's in almost every roll. I'd suggest finding a new ingredient..lol. But we will be back. The steamed gyoza is AMAZING!!!

  • Boudu B.

Sushi! Was good, we had the momos and two rounds of sushi. Ring of fire was my favorite, due to its spiciness and its layered flavor. The beer isn't cheap but everything was brought out promptly and service was good. Definitely will be back

Habanero heaven and redheaded steptail were awesome service exceptional. I wAs pleasantly surprised as I would not have anticipated such good sushi in Norman Ok

We love this place. We make the one hour drive from our home to Full Moon Sushi at least once a month. It's that good. Great customer service; servers are awesome. Highly recommend the Tokyo rolls and the Devil's Advocate. Their beer is ice cold.

I love Full Moon! Definitely my favorite place to get sushi. They have creative rolls that always taste fresh. I love the blazing saddles. The service is always great as is the atmosphere. Lots of cool paintings on the walls

Love this place! Always get 2 vegetarian rolls: 1 with the cherry death sauce and 1 with habanero mango sauce...so good.

  • Jules C.

This place is a great option for sushi. They have really creative rolls that are pretty tasty. Unfortunately though, their prices are pretty high for Norman, and most of their rolls have cream cheese/are covered with fattening sauces. Still great option!

  • Meghann R.

I tried this and another sushi place my first week in town, Full Moon was my favorite and the prices are much more reasonable. The staff are friendly and we had a nice chat with the sushi chef. They have very inventive rolls and I highly recommend duck appetizer was excellent.

  • Uyen P.

Definitely better than In The Raw sushi. I liked their specialty sushis although it was a bit on the pricier side. Still decent though! And they gave us free edamame as an appetizer.

Very good quality, but the service is at times a little slow. Still--I believe it is the best sushi in Norman.

    (4)
  • Tri N.

I've tried it only once, but it was good. Interior design is mediocre. Service was great. The sushi quality is better than in the raw.
