This place was all around awful experience. We went in on a Tuesday night around 8:00pm. The service was awful and the food was dry and gross. If the server or manager would have asked us how I food was I would have sent it back. Also the server and manager were more intrested with each other than anything else. Disappointing because we live really close.

Decided to eat here despite the negative reviews. They have only been open for two months and have since re staffed the restaurant. Our service was perfect. The restaurant was relatively empty during rush hour and We received our food promptly with excellent service. I would recommend to a friend and to you.

This place is pretty great. Sushi happy hour 4-6 M-F is the best. Although the service is sometimes hit or miss, you can't beat the price. Blows most sushi in Norman out of the water at half the price

Went there for Sunday lunch, which is a treat for us, but unfortunately it was a total waste of a dining experience. Despite being a very busy time for restaurants, this place was dead (should have been a sign). This restaurant attempts to be upscale and go along with the whole asian fusion theme that's so popular, but they just don't get it right. Service was bad. The guy seemed like he just did not want to be there. He offered nothing more than taking our drink & food order, and bringing our check (ie no pleasantries, no recommendations, didn't even bring our attention to the lunch specials they have which we saw on the table after we ordered). I paid with cash, and he didn't even bring me our coin change, just the bills. Which, yes, it's just change, but it's the principal of the matter. I overheard the booth behind us say "our waiter seems kind of lazy". Food was not good. I ordered the 180 fried rice, which included shrimp, pineapple and jalapenos. The rice was good and that was about it. The shrimp was obviously frozen, because it had was tough and not appetizing looking. The pineapple chunks were tiny, and jalapeno was barely there as was the taste. My husband got a burger which was very dry, and came with no condiment (the menu said it came with a special sauce), and when we brought it to the waiters attention, he brought mayonnaise. The fries were the best part of any of our meals, but even they were super greasy. We got our baby a grilled cheese, but he didn't even want to eat it. It did not look appetizing to me. We would not come back to this restaurant, and would not recommend it to anyone. Maybe we should have tried the sushi.

Great place overall! Sushi menu is one of the best and most informational I've ever come across. Service was great as well as cost. Most important was the food was delicious!

I have only gotten delivery from this place, so this will be about delivery ONLY. I really wanted sushi delivery, so I was going to order from Sushi Master which I already know I like, but it turns out I'm not in their zone so I decided to order from here. BAD decision! They go WAY too heavy on the sauce here! The Red Canyon Roll was literally covered in a MOUNTAIN of spicy mayo! I enjoy spicy mayo, but this place goes overboard. I ended up just picking the fillings out of each of my sushi rolls because I couldn't stand to eat the rice covered in spicy mayo. They were also out of key lime mousse which I was really looking forward to so I was really disappointed. I will probably give dining in a chance and update my review on that, but I don't recommend getting delivery.

Place is pretty big, could definitely fit a large group. Took a bit to get seated because there wasn't a host but their servers are very friendly. Drinks wise, I had the Sangria which wasn't bad. It tasted like its price, which was $4. I also ordered the Hot Green Tea because it was pretty cold outside and in the restaurant. Don't. Ever. Order. It. It doesn't even taste like green tea, tasted as if there was some weird chemical in it. Luckily it was only $2.50. Now onto the sushi, we went for the half off sushi hour which I'm glad we did because honestly, the sushi isn't worth its full price. It was decent, nothing amazing but if you're really craving sushi and you're on a budget; go here during their happy hour which is from 4-6pm. We had the Lifesaver roll, Red Canyon, and the Crabby Yummy. Out of the three, I liked the Lifesaver the best. It's crunchy due to the bacon and it's a bit sour, just a tinnnyyy bit, due to the lemon pieces on top. If you don't like that, you can easily take it off. There are avocado, tuna, and salmon on top also. The Red Canyon had crawfish on top which was why I ordered it. I feel like they're trying to do something similar to one of Sushi Neko's rolls. Sadly, it's not as good, but good attempt! Not a bad roll at all. Wish there was just more sauce. The Crabby Yummy roll has tons of crunchies on top (bits and bits of fried crumbs). It's one of the more simple rolls, it wasn't bad. I was really hungry and was craving sushi so this place was perfect. I would come back but like I said, only during happy hours.

This was a pretty good sushi place. A friend and I each got the lunch special pick 2 sushi. Then we also split the Maui. I got the eel roll and the shrimp tempura roll. Everything I had was good and had a good flavor. The wait staff was very attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. Their menu had a lot of variety. All in all a good lunch spot.

Second times the charm! Was looking for a sushi restaurant since we moved here and we found one! The rolls were on point, hubby didn't care too much for the imitation crab in the rainbow roll but the fish was definitely fresh. The cooked food was very good. Make sure your waitress or waiter understands you tho cause I asked for no peanuts and it still came with peanuts. Otherwise service was nice. Place and bathrooms was clean and the restaurant also doubles as a club. Will have to check that out at a later time. Also very good price for what you get. Highly suggested if you're looking for good sushi.

This was by far one of the worst experiences I have EVER had at a restaurant. My friend and I went here around 11:30 for lunch one day and the service was TERRIBLE! Not to mention, there were flies swarming around us the entire time. The waiter took forever to bring us our order, and never refilled our drinks or said thank you. Also, the food was...... nauseating. We ordered Crab Rangoon's as our appetizer and they literally came out black. I couldn't even eat it. And then when our rolls came out.. they were nothing like the description. They were the wrong rolls! I was already so annoyed I just tried to eat it, and I couldn't. The rice tasted so sour it made me so sick. It was obvious I hated my food, since I barely ate anything, and I was going to request to not even pay, but I didn't even bother. I just didn't leave a tip. I wouldn't EVER eat at this place again. It is terrible and should be shut down.

The first thing my mom said after we left the restaurant, "We would have been better off at a buffet." She's not *exactly* right about that, but the experience wasn't great. Arrived around 11:30 for lunch. Host stand was empty and remained empty. I peeked around the corner and finally someone saw us and came over to seat us. There were 2 other tables occupied at the time. Surprising, given the time of day. While we were there (about an hour) only 2 more groups came in. Very slow for lunch hour. Waitress was nice, brought us our drinks quickly and asked us if we were ready to order. We were not and she never returned. The host came back over and took our order, but that took quite a while. Salads arrived promptly. One had the wrong dressing, but it was only apparent after tasting. Other than that, both of them tasted fine. My mom's meal arrived and we waited on mine. And waited and waited. To the point that I began to wonder if they'd forgotten. Eventually it arrived. Both of us ordered lunch specials - she had the shrimp egg rolls with fried rice, I had the shrimp tempura roll and a California roll. She was not impressed with her meal. I tasted one of the egg rolls and thought it was fine. The sauce they serve with them is great as well. No idea what it is, but I want more. The fried rice was bland and not great. Nothing special there. The shrimp tempura roll was great, California roll - eh. Won't be getting that again. The entire time we were there we received very little attention. This doesn't always bother me, but when they are getting things wrong and not bringing what you ask for (sweetener), it's annoying. I almost got the feeling they were understaffed in that regard, but there were only 5 tables occupied, so that's not really the case. I've heard really good things about their happy hour and I would like to go back to try that. I assume there's more staff around at dinner and I wonder if that would help with the service. Might give them a second chance.

One of the best for sushi places in Okc. They serve Uni (sea urchin) excellent! The staff was very courteous and very helpful.

I love this place. Haven't had a dish I didn't love or a server that wasn't pleasant. Although, every time we go there there's hardly no one there! I love it, but it makes me question how they stay open if no one is ever there? Oh well :-)

This restaurant is one of my favorites. I see all the negative reviews on here and either I must have low standards or I've just lucked out every time I've been. Our service is always excellent - friendly and helpful, but not overly-attentive so that they're lurking over your table every 43 seconds. They have good beer specials and a good sushi happy hour. My Husband hates sea food and I have some sort of unhealthy sushi addiction. That's why this restaurant is so great for us. Their menu is huge so there are plenty of non-sushi options. He's partial to the Thai Basil Chicken. We also often get the chicken spring roll appetizer, which we love, though their Wonton appetizer is really good too. I always get sushi and I love it. I'm not very picky about my sushi, I just hate when it's packed with so much rice that everything else is lost. That is not ever the case here. The food is always presented nicely and the taste is outstanding. It is not a terribly popular restaurant so there's never a crowd or a wait. There's a guy who sings on weekend nights - I can't remember if it's Friday, Saturday or both, but he is really talented and adds something to the meal. My Husband and I really enjoy when he's there. All the staff we've ever dealt with has been friendly and the service is prompt. The restaurant is always also clean, bathrooms included. When the bathrooms in a restaurant are dirty it gives me pause - though it's always well maintained there. I see the negative reviews, but I just have a hard time reconciling them with the countless dining experiences that I've had there.

This place is pretty bad. Their rolls are wayyyyyy to large, and always fall apart when you try to pick them up with chopsticks. Too much rice, not enough filling. Sevice isn't even that great either. I would tell my friends to go somewhere else, if I were telling them to go somewhere for sushi.

Favorite sushi in Norman! Came here for lunch this week and was pleasantly surprised! The lunch special for sushi is a fabulous deal and the full prices for dinner did not seem any different than what is at other sushi places. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'll absolutely be back to try more!

5* for SUSHI. NOTE ON OTHER FOOD BELOW! Sushi: I honestly LOVE 180. However, you have to pick the right things. Their sushi is awesome. And during happy hours, specialty rolls are less than $8!!! Considering the quality of the sushi and price, you can't beat it. I have actually begun to like their sushi more than Tokyo, which I went to last week. I haven't tried all of the rolls yet but these are my favorite so far: For something kinda creamy (doesn't have cream cheese though, I meant the sauces with it), I like the Red Canyon (has crawfish) For something kinda crispy, the 180 Roll or Firecracker (eel!! Yum!) is good! For something kinda fresh and healthy feeling, the Sooner roll is good! Despite the fact that I usually go during happy hour, I don't feel like they skimp on the fish. And the quality is still great! I will try more rolls in the future :] Regular Menu: HOWEVER, be forewarned. Their regular menu may not be the best. I have tried a few different things and its mixed. Kalbi beef: Personally I like this dish a lot. It is well seasoned and has a lot of flavor. Warning though, it may not taste like kalbi beef you have had at other restaurants (korean short ribs), but its good in its own way! What I really like about it is that it is flavorful, but not dry, but not greasy! So its actually one of my favorite kalbi beef. DO NOT get the 180 fried rice( the one with jalapenos and pineapple). There are many other places that make fried rice nearby much better. The fried rice here was very bland. We had ordered some salt and pepper tofu along with it, and honestly, by mixing in the leftover seasonings, it made the dish at least 3xs better. Maybe they will make it better in the future? But right now, its a no. Salt and Pepper Tofu: Pretty good in my opinion! They use soft tofu inside so its, well soft. However eat quickly so that it doesn't get soggy. Korean smoked baby back ribs are okay. Not amazing, but not bad. The chili green beans taste how you expect they would taste. Tempura Fries. Pretty dang good! I like the added crispyness of these fries!! Vegetable Tempura Appetizer (on sushi menu). Mixed. The tempura sweet potato tasted off. Not quite as soft as I was expecting? The tempura broccoli was good at first, but after a while of eating it, it tastes kinda starchy. The tempura zucchini was good! And so were the onions! ~~ only thing is very oily, but also very crispy. So take and leave. Panko Calamari: Okay. Not amazing, not bad. Not chewy at least, but not what I was expecting. Essentially was mozzarella sticks, but with squid inside instead. The sauce they serve with it works with this dish. Service: Variable. I've never had "bad" service (someone with attitude), but I have at times had better service. There is this one older, asian waiter who does a pretty good job. Whenever we sit down, he always lists all of the specials they have at the time and has been very kinda. All of the waiters have brought out additional spicy mayo and eel sauce when asked (which is a huge plus, because I love these sauces). However sometimes they may be extremely slow with bringing out the food (which I think only happens with big parties: 6+), one time it took about an hour to get our food after ordering. So go in small parties. Also, there have been times where the server seemed to preoccupied with other staff to come over, however if you catch his attention he'll be right over. Another thing to note, is that the front desk has not had people at it on multiple occasions. When this happens, I just suggest you go in and find a seat or something. The reason I give 5* instead of lower, is because they really make their sushi well and its affordable. I have never had attitude from a waiter or waitress, and they will bring you what you ask, so I think they're good. And although some of their dishes are questionable, they have something that they do really well, so I don't want people to be discouraged from them.

I ate here for lunch today and was extremely disappointed with my sushi. It was very wet (which was strange) and drenched in sauce. Also, the pieces of sushi were way too big. I might have just gotten the wrong thing because I've heard good things about the restaurant in the past. The service was also not the best. I am usually not very picky with food, but this was one of the worst meals I've ever had.

Awesome place for Sushi!!! Went out to lunch with 10 members of the office and the wait was not long. I personally got the Solo Boat which was sushi & sashimi and a side order of miso soup. Waiter was excellent and service was spot on!

This is my 2nd time here. I am feeling reserved about it. The last time here the food was good but the service sucked bad. Read all the other comments about here. I had time to. This time is Valentine's Day and there was a hostess at the stand and the place is packed. We got seated immediately which is good. We opted for the valentine couples meal and I got the egg drop soup and it was excellent. Our second course is spring chicken rolls and they were awesome also. Service so far has been much better. I spoke to soon as it has slowed down horribly. So far half of our other has shown up but the other half of our party has not received theirs and theirs was also supposed to have salads which have not arrived at all. They got it about 5 minutes later.the food was excellent again but it sucks bad when my dessert shows up before I am done with my meal. I also like to leave quick when I get my bill but don't like getting my bill before I am done!!!!!! This place only rates a 2 star due to the slow service

  • Deborah P.

This establishment received one star, based on the service ALONE. Our server was quick, attentive and professional. The food, however....shrimp tempura, soggy and greasy. Beef and chicken teriyaki, totally over cooked and dry as dry can get. Dumplings (two of us ordered bento boxes for dinner) obviously came out of a bag; although advertised to be pan fried, were mushy. The Dragon roll was plated on an overly salted sauce and cut too largely. My husband ordered the curry, which came out with large pieces of uncooked bell peppers and nearly immediately upset his stomach, that man loves curry and spice, so that was not the problem. Basically, if your going for a hot bowl of miso soup, great, otherwise, skip it. Pricey and poorly executed dinners for all three of us.

UPDATE: I got a personal message tonight via email from someone at the restaurant because of a survey I filled out about them, and linked it to this review for more details: "Thank you for your recent visit to 180 Meridian Grill. I understand that your experience was nothing like it should have been and I would like to apologize on behalf of everyone who could have changed the situation. I know that there is nothing I can say that would help at this point so I will leave it with our apologies and hope that maybe in the future you will give us another try after we have ironed out all of our opening issues." I'm sorry, but you opened in early February. You have now had more than 3 months to iron out all of your opening issues. Opening issues should have been ironed out in the first few days, a week at most. I thank you for the acknowledgement that our experience was nothing like it should have been, and I was impressed with the response until I got to the end. But blaming it on opening issues after 3 months is asinine. I will add that I have some friends who love this place and after I told them about our experience, they couldn't believe it. They have been a few times and have always had excellent service. While I admit that any restaurant can have an off night, this was more than an off night. It was downright awful, and something should have been corrected as soon as the manager saw me walking across the restaurant to the bar to get my drink filled. He didn't even apologize to us for the awful service, and nothing chanced with the service from our waitress. The whole experience is inexcusable, in my opinion.

I went here for my anniversary and had one of the best dinners out I've ever had. Definitely get one of the fresh ginger ales with fruit juice; such a good deal for an amazing drink! We got the panko calamari strips which came out really fast and piping hot. The calamari was the perfect texture and the breading was crunchy. My husband got the 180 burger which was HUGE and the meat tasted amazing. The tempura fries that came with it were a nice change from traditional fries. I got the Imperial Peking Duck which was quite tasty and had a lovely presentation. We finished our dinner with the Coconut Bread Pudding. The only thing negative i can say about this is that it has ruined all other bread puddings for me. The sauce added a bright, lemony flavor, the bread was spongy, the custard was perfect, and the texture was orgasmic!!! Our service was spectacular and we had a very short wait time for all of our courses. They even had a very talented singer and guitarist playing live music, which set a very nice feel to the already elegant atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back and try something else off their tempting looking menu!

The mixed Yelp reviews on this place were a little intriguing, so I decided to give 180 Meridian a try. It was a mistake, and I regretted it the second I walked in. We were greeted by the distinct aroma of mop water (but not by an actual person, since the host stand was empty). When someone came around shortly to seat us, he gestured to the almost-empty restaurant and said, "Eh, I'll let you pick to make it easy." The menus were riddled with typos and typed in Comic Sans, both of which, historically, I've found to be very telling. The space / restaurant branding has a lot of potential, which was promptly ignored by the people who wrote the menus. Our waiter was efficient and friendly, which is why this place got two stars instead of one. The appetizer calamari was fried well, not bad, nothing to write home about. I had the orange peel chicken, which was salty beyond belief and came with well-cooked brown rice and barely-cooked, unseasoned broccoli. I also tried my companion's pad thai (or phat thai, as it's written on the menu), which tasted like ketchup. I'm not a pad thai purist by any means, but it tasted like rice noodles with vegetables and ketchup. Probably because it's made of vegetables and rice noodles and ketchup. It wasn't bad enough to be demoralizing (again, probably because our waiter was more than competent), but I can't imagine ever going back into this place for any reason.

No complaints about the sushi. It's on par with other good sushi places in town. Restaurant is clean and attractive, but nothing that really sets it apart from the pack. However, both times I went in, I left feeling like I overpaid. With a handful of other good sushi spots close by, I don't see a compelling reason to eat here.

Love this place. Amazing happy hour special, and the sushi is so good! Butterfly roll is a must. Servers are excellent, although the service is slow at times. That part is hit or miss, just depends on if they are short staffed I guess. But I don't hold that against them.

The food was delicious, but the service was lacking. We waited 45 minutes for two orders of sushi and a wrap. We asked our server, who was actually very sweet, and she said there was a delay in the kitchen. We also asked the manager to come over and he also went to check on the food. We were very grateful that the manager didn't charge us for our meals, but I'm not sure I would go back.

They got it about 5 minutes later.the food was excellent again but it sucks bad when my dessert shows up before I am done with my meal. I also like to leave quick when I get my bill but don't like getting my bill before I am done!!!!!! This place only rates a 2 star due to the slow service

This place was all around awful experience. We went in on a Tuesday night around 8:00pm. The service was awful and the food was dry and gross. If the server or manager would have asked us how I food was I would have sent it back. Also the server and manager were more intrested with each other than anything else. Disappointing because we live really close.

Decided to eat here despite the negative reviews. They have only been open for two months and have since re staffed the restaurant. Our service was perfect. The restaurant was relatively empty during rush hour and We received our food promptly with excellent service. I would recommend to a friend and to you.

This place is pretty great. Sushi happy hour 4-6 M-F is the best. Although the service is sometimes hit or miss, you can't beat the price. Blows most sushi in Norman out of the water at half the price
