Van's has the best ribs ever! I normally don't like ribs but at Van's, that's what I will always order! It's juicy and fall of the bones easily....just the way I like it! The collard greens and curly fries are my favorite sides. Their sweet tea are perfectly sweetened and I can't get enough of it! Employees are so friendly! Van's don't really have waiters but we always get asked by an employee if we need refills so we don't have to get up. The restaurant is very clean and have plenty of tables. They have a garage door that they open up when the weather is nice.

Pretty disappointed in the food quality here. We were driving to Norman and decided to try out Van's for the first time. Unfortunately we drive right by Backdoor BBQ on the way...should've stopped there. We had turkey, chicken, and sausage with baked beans and green beans. My son got a kids cheeseburger and we paid 69 cents to add a piece of cheese. Turkey was dry, chicken reminded me of the scene from Christmas Vacation when Clark cut open the Christmas turkey and the sausage was tough and flavorless. First and last visit for me I'm afraid.

I got the onion burger and a rack of ribs. I sat and ate the burger, it was very good. It was a half pound with two slices of melted cheese. To me it didn't need but one slice, it was very tender and juicy, I was very pleased. So I was hoping that the ribs would be just as good. So I went ahead and ate two ribs to see what I was in for. They were alright, but not as good as the burger was. They were not as tender as I like ribs to be, very edible but not great. I still can't say that any establishment in Okc. has great ribs on the regular anymore, but I will still continue to look for them. I will be back for a burger for sure. I ate a burger from Van's in Shawnee about four years ago and I don't remember it being as great as it was...maybe because it was only a quarter pound so not as juicy but it was good. So I'll give the burger a five-star because it is up there with the best the king of burgers, Nic's. The ribs I'll give a score of 3.5 for a lack of tenderness and smoke...I like a heavy smoke on meat.

Good BBQ, with some very big portions in a nice, clean facility. Staff was polite and food came out quick.

DON'T order anything to go! I could literally order my food here in Moore, drive to the original vans in Shawnee and sit and eat, then drive back and my food might be ready. I'm really let down cause I loved the locations in Shawnee. Second time it has happened to me and I won't be coming back. The food was crusty and cold (potatoes) and on top of that they had my order wrong...

This place is EXCELLENT. I would recommend this to all those travelers on I-35 passing thru the OKC area. They have daily lunch specials. The sandwiches are great the Friday luch special, 2 meat, veg, drink, is also great. I recommend the ribs/brisket. Drinks free with the special, only about $10 bucks. Discount for cash. Kid friendly, tornado storm shelter provided!!! Come early

We went back a second time and it was much better so I will move it up to four stars. We purchased a family meal to go. Service was quick for a Friday night. The brisket wasn't dry like last time. The collard greens wasn't too salty like last time. Both the brisket and ribs were flavorful and moist.

Ate at the Moore location of Van's for lunch on a Friday. This is a large location with plenty of seating. I went with the smokestack sandwich. It comes with your choice of three meats, cole slaw, and sauce. I went with pulled pork, brisket, and hot links. On the side, I had fried okra. As other yelpers note, you get a small discount when paying with cash. Usually there is an upcharge for paying with a card, so it was a nice surprise to see it applied the other way. The sandwich is large, and I went with the regular. Of the meats, I thought the brisket was the best. It is tender and had a decent bark to it. Very flavorful meat. The pork was standard, it was moist enough and there's a good amount on the bun. The hot link wasn't as hot as I would have hoped. It was my least favorite meat. The bun could not stand up to the ingredients on the sandwich, so I had to finish the last half or so with a fork. The side order of okra is large, but the breading was far too thick for me. It was so thick that I couldn't get a fork through more than one piece. I love okra, but I would not order this again. The restaurant was clean and there were several people walking around asking if diners needed anything. There was a sink outside the bathroom, which I like at places like this where your hands are likely to get dirty eating. There is ample parking and a drive through window.

My absolute favorite local Rib Joint. Van's has been an Oklahoma tradition since 1930 and a Sooner tradition for my family since a friend from Shawnee turned us on to them in the 90's. There are 4 Van's locations and this is the newest one. When the old location was wiped off the map by the Moore tornado in 2013 they came back in a brand new building. The atmosphere is rib joint casual and has a great Oklahoma Route 66 nostalgia. They have catering services as well as plenty of room for expansion, or large tables. The service is excellent and all you have to do is ask. Country hospitality. A family-run business you'll see two, maybe three generations of the original "Van" Vandegrift family working there. They love this place and it shows. I wonder if the two negative reviewers even bothered to let the staff know of any problems because they'll bend over backwards to fill you with prime Okie BBQ. My favorite are the dry-rub, hickory-smoked ribs. The rub is a generations-old secret (like any good rib joint) and I always eat the first rib without sauce just to get one taste with nothing but smoke and rub. The sauces are all great too. My personal favorite is the Yellow bottle (extra hot). It's not that hot, but has a nice kick. The hand-cut curly fries are my next favorite thing at Van's. NOM NOM NOM. Idaho potatoes, not some sugar-soaked fastfood russet. Tell em how you want em they are great extra crispy, but I'll take them however they come. As for the brisket, turkey, bologna, hot links and the rest. I love them all, but only eat those when I grab the full family meal. The cole slaw is cream-style (favorite) the potato slad, beans and fried okra are just like grandma's. The carrot cake is the best desert, but they also have homemade pies and cupcakes (sometimes cookies). All in all this is easily a five-star rib joint. They get it all right and if it isn't, just let them know. They'll make it right. By the way, this review is totally biased. I am the MAYOR of Van's Rib Joint on Foursquare because I can't go more than a few days without MY VAN's RIBS!

The Moore location of Vans Pig Stand has reopened at a new location! They are at the corner of SW 19 St & Tower RD, under the water tower. A bigger location, more comfortable seating, better & quicker service. Same great menu and daily specials for lunch. Parking is good with a better drive thru window. Look for specials on facebook. Really good BBQ and the curly fries are good and generous

The store was clean and the order was out quick. The staff was polite and saw yo our needs. The problem was the meat didn't taste like it was smoked. It was more like it was done in an oven which made it bland. The baked beans were sweet to the point it was like a mouth full of brown sugar but the worse part was the chicken had thick skin and was raw in the center. Won't be back.

Vans is my favorite BBQ restaurant SOMETIMES. You have to get there when it's busy or you'll get some pretty tough beef jerky called ribs. The sauce is the best ever and always is but the meat is left out and so dry sometimes that it's just not good. Almost $13 for a dinner with two small sides is a bit much but when it's good it's really good. When it's bad it's really bad. Unfortunately this time it was bad. The service is ok. Again inconsistent. So in my opinion I guess you just take your chances to get good ribs. This is coming from the new Moore lactation.

I'm a life long Moore resident, and I was excited to see that Van's had decided to rebuild. I finally got a chance to try out the new location today and I was very disappointed with the quality. The meats tasted like they went to Wal Mart and bought the cheapest quality that they could find, the sides were undercooked, soggy and everything overall was just poor quality. I hope this was just an off day, but we won't be going back for quite a while.

Fantastic BBQ but their burgers are the hidden treat of this establishment. Great family place ... and the Pig Stand can accommodate a quick stop in or a nice family meal. The ribs are on par our better with any one else's ribs.

Vanized spuds. Yummy! and the service was top notch!

I was excited see Van's reopen in Moore. However, our experience was not what we expected. We place an order to go, loaded baked potato and a salad with smoked chicken. While waiting for our food we tried to strike up a conversation with a man who looked to be the manager. Well he clearly didn't want to talk. Then i noticed not one employee looked like they even wanted to be there, not a single smile, actually they were all frowning. When we got home my husband's salad did not have any chicken, looking at the receipt we found the girl who helped us hadn't put it on our order. My potato was cold and dry with only about 2 small spoons of chopped beef. When my husband when back up to the store to get the chicken on his salad, he got an "oh, ok" no apology or anything. And again he tried to talk to the same manager but again he must have been to busy to talk to customers. This will be our first an last visit to Van's. Both the food and the service were terrible.

Van's used to be a decent BBQ place. It was a tragedy last year when the 4th St. location was destroyed and I was very enthusiastic when I saw they were building a fancy new location off of 19th St. Unfortunately, the new and improved Van's is new and improved only in terms of cosmetics. Yes, the new building is new and clean, albeit with some fake rustic flair. First, the prices are absurdly high and the portions are inexcusably small. Really, folks who like BBQ tend to have an appetite. $14 for a two-meat combo and a water? You've gotta be kidding me. I got better BBQ, and more of it, for less money in Washington, D.C. and that's really saying something. My meal included two ribs weighing 4oz including the bone and allegedly 4oz of fatty brisket, two small sides and barely-toasted Texas toast. Usually, it's the sauce that makes good BBQ. The sauce was actually pretty decent, not the best I've had but pretty good. What kills the BBQ is the complete lack of anything even resembling a smokey flavor. Do they steam it? Oven-roast it? I'm not sure, but it certainly doesn't taste smoked. I am REALLY hoping that things will come together at some point, maybe they improve how they smoke the meat and either lower the prices or improve the portions and I will certainly be back to revise my review if I happen to have a different experience in the future (it's going to be hard for me to justify dropping another $14, though).
