Another visit to Okc and a trip to Rickys. I invited 4 friends who have never been here. Javier is always my guy. He ALWAYS takes good care of me and my guests. This was no exception. He made all the recommendations. He's always right on. Beer was awesome and cold. Food, always great. Number9, 7, quesadillas, special guiso, chips and salsa, etc. I highly recommend.

Ricky's was a late afternoon stop after a long hot car show. I had a chimichanga and it was good. I was not a fan of the cheese sauce as it was a little more seasoned than I like, but the other folks in our group thought it was great. The decor is fun and the service was excellent. I actually enjoyed the chips without and salsa or dip, which is kind of rare. The regular salsa was pretty good but their version of a hotter sauce left a little to be desired. We would definitely come back when in this area of town.

Day old leftover Mole was marinated yumminess! Tried to each just one enchilada but they both made their way into my stomach. Excited to try this place fresh!

Was excited to try Ricky's as I've heard good things and the Yelp reviews were decent. I was thoroughly disappointed. My family had dinner at Ricky's on a Tuesday. We arrived around 5:45 and there were maybe a half dozen tables seated. The place is large, it feels larger than it looks on the outside, if that makes any sense. The tables aren't crammed together, so even if the joint was full I don't think you would feel cramped. There is a decent sized bar with standard fare. Overall, the place is clean and comfortable. We were immediately brought chips, salsa, and cheese sauce, as per usual in most Tex Mex joints in Oklahoma. The salsa was fine, little chunkier than normal, which I prefer. It had some slight heat, but I understand that's for every diner, so they can't make it hot. The cheese sauce was a total fail, maybe the worst I've had. First of all, of our 4 bowls, none were hot. And, only two were room temperature. The other two somehow felt colder than room temperature, which I didn't think possible. And, it had very little flavor. It looks like cheese sauce, but it lacked taste. Huge disappointment. The tortillas were a saving grace for this place. They are handmade, and when they come to your table they are hot. Additionally, they have a slight crisp to the outside of them which I love. These were some of the best I've had in a long time, which made the cheese sauce (and rest of the meal) all the more frustrating, because these tortillas demonstrate that Ricky's can do stuff well. For dinner, I had the chimichanga dinner, which comes with two smaller chimichangas instead of one huge one. I loved this, as I got to try two instead of one, which is what you get at most places. I've not seen this before. So, I went with fajita chicken and fajita beef, topped with cheese. The beef one was decent, not great. The meat was dry in a lot of spots, it would have been nice to have some veggies or pico on the inside, but all it had was meat. But, it was fried and rolled well. I discovered my other chimichanga was also beef. So, I waited to inform my server that my order was wrong. When he finally returned, after several minutes, I told him the issue and he looked at me incredulously. This annoyed me, as I know the difference between chicken and beef, and he was basically accusing me of being wrong. So, I cut it open, and when he saw that it was indeed beef he apologized and went to get me a chicken one. This took approximately ten minutes to arrive. And, they clearly didn't let it fry long enough, because it was soggy and not crispy like the one I actually ate. The chicken, like the beef, was dry. It was doubly annoying I had to wait so long for the replacement, only to find that they didn't cook it properly. If it was going to take so long, they might as well take the additional two minutes and fry it properly. Our server was friendly, but disappeared in the middle of the meal. This is when I discovered my order was wrong, and I also ran out of water. So, that was bad timing. I may return to give Ricky's another shot, but I doubt it's soon based on my first experience.

I used to work here and I can honestly say we give great service. That's always top priority- taking care of the guests. The restaurant is beautiful, warm and inviting, and I can tell you that it is kept in tip-top shape. It is cleaned very thoroughly, all the time. I love the tortillas- I have yet to find a place that can top them. The special sauce and the regular salsa are both really good, and so is the horchata. There are a few items that could be improved, but those tortillas alone give their own star to the rating.

So we went to Ricky's Cafe the other night because we had a group of 8 and all of our regular places were packed. I understand why Ricky's wasn't! The food was mediocre at best. Somewhere between Taco Bell and Chilis. The 4/8 at the table had their orders incorrect (wrong sauce, wrong meat, wrong tortilla.......) Next time we'll stick to Alfredo's

Ricky's is our favorite Mexican Restaurant! The food is always amazing, the tortilla are out of this world! Free chips and queso/ salsa unheard of!!! I have never been dissppointed there, I always ask for this lovely lady tony, everyone loves her! the prices are not expensive, the portions of the entrees are well enough to feed 2people unless you a lot like i do then you can finish one entree then start on your wifes food!!! All in all Rickys Cafe is amazing... hope I helped you out on deciding where to go for a bite to eat!

I read the other reviews & I don't think they went the same place I did. We went to Rick's Cafe when they first oped--many years ago. However, in the recent years their food and service is terrible. Rick's special sauce was free, but now it is $2.98 and we didn't know they charged for it till we got the bill. [2 x 2.98 = $5.96] My husband's food was slightly cool--not even warm. My serving was smaller than other places. We had stopped going because of bad food & service, but we went this week because I thought they had improved. Not!! Few customers on a Saturday night isn't good. I want the restaurant back. How are they still in business?

Good food, service, and priced reasonable. I like Margaritas and the Chile Colorado!

Im biased being from South Texas and tend to compare all Mexican restaurants to a very authentic place in Corpus Christi. That being said...Ricky's wasnt bad. The salsa was pretty good. Each person gets their own serving of "queso". I put quotes because the consistency was unusual to me. Not exacItly a cheese consistency, more like a thin cheese-like liquid, but its free so thats probably the reason. My husband and I both ordered a combo that had 2 beef fajita quesadillas (equal to one tortilla), one sour cream chicken enchilada, and I think a crispy taco. The fajita meat was pretty fatty and stringy and there was only meat in one of my quesdillas. I will say that it is a lot of food, with leftovers. The enchilada was alright although the sour cream sauce tasted more like cream of chicken soup that was very salty. I wont comment on the taco because Im not sure thats what else was with it. The rice and beans werent anything special. They do have homemade tortillas which were tasty dipped in the "cheese sauce". We ordered the flan for dessert and were pleasntly surprised. Creamier than any flan Ive ever with tasty whipped cream and caramel sauce (and it was cheap!) It was probably the best part of the meal. The decor is overly Mexican and the lights are SUPER bright. Our service was just fine and the food came out fast.

I thought it was great. my family did not. The chips/salsa/free queso similar to Los Amigos and its nice that they have relish.

Me and my family come here often for lunch/dinner and we have yet to ever be disappointed. Great food, very reasonable prices, excellent service!

Ricky's Cafe moved from a much smaller location around the corner to this beautiful new bright and spacious building but the food has remained consistently good. Their tortillas are among the best in the area and their entrees are large enough that two people can reasonably split one plate. One burrito (don't remember the name from the menu) was nearly the length of a football. Service was very prompt and thoughtful- my grandfather has a severe allergy to meat so the waiter checked with the kitchen and brought out a special bowl of beans that didn't contain lard. If you plan on going on a Sunday, be sure to get there early since the place fills up quickly and there's always a line.
