Pretty meh. I stopped in while I was in town because it was one of the higher rated places in Miami. Burger was ok. Meat on it was good but the onions were stacked ridiculously high and the tomatoes were garbage, not unlike most restaurants these days. Waffle fries that everyone else has bragged about were of the frozen bag variety. Also, this might be nitpicky, but 27 cents for a refill??? Get outta here with that noise.

This is a authentic Route 66 stop with a small clean dining room and fairly large menu. We stopped in for an evening snack at the tail end of a road trip and sampled fried shrimp, mushrooms, and mozzarella sticks, so I feel ill equipped to really speak for their other offerings like burgers and ice cream or yogurt. Hopefully I'll be back and revise this later after trying more of their food. I hate being handed a big fountain drink that is 95% densely packed ice with a trickle of cola at the bottom and that's exactly what we received here, so I take off a full star for that. But the food was hot, tasty and delicious without an overly greasy fried taste - you could actually enjoy the flavors of our mushrooms and shrimp, so that gained big points with us. My husband and I live right off Route 66 nearby (in Missouri) but enjoyed feeling like total tourists here, they were so kind to us and when I showed interest in obtaining a Ku-Ku Burger ink pen they obliged & gave me a keychain fob, too!

The burger meat is really thin compared to what I prefer from a fast food place, the fries are really good and I've been told their fried mushrooms are the best in town. If anything its a cool place to stop if you are touring down route 66 other than that the sonic is probably a better place to eat if you want a burger with actual sizable meat.

OMG! I cannot believe I just waited literally 40 minutes in drive thru. The food is just okay. Did I mention 40 minutes waiting? I guess that is kind of my fault~should have left.

Nice little burger 'joint' with a Route 66 theme. Counter service. Pork tenderloin sand which was OK and our guests said the same of their burgers. Shakes were good, fountain drinks were filled to the brim with ice and they charge for refills... Fried green tomatoes were great and the mozzarella sticks were good. Friendly, fast and polite staff welcome you and take good care of you while you visit. Very inexpensive.

A beautiful day riding on Rt 66, stopped here for a late lunch. Service friendly and food made fresh. Good burger and waffle fries. The Ku-Ku Waffle fries were very good. This place is what Rt 66 is all about. Take a moment to stop in, relax and experience a bit of time gone-by. You'll be glad you did.

Not closed, to the best of my limited understanding. We went out of our way to stop here on an epic road trip, and I wasn't disappointed (but also wasn't blown away - but consider that in MN, we have burgers with cheese inside of them. Inside. Think about it.). I ordered a "giant burger" with cheese and it was delicious. I added fried green tomatoes which were also okay, though it only came with three thick slices of tomato. Boyfriend's burger was alright. Good place to stop for the sheer historicness, but don't expect the best burger in the world.

Sooo delicious!!! Every time we happen to come to Oklahoma we make sure to stop here. The shakes and fried pickles are the Best!!!

We had pretty tasteless cheeseburgers, over-cooked onion rings, under-cooked fries, and very sour limeades for lunch. Service was very slow for a fast-food restaurant. I dislike the big chain burger places, but wish we had stopped at one of them this time. We won't be back.

All the locals love this place. Great food. It's been here for years, original owner is still cooking the burgers and is classic Route 66. Everything is made fresh so don't expect to get it too quickly. It's worth the wait. I love the Giant Cheeseburger or regular cheeseburger (toast the bun). They turn the top bun upside down and grill it. Yummy.

This place is great! I don't know what it is about the deluxe cheeseburger, but it is awesome! I ate here yesterday and I had to go back the today for another one. It is a little slower than most fast food places, but the wait isn't bad and it's completely worth it. I had the fries, onion rings and waffle fries as well and have nothing bad to say about those either. Great stop, if you visit Miami, make sure to go here.

kitschy retro little place on route 66. went with my mom + my brother in november ... if you like everything fried then this is your heaven ... french frys, fried pickles, sweet potato tater tots, burgers ... which I skipped of course because i'm a pescatarian. mom and bro liked their burgers, the rest was the ubiquitous artery clogging midwestern grub. i prefer my sweet potato tots with a side of savory like ranch or something spicy. they came with maple syrup. anyway it was what it was.

This place is wonderful! We've been eating here since we were kids. Such a classic place and WAYLAN is ALWAYS there. He really takes pride in his business and it shows in his food.

This is a classic burger place. We enjoyed the food, although we found the larger hamburgers to be a bit messy. Also, drinks had too much ice. Prices were reasonable and the dining room was typical for this type of establishment: clean, but nothing fancy. It was a fun place to stop on Route 66, and we'll definitely stop in again the next time we pass through.

Stopped here with my family on our recent Route 66 trip to Albuquerque from Chicago. The best thing I can say about this place is the wonderful Neon sign. It is what drew us in. We excitedly expected a great diner hamburger meal with shakes but were sorely disappointed. Slow and indifferent/unenthusiastic service. The burgers were small and bland. The buns were even stale! Waffle fries nothing special. The shakes were very good though. The soft drinks filled to the brim with ice as others have stated. Very disappointed. I'm sure this was a special place at one time but there is no other reason to stop here now except for a quick photo of the neon sign. I have to say that this is the worst place we ate at on our entire trip. I hope the management reads this constructively and makes an effort to improve. I will wait for future reviews before deciding to take my family there again on our next trip.

On historic Route 66, it was like a good experience. The burgers were decent and the kids loved the car kids meals. Good for your road trips up the old 66.

This is one of the best burger places on 66--you just gotta know how to order! Recommend cherry limeade or your favorite fountain drink with a shot or cherry or vanilla, my favorite is vanilla dr pepper, make sure to tell then easy on the ice. Get any burger the way you want and ask for it to be grilled! They flip the buns, and the taste of a buttered grilled bun on your tongue will flip your lid. Pair this deliciousness with their fried food of the month, or KuKu fries and you are set! Dessert? Cyclone or homemade cookies--the turtle cookies are excellent! Now go order like a local and eat!

We found our route 66 journey running through Miami Oklahoma and decided to skip the chains and standard tex mex sprinkling the land plentiful. The decor is nothing magic but it is a nice to see the pictures and see my father reminiscent. The max seating is less than 100 and lunch gets pretty packed. Plan ahead, it takes about 15 minutes to get your meal. The fries are pretty sublime. The burgers are juicy and worth the trip. I got a fish sandwich and it was a bit lacking. The prices are top notch and cheap. I suggest getting kids the cut car meals for optimal happiness! I fall for the nostalgic factor first and foremost. The food did not disappoint nor did the giant KuKu Bird this location is known for.

We enjoyed our visit today. Yes, it was a step back in time. I had the hot dog and my husband had the GIANT (aka. 1/4 pound) burger. The burger is the thing to get. It was also cool to see the owner in the back working the grill. Do recommend. Will stop by again.

We got into town around 9:30pm last night and were specifically looking for a place on Route 66 to have dinner. Because of the reviews we decided to try out Waylans ku-ku burger and we were not disappointed. The food was made to order so the wait is longer than you would wait for a typical fast food but everything was hot and taste great. My boyfriend had the double giant burger, waffle fries and a strawberry flavor burst cone (I had a taste and it was delicious). I had a giant burger, fried mushrooms and a strawberry shake which was also very good. The girl working the drive thru was fabulous and very friendly. Great experience thank you!

Stopped in Miami for fuel and decided to grab a bite to eat at Waylan's. They have some of *the best* diner style cheeseburgers I've had in a long, long time. The tator tots were perfect, with a great crisp and not a hint of soggy to them. Mozzarella sticks were typical of most places. Lots of crushed ice, but the ice tea was tasty. Friendly staff and the restaurant was clean. If I lived anywhere close to here, I'd be a regular, no doubt about it!

Classic burger place. Been in town forever. Friendly staff. Food doesn't come out super fast depending on how busy it is. After you order they hand you a card with a number that is called when your food is ready. Some reviews complain about the thin burger patty but I kind of like it. The regular burger is pretty small but you can order the bigger deluxe burger if you want something bigger with everything on it. The buns are nice and toasted. The fries are perfect, the "in between" not too thick, not too thin fries. I like the regular ones better than the waffle. The pop comes with the crushed ice in a foam cup. If you don't like a lot of ice you have to ask for "easy ice" because they put a lot in. I think pop is best with crushed ice in a foam cup so I guess it is a matter of preference. Apparently they charge for refills, I don't normally get refills... Bottom line is that this is a great classic fast food joint. I give it 4 stars because I think it is a pretty great restaurant compared to other fast food burger options out there. I will stop by again next time I am in town for another burger.
