Came in after finding this place on Yelp! My first visit was about a month ago and did not go well, so this was my 2nd attempt. When they brought me my queso I though it was some kind of Mexican mustard, it was the wrong color and consistency to be what I would consider queso. The taste was non descript. Not even what my husband refers to as "football cheese" (you know the kind you get on nachos at high school football games) which would have been better. At least the chips were good, hot and crispy. When they brought my tacos she asked me if I needed silverware. For tacos? I shouldn't, but thanks. When I picked up my first taco (The Cuban, which I was very excited about because of the plantains) I understood. 90% of the contents fell out of the bottom of the two corn tortillas before I was able to take a bite. The pork was decent and the one plantain sliver I finally found under a large pile of black beans was delicious. My second taco (The Greek) met the same fate as my first, but this time I was ready so I quickly turned it on its side and attempted to eat it like a sandwich. And failed. The Gyro meat was good, though the portion was small compared to the size of the taco, the tzatziki sauce tasted like plane yogurt. I gave 2 stars because the tacos were only $2 (because it was Tuesday), which raised my 1 star to a two. This place has potential, but I'll give it a few more months to tweet before I'll be back.

Food in Lawton is not so great, but this place isn't too bad. If this was in Los Angeles this would be a 2 star for the food. Trivia night brings the ratings up! FOOD: Cuban taco (4 stars): I liked all the flavors in here. Baja taco (3 stars): Fish is no bueno. Didn't taste like anything. The Mongo Salad (2 stars): Just don't order a salad here. Rice (4 stars) TRIVIA NIGHT (4 stars) A lot of fun! Took a while for people to answer though so the game took time. They did raffles in between games to make the time go buy faster. ATMOSPHERE (4 stars) One of the few places in Lawton we came back to. Clean with a laid back atmosphere. In a better area of Lawton. Nice bar area. Also an area with couches and a fireplace. PARKING: Shopping center lot.

Let's be honest. Twisted Taco is a sports bar. It is a family friendly space, but features a bar along the longest wall, only a few tables that seat more than two with any comfort, and more tv screens than the local Sears electronic aisles. I'd be happy enough to take the family here for lunch or for an early dinner, but as the night goes on, the bar patrons and the loud tvs will make the space a bit less welcoming. And this is perfectly ok. How nice, honestly, to have a local bar be so much fun. This is not a dive. It is not a place to get yourself wasted while not attracting attention. This is a place to sit at the table with a friend, grab a few drinks and a tasty meal, and spend time with people who are all enjoying the moment together. Tacos are sold a la carte, and cost under $4 each. Chips and salsa are $2, with queso or guacamole running $8 a piece. The menu also includes nachos and a few other appetizers, but the focus is definitely on the tacos. I did order the chips and salsa, and was pleased at the portions and at the value. Refillable chips and three types of salsa for two dollars mean I will order this again. The chips were thin, crispy, and salty, and it was difficult to stop eating them once I started. I ordered three different tacos, and had to explain that I wanted them as a platter, even though they were out of rice and beans. The three taco platter is only $9.99, so ordering it that way saved me $1.50 over ordering the tacos separately. Three tacos plus a basket of chips was more than enough to satisfy my hunger, so I did not miss having the sides. I've now visited again and can say that the sides are nothing I need. They have nowhere near the flavor that the salsa imparts, and I'll likely continue to skip them on future visits. Order and pay at the counter, and then take your number to a table. The drinks are self serve, but I had waitstaff ask me if they could get me a refill when they had time between clearing tables and bringing food. I appreciated the offer, but was happy to stand for a moment. This is a casual dining experience, and it was nice to walk through the dining area and see how many different types of people were there. Tips are not expected, but are appreciated. I asked the owner how tips were handled and was told that they are split. This is useful info, as my table was visited by every member of the waitstaff. If you are interested in a diverse menu of fancy tacos, this place is definitely worth a visit. My meal included a roasted pork taco with plantains, a crab cake taco with remoulade, and a fish taco with red cabbage slaw. If you are looking for a simple taco or a more traditional menu, though, I would head to Taqueria Guadalajara. They also serve their street style tacos a la carte, but for a lower price and with no where near the options. No wrong choice, just a different atmosphere.

We have been here 3 times now and every time just gets better! Staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is amazing! The queso is delicious but the salsa needs some work! The place is extremely clean. My kids love all the different crazy variations of tacos they can choose from. When you go in always check out the special on the board to save you some money!

I have been here twice and, flavor-wise, both times were very good. Although I have not had any alcoholic drinks, a dining companion said her margarita was very good. My two complaints: First, the fish tacos are good, but the portion size is pathetic and not worth the price! Second, one of the (?) waitresses made it quite obvious that she is all about the money (tips). I overheard her confiding in another employee that her flirty methods resulted in "killer tips"; moreover, she said her manager told her to clock out and go home after cleaning the bathrooms...so she was milking it and taking as long as possible to clean them. Hearing someone essentially admit to being a tip/wage wh*re, and then come flirt with me, is a turn-off.

Twisted Taco.... Hmm.... How do I start..... OK first time I went with a friend and had the taco salad. Really wasn't too thrilled with it the taco shell wasn't fully cooked and it was really chewy like eating dough. The rest of the taco salad was fine. So my family was jealous that I came here without them so we came back. This time I tried the 3 taco plate with black beans and rice. We also ordered the chips and salsa. I really tried to like the chips and salsa but some of the chips weren't cooked enough at first I thought they were stale but my husband said no its still shiny and greasy and just wasn't fully cooked. The salsa was OK but wasn't my style. The black beans and rice wasn't something I liked either. The tacos were one of the reasons why I gave this place a 3 star. The tacos weren't bad but they aren't something I would go back for either. When my husband got his plate he ordered a buffalo bill which came with ranch sauce not salsa but when he received it he asked if they were sure this was his plate because none of the tacos had ranch on them. He pointed to one in particular which had salsa and asked if this was the Buffalo bill taco. Lady replied yes the ranch is on the bottom.... Hmm.... OK. When another server brought out my plate it was actually my husband's it had the Buffalo bill on it. My husband asked the new server what the taco with the salsa was because it's not the Buffalo bill. He replied the down under not the Buffalo bill... Now the funny part. My husband said you need to educate the other server what taco is what. Then pointed to the lady that brought out the first plate. The server said yeah we butt heads with her a lot but we can't say anything because she is the owner, and does not know what the tacos are. The end of the comedy came talking to the the half of the owners and he also said that the ranch was on the bottom. There was no ranch on the bottom. We also had a couple of margaritas the Oklahoma thunder and the original. They were OK but not anything special. If you like different tacos you may or may not like this place but if you want truly a good taco I don't really recommend this place.

So here's the Twisted Taco review: Not bad but it was pricey, but I did get full. My 2 chicken tacos, side of tortillas, and a drink was about $12. My brother got queso, 3 tacos, and a drink and his was $19. So for those slow on math that's $31 for 2 people. My bro didn't like anything on his plate. I liked my stuff OK but wasn't wowed by anything. The queso was good but really thick (which is better than too runny) but this was almost like chewing cheese slices. They botched my order (I was supposed to get black beans and crunchy shells) but I'm OK with pintos and soft. I'd probably go there if someone wanted to but probably not on my own. My bro will def not be back. It's a serve yourself joint, as in get your own silverware, S&P, napkins, and drinks. I'm not a huge fan of that if I'm paying wait on me prices.

I must say this place is a keeper for sure. I love tacos and the amount of choices they have are outstanding. My favorite is "The Alaskan" with fried crab cakes. Mmmm. We ordered the "Twisted Queso" yesterday and it was AMAZING!! The chips were warm, fresh, and not salty at all. Perfection.

My Business Partner and I went to Twisted Taco in Lawton, OK for lunch today. First and Last time! My friend had the 2 Cuban Tacos and was not impressed at all. I had a bowl of Nachos and a small skillet of melted cheese with roughly a tea spoon of ground beef in it for $7. Total bill was $21 for two at a taco joint. Neither of us were impressed with the food and especially not the prices. This place will not succeed in Lawton, OK unless they lower the prices to be competitive with Los Tres a block away and many other Mexican restaurants. Twisted Taco is use to a large college town with a massive population. We recommend Aranda's Mexican at 4th and Lee in Lawton. Best Mexican in town and great prices. You will need Google Translator to place your order, but that just makes it more authentic!

Will be coming back here. 2 dollar tacos on Tuesday. They were all good. Only sampled 5 tacos, boom boom, the Greek, the Cuban, the cabo. And the dot remember the last. Food was awesome.

We were there on a Friday evening. The place has a great vibe. Decor is rustic but cool. The staff were attentive, friendly and working hard. You order at the counter then take your number to a table and wait for your food. Great concept, unless it is a busy night. We were there early enough to beat the rush but as we ate the line for tables got longer and longer. There is nothing worse than having people watch you eat while waiting for you to vacate your table. We found ourselves rushing down our drinks, rather than savoring them, so we could make space for the next group. The food was ok. Not fantastic, but not awful either. The rice was very heavily smoked and rather than enhance the dish it made it smell and taste like an ashtray. Not appetizing. The refried beans were tasteless at first bite then finished with some spice. Weird. Black beans were fine. Large variety of tacos and they were pretty good. Regular taco size, that can be mixed and matched to form a two or three taco platter (with the beans and rice). Reasonable value. Try this place for the atmosphere and the variety of margaritas, but if you are looking for delicious Mexican food this may not be the place for you..

Pretty good food. We went in right after they opened at peak time so it was a little bit of a wait but they handled it well.

The food is great but the wait time and service leaves much to be desired. After ordering our food when the restaurant was not busy took forty five mins and to me that was alright, but after getting the first round we decided for more. This time the wait was an hour and twenty mins before we gave up and asked for a check. That in itself took thirty because a manager has to type in a code to take off the food we never got and come to find out there was no manager to be found. The only reason I would go back is when the business was slow because the food was so good.

So I waited in line for 45 min... Just to be told that they did not have take out anymore. Horrible way to start a business.

Great food! Service is new, so expect a few delays. They are there to help ya though! Give it a month and this place will smooth out and be best in town.

I have recently visited twisted taco and let me say this, I was extremely impressed with the staff and the food. This place has only been open for three days and yes there is a wait but everyone and their dog is coming to check it out. With that being said they have ran out of things. It was clear that the staff was hustling trying to keep Tables cleaned off and ready to go for the next customer. These people are working their butts off. I personally have nothing but good vibes about this place. Pricey yes but everything is fresh people. Way cool atmosphere, I say give it a chance before you listen to the negative Nancy's. Great food, good people and they make a mean Ultimate Oklahoma margarita.

We went Friday night . Hoping for some good food and some hangout time . Well all we got was a long wait and frustration . It took about 45 minutes to get our food . Which would have been alright if we didn't hear the kitchen staff yelling and fighting with each other . The servers would ask if you needed anything you would tell them what you needed but would never get it . We had to ask 4 different servers for ranch dressing before we finally received some . It was very interesting to me that the staff was having so much trouble in the kitchen but the manager was on the floor talking to people . We were very disappointed with the service . The food is not worth the head ache . Something else that blew my mind was the fact that they were refusing take out orders on a Friday night . They are playing with fire, people don't want to eat somewhere that is inconsistent. I liked the food ok but my husband will never go back. He says that food cost too much to have service like that.

I give this four stars only because it's a first come seating restaurant instead of waiting to be seated. The food was delicious and so was the margaritas. The restaurant has a rustic feel and look that really appealed to me and my wife. We sat outside inside the screened in patio which there was a lovely cool breeze and that made it even more enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone that loves a good environment along with good food. Oh also wasn't too pricy in my opinion.

What a horrible experience first off we were told there was going to be a 45 minute wait when you walk in the place and then there was hardly ten people in there and our food was ready in about ten minutes we almost left because of the wait time we were told , it is nicely done but the wait staff and management are completely inexperienced the waitstaff was keeping busy doing all kinds of things other than paying attention to the customerthis is not a sitdown restaurant it's more cafeteria style when you walk up to the counter place your order and sit wherever , the food is overpriced and they charge you for every little thing each individual thing you want in addition will cost you extra including asking for extra salsa or cilantro is all a cart and then they charge you for every side every portion of anything you get my burrito was half warm and half cold and was told that's California style I'm sorry stupidest thing I ever heard of ice cold one end warm the other , she said she could replace it and then came back and said that's how they are , everyone that walked in looked befuddled and tried to figure out where to go what to do do we just sit down or what and nobody was there to greet them or tell them where to go only after they stood there for a couple of minutes with one of the waitstaff actually look up and then perhaps walk over and tell them just go over here and order if they didn't have to , we ordered some chips and salsa what they brought out looked like a child's portion for one child my friend asked for salsa verde and we were informed that that will cost extra to go on his tacos this might be an okay place to go and drink a beer although nothing in there is cheap but other than that I wouldn't recommend eating here unless you're ready to pay for some overpriced food that was just so-so lots of big screens and they have a full bar the patio is nice , I basically think this is just a bar with some food but I would eat elsewhere ,

This place hasn't officially opened so I may change my rating at a later date. First, the positives. The tacos are awesome and very delicious, they have Gold Peak Sweet Tea (my absolute favorite sweet tea) and the food was out to us very fast. The cashier and the rest of the staff were very pleasant. Finally, the menu has a ton of options. Now for the negatives, they were out of rice and beans, and pork for the tacos so our visit was mediocre. We were given queso instead of rice and beans and were not offered tortillas instead of chips even though I later noticed it was an option on the menu. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, so maybe not a big deal. The chips here have a great taste and pleasant texture, but they are WAY too salty. I had to tap salt off of each chip and they still tasted too salty to give you an idea of what I am talking about. Do yourself and your fellow customers a favor and make sure to look at their menu on their web site before you go in. I'll check this place out a bit after they have opened and update the star rating if I feel it is necessary.

A superior Los Tres Amigos with a legitimate bar and great happy hour drink prices. The Big Jake burrito is extremely filling and the Tacos look delicious. They have lots of TVs around for sports/events too if you want to watch a fight or big game with friends.

Was here yesterday for the first time we ordered the nachos in the appetizer section. We chose steak for our nachos which is $1.99 extra :/ we literally got like 8 tiny squares of steak and a whole lot of dried chips with no sour cream or salsa!!! Only thing I liked was my margarita! Not coming back!

I feel like I need to update my review after getting a to-go order from The Twisted Taco. I got the three taco platter with the Boom Boom Shrimp, the Argentinian, and the Down Home. The down home shrimp was delicious and my favorite of the three. I would recommend it to anyone who likes shrimp tacos. My least favorite was the Argentinian, it was greasy. The rice has vastly improved. It tasted nice and it wasn't a ball of crusty mush like last time. I got the refried beans this time and I wasn't a fan. I definitely recommend the black beans over the refried beans.

Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was great. If I had to give you an idea of the place in 3 words it would be Twisted Backporch Taco. I went twice and order the same thing to get a better feel and idea for just how consistent the meal & staff is. I ordered the chicken and beef Fajitas. Only concern was closing time is 10pm. on was visit I arrived just after 9 and was allowed to finish, guess I just wasn't ready. I was enjoying that place. Can't wait til spring o open up the wall and patio and see what drink specials they have.

Eh... It was ok. Order was wrong but got a free food. Food didn't really taste fresh. Most of the peppers on my fajitas were burnt. Too many different servers and too often asking if we were good. Could've been a little more organized with that. Receipts should be itemized. Atmosphere was ok, but the music was a little too loud for it still being dinner time. Probably won't go back there.

This was our first time at twisted taco. I ordered the tacos and my husband ordered the taco salad. We also got the chips. The salsas were delicious. We were waiting for our food for awhile and starting to get concerned. However the manager (owner?) came over without us saying anything and apologized with and order of queso. Our order had gotten messed up and they took the time to get us a fresh order. The waitresses checked on us and kept our chips food. The tacos were fresh and delicious and the salad was a great size and my hubby loved. Next we'll go back to try the drinks.

My first impressions of this place are good. It's new of course so it's clean. A little small but, definitely has that Sports Bar fill too it after getting about 10' in the door. I agree with other reviewers that this is family friendly during the day and probably after dark it's time to leave the kids home. Although it was rather quiet the night I was in and I wouldn't have a problem bringing teens with me. I can see where it could easily get loud in here when the crowd is bigger. I did a quick browse of the menu. Lots to choose from. I was looking for a taste to sample here. Will explore more of the menu on the next visit. I went with a Two Taco Platter comprised of any Taco from the menu with Beans & Rice. I chose the 'The Hills Run Red' and 'The Argentinian'. I opted for Refried Beans, over Black Beans, with the Rice. The Taco's are offered Crunchy or Soft. The 'Hills' Taco is their version of the standard Taco with ground beef. The twist was the Queso, which added a really nice kick to each bite. Very tasty. Definitely want to give that one another try. :-) The 'Argentinian' is a grilled steak Taco with their Chimichurri sauce. It was tasty as well but, dripped a lot of oil. So be sure to hold a napkin under it. It comes without lettuce, so it's a little lighter in appearance. I'm sure you can request lettuce though. It was good but, I'll put it back in the rotation to try again after I try some others from the menu. There are 18 Taco options on the menu: 4 Chicken, 2 Pork, 6 Beef, and 6 Seafood ... although I don't know if you can mix and change the meats between options? Some places are sticklers for "as is on the menu", don't know if they are here?? The platter option comes with Beans and Rice. I've gotta say, this is the first time I have ever truly enjoyed Refried Beans. They were flavored just right with a wee kick to them. Or was it just me?? I liked them for once, so that says something. :-) The rice was okay, nothing outstanding this time. Overall, a good experience and I will go back to try more.

I came down from KC to visit some friends and we had lunch here. The menu was a little confusing at first (I didn't know you could mix and match tacos). You order at the counter, grab a spot, and they bring your food over. I opted for two soft shell pulled pork tacos with the black beans and rice platter. It was love at first bite. The pork was soft and the coleslaw on top made my tacos a juicy, runny, and beautiful mess. If it wasn't faux pas, I straight up would have licked everything off my platter and taco rack. My bestie ordered a salad and it was even HUGE. Their margaritas are good as it went nicely with our food, and the bartender even made it a little stronger. Staff was very attentive and checked on us several times throughout our experience. This place was awesome!

The restaurant is set up so you order food to the left and they bring it to your table, or you sit at the bar and order food and drinks. Taco Tuesday's have two dollar tacos with a wide selection. My top two: buffalo bill and the Cuban. Buffalo bill tastes like redhot wings. The Cuban is so soft and melts in your mouth with an added sweetness from the plantains. My least favorite was the black and bleu; the bleu cheese was too over powering. The greek tastes like your typical gyro, just in taco disguise. Recommend the southwest chicken roll appetizer. Thursday is awesome trivia night with prizes for winners and participants. Loads of fun!
