This place was pretty lacking as far as service went. The food was ok, but nothing really impressive.

Used to kind of like this place. Food is not great but the margaritas are. However, that they charged us for chips and cheese sauce whether we ate it or not was a big turn off. The manager had an oh well attitude so that tells me they could give a crap about the customer. Same old Lawton attitude.....merchants don't really care because in their mind, there are only a few places to eat out.....take it or leave it. Nobody cares. So we will NOT be going back and neither will our family. Too bad too. We ate there with the family, 12 or more at the table, at least once a month, and just our small family about 2-3 times a month besides that. If the management does not care about the customer, why should I pay for substandard food and treatment. Don't waste your time. Go to Taco Bell. Food tastes better and the management gives a crap about customer service.

Had heard good things. Am in Lawton on travel for 9 days- so am in need of some good places to eat out. This IS NOT one of them. The queso was terrible- no taste, just "cheese colored". Ordered the Chimichanga dinner- was really disappointed in the small pile of rice, beans that had formed a film over them, spoonful of sour cream that accompanied the over-cooked chimichangas that were doused in that awful queso. Dinner companions enjoyed their margaritas. Ambiance is nice- that's really the only nice thing I can think of to say.

Wow. We started off with this yellow stuff they call cheese and chips. The jury is still deciding on what that yellow sauce was but it wasn't cheese. Food was way overpriced. Bland, tasteless, nasty. Taco Bell would have been much better in taste, quality, and price. We go out to have something better then what we can make at home. My 5 year old can make better Mexican food than this place. I am warning you not to go here so if you waste your money then it's your fault not mine.

So I am thinking you cannot really expect quality Mexican food in this area and I think I am right. Really. I have lived all over the southwest, and compared to that, it really is bland, and Tex-Mex at best. Salsa....whatever. Queso....watery. Ambiance...pretty damn cool for Lawton OK! On to the positives!!! Caldo de camarón... It is simply erotic. I cannot describe how fantastical this soup is. Do yourself a favor friends. Grab a big a$$ margarita, order the Caldo de camarón, and enjoy a treat. The staff is very professional. The female manager I see from time to time is the best. She is very attentive and always takes care of the customers. One of the better places to eat in Lawton, OK.

Best Mexican food and best margaritas in Lawton. I'm surprise to see that there aren't many reviews posted on this place. Is not like is short of customers. The place gets more business than Chili's across the street. Everything in the menu is delicious.

I don't get why people love this place. The food is bland and tasteless. I'd rather go to taco bell. You want good Mexican food then go to Las Margaritas.

  • Leona A.

Salsa tastes canned, the queso is watered down, the food is bland, NO MARGARITAS because of a liquor license issue, no kids activity page to keep them busy, and the service slow. On the upside, the chips were good and the colorful chairs are festive. Restrooms were clean and working.

This is another place where the sit you at a table and food is instantly brought to you. It's easy to polish off a bowl of chips, salsa and cheese before you make your drink order. It's on of the few Mexican Restaurants in town where you can find Horchata. IF you get pass the Horchata and Chips you will find a satisfying meal there also. The drinks are great. I can never finish more than 1 Margarita. Where at Chilli's I can do about 2-3. They have a decent selection of bottled beer. Its comes pretty small and is not imported. So you have to alright with drinking Oklahoma's 3% alcohol content. If you can make it through these then go for the Sopapillas to round off an (almost) authentic Mexican Dining Experience.

pretty good mexican food. I think i like this place for the atmosphere more than the food though. it's a great place to take company who come from out of town or an after church meal. food is good, but it's a neat little local place.

The food was just okay. Not bad, but not great. The chips and salsa served at the beginning was one of the meal highlights. There was a pretty large selection. The guacamole was definitely not good guacamole. It tasted like something that came from a jar. My husband tried one of their signature margaritas and said that it was way too sweet. He did not finish it. The service definitely fell short. Our server did not once clear anything from our table. I finally moved the empty dishes and glasses from our table to a neighboring table (we were out of space once our food was delivered) and it wasn't cleared from there until they brought somebody to the table to be seated. Given the other options in the area, I'm not sure that we would eat there again when we visit the area.

I eat at Mexican restaurants all the time, but I was not impressed here. The restaurant is clean and festive looking, but that's where the positive comments end. The "salsa" is watered down generic salsa, and the "queso" they serve with the chips is Velveeta watered down with 95% water. The food was extremely bland, and some people at our table couldn't even tell what it was they were supposed to be eating. Service was not great, the server never remembered to bring anything over we asked and then billed another table to our tab. Go to Taco Bell for better food. Oh, and since they moved, as of the date of this review they can only serve light beer (no margaritas).

When I lived in Lawton I used to frequent the Los Tres Amigos on Gore, but this time when we were in town we stopped at the one on Cache. This is decent Mexican, not wonderful, and overpriced. The interior decor is cool/funky and so touristy "Mexican." When we were there it was very crowded so the food took a long time to come out. We noticed a large party of 12 that was seated after us and was served before the three of us. The chips and salsa are standard, but hot and fresh. Our server was brand new and extremely nervous. He checked on us literally every two minutes during the meal...I think we were his only table and he was maybe 17. We kept telling him he was doing fine yet he still apologized frequently for not filling our drinks quickly enough...it had been TWO minutes since he last saw us! LOL he tried and hopefully he got more relaxed as a server. Lawton is a 100% military town, but no military discount.

I live in Dallas and I haven't found anywhere that compares to this place! We seriously eat here every time we come to town! If you want a VARIETY of dishes, and not just 10 different types of enchiladas, you'll be happy here. If you're the type of person that always orders the same boring generic tex mex meal (taco, chimichanga, burrito, enchiladas...) you may be disappointed so just save yourself and go to Taco Mayo/Bueno/Bell down the road because there are MUCH better dishes on the menu. It's definitely NOT "fake Mexican food," the owners are Mexican and the cooks are also Hispanic. Free chips and salsa and free sopapillas with each meal! The service is average for the town. Sorry folks, but Lawton service industry workers aren't the friendliest bunch. If you get a good server, tip them accordingly!

Wasn't very good. Food was bland and it's way over priced. I would search for other similar places and give them a try.

This is for people who smoke and can't taste food. The queso is almost like cream of chicken soup. The #18 quesadilla plate was something you could get at taco cabana and the sour cream chicken enchilada had barely any taste at all. If you can swing a meal without a Margarita (I'm scared to spend money on one) go to taco bell and save some money.

This place is ridiculously disgusting! I don't know how this can be considered Mexican food. Even The agua de horchata was nasty, it tasted like crap. The "kayso" as the waitress said looked gross and had no taste. By the way it's " Queso ". My husband and I took my little brother who was graduating basic training here because he was craving Mexican food. Not only did they get his order wrong, but the service was poor. I had to get up to ask for anything. As a customer why should I get out of my seat for some service? If you're thinking about getting Mexican food you're better off next door at taco mayo . I'm sure it's better than this. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

As far as Mexican food goes, this place is pretty average, but seems to be a staple in Lawton. I preferred their cache rd. location when it was still around, but the east and west spots do ok. The service is usually good, but can have the occasional hick up. The food is not amazing, but for what it is, it is good. I do love the cheese enchiladas, but the sides feel like something out of a box. The chips and cheese are always good, along with the salsa. Drinks are fairly priced and come in generous portions. Honestly if you are willing to drive to OKC, you can find much better spots: Chilenos and Teds. Los Tres serves decent food for a decent price, and for that I give 3 stars. Also, my personal preference: the East side location is better.

The service here was great, the atmosphere fun and the food was delicious. I had the street steak tacos and they were amazing! The portion was wonderful and they even added grilled jalapeño per my request. I suggest you order one of their margaritas! It was a great accompaniment to my tacos. My husband had the chiminga meal and was very pleased. The meat was seasoned just right and the outside was perfectly fried and not greasy. The chips were good, the cheese sauce was just alright but the salsa was a little watery but very fresh. We will definitely be returning.

Huge drinks! Complimentary chips, salsa, queso and bean dip delivered right after we sat down. Fast service.

Good Mexican food without busting your budget. My favorite dish is the fried chili rellenos. I also like their ground beef enchiladas and tamales. Good atmosphere, good quick service and good food.

This might not be the worst place to eat, but it is pretty darn bad for Mexican food. The food is lifeless and bland (I think I'm being redundant) absolutely mediocre. Rather than eat here go get a bag of Frito's and canned bean dip and save yourself the trip here.

We had a mix of Mexican an American foods. The food was average. The service was average. The cleanliness was average. Nothing special or bad to remark on.

A nice average place. Bland cheese good cheese enchilada and mexican quesadilla. Owners are Latinos. Those who serve chips can't speak English. They can be slow or fast depending on many factors. It's a nice place to sit and chat. Looking for good food? Don't go here. But it is fresh most of the time. Ask me about my poblano that had black spots and n it and they tried to pass that off as normal.

This place is pretty disgusting. I can't remember the last time I could visually see and taste how poor of quality the meal was. No effort or flavor put into the meal. We got chimichangas, chicken enchiladas, and a beef taco. All tasted the same: like nothing.

Fast, great service. The price is a bargain for the quality of the food. I had the Steak Tampiquena tonight. It's a nice tender ribeye with 2 types of enchiladas , rice, and ranchero beans. Nice deal at $13.99. I wish they would have something besides sopapillas for dessert.

I've had better Mexican food in Virginia! The "cheese sauce" they give you with chips & salsa at the beginning was nasty...didn't taste like cheese at all, and in fact, we had to ask our server what it was! The steak fajita queso was just steak with melted cheese on it. Our entrees also left quite a bit to be desired, especially for the price they charge. Won't be going back at all!

Sorry Oklahoma, but Mexican food is so much better in Colorado! Salsa was bland and runny. Spinach enchiladas also bland. Margarita was quite good, which helped make the experience enjoyable. Finished up with sopapillas, which were too dense and dry (almost like a bad donut) - I like mine fluffy and big!

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Oklahoma! They have the BEST set up I think I have EVER tasted. Me and a friend are both in the army reserves and come to town once per month for the last 3 years and we go there EVERY TIME we are in town. I love their shrimp soup. Just the right spice, salt, and flavor.

Cute little Mexican restaurant in Lawton. Deceptively larger on the inside than the outside would suggest. I recommend the shrimp tacos. The shrimp were cooked slightly more well done than I would've preferred, but the flavor is definitely there. Large portions, and the tacos were light without being too over-filling. Waitress was really attentive and polite, and the complementary dessert at the end of the meal was delightful.

Great Great food. The service was super fast and the waitress we had was very friendly. She took down my drink order wrong and when I told her, she felt horrible and brought me a free drink. So even if there is a problem, they will take care of it right away. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people and large parties. All in all, I thought it was very good and will stop in again.

Giving them one star because there is no option for 0 stars. The food was horrible and the service was worse. Asked the waiter what was good here and he replied that he doesn't like Mexican food. After working at a place like this I wouldn't like Mexican food either. He could have at least made something up.... Either way not sure if I will come again

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
