Atlanta Bread Company is like a Panera Bread. There are soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods. I had the Turkey Avacado and french onion soup. Both items were mediocre. Nothing special about them. The place is busy on a Sunday afternoon when the church rush comes in. It is a good lunch spot to meet a friend. I will have to go back to try other items. The ordering is a bit weird. You can order SELECT items and soups for a little bit more cash. I like the place was trying to nickel and dime me with the select soup, sandwiches, and salads.

Holy cow, I do not think I have ever seen this many reviews written for an establishment in Lawton. I have been to Atlanta Bread Company several times. The interior décor is nice and relaxing. I like the atmosphere w/ free Wi-Fi and a few televisions. It might be a little pricier than a Pandera, but not too much. There is also a seating area outside that looks like a nice place to sit when the weather isn't so stinking hot or windy. I haven't learned when that particular season is in Oklahoma!

favorite place for breakfast! I love their Bella chicken sandwich! Their espresso is waaay better than Starbucks! People are friendly and everything is always fresh and delicious!

3.5 stars, rounded up because they support the community. Atlanta Bread is as close as I've found to a "downtown cafe" vibe in Lawton. They are busiest at lunch, when the business community needs good food fast. Things slow down at dinner time, but the tables fill with small groups holding meetings. A book club here, the local philosophy group over there, and the staff keeps a lively pace. The menu is vast, and good. Not great, but big enough to fill just about any food craving. I've asked the cashier to recommend an item on more than one occasion, and even an unexpected choice was tasty enough to make me happy. They also have a small, but appreciated, kids menu. My only true critique of the restaurant is the ordering system. This isn't fast food, but it also isn't a full cafe. You order at a counter, collect a number, and your food is brought to you. At the end of your meal, however, the restaurant is generally busy enough that you will want to clear your own table. There is no convenient way to leave a tip on a cleared table, but no tip jar is available at the registers. It is confusing, and frustrates me more than I'd like. My other complaint is one of taste, but it is my own issue, and can be adjusted to suit. Dressings here are sweet. Sauces are sweet. Soups are sweet. Large portions of the menu are junk food dressed up as a healthy alternative. Example- salmon salad, yay! Salmon salad dripping in a syrupy salsa dressing, boo! Yes, I can simply ask for the dressings to be on the side, but I'd love a calorie count in a visible place. I will remain a regular at Atlanta Bread for as long as I live in Lawton. You can find me here as part of the evening "club" crowd, drinking coffee and deciding what to try next.

No ginger dressing for the chopsticks salad. No Brie cheese for the Chardonnay Brie salad. Not a good experience.

Panera like for me since I'm from Chicago... Tried the chocolate toffee cookie And it was good.. Nothing special. Staff was very friendly and nice... Salad and pizza were a solid good

My husband and I had lunch here yesterday, the food was really good, we both had the Asian salad then we got a chocolate chip cookie & a mini fruit croissant, he liked the cookie best but I referred the croissant, but both were really good. We will be back.

Place wasn't too bad. It really reminded me of Panera really. Food was really good, but a bit pricey. I could see myself coming back but only if I really craved it. Things they could improve on would be food wait time and just compensating for the price to food quantity ratio.

This Atlanta bread is in a great location!! Easy access and exit mixed with fast and friendly service and good food, makes a good experience every time I go!!! Though I do not go as much since last year when their portion sizes got smaller. if you do make it up there make sure to join their rewards program..

Great food & great service! There aren't a whole lot of choices in Lawton, if you want something quick & good for you...this place fit the bill! I went there twice during my 2 day visit!

If you like good sandwiches, soups and salads... This is the place for you!!!! My standard fare it the "Half and Half" which includes your choice of any two: soup, half sandwich, or half salad. I usually get the ABC Special sandwich (Roast beef, turkey, honey ham, provolone, pepperoncini, lettuce, onion, mayo and spicy mustard on a baguette - very hearty crust on the baguette but soft on the inside) and the Chopstix Chicken Salad (grilled chicken on a bed of romaine with Mandarin oranges, chow mein noodles, almonds, and tomato in a sesame-ginger dressing). Although I could eat more than a half sandwich (it is so well balanced in ingredients and taste and I love the baguettes) the salad is a good size and I never feel hungry after eating this combo. On another occasion I tried a loaf of the White Cheddar Poblano Soup --- It was amazing!!!! And the sourdough bread bowl was pretty good too! I've tried other things here (the pastries/deserts are extremely dangerous for those trying to watch their weight!! So watch out if you get near that area) and have never been disappointed. They also do breakfast and I've heard it's good, but never made it there around that time of the day. For those familiar with and/or missing Panera Bread... there isn't one in Lawton, but ABC should take care of your cravings for that kind of food and environment quite well!!! Great food! Definitely worth it!

Never again. First time here. I went for lunch and it was way over crowded. The place was dirty. The food was mediocre. I would not recommend this to anyone. At least the one here in Lawton.

Good food, somewhat pricey, but you get what you pay for. Show up early, will have a tendency to get packed around lunch time.

I went to Atlanta Bread Company in Lawton, OK on a Monday for lunch. I don't usually review chain restaurants, but this one does not have any franchises in my neck of the woods, so I thought not everyone would know about them. If you have been to a Panera, this is very similar. If you don't know either, then read on. Food I ordered what is called a "Half and Half," a lunch special that can two of the following three dishes: Half a Sandwich; Half a Salad; A Cup of Soup (as opposed to a bowl). There were dozens of sandwich choices, so I picked something "easy", Chicken Salad sandwich. There were also about six soup choices. I chose French Onion Soup. There were also a great number of salad options. Perhaps next time... In addition to soup, salad and sandwich, the menu had pizza, pasta and breakfast (served all day) options, as well as a children's menu. There were a fair number of vegetarian options. It was all very tasty and reasonable priced. Nothing more than $7.00 Environment It has a very good location, near the intersection of two busy streets. Two walls of the restaurant are composed of glass windows, slightly tinted, but still provides a lot of light for a very bright cheerful atmosphere. Dress can be very casual. There are regular tables, with chairs or booths. There are also cafe tables and chairs which are a little higher. There is also outdoor seating but it was a very hot day so everyone who was eating in stayed inside where it was cool. Bar Alcohol is not served at this establishment. Service There is no table service. You pay, pick up your food when it is ready, and bus your own dishes when you are done. The cashier was very polite and helpful when I ordered. After I paid for my food, she gave me a pager so I could sit down while I waited for my food and not have to listen to someone yell "number 13's ready?" The lady to whom I returned the pager was also very polite. Overall Recommendation If you would like to get a quick, healthy sandwich and soup, this is the place to go. It is conveniently located, so you can get in, get out, etc. etc. Or if you want to kick back with some friends or colleagues, you can do that too. The menu is varied enough that you can go with almost anyone.

I think its pretty good, kinda crowded around meal times and little pricey but not bad if you want something different.. serivice could be little better

The Emperor's new clothes. The food is manufactured elsewhere, service is nonexistent, the dining room has been filthy every time I've been there. I don't understand the appeal.

Cant decide what i disliked the most...The bad attitude's cramped interior...The bums eating out of the trashcans.hmmmm..the over priced tasteless food..the dirty filthy torn up mens room..the dirty floor and over full trashcans...Gee i dont know, just cant put my finger on it.

A crappier, more expensive version of Panera Bread. All we have in Lawton if you want a salad or sandwich.

If you've walked into Atlanta Bread - Lawton at any given point during the past 5 months (July 2010 - November 2010) and seen an asian guy messing around on a laptop with or without a mountain of charts/tables/maps/transparencies/doohickies/pens/pencils/Klingon-Battle-Axes...then you probably saw me. I'm a native Los Angelean (LA-er? LA person? whatevers). A foodie. A student. I've been here in Lawton studying...uh..."projectile mechanics" (amongst other things). It's been a lot of hard work. It's been a lot of pain. It's been a lot... ...of sitting around Atlanta Bread. Relaxing environment; adequate lighting; free WiFi with lots of power outlets (once you find them underneath the seats). Workers were all really friendly to me. Really enjoyed getting to know them...and they have all been really supportive of me. It's nice...being in a strange city...and having friendly faces being willing to greet you and ask you about your day. =) So yeah: it's probably the same Atlanta Bread that you'll encounter in just about any other city (though it's the first that I've been to). However, the workers have really made this place for me. While I doubt I'll miss much of my schooling-experience, I will always think fondly of Atlanta Bread - Lawton. Kenny P [now...off to Colorado!]

Atlanta bread is overpriced in my opinion but it also the best Lawton has to offer - sadly. The sandwiches are average. Your not going to be blown away by what you order here. The bread is good, the ingredients are decent as well, but nothing there will really wow you. There really aren't too many sandwich shops in Lawton so they really don't have to compete. The only really competitors - chains like subway, quiznos, and gandolfo's - don't compete directly with ABC. Personally i usually get my sandwich fix at subway because it close to where i live/work and is cheaper, but when i occasionally want something different i will go to ABC.

It's Lawton, so it's about as good as it gets in regards to bread-co's. The food is okay, but every time I've been there, the place looks dirty and I always need to bus the tables myself. It would work better as a take-out.

    (3)
  • Jennifer M.

They recently remodeled the seating area and it feels even more crowded than it did before. And since this is Lawton's hot lunch spot expect a long line during the noon rush. Also I don't consider ABC to be younger kid friendly with limited menu choices and crowded space for high chairs.

  • Kat E.

The atmosphere is great....live music occasionally and its usually buzzing with business people in a hurry to get their lunches and leave. The baked goods area was awesome. The coffee isn't anything special o talk about, neither are the smoothies, they are good, but they aren't the best, either. The food is relatively fast, but pretty overpriced for what you get.

Out in SW Oklahoma, there aren't a lot of fantastic places to eat. We caught this place on the way back from a 3-day road trip to Quartz Mountain and concluded that it was the best food we'd had since we left OKC. the baked goods are ery fresh, the sandwiches are delicious, and the iced tea is freshly brewed. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the soup. I got the potato soup and it seemed canned. No cheese or bacon that typically top it, so I was a bit underwhelmed. Overall, great place to grab a quick lunch!

It's no Panera. But if you are looking for its lower quality-more expensive cousin...this is it. But as far as Lawton goes it's a better quality than most places. I was told the Caramel Macchiato was better than at Starbucks...Fail. But the pastry selection is good. So overall its s good place to catch a bite if you don't mind the prices.

I usually eat at Panera Bread. I ate at an Atlanta Bread in Columbus, GA and I was not impressed. I was impressed with this Atlanta Bread. It was refreshing to see a more diverse menu than I'm used to as some Panera breads have gone downhill in my opinion ex: the one in Southern Pines, NC. Everything I tried so far was delicious. The beef chili soup was really good although I'm not a fan of chili. I particularly LOVE the antipasto salad. Such delicious deli meat in one salad is rare. It usually cost a lot more. I ordered this one a few times. I love the almond pastry and the cubano sandwich was really good. The turkey avocado sandwich was tasty and light. They also do pretty well when you order some type of coffee beverage from the menu. The flavor is consistent no matter who prepares it which is surprising. I ate there quite a few times as you can see when I first got to Lawton not long ago. The price is decent and you have a wide variety to choose from depending what your taste buds are dictating to you that day. The restaurant could have been cleaner but it did not make me worry about the food coming out. It's usually really busy and the tables are full, at least at peak hours.

Heard its Lawton's best bagels in town. It tasted okay. I like Panera much better which has no store here in Lawton. The employee is very good on the phone about taking orders and very professional. When I get there in the morning, they have my order on the list but the bagels pack has not been prepared, they started to pick them from the basket and cut them one by one with knife. It took a lot longer than I thought. I might be wrong. It does not seem they are that busy at the time and I was the only customer. I guess productivity is what they needed. The cream cheese was heavy. I can hardly finish the second bagel and decided to skip lunch after.

Atlanta Bread Company is a different and fresh addition to Lawton's restaurant scene. It certainly stands out from the large number of Chinese and Korean buffet houses and multitude of fast food places. If you have adopted a vegan diet, you'll find more on the menu here. There's lots of soups, salads, sandwiches, a coffee bar, pastries and more. The food is good and reasonably priced (around the $10 range per person). The restaurant's atmosphere is very casual, but a significant step above any fast food place. There's lots of blond wood fixtures and tastefully restrained graphics on menus. Think of a Starbucks, but expanded into more of a full blown restaurant. Lawton is about to get its first Starbucks, but Atlanta Bread Co. will manage. One key advantage is the free WiFi Internet access. Starbucks now charges you for theirs (through some deal they made with T-Mobile). You don't have to deal with that nonsense with Atlanta Bread Co. Just fire up your notebook and immediately start surfing the Internet, or just getting some work done. A second location, Atlanta Bread Cafe Express, opened a few months ago on Old Cache Road on Lawton's west side. Its menu is more basic, but it does have free WiFi Internet access. Oh, one more observation: Lots of people in Lawton complain about their city being the last to get anything "good." There isn't any Atlanta Bread locations elsewhere in the state. Not in OKC, Tulsa, Norman, Edmond, etc. At least not yet. Lawton was first.

Usually ok here but today the Chinese chicken salad had wilted lettuce. Had them remake it and they used the old wilted lettuce from the same bin

I was here 10 years ago and the place still looks good, and he chow is still great. Pricey, but what do you expect for all the specialties. Best soup I've had in Lawton. Sandwiches are great.

It's a shame that this place is closing down. They had a great menu and very healthful food. It was always packed and they served their food in a quick and timely manner. I will always remember post-gym salads with soup here. You will be remembered ABC.

I'm not gonna lie. I can't get enough of the California Avocado sandwich from Atlanta Bread Co. It is absolutely wonderful and I LOVE IT. But I'm also not going to lie about the service at this restaurant. It is horrendous...awful I tell you. Every time I've placed an order it has been wrong. I am always ordering for five people and sometimes they leave out whole meals, sometimes they leave out all the sides, sometimes they just screw up the meals or give us things that we didn't order and it is never just a simple fix. It is NEVER correct and the people that work here are not bright and they are not kind. Every time I've told them the order is wrong, it's almost as if they want to argue with me about it, or have me stand in a line full of people to place the order that they messed up on. No, Atlanta Bread, that's not how it works. If your food weren't so good, I would absolutely not put up with your terrible employees. Get it together!

While I like the food, the service here isn't the worst I've seen at any ABC store. They couldn't even decide if it was possible to put sliced pickle on a sandwich without asking the manager. It's a good thing I like the other ABC stores I've been to because this one would not be a good first impression. In the future, I'll just be picking up the bread and beagles I like and I won't bother with the kitchen or the staff behind the counter.

This is Lawton's alternative to Panera or Corner Bakery. I love cafechains like this (because I'm a huge Panera fan at the least), but it's also hard for me to love new ones because I tend to compare them to places like Panera. Pastries: Delicious. I had the cherry cheesecake pastry once and it was fresh and delicious. Breakfast: HUGE portions. I had an omelette with potatoes and it was quite a big portion. The potatoes were a bit overdone, but still a good flavor to them. Also had a bagel sandwich and it was pretty decent. I never tried a sandwich although my friend said hers was mediocre. I also tried their margherita pizza and it was no bueno. I think I got a stomachache from it afterward. Good luck on ordering something you enjoy and hope it excites your tastes buds more than it did mine. Worth a try?

Let me set the scenario. My wife and I are standing in line, the place is not busy at all. In front of us is 1 person running and helping someone else at the register, and to our left is a lady looking at the menu. The manager "Michelle" approaches, and asks the lady looking at the menu if she had been helped. The lady gives the universal turnaround "no I am fine but the people behind me" and Michelle just turns around and walks off.... Returning only a few mins later (now my wife and I are at the register) to ask the lady once again if she needs help, then proceeds to take her order. Nothing like being ignored by a manager, blatant disrespect. Way to go Atlanta Bread.

Price not bad. The bottom of my kid's pizzas were covered in bitter, burnt bread or cheese. Too bad because the sauce was great. Our sandwiches were ok. Kinda tasteless, and flavorless... I may give them another try...

Panera it is not! I have been in Lawton 2 weeks for work and so far all the places I have eaten at have been surprisingly good! really wanted to try the bagel place in town but they are closed on Sunday (really??) a coworker told me this place was good and although the yelp reviews weren't very positive I gave them a chance! Big mistake! I ordered the the turkey sandwich, which is served on nine grain bread and has avocado and bacon. Well the sandwich was not good at all! They turkey was so cold it was like they took it out of the freezer, the avocado was freezing too! I get that I ordered a cold sandwich but I didn't realize that meant ice cold!!
