Roma's is good. They do a good job of creating Italian food. The waiter staff has a short patience level and are NOT very friendly or helpful. If you can get past the service part of the meal you should try Roma's. I plan to eat there again and when I do I will update my review.

Roma's is a family owned and operated restaurant serving GREAT authentic Italian food. I like the big chains (Olive Garden, Zio's, etc.) just fine but seriously, there is no comparison. Roma's is the real deal...REAL Italian food served up with REAL Italian hospitality. You would think this was the North End of Boston not Guthrie, Oklahoma. We live about 40 miles away from this restaurant but I am sure we will make many trips back. If you find yourself any where near Guthrie, Oklahoma don't miss out on this place!

This place is another one that you could tell was good before you even pull into the parking lot. The place was packed. We got out of the car and smelled the aromas and even if we had not already known by the number of cars, we knew then that it was going to be great. I had a dish that I can't remember the name of, but it was chicken with spaghetti with an Alfredo and mushroom sauce. AMAZING!!! My husband ordered Spaghetti the works. It had meatballs, sausage, mushrooms, and ground beef. I tasted it too, and mmm was it good. We did not order an appetizer due to planning to order a dessert. However, the salad, bread, and huge portions of food, made us quickly realize that dessert was not something we wanted to even try. The choices were there and before ordering the meal, we had picked out what each of us would get. But well, we were so full, that we were not able to clean our plates. Though we tried. Oh yes, we tried. Inside, the dining area, it was cute. Had little alcoves for the booths painted white with vines all around. The tvs were a bit distracting to me, as I think with the quality of the food, this place could be a nice romantic secluded eating areas kind of place for couples. We also had trouble with the navigator trying to take us way out north of town when we clicked the yelp directions link. So, be careful of that. You want to find this place, so don't give up. It is south of town, not north.

I went and ate with my grandma here. I'm in town from CO and we really enjoyed the outing. The portions were good and the price point was do-able. The salad bar is really just a place to build your own house salad as they don't have many options, but wouldn't deter me from coming back. All in all good Italian food. I wouldn't say authentic but still good. I recommend it and would probably go back to try something new. My grandma loved her minestrone soup it had a lot of yummy veggies. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was good but could of use a bit more seasoning in my opinion.

Roma's catered the wedding that we had at our business last night. First time that they have been out....the food was outstanding and the staff was great! We have weddings every weekend, so I get to work with a lot of different caterers and experience the food that they bring. This was some of the best food ever, and from the total of their bill, I thought the pricing was extremely reasonable...

After hearing some pretty good things about Roma's, we decided our Friday date night would bring us here. Hubby ordered the Chicken cacciatore and I had the lasagne...that's my standard measuring stick for a good Italian restaurant. As we made this a double date night with my father in law, he ordered the special, which was chicken with shrimp in Alfredo sauce, and his friend ordered the chicken parmesan. All of our means came with the salad bar, so off we went to get our green on. First, I'm hesitant to all it a salad bar..it's more like a lettuce bar. A few toppings, like Tomato slices, green olives, onions, croutons, pasta, and dill pickles (yep, dill pickles!) and a few dressings were there. I took some lettuce, a little onion and some croutons and opted for the house italian. It was red, so I was thinking it would be like a Catalina. BOY WAS I WRONG! It tasted like someone took tomato paste and made cocktail sauce. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! Dad was the wise one and skipped the salad bar...maybe he was holding out on us and had been there before??? HMMMMM Thank heavens the rolls were warm and decent and came with REAL butter! They helped to get that taste out of my mouth. Our meals arrived quickly and we gladly gave up our salad plates as the table was small and didn't have a lot of room for four dinner plates, salad plates, water and wine glasses and a bread basket. We all dug in and the general consensus was that everyone's meals were "OK" or "Fine, but mine was mediocre at best. Each of their dishes were smothered in sauce, far more than is needed...my husbands pasta looked like it was swimming in an ocean of sauce. My lasagne wasn't the layers of pasta, cheese, and meat I expect from a good Italian cook. Rather it was a few pieces of noodles, a little cheese, a small amount of meat, some cheese and way too sweet sauce. *sigh* We did try a cannoli for dessert...the best part of the meal!! The shell was freshly made and crisp and the filling was smooth, creamy and had a hint of cinnamon. THAT won me over a bit more, it just couldn't make up for the lasagne. Maybe being from the New York metro area, where Italian food reigns supreme and is always made fresh, has made it hard for me to enjoy it anywhere other than there or Italy. But maybe hubby summed it up best when he said, "Next time, don't order the cheapest thing on the menu!" Trust me, we will give them another shot as Dad lives in Guthrie and there aren't a lot of choices in town...but it won't be any time soon!

Was very surprised to have such a good Italian restaurant in such a small town. The eggplant parmesan was very good. My wife had Black Forest Cheesecake that you like very much.

Most excellent Italian food! Most excellent service! Spaghetti w/meat sauce is the real deal. Trio is great sample of 3 more delicious entrées. Homemade bread is awesome as is their strawberry cheesecake! Highly recommend for "date night"!

I was hoping for more after reading some good reviews of this place, but we were pretty disappointed. The service was okay, but the waitress didn't seem to know the specials or the menu hardly at all. Perhaps she was new? Well, that didn't matter so much, but the food was disappointing (which DID matter). My husband got the Chicken Cacciatore, and it was mediocre. I got one of the specials--spinach ravioli & chicken in alfredo/marinara sauce mixture. In both cases, the pasta was really overcooked and mushy. And about half of my chicken pieces were really tough. Both dinners came with the salad bar, which was also not great. The salad bar consisted of lettuce, olives, tomatoes, pasta salad, banana peppers, pickles, and maybe something else--some odd choices, I thought. I ended up with just lettuce on my salad plate LOL. I wanted tomatoes, but they didn't look that good and I wasn't a fan of the other choices. The rolls were okay but again, nothing special. Overall, the food was edible but very mediocre.

This is the real Italian deal. Pasta, pizza, calzones & sauces like NY. My favorites are manicotti like moms, shrimp diablo, all the bread I can eat and of course a real cannoli for dessert. You have to order a bottle of wine or you will think the Sinatra and Dean Martin music is too loud.

The service was good and pretty friendly, but my Manicotti was awful. The cheese had a glue-y consistency and it was so hot the food was liquified and then quickly congealed. I had some of someone else's Fettucine Alfredo, and it was pretty good--decently cooked noodles, but the sauce was too thick. It's hit or miss, depending on the dish. My friends liked their lasagna and lobster special. The hot rolls are great, and the prices are pretty reasonable. Unfortunately, places like this have no inspiration to improve since there's not much competition (especially on a Sunday!) in Guthrie. This place does have TVs, but they are small and can't be seen from farther than a table away.

They make their own pastas and sauces. No store bought marinera here! We always drive out of town guests to Gutherie for the fantastic service and excellent food. Well worth the drive from Moore!

I've eaten at Roma's twice just so I wasn't judging them on my first experience. It's Italian food, but I haven't been impressed by it either time I've gone. Pizza was very greasy, I'm talking the bottom of the crust greasy. Not good. Eggplant Parm was edible but nothing to write home about, I've had better at chain restaurants. They serve complimentary bread with the meal and both times I asked if they had extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar and was told "Yes". The balsamic was a cheap variety which I expected, not bad but not great. On the other hand, the olive oil was definitely NOT extra virgin. It tasted like a pomace oil which is a type of oil requiring chemical solvents to remove the leftover oil after the first pressing. It's okay for cooking, but not as a table oil or for use in dressings. Most locals seem to like this place, but it's the only game in town. While I would like all the restaurants in Guthrie to be successful, my advise is to drive to Edmond or OKC to get your Italian foodie fix, at least until they improve.

This is the BEST Italian Restaurant hands down. Everything I have tried is GREAT. Real homemade rolls and great dipping sauce. Won't make the mistake again and try a restaurant that states they have Italian food.

The food is good, but it's priced like it is great. I've gone twice and both times was let down that the price did not match the quality or in most cases quantity. Last time I went I got a Caesar salad and it was the size of a side salad at most places, but it cost me a little over eight dollars. I also bought the family some pizza and blown away by the price, it was the quality of most ma and pa shops in the city but about twice the price.

Visited on a Saturday night. I called ahead to see if we would need a reservation for two, they said no we could get right in. Friday is their busiest night. They were right we got seated right away, it was maybe half full. The atmosphere was casual. The food was OK. We ordered our drinks. I started with iced tea, but sent it back. It is clearly made with unfiltered tap water and it tasted like dirt. I had my SIL try it and she agreed. I ordered a water (I know, I know), but for some reason the tea tasted worse than just plain water. I squeezed some lemon in it which helped masked the funky taste. I don't drink soft drinks so this was the only option. They served complimentary rolls with oil and vinegar. The rolls were great, super soft and yummy. I don't know what kind of oil they served, but we didn't think it was olive oil. It had no flavor. We ordered the fried calamari appetizer. They had 2 kinds, some that looked like baby octopuses with all the legs attached and then calamari rings. Although the thought of eating what looked like baby octopuses was off-putting they were the better of the two. The rings were overdone and too chewy. If they had been cut into smaller strips they might have been better. I ordered the alfredo trio which included a beef ravioli, lasagna and manicotti baked in alfredo sauce. The alfredo sauce was amazing, the best I've had anywhere. I could have just dipped the bread into a bowl of alfredo sauce and been happy. As far as the pasta, I couldn't really distinguish one over the other because of all the sauce and cheese it was smothered in. My SIL really liked her dish. I don't remember what it was called. I didn't try it because it had mushrooms in it. Blech! As far as service it was OK. The waitress hit us up pretty hard at first trying to get us to order, she had to come back a couple of times before we were ready. Give us a chance to read the menu! Once we received our food I don't think we saw her again until she brought the check which she just placed on the table without asking if we wanted dessert. I had planned to try the gelato but didn't bother, I just paid the check.

Roma's is great! Most authentic Italian food in the metro, operated by two brothers from Milan.

Good, hot stick-to-your-ribs Italian food. Not sure the meat is anything special, but the sauces are fantastic.

You can't beat this place when it comes to down home Italian food. While atmosphere lacks, the staff is very friendly and attentive. I've been seven or eight times now. Each time I come away having identified my new favorite disk. Today was no different. A friend suggested the Chicken Marsala with grilled chicken breast. Oh my Lord! Wow! Mushrooms were incredibly flavored. Chicken was juicy and tasty. Pasta was perfectly cooked. And, no matter what you order, the volume of each dish is one that can easily be shared or provide your next meal.

We had a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner at Roma's. Food was plentiful & delicious! Waiters were very attentive. We had a private room - it was all just perfect! Everybody enjoyed it.

I couldn't wait to try this restaurant in Guthrie after so many recommendations. I wasn't impressed. The pasta has a refrigerator taste and the meat sauce tasted like it was from a jar. The "salad bar" was NOT impressive as others have posted. I am very disappointed

We made the hike up to Guthrie in the RV and in a couple of vehicles for a place people had been raving about called Union Tacos that had an article in the Gazette... Having seen a sign on I-35 for Roma Italian, I remembered my friend Gary talking about a great italian place in Guthrie. After we found out Union Tacos was closed, we decided to meet at Romas since it was a convenient meeting place right on the main road. Their specials board has some enticing awesomeness. Salad bar comes with all entrees except pizza and sandwiches, in which case it is only $1.95 extra or if you decide to share an entree. We got sat down and were provided our drinks and complimentary bread by D'Lana. The bread was soft, warm, fluffy with a crust. It tasted great with marinara sauce and olive oil/balsamic vinegarette. There were lots of options from pizzas, pastas, chicken, seafood, sandwiches and desserts. The cost wasn't bad at $12-16/ entree with a salad bar. The salad bar was phenomenal, in my opinion. It had a few items but enough to fill your plate and lots of dressings choices. The plates were full size plates, which is rare at most places. I had the mayor's special (see picture) found on the Specials board, which was a huge serving filled with chicken, sausage, artichoke hearts, pasta, etc. I ended up taking most of it home. I basically have 2 meals as leftovers. Win!!! They had homemade gelatos in the following flavors: delce gelato, pistacho, vanilla and chocolate. We ordered the delce which was quite rich and creamy. There were 3 scoops in a bowl for $3.95. Evan, the owner (Italian dude who has been in the US for 15 years) hooked us up with cannoli and Tiramsu. I was throughly impressed and would make another trip up there in the near future. Bravo Evan... Bravo!!!

Our first time here. Lunch today, late lunch. We just finished salad bar. Simple and just very good. Inhouse made fresh bread is very good. Mixed our own stir of olive oil, balsamic and LOTS pepper. Great mix we like. Main dish just arrived. Explanation from our waiter. Really nice and unexpected. Food is amazing. Enough said. Service to match.

Very authentic delicious Italian food but the servers (owners?) are very unfriendly. Think the Bronx... The salad bar is an afterthought with few things on it. The homemade rolls are delicious and if you can deal with servers not wanting you there, dare to ask for the garlic oil to dip your bread in.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
