Not bad. Very loud. Food was pretty good, service was good. They did have NCAA baseball on

Best sushi I've had in OKC area. I drive all the way from Choctaw just to eat here. I have eaten here several times and have always had a great experience. They have the freshest fish. My favorites are the Salmon Lovers, All About Tuna and the Red Lava Roll. The tuna on top of the Red Lava Roll could be an entree on its own merit. The wait staff are excellent and the ambience is very relaxing. Overall grade "A+". I hope to be back soon!

This place is THE best sushi in town. You can really tell the high quality of ingredients and food compared to others in town. Although it is a bit pricey, and we expect to spend some money when we go here, it is well worth it. We don't eat the raw Nigiri stuff, so almost everything we get has something cooked in it. The Scratchy roll is hands down my favorite. The smoked salmon on top is the perfect balance with the cream cheese and crabstick. Our other favorites are the Cousins roll, Naughty girl, Captain crunch and Big O roll. Beware of the Big O, it is fully cooked and a large roll. It's one that can get very heavy... so we like to split it. But I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. Service is always great, and even calling in a to-go order is ready good time. I could go on and on... but it all comes down to one thing. This. Place. Is. So. Good.

I liked The Sushi Bar just from the get-go. It's very open, airy, plenty of seating, and an ample bar to sit at. And the sushi is pretty tasty, to boot! I initially ordered the Baja California and the Spicy Tuna Roll--both rolls were delicious and definitely on the spicy side. I came starving, having swam 2 hours at the pool earlier, so I ended up ordering a Philadelphia roll for a palate cleanse and extra bite. With the small order of edamame I had prior to the sushi, I left feeling full, but not stuffed. My corner of the bar was right by where they set the sushi out for the wait staff to pick up, so I saw all the decadent rolls everyone else ordered in all their glory. I regret not trying the Captain Crunch roll--which was one of my final contenders, but lost out to Spicy Tuna. Matt P. told me the other night that this roll is absolutely delicious, so I want to return and give this roll a try. For a Sunday night, it was pretty poppin'. Not uncomfortably crowded, but pleasantly busy. That was a great sign that I picked a good place to eat! My waiter was very kind, albeit a little distracted with my being on the other side of the bar and it being busy--I wasn't terribly offended though. I had a book with me and was having a leisurely dinner to end the weekend, so no rush from me. Definitely give their sushi a try!

The atmosphere here is very quiet yet kid friendly. The staff is always great & very courteous. The sushi is always pleasantly displayed & tastes pretty good. They are very accommodating when we went in as a small group & then ended up having some friends join us. They were more than happy to move us to a bigger table & even helped move our items as well.
(5)Amanda F.
Best sushi! Love their late hours, happy hour and their daily fish specials are so fresh. John, behind the bar, is friendly and always makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!!
(5)Justin Z.
One of the best sushi restaurants in OKC. Best quality I have found so far with a good selection of raw specialty rolls.
(5)Ambs W.
The custom sushi is very impressive. Based on recommendations from regulars, I ordered the Naughty Girl with baked shrimp (instead of tempura) and fresh salmon (instead of baked). Also had the Fisherman's roll. Fish was very fresh. The ginger is high quality - not what you find at most sushi places. The rice was a slightly different texture than what I'm used to, but was told this is normal for the area. They had a good sake collection with a scale system to help you choose based on your preferred sweet vs dry level. Also had a good wine selection and a full bar. Beers were bottled only. Miso soup was a little too salty for my taste, but otherwise was good. Probably the only thing keeping this from a 5-star is the service. We had a 7pm reservation but didn't get seated until 7:35 ... On a Tuesday night. And I had to do a little extra work to make our server crack a smile. He may have been stressed out Bev it was so busy. They have a second location about to open up so hopefully that will alleviate the service pressures. Will definitely want to go back next time I'm in the area.

This is definitely my favorite place to get sushi. Also, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10pm-1am they have an amazing half price sushi deal. They serve amazing sushi for even more amazing prices! This is a great hang out for UCO students too.

The #sushibar in edmond 1201 Northwest 178 street #123 Edmond, Oklahoma 73012. For you foodies that only like cooked sushi rolls, well the sushi bar features over 30 cooked, fried, & baked rolls. After 10pm on Thursday's Friday & Saturday they feature half price rolls & $3.50 you call it cocktails! Also there is live music. There will be large crowds & waiting so get there eArly on those night's I mentioned above. The ambiance is inviting. My date and I sat in comfy oversized leather chairs. Our server was very friendly and helpful in explaining certain rolls. I really loved the captain crunch roll & the baked salmon. Yummy.
(5)Trevor W.
I come here for the late night half priced sushi. It's a great, reasonably priced time. Drinks are cheap at during this as well. You can stuff yourself on well drinks and sushi for $20 to $30. The owners are very nice, the staff is usually very courteous and prompt. I've never seen a bad waiter/waitress twice. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed with the exception of nights when there's live music. Sometimes the musicians can get a little to lively for my tastes. I recommend the volcano roll and the captain crunch roll.
(5)Samantha K.
My husband and I met some friends who live in Edmond for lunch here on a Saturday. The place was empty. There may have been 3 other tables occupied while we were there. We received great service while there. I had a glass of Moscato because it was cheap and they had a kind I really like. That made my day. For lunch I had the Teriyaki Salmon Bento box. The salmon was cooked really well. It was 2 small pieces but they were not overcooked like I feared. The sauce was really good and I wish there was more of it for my rice. The box comes with 2 fried gyoza and they were delicious. Made me wish we ordered some for an appetizer. The salad was way overdressed. The sesame dressing was good, but there was just way too much of it. Two people at our table ordered sushi and the captain crunch roll seemed to be a favorite. Everything was pretty good, but nothing spectacular.
(3)Kim D.
Love, love, love this place!! The Captain Crunch roll is definitely my favorite!! Never disappointed when I leave here!!
(5)Chris B.
Updating my review to five stars. The last four or five times that I have dined at the sushi bar, it has been exceptional.

I've been eating sushi in Oklahoma City for +10 years and have frequented Sushi Bar for the last 4 years or so. Sushi Bar is by far my favorite sushi spot. I used to be a big fan of Neko, but the quality and freshness at Sushi Bar is just better. The Tempura is always warm and crunchy, never soggy. The portion of meats within their roll is fantastic. No tiny speck of meat in a sea of rice here... I gave 4 stars because the service often time sucks. You rarely wait on food, but the servers don't check on you and often leave empty appetizer plates and other dishes and the table often becomes a pile of mess by the end of meal. I go back because of the food though. FYI the Red Lava Roll is amazing. I'm having a hard time branching out from it.
(4)Sarah B.
This will always be my go to for many many reasons and if you are from out of town or just looking for a fun new experience I would 100% recommend everything about this place. I always bring my friends and family from out of town here and this is now the first go to spot anytime they come to visit.Best sushi restaurant in Oklahoma and probably many other states as well! There is no where in Oklahoma you can go with fish as fresh as they get. Not to mention the variety and wide spread locations they get their fish from. I always ask what location because I find it fascinating, such as Scotland, Australia, Japan, Hawaii, etc. The sushi chefs are so helpful and friendly and really know what they are talking about. If you don't know what to get just tell them what you like and they will come up with something just for you. If you hate sushi and are a beginner you will find something you love here. I personally hated sushi until I went here and now am addicted. They do get very busy but that is inevitable with the amazing food and service this company provides. My one tip would be to ask about the hidden things on the menu, its some of the best stuff! Such as Taks Special, Basonator, Tuna Spring rolls, and The Sushi Tower sub Yellowtail is another favorite! If I havn't convinced you yet, see for yourself and I'm sure you will become a believer as well! vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv *****************SIDE NOTE:*********************** Just figured this out when I drove by sign of new building!!!!! NEW THE SUSHI BAR LOCATION OPENING FALL 2015 ON MEMORIAL AND ROCKWELL. ALMOST DOUBLE THE SIZE, THEREFORE MORE SUSHI!!!

I've had sushi at every restaurant in the okc area and this is hands down my favorite. I love the atmosphere and the food. It's a great place to go on a date night but at the same time, you don't feel bad bringing your kids either.. I always get the rainbow roll and I've never had better at any other sushi restaurant.. They also have a fresh roll that comes with this poblano basil sauce and it's amazing!
(5)Justin Z.

One of my favorite sushi places in the metro. My favorite rolls are the lava, naughty girl, and atomic roll. We go here often! Don't leave without dessert - green tea ice cream
(4)Vanessa D.
The Sushi Bar offers a large variety of fresh and cooked sushi rolls. I really appreciate the raw selection since a lot of sushi bars have started focusing on mainly cooked rolls. The Sushi Bar also offers a gluten-free menu and gluten-free soy sauce, which is a big plus to me! Some of my favorite rolls include: green lantern, all 'bout tuna and red lava.
(4)Joey L.
I have no idea. oh yeah this place is pretty good. it's way the fuck out there though
(3)Jessica W.
This is my favorite sushi spot. Love the naughty girl and js special roll. Also the salmon sashimi is really good. We always have a nice and friendly server. It can get a little loud so if you want a quiet intimate dinner, this might not be the right fit.
(5)Aaron C.
Best sushi. Best service. Love this place. I highly recommend the salmon nigiri. They also have a great late night menu and live music some nights. If you're a beginner, let them know. They will help you out. I get soy paper instead of seaweed because I hate seaweed, for instance.
(5)Elisa S.
Eh, not impressed. I've been here a few times cause it's close to where I live... but really, it's just a lot of money for not a lot of quality. Everything they use for the sushi rolls tastes cheap, weak, and bland. Which is really too bad because its a beautiful establishment and the servers are always SO nice. I wanted to give it a shot this last time before I wrote a review and was hoping it would taste better, but it hasn't and probably won't. My overall review is, "meh". I'll go out of the way for better sushi.
(3)Casey H.
This place was a last minute choice due to its proximity to my residence. I have now been there twice and had the same waiter both times, I believe his name is Michael. One of the better waiters I've had in the OKC area. The atmosphere is really cool inside this place especially since it's in a strip center. I have had cooked and fresh rolls and both are really fresh and very good. The Tuna Tower is a really good appetizer to try as well. My only negative is apparently call ahead seating is accepted and from what I was told last time is that they get first priority no matter when they call. This was explained to me because I noticed two groups being sat before my group even though I was told we were next. The food is good enough and the wait staff is friendly and knowledgable enough that I'll probably make this my go to sushi place.
(4)Julie B.
Best Sushi ever! Friendly staff & always accommodating... Fun crowd of people. The late night half price sushi is a great time to try different menu items ~ Thurs-Sat 10-1am. Highly recommend!
(5)Tom H.
Very over rated. 30-hr wait on weekends. Local very amateur & extremely loud live music. Raw sashimi is fresh but very small portions. Soy sauce not great. Wasabi grainy. Not impressed at all.
(2)Ivy K.
Sleek and modern interior, plentiful parking out front. I was a little worried initially because our miso soups came out with a regular siver dining spoon stuck in them... I have NEVER seen this before. In my experience, it's either been served in the bowl only (so you pick it up and drink it straight from the bowl, like you're traditionally supposed to) or at least with a proper soup spoon. I was also concerned because a lot of the rolls were weird fusions with a ton including cheese - string cheese, etc. (Really? Dozens of sushi rolls with cheese?? I guess they're trying really hard to accommodate the local palates..??). The boy got a lunch box ($8 - comes with miso soup, small salad, half an orange sliced up, half cup of rice, and salmon teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, etc.) with salmon teriyaki and I got one with unagi. We also ordered a "pink panther roll" (salmon, avocado and tamago wrapped in soy paper) and a volcano roll. The fish seemed moderately fresh and the rolls were made well. The service was decent and the experience was fine overall, nothing memorable and moderately priced. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.

Best sushi place in OKC in my opinion. I'm a regular. I sit at the bar, and John places my order without so much as a "what are we having today?", which is awesome. They have a great atmosphere, fabulous food, and good drink selection. The service is good and if you become a regular like me, they remember you. Personally, I get the "Naughty Girl" roll with fresh tuna on top instead of the baked salmon, and a "Jim's Crab" roll with spicy mayo on the side. Happiness on a plate. Who could ask for anything more?
(5)Brooke R.
This place is fabulous. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing and the staff is super friendly. The owner is usually there as well and is very nice. I could eat the chicken salad and summer roll every.single.day . They are so good. And If you like to change things up that are very willing to give it a try. I often ask for my rolls wrapped in cucumber rather than the usual rice and seaweed. My kids love the roll options also as well as the kids meals. My daughter gets a chicken and cream cheese roll with soy paper, so it's pink and more attractive. My older kids just order off the regular sushi menu. Big o and cheese stick (?) are their faces. You should definitely give them a try. They always got sports on and theirs a full bar.

Stopped in for lunch today when I saw the sign. This place has only been open a few months. I will have to say that this restaurant is very beautiful. There was a lot of thought that went into the design. The sushi here was good--nothing that would jump out at you but not bad either. I really enjoyed the Green Lantern roll which is made with yellowtail and avocados. The fish seems fresh, and the place is very clean. My only critique of the lunch menu was the lack of sushi roll specials. There are no lunch specials for sushi rolls; only bento boxes and appetizers, ect. They could probably draw a larger lunch crowd if they would make certain sushi rolls discounted for lunch. The menu has the rolls divided into cooked and fresh. They have an alcohol menu serving both beer, sake and mixed drink specials. The prices were a tad on the higher end for what most people in the OKC area are used to paying for sushi. I would say go here for the freshness of the sushi and the beauty of the restaurant.

This was our second visit and we once again had good service and tasty food. We started with the tempura vegetables and they are awesome. My husband got several pieces of nigiri and a few raw fish rolls and loved them. As a vegan, I get the old fashioned roll and it is one of the best I've ever had. My only complaint is how limited the wine list is. I would like to see some better options available by the glass. Very happy to have a place like this in Edmond. We'll continue to go back.
(4)Kyle D.
Really enjoyed it. The firecracker roll was amazing!! It is a must have!! Will definitely go back!
(4)Kevin W.
Overall I liked this place. There's a good amount of parking and some outdoor seating. When we went inside it seemed a bit too dark but later on they turned up the lighting so it was ok. There was a faint smell of cleaner but I rationalized that to be a good thing. The interior is done well with high ceilings, bamboo arches and sound dampeners to keep the echo down. Some of the tables have these really interesting giant chairs. I will say that typically the sushi bar part of the restaurant is separate and more of "happening" type of place. We didn't sit there this time because I had my daughter but it didn't look like a fun place to be -- more of an after thought. Based on the name of the restaurant, it should be better. Maybe put up a pony wall or something. There was plenty of chefs there, though. Now for the food. I had the nigiri (2 pcs sashimi) of yellowtail, spicy tuna hand roll and cooked salmon sushi roll. The yellowtail and spicy tuna hand roll were good but the cooked salmon roll wasn't. I think the cooked salmon is just not a good choice for sushi, so my fault. My wife ordered the Udon noodle chicken dish. She didn't like it because it had non-traditional veggies in it like bell peppers and onions -- more like mexican chicken fajitas. The thick udon noodles were good though. I had the green tea ice tea (they dont have regular) and it needed sugar (and I'm not a sweetened ice tea guy). The price was about $45 -- a bit on the high side for 2 entrees and three non-alcoholic drinks.

I'm changing my review because I decided to give them a second chance! See previous review down believe (originally gave them 1 star). We decided to go back and we went on a Saturday night so it was a bit busy but we just sat the bar and the service was great! I wish I could remember the guy's name because he was very nice, helpful, and on top of his game. I am just getting into sushi and had a good experience here. I can't remember the name of the roll by my boyfriend ordered (he liked it though!) but I ordered the tiger roll and we decided to split to OMG roll. They did bring out the wrong roll for me (brought me the Jim's crab roll instead of the Tiger Roll) but the incorrect roll was really yummy so I didn't mind. GET THE OMG ROLL. I literally said "oh my gosh" as they brought it out. So great! I'm glad I gave this a second chance and will most likely go back...but will definitely sit at the bar. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I can't comment on the food, as we never got that far, but the service was HORRIBLE. My boyfriend and I went in around 7:30 on a Sunday evening. When we walked in the restaurant was about half full and there were many open tables but we were told there was a 15 minute wait. We didn't really understand why but didn't say anything and sat down in the waiting area. We noticed that all the open tables were big tops and they weren't allowing parties of 2 people to sit at the big tops. I don't quite understand why you would have so many larger tables if you won't allow smaller parties to sit there. Wouldn't it make more sense to have more 2 and 4 top tables and just push them together for larger parties? Anyway, we waited for about 10 minutes before some of the smaller tables started to clear. 10 minutes later, there were at least 4 smaller tables open and cleared off and we still had not been seated. The hostesses were just standing at the host standing chatting. We finally got up and left. I was absolutely appalled at the lack of service and wait time for a restaurant that was half empty when we arrived. Like I said, the food might be great but I will never know but I will never go back. It was absolutely ridiculous and I will never give my money to people who clearly put no value on serving their customer.
(3)Kevin L.
Decent attempt at an A-list sushi place, but quite far away from actually achieving it. The prices are definitely there though. $24 for salmon teriyaki? $16 for chicken teriyaki? and averaging $11-12 for a roll, it's a bit expensive for the quality they put out. Most places that serve similar quality are about $2-3 less per rolls and charge much less for their teriyaki entrees. There is a saving grace though, their happy hour which is after 10pm (not sure what days of the week), but it is 50% off of everything which is very nice, but basically makes the prices normal. The sushi fish tastes relatively fresh compared to other OKC metro places, but the taste is just not there. The teriyaki is average. Everything about Sushi Bar screams "so-so" except for the prices and the decor. The decor and ambiance is very nice, but the service is absolutely horrid. One server working the whole restaurant at 7:45pm on a Thursday night? Absurd. We wait 30-45 minutes for our food for a table of 4 when the restaurant itself only had 5 tables of people. The service is somewhat friendly, but the snail's pace just ruins it. Overall: not recommended unless you go during happy hour and are prepared for horribly slow service, even then re-think it - Ridiculously over-priced - Slow service - Average sushi - Average entrees - Good Happy Hour (after 10pm --- 50% off everything) - Longest wait times and worst service during happy hour
(2)Alexx R.
I went there one time and I really didn't care for it too much. I loooove sushi and have been to plenty of sushi restaurants around Edmond and OKC and this one just didn't do too much for me. The atmosphere is lovely, it gave me hopes when I walked in. I don't remember what two sushi rolls I ordered but they both had like some sweet sauce or something that I didn't care for. I'd give it another shot but that was my first experience. I walked down to Louie's afterwards and had some nachos.
(2)Katie W.
Good sushi for a landlocked state. We ordered two specialty fresh rolls and a yellow-fin roll. The rolls all had lots of meat in them. The meat tasted pretty good. I recommend anything that has the "Basil Sauce" on the side. It's like a spicy pesto and goes really well with the spicy tuna. My only complaint is that nearly all the specialty rolls include either mayo sauce or fried components or both. We ate on the patio since it was a nice day so I can't really comment on the inside of the restaurant.
(4)Sam K.
Enjoyed the decor, pork gyoza (dumplings), Baja California roll, Captain Crunch roll and String cheese roll. The prices are slightly higher than nearby sushi places but the flavor combinations are tasty.
(4)Joe P.
Really this should 3.5 stars but still The Sushi Bar is a worthwhile addition to Edmond that has not had much in the way of sushi. I took some old friends I haven't seen in awhile who love sushi and I had heard some good things about it but being a longtime fan from the 1980's of sushi eaten in and out of the country I tend to be skeptical. The service was excellent, we had reservations and were taken to our table instantly. The waiter was young and eager and also honest about not knowing much about the cuisine. The quality of the fish was excellent especially the yellowtail sashimi, the rolls were well put together, and the rice on the nigiri was of good quality. The wine list is not extensive but had affordable and good choices, and of course plenty of sake and beer options were available. The atmosphere and the noise might take this down to 3 stars but since Edmond lacks alternatives I would go back. It was kind of a sports bar look so don't go thinking that this place in a strip center is going to look Asian. In fact my suspicion is they did this on purpose to convert to something like a sports bar in case this place doesn't work out. Judging by the Friday night crowd I think it will stay The Sushi Bar.

I made a review two years ago and put a 4/5 rating to this restaurant. 2 years after, I came several times and it's how a restaurant can be evaluated, in the long term. This restaurant deserves a 5/5. The food is fresh, the price is average, the ambience is nice and you don't need reservation even if full. Most importantly, you are served fast and on time. The bar is excellent, the sushi chief recognize you and know what you like. This is a personalized service and it's what makes the difference with other places. The service is perfect in all aspects and over the time. $6 for a glass of red Cabernet from South Africa is also a cheap price. Finally after few years and comparing with other places, I recommend this sushi bar as the best of Oklahoma City. They are constantly improving and it's worth any $ spent.
(5)Carly N.
I liked the decor of this restaurant. It was a mostly black interior with low lighting to go with it. They kept the place very clean. I think this is a great date place. The menu had lots of options so it took a while to make up our minds. Most rolls were $10 and up. We ended up getting the Spider Roll, Cousin's, All About Tuna, and Naughty Girl. I liked everything I tried. It was more than enough food for two people. I also got a bowl of miso soup which costs $2 here. Service was excellent. Our server took great care of us - drinks were never empty. The sushi is made when you place your order so it's going to take some time to get your food especially if you order many different rolls. It's like that at pretty much all sushi restaurants so I can't complain about the length of time it took for us to get our food. It didn't take too long though. Presentation gets an A. The chefs did a nice job with the details of each roll.

It wasn't too bad of a wait on a Friday night at 20 minutes. After we were seated, we got our appetizers. I ordered vegetable tempura which was pleasantly crisp and a nice variety of vegetables (asparagus, sweet potato, squash, zucchini, and I think one other vegetable) The taste was excellent and was just enough to tide us over until the main plate of sushi arrived. The green tea was not pleasant even after you added sugar so I switched it out with a soda. The waitress was very good at explaining differences in sushi rolls. Even when my friend disliked the roll they ordered with yellowtail, she offered commentary on the texture and dryness of the fish. I mean...it was good information even though they had already ordered a roll they didn't like. We ordered the two vegetarian options on the sushi list (so that was pleasant as we didn't have to settle for just avocado rolls and cucumber rolls) plus the avocado rolls and my friends got rolls with meat in them. The Master Room roll and the Old Fashioned roll. All of the pictures are in the photos section. The Master Roll was pleasant when you put the whole thing in your mouth. Honestly it had crunchy bonito like flakes on top and the whole things tasted like a sour cream and onion chip but was it was very mild and not overpowering. The Old Fashioned roll was nice as well. The sauce that was on the roll was kind of what brought the flavor. One thing I will say is that it is super hyper mega ultra dark in this joint. There isn't much of an ambience. A few asian inspired lamps here and there but nothing that pulls the whole space together. And with such a high ceiling, I would figure they would do something to even out all the open air space. That may be why it's so dark. The darker it is the darker the ceiling looks which I guess brings the ceiling down? Forgive me...I'm not an interior designer but I think the space could be more alive, let's just say. The price was very reasonable and we were so full on just the two rolls with the avocado rolls. We would have even been fine without the tempura. We shared two rolls with two people and did just fine. About $40 for the two rolls (14 slices) plus the 6 avocado rolls and about 6-8 pieces of tempura plus soft drinks. I consider that veryyyyyy reasonable. I would definitely go back when I'm in the Edmond area.

Beat sushi in the area in my opinion. Very popular so it is packed all the time. So picked your times to go. Everything I have had is great so sorry for no recommendations.
(4)Bobbi F.
The atmosphere is great and the waite staff too however the sushi was extremely salty. At first I thought it might just be mine but my fiance' told me he thought his was salty. The salmon was less salty and the fish was fresh and tender. The best sushi in okc still BY FAR is Thai Delight.
(2)J.P. S.
I've been to The Sushi Bar twice, and both times were great experiences. Great service, great food and decent pricing. I like the volcano roll. The food arrived quickly, which was a big surprise.

The Best Sushi in OKC!!! This is just a great Sushi Bar. I have friends from out of town that when they come in town this is the first place they want to eat. Definitely in my top 5 all time best sushi restaurants and I have traveled just about everywhere. Including fresh rolls right off the docks in Seattle. Yummy!!

First time visitor, but definitely won't be the last! My partner & I were craving some sushi, so we met up with some friends on a Friday night. The wait was only about twenty minutes, but it wasn't bad. Let me say that our waiter was amazing, too! He answered all the questions I had about everything, and was super polite about it and offered that they could leave done stuff out/off of I preferred. We started off with a small edamame, and that was great! It was nice & warm with the right amount of salt. It was the perfect amount for sharing. Our friends shared four rolls; my partner got three; I got two. The ones I enjoyed were the spicy tuna & the Oasis. The Oasis was a spicy seafood mix covered in rice & rolled in soy paper. There were little tempura flakes inside, too. Ah-may-zing! The other guests were really happy with theirs, you. I highly recommend this place, and it has become our favorite now. It's reasonably priced, also.

I think my boyfriend and I are starting to become regulars. We always go in, sit at the bar, and order 2 tall Tiger beers to start. Next up, we have to decide between edamame, miso soup, and seaweed salad; you really can't go wrong with any of them. Now to the sushi, oh the sushi. Hands down you have to try the red lava and the sunset rolls. Both of them have these gorgeous chunks of spicy tuna piled on top. However, my favorite thing there is the sashimi carpaccio. It's 9 pieces of sashimi in this tangy sauce that's distinct and memorable. Keep in mind, it's one of their specials, and even then you won't always see it in the table top specials menu, just ask for it and they'll still make it. Basically, I can't say enough good things about this place. I'm a fresh fish lover from Texas, and even though Oklahoma is landlocked state, The Sushi Bar knows what it's doing. I've tried almost every fresh fish sushi role they have and you just can't go wrong.

Yay we finally have a nice sushi place in Edmond! I've been meaning to try The Sushi Bar for a while now but it's on the west side of Edmond, a location I don't typically frequent. I'm glad I finally gave it a try. I was nervous at first since I heard so many great things and was worried that it was too hyped up and could only disappoint. But that was not the case! I loved it! Ordered a spicy tuna roll, summer roll, and I forgot what it was called but the roll with spicy tuna and fried calamari. All three were good. Fresh and tasty. My favorite was the spicy tuna. I double checked to make sure I could get the spicy tuna with a chili oil base and not mayo, and I could thank goodness! There was something just especially tasty about the spicy tuna roll. I definitely recommend it. The summer roll was way unique and delicious too. This is good for those on a low carb diet! There was no rice and instead the fish was wrapped with cucumber. Very light and refreshing. Also recommend this roll for those who really enjoy fresh rolls vs cooked rolls. There were sooo many rolls to choose from. Unfortunately for me who prefers uncooked rolls, there were probably 3 pages of cooked rolls to chose from vs. about 1-2 pages of fresh rolls. I can't wait to go back and try some more things. (But what I ordered was already so good I'll probably order the same again! Haha) The Sushi Bar was cute and classy and would be a good place for nice dates, first dates, dinner with friends, etc. but it wasn't so fancy that you couldn't come in with sweats and a ball cap when you're on the run or just craving sushi! I've heard on the weekends they have line music and half off sushi after 10 pm. But I need to investigate that a bit more and figure out all the deets!

Great food. Loved the Naughty Girl cooked roll, so I ended up having two!! And the salmon just melted in my mouth.

My husband and I been going here for a year and a half and this is our go-to place. For a little credentials, we're from So Cal and lived in Seattle for 3 years and have had some GOOD sushi...this place rivals the best we've had. We were skeptical about fresh fish in Oklahoma at first, but have never been disappointed. His favorites are the Lemon drop roll and the All 'Bout Tuna roll, and I prefer the cooked rolls and love the Big O roll--the whole thing is tempura fried and just is warm and melting in your mouth! We usually get the fried gyozas as well, and I'm a sucker for hot sake and I love the brand they use. I've also had some of their noodle dishes and those have always been good as well. We also love that this place is open so late on Thursday, Friday and Saturday--we've had my parents come after the baby is asleep so we can slip off for a quick date! Only minor negative things are one time (we've probably been 15x) a year ago late at night there was a strong fishy smell, and the green tea is not all that great. Overall those are excusable once you get a bite of their delicious sushi! Sometimes the rolls are good, sometimes spectacular, but you're going to get that anywhere you're dealing with fresh fish. All in all I'd highly recommend!
(5)Alicia P.
Waited 45 min for a table, granted it was a Friday night. Only to be served rolls that tasted like they came off the grocery store shelves. Will not be returning
(2)Be N.
It's alright. Nothing too spectacular. I got the lemon drop and hanzo roll and both were pretty bland. But at least the service is good.
(3)Cali D.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere and sushi is great. They have great late night / weekend specials as well. Favorite place for sushi when I'm in the area.
(4)Nicole S.
I never had sushi before coming here! Glad I chose to come here for my first time. It was Amazing! Amazing service, ambiance , the prices were reasonable and the sushi was Devine ! I can't wait to go back!
(5)Katrina W.
(5)Larry T.
I am so disappointed in the ridiculous price of a Martini. 12.25 is higher than Chicago or NewYour City. I love the Sushi at this place but this increase will send us somewhere else. Nothing but Greed.
(2)Alison S.
Best sushi in Edmond for sure! Their rolls are tasty and large. The crab cakes are awesome sauce!!
(4)Melanie S.

DISCLAIMER: Just moved here from Hawaii, were Sushi was plentiful- so there's a little bias in the comparison of other Sushi bars. Went to this place with some friends for their "Happy Hour"- it starts at 11pm. Like any typical Happy Hour, not all of the items on the menu were offered at Happy Hour prices, in fact, they had their own Happy Hour menu. Decided to give it a try, I mean, it was Happy Hour! What a great way to try some of their sushi at half the price. I started off with the California Roll... its a basic roll, some don't even consider it "real" sushi- ha! Well, it was not like any other California Roll I've tried. The crab meat was almost blended- like a spread. I wasn't a fan of the texture and was looking for something more substantial. I also tried the Baja Roll- similar ingredients to the California Roll, except the instead of a "blended" crab meat texture, you actually got pieces of crab (crab stick) and it was topped with a different sauce. Wasn't that spicy. The last thing I ordered was the Captain Crunch Roll. This was my favorite out of the three that I ordered. *There's no actual cereal in this roll, if you were wondering* It has tempura shrimp, crab stick, cucumber and had a sweet sauce drizzled over it and sprinkled with tempura flakes. I liked the texture of it and the crunch with every bite. Our table also shared edamame, chicken wings (nothing fancy, just came with a mayo blended dipping sauce) and some chicken skewers (again, nothing fancy). Because we came for Happy Hour, there wasn't the option to try any of their Fresh Rolls. I would have really liked to try something with Spicy Tuna- just to taste the freshness. Our service wasn't too bad either; but you can tell he was a little overwhelmed with the Happy Hour rush. Prices for their regular menu (which can be found online) seem a little pricey, but what do you expect when you're literally in the middle of the united states with no ocean near by? I'm still wanting to try other sushi places around here, but since living in Hawaii, I've become a little sushi snob...ha! I'd give this place another try, when it's not during Happy Hour to see what else they have to offer.

Let me start off by saying that I am no sushi expert or aficionado of any caliber. I enjoy maki rolls and unagi, that much I know. I'm very open to trying new things though. Hence our visit to The Sushi Bar. My first visit was actually a to-go order. The person taking my order was very friendly and to the point. Though I wasn't told how much it would be, I had figured about how much it was going to cost. Their prices aren't bad at all, really. It was about what I expected to pay. Though my girlfriend enjoyed the take-out so much that we went in for lunch one Sunday after church services. The room was initially dark with the windows blinded, but the lights came on shortly after we were seated. I found the menu very helpful and well organized and instantly found my go-to rolls. California, Philadelphia, and Spider rolls are usually my favorites. I'm glad to say that they do them very well here. Solid construction and fresh tasting ingredients. The girlfriend ordered their salmon teryaki lunch box and was very happy with it. It came with Miso soup which did surprisingly have a regular silver spoon in it. I'm used to having it without one, but it was fine. Our second visit was for dinner and there was a bit of a larger crowd this time. Our service was just like our lunch visit earlier in the week, very friendly, prompt, and present when refills were needed. Though for dinner I tried some of their Sashimi in an attempt to try something new. More specifically, I ordered the yellowtail. It was flavorless by itself, but I added some sauce and a bit of ginger from my plate of maki rolls. I enjoyed it, though it isn't something I'd normally order. She ordered the "summertime rolls" I believe they were called. It consisted of crabstick, salmon, tuna, avocado all wrapped in cucumber. It slid apart and was kind of difficult to handle with chopsticks alone. Not bad though. I have yet to try their selection of sake. I typically enjoy it, so I'll have to come back and give my review on that when I've had the chance to sample a bit. All in all, it's a great place to eat and I know I'll be returning for all my sushi needs.

I LOVE the Sushi Bar. It is definitely my go-to sushi place in OKC. And we have a pretty serious sushi habit. The restaurant itself is open and large. It can sometimes get a little loud if you go on a busy night. But, the service is always really quick and extremely friendly. They have a great selection of saki, beer and wine as well as an extensive cocktail list. But, most importantly, they have a phenomenal sushi selection! Their fish always tastes fresh and the rolls are really well-made. The Summer Roll would have to be my favorite (crabstick, salmon, tuna, avocado wrapped with cucumber, sesame seeds and ponzu sauce), but they have an overwhelming number of great fresh rolls. The cooked rolls typically contain too much cheese or tempura for my taste, but their fresh rolls can't be beat.

I want to give this place no stars for serving me moldy sushi. I ordered some sushi (to go) and some had tofu in the middle. After I ate half the roll I notice the tofu was mostly green with a little white. I called and let them know but nothing was really done to insure me that it wouldn't happen again or they wouldn't serve that batch. I have warned you all so you go now at your own risk.... p's it's places like this that give sushi around here a bad name. I know we aren't on the coast but they should still be able to serve food without mold on it. they should be ashamed for feeding us this disgusting food!
(1)Alan G.
I was looking forward to checking this place out but was disappointed. Service was good but the sushi was average. We ordered the bubba's roll and the renegade roll. We also ordered some fried calamari. Would recommend it

I often have mix feelings about The Sushi Bar. My first experience at The Sushi Bar was fantastic! It was my new go to place. Every roll I had I loved. Now after going back a few times, it's often hit and miss. Some days the rolls are better than others, but I can't always describe why. If I'm in the mood for tempura rolls with cream cheese then this is the sushi place I'll go too. I think it's tougher to find fresh rolls on the menu. The wait staff has always been good. Overall I do enjoy coming to The Sushi Bar and I'll be back!
(3)Matthew A.
The place had amazing food and great service! Got the chicken katsu and it was fantastic.
(5)Mike G.
Always fresh and superbly prepared Sushi. A mix of conventional types of sushi dishes and their own special types of unique preparations. Great selection of Wines and Beers. Never yet had bad service. It is not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for.
(5)Joshua D.
Great sushi and atmosphere. Service was excellent, Prices were on par with other sushi restaurants in the metro. Lots of spicy choices which I love
(5)Pinecone E.
Good sushi, fair prices, consistent. Lacking ambiance, though it has improved over the last year with the window treatments and what looks to be an al fresco area outside. Update to 4 stars as consistency and variety have shown worthy.
(4)Cody P.
This restaurant was great in every category in my opinion!
(4)Lizzie b.
Disappointing: Three of us shared a plate of sashimi and four raw rolls for lunch. The fish did not taste that good, and the flavor combinations in the rolls weren't so great either. With sushi, I feel like there doesn't need to be too much more explanation. The fish should taste good. Not disappointing: The all-90s (Top 40) soundtrack. Lots of good conversation pieces in that mix. Weirdly intriguing: It was actually hard to find roll combinations on the menu that did not include some kind of cream cheese or Monterey jack cheese. Sometimes the jack cheese was actually melted in the sushi roll, and/or stuffed in a jalepeno and then put in the sushi roll. I was a little tempted to try one of these cheesy rolls, as they seem to be some sort of specialty of the house, but my dining companions were not game. Probably for the best.
(2)Amanda F.
Best sushi! Love their late hours, happy hour and their daily fish specials are so fresh. John, behind the bar, is friendly and always makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!!
(5)Karla K.
I've good and bad points. First the bad point. The first night I ate at the restaurant most of the food was good--aside from the ikura. It's one of my favorite types of sushi but for some reason it was bitter and I pretty much pushed the plate away after a bite. I'm not sure if it was just a one time thing, but I'm hesitant to order it there again. The good points--aside from the ikura, everything else was delicious. Having lived in Japan for four years I've gotten a bit spoiled, but their salmon nigiri never disappoints. I come here at least once a week for their lunch specials, and their unagi bento is delicious. I always swap the bento salad for edamame. So aside from the bad ikura incident, it's a delicious sushi restaurant. The best I've had in Oklahoma so far.
(4)Danny M.
Best sushi in Okc and Edmond. Hands down. I've been a regular for 4 years now. Once a week for 4 years makes me a good person to listen to. Great food and service.
(5)Nadia C.
Love the atmosphere especially with live music on weekends. They have a late night special which is pretty good price for sushi. Fishes are as fresh as you can get! Cocktails are pretty yummy as well. Overall is a good place to hang out and they close at midnight. Definitely worth to try
(5)Francis F.
The Sushi Bar offers one of the best varieties of sushi, sashimi, and rolls in the metro area. In addition the atmosphere is a modern open space that is energetic and invigorating. The staff is enthusiastic, friendly and fun and go to great length to ensure your dining experience is a hit.
(5)A B.
Excellent restaurant with a great atmosphere. The atmosphere is very modern, open and low lit. The Sushi Bar does an excellent job of avoiding the pitfalls of most Asian restaurants, gaudy and cheap decor. The establishment is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful, especially to those "first time" sushi eaters. The crab cakes were an excellent appetizer, plenty for two. The Crab Roll was excellent and delicious. The Beer selection was a little unique, with plenty of domestics and a large selection of imports complete with some hard to find choices. I would say the prices are on par with the "upper scale" sushi places in the area, they don't skimp on the ingredients. The place is perfect for a first date or someplace where you want to not only eat great sushi but also have great ambiance to complement great conversation.
(4)Jenny H.
Love love love this place. Delicious sushi---get the Sunset roll, a personal fav. The owners are fantastic, the apps are tasty and the sushi tastes so fresh you'll forget you're in land locked OK!
(5)Katie W.

(5)Lindsey J.
(5)Kendra M.
(4)Jeff M.
Not bad. Very loud. Food was pretty good, service was good. They did have NCAA baseball on
(3)Chris B.
Updating my review to five stars. The last four or five times that I have dined at the sushi bar, it has been exceptional.
(5)Sean T.

(3)Trevor W.

Best Sushi ever! Friendly staff & always accommodating... Fun crowd of people. The late night half price sushi is a great time to try different menu items ~ Thurs-Sat 10-1am. Highly recommend!

I've been to The Sushi Bar twice, and both times were great experiences. Great service, great food and decent pricing. I like the volcano roll. The food arrived quickly, which was a big surprise.
(5)Alan M.
Yummy!!

Very over rated. 30-hr wait on weekends. Local very amateur & extremely loud live music. Raw sashimi is fresh but very small portions. Soy sauce not great. Wasabi grainy. Not impressed at all.

I was looking forward to checking this place out but was disappointed. Service was good but the sushi was average. We ordered the bubba's roll and the renegade roll. We also ordered some fried calamari. Would recommend it

This restaurant was great in every category in my opinion!
(4)Pinecone E.
Good sushi, fair prices, consistent. Lacking ambiance, though it has improved over the last year with the window treatments and what looks to be an al fresco area outside. Update to 4 stars as consistency and variety have shown worthy.

Love love love this place. Delicious sushi---get the Sunset roll, a personal fav. The owners are fantastic, the apps are tasty and the sushi tastes so fresh you'll forget you're in land locked OK!
