Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

It was hot as hell in Edmond and my band was playing an outdoor show around the block from Othellos... It was a nice place to get out of the heat for a few Peroni beers and a nice Chef salad. I'm sure this joint is nice during the cold months too.

This review is based on a take out order. We did not eat in the resturant. The folks that gave us our order were kind. We picked up the order as an early dinner (around 4 pm), so we didn't have to fight for attention at the bar. Now to the food. I hate to say it, but I wasn't impressed. We ordered a lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs, and Pat's special. The lasagna was alright, considering the noodles were over cooked. The spaghetti tasted like noodles with canned tomato paste. Pat's special was probably the best, but again tasted like basic ingredients. Noodles, tomato paste, Tabasco. The food reminded me of dinners I ate as a child in the 80s, made using the cheapest canned and boxed ingredients we could find at the store. Nothing very fresh.

If your in the Edmond area and your looking for great Italian cuisine then this is your place! Expect to wait a bit because they are always busy, yet the wait is worth it! I've not had a dish yet that was not fantastic and they have the best coconut cream pie in the known universe!

I went with a group of 8... service was somewhat slow, but it allowed for good conversation. The mozzerella and tomato salad was pretty good, the peach bellini tasted like it had hardly any alcohol. My favorite thing was their pepperoni chips! Fried pepperoni slices dunked in marinara! If you like crispy, burnt pepperonis in your pizza, you need to try those! Overall, a good experience!

The atmosphere here is top notch and I'll go back just on that account. The prices aren't too bad and the food is pretty solid - not the best Italian I've ever had, but good enough to go back again. The servers are great and very friendly. Pretty efficient too.

Good Lord, this place is a train wreck. Man, we gave this place tons of chances too. Every time we craved Italian and didn't feel like a long drive, this was our go to. Not long ago we made the decision to stop going in. It would be forever takeout only. This was based on the fact that we always, and I mean like 10x in row, got treated poorly. I mean, slow service, rude 18 year old waiter, etc. Now we've pretty much hit the point that we won't do takeout either. Last Friday night they were packed. No shocker, I expected and that didn't bother me a bit. What did get on my nerves was the fact that the bartenders stood there talking to each other and I had to fight for 10 minutes to get their attention. I realize that a $5 tip from me on a $20 takeout order isn't their main source of income, but good Lord! My food is there on the counter and they won't even make eye contact with me. Just crappy crappy service.... But they're packed, so why fix anything. The Pros: 1) One of only a handful of Italian joints in Edmond.... So that's a pro, I guess. The cons 1) service. Just awful. It's usually college kids and they just don't care. It's clear that they are cheaply gotten labor. 2) always packed. It's totally turned into Zios. Tons of little league-post game and Frat/Sorority parties. 3) Even take out is tough here. If it's busy, the bartenders just don't have time to swipe your card apparently.

I had dinner at Othello's last night. The special was Seafood Risotto and it was superb. All of the dishes looked great. This is a top notch Italian restaurant in the heart of old Edmond. I highly recommend Othello's!!!

Went there and was rated right away. Had ok service. The lasagna was ok. It was very hot which was great. I hate cold food. The waiter was attentive. The calamari was not good at all. Way over cooked to the point it was leather. Bread basket was not very good either. I am an out of towner so they don't have to worry about getting my business again.

Between the wait for a table, ok service and the somewhat pricey food, I don't think I'll be making a return visit. Cool atmosphere though.

After having been given a glowing recommendation from my co-worker, I came into Othello's with my best friend at about 7 p.m. tonight. The atmosphere was great but everything else, from the service to the food was gravely disappointing. $7 for cheese toast I could've made myself with the low quality I got. $2.75 for maybe 5 ounces of Italian soda with no refills. $10.95 for a BURNT chicken parmisiana, and my friend's $8.95 cheese ravioli tasted only slightly better than Chef Boyardee. After having quality Italian food at places like Zio's and Carraba's this just doesn't compete at all. Bland, frozen and thawed. The waitress suggested dessert so we asked if the tiramisu was made in-house or store-bought and when she told us it was trucked in from Chicago we concluded our visit. Not recommended.

If you can handle the wait time of being seated and then waiting for the food this spot is great. There always busy so it's an average wait of 45 mins to be seated and since everything is made fresh your waiting for your food for some time. I took my kids here for dinner and they ended up falling asleep at table before food got there. Food was excellent though

This was thaw and serve Italian food. Prices weren't too bad but who cares if the food is terrible, service was below average (I went on a busy night with a group of 6), atmosphere was OK. The beer menu was lacking variety as well. Their Alfredo sauce was homemade but everything else was ordered in on a truck, even their marinara sauce. The bread was boring, as were the soups and salads. I didn't try the dessert menu but there certainly wasn't anything unique about the menu descriptions. I won't be back.

My friends and I love Othellos. We enjoy the food, atmosphere and service. Since the Weiss's also purchased the Othellos in Norman, we have to split our time between the two.

Great food. Love the chicken parmigiana. Love the atmosphere...the owners are present and involved. A real gem.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Edmond. Real Italian food with the best ingredients. Great pizza with the high quality cheese and toppings. Nancy's coconut cream pie or Tammy's Italian Creme Cake is an absolute must have. I have to get one to go because I always eat too much of the lasagna or spaghetti and meatballs. Make a reservation or get there early.

We hit Othello's at least a couple of times a month, probably closer to three times. Sunday nights are a great night with the half price pizza. The bar crowd is always fun with a good deal of usual customers; some of which have dishes bearing their names as well as bar chairs. The owner is usually there visiting with the patrons and always a great guy. On a cold night one of the usuals, Pat, will have a nice wood fire going in the bar area. This with a couple of flat screens tuned into ESPN makes the bar area tables my favorite spot to dine. When not going for the pizza, I usually have Greg's Lasagna (layered with slices of Italian sausage) or Don's Rigatoni. Both are fantastic baked dishes and more than I can polish off. Whatever you choose, you cannot leave without trying a piece of the coconut cream pie. It is by far, the absolute best pie I've ever had. Someone needs to turn Guy Fieri onto that pie!

Tried this place because of reviews on a radio show, sad that we did. Waitress was extremely slow and food was not great. My plate of food was not even edible! Won't be coming back. Even kids didn't eat theirs. Waitress didn't offer to change my food or anything just slammed down the check. We were glad to pay and Leave.

Nice cozy little restaurant in downtown Edmond. Service is friendly and efficient. They have a fairly decent wine list and the food is good. For the atmosphere and food the cost is small. Spent more on the wine than the meal. I recommend this Italian restaurant for a nice cozy dinner!

Half price pizza on Sunday! Very friendly hostesses and a small bar if you'd like to place your to go order and wait. Pizza is pretty good--nice dining environment. 2nd time there since relocating to Edmond--won't be the last!

My wife's son and daughter joined us here for dinner on the Saturday before Christmas. It's a great family restaurant with a wonderful, hometown atmosphere and splendidly cooked homemade food. It's why we keep returning.

We have eaten here twice. Fairly small place in downtown Edmond. For me, it comes across as a quasi fine dining place that can't quite pull it off on the menu. After the second time eating there, I would not put it on my top ten list. It's ok, but that was it.

Looked good to start, but the service was very slow and food was below average. One of our party didn't get their food until the rest was nearly done. Nice place for a drink but avoid the food!

Awesome atmosphere! Great food! Great service! Just before we left, the owner sang a little opera! Beautiful! We will be back!

Yummy food, it came to us in good time. They have some hot waiters there. I give it five stars. I would also call first cuz they got busy really fast!
