The food I've gotten each time I've been to a Pei Wei has always been Ok. It gets the job done (filling one's stomach), but it's nothing to write home about. It's generic Asian cuisine. With nation-wide chains like this what varies from location to location - and what ultimately determines which location most people are willing to go to - is the service. Tonight my wife and I ate at this particular Pei Wei for the first time. There were only two other tables of customers when we got there, and they were already eating. It quickly started to get busy after we got our order put in, though. It took them much longer than usual (roughly 20 min.) to get our food to us, and people who came later were served first. Meanwhile a waitress attempted to give us an appetite we hadn't ordered and then returned a few minutes later and gave me the wrong order. (Guess the whole numbers-on-the-table thing doesn't always work out right.) She was genuinely apologetic afterward. My wife's meal was fine. My fried rice was lukewarm, but my sesame chicken was steaming hot. Not sure why this would be. Overall we weren't impressed with this location and will pass it up from now on.

Tables were very dirty and floor has not been swept all day. There managers seem to be focused more on playing around with the younger employees instead if the customers.

The last three times we have eaten at this location, the food was not what it used to be and the restaurant was filthy. The drink stations were gross, there was food all over the floor, the front door and the door to the kitchen were full of visible (obviously) fingerprints. The last two times we went, we squeezed grease out of the egg rolls and this last time, they tasted so bad we couldn't eat them. Half of my scoop of rice was hard. This time, my kung pao chicken was not spicy at all... last time, it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. The food used to be much more consistent and the restaurant was always clean. We loved Pei Wei, so we're sad to see that it has gone so far downhill.

Used to love this place when it first opened- now I will probably avoid this location at all cost! Service was HORRENDOUS. I went mid afternoon and they were pretty slow- but the girl working the register ignored me in the dine in line while she waited on two separate guests who came in to order to go after me. I ordered chicken salad rolls and she didnt know what I was talking about- totally clueless. She then sat with her friends in the booth next to me and they were incredibly obnoxious and tasteless. On another note the dining room was a mess and the server who brought my food just chunked it down on the table and left without a word. The rolls were super sloppy. Not one person who works here is pleasant. This experience will be one that I will avoid in the future by never returning.

My girlfriend and I ended up eating dinner here tonight. We were planning to eat at Chuy's, but the 45+ minute wait forced us to look elsewhere. I have eaten at Pei Wei before, but my girlfriend never had. We walked in and straight up to the counter to order without having to wait. I ordered the Orange Peel Chicken and my girlfriend had the Sweet and Sour Chicken. We also ordered Crab Wantons for an appetizer. Our appetizer arrived quickly. The Wantons were served hot and crispy on a plate of cooled Sweet and Sour sauce. They were delicious. My girlfriends plate was served first and then I waited approximately 3-4 minutes for mine to be served. Both dishes were good. I love that the Freestyle Coke Machines are at this location. I had to get a Lime Coke. It went well with my meal. This location could use a little updating. Several of the booths have ripped up seats and all around the furniture is looking a little worse for the wear.

I love this place. One of my favorite places to get Chinese Food. The Wontons with the chili sauce are to die for I could eat a dozen of these little treats. However, since I try and avoid exercise on general principle I try and stick to 4 or so in a sitting. Anyway. The lettuce wraps are a key part of this experience so bring a friend but if you must dine alone just eat what you can and save the rest for leftovers. I really like the Dan Dan noddles and almost any of the fried chicken dishes are good too. This is a great place to get a to go order. With a typical 15 to 20 min wait you can call from home and it will be close to ready by the time you get there.

I'm really shocked. Last weekend, we dined here and a lot was wrong- salty Pad Thai, overcooked rice, and awkwardly undercooked? and gooey mushrooms (though I'm no expert) on the Mongolian Steak. Bad experiences happen. I returned today excited to have the Pad Thai, maybe without the salt. It was takeout, so I was taking it on faith this would be a better order. What I ended up with- at home- was noodles with some pieces of steak mixed in. No cilantro. No sauce. No tofu. No nuts. No egg. It was about the most bland thing I could have hoped for. So I decided to bring it in and just make sure I'm not crazy. When I showed the manager on duty, her immediate reaction was to claim those ingredients must be on the bottom- and she wasn't about to dig through everything. I explained that it did not have those ingredients- I'd looked through. After offering to put some cilantro on top, she insisted I was mistaken and this is how Pei Wei now makes their food. In which case, goodbye Pei Wei. This was the most bland and disappointing mess of a dish I've had from you in eight loyal years of dining. You were on top of your game but something recently changed... And it seems to be company-wide.

This restaurant has gone down hill. The service is terrible. The last three take out orders I have gotten have taken at least 10 minutes longer than quoted and when I get home the order is incomplete. My family and I would eat at this restaurant on a weekly basis but due to the down turn in service we have refrained from going. Tonight was the last time I will go.... Too bad, good chain poor operations team.

I haven't dined here in years until today - awful. I ordered the Fried Rice dish. It came with literally no vegetables. It had maybe 6 pieces of tofu and the rest was just bland white rice with soy sauce on it. The outdoor patio seating was disgusting - it was so dirty both on the tables and under.

If you are looking for Asian fast food, this is your place. Inexpensive, good sized portions, tasty food delivered to your table quickly. I was a little surprised that it looks more like a cafeteria when you come in. You place your order at the counter and then get your own drinks and put your number on the table and food is delivered to you. It was very quick and the food was good. I had Hot and Sour soup, vegetable spring rolls and Thai Chicken coconut curry. The curry was great. It had just the right amount of spice. Spring rolls was also good.

Good food but I've gotten some really rude service from this location and it was bad enough that I will definitely not be back.

I am utterly flabbergasted. This location refused to serve me lunch because I was a party of one. There were several small tables available with 1 chair and a section of booth. They need to post a sign that says "2 person minimum" on the front door, but of course this would tell the world how rude they are. I stood in line for 10 min. and never was there any sign or indication that they would not serve me. This is not the only location in Tulsa where I have had customer service issues. I will never step into a Pei Wei ever again.

I know this is a chain restaurant. But for some reason the food at this location tastes better than the other places in Tulsa.

I live just outside San Francisco, so I am spoiled for asian food and don't deliberately seek it out when out of state. However, I get to Pei Wei's everytime I am in Tulsa. The food is very good and there is quite a variety. There's plenty of meat, of course, but also good choices for vegetarians. The tofu is delicious and the quantities are enormous. Definitely "sharing portions." It's family friendly - lots of kids and lots of adults. I'd suggest a little more use of spice in some of the dishes, but that's a minor quibble.

My family recently ate here for the 1st time. It was a pleasant surprise. The food was terrific and the service was great. 4/5 stars because my wifes order was forgotten initially and I received the wrong type of rice. They were both corrected right away. We will definetly go back. The lettuce wraps are a knock out!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
