Had a burger here and it was good. Service isn't horrible it's slow. I found this out from a restaurant consultant who clued me in on a few things. They cook fresh at order placement and that's why they are slow. They raise their own dairy and beef cattle, bake their own bread and only have stores within 175 miles of their central location to allow Braum's drivers to be at home with their families. That makes waiting an extra few minutes worth it in my book!

Food is average but the ice cream is always delicious. I recommend purchasing your own and serving at home.

While I can't comment on the quality of their grocery store items - I can say that the restaurant part of this particular Braum's was unsanitary the particular day we went. We went there on a Monday night with a plan of getting a decent sandwich and some ice cream. My wife and I got two chicken sandwiches, fries, and one of their Mix's as well as some Sherbet. Food was very average in taste - absolutely nothing to write home about. Ice cream was good - the Mix is essentially a ripoff of DQ's Blizzard, but a bit cheaper. Here comes the bad part: while there I noticed that the place was literally infested with flies. Now I know that Altus and this part of the world has lots of them during the early parts of the summer, but having multiple hundreds of flies in a restaurant makes you nervous about the food there. That bad feeling from seeing all the flies turned into a horrible night, as both my wife and I got sick a couple hours later with food poisoning (I'll save you the details, but yes, it's what you're probably imagining right now). Really - just stay away. Go to McDonald's down the street if this is what you're looking for. At least their sanitary standards should be better, and honestly their burgers and fries are too.

I've only been here a couple times and the food has been acceptable. The staff don't seem to care. The don't keep the dinning room very clean. The person at the counter stared blankly at me while she waited the last 3 minutes for the french fries to finish before taking my order. Of course, the best thing is the ice cream.

I've been here four times for cherry limeade and I've had four completely different cherry limeades. The first one was delicious, but subsequent ones have been either way too tart, or way too syrupy-sweet. Is there not a formula or recipe to follow for consistency? As other people have noted, the tables inside are always in need of a wipedown. ALWAYS. But our burgers have always been hot and fresh, and our ice cream shakes and sundaes have always been tasty.

Dirty restaurant that is busy because it is the only real ice cream joint in town.

Good food, good ice cream. Restrooms were dirty and the dining area was a little on the dirty side. I would have given five stars except for the cleanliness issue.

Great ice cream, horrible service since the oldest person on the crew is probably 16. The dining area is usually dirty and not clean, same with the bathroom. The grocery store part is usually clean and has great items for purchase. Their "Mix's" are really good. If you go during Friday or Saturday night be prepared to wait since it'll be packed.

This place is dirty. Most of the time there is no adult supervision and it shows. You have to make sure they clean the mixer in between shakes. Flies land on the mixer in between shakes and it about make you sick thinking about it. But it is the only place in Altus to get real hand dipped ice cream. I like going to DQ down in Chillicothe, TX just to get out of Altus. It's about 35-40 minute drive.

If you are in the mood for ice-cream in Altus, OK--this is probably the place unless you fancy McDonald's soft-serve. Good ice cream, lots of toppings, and plenty of tasty choices. Burger menu looks alright, except the inside of the place is pretty dirty with greasy tables that might have been wiped when the place opened each day. Overall, it's where I go for dessert on my way back from eating at another place. The kids enjoy it, too.

The food at Braums should be consistent with the rest of the Braums right. I mean that's the idea of having chain restaurants, they all have the same food served the same. Not true in Altus America. This place is just another example of unsupervised untrained or " i just dont give a rats behind " personnel running amok! Whether its a forgotten item, a wrong item or just the obligatory thumb hole in your burger that is smashed into its rapper like a rolled up plastic bag, you know the way you store bags at home in the little hanging thingy and then stuff bags in the top and pull them out the bottom..ya like that. Thats what my food is always treated like at Braums. Greasy squished dripping, brown nasty lettuce, thin half rotten tomato ends, finger holes in the ripped bun, cold fries, half melted ice cream, no coffee with the big breakfast, burnt sausage, hard as rock home fries, undercooked chicken, filthy bathrooms nasty nasty nasty. Never going back. Oh and cant forget the flies. They are everywhere especially above the ordering counter, hundreds of them on the walls and ceiling.
