Always a fun place overlooking the water. It's hot outside? Well no worries - they have the misters going to keep you cool. They usually have bands on Friday and Saturday nights. Food is solid good. Bar type food but a good selection for everyone. Hamburgers are really good. Now on to the drinks - try the Island Joe - it's especially delicious.

Island Joe's is not a restaurant or a bar...it's a destination for boaters and folks all over the lake. The outdoors environment and the friendly owners, Tina and Kenny, make you feel like a regular the first time you're there. It doesn't hurt to have some of the best food on the lake. They feature a "special" entree on weekends and the live entertainment, causes you to break out in a case of dancing So, be thirsty, be hungry or just want a cold beverage...Islands Joe's is THE place on Grand Lake!

The view is nice, but if you want stronger drinks and better service with a waterfront view, I would go to the Aqua Bar & Grill at Landings Marina down the street. We used to visit Island Joes a lot over the years because some items, like the fried chicken salad and fried pickles, are good, and the view is nice, but the drinks are always weak, and service is impossible during busy times. They could easily be 4-5 stars if they improved their drinks alone. Ever since we learned about Aqua Bar & Grill, it has been our go-to place. The prices are comparable, food and drinks are better, plays Margaritaville music, and the view right on the water is amazing. Island Joes will always do well because of its location, but I would love for it to improve so we can go back and enjoy it!

I agree with Brenda as usual!! Ken does a great job here and hosted a really big party last Friday night. Food was good, beer was cold, staff friendly and plentiful! We had pulled pork nachos and fried Talipia sandwich with fries.

We ate a late lunch at Island Joe's on Sunday afternoon over Labor Day weekend. Although it was a busy lake weekend, the restaurant was not "too" busy. There was no waiting and we were seated immediately. We proceeded to order drinks, appetizers, and entrées. After waiting 45 minutes, we still had not received our food. I bought the long wait to the attention of the waitress. We were served about 15 minutes later. When the food arrived, it was less than appetizing. In terms of bar food, I would give it a 2 out of 10. I would compare it to microwaveable food from the frozen food section of the grocery store. I then went to the bar and asked to speak to the manager. I made the manager aware of my concerns, she apologized about the wait, and stated combatively that most people like their food. Unsatisfied, I then asked to speak to the owner. She said SHE was the owner. I decided to leave it alone, and just pay the bill. When I received the bill I noticed that we were not charged for any of our drinks. I asked the waitress if part of the bill was "comped" and she said "yes, we didn't charge you for the two orders of chicken tenders we forgot to bring". At that point I just wanted to get out of there so I signed the tab and regrettably left a 15% tip (I wish I can leave less is these situations but I just feel too guilty). A few day later I looked at my Visa statement and noticed my tip was not submitted to Visa, only the charge for the food was. I suppose I should be grateful that I was not charged for our drinks or that the tip was not applied to the bill, but mostly I'm just confused. Please understand, I'm not a jerk. I'm a easy go 'in kinda guy. I just wanna know what the heck is going on there. We will not be back. Thank You.

The location of this restaurant is the best and is why I give it 4 stars! Looking out at the water and seeing the boats come and go is terrific! Service is usually top notch as the workers here are really working hard to make sure guests have a terrific experience! Great place to have a drink and listen to live bands on the weekend during the summer and fall! Food is ok, don't go here if you want a meal that is gourmet or one you want to review. Kitchen is limited on space and ability to prepare a large variety, so it's mainly frozen patties and items that can be quickly prepared. The crispy chicken salad is a favorite of mine and my husband. We eat here often during the summer, it is a fun place. Closed during the winter months.
