Have never had a bad meal here....lunch or dinner. Usually I come for their lunch specials, where you can get an entree, fried rice, soup, egg roll, and cream cheese blossom for less than $10. I've been coming here for years, and just recently discovered they have a small Thai menu. I've tried the Pad Thai, which is excellent. I've also tried the Drunken Noodles, which are very good, but a little too spicy for me. I stand by my original post that this is the best Chinese food in the YTown/Warren area.

Only place you can get Thai food in the area. Red and green curry pretty good as well as the spicy noodle (drunken noodle). Egg rolls are also delicious.

love this place. When I lived in Youngstown we would go at least once a week for the reasonably priced lunch buffet and I regularly visit when I'm in town visiting. Best General Tso chicken in town hands down!

Went here with a coworker on a lunch break based on a recommendation from my brother and was severely disappointed. We were both excited to try it since we hoped to make it a regular spot sitting only a few minutes away from our workplace. This dream was almost instantly shattered by a straight up rude waiter. Like, I really don't know if this was just a bad day for him or something, but he was so impersonal/rude that we almost left right then and there. Honestly wish we had since my noodles were terrible dry and his whole dish was all around awful. We just looked at each other with this "are you serious?" look based on how bad everything was going, and he's not nearly as critical as I am! Anyway, eventually I got through mine but he barely finished and rightly so. Needless to say it was a bad experience on all fronts and we were happy to leave.

My wife and I have been eating at Golden Hunan for years. This is by far our favorite chinese restaurant, that also serves Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. The won ton soup, shrimp chips and cream cheese blossoms (crab rangoons) are second to none. And Eddie is the nicest server/owner that you will ever meet. If you like chinese food... you must try the Golden Hunan...

This has been our local go-to Chinese Restaurant for more than a dozen years. The food is always consistent and the hot and sour soup is OUTSTANDING. They are willing to prepare every dish steamed with sauce on the side for the weight or oil conscious. Take out service is fast and accurate.

As far as local restaurants go, this is my husband's and my favorite Chinese restaurant. It is the only Thai restaurant so it's our favorite Thai place too (though limited Thai menu). Friendly service and good food at good prices.

First impression was good, the hostess was friendly. I ordered a lunch combo, steamed shrimp and broccoli. It comes with soup and an egg roll. The wonton soup was good. The steamed shrimp and broccoli was also good. The meal also came with a cream cheese wonton which was tasty. I would eat here again when in the Younstown area. The waiter was good and the dining room was clean. Good food at a fair price.

By far the best Chinese food in the area, have been eating here for over 20 years. Never disappointed and always fresh. You do not want to miss out if you are in the area.

Ate at the new location...no more buffet. Was northside's best lunch , in / out in 10 ; not any longer. Now it's the typical 26 - 40 min :off menu. I enjoy spicier stuff so they suit that ;simply add chili peppers/oil. Portions okay ,service - weak but acceptable.Possibly as good as Asian gets in the valley ,good; not great

I ate here the other night for the first time. They are one of the few local restaurants that has Thai on the menu. Overall, I'm sure their food is very good. Certainly better than your average Chinese take out joint with 7000 items on the menu, but.... there's almost always a but. The service wasn't great, it was barely good. Our waitress wasn't that knowledgeable about the menu or how the food was prepared. Strike one. I ordered the Basil Chicken off the Thai menu - I'm capsaicin fiend and ordered a spicy level 10. The spice was red chili flakes and hot oil. Strike two. I couldn't tell that there was anything spicy in it. My three year old noticed the heat, but it didn't bother him. If you're going to have a Thai menu, how can you get away with not cooking with chilies? When you order Basil Chicken, you expect some large, lightly cooked, Thai Basil leaves in it. I do anyway. The thing is, there wasn't any basil in it. They may argue that they sprinkled a few dried, crispy flakes in it, but when you order a dish that has an herb in the name, it better taste like that herb. Strike three. That said, the flavor was good. It just wasn't what was advertised or ordered. The best part of the dish was the chicken. It was great. Soft, tender, flavorfull. I enjoyed it. The vegetables weren't anything to brag about and neither was the fried rice. Typical Chinese take out fare. Canned baby corn and bamboo shoots and the fried rice was the same you get every where. I'll eat here again at least once. If the food doesn't meet expectations, I probably won't be able to justify a third visit.

I am usually not a fan of chinese food in ohio because of the mystery meat that they typically use. This is one of the few exceptions in our area that uses good-quality meat that I trust. It's also the only place where you can get good Thai food within 40 miles. The drunken noodles and the basil chicken are excellent. The chicken curry is good and spicy. The staff is very friendly. If you're tired of the typical Chinese buffet or takeout place then give Golden Hunan a try.

This was our first time at this restaurant. We were craving Chinese. The best part was the huge menu of options. The worst part was the pushy waiter who said we really didn't want what we wanted ... and even worse is that he made me feel so guilty that he convinced me to change mine to something "better." Unfortunately, what I wanted most likely would have been better as what he suggested wasn't that good at all. The sizzling rice soup was awesome however. HUGE DOWNFALL: The bathrooms leave much to be desired and were very dirty. There is only ONE lavatory with a push-button lock. So if you have to go ... there may be someone in there and you will just have to stand at the door, stare at everyone eating their food, and wait. I got tired of staring at other and having them stare in return, so I got up and "checked" to see if it was unoccupied 4 times. Not a pleasing part of my meal. Overall we most likely won't be back but were glad to try something new.

My family and I are fans of Chinese food and we decided to give this restaurant a try since they opened their new place. First off, they did a great job remodeling an old KFC. The decor was very nice and comfortable. Nice job. Our server was not the best. A couple who came in after us got their food first. I'm not a big fan. She was nice to us... Just not sure what happened. She also messed up my sons order. As for the food, it was of high quality and very tasty. My wife and son liked it better than I did however. We will most likely be back. Personally, I am a huge fan of Fortune Garden (which is right down the street) so it's hard for me to go to a different Chinese restaurant :)

They recently moved to a very nice building...I would say the best Chinese food in North side area...Thai selections are pretty good...My only complaint is consistency...Some days the food is excellent and other times are marginal as if the food was reheated...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
