Health food? Roy, I've gotta disagree and side with Pink's review; I found First Watch unremarkable and unsophisticated to the point that this may as well have been a cafeteria in an elderly assisted living facility. The food wasn't horrible, it was certainly edible, but it lacked imagination and seasoning, and the decor/ambiance was zilch. This place definitely falls under "meh, I've experienced better," and it's definitely not "health food." (Almost all of the breakfast options come with sour cream!) I went here with my out of town guests and some friends of my mother's from Columbus. I think a fair assessment of First Watch is that suburban people and people who don't do a lot of urban dining might think this place is good. I think it is utterly unremarkable; its location in an equally unremarkable strip mall with equally unremarkable suburbanites standing around waiting to buy *insert latest trendy middle class shiny object here* or whatever the hell makes it even less interesting. Also, when I went to the bathroom and walked through the main dining room at First Watch, I noticed all the cheerily recognisable dry goods prominantly displayed in mass quantity by the open-style kitchen - you know, Kellogg's, Quaker, etc. My stomach turned and as my tattooed, slightly amiss (hey it was before noon on the weekend) self quickly made my way to the restroom, I witnessed ladies and gentlemen in polo shirts and madras shorts giving me scornful looks. Oh and the food? I ordered florentine eggs benedict; the spinach was not sauteed, which made no sense to me at all - what am I going to do with a bunch of raw baby spinach on a tasteless English muffin with tomato, a tiny sliver of avocado, and two poached eggs with barely any hollandaise sauce? I'd give this conconction a 1.5 out of 5. I left all the spinach on my plate and got teased by my cousin! Fail, First Watch, FAIL. This was one of those dining experiences where no one commented on their food at all - which means it wasn't a culinary experience (it WAS a very nice social experience regarding the company, so that's important) at all. Like I said, otherwise, I saw lots of sour scream, cream products, and no real coffee (okay, they have "real" coffee, but it was weak. I drank 1.5 pots by myself before I could even become conversational, compared to my usual three sips of Americano and/or well made coffee)... This definitely isn't healthy food (though it's also not the worst), and it's not really even that great. It just seemed like the opposite of a restaurant, and esp. one that specializes in brunch - there are so many easy, creative and delicious ways to do eggs/breakfast... come on! I'd rather make my own at home - more delicious food and way sassier atmosphere.

I met up with my friend for brunch. I ordered blueberry pancakes and sides of bacon and eggs. The blueberry pancakes were delicious--easily some of the best I've had. But the bacon was rubbery and the eggs yolky (even though I ordered the latter w/o yolk). If you go, get the pancakes and stay away from the bacon and eggs.

It wasn't exactly bad, but the food was so flavorless and unsophisticated that it wasn't really good either. Nothing seemed to be seasoned. The English muffin I had tasted like water. The menu was very large: egg dishes, crepeggs (don't ask me what those are), sandwiches, but I had trouble finding anything that seemed especially appealing. Most of the vegetable omelets seemed to have every known vegetable added, with no attempt to harmonize the flavors. They all seemed to include celery. I've never had celery in an omelet, but that sounds awful.

Fantastic food. Sub par service. Never seems to have enough staff. The acoustics in the building were horrid. We could hardly hear our waiter and he was right next to the table. My ears were literally ringing by the time we left. We could barely hear each other at the table. Forget normal conversation...everyone had to yell to be heard. Other locations do not have this problem, so the possibility of coming back to the Worthington location are slim.

Cheerful breakfast spot just outside of downtown Worthington. We went early, so there was no wait to be seated. They have a big menu along with rotating specials. I was tempted by the Avocado toast with basted eggs but instead opted for "The Traditional." It was tasty but not spectacular. The whole place has a chain-hotel vibe.

We went on a Monday morning so there wasn't any wait. Service was quick and very friendly. Lots of healthy options. Would definitely bring friends here.

I have yet to review anything that I haven't visited multiple times to make sure I'm not just lucky and that the food and service really are that good. Well I've officially been to First Watch enough times to praise it in this review and recommend it to everyone! Every morning person should know about this place. First Watch is only open in the morning and closes a few hours after noon, but it's definitely the gem of the Worthington Mall which also operates on similar hours I believe. This may the be only con for me personally since I'm not a morning person whatsoever, but this place motivates me to get up and visit for a nice fresh Chichichanga with some hazelnut coffee, mmm. I've recently gotten out of my long routine only ordering the Chichichanga (CAUSE IT'S SO GOOD) to try different things. Earlier this morning I had the Fresh Fruit Crepe from the Healthier section of the menu which was my first advancement towards trying new things on the menu and I was blown away with all the different fruits that were inside. It also came served with yogurt and granola to be sprinkled on top. Writing this review at 1:40 in the morning is making me hungry. My experiences with First Watch have always been amazing. I always come here to not only enjoy the food but the service also. The same workers have been there for a long time. They're always happy and so nice when serving you, and they even remember you! I have nothing but good things to say about this place and could go on and on. I suggest you get up early for since breakfast or go out for lunch, come here, and try it for yourself! You won't be disappointed!

Average at best. When there were less locations and less popular 10 years ago, First Watch was pretty good. Had the Baccado omelet - bacon was barely cooked. Sour cream topping was missing. English muffin was cold (butter wouldn't melt) Knew there was a reason I quit going there for a reason.

Service at this First Watch is impeccable. The wait goes quickly and the food is excellent. I love the seasonal food and once you are seated the food is delivered quickly. An excellent choice for a Sunday brunch or breakfast everyday! Enjoy!

Just had breakfast here and what a great place. Had their special pumpkin pancakes and they were very yummy. My husband had some sort of chicken breakfast tortilla thing and loved it. Great service, very friendly and quick!

Ugh. So disappointed with First Watch. For a place that has so much marketing geared towards natural and healthy how is there not a single vegetarian salad? I get it, I can ask for no meat but I want more! Give me some beans or olives or even a veggie patty on the side! I tried the pecan mustard salad and the dressing was so heavy I needed to order another plate of lettuce just to spread it around! I feel bad for the server I had, I'm sure she thought I was so miserable but I just wanted to leave feeling full of veggies not dressing!

I recommend the Acapulco omelette. It is nicely spicy and with great chile verde flavor. The waffle was also really good. Nice place for breakfast, enjoy.

Such a great place. Service is amazing. Food is always fresh and the taste/preparation is consistent. I always get the 2 for You with the Beefeater sandwich and the Pecan Dijon salad. I'm sure everything else on the menu is great too, but I get the same thing everytime because I love them so much.

Hahahaha "unsophisticated" and "no ambiance." This place isn't your hipster breakfast spot. It's motherfuckin' FIRST WATCH. The food is simple, and not complicated, much like the decor. The service is always spot on, and I often feel like the youngest person in the room, but I'll still order the steak and eggs florentine (with avocado) or one of their omelettes or many other dishes. I love their food, their staff rocks, and I'll always pop in for breakfast/lunch for a little bit of food and coffee. It's simple. They do it well.

This is one of the best breakfast/brunch places in Columbus! They have a lot of great options if you're looking for something healthy or something other than just eggs and bacon (but those are good here too). There's usually a wait during peak breakfast/brunch hours on the weekends, but I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes. They also have self serve coffee in the waiting area if you need an immediate coffee fix! They always have special dishes, so take a look at the board on the wall or you might get a separate menu with the specials if you sit outside. I recommend any of the hash dishes and last time we got a couple things of their summer menu and they were really good! I got the avocado toast because I wanted to go for something a little lighter. I ended up being so full because they pretty much give you a whole avocado on toast plus two basted eggs. And it probably didn't help that I also got a side order of extra crispy bacon.. just couldn't resist! (So much for going for lighter!) My husband had the breakfast tacos and I had a bite and they were delish! Service is always good too- friendly and attentive!

Came here on a Saturday with a group of friends and the place was packed. Expect a line if you are coming here to grab a weekend brunch. Excellent brunch place to come with family/friends. very friendly staff and attentive service. The food is excellent and the portions are big. I managed to eat just half of my hash browns with scrambled eggs. The pancakes are also huge. So order wisely. Definitely an excellent way to start a weekend.

This was my first time here in years and I left very satisfied. I got an order of their pancakes (I can't remember exactly what they were but I think they were banana and granola??) and they were delicious. I got ahead of myself tho and ordered the full stack, which no single human should be able to finish. I'd say I made through about half before I tossed in the towel haha, so if you're not that hungry or don't want bust your jeans open at breakfast I'd recommend sizing down lol. I also tried one of their egg dishes and that was very flavorful as well. And I love that they just put a whole pot of coffee on the table! Cause I go through my coffee like water. Location here is really easy too, plenty of parking, lots of light, and an outdoor patio. Highly recommended!

Good experience for me but seems to be outstanding for "healthy" people ! Friendly staff, excellent service, nice outdoor seating area , pricey and not a "Yummy" choice, my ordered was "Market Hash".

My fighter and I were driving across country and I wanted a cool place to stop. I yelped it . And glad I did. This place was pretty col for breakfast. It was worth it to go out of your way for a memorable experience. Thank you to all the staff that made this place awesome.

Try the chickichanga This place is open for breakfast and lunch, so it's busy all the time. There is a wait, not too long, after 8 AM. I like the chickichanga the best. The service is excellent, and they are very friendly.

Barb H.
I ate there yesterday, ordered the Chickichanga. Service was fine, waitress was attentive. My food was only OK, though. The Vera Cruz sauce is not tasty. the waitress did offer me salsa in addition, which was very nice of her, and which went well with this dish. The chorizo was all but nonexistent. I couldn't detect any. The avocado was dark around the edges, not fresh cut as you would expect in a restaurant which has several menu items featuring fresh avocado. They shouldn't be sitting around turning black like mine do once they're cut and left in the fridge overnight. (Yes, I did open up my rollup and check it). My potatoes had no taste except too salty. Melon in the fruit cup was hard. Why do restaurants think a hard melon is better than no melon at all? How about something else in there if you don't have a ripe melon? It's a pleasant place but the food is only mediocre.

Not great. The food was crusty and lukewarm. And didn't taste all that great. Service was spotty. I don't recommend. Instead, seek out Scrambler Marie's -- much, much better. EDIT (3 years later): Marie's has gone downhill, fast. Skip it too.

We normally love the food at First Watch. But specifically today we came here after the bad storm Debbie caused county-wide power outages. The staff were so sweet, patient and accommodating- knowing we needed a comforting experience. Nobody was rushed even though there was a 45 minute wait. They had wireless and plenty of plugs. We were so thankful and left replenished and ready to tackle the day's challenges. Thanks to all the staff and managers!

Came here on a beautiful staruday morning around 10:15 am. It was packed. I think this is the first time i've had to wait for a table in Columbus, so I had a feeling it would be good! After about a 25 min wait, my wife and I were seated at a 5 person round table. Kinda weird if you ask me. looking around, they also sat couples at 6 person tables, 4-6 person booths (depending on how big you are) so I don't think they really worry about efficiency of capacity, but more about seating people in order. The food was quite good, I had the Chikenchanga, and while I thought the chicken and avocado was great, the salsa is not really a salsa, more like a cheese sauce with some tomatoes. I wasn't expecting that so it was a bit heavier of a meal than I wanted, but it tasted good! Wife had a fritatta, but it was really more like an omlet whipped up in a small skillet, but that also tasted good. We had a great meal, service was attentive and all in all, I'd say worth coming back to, but I am still on a brunch search for the best in C-bus, so stay tuned. One negative was how loud it was, they need sound dampeners to reduce the feel of a cafeteria and get back to a cafe feel.

I had the eggs benedict and substituted bacon for the ham. Loved it. The hollandaise was way too thick but tasted good. My friend had the turkey club and loved his too. Good place for breakfast/brunch! I would not recommend the pancakes however...just mediocre.

Food was great with a wide range of items on the menu. Specials were delicious and portions were decent for the price. Service was a little slower than I would have liked but then again, I went during brunch on Mother's Day. Overall, I pleased with my experience and would eat here again.

If you give this place any more stars than two, i question your sanity. Oh wait, this is middle Ohio, mayo on EVERYTHING, plenty of Ranch dressing (central Ohio flavor enhancer) and NO, i mean NO SEASONING. At FW, their idea of flavor, EVERYTHING should have MELTED CHEESE ON IT! Look at the menu. I don't know if the kitchen is allowed to HAVE salt and pepper. Instead, "slop on some cheese for that wonderful gooey mouth feel", effing repulsive. And of course, the other flavor idea - adding sour cream to everything. It is on every menu item. A client insists we go there for breakfast on a regular basis and i smile, accept and die a little inside... Everything is just average. Even the patrons. No specialty anything. Nothing even 'interesting'. You know why no chefs or food network people come to central Ohio, because there is no food of merit here and FW is typical of the 'wave of bland' we serve and cheerfully eat. Nope, Guy Fieri will never 'roll in' with his 67 Camaro and partake in our wasteland of Ranch, sour cream and melted cheese state of average. Why did i give it a second star - it is clean. The coffee is even tough to get through. One thing i DO NOT get, at all, is them 'displaying the products' they use, as decor. I don't want to see the cans and boxes my food comes from! EVER!!!! Can't you just serve it and i can HOPE someone actually prepped and cooked my blandness and maybe tasted it for seasoning and took pride in their creation they sent out for service?!?

After a nice birthday for my Grandfather in Galion, Ohio, I suggested First Watch for brunch on the way home to Indianapolis as it was on the way and smack dab in my "old stompin' grounds" of Worthington, Ohio on the north side of Columbus. We were seated after about 20 minutes, which wasn't too bad considering it was Sunday morning. I found the service to be excellent from top to bottom and was impressed with the diversity of options. I ordered a lone blueberry pancake with some seasoned potatoes. The pancakes were just the right ratio of crispy and spongy and reminded me that restaurants seem to have some kind of secret recipe to make pancakes just perfect. My only complaint would have to be the calorie count - a single pancake tipped the scale at 460 calories (according to their website). I probably would have to pass next time, that's a little "too rich for my blood" as they say. My sister had the "Not Guilty Your Honor" wrap, which included mushrooms, tomatoes, red peppers, spinach and cucumber - she swapped out the feta for avocado. She offered up half of it to me and it was just the right blend of tastes. My mom slid over part of her sandwich, the Veggie Grill, with mushrooms, zucchini and spinach and pest mayo. Another great choice. All in all, I was impressed with First Watch. I have heard there are some locations in Indianapolis and I would be inclined to give them a try.

Worth the 45 minute wait. Had the Swisshroom Omlette with rye toast & coffee. Delicious! My only negative was the guy aka my server who was a ghost after I ordered. I didn't get my coffee until he brought the order. That is about 10 since taking my order. Must places bring a beverage soon after taking an order. Not him. Still the food was why I was there.

I went here on a whim with my boyfriend for breakfast on a Sunday. Be forewarned, this place gets crowded on the weekends and you may have to wait around 20 mins to be seated. The food was amazing so just be sure to get there about 20 mins before you are so hungry you will eat anything in sight. My boyfriend loved the variety of pancake flavors they offer. He tried the banana, carrot cake, and bacon and cheddar pancakes. His favorite was the banana, mine was the bacon and cheese. I had the chikichanga which was like a breakfast burrito. Our bill was pretty affordable, but watch out for the extras. I think it was about $3.50 for a side of sausage or bacon. So things can add up if everyone adds a side or has a coffee with their meal. I will back here again for their diverse pancake flavors and delicious food. I think they also do carry out if you don't want to wait to be seated.

They had pumpkin pancakes on special, so I went with that. They made the accompanying scrambled eggs runny as I like. Nothing here was special, but everything was good. I would come back if I was staying in the area again.

This was our favorite breakfast place for a while! There's usually a line on weekends, and they call out your name while you shop at non-descript stores. Sometimes they have local vendors selling stuff like candles and honey, which is cool. Coffee while you wait is a definite plus. The food is great, like their omelettes, breakfast burritos, or special plates. Always a good meal. One time I found a hair on my plate and told the waitress, and she got me a new one and took it off my check. I was a little traumatized, but was happy about the good service, and she took care of me. I went back several times afterwards. So although that one time was slightly negative, I still give it 5 stars because their food and service is the bomb!

This is by far one of my favorites places in the C-O for breakfast or lunch. Be careful when you order the pancakes. They are the size of manholes.

Great restaurant. So glad they opened one up here in Worthington! It's complete with an outside sitting area and afterwards you can walk around in the small mall there. The food is great of course. Staff is wonderful. Even the price is pretty hard to complain about. Really, I might have found my new favorite place to eat!

I met a colleague here the other day at his suggestion for breakfast. Long story short, this place had the potential for a great review, if not for it's chain status and location. For those who don't know, I am a breakfast fan. If I were a drug user, it would be my crack, my heroin, my K2. I generally hate early mornings, but mention breakfast and I find pleasure in getting up before daybreak. The first thing I found about this place is that it is hard to find if you are not familar with the Worthington Mall. I am not sure if it was early morning, but the area appeared to be pretty desolate and bare. The decor of the diner itself is pretty bland, pretty much booths, tables, and chairs. The server was exceptional, seating me promptly, making sure to inquire how we were doing today, etc. She made sure we had our drinks brought to us and provided us with the daily specials. She checked in periodically on us to make sure everything was okay. Food was served without a long wait. Service in itself gets a 5/5 I ordered an omelet and it was okay, nothing that was stick to your ribs or really wowed me as far as size or flavor. The accompaning potatoes did even less to add a meledy to this tune that was called breakfast. They were more of a fried potatoe cube than the typical sliced and pan fried breakfast potatoes. The meal was neutral, nothing stellar, but nothing horrible either. The Sunrise Select coffee was like a fine wine though, the perfect compliment to a meal. It was a light blend, not too acidic or too heavy. Will I go back again? Yes. Will it be a regular must go to place if I have other options? Sadly, no.

Now THIS is good eatin'!!! If you haven't been to a First Watch Restaurant yet, you're crazy! This is the real deal. Health food made the way it should be made...very tasty! Don't expect to go for dinner. It's only open for breakfast, brunch or lunch. This is definitely one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Columbus. It's a great place to bring friends, family or business associates. Cool, comfortable and cozy. This healthy cuisine can be found nestled in the attractive confines of the Worthington Mall - an upscale mini-mall located at the crux of I-270 and N. High St. I highly recommend everything on the menu. If you like pancakes, you can't go wrong. If you like eggs, you can't go wrong. If you like sandwiches or salads, you can't go wrong. If you like a combination of anything thereof, you can't go wrong. As a matter of fact, they offer dishes that you simply cannot order anywhere else. Just because the menu consists of "healthier" fare, doesn't mean that it's low in calories, so beware. But, if you like egg-white omelettes (like me) or wheat pancakes, you'll absolutely love this place. Don't wait any longer. Take your mouth (and the rest of your body) to First Watch ASAP before the crowd settles in, because there's usually a wait, especially on the weekends.

Walked right in on a Thursday morning. Restaurant was mostly full but had a few open tables. It took a while for the initial greeting - long enough that we had already decided what we want to order. This was our first visit to First Watch and we took a little while deciding so I'd say we weren't greeted for 5-10 minutes. After our server showed up, though, things went smoothly. She was attentive and brought us our order promptly and checked back to make sure everything was OK. Only gripe is that I ordered a fruit bowl with the meal to share with my wife and both of ours came with a small fruit cup on the side. It would have been nice for the server to mention this as it wasn't stated on the menu. I wouldn't have spent an extra $5 had I known. The food was just OK. I had the Eggs Benedict with ham and tomato. The eggs were perfectly poached. The Hollandaise was a bit thick and heavy on the lemon but not disgustingly so. I expected a fresher tomato given the season and the tag line, "Yeah it's fresh". Pretty bland supermarket tomato. My wife had the Parma Hash and wasn't particularly impressed. She didn't care for the italian sausage with eggs but the ingredients are clearly stated on the menu so this was simply a matter of personal taste. The eggs were cooked correctly, however. The $5 bowl of fruit was fresh. Overall, not a bad experience but I would have been just as happy at IHOP - not exactly high praise.

Exotically presented dishes for breakfast and lunch..Has lots of variety at reasonable prices. The food is great as well as very delicious. This is one of the best restaurant.
(4)Barbara S.
I had my birthday breakfast there yesterday morning and it was very good. I like their omelets and the fast service.

My fighter and I were driving across country and I wanted a cool place to stop. I yelped it . And glad I did. This place was pretty col for breakfast. It was worth it to go out of your way for a memorable experience. Thank you to all the staff that made this place awesome.
(4)Bethany K.
Try the chickichanga This place is open for breakfast and lunch, so it's busy all the time. There is a wait, not too long, after 8 AM. I like the chickichanga the best. The service is excellent, and they are very friendly.
(4)Barb H.

First watch is always a decent place to eat. Nothing too special but great for Sunday Morning Brunch! Servers here are always nice and the food is always prepared well!
(3)Rodney W.

(5)Steve H.
Food is tasty as usual. Service is quick and friendly. Only down side is a lot of ambient noise.

(4)Tracey W.
One of my favorite breakfast places in Columbus. Quick, great food and a lot of healthy options!
(5)Thomas G.
Had a wonderful breakfast and they used all fresh ingredients such as fruit and vegetables. Very friendly service and expeditious
(5)Karen M.
I had the eggs benedict and substituted bacon for the ham. Loved it. The hollandaise was way too thick but tasted good. My friend had the turkey club and loved his too. Good place for breakfast/brunch! I would not recommend the pancakes however...just mediocre.
(4)Yoojin O.
Food was great with a wide range of items on the menu. Specials were delicious and portions were decent for the price. Service was a little slower than I would have liked but then again, I went during brunch on Mother's Day. Overall, I pleased with my experience and would eat here again.
(4)Jonathan H.
Great place, great food and great service. The only thing is that there is usually a long wait.
(5)DL S.

(4)Debbie C.
Food is always delicious and healthy options are great. Pancakes are huge. Oatmeal is delicious!

(4)Camille V.
The food is very good and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and assertive. I will definitely be going there again their food was delicious!
(5)Samir N.

(5)Keiana S.
This is by far one of my favorites places in the C-O for breakfast or lunch. Be careful when you order the pancakes. They are the size of manholes.
(4)Steve G.

Always excellent food, coffee & service! Not too bad of a wait for a Sunday brunch in Worthington either!!!
