Pasquale's is a quaint Italian restaurant tucked in an alley right off of State St. It is family owned and has been here for as long as I can remember. Ambiance: The decor, as you can read in previous reviews is old and outdated. There is nothing too imaginative here. Non-descript tables and chairs and nothing that catches the eye for wall decoration. Service: I think my waitress talked to me on two occasions during my entire visit and had no idea about anything when it came to wine. She came over to introduce herself about 10 minutes after I was seated and took my order and I didn't even see her until my food came. Once she delivered my food, she came back for the check and that was about it. Not impressed with that... Food: The wine selection is not extensive and what they have, from my experience, is not of high quality. The food however, is excellent. The pizzas are larger than most and the ingredients taste fresh. Overall, Pasquale's is a good little "almost hole in the wall" restaurant with pretty good food. If you're coming for a night of fine dining and great service you may reconsider. However, if you can stand mediocre service for the excellent food, you will not be dissapointed.

Great pizza! I am very picky about pizza, a chain restaurant will not do! I tried the pepperoni pizza and husband had ham, green peppers and mushrooms. We both loved our pizzas! The sauce was good as was the pepperoni. I only ate half of the small at the restaurant and took the other half home. We reheated the left overs in the oven - the left overs were almost as good as when it was first served! Service was fine but we went at an "off" time - right in the middle of the day on a Saturday- so there was only one other table seated when we were there. The restaurant itself reminded me a bit of the 80's but that's fine with me. They had a case of desserts that looked good but we were too stuffed to try any! We will definitely be back to eat more pizza!!!

We really wanted to like this place because of its rich history in Westerville and being a family owed restaurant. How ever we did not care for the pizza. The pros were their crust was good and their desserts were killer. But the sauce was tangy and tart and the pizza in general lacked flavor.

Pasquale's makes the best lasagna I've ever had (sorry Mom.) The plate of lasagna is huge and wonderful; there's easily enough for two people. Even my giant hulk of a food devouring brother couldn't finish his. The pasta is wonderful too, and the sauce is really good as well. Plus they'll add a dinner salad for 2 bucks. The garlic knots are fantastic too; oh, and get a Frisco for dessert when you're done. Don't bother with Marcella's Easton when Pasquale's is so close.

Ate in here a few weeks ago, Friday May 9. The sauce for the garlic cheese bread and on the pizza was gross. It was like they opened up a can of unseasoned tomato sauce, let it sit some where on the counter for a long time and then they used it. Ugghhhh, ya know it sucks when ya taste something like that sauce and it doesn't taste right and then ya know its gonna make ya sick and, VOILA!, it does make you sick later with Montezumas revenge (wife ate some too and also got sick). Yuck, will not return.

Ate here for the first time this weekend. I'm not sure if it always takes a really long time to get your pizzas or not, but I think it was about 40 or 45 minutes for us. Fortunately, the pizza was good enough that it seemed worth the wait. Next time, though, I might just get it as carry out rather than sitting in the restaurant so long. One of the people in our party ordered the lasagna and seemed to really enjoy it. The portion was HUGE. I think he was only able to eat about a third of it.

Pasquale's gets it done! What I like: -The pizza is tasty. I love the pepperoni and their sauce. The sauce is a little sweet and thick. -The fresco desert should be against the law. Peanut butter icing between two peanut butter cookies with chocolate drizzle on top. Could I get a glass of milk with that please? - The owners are there all the time. They are part of the Westerville community and take customer service seriously. One year the owner drove a pizza to my house in a level 3 snowstorm. - The house dressing is aces. - They do serve beer and wine. What I don't like: -The antipasto salad is basically slices of provolone and salami. Let's spice it a notch. - The inside needs a major renovation. I would gut the whole place and make it awesome. I think this would really help business.

We placed a to go order for pick up as this is one of our favorite places for Pizza. Of course I forgot to check in and now that I'm home I can't waa waa waa. We got the 16" supreme pizza because that's what they do best. We love their pizza and although we've tried other items their pizza is just really good. We enjoy the buttery tasting crust along with the tasty pepporonis. I'm not going to knock their other items but frankly they just don't measure up to the pizza. Stick with the pizza and you'll be happy.

Would give a 5 but service is not always good.. Very hit or miss Great pizza but their cheese bread and their Strombolis are to die for. Their sauce is great. Small selection of wine that pairs well with their food

Limited parking is the first impression. Private party must occupy many, as well as a local holiday church event. The place is decorated for Christmas. Tables and floor are clean. Lots of people walking in, through the diners, to pick up carryout. The music is all Rat Pack. Well lit, to see what you're eating, unlike some italian restaurants. The pizza was fantastic. Thin, crispy crust from a deck pizza oven. No conveyer belt. Sauce was nice. Well balanced flavor without that sweetness. Cheese was gooey, without being rubbery. The pepperoni was sliced thin, and did not curl into bowls of grease. It was not overly spicy, yet tasty. We sent the meatball sub back, because we found them to have the consistency of a meat paste. Homemade, but too much time in the food processor. Exchanged for a chicken parm sub. They toasted the sub roll with garlic butter. The great marinara, cheese, and garlic bread would have been perfect with grilled, or freshly breaded chicken. The frozen breaded patty is a noticeable shortcut. We will return for the pizza, maybe pasta.

I was home in January to visit my 94 year old mom for her birthday and my sister and husband took me to their favorite pizza place! We had a delicious large pizza and salad. Love the thin crust and favorable pepperoni! The place had a home town vibe to it and the owners were saying hello to all the tables. I can see why they are a favorite. Wish they had a place where I live in Denver! GREAT fun!!!

I've lived in Westerville all my life. I've been to Pasquale's before as well. The decor is a little tacky. There are Christmas lights hanging in random spots of the restaurant. Nothing about the inside is appealing. Which some people care about, some people don't. I like things to look at on the wall and comfy chairs but that's just me. I HATE criticizing restaurants when it's a ma and pop shop. But because of our time there, I felt like I needed to at least say something. Firstly, I will admit their pizza and Italian sub was pretty good. I went with my boyfriend yesterday for the first time in awhile. We got the garlic sticks as an appetizer and they completely lacked any sort of flavor. As for our lunch, I stuck with what I usually get: an Italian sub and he got the gnocchi and meatballs. It took awhile for it to come out and when it eventually did my sub looked fabulous and the sub itself was the only reason I gave this place 2 stars. My boyfriend's gnocchi and meatballs was like chef boyardee. Their sauce is nothing special. The gnocchi and meatballs was *13* dollars and we were severely disappointed. After my boyfriend decided that he wasn't going to eat anymore, we put on our coats and waited for our check. After almost 20 minutes of waiting and not being checked on once our food was delivered, our waitress finally came over and we decided not to go back again.

I've been coming to Pasquale's since moving to Westerville over 18 years ago. In fact, this is the 1st restaurant I tired when I moved here based on the recommendation of a Westerville police officer. The restaurant is family owned and the family still works in the restaurant every day. When I first started coming here, Pasquale's was tucked back in an alley off of State St and was a little hard to find. Despite being hard to find - it was always busy. A few years ago, they were able to expand into a storefront that gives them visibility on State Street. The restaurant is definitely NOT fancy and has the ambiance of an old Italian restaurant. The food has a homemade quality to it and the portions are huge. I'm a big eater and I can't finish a portion of the lasagna - I always need a "to go" box. Most meals come with a salad and garlic twisty bread with a dipping sauce. Over the years, I tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. All of the pasta dishes are great and they also have some excellent sandwiches like their Italian sub sandwich. The chicken and veal Parmesan entrees are exceptionally good. The house salads are very good - especially with the house Italian dressing. Salads are made with fresh cut romaine, black olive slices, Pepperonis, banana pepper rings, and a bit of shredded cheese - a nice size portion. The salad and the house dressing are very good. They also have packets of other dressings (blue cheese, ranch, lite Italian, etc.) but the house dressing is the best. Overall, the service is generally good but sometimes can be a little hit or miss. Not surprising since a lot of the wait staff are local college students.

The decor IS dated and tacky, but it gives you something to talk about while eating amazing food!!! The sauce is so fresh and the homemade pasta is not to be missed!!

Having grown up in and around Westerville, I wanted to like Pasquale's. I went in with that attitude and an expectation that we would be having some good Italian American eats. To begin, you gotta forgive the tired decor and enjoy it for the atmosphere this local place provides. Our server was very kind, but maybe in need of a little training refresher. I don't mind asking for forgotten items etc. but I didn't even realize we could have been provided bread plates till another table's server placed their's out. Now the most important part--the food. The hyped "garlic" twists did not have a flavor of their own. I had the tortellini with a meatball and he had the lasagna. Yes, my pasta was good, but it tasted exactly like the tortellini from any grocery store. However, I enjoyed the sauce. Speaking of sauce, his lasagna came out in a mess of cheese with the sause mostly on the outside. While he enjoyed it well enough, the poor guy ate it with a sense of guilt as he had overheard the kitchen complaining about having to make it! I do not understand why given the results looked uncomplicated compared to what I make at home. Overall we had a good time and went home full, but I do not think we will return soon.

Overly satisfied with entire menu. My Italian uncle says it's the best pizza he's had since he left Italy. Sauce is pleasantly spicy and divinely sweet and not acidic. Appreciate the amount of pepperoni on their pizzas. Enjoyable crust. Goes great with a fresh marg. Great local business with family ownership in the heart of Uptown Westerville.

Searched for a local Italian place. Came across Pasquale's on Yelp. Easy access--there was a free public parking lot (for up to 4 hours) behind the restaurant, on the left-hand side. Score! Walked through a cute alleyway to get to the side door, since the front is primarily for meter parking, handicap access, and pedestrians. Once we walked in, down three steps to the hostess stand, we were greeted right away. Our host ended up being our server. The place wasn't that busy for a Sunday evening around 6:30, so we were hoping to get our meals within an acceptable time period. We looked over the menu, and chose a 10" cheese pizza to share, along with the gnocchi and meatball entree. Meals were delivered to the table about 25 minutes after ordering. The server was very polite, and brought extra plates and napkins, without having to be asked. The meatball that laid upon the plate of gnocchi was lukewarm--not hot. The gnocchi was homemade, which I did not doubt, however, you could taste that it was probably made earlier in the week, then frozen, then warmed up in the microwave. It did not taste very fresh. The sauce on the gnocchi, as well as the pizza, was very good. The crust on the pizza was crispy, and they cooked the cheese all the way to the edge of the pie. I was very happy with the pizza. Usually, I try a plain cheese before any kind of pie with toppings, but the table next to us had an epic-looking pizza. They load on the toppings. Prices are reasonable. Single-person restrooms are toward the back of the restaurant, and they were clean. There is a party room in the back of the restaurant that you can rent, however, I didn't ask about pricing. I'll definitely try the pizza again, but I was pretty disappointed with the meatball and gnocchi entree.

BEWARE. This place has been a Westerville staple but has changed throughout the years. The past few times I've been there have been the worst pizzas I've ever eaten. Their sauce is bland with no texture, and looks like Campbell's Tomato Soup. Their pizza is under-cooked and soupy. And the toppings were basic. Tonight, our waitress was annoyed and disgruntled when we asked for basic things (plates/napkins/ect.). AND she delivered our pizza 15 minutes after the rest of our group was eating theirs. I was hesitant when I heard we were eating there tonight. I wouldn't eat at this place again if they paid me. Save yourself and go to a real pizza place (Pie's, Pizza Plus, or Eagles are some great options).

I heard about Pasquale's a few years ago, a teacher brought a breakfast pizza from there and it looked pretty good. I never heard of such a pizza. last Saturday for lunch Sherrie and I stopped for lunch, her calzone and my Italian sub were excellent. The calzone was enough for two. Pasquale's is a family owned and operated restaurant NO CHAIN!! They give their customers personal attention. They also have family style meals.

After 20 years of living in Westerville I finally tried this place based on some of the reviews here on yelp. We got a 16" supreme pizza and the "garlic twists". The pizza was good. The pepperoni was crispy and delicious and it was very cheesy, which is always good. Needed a little extra flavor but some red pepper flakes did the trick. Unfortunately the garlic twists were tasteless and stale. I ended up throwing them away. We will probably get the pizza again, but definitely avoiding any of the appetizers.

I went to Pasquales once a few years ago with my bookclub. It was the summer and the place was boiling hot so I knew I wouldn't be back during the summer....so my husband and I went to dinner Friday night. Parking is around the corner but that's no big deal. The restaurant could use a really good renovation. The painted walls are dirty as is the floor. The linoleum needs replacing. I got up to ask the owner where the ladies room was but he was too busy counting receipts to even acknowledge I was standing right in front of him. A server finally told me. Now for the food. I had a small pizza with anchovies...yeah I love them. It was pretty good but not almost $15 good. I could have gotten one at Massey's for half the price and a cleaner restaurant. My husband had the chicken parm. The sauce has no flavor other than tomato. I wouldn't be surprised to find it had just been heated up from a big can. No Italian seasonings whatsoever. The "garlic" knots were..not. Not warm and not garlicky at all. The bathroom had no hot water. Our server, Lisa, was pleasant but didn't come back after she delivered our food except to give us the check. The impression we came away with was overpriced, not very good, not too clean, not too friendly except for Lisa. My impression is the owner is just trying to rake in as much $$ as he can before the Italian Greek restaurant opens across the street and people will see the difference a little caring does. Also here is what we had: One small anchovy pizza, one soft drink, one order of chicken Parm and one cannoli. The bill was over $30. Nope, we won't be back. Carolee and Vinny Luberto

Tacky decor. Mediocre sauce that just tastes like a plain can of crushed tomatoes. Ok service with unfriendly waitresses. I know people in Westerville love this place but I don't know why. Save your money and go somewhere else.

For all of those complaining about the food here, let me set you straight, PIZZA is what this place does best. And it's the best pizza (non-New York style) you will find in Westerville, without question. I mentioned besides New York style because that is my favorite type of pizza and for that no one can beat the Flying Pizza on Bethel. This place also does fantastic wings as well. They are a bit on the small side but you order them by the pound so you don't get cheated. And even though the wings are a bit on the small side they are very, very meaty. The buffalo are very very mildly spicy so no worries if you don't like hot food. Another thing I love about Pasquales is that their pizza has a decent amount of cheese on it. A lot of time when I order pizza I am not sure if I need to order extra cheese or not. Well at this place I can tell you that unless you want a LOT of cheese you will be satisfied with the amount of cheese on their pizza. And each pizza box comes with a $1 off a medium or $2 off a large coupon right on the box so be sure to save your box and cut out the coupon. I've noticed though most of the time the driver doesn't even ask for the coupon. My girlfriend and I order from here at least once a month and they do deliver to us. Call to see if they deliver to your area but they do deliver to most of the surrounding Westerville area. Expect to wait about 45 minutes or so for your order but that's not unheard of anymore in the pizza business. The only gripe I have with this place is they should open for lunch on Sunday. I don't know how many times this past NFL season when my friends and I would have loved to have ordered some pizza and wings for the game but they do not open until 4pm on Sunday. Change that and they are golden. P.S. - It's great to support a family owned restaurant and not a chain. And your taste buds will thank you as well.

Average on all counts. To sum up my review in one sentence-- the price was average, the food was average, the service was average, and the decor was average. I came here with my sister on the recommendation of yelp while passing through Columbus. We ordered house salads to start and then the white pizza but I wouldn't recommend either. The salad was lacking anything special and the pizza was incredibly dry. At the end, the manager overcharged us for the pizza but was quick to correct his mistake after I pointed it out. Overall I was unimpressed. Nothing about the place really stood out as more than average to me.

Are they always so slow?! First visit tonight and not impressed. Got there at 5:00. Only people in the front dining room. Ordered a small pizza, penne and meatball, turkey sub and kids cheese bread. Didn't think it was a complicated order but apparently it was because it took 40 mins. With 3 kids, that's not pleasant dining and the pizza dough they got to play with can only hold them for so long. Another family of 5 came in about 10 mins after us and they got their food before we did and when my pasta did come out it was cold. The rest of the food wasnt fresh out of oven hot either. I asked the waitress why it took so long and why the other family got their food first and she gave me some lame excuse about cooking certain pasta dishes together?!? Huh? She knew I didn't buy it so she said she'd send the manager out. He comp'd the pasta but nothing else and did say there was no excuse for the wait because they really weren't that busy yet. Pizza was good but if it really does take that long all the time, I can't say I will be eating in again, especially with kids.

While traveling in Ohio, I stumbled upon this restaurant quite by mistake and was more than pleasantly surprised to find that it was no fluke--it had to be fate! The food in this place is absolutely scrumptious! Mama came over from Italy and taught her family the fine art of pasta making. I had the overly ample plate of lasagna with an antipasto salad and my brother had the homemade gnocchi. The basket of garlic twist rolls were hot --hot---hot out of the oven and once we could pick them up, they melted in our mouths! The dipping sauce was the best I have ever had--and I didn't get heartburn. How did they do that? I am so glad that we didn't find the restaurant that we were initially looking for. When we are back in Ohio, we will definitely return; there are many things on the menu that I still want to taste. Mama mia, the food is good.

This is the place to be if you love gnocchi like i do! They have some of the best sauce I've ever tasted. It's smooth and somewhat thick in texture, not watered down. Delicious freshly made gnocchi and amazing meatballs. A diamond in the hell hole that is uptown Westerville.

OK.. after reading all the reviews on this place, I knew I had to make a point of coming here... so I did... more than once!! I LOVE Italian food... my favorite is Lasagna!!! So, imagine what I had here... more than once... YES, LASAGNA!!! Yes, it was so good, I had to get it again.... and I will again... The portion is HUGE... SERIOUSLY HUGE!!!! However, I ate it all, the second time... first time I had to take some home, but only due to the fact that I started with some Cheesy Garlic Bread. WARNING... if you plan to get the lasagna, don't get an appetizer, or you won't be able to finish... Of course I'm always nosy and have to look to see what all the other tables are eating, and it ALWAYS looks soooooo good. One of these days, I'll have to break away from the lasagna... There are two huge, very cool stained glass in the back dining area. Very nice when its still light outside!!! I'm sure there is some story behind them... Anyway, this place is a must!! GO HERE!! Now I'm hungry... for their Lasagna!!

Like the Olympics, my Tuesday Night pizza reviews employ a scoring system based on degree of difficulty. Given my love of crust, no "edge to edge" pizza can ever receive five stars - ever. I mean, if you can't puff up some nice crust around the rim that is crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle and with nice air pockets, you're pretty much just doing a double lutz. That said, this double lutz pie is fantastic. We ordered our normal pepperoni and mushroom. Service was excellent. The Peroni beer while I waited - delightful. The decor of this charming, family run place nestled in old town Westerville hit the mark. Pasquale's uses top-notch toppings. The pepperoni had a slightly larger radius than your norm, but the taste and crispiness of it were excellent. Cheese to sauce ratio: perfect. What knocks this pizza out of the park, in my opinion, is the sauce. Pasquale's isn't shy about loading up the sauce, which was thick and had great herb action with the perfect sweet but tart combo on the final note. If you like the "edge to edge" pizza style, run, don't walk, to Pasquale's and enjoy. They serve the best edger that I've found in Columbus.

Great pizza. Family atmosphere and their dessert selection is definitely worth trying out once. Glass encased with mouthwatering desserts you'll need to at least get to go. You'll never leave hungry that's for sure. Family owned and operated I believe so choose local !!

A Westerville tradition. I bring my family here quite a bit for pizza. The kids get to play with dough while waiting for our food - something they really enjoy. The pizza is good, but we come here for the Friscos! The perfect dessert: peanut butter and chocolate sandwiched between two peanut butter cookies with chocolate drizzled on top. Although, be careful, one of these can be enough for two...

I had been really craving Italian food and knew about this place....just never put forth the effort of trying it out. I read several reviews about it and was smitten by the word "Lasagna." I ended up going on a Saturday evening. To my surpise, it wasn't very busy at all. We started out with some garlic cheese bread (which was really good....but SO unnecessary as your entree comes with garlic twist bread). The server was really nice and answered all of our questions. She forgot to bring out our salads and brought our meals instead. Not a huge deal since the amount of food there is pretty massive....& she took the salad off the bill. The lasagna was simply amazing! So cheesy.....so saucy......and so BIG! I have a pretty big appetite and generally clean my plate while eating out. I couldnt' come close to finishing this lasagna and had to get a box. They also make cookies, buckeyes and other tasty looking desserts there (which I couldnt handle as I was about to bust!) Maybe next time.

We ordered entrees and not pizza. Should have ordered pizza. Several pizzas passed by our table and they looked pretty good. Certainly had to be better than what we had. There were three of us and each ordered a different item: Chicken Pasta Pasquale, Chicken Parmesan and Sausage Saccottio. They can all be summed up in one word: tasteless. My sausage soccottio (little pasta balls with sausage and cheese inside...kind of like small sausage raviolis) was covered in a canned tomato sauce with zero seasonings. The chicken part of the chicken parm wasn't too bad, but the spaghetti it sat on was mushy and again, the flavorless sauce. I found the chicken pasta pasquale to be the best of the three...in comparison...maybe because it included no sauce. It's tiny pieces of shredded chicken with a rigatoni type pasta covered in some sort of oil-based dressing. But at least it had some seasonings! Overall...very unimpressed and we won't be back. Price of all of them was about $12 each and be aware...a salad is $2 extra. The garlic rolls that came out were also tasteless and gummy. The whole experience was yuk. If dragged in here do yourself a favor and order a pizza. Maybe it's worth eating.

Dined in this family owned establishment, They have a diverse menu, pastas, sandwiches, appetizers, salads, and Pizzas. We sampled the house salads, with the house Italian dressing, the salad was made with fresh cut romaine, black olive slices, Pepperonis, banana pepper rings, and a bit of shredded cheese, the dressing and salad was very good. We tried a Pepperoni Pie, and a Fresh tomato, Green Pepper, Bacon Pie as well. The crust was medium thick, had a nice crunch to it, the sauce was well seasoned, ample cheese and well baked The only minus was the Pepperoni which is the large kind of bland variety ( I prefer the Old World small Pepperoni) The combo pizza we had was again well baked, and had ample toppings the Bacon was under the cheese which allowed it to remain crisp, but not burnt or dried out They have buckets of Beer, wine, soft drinks and iced tea. Over all a great place, friendly service, and family friendly

I had dinner at Pasquales tonight. I was very happy to have tried this great restaurant! It's small and the Pasquales menu isn't a huge one, but the food is really worth it! Pasquales has two entrances, one at the front and one at the side. I came in the side entrance as it was closer to the parking lot behind the place. There was no wait at all. The server showed us to our table in the front of the restaurant. Pasquales has two areas to eat in as well. One is closer to the front of the restaurant and closer to the street, the other is near the back of the restaurant and closer to the restrooms and the kitchen. The back dining area is a bit larger and has a little more light and the front area, which I ate in, is kinda quaint and has more decor. As for the decor, Pasquales is nicely decorated with framed photos of Otterbein College as well as a wedding that was held at Pasquales once. It also has nice rope lights and Italian decorations. The menu was small, like I said, but it offered some great food. I had the pasta saccottino which is an Italian sausage dish covered in tomato sauce and cheese. It was great and really worth the price. I came with two other people who shared a pizza that had pepperoni and mushrooms on it. They told me that they loved it. I had an Italian sparkling water and a Cherry Coke to drink. One of the guys I came with had a Perroni beer and the other just had water. They had a good drink menu with lots of different beers and wines. Pasquales had good service and helpful waiters who frequented the tables often. At one point while we were eating, the restaurant blew a fuse and the power went out on our side of the restaurant. We thought it was part of the atmosphere at first because the TVs stayed on as well as the rope lights and the lights in the other dining room. After a minute, though the manager went into a room in the middle of the restaurant and fixed it though so it only was off for about five minutes at most. Kinda funny in the end. Our waitress didn't even know about it and was surprised when we told her! The restaurant delivers pizza and caters as well. I think I might try their delivery sometime. Pasquales was a great place to come and I plan to return soon!

The few times I've been here I always wonder why I came back. Waaaaaay over priced. Mediocre food. Today I picked up a 7" pep pizza with a can of coke to the tune of $8.00 !! The pizza was over cooked (burnt) and two of the 4 slices had zero cheese on them. And I'm not exaggerating. Pretty ridiculous for such a pricey pie, if I may say so myself. I had them remake my pizza... The manager never did apologize or anything. Won't be back. I think this time I finally learned my lesson. Working in the service industry for so long myself, I'm gonna have to give this place two thumbs DOWN.

By far my family's favorite pizza in Westerville. Their pizza sauce is a flavorful sweet and tangy marinara and the toppings are always abundant. in addition to doing pizza right their pasta is pretty good too. The parmesan chicken is my favorite and their pasta is always served with garlic knots. The only thing I can fault them on is their salads, they are mundane, no house dressing, and no caesar salads. But really you don't go to a pizza and pasta restaurant for a salad so it's not that big of a deal for me.

Awesome place for pie! I had been meaning to check this place out for quote some time and finally made it in. I wasn't sure what to expect...great pizza or mediocre pizza...or even *gasp* terrible pizza. What I got was fabulous pizza in a fabulous, small town feel. First off, they bring your kid some pizza to play with like Play-Doh. Crazy cool, right? Heck yeah! Then came the garlic bread, which was done just right. Flavorful with a nice crunch without being TOO crunchy. The sauce was wonderful. Tart, a bit of a tang, with a smooth sweetish finish. Yum! Then the piece de resistance! The pie!! One word: ohmygoditstoofabulousforwords. Crispy edges but not burned, nice and cheesy, just the right amount of sauce and tasty toppings. Next, I was really impressed when the owner stopped by to check in on us. I mean, I was used to that when I actually LIVED in a small town. But since moving to Columbus, ummmm not so much. The personal interaction is beyond words. However, more than that was seeing the owner just sit down at a table with some customers and talk....REALLY talk like the old friends they probably are. Now that speaks volumes. Family owned biz where the family cares about its customers like extended family. Finally, as if all that could be topped, my son got a free brownie. A BIG brownie too. Not a flavorless piece of brownie-ish substance, but a delicious, moist, chocolatey brownie covered with a mouth-watering icing. Icing that was crisp on the top but oh sooooo gooey underneath, perfection itself. I fully intend to become a regular, and maybe one day, the owner will come sit at MY table and chat for a while. :) Lovely antiqued interior like two large stained glass windows and very comfy booths where you actually sit up and not sink into the booth and feel like a kid at the adults' table! All in all, I recommend Pasquale's if you're looking for a more intimate, family-oriented place to get quality, delicious Italian food just like you would at Mama's table...if only you were Italian. ;)

We came in on a not-so-brisque Sunday night. Few eaters, not much carry-out either. Ordered a pie and beers. The pie was well cheesed and the condiments were plentiful. Crust was well done and on the thin side. I was surprised at the taste; in a very good way. Table service was uneventful by a guy who wanted to go home. Who could blame him, it was 80 and sunny. I'd come back when in the area. I'd like to taste the pasta. I'm a fan.

I have been going to Pasquale's since I moved to Westerville in 1995. Their pizza is delicious as well as their gnocci and pasteries. The owners are great and really take care of their customers. I definitely prefer their thick crust pizza - it is always baked perfectly and has great flavor. I eat a lot of pizza and Pasquale's is by far my favorite.

Can you say pizza, cannoli, friendly staff, pizza, pizza, pizza? Even writing about this place makes me want to go there again tonight. The restaurant is located in downtown Westerville. (which everyone should check out) I feel as though the restaurant is suffering dual personalities because of a recent remodel, but it is still so delicious and adds to its quaint personality so I am not going to complain. Off the street there is an open restaurant with multiple tables, then walk further in and you see the original Pasquales. (You use to be able to only enter it from the alley, now they have a street side entrance). The interior is decorated as though you are sitting outside of an Italian eatery, complete with fake shrubbery, bricks, and a pastry counter. We ordered a 14" supreme pizza and split a dinner salad. Now, let me just cut to the details, their pizza is amazing. Normally, no matter where you go you can easily blot the grease off of a slice of pizza... but this place is different. They use just a little bit of sauce, layer on the toppings, and then put the cheese on top of that. This leaves a fresh, crunchy pizza (where the peppers and everything you ordered on top aren't soggy and grease-ridden) and then extra cheese-i-ness on top! I just can't do this pizza justice, go try it... now... I mean why are you still reading this?? After gorging ourselves on pizza we also split a cannoli (this is not advised due to their naturally small size and how delicious they are, go ahead, just get 2..or 3...). The staff here is also super friendly. I went on a week day night and it seemed like everyone in the place must have been regulars since they all heckled each other and customers greeted staff by first name and vice versa. This family eatery has hit a soft spot in my love for food, and I will stop back here again for sure!! How come you haven't left to go there yet??

I have lived in Westerville for a long time and the other night the wife and I decided we would try this place out and what we found out was the service was great and the pizza was the best we have had in Central Ohio we will be only getting our pizza from this place here on out

Good food and service. Didn't take long to get our pizza and the toppings were fresh and the crust light and crispy with a buttery flavor on the bottom. Nice family atmosphere we will definitely be back. Look for parking around the back of the building.

Pasquale's is a restaurant that holds some sentimental value. My first experience here was in the summer of 2007, when my mother went into the hospital during a sudden bout of dyspnea and my best friend drove me to St. Anne's to visit her (I hadn't gotten my license yet). To cheer me up, he took me to Pasquale's afterward, where I had never been (in part, because I don't make it to uptown Westerville all that often, in part because the restaurant was then visible only from a back alley). I ordered their Italian sub with a side of garlic twists and was hooked. In the years since then, the storefront of Pasquale's has extended to State St., so you can't miss it. I'm frankly surprised they were able to last for so long with little visibility before the expansion, but I chalk this down to word of mouth and a loyal base of customers. The food at Pasquale's is solid across the board. My standard used to be the Chicken Parmesan - nothing too fancy, but their marinara sauce is delicious. Make sure to order the garlic twists as a side - or better yet - their cheesy bread, which comes with a bowl of this sauce. Funnily enough, I'm not even sure if I've had their pizza, which is what they're most known for. The interior is cozy and has the aura of a mom-n'-pop restaurant. The back room (the original dining room) is plain Jane, while the newer half of the building is a bit fancier. Walls are adorned with relics of Westerville/Otterbein College, adding to the sense of community one may find in Pasquale's. The next time you're in uptown Westerville, be sure to stop here!

I like Pasquales, but more for sentimental reasons than how much I like the food. The food isn't bad; it's just not delectable. I like that it survived for so long before Westerville lifted its ban on alcohol. I like that it's been in the family almost as long as I've lived in Westerville. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The food, while perfectly fine, just isn't to die for. They do have a very nice, if maybe a little pricey, dessert selection. If you're wholesome at all, I bet you like this place.

I had dinner here today. On the whole it was pretty good. I had a small salad, which was about what you'd expect for a $2 upcharge, greens, some cheese, and some pepperoni. The one thing that they did which was very nice was to serve a couple of pretzel rolls with some spaghetti sauce on the side. The rolls were great but I really didn't need them on top of the salad and dinner. My main course was pasta saccottino. It was zesty italian sausage folded in tiny pasta purses They were partially covered with marinara sauce. And they were very good. That said, this restaurant is more a pizza place than a place to get meatballs and spaghetti.

Okay, I read some the earlier reviews and I cannot disagree with a couple of bad ones but let me tell you why I think this place is a 5-star restaurant in Columbus. #1. This is what a small-town restaurant should feel like. Westerville is a cutesy little town and you immediately walk into the side of this alley right off the main street (sure you can go in the front, but the locals go in through the side). You're greeted by 2-3 teenage girls, sit down and look up and you see a portrait of the owner's family. Look around the restaurant, you should be able to see Mom cooking, Dad at the cash register, and the kids serving or cooking. A+ family effort #2. It's a cheesy "neighborhood" Italian restaurant. Sure, I love good high class, fancy Italian once in a while, but most of the time, I want to go in for good pasta, lasagna, pizza or chicken parm and I don't wan to spend $20 a dish on a Wed night. #3. You're given breadsticks with decadent homemade red sauce. Maybe it's out of a jar, who knows, but man this sure tastes homemade... like Mom was in there at 8am cooking a 50 quart pot of this stuff and letting it reduce all day. #4. We have been a couple of times and tried the "usual" dishes of chicken parm, lasagna, pizza etc. Then one day a waiter recommended the spaghetti. That's the day my life changed in regards to how spaghetti and meatballs should be made. #5. The spaghetti and meatball(s). Okay, who over the age of 16 goes into a neighborhood Italian restaurant and orders the spaghetti? I believed the waiter and I was met with home-made fresh pasta (not the damn stuff from the box) and the most delectable and tender meatballs I have ever tasted. What stinks is that they only serve one with the basic dish. We have been back probably a dozen or so times and every single time this is what I order, but I add two meatballs. It's enough for dinner and then lunch. #6. Since it's a neighborhood restaurant, my wife and I get out eating like gluttons for maybe $30-40. That price also buys enough food for lunch the next day. Very reasonably priced... not too cheap or not too expensive. Now in fairness, I have been a time or two when something was a little greasy. I also have been once when the parm sandwich was really waaaay over seasoned. This is something to expect in a local mom & pop shop. This certainly won't stop me from giving 5-stars... this rating is for the overall experience... including the fact that it makes me happy to give my hard earned $$ to a family who is working so hard to make a local establishment work as opposed to a national chain. I just wish it wasn't a 20 min drive away or else we'd eat here more often!!

Went last night, our server was incredibly friendly and gave us fantastic recommendations. Had the cheesy garlic bread, came out quickly...hot and delicious. We also had the Founder's Favorite pizza, a white pizza with chicken and tomatoes. Was the tastiest pizza I have had in a while. Great meal. Will definitely be back!

I walked up and down State St. for awhile looking for something new that I'd never heard of. I eventually settled on Pasquale's. The layout is a little confusing. I noticed that another reviewer said that the entrance is in the alley. I entered from the State St. door, and felt like I was coming in the back door. So I guess that makes sense. We walked through an empty dining room to a sign that said to wait there. The host quickly seated us in a slightly uncomfortable booth, followed immediately by a really laid back server. We ordered a bottle of Shiraz, then settled on a veggy pizza. The wine was excellent, and reasonably priced. The pizza wasn't amazing, but definitely restaurant quality. The decor was half Italian restaurant, half mom and pop. Among the dark wood and stucco walls rested O.S.U. paraphernalia, and the walls were decorated with family photos. Overall the place was comfortable and the food was good.

My wife and I took a chance on this Westerville mainstay a while back, hoping that it would be somehow connected to the delicious Pasquale's Restaurant on Lake Erie's Put-In-Bay Island. It turns out that this place doesn't have anything to do with the resort-town eatery. We were still pleasantly surprised by this backstreet establishment (The entrance is in an alley!). Pasquale's Pizza & Carry Out isn't quite as shady as its name might indicate. Their ambiance certainly recalls the true pizza parlor of yesteryear. The food is terrific homemade American-Italian fare. Lots of great pasta, calzones, strombolis and of course, pizza. The salads are average - lots of iceberg lettuce. The wonderful roll-like garlic knots redeem any of the restaurant's few shortcomings. For dessert there's cannoli along with a few other delicious looking treats.

Um, this place is basically a Westerville institution at this point. I don't live in the Ville anymore, but when I did I used to eat here regularly, especially in high school. In terms of good thin crust pizza, Pasquales just does it right. I always kind of liked the setting too, it is sort of a hole in the wall place. Okay, now I'm getting sentimental and missing my hometown. Frick, let's go get some pizza.

I used to love this place. The pizza was always very consistent, and that's why I'm writing this review. Something has been lost with the consistency. Consistency of food and consistency of service. I'm not sure why this has happened, but it's been declining over time. A specific example...I ordered 1/2 cheese, 1/2 bacon pizza...the bacon was on about 1/4, the cheese didn't hit the edges, and the pizza came out before the salad. This is not the way this place was just 3-4 years ago. Once the consistency is back, can up the stars.

Visited for lunch last weekend and was not impressed with the food. My wife and I both ordered the meatball sub and found it to be mushy. The meatballs were mushy and the bread was mushy - no texture whatsoever. Their sauce is also on the sweet side. Some will like this and some (like me) would prefer a savory sauce. After tasting her sandwich, my wife "helped" our son finish his pizza, which she said was better than the sandwich. The side salad was OK, but nothing special. At least it was fresh. On the bright side, the service we received was great. We had a large group which included several children and our waitress was very patient and happily took great care of us. The atmosphere was typical of a family run place, which is fine. Well-worn vinyl table cloths and paper napkins dominate. Overall, if I was in the neighborhood, I might stop in and give the pizza a try, but I would not go out of my way to visit again.

Small, family owned, consistent, fresh, limited menu. Ingredients for a successful business! The staff is friendly. There are alot of regulars but new folks get the same level of hospitality. Ive been here a few times and every time, i leave happy. There's not much to say. This is how homemade pasta should taste--no pretense; just good food.

Among the best pizza in the area at a great price. Friendly service and a nice, casual atmosphere. I only get pizza because I love it, so I can't speak to the pasta. Salads are mediocre, but that's not why I go. Get the pizza! It's outstanding!

This place has a unique college appeal since it's close to Otterbein College and serves up pizza. Think of it as your local Buca de Bepo's that's owned by a local family and earns an honest living. I ended up getting the Calzone, it was really good with fresh ingredients and baked to perfection. Get it, it's good! Don't get the salads, they're typical grocery store style lettuce. They could spruce this up a little bit. Other than that, fantastic food and great family atmosphere.

We went for a quick bite to eat and it started out fine. The service and salads were good. My wife ordered spaghetti, my daughter the gnocchi, I got a pasta blend and my other two son's picked the sub. The spaghetti sauce was very acidic and not appealing at all. The meatballs were like minced meat with a gritty taste. The bread sticks were hard and fell apart as though they were old. For a family of five the bill came in at over 70 BUCKS. I wouldn't pay half that for what we received. I have had their pizzas which are mediocre, but stay away from the pasta, especially with the very acidic sauce. THUMBS DOWN as we will not be back. We will stick with Giammarco's

This place has improved significantly over the years. At one point it was hidden in the back, kind of creepy and dark, and had the most obnoxious shop in front of it. This place, since then, has seriously uppped its class level. There's been some impressive construction work done, and the whole place was opened up significantly. It was lit up delightfully with Christmas lights done in a reasonably untrashy (I hadn't thought it possible) way. All the waitresses were gorgeous with reindeer antlers, and ours in particular was helpful and nice and understanding. The pizza was *delicious* although it came more slowly than would be preferable. Apparently the place only has one oven. Try the garlic bread with cheese, it's a foodgasm.

We have been looking at this place going to Greater's. We decided to go in from a friend's recommendation. Opening up the front made it more noticeable and evident that it is a place where you could dine in with family or friends. We have been there twice to dine in. Service was great and the owner is very friendly with the regulars and other customers coming up to compliment him up at the dessert case where he usually stands to interact. What brought me back to this place though was not all this but what what we had experience in the food. I found their Lasagna was very flavorful and the meat in it, which tasted like Italian sausage gave the dish an outstanding flavor. The red sauce is very mild and it helps the lasagna flavor stand out. This is the kind of place that you can see what you get and it's real! We live more than 7 miles from it but would visit frequently.

Visited on a Friday night. Service was nice, seating was quick, order was taken. Then ... came the food. 1. All of the bread-products were recently de-thawed and many still had the taste of freezer burn. This is particularly the case with the garlic twists. The stuff from Pepperidge Farms is much, much better (and I really dislike that stuff). 2. Every thing ordered was greasy ... and greasy upon that. Sub sandwich - greasy. Chicken nuggets - covered in grease. Calzone -- ok, not greasy, but had the same freezer-burned dough and disappointing filings. 3. I've never had a more disappointing chicken parm sandwich. It was to the point that I felt bad for the poor chicken that gave her life for this thing. Unseasoned, unflavored - cooked in oil and still greasy. Put on freezer-burned roles, with lots of butter and some rubber-type cheese. Not good. Not even close. The one saving grace -- good service and the waiter was kind enough to placate our very disappointed youngster with a cookie that he enjoyed. We tipped him well, but I hope the kitchen doesn't get a portion of the gratuity. I would love to say we would give it another try - in the event this was a one-time problem - but with food this bad, it probably won't happen.

Awesome Italian food. Love the pizza, nice crisp crust and plentful toppings! Homemaid pasta and sauces! Do I need to say more?? I recently heard that they are re-locating from the downtown Westerville area, does anyone know where they are re-opening?

Tacky decor. Mediocre sauce that just tastes like a plain can of crushed tomatoes. Ok service with unfriendly waitresses. I know people in Westerville love this place but I don't know why. Save your money and go somewhere else.

OK.. after reading all the reviews on this place, I knew I had to make a point of coming here... so I did... more than once!!

I'm a fan.

Good food and service. Didn't take long to get our pizza and the toppings were fresh and the crust light and crispy with a buttery flavor on the bottom. Nice family atmosphere we will definitely be back. Look for parking around the back of the building.

This food is terrible. I can't explain beyond that. Don't eat here unless you like awful food.

This is the place to be if you love gnocchi like i do! They have some of the best sauce I've ever tasted. It's smooth and somewhat thick in texture, not watered down. Delicious freshly made gnocchi and amazing meatballs. A diamond in the hell hole that is uptown Westerville.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
