Sunday's can be lazy days and it was for us this past weekend. Visiting the "burbs" and enjoying local festivals. As we made our way into Westerville, we decided to stop into Jimmy V's .. Not because we have ever heard of it or it's food, but because the water feature and gardens of their patio! The food was a pleasant surprise. For an appetizer, we ordered their rendition of "Steamed Mussels" which were very large "Black Lip Mussels" (according to their menu), prepared with white wine, garlic, olive oil and herbs served with some toasted Ciabatta bread to soak up the broth. A very tasty dish. For my lunch entree, I ordered a "Souvlaki Gyro" which featured pulled pork, lettuce, tomato, onion, feta cheese and of course tzatziki. It was very tasty and quite filling. My partner in crime opted for the "Traditional Greek Gyro" which featured "Fresh Roasted Gyro Meat" (according to the menu), lettuce, tomato, onion, feta cheese and tzatziki. We also split an order of hand cut french fries. All in all, our dinner was quite tasty and the service was outstanding. If you're looking for fine dining .. keep looking .. but if you want a very good gyro and tasty mussels on a fantastic patio .. This is your place!

Solid place with an amazing outdoor patio. It's a little sports bar-ish for me, but it's well done. Everything I've had here is good, but not outstanding. They've become a staple of Uptown Westerville, and I'm so glad they're here.

  • Brant J.

I don't understand how this place can possibly call itself a "sports bar" while showing a Standard Def signal on all the TVs. What a lousy way to save a buck. I mean, it's 2014, and when I go out to a sports bar I've come to expect the sports to be presented in HD quality. For some reason the Westerville Browns Backers continue to meet here week after week. They must enjoy watching their inferior team on these inferior televisions. The food's good though.

Great local place for a quick drink or dinner on the sweet patio... Love the cold appetizer plate!

Had dinner here with a friend. We arrived just in time for the Monday trivia night. We didn't participate but it was fun to hear the questions. It did make it a little hard to hear our waiter, but we managed. It was also crowded, as the outdoor patio was closed. I went with the gyro. It was good, but not outstanding. I'm reserving any more judgment until I've tried some other menu option from here. It seemed like a fun place. Good atmosphere.

I wasn't sure at first but after our first dinner here as a family it will be a repeat for sure. Lots of vegetarian options. The service was good especially for how busy they were being on a 45 minute wait, but so was everyone else on main st. Local is always better in my book and this proves my point.

My parents turned me out to this place. Service is great, food is great. There are some healthy options, but mostly a good cheat day place :). It will be a glorious cheat day though, worth it for sure.

Great service, great food! Appreciate that Chris magically got us fantastic fully loaded nachos, and they are not on the menu!

Still a good place for happy hour, but Stongbow isn't available anymore. The half-off appetizers are good, but be warned-they're small. I had the Italian panini on my most recent trip and it was excellent. Several people raved about the saganaki aka flaming cheese. It was tasty with pita, and the pyromaniac's in your group will enjoy-but really, it's not something I would order again. The food is good and the promise of an excellent patio atmosphere will have me returning in the warmer months.

Nice patio and pretty good food. Kind of high-priced, though.

Hey downtown Westerville, you rock! I have been to the Jimmy V's in Grandview and after an afternoon of walking around we decided to park ourselves here to watch the Ohio State game and get some food. We sat ourselves outside on the patio. Gorgeous. They have a water feature, similiar to the one at the German Village location, and it creates a nice downtown location. They have a firepit, plenty of tables, and some high tables. We ordered a humus appetizer, which was amazing. It came with a couple slices of warmed pita bread and plenty of spread. I got the Italian Panini with sweet potato fries for dinner. The panini was great! slightly greasy/juicy but all in all delicious. The fries were just okay. Tasty, but not crunchy or salty enough for my liking and it didn't come with any dipping sauce (this may be just because I am super picky about my sweet potato fries though :)) My friend got the original Gyro and said it was delicious, I will take his word for it considering he pretty much swallowed it whole, and never offered me a bite! How rude :) They offer a large selction of beer, and always showcase a unique and different monthly beer-- so all in all great place to stop for a bite, if you find yourself downtown Westerville! p.s. there is a Graeters across the street for dessert!

Met a colleague here after work last week and she asked if I had ever reviewed it since I have been there so many times...not because its my favorite place, but because in the 'ville, its one of 2 pubs right down there in Uptown to choose from, so I frequent each of them equally for meetings and happy hours with Westerville folks. Living within biking distance is also a plus for me, so you make do with what you've got. But now that I draw on many visits, my WINTER (non-patio) rating is barely 2 stars. The ventilation is quite bad in the place, so regardless of the time you spend here - from 5 min on - you WILL smell like a fried gyro upon exiting. Hey, some may like that, but not me. If the service was better, I could squeeze out a 3rd star, but it's not. The servers are many times seeming to be put off by requests and are not consistently friendly. The food is ok and price points are reasonable. The apps are all pretty good, and splitting a few of those might be better than selecting an entire meal, unless you really want a pile of chips or fries (that co-stars with almost every entree). This location is small and the kitchen has its issues due to space and previous tenants, so considering all of this, these guys are doing ok. I will absolutely be back in a few months for the patio. The atmosphere there is great, and the setting is wonderful. The service is still inconsistent, so just order 2 beverages at a time if they are busy.

Given the scarcity of bars in uptown Westerville, I must rate accordingly. This place strikes me as a standard, solid somewhat-divey bar and grill. In other words, I mostly like it. On one of our visits we tried the nachos and some kind of strange plate with cold foodthings all over it, and both were ok. The pitchers were cheap though, which made up for the missing culinary fireworks. Cool place, nothing special, but for uptowners, it's a decent gem.

Finally, a restaurant that is of the quality to survive longer than 6 months in this location and another great place to go in uptown Westerville! I actually have never stepped foot inside the restaurant as it is known today. I strictly go to Jimmy V's in the summer. First I ride around on all of Westerville's great trails and then I wind up on the patio with a drink and an appetizer. My preference is the hummus platter. The bread is soft and warm and the hummus is just right (for hummus eaters, you know what I mean, they aren't all 'just right'- I have to admit we got a yucky order to go once that wasn't 'just right', but I'm going to give Jimmy V's the benefit of the doubt and assume it was infact a fluke.). Back to this patio. It's amazing. Big waterfall type feature, flowers, music and the atmosphere of quaint uptown. Enjoy!

Half-off appetizers are back on the happy hour menu and I am one happy girl! You get an extra star for that one, Mario. Cheers!

Hardly fair to be more than or less than 3-Stars for Jimmy V's Grill & Pub on Main Street. I mean, one visit for a couple of adult beverages on a chilly winter's night to talk volunteering with a friend. The establishment seemed like a friendly neighborhood watering hole to me. Parking at 7PM on a Thursday was decent; there were parking lots around the back and, even with snow piled high in winter, I got a spot by circling only once. My partner got one on the street - no problem. There was "live" entertainment, a soloist guitar player who was damn good. Didn't catch the name but he knew enough to keep the volume low but his sets were very nice. I don't visit Westerville much but I think JImmy V's Grill & Pub would get my business if I'm there in the springtime. They poured a good Jameson with rocks & water!!

I love this place. The wings, gyros, service and staff are amazing. We love the patio on a nice day. I'm also a browns fan and enjoy hanging out with the browns backers here. Also love that Mario, the owner, is often there and involved with the customers and staff.

Nothing special. I don't understand the attraction to this place. My friends love it. Maybe I'm the weird one.

Great service, yummy food. The cold plate appetizer is the best. The turkey melt panini is a plate full of tasty cheesy goodness.

  • Emily R.

The food was okay, average sports bar and grill food. Had a terrible experience with the service. Before even walking into the restaurant a server insulted my outfit while hanging out at a table with his friends. Once inside, our actual server walked by our table two or three times seeing our empty drinks and never asked us for refreshed beverages. By the time we finally flagged her down, it was after happy hour (seemed pretty intentional) and she was rude in response to our requests of drink orders. Not the best first impression of the restaurant, despite the good reviews I had heard from friends.

This is without a doubt the place my husband and I go to the most often in Westerville. Love the food, particularly the grape leaves, chicken wings, and mac and cheese bites! And the atmosphere is great. Sort of a dark dingy place but we love that about it. You can just relax here. Sometimes when they are really busy though the hostess stand is neglected. We once had to leave because no one came to seat us or take our name. That's been our only bad experience here. Sometimes they have live music, and there outside patio is beautiful in the summer!

  • Reese F.

Everything about this place stinks. Horrible food, below average service. The only reason I give 2 stars is because of their patio. Change everything else.

I've read the rest of the reviews and I don't think the others here are reviewing the right Jimmy V's. This was the worst dining out experience I've had in a long time. Apps were the best part and they were blah. The soda pop was oddly flat and seemed to be watered down. The service was not good. I mean, she was friendly, but we grew a beard waiting to even place our order. The food was the only thing that was fast (too fast?). I had the chicken BLT. When she brought it, she asked if I needed mayo. Yes, I do. Took her two trips to our table to realize I hadn't started eating because I was still waiting on my mayo. She finally brought it and this was the most bland piece of chicken ever. The bread was good. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. That's where the good part stops. I dunked the sandwich in my son's ranch cup to give it a flavor, but stopped eating halfway through. Server asked if I wanted a box. Nope. My husband had the fish & chips. He said the fish was a little bland, but luckily there was enough tartar sauce to get through it. The oddest thing of the night was our server came and picked up my husband's soda and never brought it back. We had to ask her to bring another. Seriously? Crappy service and crappy food. I'm sure the alcohol and music on the patio are nice, but the restaurant isn't worth your time or money.

I've only ever stopped in for a beer, but the patio is beautiful and I always enjoy the time I do spend there. Inside is really nice to buy I could see it getting cramped quickly. Healthy tap selection, I'd go five stars but I feel like I should try the menu before going all the way to five.

Panini Italian -- 5 stars Panini Philly Cheese -- 4 stars (needed sweet peppers a a little more dressing, imo). Table Service -- 5+ stars Bar Service -- 5 stars Outdoor Patio by the large water feature on a beautiful day -- priceless. Finally, a new favorite place to go to since moving out of SW Florida. Goodbye British Open Pub. Hello Jimmy V's!! Next visit, we try something more traditional like the Chicken Lemon Rice Soup and a Gyro!

I always have a great time at this bar! I visited Jimmy V's this past Saturday night and there was live music and a Bon fire outside! I was thrilled. My group was able to a table right away and our waitress came right over to get our drink order. Every waitress I've ever had a Jimmy V's has been super friendly and attentive. There is usually a mixture of young and older adults, which is nice since in Westerville there are hardly any bars that attract a younger crowd. If you are looking for a casual and warm environment to sit down and have a beer, this is it.

I had the ruben & chips, not the best ruben and not the worst. The best ruben in Columbus is up in New Albany!

Joined a group here for drinks. Wasn't the best. One person had a bug in their drink. Some were really weak or were too strong. Nothing in the middle that tasted really good. They were high priced, also. May come back to try food.

Ooh, my 42nd review! Well, in homage to Douglas Adams, I'll just have to grab a towel and make certain it's a good one. I've only been here twice, but it's a very nice, cozy little place with one great thing going for it - but I'll get to that in a second. Second visit, of the today variety, was just a lunch and munch stop by; didn't even know they served food till I perused some of the reviews, and as a fan of Greek cuisine decided I had ta try it. Went with the sausage/feta gyro, sans the peppers. Sausage and feta were both solid, well cooked, good ratios and consistency, though the pita was just okay. Service was fantastical; stopped by repeatedly to water me; my sister says I am what is commonly referred to as a "guzzler." Especially post gym, I seem to absorb water more than drink it. ANYwho, as I said, great service, solid food. Nice seating, ring of booths with some tabling in the middle, nice little bar area, tellies abounding throughout, both above the bar and around about the eating area. There seems to be a nice outdoor eating area, though per usual I avoided that like the clap (thanks, Jimmy Dugan). First visit was of the adult beverage variety with a couple of friends. Prices are fine, not overly loud, good lighting (dim but not overly), generally good ambiance for conversations and consumption. As to the real treat - I have it on good authority that if you exit via the back door, make an immediate left, just a few paces away you'll find a very nice, very climbable tree. Great little spot for an inebriated, romantical conversation with a lady friend (or guy friend, whichever floats your goat). All in all, both for barsical and foodalary visits, this is a nice little haunt. I intend on trying more of the menu over time, and giving that tree another climb or two.

The family asked where I wanted to go for my birthday and I said let's try out Jimmy V's in Westerville. Good call everything worked out perfect. The food was very good, they had a huge beer selection and the employees were all great. The place has a ~Cool Clubhouse feel~ and it's more than just a sports bar, it's a real food place. It was busy but never felt crowded. There's a sign behind the bar that says, "Relax You're At Home"... they mean it. There was a lot of original one of a kind Buckeye memorabilia throughout the place. We were told the owner was a former Brutus. Thought that was cool. As for the food I had the New York Strip Steak with lemon potato wedges and mixed vegetables. Liked it all. The mixed vegetables were spinach mixed with other vegetables and they were the best I've ever had... and that's saying something because I usually hate spinach. My wife had the Macedonian burger (had to taste it) it was OFF THE CHAIN GOOD! It kinda reminded me of a Gyro but in burger form. It's a definite must try! Note: We were tipped off by a friend about the Macedonian burger and it may not be on the menu, ask for it. My mother who is... how do I say it nicely... a kinda high end picky eater, loved the place. We all had baklava sundaes for dessert. Another winner. We'll definitely be going back.

Really good food and a great patio! Try the gyros; that's all I'm sayin'. =)

Absolutely impressed. Everyone was fantastic from the hostess who remembered our faces and grabbed us from the bar to sit on the patio to the bartender who personally shook our hands and introduced herself and asked our names. We stayed there long enough to grab a couple drinks and an appetizer before heading out to the patio... Where she personally came out to make sure we were doing ok and if we needed anything ....and called us by name! Food was wonderful, ambiance was relaxing... And nobody knew it but my fiancé had proposed right before dinner. They made a very memorable evening for us!!

Jimmy V's is a pub with a great patio. The interior of the restaurant is nothing special but - weather permitting - the patio is a fantastic place to enjoy dinner and/or a beverage. The menu is typical pub food (lots of sandwiches, burgers, paninis, etc. although they also have vegetarian options for the veggie lovers) and Jimmy V's does a good job of preparing most of the menu options. Especially attractive are their 1/2 price appetizer specials from 4:00-7:00 weekdays. They offer a good selection of appetizers and all are well-prepared. The jalepeno poppers, the Red Hook shrimp and the potato skins are all exceptionally good. When ordering beers (especially during Happy Hour) you need to be sure to understand what you consider to be domestic and what they consider to be domestic. I've been surprised on more than 1 occasion when ordering what I considered to be a domestic beer (for example - Yuengling draft is considered a domestic beer but Yuengling Octoberfest is considered a premium beer - $5.50 vs. $2.50). They have a good selection of beers - both on draft and in bottles - you just need to be sure that you understand which beers are considered domestic, premium, import, etc. Overall - Jimmy V's has been a great addition to the Westerville community.

What's right: Food - Central Ohio restaurants rarely offer smelt, available here. Rather than try a standard, I went for the seafood platter that included the smelt. Fresh and correctly prepared. The platter included mussels. Very nice. Calamari. Fresh, correctly prepared, but cut into over large pieces. Fried shrimp are only okay. Drinks - Several drafts were served properly in clean, chilled glasses. Prices - Very fair. Service - From greeting to departure, everybody was helpful, capable and knowledgeable. For improvement: Not much Condiments - Menu offered the platter with Cajun spicy dipping sauce that was good. No tartar or cocktail sauce available. They were able to provide horse radish to mix my own cocktail. Setting - I sat at a booth with a wobbly table. For a new place, the furniture shouldn't be shaky so soon. For a first visit, pretty promising. I hope Jimmy is successful. Uptown needs more popular destinations. Welcome to town!

Over the past 20 years, there have been a lot of establishments that have filled this space. I'm happy to say that Jimmy V's wins the prize for the most successful implementation. Being at the heart of Westerville is a great location, and makes it easy to have Graeter's for desert! I had a gyro, which was good (but nothing like a Nazareth gyro), but it sounds like I should have gotten a burger. Having fried calamari makes this place a frequent stop for my son, as well.

Was in the mood for a burger tonight. A real burger, hand made, fresh that day, not a pre-pressed frozen hockey puck. I ordered the 8 oz. American burger with L, T, O & american cheese on a toasted bun. WOW! That burger was terrific! And, it came medium, just the way I ordered it. Thanks Mario, I'll be back.

Great place to be to watch the Browns on Sundays. Home of the Westerville Browns Backers, Jimmy V's is the place to be for good times with fellow Brownies! The food is good - traditional bar food choices - and the beer is cold. This is one of the few restaurants in the area where you can get Great Lakes Christmas Ale on tap. I like the burgers. I really wish there was a choice for nachos.

Used to go to GV location on a regular basis and now as a Westerville resident enjoying this location. Their paninis are consistently good. A gyro also a solid bet, though no longer my fav gyro place (mezze now is 1). Their hand cut fries are a nice upgrade to any meal; also like the lemon potato wedges. They do have a nice patio with a wall fountain just like the other locations. On our most recent trip our server got a little and our beers took awhile to come out. The cheese wasn't completely melted on my son's grilled cheese. He didn't seem to mind and happily ate away.

Pleasant surprise. Driven by for years - well, since it opened and thought nothing of it. Last night my sweetheart suggested Jimmy V's for a quick dinner bite. We hit the one by the zoo a few weeks ago for a beer - what's the harm? It was to die for....mushroom burger with onion rings made medium ROCKED! The burger was as big as your head. the onion rings were super spicy with just enough breading to make it amazing. Not over not under and not greasy! Greek salad was ok - stick with more bar food if you see what I'm saying. We always split our entrees so it was a good balance. For 5 pm on a Sunday the place was busy. Took a few min for us to get waited on at the bar but with how busy it was that was understood. The staff transition was smooth and not smothering - our original bartender advised they were swapping shifts and did we want to cash out? This was asked AFTER the new bartender on staff checked in on us to make sure we were OK. Definitely don't drive by and not give this place a second thought....the service was good, on top of things, food was AWESOME and beer was cold. We will be back!

I work near the Westerville location of Jimmy V's, so I eat here at least once a month. Pros: The food is a combo of pub grub and Greek favorites.Several sandwiches can be ordered Panini style, gyro style, or as a regular sandwich. Both the sweet potato and fresh cut fries are amazing but sometimes arrive overcooked. Burgers are big, great tasting and cooked to order. During happy hour most of their appetizers are half-price. Alcoholic drinks are nice and strong. The patio is a great place to eat when the weather is nice, but be aware that people do smoke out there & it can get quite noisy. Cons: The service here can be hit or miss. Although the food often arrives quickly, be aware that if you are on a short lunch hour, you may have to hunt down the waiter even if the restaurant isn't very busy. Never had issues with rudeness, servers just seem to sometimes "disappear."

Frequent this bar only because the know my drink and it's not 8$ like most places. Crowd is lackluster. Patio in the warming months is lovely.

I love the variety if good on the menu at Jimmy's. Given that I live within walking distance, it's a great spot to meet friends for lunch, dinner, or a drink. The Greek food is excellent. The atmosphere outside in the summer is unbeatable, with the water feature, flowers, and uptown location. However, my biggest complaint is that the live music inside in the evenings is unpleasantly loud. The music is not terrible, but definitely doesn't improve the experience and makes it almost impossible to converse with people inside the restaurant.

  • Keith B.

Meet a buddy here for lunch, wanting a spot with a patio (a real patio, not just a table on the side walk). The service was good for a late lunch, but the food was pretty mediocre. Nothing really to write home about, but it wasn't fast food! For the patio, the service, and the not bad food, I could see myself coming back.

Didn't know how to properly pour a Guinness. Gyro was cold because it was left on the pass too long with no heat lamps over it. Bathroom has several maintenance issues. It was fine but not a place I'd rush back to.

I'm sure this bar and grill does well because of it's location but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. Now, we did go on 4th Friday but, i have a feeling this wasn't their first time working with this type of crowd. They know it's going to be busy but they seemed completely unprepared. They had no glasses to put our beverages in and our server brought out silverware and napkins 5 minutes AFTER we received our food. So it sat there getting cold. Our service was really quite awful. She messed up two of our orders and only came back once while we were eating. Again, I know it was busy, but they knew this was going to happen. Be prepared. The food was okay. Nothing great. I was confused how this was supposed to be Greek. I've had much better Greek food. There are better places to eat around this main part of Westerville.

  • Matt G.

The calamari alone saved this from being a one star review. The Greek salad (this is a greek place, right?) was shockingly small for a $7 dinner salad, and there were only two lonely kalamata olives on it; it was a bit overdressed as well. I can get a better salad for $2 at Pasquale's across the street. I know this is a pub, but the swarthy-mouthed drunkards who were spewing profanity really didn't help my enjoyment. As I said, I know it's a bar, but I feel like management should have intervened on behalf of the many children who were present. To their credit the calamari was really wonderful and our server was on point. I left feeling like it wasn't worth the trouble though.

Update: the calimari here is to die for! Nice upscale but casual bar in uptown Westerville. I am a transport from Cleveland so this Browns backers bar caught my interest early into my life in the burbs of Columbus. My BBQ wings were fresh plump and crispy, Great Lakes Brewery beer the coldest, service kind and quick - I'll be back!

Great atmosphere, good service and awesome menu. Bar scene and family establishment too! It's mostly a Mediterranean cuisine. So Greek food with an American twist.

Wonderful time here the other night - had the veggie wrap which was delicious, perfect size-loaded with tomatoes and hummus! The waiter kept the coffee coming which was awesome...must've known my batteries were low. Sure, this is a sports bar but it has a cozy feel to it--the kind of neighborhood bar that becomes a nice Saturday tradition with your buddies where no one thinks to go anywhere else because the bartender's expecting you. The only reason it's not getting five stars is because it needs to be bigger. -by 7pm every seat was taken so I can see folks having a wait. Anyway, I'll be back and, if crowded, just hang out on the patio-music's good.

Food was very good value - draft beer was super cold as I like it. Only downfall was the $4.99 cheesecake dessert. Might have been worth $1.99.

I'm from Westerville, born and raised. Up until a few years ago, there was no alcohol to be found in this town. Not one restaurant had a liquor license until about 2005. I remember reading about how it would ruin our little city, but places like Jimmy V's shows that Westerville can allow alcohol and still stay classy. I like going here for a variety of reasons. It's right in the heart of uptown, so you are within walking distance of parking and shops, they have a great patio for the warmer months, and the food and drinks are good and well priced. It's just a cool place to come hang out and I wish there were more places like this in our area.

A small Bar/Eatery overlooking the streets of downtown Westerville. Live music on select nights. Looking to grab a drink? The bar area is very small, so get there early. The restaurant itself isn't very big but the food and service is good. Looking to save some penny's but eat out on the town? This is your place

The patio is absolutely perfect. I live downtown and it's nicer than Lindey's or Barcelona (both of which are awesome). The waterfall is great, and the flowers are stunning. The wife and I met for lunch and we both had salads. The gyro salad is great.

Our first time won't be our last!! I had the southwestern spicy chicken panini and it was hands down the best panini I've ever had. My husband had the Philly cheese steak panini and said it was amazing. The service was great and very friendly. To top it all off, this is a Browns Backers location :) We will most definitely be returning very soon!

I came here for dinner tonight. It was pretty easy to find because of the large roof ornament they have. And the smokers were hanging out right by the front door. Great to walk into a place right through clouds of tobacco smoke. Most of the tables were just painted plywood. Nothing special about that. I started off with the chicken & rice soup. It was "okay" but the rice was cooked so much that it became invisible. My main course was a sandwich. The "American Panini." I ordered it with hot peppers to spice it up a bit. There wasn't a lot of ham on it but it was okay too.

My parents wanted to do dinner over in Uptown the other night, and asked if I'd like to try Jimmy V's. All things considered, it isn't bad. It's a very "sports bar" atmosphere, but the food is more like a greek diner. We tried the appetizer hummus, and it had a very thick, coarse texture - very different from the almost silky smooth offering at some of the other places in town. I also grabbed a Gyro platter for dinner, while my Dad got a Greek Salad with Gyro Meat, and my Mom went for some sweet potato fries and another of the house salads. I only mention the platter vs. the salad with Gyro Meat because they looked almost identical, and if anything I think I got larger portions of Gyro meat, lettuce, tzatziki, and tomatoes than my Dad did for $2 less. Service was solid and prices were still pretty reasonable. If I'm back in Uptown Westerville and looking for a dinner option, they're probably worth a return trip, but I don't see myself driving into Uptown just to go there.

Best Patio in Westerville, maybe Columbus. I always get the traditional gyro and it never disappoints. Their beer selection is fantastic and service is always good. The only problem is you have to wait for a patio table in the summer. I guess that's a good problem to have!

Location and patio are great. Our server was very personable and attentive. My first cocktail was completely flat but they fixed it with no problem. The food was mediocre. I had the pulled pork sandwich. The "sautéed onions" were basically raw quickly grilled onions so they were not good. Also my sandwich came with chips. Plain old ruffles potato chips. Was hoping for homemade chips. At the restrooms it smells very much like urine. That's always a turn off and since its a single bathroom you have to stand there and wait while smelling that if someone is in there. Ew. Overall I did love the patio and service so I will go back, but will probably skip the food.

Love the Macedonia burger. Best in town. Great table wine. Great salads and panini. Well the food is just fabulous. Just a well balanced, comfortable, and great place to eat and hang out. Has a great local neighborhood feel. Oh and try the village salad, Tzaziki (sp?), & baklava sundae!!!

Great food! We shared the fried cheese (can't remember what it's called). I ordered the veggie panini, delicious, with sweet potato fries. Really great place for grabbing a bite and watching the Buckeyes!

Food: inconsistent! Sometimes depends on what day you are here. Service: Bartenders are super especially Chris! Servers are generally good however need direction. Restrooms are pathetic!!! Need to be remodeled and cleaned all the time. Patio is great! Happy Hour is decent!

Outstanding food if you can get a server. I've been there several times and the food is always good to great. The weak point is the service. I'm not saying that the servers are bad! They are fine. But if the place gets slammed at lunch, you will be out of luck with the (usually) two servers and one bartender. I know that staffing is hard to predict and you always have to err on the lower side. My favorite is the Gyro salad. It's a large portion with plenty of meat. I could eat that salad as a daily staple and never get tired of it. The regular gyro is always a winner and comes out hot and fresh (once again, if it isn't slammed). The Macedonian burger is great for an occasional treat, but be sure to carry some Altoids with you for the rest of the day... And dear God pray that you don't have a Macedonian burp in a public place. It'll make all those around you wail and gnash their teeth.... If it is a warm day, eat out on the patio. Westerville has a beautiful old downtown and it makes for a really nice backdrop to your meal.

Great spot in the heart of historic uptown Westerville. Unique, eclectic menu with most notable selection being their gyros. Good selection of beer on tap. Fantastic patio. Good service. Cleveland Browns backer bar.

We went to Jimmy Vs to get some smelts and twisted feta. Unfortunately after being seated we were not ever greeted by a server. We waited 20 minutes and decided to go elsewhere since no one would come to our table. Very disappointing. I don't know if we will go back. Too bad and I liked their food too but it does you no good if you don't get the opportunity to order.

Had the gyro salad on a business lunch. The meat was good but the lettuce was brown. Also, we got appetizers -- feta dip and hummus dip. The feta dip was pretty good, but how can you mess up feta anyway? -- and the hummus was actually kind of awful, extremely salty and kind of a bizarre consistency. Overall, an okay experience.

Certainly the best patio-food scene in Westerville; and the Browns' games are always good-time fan sell-outs here, during season. All the Greek basic-foods are played well here [except the fried smelt are more like a Mrs.Paul's overbreaded concoction than the traditional Greek quality products other places]. Especially enjoy the unique assortment of flavors on their Jimmy-V's Cold Appetizer Plate (and its bargain price during happy-hours) as well as the gyro salad-plate (or platter) with a good side (small as it is) of their lemon potato-wedges. Better burgers here than at Max&Ermas down State Street. Ask for a table in NICK's service area -- great waiter who will advise and attend to all of your ways and wishes here.

I just revisited my favorite little place yesterday and tears almost came to my eyes. After spending close to 3 days or nights a week here during my senior year at Otterbein (the time there increased as the year was coming to a close), separating with my "home" once I moved was harder than I thought. I have yet to find a place I like to hang out with friends as much as Jimmy V's. The patio is to best. The only downfall is that it fills up very quickly. Since Westerville has only 2 bar/restaurants seating inside and out becomes limited very quickly. The gyros and paninis are the best. I have cravings for the Spicy Southwestern Chicken panini on a regular basis. They also now have a half-off appetizer menu to go along with their awesome drink specials. The appetizers are great and include jalapeno poppers and spinach and artichoke dip. The food is great. The drinks are cold. The staff is fun. Live music on most nights. The Westerville location is different than the others, in a good way.

I'm sticking to one food item for this review. Jimmy V's Sweet Potato Fries - so good! Had a business lunch there this week. Always great service. Love Uptown Westerville for lunch.

Been here many, many times with husband and the kids. We really enjoy the Gyro platter. Basically it is a Gyro sandwich deconstructed and laid out on a plate. Their home-cut fries are very tasty. I have also had their Gyro sandwich and it rocks too. I enjoy patronizing small business.

The service here is always terrible, been to this place 3 times. The food is adequate, but certainly not great for the price they charge. The waitresses we have had always act like it's an inconvenience to ask for a refill on a drink. They stand around behind the bar gabbing with each other rather than serve customers. It takes forever to get your food, a refill, or your check. On the other hand, if you are a college kid who wants to go eat wings and chug beer, this might be your place. We will never go back.

Joined a group here for drinks. Wasn't the best. One person had a bug in their drink. Some were really weak or were too strong. Nothing in the middle that tasted really good. They were high priced, also. May come back to try food.

I've only ever stopped in for a beer, but the patio is beautiful and I always enjoy the time I do spend there. Inside is really nice to buy I could see it getting cramped quickly. Healthy tap selection, I'd go five stars but I feel like I should try the menu before going all the way to five.

We ate here a while back and enjoyed it. The dining experience outside is quite nice with their patio. I had the BLT and my fiance had the Cheeseburger. Both were quite good. The staff was not rude but also not very friendly, especially the bartender. While my fiance was using the restroom I tried to strike up a conversation about how many people came to watch the NFL games there on Sundays, to which he replied "hardly anyone" and then walked away. LOL...ok...... However our server was pretty nice, no issues with her at all, save for I could have liked my water refilled a bit quicker, but then I do drink a lot of water quickly.. All in all I'd say this would be a great place to dine if you want to dine outside on a nice day but just an average place to go to if you plan to dine inside.

  • Kyle D.

Pros: The patio with the fountain/waterfall and flowers is very nice and relaxing. Cons: My girlfriend and I ordered salads and it took about 25 minutes for us to get our food. The meals were insanely over-priced. We spent $40 for a couple of salads that looked about the size of a pre-meal salad. The waitress was nice but the service was slow and the overall cost was totally not worth every stopping there again.

    (3)

Everything about this place stinks. Horrible food, below average service. The only reason I give 2 stars is because of their patio. Change everything else.

    (2)

Love this place! Great spot for a beer and the food is good too. Love the appetizer platter! It's a must share for the table.

My parents turned me out to this place. Service is great, food is great. There are some healthy options, but mostly a good cheat day place :). It will be a glorious cheat day though, worth it for sure.

Enjoy!
