They have a nice location in the historic downtown of Waterville. The large sidewalk allows them to have five tables outside. Inside was all tables, no booths. We visited at 10 AM on Saturday. The place was bustling but we did not have to wait for a table inside. The coffee was great. Much better than your average diner coffee. The food was really good. I had the country skillet with a side of pancakes. One odd thing was that my hash browns were not salted. I don't know if that is how they make them or if they forgot. It did not bother me though. The service was OK, maybe a little slow. I won't reflect that in the rating since we had a little one with us. It might be that my perception of time slows down as we approach the speed of gripe.

I had my standard breakfast as of late, comprised of crispy bacon.. rye toast.. and tomato slices. So the tomatoes were good standard quality, and I got about half a tomato, so that was nice vs other places where I get 3 silly slices hehe... The bacon was pretty good tasting, and they did cook it crispy like I wanted, so I was pleased =) The rye toast was not the best I've ever had, but I was satisfied =) I also enjoyed the fact they had sugar free jam available, so with a glass of iced water and decent coffee I thought my breakfast was satisfying =)

Great price, excellent service, amazing breakfast! Can't wait to bring my family here for lunch! Might make this my morning coffee and newspaper hangout!

This is a small country style place. The Wait: If you come Sunday morning, the wait is usually long. The staff is always a mix of experience. Today the hostess didn't even give a wait time when I asked, she said there are three people ahead of us. Another group asked the same question and the answer was the same. When they insisted she said maybe 25 minutes. There always seems to be sufficient wait staff when its busy but time to seating seems slow. I saw five groups look inside, see people standing and then leave. Service: The service is usually pretty friendly and fairly fast once you are seated. Food: The food quality is pretty good, as good or better than Bob Evans and the portions are generally larger. Price: the price is reasonable, cheaper than Bob Evens by a few dollars. Not bad. Overall if you have patience to wait during busy times its a nice place. Non busy times it is always worth consideration if you want diner style food.

So we tried it again...sat at the bar which was fun but..the food 2nd time around was not good. I had big hopes too...potatoes again were like mashed potatoes, bacon was super greasy almost inedible and it was crisp but very poor quality. The pancakes were just bad - I ordered the cherry granola which sounded good but the consistency was like paste. So disappointed, it's busy, cute place but don't think I'll be going back.

Good place to grab brkfst or lunch (open till 2pm). Food is good especially Malted Waffle Place is small and busy on wknds. Service is consistently good. Like Bob Evans it's nothing too special, but consistent with reasonable pricing.

Love Dales! It's a place that my growing boys can get a big breakfast and it won't break the bank!! I wish they could expand though, almost always a wait. :)

We have been going here every since it opened, and I am " The Duke" so I guess it is time to put in my review. It will be short and sweet. This is a GREAT place to eat. It is only open until 2 pm so only breakfast and lunch. Usually we have breakfast. The biscuits and gravy is really good, I had that this morning with scrambled eggs and struggled to finish because of amount of food. Coffee is a little strong for my taste, but is fine after I add a little water. We have had lunch a couple times, and soup was very good. One small gripe is up charge for mayo or other things on some of the sandwiches if it is not on the sandwich already. But the prices are pretty reasonable. All in all, we have never had a bad meal here. If we have had a problem, it has always been fixed promptly. My wife and I definitely recommend this place. Enjoy.

Stopped in Saturday for lunch. Wife's club was good my chicken Philly was tasteless, wouldn't consider it again. Chicken dumping soup was average not bad but,. Service sat us promptly got our drink order then handed us off to our server that seemed to careless we were there. This all being said in the past we have and do enjoy their breakfast might just have to stick with those.

This place is a surprise hit. It's on the main strip in Waterville, and it's just a delightful little diner, the perfect spot for breakfast, brunch and lunch. From yummy cereal to amazing omelets and sandwiches, it's like Seinfeld meets Mayberry. I had no expectations walking in, and walked out satisfied. Rave reviews to both their chicken salad sandwich and fries and grilled chicken omelette with hash browns. SO GOOD.

Decided to give Dale's another go for breakfast this past Saturday. I have to say, after a year, there have been several improvements. There are finally some serious waitstaff that know their jobs and keep hustling. Previous staff spent most of their time eating, drinking and gossiping behind the counter. Food has improved, not nearly so greasy as previous visit. I loved the home fried potatoes and the scrambled eggs and ham were tasty. One tiny food gripe, lighten up on the butter slathered on toast and english muffin.

Best breakfast burritos. Real and spicy chorizo with a great wait staff. Also great pancakes.

Very good! Sourdough French toast is to die for. The home fries confused me... Slices of potatoes. Coffee is strong. Nice decorations and friendly people. I overheard a couple interesting stories from the old "regulars". Overall a nice place!

Visited three times in three months. So good enough to go back, but won't become my favorite. Last visit owners where there working...I think their presence made it worse...not better. Staffing appeared tense and commented that they couldn't wait for them to leave (over heard them talking to the couple beside us). Food was good but eggs come out over hard not easy.....as I ordered on one meal and on the other ...Eggs Benedict, yolks never ran out....poached extra hard. Service was quick and polite on each visit. We had to sit at the counter on two of the three visits because place is small and often busy for its size at breakfast time. Counter is tight and end seat is between a pole and the counter...no room..too many seats for such a short space. So..three star rating says A-OK....two stars says Meh. I've experienced better...so both rates are correct. Since I can't rate two and a half...I rated it a 2.

The service is worth five stars. The staff there really hustled and did what they could to help everything flow smother. Lots of people came in and were seated fairly quickly. The coffee was adequate, but wasn't great. The corned Beef Hash isn't the stuff out of a can; it's real, lean corned beef and comes with poached eggs. Liked being able to get a chicken sandwich during breakfast time. The Country Skillet was really good. Portion sizes were good. They also had clean bathrooms.

After reading some reviews, one would think that food and service would be poor. My experience is just the opposite. This is a small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch only. I have been here many times and have always had excellent service. The staff seats you promptly and checks on you regularly to fill coffees and drinks, check on quality of food, etc. I am always amazed at how quickly our meals come. The menu is very complete and I have never had a bad meal. Sales Bar is owned by the same owner and is known for its good food- this place carries on the tradition. The fact that the place is always packed in the morning testifies to how much locals like it- if you are from the area, you always see someone or several someone's you know. Local scenes are painted on the walls along with old photos of the town from the past. The restaurant is located on the historic main drag, and was restored by the owner to fit in with the older feel of the town. It is clean and neat. The owner is often there in the morning helping out and greeting guests. This is a positive, making us feel welcome. Prices are reasonable, another reason to come back.

Great new place with modern diner decor! Our server was awesome too! They lost a star because they were out of mushrooms for my husbands mushroom/Swiss burger and he also said the men's bathroom floor was so greasy he couldn't stand in one spot without sliding. I enjoyed the country skillet. He ended up having the fish sandwich instead of the burger. If it wasn't so windy outside we would've enjoyed our meal on the outside patio tables. I plan to go back again soon!
