Very lovely place I had the scallops and they were wonderful I also tried a couple bites of the steak and calamari. There substitution rules where a bit odd which is the only reason it is four not five.

This place is so ugly! It's like a hole in the wall bar. We were seated upstairs in a room with red lighting that gave me a headache and made me slightly naseous. Service was incredibly slow and our waitress kept disappearing for long periods of time After getting bread, we sat at the table for 45 MINUTES before our salads arrived and when we'd only had about five bites of that, our steaks came out. I got a strip steak that was very fatty and unevenly cooked. It was well done around the outsides and red in the middle. I am really shocked that the people of Toledo like this place so much. Because my husband and I have had the pleasure of eating at some of the finest steak restaurants around the country, we know for sure that Mancy's really isn't that great. On the plus side, I brought my leftover steak home and my dogs liked it a lot.

Having lived in the greater NYC area for almost 40yrs we are new to the Toledo area. Having struggled to find some great restaurants, our friends took us to Mancy's steak! It was excellent! Quality of food, service, and ambiance! This meal would rival any NYC steakhouse!!!!

Mmmm I cannot wait to eat some good crablegs!!!!...Well, I DID get to eat a whole pound of scrumpdelicious "KING CRAB LEGS"!!! They were "to die for". The most mouth watering and sweet, meaty, tasty crab legs that I've had the pleasure to eat in a very long time! My husband and I have been talking about returning to Mancy's for 18 years! I finally got him to take me after an appointment at the Univ. of Toledo Medical Ctr. We got seated right away. Though it was a weekday just about 5:00 pm. It was not busy at all and I did have a nice sun dress on, so I figured I was appropriately dressed. You can also wear blue jeans to Mancy's if you want to, but it is much more fun to get all dressed up and go here as a special celebration. The prices are high, the least expensive entree is about $25.00 with the most expensive being the crab legs or the Lobster at Market price, which was $79.00 the day that we went. Since it was a total celebration for us and our 17th anniversary dinner, we went and didn't even discuss the prices. Not only were we seated right away, but the server came right over to the table and explained all of the specials and dishes of the day. She was knowledgeable and dressed very nicely in the tuxedo, server look. She knew the answers to all of our questions and let me taste two different salad dressings on my salad. Our dinner came in a timely manner and it was spectacular! I got a salad and the special French Onion soup. There was no special charge or upcharge for the special French Onion soup. You must pay the regular separate total regular price for this, but it's worth itl The soup is mouth watering and has a delectible taste that is strong and wonderful with the melted cheese tasting excellent. This soup was very hot as well. The salads were awesome tasting with a little cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, romaine lettuce etc. The bread basket was awesome with special crackers and a great tasting hot bread with home made butter Then my King Crab legs came and they had split them for me, luckily. I had an easy time of it, getting the meat out of the shell. It really was sweet and meaty and made my taste buds tingle! My husband had the Scallops and they were mouth watering and had the richest taste. Each one gave you several bites, though when you first set your eyes upon the dish, you think you won't be full when you are finished. Looks are deceiving and it is more than enough. It tastes great and you really do get alot for your money. I recommend Mancy's for anyone who wants great Seafood and/or steak! The atmosphere is dark and romantic. The food is extra wonderful in taste and appearance. Lastly, the service leaves you not wanting or needing anything. I highly recommend "Mancy's" to anyone who wants to celebrate a special day, or who just wants to "live it up" one day and give their taste buds and their partner a "celebration".

Had a great time. All the food was amazing. I highly suggest getting a reservation. I got one and waited lest than a minute and heard another person say it was an hour wait. Sucks for them.

Probably the most beautiful dining space around. My family and I have been coming here for decades. Consistently wonderful! We've dined in upscale places all over the country, but it's still special to walk in the door at Mancy's. I'm grateful that the Mancy family provides this fantastic restaurant to our city.

1st off I've been here 5 times I believe but this is my 1st review. Yesterday I was on their website around 4 pm and decided to make a reservation wasn't sure if it was too late but to my surprise I was able with one click online to reserve a table for 8:15. Awesome!!! After we checked our coats (I love they have a coat check) even though we arrived 10 min prior to our reservation they seated us right away. Very dimmed old school steakhouse atmosphere. Ordered food, steak of course why on earth would I go to a steakhouse and order something else! My filet was cooked perfectly , I ate all of it and seriously wanted more. This is hands down the best steak I have ever ate. Each time I come here everyone at the table orders the filet and I'm not joking says "this is the best steak I have ever eaten". If it's my birthday , anniversary, or just in the mood for a great steak this is where I'm going!

After sending me a gift certificate for $50 it's supposed to be all fixed. Why would I come in and spend more money if I had a horrible experience? $50 would barely buy the steak! I at first appreciated the fact that Gus took the time to respond and address my concerns but then he flat out asked me to remove the review without asking if I had even had a chance to stop back in. Here is Gus' message to me: Hi Jeremy, Gus M. has sent you a message on Yelp: RE: Your Review "Jeremy, Did you receive the gift card from my office staff? Please let me know. I was hoping that your post could be removed from yelp and any other social media. Thanks Gus"

Always an exceptional experience and meal. As a Toledo home town girl, Mancy's is the bar by which I measure other steak house experiences... a time tested favorite, should be 6 stars!

This is the place in Toledo if you are in for a steak. The best steak i had in the city, the best baked potato i had also. The ambiance is nice, quiet, all classy people. The decor is upscale and organized. The waiters are professional, polite and caring. It is a local business that makes me even more happy. I wish i tried it long time before! The pricing is not cheap BUT you pay for what you get!

For the last 25 years, we have visited Mancy's Steakhouse approximately twice a year, for special occasions. Part of the reason we have always preferred Mancy's for special occasions is (aside from the fact that it is pricey) is that for years Mancy's Steakhouse has been the place to go when you are all dressed up, and celebrating something special. Expensive ? Yes, but the food has always been consistently awesome, and every bite worth every penny. Until the last couple years. We visited Mancy's late in the summer of 2012, and were disappointed. We were a party of four. The waitress got a huge attitude when we asked for a second basket of bread. We ordered cocktails and appetizers before dinner, wine with dinner, and dessert. Okay, I just read that last sentence, and realize we probably didn't need that second basket of bread, but that's beside the point, haha. Regardless, the waitress did have an attitude about our request for more bread. During the cocktails & appetizers, the waitress never came around and asked if we needed anything . She only came once during dinner, and was already walking away when she asked if we needed anything. Not the usual service we experience from the wait staff at Mancy's. We were disappointed that, although we were dressed to the nines, it was obvious that Mancy's has discontinued any dress code whatsoever. There were several men in plastic flip flops, t-shirts and cargo shorts. At several different tables. Women in ripped up blue jeans and dirty tennis shoes. ( And I don't mean "designer" ripped jeans.) I'm not normally one to give a crap about how anyone dresses, but again, part of the reason we always reserved Mancy's for special occasions is for the whole experience. All in all, not a good night. Mainly because it just seemed like a letdown , from what we usually experience at Mancy's Steakhouse. Decided to give them a second chance last weekend ( May 2013). Dress code has obviously been discontinued completely. Yikes. It was bad. I can get a great steak for less money at other places in town if I want to go casual. We always order crab legs, but market price is now up to $ 80.00. No, thank you. My husband ordered the rack of lamb. Menu clearly states "rack of lamb" . Now, anywhere else we order rack of lamb, we get just that. A rack of lamb. Not three little skinny ribs sliced off a rack. My husband was in shock. I think our new go-to restaurant for special occasions will be Rockwells.

Went to Mancy's for dinner during one of my numerous visits to the Toledo area, as we were looking for a something with a little more class and better taste than Chili's. The restaurant itself was pretty nice and we were able to get a decent table on a weeknight. Our server was very friendly and the wine list was pretty good - Ok, it was fantastic compared to a chain restaurant but I digress... I order a filet which had a very good taste - was cooked to my liking and was not tough or fatty at all. The salads were pretty good as well. My colleagues has different dishes, but were pleased in general as well. Overall, I would visit again on another trip as this is one of only two places in the Toledo/Perrysburg area that seems to have pretty good food.

Mancy's is a true staple in Toledo. If you want a great steak, this is the place to go. The beef is hand selected and aged perfectly. The service is always very good, usually anchored by veteran waitresses. Mancy's also has a classy atmosphere and offers a nostalgic throwback feel. Don't expect a modern and trendy room, but instead step back to 1972 when things were a little more quiet, classy and fine dining was a special treat. I knocked one star off of the rating and down to a "'4" because of the side dishes. The rice that I had was so salty and reminded me of 3 day old Rice-A-Roni. The kitchen staff obviously failed to taste the dish before it left the kitchen. It was inedible to be honest. Aside from that, reward yourself with a mouth-watering Mancy's steak!

  • Mark M.

Well, I now know how to earn a gift certificate from Mancy's...LOL Mancy's is a true old-school Midwestern steak house. A place where traditionally the cigar smoke should be as thick as the smoke from grilling steaks (if the do-gooders had not stepped in to save us from ourselves). Dark and gloomy is right for a place like this, and really it's not that gloomy. Just not glitzy. Think leather and wood, not mirrors and track lighting. The kind of place you might expect to run into the Rat Pack. Yes, the dress code has gone a bit lax, and I would not mind seeing some minimal standards enforced, even if not as far as jacket required. The food is amazing, and no matter what you order, it will be wonderfully over the top in both quantity and quality. Seafood selections are top shelf. It's not Peter Luger's, but you aren't going to pay 200 dollars a head either. Steaks are cooked to perfection. Remember to order med-rare or less, especially if you opt for the dry-aged offerings, and you won't have get on Yelp and whine. I don't think they take reservations on the weekend. The service is impeccable, and the wine selection is more than adequate. I have never left feeling I didn't get more than my money's worth. It's a bit out of our budget to go there weekly or even monthly, but we try to visit a few times a year, which manages to keep it very special.

My history with Mancy's goes way back, back to when it was 'Mancy's Ideal'. I live in Indianapolis now and we are blessed with fantastic, non-chain restaurants. I hadn't eaten at Mancy's Steakhouse as it's now called for at least 15 years. The wife and I were passing through Toledo last week and I thought it would be interesting for Mickee to experience one of the few restaurants that still exist in Toledo from the days when Toledo was in its prime. I truly forgot how fantastic Mancy's steaks are. The French onion soup was exactly as I remembered it, the oversize baked potato, Caesar Salad, all great. The aged Ribeye was the best steak that I have had in years, nice and thick, perfectly cooked and great seasoning. It was also nice to see that the Mancy's haven't seen the need to 'modernize the decor'. Even if you're not planning to stop in Toledo as you travel through Northern Ohio, go to Mancy's, it's just a short distance off of I-75. And if you might think that I am writing this because I'm a fan of the Mancy family, not really. John and George Mancy weren't very high on my list when I lived in Toledo, but their restaurant was.

I'm not a fan. i think the food is decent but it is so dark in there that it makes me think the place is dirty. i know this place is an institution in Toledo, but, i think they can do better. As far as fine dining, i don't think i would go that far. mediocre dining, yeah. i wouldn't get dressed up or bother with waiting for a table at this restaurant.

Simply the best steak and seafood in the area. Add to that great service and a cozy antique feel and you have one of the best restaurants in any city. I love this place.

I met a friend here for on a lunch break. They have pretty decent prices for lunch. I got the luncheon sirloin steak which came with either soup or salad and a side and was only $10.95. For the soup, I tried the New England Clam chowder. The soup wasn't as creamy as I expected. It was more watery/brothy and didn't seem to have a lot of clam. But it had a lot of potatoes and was pretty tasty. For my side, I chose the rice which was really flavorful, maybe even a little TOO salty. It was good but I felt really parched after eating the rice and ended up drinking a lot of water! As for the steak, I wish that I had spent a little more for a nicer steak so I could better judge the food there. The luncheon sirloin was kinda tough. I'm guessing that at that price, it's not the best quality of meat. It was seasoned well so it tasted good, but it was just a little tough to chew on. My friend got the Sirloin and shrimp. The steak tasted and looked just like the luncheon steak. The shrimp was shrimp tempura, which I've had better. Our waitress was polite but not overly friendly. Since it was the lunch rush, she was running around serving all her tables. She was as attentive as she could be for all the running around she had to do. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience but nothing popped out as extra ordinary. The food was good, the portions were plentiful and the prices were decent.

I always look forward to an evening at Mancy's. You can't beat the classic steakhouse atmosphere. There's beautiful woodwork, rich decor, and class everywhere. Whenever I travel for work, my team inevitably ends up at a top tier steakhouse (Keen's in NYC, The Palm, Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Smith and Wollensky's, Sparks, Hyde Park Grille, we've been to them all). Is it the best? No. Is it the best value in terms of accessibility, quality, and affordability in Toledo? Yes. You can go here anytime and get a far better meal than any of the chain "steakhouses", and pay less. Plus, you'll be supporting a local Toledo classic. Actually, why in the world would you go to the chains? Staples for my wife and I are: crab stuffed mushrooms (the best!), steak tornadoes for my wife, and the ribeye for myself (definitely the best cut for flavor). I am one who always tries to order something different when I go out, but I have a hard time changing when I come here. If you are thinking of dining here, quit thinking and start doing. You won't be disappointed.

I've been to Mancy's numerous times, but in my pre-Yelping life. I always try to make it here when in Toledo, as I think it is probably my favorite steakhouse in all of the US. The steaks and sides are always excellent, and the value is excellent as well (you can still get an aged 16 oz ribeye for $24.95, for example). What really sets Mancy's apart from others though is the dining in a vintage and historic 1920's setting, with all the attending decor and environment. They have actually been in business since 1921. There are multiple quaint dining rooms, though they can be on the darkish side (the lighting, that is). The service is also always very attentive and top notch. This time I had the 18 oz NY strip steak, medium rare, and garlic crusted. Just lovely it was. My colleague had a 10 oz filet mignon, his favorite choice, and being a creature of habit, he has stuck with this for years. Can't wait to visit again!

I'll be the first to admit that Mancy's is a bit pricy, but, after you've eaten there you'll see why it was worth every penny! My last visit there was an unexpected surprise from a very dear friend. I ordered the Ribeye (she insisted I get the larger ribeye so I'd have leftovers to take home!!) and in absolute honesty, it just melted in my mouth. I can say with certainty, that was the best steak I'd ever had. My friend ordered the Surf & Turf and said the Lobster Tail was perfect! (but she was too full then to eat her steak). Everything was excellent, the rolls were warm and buttery (real butter) and the salad was soooooooo good. Loved the creamy salad dressing and the croutons tasted home made. (I admit, I'm a salad person. I love a good salad:) Oops, how could I forget my French Onion soup??? It was to-die-for!!! I could've had nothing but the soup and still rated it as I did. It was perfection. The atmosphere is still amazing...... Soft lighting, soft music. And staff always there asking if we needed anything. Oh man, now I have to go back!!!

Celebrating a birthday always calls for a nice dinner. And when one finds themselves in Toledo, you have a much shorter list to choose from. Mancy's the classic steakhouse--poorly lit, serves freakishly large baked potatoes, smells like meat and has a great red wine selection. The steaks they serve are first class, and despite the super-human size of their side dishes, do an excellent job at every stage of the meal. If you're feeling extra unhealthy, you must go for the hash browns! If you're in Toledo (first off, WHY!!?), give one of the Mancy's restaurants a go!

  • Hank's Dad R.

A Toledo institution. Some institutions are good, some bad. This is one of the great ones. All four of the Mancy's restaraunts are excellent, and this probably is the best of them. I feel it has the best steaks in town. All of the food is great, not just the steaks. We go here every once in a while just to get a burger as they're the best. It's hard though as we have to remind oneanother we agreed to just a burger. The service has always been excellent, and the ambiance is wonderful too. Take your girl here to impress her. About the only negative thing I can think to say about it is that it's on the opposite side of town from us.

My husband and I go here once a year for a pre-Christmas date night. If you can I would recommend going around the holiday season for the decor and music. A huge nutcracker greets you when you first walk in and the whole place is very festive. They have excellent extra dirty martinis and their blue cheese olives are amazing. If we are okay with being super stuffed we will get the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Cheesy and delicious. You can customize your steak with toppings and sauce. I recommend the ribeye steak with mushrooms and onions and the bordelaise sauce and get the loaded baked potato (cheese, butter, sour cream). You can diet in January. We always get the strawberries romanoff for dessert. Strawberries sauteed in some sort of liqueur and butter and served warm over Haagan Daz icecream. This is perfection. As in lick the plate when you are done perfection. They also have an affordable wine list. Service is great and they will modify the service pace based on what you desire. We always tell our servers to take it slow. We even requested dessert about 20 minutes after we were done with dinner so we could finish our wine and the server was back on the dot with our dessert. We've never been disappointed and love to come here to kick off the holiday season.

Hands down best steak ever! Its expensive but it's worth every penny. Love the atmosphere, love the staff. Their french onion soup is out of this world. If you can't afford their dinner I definitely suggest hitting them up for lunch, you won't regret it!

Visited this Toledo institution for the first time this weekend for our anniversary. We're not from Toledo, so we had an outsider's perspective. Overall, it was very good. The Good: Our steaks were cooked to pure perfection ... better than some of the more well known steak houses we've been to all over the U.S., and the aged steaks were truly fine. A good selection of wines; our bold Cabernet was perfect. Nice selection of custom cocktails. Sat in a booth with my spouse, next to each other, with glass panels on either side; you could see out, but didn't have to hear the noise. Waitress was delightful and friendly, and tried really hard to please. I didn't think the drive or the neighborhood was all that bad - we're willing to travel for good food. The Bad: Extremely dark and gloomy, like Dracula's castle - not a window in sight; reminded me of Bern's Steak House in Tampa. The waitress was nice, but not too bright. When we asked her if the restaurant had a sommelier, she said "No, but we have Chardonnay!" LOL! The restaurant was packed, but the crowd could have dressed up a bit more; it was the usual Toledo attire ... baseball caps, shorts, t-shirts. It would be nice if they encouraged some type of dress code to add to the ambiance. It was also surprising that the restaurant doesn't offer a token dessert for those celebrating special occasions; I thought that was pretty common among "higher end" establishments. We'll be back the next time we are hungry for a really good steak, and want to sit in the dark.

The last couple of times that I have come to Mancy's the food has been incredible. The atmosphere and service are also topnotch. It is as close as you will get in Toledo to a top tier steakhouse in Chicago, LA, or NY. Prices are reasonable for what you get and it's always an experience.

If you haven't been to Mancy's Steakhouse before or in a while you need to take the time and get ready for an awesome night. We went Friday night and I was concerned that I was bringing in a bottle of wine for our Celebration. They had Opus One on the menu but not the '93 that I had brought. I was looking forward to that bottle and it was special enough not to just drink it at home. The four of us had a great night! We started with Laura and she never disappointed us throughout the evening. Had a Dirty Martini which was awesome and the others had Comos. My wife who loves Comos said it was one of the best she had ever had. We then had Salmon appetizer and the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms too both were fantastic. In judging any Steakhouse of course the Filet has to be cooked perfect - it was. Medium Rare . We finished with Desserts Creme Brulee and our friends had a Chocolate Cake. To top the night off seeing that they had 150 year old Grand Marnier and boy was it smooth. In the grand way we were treated and that they accepted and actually made me feel great about my bottle even though it had a soft cork and broke. (Acceptable for a 19 year old bottle). They decanted the wine for us. I truly had a great time. Mean anything to you well I work as a Restaurant Manager, still a chef, and work for the number one restaurant company in the World. The Cheesecake Factory. Well again it was a great night one I'll remember and my wife and friends won't soon forget either. The bill never made it over the value of the wine I brought, but the dinner, the evening, John Mancy decanting the wine for us made for a great evening. I will be returning to Mancy's soon hungry for more.

ALWAYS top notch food and service - lunch or dinner. This is a definite dining location for a special occasion, but also a definite for the occasional dining out experience. Not many restaurant owners have as much class as Gus Mancy, or take as much pride to make sure each guest has the best dining experience possible. Enjoy!

Sadly, this is what passes for fine dining in Toledo. Not actually fine dining. The portions are huge, as they usually are at a steakhouse, but the food is meh. Luckily, it's fairly cheap, so I'm not wasting a ton of money. But still, not worth your time if you like good food and you have lived anywhere except Toledo or enjoyed fine dining in any major city.

  • Kayla W.

The best food I have ever eaten in Toledo can be found here. Hands down. The only drawback is that some of the seating areas were too dimly lit in my opinion. Other than that, this place is amazing. There is a reason it is a T-Town institution. Our waitress was more than attentive and the bread they bring you is incredible. I had the King Crab. Yes, you can have good seafood in the Midwest. I didn't think it was possible. You'll feel like you are eating a fresh catch on one of the coasts. Yes, it is that good. It is expensive, but worth it for a special occasion. Make it happen at Mancy's.

I have gone since my last review and I enjoyed my experience even better...the food I had was FANTASTIC (Shrimp Alexander) and the service was better than expected. I think the prices also went down some (at least a few dollars an entree) which is also a HUGE plus. I left stuffed and satisfied this time, compared to wanting more some last times I visited. The ambience of the place was the same...very charming building, old, family owned, immaculate, and always something to look up at on the walls. It is still a must visit place if dining in Toledo if you can...

This was my first time at Mancy's and the food and service was 5-star. The steak was the best I have ever had in Toledo, and the waitress was one of the best that have ever served me. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.

Great lunch. Rib eye is cooked perfectly every time and at a great price for lunch. Soup is ok and salads are awesome. I need to go for dinner sometime. Ribeye was 16.99 for lunch.

The steak is so good it will ruin all other steaks for you. the only complaint is it that the dinning room could use some up keep.

I love this restaurant. Went here for the first the other night for my birthday. We drove 40 minutes from the south detroit area and it was worth it. First of all, this place is beautiful on the inside! Spiral staircase, stained glass, handcarved wood pieces, etc. Then the food was amazing! We ordered crab stuffed mushrooms that were so good (fresh crab and the mushrooms were not soggy at all, plus it was a large portion). We both got the bone-in ribeye cooked rare (perfect). It was seasoned wonderfully. I've had my fair share of steaks, and this was definitely up there. Fresh baked bread was great and even the baked potatoes were excellent. Everything was a very fair price too for the quality and quantity! So happy with this restaurant. The only downside was that we were placed next to a very, very loud table (yelling birthday party) and our table for two was awkwardly long so we had to shout to each other. No big deal though, that's on us bc we should've just asked to wait for another table. In all, we love this place and will make the trip back. Highly recommend!

I would give Mancy's steakhouse a 5 star rating, but i had an experience there where the staff was completely rude and not too accommodating. I was very surprised by that, mainly because I have never seen anything like that any other time I've been there. The food is fantastic though, and Mancy's is my second favorite steak house in northwest ohio. The only thing that I am not too crazy about is the lighting in this restaurant. It is quite dark for my liking.

We drove from Chicago to Detroit, and specifically detoured to have a steak dinner here. The food was delicious and service excellent. The atmosphere is relaxing and it is great for both - high-end business and private dinning!

Never a disappointment. All in one of the best steakhouses in the country. The wine we chose would have been nice...the owner Gus suggested a wine similar that was awesome. What a treat. We will be back.

When I'm home from LA for the weekend, this is pretty much the only restaurant I'm excited to visit. The steak kills me every time-- so good. I actually haven't found its equal in Los Angeles yet. Also, I ADORE the decorations. Fireplace, Tiffany lamps, and Christmas.... the Christmas lights are to die for! I love this place and always will.

Great service, delicious steaks, and a wonderful dining experience. The staff know the menu, and want to make sure your steak is perfect. It is a little dim, so you should know to expect that. It feels old in a good way. If you want a good steak in Toledo, come here!

Great service; good food. GREAT atmosphere. Beautiful building. Had our company holiday party there, upstairs. They did a great job. Part f the fabric of Toledo. Must experience. You won't be disappointed. Wait until you see the baked potatoes. HOLY TOLEDO!!

I have lived almost my whole life in Toledo and have never been to Mancys. I now feel as if I have wasted my life in Toledo. I should have been eating here at least once a month. For those of you that LOVE fine dining and demand the best quality food and service then Mancys is the place to go. A true refuge from pretenders who claim to be the best at this or have the highest quality of that. Mancys is the real deal. Lets start with the service. A friendly staff that really know the menu. One of my dinner companions just couldn't remember the drink she wanted but could remember a couple of the ingredient. The waitress knew what she wanted after the second ingredient was named. Very impressive.. Their food is of the highest quality and EVERYTHING is fresh made. The bread basket contained house made bread and these wonderful sesame crackers that were a delightful surprise. We ordered a Caprese Salad and the tomatoes were fresh and the Mozzarella cheese was cut thick and it was VERY tasty. If I had to critique something it was that they put onions on the salad, which were out of place, and 4 pieced of tomato and only three pieces of Mozzarella. Obviously this is me being critical for the sake of being critical. We also ordered the Crap Cakes of which I'm not usually a big fan, but these were fresh and very tasty. No complaints what so ever. My Entree was the 10oz Fillet with the Bone marrow butter crust along with a side of Hollandaise. WOW, This was the BEST steak I have had in years..... YEARS!!!! I was a little happy and a little upset at the same time.. Upset at the other restaurants that have been feeding me swill and calling it food for the last few years. I guess.. in the end.... I'm just relieved to finally have found a good restaurant that I can run to when I need to have a little bit of elegance, an escape from the cruel cold winter days to sit by a warm fireplace and be served the best quality food by a friendly staff. Thank god for Mancys.

I've eaten @ Mancy's for at least 45 years, miss the Ideal and Olde Tyme Saloon . I habitually eat surf and turf when I go there, it's the best. It was this trip as well, the salad no longer has cubed beets in it (always a tasty plus) the oysters rockafeller were good as well. My wife had the ahi tuna special, the fish was excellent (same source as the Bluewater I would assume), but the sides were real horrorshow. Broccoli and sticky rice, WAY undercooked broccoli and dry cold rice. Not once but TWICE. How about some creativity on sides for a $28 piece of tuna. Got a free mousse as a consolation. Not needed, just make the food @ one of my favorite places edible!!

Great place for great steaks. Two appetizers you can't go wrong with are the Oysters Rockefeller or the French Onion Soup (best in town). Can be expensive, but it's a great treat once in a while.

Wish there was more stars! I have eaten @ Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille & Fleming's several times & they are "NOT" 1 bit better, & nearly double the price. Many have said Mancy's is to expensive, but I say "you get what you pay for, & it's worth EVERY penny!" My "ALL TIME FAVORITE" steakhouse! Ribeye, wedge salad & french onion soup "AWESOME"!!! Their hash browns, bread & crackers are really good also. Service is always "GREAT"!!! I am a dessert lover & have tried every dessert on their menu & if there is a weakness to Mancy's, that would be it. Do yourself a favor & go!!!

Mancys, what is happening! We are regulars, I mean we go every few months. Last night we went for a birthday and had a party of 9. Something was off all night. server was excellent as always but, the French Onion soup didn't taste its normal delicious self...I don't know what it was but it tasted off! One of our party had an amaretto sour which went back once but I don't think it had any sour mix in it. The second really wasn't any better. Worst part, 3 of our steaks went back and 2 more could have based on undoneness. Not sure we have ever sent a steak back at Mancys and for the price, you shouldn't. Honestly, the worst part was we never saw a manager which is a requirement when there are so many dinners that are wrong. Of course they fixed it but it reminded me of what I go thru at Rockwells. Come on Mancys, you can do better

This was our first visit to Mansi's and definitely will not be our last. Our server Elle was extremely personable and made the night even more enjoyable for us. All four in our party said the seaks were cooked perfect and tasted fantastic. The wine list was very good as well. Bench seating could have been more padded and comfortable.

A few weeks have elapsed since we made the random decision to stop off in Toledo on our way back from Detroit. And thank the Yelp gods we did. Mancy's Steaks is so insanely good it only makes it better that the inside is so cool. This place is THE classic American steakhouse. From the amazing wine cellars surrounding the top of the place, to the classic ultra low light atmosphere (pics for proof below), Mancy's is as much as a feast for the eyes as for the stomach. And the stomach part is what earns Mancy's each and every star. The steak is hands down the best steak I've very had, and from a fairly experienced carnivore, that's saying something. Oh and the potatoes... 1 lb potatoes do exist and they come with beef, it's pure heaven, pure perfection. As I said before, it's been a few weeks and I'm trying to figure out reasons to go back to Toledo!!

I rarely frequent steakhouses, but I've been to Mancy's twice, and both expiriences were memorable. The space has a great atmosphere and the food is top notch. If in the mood to treat yourself, this is a fine place to do it.

Mancy's is fantastic. Absolutely solid traditionally prepared steaks and sides and sauces. No complaints here. Everything I have had has been wonderful and the service is always exemplary. Mancy's is where you go when you want to feel special. The bordelaise sauce is my favorite on filet and I can never pick just one appetizer. My hands down favorite was a fresh tomato with a red wine vinegrette and the French onion soup.

I have had the 2nd best steak of my carnivorous career here....and even though I'm only just shy of 31, that is saying something. We take steak seriously in my family. We eat it practically moving, bloody, charred, and full of flavor. The only reason I give Mancy's 4 out of 5 stars is because they profile. If you're not with people they recognize, the quality of your steak may not be top-notch. This has happened to me before. Unfortunately, Mancy's staff...that is real-talk. My family has been coming to this establishment for years and we are so grateful for it. I get great quality cuts when I am with THEM. You may want to give 2 kids on a prom evening date a less quality cut of meat, but you really should not give it to the girl with the pixie cut and excited look in her eye. That is me and I know what the hell I am eating. That said, I am ALWAYS excited for every occasion I am lucky enough to come to this establishment. Toledoans save their money for a long while just to have a special evening here....and it's obvious why they do. Viva la Mancy's!!!!!!

A bit pricey, but worth every penny. The house dressing and steak sauce were the only downside of an otherwise great dining experience.

Like many Toledoans, I've been going to Mancy's for special occasions for just about as long as I can remember. I've never had a bad experience here. The service is always wonderful, the servers go well above and beyond to make sure your experience is perfect, and are always knowledgeable about the menu and very willing and able to make good recommendations. My only issue is that I can't possibly eat everything in one sitting, but I really, really want to. Start with the wedge salad or French Onion soup - you won't be sorry either way. The wedge is covered with a generous amount of fresh, high quality bleu cheese. Mmmm. And I think the French Onion soup is about as famous as their steaks. My favorite steak is either the filet or the New York Strip with the bleu cheese sauce - yes, MORE bleu cheese! And on the side, a baked potato bigger than your head. If you're a beer drinker, make sure you try one of their special beers, brewed by Maumee Bay Brewing. I've since moved out of state, but insist upon going to Mancy's when I'm visiting family in town, and I hope I'll be back soon.

We have been going there for years, and on past visits always gave it 5 stars, however on this visit, if it were my first, I would most likely have only done 3. I have always had steak in the past, and it has always been totally top notch. This visit I opted for the Ahi. While it was good, I ordered it seared rare. Seared rare means cool on the inside. It came out steaming hot, with a very hot center. While still good, it did take away from the flavor. Also, the wasabi sauce that came on the side seemed to have zero wasabi. It was a little green in color, but that is where the similarity seemed to end. I also ordered a martini that was not prepared correctly. I have ordered this same drink there many times before, and always perfect. Most likely just an off night, and thus my 4 star rating, as 1 so so night does not take away from numerous perfect ones. I will return without a doubt, and I am confident my next visit will be perfect. Finally, if I have one other complaint, it is that when they bring the whole table steaks, they insist you cut into them while the server watches to confirm they are prepared correctly. I find this practice is more like what Lonestar or Outback would do, and think Mancy's cheapens themselves by doing this. I hope they change this policy.

Incredible. My reviews are usually longer but there isn't much need with this place. Just go, get whatever and it'll be amazing. I always get the NY strip with sautéed onions. But again, get whatever you'd like it's amazing. The atmosphere is contemporary with an old world feel, it's pretty cool.

This steak house is top notch. Food has always been quality and delicious. The place isn't cheap but worth the price. It has a nice atmoshere ot it. Get the steak rubbed in garlic. Can't go wrong there. Service has always been exceptional. Well worth the hour drive from the Detroit area.

This is one of the best steakhouses in the country. They use prime beef seared at 1500 degrees, the result is out of bounds! I usually get the Cajun flavored crust which is absolutely amazing. They also offer a Maytag blue cheese & garlic crust options. The loaded baked potato with cheese, bacon, sour cream, butter & chives is sinful! A full 1lb potato! We shared the bread pudding & it was scrumptious! Must try. If you're in the toledo area & don't mind spending a little extra on an extraordinary meal, go to Mancys Steaks!

Like "the Beirut," Mancy's does not require a verbose review. Probably the best steak in Toledo (although Rockwell's is right up there, too), and quite probably SOME of the best I've eaten in any of the cities in which I've lived or visited. (And, I've eaten quite a few filets, in quite a few towns!) Although it MAY be possible to have a bad experience in this classic restaurant, I haven't had one yet. I see some of the other reviewers complaining of low lighting. Seriously? Jesus people, that's called "ambiance." If one of the most common criticisms is "lack of lighting," I think the place is doing pretty well. Excellent food, large portions, great atmosphere and good service.

simply put, one can get a steak at most restaurant establishments. however mancy's is THE steak place in Toledo. the atmosphere is incredibly classy, and the help is great. by far the best restaurant in Toledo. you can't possibly get a bad cut of meat, they simply don't exist in the mancy's universe. also they ask you to cut your steak as soon as they set it in front of you, just to ensure that they cooked you cut just the way you requested. NOT cheap, but cheap food ain't good, and good food ain't cheap.

You don't have to actually order a steak at Mancy's to get some beef into your system. The air here is so steak-laden, you'll be picking up bovine protein every second you breathe. Mancy's is your classic old-school steak house, and one of the oldest restaurants in Toledo. Never a big favorite for me, but you could do a lot worse in Toledo.

We visited Mancy's a couple weeks ago to celebrate a landmark birthday, and I didn't want to embarrass the birthday girl by bringing any of this up during our visit. But we were both very disappointed and although I sent this same feedback to the restaurant via their online comment card, I heard not a word back. To start, we ordered a bottle of the Cloudline Pinot Noir, and it was served warm. We typically drink red wine at home at room temperature, and we don't expect red wine to be chilled but we don't expect to notice that it's warm, either. I might have said something to our server but she had already mentioned it was the last bottle. They advertise in the menu that they keep wine in a climate controlled wine cellar above the bar, but apparently the bottle that was served to us wasn't kept there. The steaks were done properly in the center, and while we understand the concept of charring, the outsides of my steak were quite dry, so that only the innermost 3-4 bites of my 7 oz filet met my expectations. The birthday girl's steak wasn't so dry but was more charred on the outside than seemed appropriate or necessary - she described it as blackened. We both enjoy garlic and ordered garlic on our steaks. That was a mistake - we expected them to be seasoned, but instead they were overwhelmed to the point where we could barely taste the beef. Finally, by the time dessert arrived, we were both so physically warm that we just wanted to get out of the restaurant. We noticed on our way out that it was much cooler in the bar than in the restaurant. We're experienced diners, and in fact the birthday girl is an accomplished home cook and serves a better dinner most weeknights than we had tonight. When we spend more than $150 on dinner for two at a restaurant that is supposed to be among Toledo's best, we expect to be impressed. Our money would have been better spent at Paesano's in Ann Arbor, Revolver in Findlay, or Diva, were it still open. I'd like to support a local restaurant and an institution at that, but we won't be back anytime soon.

The best birthday dinner and the best rib-eye steak I ever ate. Of course this place is saved for special occasions, and it's always delicious. Mancy's will put a dent in your wallet, but it's well worth it. I look forward to my next visit

Mancy's is a historic steakhouse with near perfect atmosphere and steaks prepared by people who obviously understand beef. There is no finer dining in Toledo and the only steakhouse that competes regionally is Rockwell's. The walls are adorned with historic photos and the lobby staircase winds upward to stained glass windows. The bar is great for meeting friends and waiting for a table and the dining room is dark and quiet with plenty of privacy. Eating here is an experience, and it is worthy of the most special occasions.

The last couple of times that I have come to Mancy's the food has been incredible. The atmosphere and service are also topnotch. It is as close as you will get in Toledo to a top tier steakhouse in Chicago, LA, or NY. Prices are reasonable for what you get and it's always an experience.

Our money would have been better spent at Paesano's in Ann Arbor, Revolver in Findlay, or Diva, were it still open. I'd like to support a local restaurant and an institution at that, but we won't be back anytime soon.

One of the best steaks I've ever had. The place is almost too dark, but it enhances the ambience and the environment.

I love this place. It's very old and dark and sets a very romantic mood. The service is always good as well as the food. The steaks are great! We also get the stuffed mushroom caps for an appetizer. yum!

Probably the most beautiful dining space around. My family and I have been coming here for decades. Consistently wonderful! We've dined in upscale places all over the country, but it's still special to walk in the door at Mancy's. I'm grateful that the Mancy family provides this fantastic restaurant to our city.

Great service; good food. GREAT atmosphere. Beautiful building. Had our company holiday party there, upstairs. They did a great job. Part f the fabric of Toledo. Must experience. You won't be disappointed. Wait until you see the baked potatoes. HOLY TOLEDO!!

Very lovely place I had the scallops and they were wonderful I also tried a couple bites of the steak and calamari. There substitution rules where a bit odd which is the only reason it is four not five.

Great service, delicious steaks, and a wonderful dining experience. The staff know the menu, and want to make sure your steak is perfect. It is a little dim, so you should know to expect that. It feels old in a good way. If you want a good steak in Toledo, come here!

Thanks Gus"

The best birthday dinner and the best rib-eye steak I ever ate. Of course this place is saved for special occasions, and it's always delicious. Mancy's will put a dent in your wallet, but it's well worth it. I look forward to my next visit

Great place for great steaks. Two appetizers you can't go wrong with are the Oysters Rockefeller or the French Onion Soup (best in town). Can be expensive, but it's a great treat once in a while.

Very lovely place I had the scallops and they were wonderful I also tried a couple bites of the steak and calamari. There substitution rules where a bit odd which is the only reason it is four not five.

It is still a must visit place if dining in Toledo if you can...

simply put, one can get a steak at most restaurant establishments. however mancy's is THE steak place in Toledo. the atmosphere is incredibly classy, and the help is great. by far the best restaurant in Toledo. you can't possibly get a bad cut of meat, they simply don't exist in the mancy's universe. also they ask you to cut your steak as soon as they set it in front of you, just to ensure that they cooked you cut just the way you requested. NOT cheap, but cheap food ain't good, and good food ain't cheap.

This was my first time at Mancy's and the food and service was 5-star. The steak was the best I have ever had in Toledo, and the waitress was one of the best that have ever served me. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.

The best birthday dinner and the best rib-eye steak I ever ate. Of course this place is saved for special occasions, and it's always delicious. Mancy's will put a dent in your wallet, but it's well worth it. I look forward to my next visit

Had a great time. All the food was amazing. I highly suggest getting a reservation. I got one and waited lest than a minute and heard another person say it was an hour wait. Sucks for them.

Probably the most beautiful dining space around. My family and I have been coming here for decades. Consistently wonderful! We've dined in upscale places all over the country, but it's still special to walk in the door at Mancy's. I'm grateful that the Mancy family provides this fantastic restaurant to our city.
