Great place for a frozen margarita and a good time on a balmy evening. The food is pretty good and the atmosphere is lively!

When we walked in we saw four guys just standing around acounter talking. None of these people greeted us until we stopped right in front of them, that counter turned out to be the host/ess stand. The greeting we received was "2?", then we were walked to a table and the host simply walked away, so the first person that says anything to us only says "2". After being seated I watched several, well should probably be honest and say I saw all of the employees messing around on their cellphones. 10 minutes after being seated someone came by to drop off chips and salsa. After another 5 minutes someone came by to get our drink order, someone else delivered the drinks which apparently took about 5 minutes to make 2 cokes and took our order. The food had the texture, taste and look of microwaved food. I intentionally got the biggest dinner on the menu simply so I could try a variety of items. It is sad to say that the best part of the meal was the stale chips and canned salsa. The server didn't stop back until we were both done eating, so both of our drinks sat empty the entire time we had food in front of us. Meanwhile we watched our server and every other employee still playing around on their cellphones or eating. There were only 3 other tables, all of them actually got up to find a server and kept getting up to ask for items. I won't do this, instead I will just see how bad service can get before I walk out or don't come back. As we tried to pay for our meal the cashier was eating gumballs(she had many of them laid out on the counter), literally popping one in her mouth every minute or so right in front of customers. She was texting someone when we got up to pay and ignored us until her text was over. She greeted us with "Everything good", my reply was "Sure" which is generally a tip-off to something was wrong, obviously she didn't care much like the rest of the staff. This is nowhere near authentic Mexican cuisene, unless the people who came from Mexico that have cooked for me aren't from the right Mexico. I will never go back to any El Camino, since anythign that can possibly go wrong during a dining experience did on this occassion and noone in the place cared to help any guests.

IMO, El Camino Real is the best mexican restaurant in the city. It is extremely charming spot with its full on mariachi band and friendly waitstaff. The people here are genuinely friendly, the food portions are large, and the margaritas tasty. The patio is always open and the place can get pretty packed with a long wait. As for the food, I always order steak fajitas and as someone mentioned, the menu is extensive-there's just so much to try!

Hola, buenos noches mis amigos! Me gusta El Camino Real, es muy bien! Es authentico, mmm sorry my espanol is a bit rusty....but I'm sure you're pickin' up what I'm layin' down! My kiddo niece just turned 10 and her present from me was lunch and then some shopping for her gift. Me, my gal, niece and nephew went here because this is her absolute favorite restaurant. It happens to be one of my favorites for Mexican as well! As many before have noted they have a neat mission style layout inside and out w/ a huge patio for warmer weather. The staff is friendly and helpful and the menu is full with everyone's favorites and El Camino Real especialades! This place gets packed pretty quick on the weekend. I bet it will be jam packed on Cinco de Mayo! I have yet to see the mariachis, but would like to soon so I can learn to play some mariachi licks on my nylon string guitar! Adios amigos!

Voted best in Toledo 2010 I think this place is still riding that vote... or I wonder if this is the best I fear with the worst would be. The service and staff were very friendly and the ambience was quite lovely but I could not say anything good about any food other than the chips and salsa on the table when we sat down. I ordered the El Tapatio and my chicken breast was so thin it was dry, my chorizo was very dry and gritty. The guacamole was decent though could've used a little bit of salt. I certainly had plenty of rice and lettuce and sour cream. The kids meals were grossly overpriced. Most restaurants including my favorite Mexican food place in Cleveland kids meals range around four or $4.50 and include a drink. The kids meals here were at least six dollars and drink was not included. My youngest son continued to say the whole time we were going there he wanted eggs and bacon. So I ordered him scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs were mushy and quite disgusting and did not resemble eggs at all. There was a skin on the bottom of them so it was pretty obvious they were cooked on to high of a temperature. He received a huge plate full of bacon but all of it was very dry and something akin to what I would feed my dog or throw into another food for bacon-like flavor. Most of my meal I kept putting the salsa for the chips on to it to add some measure of moistness to try and rehydrate the food. I would not call either my wives or my own meal before $15 lunch. My children's meals were definitely not worth the price paid. Even the cheese quesadilla had almost no flavor other than the buttery flavor on the tortilla. We were in a fairly large party so it came back with tip already included which was fine but it was the most disappointing $58 meal I've ever had. Maybe it was a fluke or a bad day but I can guarantee the next time I'm in Toledo I will not go anywhere near this place

in toledo , this is the best Mexican place you will find. now if you are from California , texas or Mexico itself obviously nothing will be good enough for you. we come for lunch , quickly seated, food fast, service great. but if you come Friday and Saturday night you will face delays. anyways, i like this place and never had problems. recommend.

I think this place survives on it's reputation. It used to be pretty good, but now... The food is well below average for Toledo. Stacks up poorly to the other "American Mexican" places in town, such as El Vaquero, and doesn't compare at all to the more authentic places like San Marco. The food here is filling and edible, but it used to be better. The margs are good, but not great; they used to be better. Service is hit or miss; it used to be better. I must admit that the patio is still a pretty cool place to hang out. The crowd is good, but guess what...it used to be better.

Used to visit about once a month. This week the food quality has declined and the service was bad, despite the place being next to empty. I just don't have patience for bad service when the establishment isn't busy. Not in a hurry to return.

I've heard great reviews from a lot of people, and I'm very disappointed. When I walked in, the hostesses were on their phones. It took them several moments to realize I was standing there. Once I was seated, the waitress was prompt. After looking through the extensive menu, I decided on beef fajitas. It states on the menu that its $1.50 for chip and salsa refills and they charge for tortillas. It seems they charge for every little thing. When the gentlemen brought my food, the fajitas were not sizzling and the tortillas were carelessly stacked on the the meat in foil. He did not bring any of my toppings (guac, pico, and sour cream) or a plate. The waitress corrected that quickly. The meat was in small chunks, not strips like normal. The amount of food is suprising. It could have fed 3 people easily, and I only ordered for one. The meat however was very tough and tasteless, my friend even said it looked unappealing. Our waitress was good but the food was a huge disappointment. Will not return.

While visiting some friends in Toledo last weekend, this Mexican restaurant was recommended for it's fajitas, so we headed there for dinner. There was no wait when we went on a Saturday evening. We got the double meat chicken fajitas, which was EASILY big enough for 4- NO JOKE! When my friend told me that, I have to admit I was pretty skeptical...especially knowing how much my fiance and I can eat when we are hungry, but this actually took some effort to try and finish! And, who can beat a good dinner like that for around $20 for 4 people?! It wasn't too oily, the meat was cooked right and had a nice flavor. Two big plates of the sides came with the double order, which was a nice addition. The rice was decent, along with the black beans and guacamole. We asked for more shredded lettuce because what we were given was a little skimpy, but there were plenty of corn and flour tortillas to go around! The salsa was pretty good, too! I wouldn't hesitate to return for more fajitas on my next visit to Toledo and recommend you try it out, too!

If you're a Caucasian college student or you're in during the day when it's slow, you're going to feel the most welcome and get the BEST service here... That's all I have to say about that. Well that and on secor there's a GREAT place with Mexican food right across the street from sonic

What the heck is not to love. This is one of my favorite places to slide into when coming to Toledo for a visit. Its always clean and a party atmosphere as soon as the weather breaks. The parking lot is inviting and the sizzling smell of meat on the grill hits once you hit the door. The chicken and shrimp fahita-sans the beef-we ordered, although heavy on the green pepper and onion was good and the margarita is always a nice side. If you ever happen to find yourself on Sylvania and Douglas, theres a mexican fiesta waiting for you there. Enjoy!

My husband and I were just here moments ago. We were quickly seated. We were sat in the back corner. The hostess brought us chips and salsa, that was the last employee we saw. We waited for 15 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. They were not by any means busy and the wait staff was standing around talking or eating themselves. We walked out without eating and took our business to a competitor.

Ok Toledo, this seems to be one of the "hot spots" for Mexican food in the area. I am trying to figure out why though. Here are my observations and then a final conclusion. -The outdoor patio is a great place to relax and socialize when the weather is nice. -The place is usually jam packed. -The food is bland and basic. -I have heard great things about the tableside guacamole. -The food is bland and basic. -The margaritas are fairly strong and seem to be popular. -Did I mention that the food is bland and basic? Final conclusion: Groups of people head out to El Camino to have a drink or two and unwind, visit, etc. After tanking off a few margaritas, most people are bombed and shovel down the food because they are hungry. There is nothing special about many of the dishes. The strategy is to get the patrons liquored up so that they don't realize that they are eating slop that is reminiscent of dry or soggy cardboard, depending on the dish. Other options to consider: San Marcos for tacos Ventura's Cajun chicken nachos

Great authentic mexican food. Fast service inside they have a very nice outdoor bar and patio but we like it indoors. They are aways updating the place making it nicer. I love their frozen margs best around. Food rocks and they are generous servings. We always have to take some home. Especially the fajitas yum! But its all great ..my favorite in Toledo area and I have been to almost all in town. Sometimes its hard to get a close parking spot but that is the worst problem. ..checkem out!!

Either there's not very many great restaurants in Toledo, Ohio...Or there just ain't very many Yelpers..Or both. Went here with my cousins since they have been here a number of times. Natives. From what my cousin told me the white queso that we ordered to eat with the free chips and salsa they provide (always a plus when Mexican Restaurants do this and that's why they get the 3rd star) use to taste better. I got the Chimichanga, which USE TO BE much bigger. The tacos I didn't try, but the chili relleno with beef was yummy. I never order Chili Rellenos, but I did enjoy the sauce they used; therefore that was the best I tried out of everything. The green hot sauce was really scrumptious too! Mix this with your salsa and you got a kick in there! I enjoy my food spicy, add a jalapeno...and that makes all the difference.

Portions are very nice and food can be a hit or miss depending on the day you go. I agree the outdoor patio is awesome when it is nice out and their margs are strong!

Nothing authentic about this place, just your typical Midwestern Mexican restaurant. Reasonable lunch, friendly/quick service. This is a good place to take a large group of people because, like Applebee's or some other boring restaurant, there will be SOMETHING every one can either tolerate or enjoy. My two favorite things on the menu would have to be the chicken chimi or perhaps the fajitas. I'm not bashing this place at all, but there are many better Mexican restaurants to choose from in town.

This place I guess really has gone downhill since it opened. We went there recently with a large group and the experience was bad. My order was wrong in two different ways, and what was on the plate was very lacking in any flavor. The rice was cold, as it always seems to be here, and was almost white, no taste to it. My burrito had good chicken in it, but lacked flavor. The server never got me a refill on my drink, and my plate must have sat in front of me for a half hour after I finished before he removed it. This place started out good, but they've discovered a lot of people come in for the drinks and party atmosphere, so they've apparently decided that is the direction to go in and the food has suffered badly as a result.

I know, I know. Toledo only eats Tex-Mex. This doesn't even qualify as cafeteria food anymore. Once upon a time, El Camino served dishes that could be DISTINGUISHED from one another. Chicken tasted of chicken, beef tasted of beef, and so on. You could close your eyes, chew, and know what you were eating! Perhaps the rumors were true of the cocaine in the queso fresco because we ALL COULDN'T GET ENOUGH! What a difference a few years and a few cranks of the rumor mill makes. I went with a rather large party early on a Saturday evening after a funeral visitation (I know...nothing says "mourning" like Mexican food!) We were all seated and ordered our dinners. They all came out of the kitchen suspiciously quickly...how do you serve 20 people in less than 15 minutes? Everyone had a nearly identical-looking meal...some sort of rolled up tortilla, a side of beans and rice, with lettuce thrown on top. No one raved about anything. "Bland" seemed to be the theme of the meal. I attributed the sub-par meal to being part of such a large party. People have an off day now and again, right? My dad went back a few days later and made a point of ordering nachos. How can you goof up nachos? Chips, cheese, meat, and a few veggies...right? Oh, but El Camino CAN goof up nachos. Bad time. The "margaritas" are strong, but not in a good way. They are pretty bitter and syrupy, and will leave you with a monster migraine after just two. Give me El Tipico on South Avenue any day of the week!

Starting with the hostess/host and ending with the wait staff, the attitude is one of boredom and laziness. This may be the place to go in Toledo but it is terrible in every way including the food. It boasts THE worst guacamole I have ever had! We had both the made at the table 'fresh' guacamole and the pre-made just out of the can slop they put on the dishes. The chips and salsa is terrible too..very bland. Save yourself the disappointment and go to Taco Bell instead! Make

This place is a bar with a restaurant complex, if you're looking for a drink and you don't mind pretentious douche bags mixed with thugs have at it. If you want mexican food then pass unless you like bad service and mounds of cheese covering overcooked beans and rice.

  • Nick M.

I have found that people either love this place, or like me, don't really get the appeal. The Margarita's are not good, but people keep coming back because they have a reputation of being strong. The service is outstanding, however, and meals come out of the kitchen lightning quick. Though once you get your meal, get ready for some GENERIC Mexican food. The white cheese they put all over everything is delicious. Service + white cheese + cool outdoor drinking area = 3 stars.

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is great and the Margaritas are always good. The outdoor patio is great for summertime. Has not been topped in my opinion for mexican food.

    (5)
  • Mo P.

First, the restaurant. This place is very popular and gets very packed, so unless you're going on a weeknight, be prepared to wait a awhile. Waiting isn't a problem if you're getting great food and service in return, however both are a little lacking. I credit the waitstaff with doing the best they can; after all the place can get PACKED. But the food? Meh, it's okay. Bland to average at best. I haven't eaten one thing here that would make me go back for more. But the real reason people go to El Camino is the margaritas, which brings me to my next point... If you want to get stupid drunk off margaritas, you can and will here. Someone mentioned how El Camino's was caught adding Everclear to margs. Well I'm convinced they still do, cuz there's no way you can make margaritas this strong and not taste any tequila AT ALL. They taste like basic margarita mix, which I don't think is such a bad thing, though I do like to be able to taste the liquor in my drinks. I tend to drink fast and a strong taste helps me slow down and pace myself better. These things may as well be Ecto Coolers. Be careful or you'll breeze thru three of them in a half hour. Besides the mediocre food, El Cam gets low marks for one other thing. After being so popular for a number years now, within the past year or so they've decided to start charging their patrons three bucks on the weekends for access to their patio. This irks me for a few reasons. For starters, they only charge men to get in. Sex discrimination like this at bars / clubs is annoying enough. But this is a restaurant patio! They don't even have the mariachi band outside playing! At least then I could convince myself that's where the money is going. Nope, just another way to sponge money off people who live in a city where there aren't many options on other places to go. Ultimately, the cover charge just gives you a disincentive to go there. I'd rather spend my money at their bar on drinks.

    (2)
  • Alex M.

El Camino is great for margaritas and that's about it. They have the most disappointing Mexican food in town. There are so many Mexican places in town and the food here does not stack up to any of them. After multiple trips and several dishes I've yet to have something that wasn't bland. Bland??! Mexican food? These don't go together. Go here for a drink and eat somewhere else... As for the margaritas being illegal or having poison... supposedly a couple of years ago they were busted for buying Everclear in Indiana and putting it in their margs. I think they got a slap on the wrist and that was that or it wasn't true in the first place...

The food here is a sorry excuse for what passes for Mexican food in NW Ohio. As someone who has lived in New Mexico, Texas, and California and has traveled to Mexico many times, I can tell you, really, that the food here is just pathetic. They overcook the chicken and beef in vast quantities and slap it down in whatever you order -- enchilada, taco, burrito: all the same chewy gray matter. I can only imagine that what makes this place so popular is the drinks. Get wasted and everything starts to taste good. The staff have all seemed over-worked and client weary. From the bored teenage hostesses to the waiters that look everywhere but at you when taking an order, there is nothing to recommend the place.

    (2)
  • Steve S.

Great food, but be prepared to wait for it. Once you are seated the service is friendly and fast. The problem is they are so popular that you will wait over an hour on most nights, and sometimes 2 hours on weekends. The food has good flavor and texture, not like the general drown it in sauce and cheese approach of most Toledo area Mexican restaurants. The menu is extensive, so study it well before ordering. Did I mention that the portions are huge!!!

  • Brendan W.

Don't even listen to the previous review. What does that even mean that the place is illegal and the margaritas are illiegal? I'm still searching my brain for what the hell thats supposed to mean. Is that a jab at illegal immigrants. Maybe she's a mormom or another sect of alcohol-hating religulousness. For one thing, they use cuervo gold in their margaritas, so if that's illegal, lock me the f@$k up! Also, for the past 5 or some odd years el camino has been rated number one margarita in the city and probably surrounding area by the city paper. so................that reviewers point is without a sound argument, thus making it crap. not to review another brainless person's review but "serculate"??? "trat"??? obviously a moron with some serious anti-mexican sentiments had to bash a perfectly reputable business thats been in the area for a long long time. This place is great for its food and margaritas, and no I'm not an employee. If you can't handle your liquor, stick to the boons farm and late night taco bell runs sweetie.

I must reiterate what I said in my review of El Camino's Woodville location: Best Mexican food I've ever had. I've only eaten at this location once, but it was still delicious. Not overly spicy, but not bland, either. Reasonable prices and large portions, too.

    (5)
  • Troy M.

It's OK. nothing much else to say. pretty average for a non-authentic Mexican restaurant.

    (3)
  • Jerry R.

For the life of me, I do not understand what people see in this place or it's sister restaurant on Woodville Road on the east side. The food isn't even average. Their chips and salsa are not edible and the margaritas are made from the same crappy, sickening sweet, glow in the dark mix used by most Mexican restaurants in Toledo. I've tried both locations twice - to be fair because every restaurant can have an off night. I will not make that mistake again.

    (1)
  • Erin S.

This place is incredibly overrated. The food is mediocre at best and the place is packed on the weekends because of the strong margaritas (that guarantee a killer hangover). I think the only reason people like this place is because after enough margaritas, anything tastes good!

  • Z R.

What are we reviewing here? Food, atmosphere, good times? C'mon people, let's compare vs. other options as well as expectations. Traditional Mexican cuisine is rare north of the boarder. What we have here in the T-O-L is Tex Mex. As far as Tex-Mex goes, El Camino does it service. However, I am not at El Camino solely for the grubbing. I like my Tex-Mex served with atmosphere and an opportunity to get loose. Margaritas, check. Loud music, check. Abundance of Mexican paintings and photos covering every inch of the walls, double chickity-check. I'm not going to El Camino to critique food (which was ample, and in large portions), or dissect how I am getting drunk. I'm going there for a good time. The service was also good, but again, I am in no rush to leave, when fun, food, friends and fmargaritas (the f is silent) flow like wine. Together with the eclectic clientele (makes for good people watching) and the objective of having fun with booze and food, the El Cam Re exceeds expectations.

They add cilantro to all of the guacamole, so unless you love cilantro, avoid the guac. A fair amount of meat-free selections, a nice patio, a good veggie selection. I would eat here a lot more if I liked cilantro.

One of the best Mexican restaurant in Toledo. I've been here many times with many different people and I think everyone has enjoyed their food. The menus is pretty standard Mexican fare, but unlike most Mexican restaurant there is really flavor here instead of just heaps of melted cheese everywhere. The chips and salsa are great, the salsa is extremely thin and has great flavor (slightly below medium heat). So if your really into chunky then this stuff isn't going to be for you. I highly recommend that if you're getting a dish that has shredded chicken that you substitute for the grilled chicken (not that the shredded is bad), the grilled chicken is fantastic. The margaritas are stiff and quite enjoyable. Service is always extremely prompt. You can get in and out in less than an hour if you really want too as the food generally comes out in less than 15 mins and piping hot. There is also a location on the east side on woodville road.

It's hard for me to enjoy the variety of foods offered at this location because the first thing I ever ordered was the beef taquitos. These little rolls are delicious and I haven't been able to order anything else whenever I walk in. I don't need one order, I need 2. But the quality of this restaurant cannot be denied, they regularly fill their own private lot, the Fifth Third Bank next door and a large portion of the adjacent parking mall. They have entertainment, a bar in the basement and an overall high energy atmosphere. When its warm, the outdoor patio is nice.

A fun place to go and drink on the patio but gets very full. As far as the food I'm never really that happy. Everything seems to come out and taste the same. Kind of boring. The other people I go with always seem to like it more than me. So maybe it's just me.

Definitely gone downhill in the last couple of years. Portions have shrunk, prices have inflated. Food quality has dropped off significantly. I've had better Mexican food from Banquet. Service is atrocious. We sat for extended periods of time waiting for our wait staff to return so we could ask for more drinks. then getting our checks took almost 40 mins. While there was a wait at the door. Our table could have been turned twice with competent serv8ce. Instead 3 hours, 1 check, and one tip reflective of our experience. With so many new Mexican restaurants opening in NW Ohio, I suggest patronizing an establishment that makes an obvious attempt at creating a good dining experience. My favorites: El Nuevo Vallarta Te-ke-la

Sitting on patio at 3:00 on a Tuesday afternoon and service is super slow. 2 nod round of drinks ordered and bartender got one of the drinks wrong (only 2 drinks were ordered). Bartender also blew his nose and didn't wash his hands afterwards(gross) not happy with my experience today!

I recently visited El Camino for an event in which there were 11 people in our party. This was not my first time at this location. Call ahead seating was utilized in this situation, so we made sure to get there a few minutes early to ensure no problems. The hostess was aware of our party and took a few minutes to get our table set up. We had one waiter who did a great job with attentiveness to our needs. The food was great and nearly everyone had leftovers. For our party, they added gratuity automatically. I feel this is unfortunate as most of us would have tipped more than what was added. I gave him a little more for his fun personality and great service. If I'm in the area and in the mood for Mexican, I'll definitely be picking El Camino.

It took forever for the server to take our order. After 45 minutes of waiting, we finally ordered our food. When our server returned with our food, he was chewing food. I'm not usually picky about Mexican food, but this food tasted like an authentic Mexican frozen dinner. I ordered enchiladas and they were a mess. The tortillas were soggy instead of fried and crisp. The meat inside was bland- it was clear that the cook used absolutely no seasoning. After picking at the enchilada mess, we waited another 45 minutes for our waiter to return with the check. I find it hard to believe that a place that has such terrible service and food gets so busy. There are plenty of fantastic Mexican restaurants in Toledo. I will not be returning.

I used to love this place. I'd actually swear by it. Maybe I was drinking too many of the Margs at the time, or maybe the food has gotten worse. The margs are great! The food is hit or miss, always a little different every time we go. I get the same thing every time. Last night the salsa had a chemical flavor. This has happened inn the past and I dismissed it, but last night it was very bad. Actually made me feel sick. Good thing I stopped eating. Service was sub-par (not always this way) and they weren't even busy. It will be a long time before I go back, if ever. Sad, because I was a fan of this place.

Not the most authentic Mexican food. If you have never had the real thing than this would be good to you. This place rocks in the middle of the week. The drinks are OK, but if you do not specify what Tequila you want they will use El Toro. Great place for meeting on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Mariachi Band was fun and they travel from table to table. My single friends tell me this is a great pic up place.

I've been to El Camino a few times. They serve good mexican food, not amazing, but good. It's popularity is more related to the patio and the party. Nothing wrong with that, but after you deal with the always crazier than needed parking lot, and wait for a table, I want awesome food and service, not just good. I'd eat here again, but I wouldn't go out of my way or wait a long time for a table.

Location, location, location. That has to be the ONLY reason for this place to be so busy. The food is mediocre tex mex at best and the beer choices are redonk. Now, on to another reason I think people go there; the margies. Everyone knows the rumor that they don't use tequila and actually use everclear. Well, I don't know what they use, but I do know it tastes like medicine that has been filtered through a gym sock that has been in the attic for a few years. On the very rare occasion I am forced to go there (because of the patio) I get a Corona and slap on my perma-grin to trudge through until we can venture off somewhere else. One time I ordered just a glass of ice with a shot or two of Patron. I figured I would sip on that with a few lime slices. What they gave me was not Patron and that is the last time I tried to order tequila there. This place could be something else if they would start using quality products and stepped up the service. Basically change everything.

This place is not as good as it used to be. After being away from Toledo for a while, I decided to give this place a try as it used to be a favorite. I'll keep the review short by saying that I think their food is a little bland. The fajitas were a good portion but the chicken itself was not very flavorful. The fried ice cream was not fried. The salsa lacked seasoning. I'm not saying anything was bad. Just lacking flavor. Maybe they're trying to please too many palates. I fear they are pleasing none. I'll come back for the patio when it's warmer.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque.
