Can't write an unbiased review as I'm a former employee, but I've frequented here as a customer many times before and after being employed. Most full-time employees have been there for years and years and are pretty knowledgeable about the products and their usage. For this reason, your best bet is to go in weekdays before 5 as you'll run into these employees as opposed to the skeleton shift high school kids during nights&weekends. They offer a variety of art (and craft) classes and different promotional events on weekends such as scrapbook events, jewelry making 'make and take', and a bunch of other demos. They sell most all crafting supplies you would need, plus a lot of dollar store junk. The have a large floral area and 3 or 4 designers to create whatever your little heart desires. The Strongsville location has a nice, large, clean art department with good quality products (as well as more cost-efficient options for beginners). Framing is cheaper than the competitors and they have really great folk working back there. They'll walk you through all your choices and are super helpful. Even though it is a chain of stores, most of the Catan family resides in Strongsville, which is where their corporate headquarters office is located. The whole family is involved in the company and one Grandson manages this store. You can really get a family vibe when going into this store (this location, particularly) even though yes, it is kinda a big box craft store. I almost always find whatever I need there for whatever project I'm working on. 4 stars cause their company 'Darice' sells to Wal-mart.

I have not been here since 2002 and at that point Pat Catan's Wedding Center was next to/ connected to the regular store. I loved both places and bought all my wedding things (gown, tiara, veils, etc...) from them. Customer service at both places were wonderful and the place was always clean and neat. I try to go back whenever I'm in the area!

This is a pretty sprawling craft store. I was in there for maybe an hour and a half, but I restrained myself and only spent $4 somehow which is unheard of at any other store. I bought a wooden letter Z, some supremely discounted beads (.50 a pack) and some handwarmers. They have a ginormous section of Christmas trees and Christmas decorations, but as for actually crafts that I do myself, not so much. I didn't find any Print Gocco stuff. Actually, I did not see any silkscreening supplies, so maybe I missed that area. Give me a JoAnn Fabrics or a Pearl Art Supply any day and I'm happy. This place may have just been too big.

I am all new to crafting, but thanks to Pinterest and my new mommyhood I am giving it a whirl. In the middle of suburban Northeast Ohio for the holidays, I have some time on my hands and the thought of watching Christmas movies while doing some crafts as the snow falls outside sounded positively quaint and delightful. Bald One and Bald One's brother accompanied Baby D and me to this giant crafting and art supply paradise. I rushed and dodged around the aisles like I was walking in Times Square the week before Christmas. I think I was walking about 3 times the speed of all the other ladies in the store. But it paid off - I was in and out with enough stuff for my easy crafts in a matter of 15 minutes and Baby D was still happy as a clam waving to folks in the store. Can't wait to try out these new projects!

Now, here is a store I could spend hours in. I am in love with the art supplies room and I can never leave without buying something. Which is very dangerous for a serious shopper like me. When I was taking art classes at Tri-c, our teacher sent us here with a list of everything we would need. Since she does this often, the employees knew exactly what I was looking for and where to find it which helped tremendously! The staff here is so friendly and knowledgeable about this giant store. They really keep it organized so it's easy to shop around. The prices here are moderate. Not as cheap as some of the other hobby stores I've been to, but the quality is phenomenal. I have yet to see a sketchbook ring binding break or a paint brush lose its hair. They carry the best of the best. Pat Catans is definitely where I go for all of my artsy needs!

The best place for craft supplies and more. Always busy.
