I gave this restaurant 1 star because 1) my waiter was completely rude from the start he couldn't understand what we wanted. 2) he gave us the wrong information at margarita night saying we could only have two per person. Then I talked to the bartender to make sure I was getting the correct info he said they were only serving to per person at first and we could order more after we had finished our first Two 3) I called the restaurant after I had left and asked to talk to the manager. When I talked to the manager he was completely rude to me. Wouldn't let me finished talking and he kept interrupting me. He talked to me like I was child. I am 22 and a manager at another restaurant. I have never talked to or treated a customer like I was treated tonight. He told me I don't have to come back there again. I know that is never what you need to say to a customer. My entire experience there was awful. Horrible staff a rude manager , needless to say I will not be going back there. Regardless of what the manager said to me.

Sometimes, it pays to go in to a place without looking at the reviews. La Pinata is one such place. A co-worker and I ventured off of High Street in search of a lunch place. After my masterful parallel parking in front of La Pinata, we went in for what turned out to be a fairly pleasant surprise. Pros: Ample parking around the area. Ample seating inside the restaurant. Very cheap food (less than $7 for a plate of Arroz con Pollo). Cheap seafood ($5 +tax for shrimp and fish tacos). Huge menu Freshly made salsa with chips (free, of course) Cons: Not gourmet for sure. Service can be slow due to staffing issues, though it was fast on our visit. All in all, don't come in here expecting Tex-Mex on the level of Nada. Instead, La Pinata is on par with most Tex-Mex places. But altogether, I think this restaurant definitely deserves to be much higher than the 1.5 stars it receives so far.

Nearly every time I have gone here the service is extremely slow, the servers are rude, and the food is gross. I went here for a friends birthday dinner, they were out of pitchers for margaritas which is always a bad sign. It took an hour to get our food, the glasses of water we had to keep asking for came out after the food. My friend had to wait 20 minutes extra for a quesadilla. She politely asked our waiter three separate times about her meal. He would get an annoyed look on his face, ask "wait, what did you have again?", and storm back to the kitchen. I don't find that going to La Piñata is worth the time or money.

I came here with my friends, all of us wanting something with cheese -hence Mexican restaurant- and none of our quesadillas had a bit of cheese on them. The server was also absolutely rude and rushing for no reason. She rushed us to order & then we had to wait for over 30 minutes before being served. I will say the one manager was nice but they didn't offered anything to apologize. When he was talking to us at our table, our server rudely came up to us and sassily said 'if you have something to say to me you can say it to my face.' Excuse me miss but you're being rude and I don't care to tell you to your face, that's why there's a manager. I will not be going back, the service was rude and the food was sub par.

I've been getting food from La Pinata for years. However, today, I found myself picking through by far the worst, nastiest chicken fajitas I've ever had in my life. I had requested to hold the tomatos, as well as the onions and to add some jalapenos to the mix. I had also asked for them to hold the sides of pico de gallo and guacamole. This was a meal I had been looking forward to. What I received was nothing like what I had anticipated. In the place of my order I was given a platter consisting of carelessly chopped thick chunks of chicken and green bell peppers wading in a pool of water. Of course as poor as this was, it was not without including the tomatoes and onions I had specifically asked to be left out. Personally, when I have a hankering for a good portion of fajitas, I enjoy an assortment of peppers. I found this offering of green bell peppers and green bell peppers only to be nothing more than cheap, and cheap at my expense. I had also been stuck with generous dollops of the other two items I did not desire as they melded together with my rice and beans. Not an ounce of this was grilled and, to no surprise by this point, there were no jalapenos to be found. In short, I had dished out an estimated, hefty fifteen dollars for this mess of an entree including chicken, peppers, rice and beans only to be disappointed with their immense failure or rather, their lack of conscience. Keep up the good work, guys.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Oxford. They have great deals on lunch and dinner if you look on the back of your Kroger receipts. The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me, and the food has always been consistent. Plus, they have great drink specials, like $1 margaritas on Tuesdays. Can't be beat!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
