Their food is always very fresh. Haven't had a bad dish yet. Not a fan of their egg rolls. They have the healthiest menu choices in the area that actually have great flavor - seafood noodle soup and steamed chicken and broccoli are outstanding. Service can be hit or miss, just depends on who's waiting that day. Portion sizes are good, especially for the price.

Im being nice by putting 3 stars really... Years ago this was my go to! the best generals chicken, YUMMY! and there sweet and sour sauce I'm thinking really home made! never had anything better! But times goes by.... and by... and by... the place is going to hell! I loved the one beautiful friendly Asian woman that knew what I always ordered, I came in almost weekly. My 1st Asian food in general was eating my brother in laws leftovers from here and it was always generals chicken and I couldn't get enough. Time has really changed. I understand years back they had a horrible tragedy hit there family and business. Everyone in the community was saddened by it, broke everyones heart. But after they reopened things where great, food wise. But know its really hit r miss... 5 years ago I would've given them 5 stars and said how amazing everything is. My daughter got orange chicken that tasted as if the sauce was scorched, when 2 visits ago her friend got the same and it was pretty darn good. The last 2 times my parents have been there their food wasn't as good as it used to be they said. My husband has only been there a few times that we've went and he had one good out of three... I really don't like how the egg rolls have a cinnamon taste almost to them, I lived in Hawaii and went to culinary school... egg rolls don't taste that way. I feel horrible saying anything bad about this place because I grew up loving this food. but darn you guys! you need to step it up and do what you used to do! Do that and you will be the best of the best again in a small town area! I am dedicated and have never went to that other place next to family video but if things don't go back to normal I might have to test them out. Really give them a try, it's a loving family owned business and they need everything they can get But darn you China Garden! step back up to where you were! It was never hit or miss in the past! When it's questionable you will loose customers! The key to a good restaurant is the dishes are ALWAYS the SAME as last time!

I really want to love this restaurant. I want it to be good; but unfortunately it misses the mark. I understand cost effectiveness with having all the chicken dishes have the same chicken, but I am just disappointed. Tried three different chicken entrees in one night to do a comparison. General, spicy orange, and sweet and sour. All had the same exact chicken just with different sauces. I got the order to go and I also understand the "not fresh out of the kitchen" quality. All the chicken 15 minutes after picking up, while picking up earlier than estimated, were gelatinous. All the chicken sticking together and mushy. The chicken itself was good tasting, but the coating was obliterated. Then come the sauces. The only one with flavor was, surprise to me, the sweet and sour. The other two sauces were nearly identical; both also tasted burnt or overcooked. Please work on QC!!! I really want to like you.

Chinese food in Ottawa, Ohio? If you're looking for an option in the area that isn't pizza, your local American fare restaurants, or fast food; China Garden is a good pick. It's had some staying power in the area. Admittedly, Chinese food is my least favorite fare, so my ordering at a place like this tends to be on the safe side. Their lunch menu seems to consist of breaded chicken pieces in a variety of sauces-but for $6.15 you can get a soup, plate of chicken and rice and an egg roll; not bad in my book. They will also make dishes without MSG upon request, which is what makes this Chinese food doable for me. Service is great-friendly, attentive. They also have quite a bit of seating space. The next time you natives come home, check it out (because we all know, you're not coming to Ottawa for the Chinese). It is a good place to meet those high school friends for a quiet lunch to catch up.

3/17, ordered food 20 minutes before dining in. My friend and I waited another 15 minutes before they brought our food out. Food is good, just get on top of your orders fam.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
