Love love love this place. Literally the only establishment in Oberlin that has servers that actually do their job well & are genuinely likable people. Plus the food is generally excellent. I usually order a BLT with a side salad and then have instant regret for not getting the homemade potato chips. I also recommend the pancakes.

We had high expectation based on the yelp reviews but were deeply disappointed. We showed up on a Sunday for lunch, ordered corn beef sandwich, which was too salty and the lightly grilled rye bread was greasy; cinnamon pancake was huge and filled with cinnimon, it was the best item we ordered, though it was not exceptional; the egg bennedit came with salty ham and a strange aftertaste, probably from too much baking soda in the English muffin; the side bacon was thin and greasy with little flavor. The young lady who took our order was disinterested and didn't want to be bothered with us. The only real positive is that the restaurant was bright and clean.

We had breakfast here this morning and it was excellent. I'm adding my review because I see no one has mentioned that these people know how to prepare eggs. I had an omelette that was perfectly prepared and my partner had eggs over easy also perfectly prepared. In my experience this is not an easy thing to find the right balance of doneness - not over dry and not greasy. The decaf and the coffee were both very good. May 31-Very nice ladies run this place so I thought for a while before updating my review. This morning the omelette was a little dry and flavorless, potatoes oversalted and the Rye toast not really toasted at all. My partner said his omelette was ok but that the potatoes were terribly over salted. Coffee was still good. This is still a great little breakfast spot in Oberlin- next time we will try the pancakes!

Great home style food. Reasonable price. Great atmosphere. Great service with a smile. Family style dining. Very clean.

Great food, great service, small town diner atmosphere. Add in the fast service, and it's a great place to eat!

As small town diners go, this one is really exceptional. You can get breakfast anytime of the day (during their hours of operation!) but they gave a large selection of sandwiches and salads as well. They have all the diner standards, but since this is a small college town, they have some slightly less typical items, like wraps. The service is attentive, quick, and to the point. It's a nice, clean spot. I generally have their (huge) house salad, but go with friends on a weekly basis and everything looks very good. They have a killer, cinnamon bun pancake. Very tasty but huge! We occasionally get one to share for four, as dessert, so be forewarned. I can't say that I care for their soups very much. They only offer one a day, but the times I've had it, it tastes very "pre fabed"

We were looking for a last minute lunch place when we came across the Main Street Cafe. The service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent. There was 5 of us, each having something different to eat from both the breakfast and lunch menu. We were all happy and full when we left. On a special note our Granddaughter(7)made a friend as soon as we walked in the door. The staff not only took good care of us but checked on her several time as she sat at a different table with her new friend within our eye sight. She felt so grown up. We will be coming back next time we are in Oberlin. Thanks for the great food and service.
