I used to like Bob Evans but the service at this location has changed my mind. The last two times I came here, it was a total disaster. The service absolutely sucked, our orders were wrong & food came out at different times. I always get the wildfire chicken salad & cheddar baked potato soup. Not sure how you can get that wrong or why it would take forever. I had to ask for rolls that typically come with my meal & they gave me one tiny butter. My son's eggs were cold & his bacon never showed up. I had to ask for a manager who acted like I was putting him out by complaining! I basically refused to pay for his meal or I would show my ass! We will never go back!!

Not impressed! I waited for a good 15 minutes before I was seated while I had two children under age of three with me. I had a whole line behind me waiting to be seated. Waitress was not pleasant & seemed very unhappy to be there. I hardly saw her & when I did it was quick and she darted off. Food came in about 15 minutes. It tasted okay, nothing spectacular. I got the garden medley omelet with home fries & the girls got hotcakes. The hotcakes were rubbery and hard to cut. Other than that, place looked semi-clean. Food was peppered underneath my table that was done prior to my arrival. Oh, the silverware was gross & dirty with dried up food chunks caked to it. If you're hungry, skip this place. I'm surprised the health department hasn't shut it down yet. Blah!!

Horrible horrible place. I am a bob Evans lover. But went here yesterday with my boyfriend and son. The place was dead, yet it took 15 minutes for our waiter to introduce himself and take our drink orders. Then another 10 minutes until we asked another waitress if she would take our table instead. That seemed to tick her off. But she re-took our drink orders & our dinner order. Took another 40-45 minutes to get our food. While I could see our food sitting in the window. She said it took so long because of my salad.....? WHAT? So needless to say my son, along with my boyfriends dinner were luke warm. I then didn't see her but one time after that which was 10 minutes after we started eating, which I had to sit and wait so I could have more dressing for my salad. Then took another 5 minutes for my dressing to come back. By that time the rest were done eating. As I finish we waited another 15 minutes to receive our check, which we never did. The manager came to our table to ask us how our dinner was & I explained everything to her. She said she would get our check, apologized, & asked if we needed anything else. I said no just a box. 5 minutes later I get a check with 20% off and NO BOX!! Needless to say I will never be going back there.

Disapointing again. Ordered quart of cole slaw to go, paid for it. 6 minutes later, cashier said 'I can take your order now'. 15 minutes later, i'm finally out the door thanks to a good manager.

Update and wishing there were no stars! First, today's visit was Sunday breakfast. When we got there the place wasn't that busy but it did quickly pack in. 3 tables got up and left, 2 tables called the manager over to complain about how long they waited on their food, and ultimately we got our food an hour after ordering (did I mention we had a toddler with us?!) and we had to complain to the manager too. The coffee was colored water, my moms pancakes needed a steak knife to cut them (I'm Not exaggerating) and my dad's omelet had no cheese. My blueberry pancakes had a lump of berries right in the middle and my eggs were cold. The only thing we complained about were my moms pancakes and they took those off the bill. Then we went to pay and the kid lost the ticket we took up there and called a manager over, meanwhile complaining how he doesn't like it when people add the tip to their bill but don't total it (which is stupid people don't do it--all it takes is some jerk to put a 1,2, etc in front of your $3 tip and then they total it for you because you left it blank), the manager couldn't pull the bill up on the screen and wanted to input the order all over again while the kid was digging thru the trash looking for the missing ticket. Seinfeld couldn't write this stuff! My previous visit was at lunch thru the week, 2 in my party ordered a baked potato and grilled chicken salad and 1 ordered grilled chicken dinner. The waitress brought every single piece of the dinner out at different times taking over an hour for it to trickle in--seriously one of us got a chicken salad and 20 min later my friend got grilled chicken dinner and 10 min later her carrots for the dinner etc. This place is NEVER timely, the food is ill-prepared always and it's just a pisser to go.

Bristle brush hair found in husband's meal, as soon as he received it. they said it was from a new bristle brush used for buttering the toast. Staff ( waitress & mgr.)apologized. Still charged full price, with each of us eating alone (had to wait for his meal to be remade) Home fries not cooked, omelet brown and overcooked. We will not be back unfortunately.

was shocked after it RE-OPENED how poor the service was. Took 5 minutes to be sat...wasnt greeted and when was the lady was so unprofessional...that should have gave us a heads up....then took 35 minutes for food, and the server was so unprofessional. Went to pay and had to wait for someone to ring us out cause no one had a key to the register. We wasted 28.00 on bad service and the food was not all that either. We spoke with a manager who just stood there not having a clue how or what to say. We will not be giving our hard earned money to this store. We will go across town if we want Bob Evans. This store on 21st was horrible all the way around. We sent a detailed email to corporate office and no response back at this time...not suprised in the least.

I should have listened to my gut... this is the 3rd time in a row of COMPLETELY bad service. My son and I ate there tonight because we were given a coupon for a free kids meal. When we walked in the door, we were not greeted. We then stood there for about 7 minuets before the manager asked what we needed. I kindly replied, "a table and some dinner would be nice!" She was so unprofessional I was worried right away. She gave 3 of the 7 servers working, a very dirty look and grunted something as she led us to our table. We were seated at the table for 5 whole minuets before we ordered drinks, which took another 5 minuets to get to our table. My son was having a bit of a hard time ordering so we asked for 2 more minuets which turned into about 7. He ordered breakfast and hot chocolate I ordered a pot roast sandwich and water. Of course it took about 20 minuets to get to the table. Not a single time did the manager ask how we were doing! Our server, when we did get a chance to see her, ran past our table so fast I did not have enough time to even tell her that we needed drink refills, my macaroni was cold, and my texas toast was so soggy, I had to remove it to even eat the sandwich. We then had to ask for our check, and pie. Our server then went and took another mans order, delivered a salad and rolls to other tables! At this point we had been there for a little over an hour and a half and did not want to wait any longer. It took another 5 mins to pay our bill and we were not even asked then how the meal was. This was beyond horrible. I can understand if the place was packed, but my server had 3 tables, and there were maybe 12 tables with guests in the whole place. No wonder this location has such a bad rep. Its worth the extra 10 minuet drive to go to cherry valley road. Trust me!

The food was good on Wednesday October 29th. the service...wow..what can I say, besides it absolutely sacked. we couldn't even get the server to bring a second glass of water. If took forever to place our order. Food came promptly. Then forever to get the server to come back to place a carry out order. I was just calling the store to place the order when she finally showed up again! I have given this store the benefit of the doubt multiple times. Mostly because the food is generally good. No more. Service is just to painful. Don't go....unless you have extra time on your hands.

Since moving back to Ohio in May after 20 years, I was initially pleasantly surprised that one of my local favorites, Bob Evans, had expanded its presence dramatically. I think there were only 2 around town back then. But I soon learned that more isn't always a good thing. For example, there is a Bob Evan's just a mile or 2 down the road in nearby Newark on Cherry Valley Rd. I won't be going back to that store anytime soon. However, the Bob Evan's on 21st Street is just how I remember the restaurant was back in the day. You get seated fast, the service is always very good -- and the food always fresh and delicious. And always at very reasonable prices. I'm sure most reading this have been to Bob Evan's before so I won't blather on about the menu (I usually get one of the big breakfasts anytime of day I happen to visit). I would encourage burger lovers to give one of their offerings a try -- they are outstanding. If this was only a burger joint it would be popular.

Have come to this location many times before, always been on the verge of disappointing. Well today is Christmas eve and all i did was call to check what time i had previously set to pick up a farm house feast. The girl who answered the phone gave her opening sales pitch sounding quite like a dalek from dr who, then after the query was made she turned and complained to a coworker about not having time for this. Then after 4 min finally asks me my name then immediately with no warning puts me on hold. After an eternity later tells me my pickup time and hangs up. It is pretty bad that even though i get BE gift cards regularly from family members they pile up or get given away to friends in other parts of the state. Avoid this bob evans like the plague.
