Went on a Friday night at about 6. We were able to be seated right away. Several different servers were very friendly. Food was of very large proportions and very good. The bread was really good on the Italian Beef sandwich and French bread pizza. Only downside was the beer I wanted was tapped out. Definitely will be back!

Wow! I would have given Milano's 5 stars, but then we got our bill. Food was great, and so was our server Debbie, but when we got the check we were flabbergasted! Almost $8.00 for a salad that came with one small cup of dressing. We asked for another dressing and was charged .59 cents! Our daughter ordered a kids calzone and was charged .50 cents for marinara. Our son ordered the kids corn dogs and fries and asked for a side of honey mustard and again we were charged $0.59! I asked to speak with the manager and Zach came out. I explained to him how disappointed we were with the excess charges on sauces and his comment was well "it clearly states that on the menu". I explained to him that there are several restaurants we go to regularly that do not charge extra for a dressing. And his comment to me was "well those places won't be in business long". What I find ironic is that Milano's only has two and a half stars but the other restaurants I am referring to have at least 4 stars. Guess where we will be going to dinner next........

Pretty decent. My sandwich was good, but not amazing. Lacking flavor. It's a restaurant sports bar feel, so it's not elegant by any means. The waitress and host were extremely friendly and amazing at their jobs! I would try this place again but maybe something else.

I will say that Milano's has definitely grown on me since I've lived in Dayton. We go every few months and the food is better every time. The pizza is still fantastic! My new favorite sub is the Italian sub, grilled with Italian dressing instead of pizza sauce. The only thing I can suggested is to make the bread not so hard at the top, that makes it incredible hard to eat. The calzones are great and super filling. The french bread pizza is another good option, but be warned that you get two huge slices. I love that they serve the food with regular chips, I think it pairs well with pizza and subs. You can upgrade to fries if you want. Drink specials are still good and they have even more beers to choose from. Service is fine and usually better then some of other chains around the area.

Overall, Milanos is decent. The service is passable (never exceptional, but it hasn't been bad either) and everyone always seems to be having a good time. It's very popular with families and sports teams, so it can get pretty busy and have a decent wait time. My biggest complaint is the beer menu -- it is out of date every time! On average, we've had to order three beers before they finally have our choice in stock/on tap. Other that that... Calzones -- very good, but a little inconsistent on the proportions of the cheese fillings. The crust is great. Pizza -- it is the classic Dayton, thin crust, square cut pizza. While I'm not a fan of this style pizza, it is definitely one of the better places I've tried. If you like the typical dayton/Midwest pizza, then I'm sure you'll love this. The meatballs are pretty good. Cheesesteaks -- lacking. We have only tried the cheesesteaks twice but neither time were we impressed. They really seemed to skimp on the meat. This location has a nice outdoor bar area with large tv.

Feels like a chain, but not bad. Great draft beer list, kids loved their meals (pizza, Mac cheese). Wife's Philly Cheese was light on meat, my Asian Chicken Salad was strong B-. We would go back.

Poor service. Waitress vanished after bringing the food. Pizza was great but would have been better if the waitress had stopped by with drink refills. Next problem was waiting to pay the bill. The restaurant was empty so don't know where the waitress kept disappearing to.

In the past, we have had great pizza from this location. Today we decided to try the restaurant. Can't say how the food or beer is because we never got waited on. I made eye contact with a number of servers who were around. The place wasn't busy. As we walked out, I told one of the servers that someone should pay attention to the tables because we never got waited on.

My Bride and I do enjoy going here and can honestly say that I can't recall a "Bad" meal or service. That said... I do have one little teeny-tiny issue with Milano's and the fault may actually lie with me, but here goes. Easter Sunday, my house is full of In-Laws, Out-Laws, and a few strays, somebody gets the bright idea to go fill a few growlers that I keep in the basement. No problems so far. My usually filling station was closed but my daughter recalled seeing a station the last time she was at Milano's. So I said, go for it. Maybe that was my mistake...well, that and giving her my ATM card and my car. Regardless, I got a call describing the various beers available and we selected three and I thought all was well. She got home about 10 minutes later and presented me with a bill for $80+...WHAT??? Checked with the manager and he told me "That's what it is". I mentioned that I did bring in my own growlers and his reply was again, "That's what it is". My goodness, such eloquence. OK, I'm done with Milano's and growler refills. Period. Way too many competitors offering the same brew selection for about 1/2 to 2/3 the cost. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'll go back for pizza, subs, and whatnot. I'm just crossing Milano's off my list for Growler refills...sorry.

Meh.. I've definitely experience better.. I will start with the positive.. Their pizza is VERY good! The atmosphere isn't all that great.. The server we had was pathetic, to say the least. He initially spilled water on my friends droid incredible and capped it off with saying 'oh shit'. Strike 1.. He wasn't polite in general.. Strike 2. For strike 3... When I ordered he had no idea how large the half or large subs actually were... He asked if I wanted onions and peppers... I said sure, assuming it was standard fare and topping. I also asked for some BBQ sauce as the italian beef sandwich lacked ANY sort of flavor. The bill comes and the bbq sauce, .50.. Ok I can live with that, I asked for it, but really??? Onions and Green peppers?? Another $1 each with no mention, making my nasty, tasteless italian beef sandwich $13.. NOT WORTH IT. A charge for 'extra' toppings that normally come on a GOOD italian beef sandwich were stated no where in the menu. Our server was downright horrible. He lacked knowledge and basic customer service skill. I will not be back, nor should you, unless you want to carry out a pizza.

I love the calzones here! The pizza and subs are good, too. I've never had bad service here. It' a good place for Friday happy hour since it's right across the street from work.

I want to give them a better review, but I cannot. I don't eat in here often so I cannot speak to their eat in service. However their take out service fails so regularly its more common to have something left out, overcooked, or otherwise wrong that more often than not we have a credit when we eat there. If the food wasn't so good when they get it right it would not be worth it.

I am a meatball lover, a connoisseur if you will and I really do love Milano's meatballs. I sometimes just get a couple of sides of meatballs for carryout (which comes with their very yummy tomato sauce and is an absolute steal at $1.50 for 3 balls) and take them home and make my own noodles (unfortunately they don't "do" noodles well in the restaurant, they are always way overcooked and the water under salted). Their Garlic Cheese Bread is yummy, as are their pizzas (by no means my favorite pie, but in Dayton they are up there), my husband loves their calzones and occasionally I will get a meatball sub (btw- unless you are Michael Phelps- get a half sub- they are HUGE), but lately if I want a meatball sub for home I will get an order of their Garlic Cheese Bread and a side of meatballs and make it at home so it doesn't get soggy. As for ambiance, the inside is super kid friendly and their is a really nice inside/outside bar area for the nights when we are kid-free (few and far between- believe me!).

Better bar than most sub places. Reminded me more of a BW3's then anything else. Not crowded...But it was a Tuesday night after a holiday so I guess it is okay. descent beer selection.

So disappointing. We've always loved the Milano's on Brown St. (regardless of the rude staff) and we were so excited that they were opening a restaurant in Springboro. We've been about 6 times, always wanting to give them 1 more chance. The subs we've gotten have been pretty awful....fatty chicken, forgetting ingredients or adding ingredients that we asked them not to put on the sub, subs cold when they're supposed to be hot, soaking wet bread......really horrible salad with old lettuce and little else.....very stale potato chips. The wait staff is mediocre (I'm being generous), the prices are decent. I think we're done with this Milano's.

While I've usually been very impressed with Ohioans in the service industry when I have visited, I think this was the BEST SERVICE I have ever had at any restaurant where I did not have a previous acquaintance working there already. We had seven people in our party, and everybody was very satisfied. While I can't say that the food had the most personality, the portions were extremely generous for the price. Our server, Joe, took all our orders in a most polite fashion and read it all back so we knew he had it right. When our food started arriving, I asked for an extra plate to split the orders my wife and I had, and it arrived very quickly. When Joe came out to check on us right afterward, he pointed out that the kitchen would have been happy to split the orders for us. He kept the adult beverages coming and also made a point of checking the kids' covered cups in case they needed more (which I have NEVER seen before). The kids meals included a bowl of vanilla ice cream, but it was two HUGE scoops, and they were offered their choice of chocolate or strawberry syrup to pour on top. My mother in-law asked for some lids for the crayon cups to take them home, and we got extra cups at the end of the meal as well. I do look forward to returning on our next trip to Ohio.

It's average food for me, but it's made up for with the great service and atmosphere. I can't say I've been impressed with anything I've ordered. It's a safe bet though for a quick lunch with decent subs, pizzas, and salads to choose from.

Just ok for me...yet I keep giving them chances! The food can be very good (usually a sub), but more often then not I am left wanting more. When I say "more", I am referring to quality, not quantity. Salads are a very weak and most food is barely seasoned. Service is ok and usually gets me on my way in under an hour during lunch rush. Better options within 5 minutes drive of this location.

We were so excited when Milano's opened down the street, and they have a patio!! Food is so much tastier when it can be enjoyed in the open air and sun! Well, that is until the occasional cigarette smokers ruins my "eating mantra - I'm still unsure if sitting on a patio falls under the "no smoking ban" in Ohio. They also have heaters above several tables for those chilly nights (and they feel really nice!) I'm an old school "stromboli" fan. I know, I know, they are very similar to calzones, but when you order a stromboli, they know you mean business (they aren't on the menu, but they used to be at the Milano's on Brown Street in Dayton back in the day). The pizza is super delish as well, and my husband swears by the "Baked Italian." I tried the Philly Cheesesteak once, but wasn't thrilled with it (compared to Penn Station, it's awful). I occasionally get the Beer Battered Fish and Chips, and it is quite yummy (I used to get my fish and chips at the Thirsty Dog, but because they closed -darn them!! - I just can't get decent fish ANYWHERE.) The prices are ultra reasonable, they have several beers on tap (they always have the Sam Adams that is in "season." There are several appetizers to choose from, but the baked Artichoke Spinach Dip with toast is freaking awesome!! The wait staff checks on you frequently, and many times will bring another beer BEFORE your glass is empty (and my husband considers that of uber importance). They are friendly, fast, and very apologetic if your food happens to be wrong, or if the kitchen is taking forever to make it. We recently had an issue where my stromboli had onions (ick), so the waitress apologized and took it back, and also took it off the bill. "Okay, I can dig it" I thought to myself, while my husband knoshed on his sandwich (which I thought was rude - I mean, what kind of animal eats when his wife's food isn't there yet? My husband, that's who.) I decided to tell our waitress to go ahead and put in our order for carry out (for my son at home - it was "date night"). So, we waited, and waited, and he finished his beer, and I finished my tea, and FINALLY they came out and said "we are really sorry, but none of the strombolis are done...BUT, your meal is free, except for the beer, and here are some gift certificates to use in the future." I was hungry, but happy that we had saved a bit of money, plus had $20 in gift certificates to use in the future. And yes, when I got home, I enjoyed my free stromboli. Now, the previous situation is rare, and usually our dining experience is nothing but pleasurable and tasty. The only thing I hate about Milano's is how fast the inside fills up with screaming children. If we decide to eat inside (which is super rare), I have a raging headache when we leave because kids are running to play the games in the back, and it seems like all the local SAY soccer teams choose that restaurant to have their banquets. My advice? Wait until weather permits you to sit outside (and sit outside under the heaters if it's chilly). Give the wait staff a nod, and order a stromboli. They'll know you're a hardcore Milano's customer. You'll have a great meal!

I'm by no means a submarine expert, but Milano's has one of the best subs I've ever had. It seems that everything is made freshly from scratch - the bread is baked daily, the vegetables are fresh, the meats are marinated before grilled... even the noodles in the chicken noodle soup seems homemade! The service is efficient and the staff really friendly. This location has a huge covered deck for outside seating. I wouldn't have expected anything great from Dayton but Milano's is certainly a great local restaurant.
