Warning: Being a native of the 'Burg, this review is highly biased. ^_^ Burgers (or sliders) "with everything" are kept simple, pure and delicious with one slice of onion, pickle, salt and pepper. Patties are fried and slightly crispy. Condiments and cheese would be criminal, so don't bother asking. The Wagon is a Miamisburg city tradition above all else. If you get the chance, stop by for a bite to see what it's all about! I can honestly say that I have not come back home without stopping for two (or five) burgers. Good luck making the drive home with all of them still in your bag.

I was a bit hesitant during my first visit to Hamburger Wagon, considering the only toppings available were pickles, onions, and salt & pepper. But once I got those tiny burgers (I'd call them sliders since they're smaller than your usual burger but three filled me up), I was in complete heaven. Since I felt like I was absolutely starving during my first visit, I thought I'd come back and try them out when I wasn't so desperate for food. Second time in, and I was still hooked. They're the perfect combination of crunchy, savory, and perfection! Definitely a go-to place if I'm in the Miamisburg area!!

Rude! Long wait. No condiments. It's deep fried low quality beef with mystery filler. This is one of those places that's a tradition just because its a tradition.

These are very yummy burgers....I love a good burger and typically prefer medium rare to rare burgers but these hand formed little burgers with only onions, pickles, salt and pepper are very tasty. I am from Kettering and had heard about the Hamburger Wagon but never had any until recently....now I want them when ever I visit.

Childhood memories. Truly the real reason most people come to this place. I grew up in the 'Burg and every time I return I make sure to visit. Sometimes I even make my relatives who still live in the area bring them for me. It's a little family owned wagon that sells burgers. They also have chips. But I've never tried anything but the burgers. Is it the best burger you'll ever have? No. Is it really even a real burger? Not really. But there is something about that fatty grease the patty is fried in, the combo of just salt, pepper, onion and pickle that seems to hit the spot. Don't come here with any expectations. It's an experience. I don't go to Chipotle for authentic Mexican Food. I don't go to Papa John's for the best pizza. I go there because I like the taste of the food. That's what you'll get here. Either you love it or you don't. But at least you can say you've tried it!

If you like those crispy edged burgers with salt pepper onion and pickle, these are for you. You either love these or hate these and I love these. But the onions do stay with you for some time. This is a landmark tradition and a must have when in Miamisburg.

Was this the best burger I have ever had? No. Was it a good burger? Sort of. Was it worth visiting? You bet! OK, I was told that this burger wagon dates to the "great flood" that hit the area in 1913 and was a "must eat" in the area. They hand form little burgers (single $1.10; double $2.10) and they come with nothing but onions, pickle, and salt and pepper on a small white castle sized bun in a bag. No toppings, no mini wrapper... just a bag of burgers. The burgers are cooked in a large pan in oil and the guy cooking it presses the burgers down with a spatula like you would at home. People were ordering them 10 at a time and told me that they get em home and dump whatever sauce they want on them. Now, I had mine they way they made them and they were good if a bit salty and very greasy. Since there are miles of bike trails that like this whole river system my friend suggested that the burgers are a great bike-ride-day treat. I enjoyed mine, the story about the flood and the little wagon of burgers that saved the day.

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm I can't eat enough of these little burgers when I go to the wagon! The wait is usually long, but worth it. There are no condiments, but you don't need any. Crunchy burger. Fresh buns. Onion and Pickle. Salt and Pep. That's all you need!!!!

It is a wagon outdoors that sells mini hamburgers. Yes! We went there on a cold day in late fall and were greeted by a nice family who was working on the wagon, preparing the mini burgers with onion on them. They are delicious and wonderful. And its in a wagon.

I had heard that these burgers were to die for. I was nearby one day and had to stop in for some. I was looking forward to experiencing these burgers. I was very let down. They were dry and not very tasteful. The burgers are only $1.25 and that's because they are more like sliders than real-size burgers. The burgers are also fried instead of broiled. I was shocked when the "cook" laid the buns on the filthy counter instead of on a plate, napkin, etc. The cart where the burgers are cooked is in big need of a cleaning, there is grease everywhere. The cart looks very filthy and needs to be updated and cleaned/sanitized. I can't believe people rave about these burgers, they must have never had a real tasty and juicy burger. I won't eat there again, it was a major disappointment.

After living in this area for 20 years I have finally had a Hamburger wagon Burger. Tasty, crunchy and salty. Looks like they were fried up in their own oil, which is fine by me. I ordered a bag, stopped by the family-owned Halal meat grocery store across from the Dayton Mall for an apple and some fruit chunk filled juice. Made a very good balanced lunch.

If I was creating a list of things that I wanted to eat before I die, a burger from the hamburger wagon would be on my list. I was born in Miamisburg, but moved away when I was a 10 or 11 years old. When I go back to visit relatives, this is the first place I go. Sorry Grandma. In my family, we call it the Porter Hamburger Wagon. One of my uncle's (Porter) family opened this place up years and years ago. They sold it years and years ago. We still call it Porter Hamburger Wagon. Its a family thing. For those that aren't from Miamisburg, it is literally a wagon (no seating, all take out). It sits out next to the town square. People start lining up. It is an institution. The wagon has two people in it. One guy does the burger cooking. The other guy takes orders and prepares the buns, pickles, etc. It is cramped. That stove is throwing off some serious heat. Lard popping all over the place. These guys suffer for their art. The ordering process is reminiscent of the soup nazi experience. You need to know what you are ordering. They sell burgers. They've recently diversified into potato chips and drinks (out of a cooler), but they sell burgers. You have two choices - single or double. It comes with salt/pepper, onion, and 2 pickles. That's it. No ketchup or mustard. No mayo. That would be considered blasphemy. Don't even ask. These burgers are so good because they are fried in lard. They have a crunch to the outside of them - flour mixed in with the meat. My inside source told me there is also some sausage meat in there too for a bit of flavor. Not sure if that's true, but I don't care. They taste so darn good. I go for 2 doubles. I'm sure these burgers aren't good for you, but it doesn't matter. You want one. Take the calorie and cholesterol hit. Go for a run later.

I just can't get enough! A 'burg original, staple, and tradition. Grab a bag full of burgers, some delicious kettle style chips, and a soda or water and walk yourself to the nearest park bench or to look out over the river just a block away. What a perfect afternoon!

I don't like pickles; I don't like onions; and I don't like burgers without cheese....but I loved these little burgers!!! We decided to try this place on an impromptu tour of downtown Miamisburg longstanding restaurants and I fully anticipated that any hype we had heard about this place was simply nostalgia and there was no way the burgers were that good. I mean, c'mon, the pictures and venue don't exactly look stellar. Then when we got there and read their sign, "No stinkin' cheese or sloppy sauces", my only thought was "Nope. No way. Not the place for me." We stuck with it, though, and decided if we were going to try it, might as well go all the way and get the original. Well I'm glad we did because, surprise surprise (seriously), we loved 'em! Now granted, we loved them for what they are -- crispy little burgers that are great on a summer afternoon that hit the binge spot, not because they're gourmet burgers that we'd pay any more than $1.50 for. Also, cash only and expect a wait!

This cash only hamburger joint totally rocks. Burgers are so good. I was skeptical to easy them with out condiments, but wow! They are so full of flavor. Be prepared to wait for these little slider-like burgers. There can be quite a line on some days. Make this a must stop on your thing to do/places to eat in the Dayton area.

Awesome burgers with an awesome history behind them. I make sure to get some every time I visit Ohio.

Great little burgers! Hate the long lines but worth the wait! You do get a lot of raw onions on the burger so if you order more than one I would ask for no onions on the other. Wish the actual burger patty was a bit bigger!

This is truly a treasure in the heart of Miamisburg. It's literally a wagon on wheels in the downtown square. Don't expect your typically fast good burger; here the burgers are kept simple with just pickle, onion, salt, and pepper -- and that's all they need. Such a unique taste. I absolutely have to stop anytime I'm close to the area. Delicious!

The burgers aren't bad for the price but I'd be willing to pay a little more for larger hamburger patties and condiments. I'd also be willing to give more stars.
