Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Loved it! Food delicious & with generous portions. Good friendly service. Cute brick exterior, nice booths inside. This is a proper sit down restaurant, with a pleasant atmosphere.

Great mexican lunches!!! Love the guys who sing to us too! :)

Having just moved from SoCal, we've been looking for great Mexican food. An uphill battle in the Toledo area, granted, but I've found my new favorite so far. While the name is super cheesy and the exterior leaves a lot to be desired, we were driving by and decided to give it a chance. So glad we did. The beans are wonderful and wonderfully lard (aka manteca in Spanish) free. All the food was flavorful and delivered super quick. Our waiter was really nice and everyone there spoke Spanish (which isn't always an indicator that it's going to be good but the nastiest "Mexican" food I've had has always been served by white people). The decor was really cute--although this seems to be a chain, it didn't seem like it. The only thing I didn't like (and so many Mexican restaurants do this--why? why?) is lump the vegetarian food into combo's (ie. Combo #1 is one chalupa, one quesidilla and one burrito, etc). I don't know why restaurants do this and most never offer substitutions, so if you don't like one thing in the combo you're f'ed. Overall, a great place!

Love this place... The only restaurant I ask Miguel (our favorite waiter) to surprise me with something off the menu. They treat you like family, the food is awesome & try the fajita with bacon, peppers, chicken, & steak...it's great.

Mexican is one of my favorites. The food here is among the best I've ever had. (Have been to Mexico, eaten in Hispanic homes, etc.)

I stopped here for dinner while traveling with my husband and three-year-old and we had a great experience. From the time we walked in to the time we left, the service was incredibly friendly and fast. The host greeted my child directly, which is rare. The busboy was very understanding as he cleaned up the spilled salsa from my son, the waiter was attentive and comfortable, another waiter played peek-a-boo with my son after we ate, and I heard other guests talking and laughing with their waitstaff as we walked out. The food was very fresh and flavorful. Our chips were being placed on the table as we were sitting down, and the dinner came piping hot within just a few minutes of ordering. I had the fish tacos and the sauce, which was on the side so I could apply the preferred amount, was light and tasty. The children's meal was an incredible amount of food for $4. They had a very extensive menu that I would like to explore more of if we lived in the area. The only negative comment that I can make is that I didn't have anyone offer to refill my drink. Though I will admit, the food came so fast and we were eating rather quickly with a child at the table, so there wasn't a lot of time to offer it to me. The waiter did come by to do a general check, but by the time I noticed my glass was empty it was at the end and too late to ask. We really enjoyed the service and the food, would recommend it.

I love this Mexican place. The staff is super friendly and the food is great. Prices are cheap too!

This place rocks!! I love to eat here there cheese dip is off the charts good just like their super burrito. Me and my family go here at least once a month and it's a pleasure every time we visit.

This Tex-Mex joint is above the cut. I had the Chori-pollo, which was chicken breast smothered in cheese and topped with chorizo, served with rice and beans. Awesome flavor, although I'm now in the hospital waiting to receive a triple-bypass. Only kidding. Good food though, and we caught it on a night with $2.50 23oz drafts of Dos Equis. Hit up La Fiesta if for whatever reason you find yourself staying at the Hampton Inn of Maumee, Ohio.

I recently ate here and the service was GREAT right when we say down servers brought chips and salsa and asked for our drinks. We had a perfect amount of time to order too. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and it was perfect-nothing was wrong. I recommend this place for anyone!

In and out in 15 minutes. Very fast and attentive service food is so so. The chips and Salsa rocked.

Our waiter was from Mexico City. Good sign. Generous margaritas. Really enjoyed the shrimp ceviche and shrimp taco lunch specials. Not much to look at inside or out but the food seems solid.

Meh. I had a pleasant enough experience but La Fiesta is certainly not an authentic Mexican restaurant and doesn't even do the Tex-Mex thing all that well. Chains like Uncle Julio's, Abuelo's, and On The Border do a better job (which isn't saying much). The food is inexpensive, the servings ample, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The beers were cheap, which was nice, and while the bartender made me a "custom" margarita with decent liquors (Hornitos Blaco & Cointreau), the drink was overwhelmed with overly sweet (HFCS) sour mix. Even with a manual juicer it doesn't take that much effort to squeeze some limes. Folks were having fun and I don't want to be a downer but don't go out of your way to try La Fiesta.

I like their Pollo Loco! I don't know what the white sauce is, but it is so good...very rich and creamy. Service is excellent here, and prices are decent.

Positives: Very good authentic Mexican food Complimentary warm nachos with salsa Friendly atmosphere Food served quickly Karaoke night (if you're into that) plus other special weekly events and specials Addictive queso dip Not-so-Positives: Servers sometimes have long conversations with customers or co-workers Some booths and tables are seemingly child-size La Fiesta has some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. The chicken dishes are awesome. No complaints about the food, but some of the booths and tables are far too small. The servers don't seem to take the body size of customers into consideration. I am over 6 feet tall and over 200 pounds and had to one time wedge into a booth that would struggle to comfortably fit my clothes without me in them. If I had dessert that day then the table and booth would have had to have been dismantled to get me out. Overall, there is very little to complain about at La Fiesta.

This is high end Tex-Mex. Reasonably priced. "Cost effective" options for draft beer. Bright, clean, open atmosphere. Why not 5 stars? Need some hot chicks working.
(4)Ashley R.
If you want to get your Mexican fix on this is the place to do it! La Fiesta fajitas simply don't get any better. Not to mention you always get your money's worth. The frozen margaritas are delicious, and in the winter they usually do a tequila flight that hits the spot. The food comes out fast, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is courteous. I highly recommend this great restaurant!
(5)Keith K.
Service was fast. Our meals were just ok. I got the Super Combo that came with rice & beans, burrito and enchilada. It just didn't taste good. My kids got the fajitas and they got the order wrong. They didn't get our drink right. The best part of the meal was the chips & salsa and guacamole.
(2)Mary Y.
Not a bad little place. We ordered chips but the salsa it came with was partially frozen. So we ordered up some guacamole. It was a large boat of guacamole, and was quite flavorful. I ordered grilled chicken quesadillas which were quite large for $7. I didn't take my leftovers home but could have. Their menu is huge, but authentic. If you're expecting Don Pablo's type queso, it's not.

Looked up on yelp after checking in comfort inn after along drive margarita takes care of stress. staff was very cordial and service was fast I ordered chilli relano green pepper with cheese and then fried in batter Being vegetarian this allows green in my diet with protein - beans and cheese calcium etc Enough of science food was ok price reasonable less then 8 bucks dinner time Plenty of crisp chips and salsa.
(3)Ken Z.
We ordered soft tacos a la carte - fish, chicken, and beef. They arrive on a plate wrapped in foil. Not sure if it is because they are steaming in the foil or because the meats are juicy, but there is a lot of liquid, which quickly makes the tortilla soggy. Fish taco was mostly whole black bean salsa hiding a little piece of grilled tilapia. One person ordered entree - they received their beans when they asked, but never did receive the rice that should have also came with their meal. Service generally prompt. Takes Discover Card. Changing table in men's restroom.
(3)Rosita C.
Everything average as far as cleanliness and service and food. What was great was the salsa and the fried ice cream. Food was very bland and not very authentic. Too gringo for me. Margaritas were not stellar either.
(3)Zachariah H.
My new favorite Mexican place! Better than El Camino and El Vaq. THE BEST salsa and nachos on the planet! Great service. Don't forget to try the Raspberry Margi's :)
(5)Paul K.
Meal was great, I spend 4 months a year in texas. Best Tex me I have had north of Dallas
(5)Tim B.
This place truly is not good at all. Previously I gave La Fiesta 3 stars, and after a couple recent visits, it was clearly rated much too high. The service, atmosphere and facility itself is decent. However, the food and drinks are extremely under par. Let's start with the margaritas. They remind me of a cleaner, Pinesol perhaps. Cheap tequila and generic sour mix makes for an awful drink. The salsa is basic and under flavored-enough said. Dishes containing chicken are extremely flavorless and dry. The ground beef is not much better at all. Tacos from elementary school had more seasoning. If you are looking for boring, basic food with great service, then this is the place to be. If you have a partial palate, then you will be disappointed.

I stopped into a LaFiesta for lunch today.I ordered a margarita and the carnitas luncheon plate which was absolutely delicious. The presentation and the salsa flavored with fresh cilantro and was excellent. My congratulations to the waitstaff for their excellent job as well.

Upon walking in, our senses were tingled by the vibrant party atmosphere. The lunch specials are affordable and pleasing to the palate. The rice is fluffy, not hard - a great deal at $1.90. The chips were made of annually harvested maize, and crackled with a fresh crunch in our mouths - these crisps are offered as a complimentary gift to you, the paying customer!! In the true party spirit, a small infant child sang Mariah Carey's hit "Fantasy" at the booth next door with an uncanny, haunting resemblance. To accompany this excitement, I would recommend the hearty Chile Rilleno lunch special or the sizzly fajitas plate with mildly warmed tortillas (pronounced "tor-till-oz").

First of all, I am glad that they are busy. This area is tough for restaurants to succeed. I was sad to see that the food quality went down the last two times I visited here. So bland and thrown on a plate that I am embarrassed by my first review. Well after reading my original reveiw, I didnt care for my meal then. At the time they opened there were a few other Tex-mex restaurants that opened at the same time. This one stuck out as the better. I am just disappointed of all the Tex-Mex restaurants that have such large menus they cannot pull off good and consistent food. when you can get better chips at a chain restaurant something is wrong. The service is still good. Someone needs to do a Mexican restaurant that has a smaller and authentic menu.
(3)Heather m.
As people who travel through this way several times per year, this was our first stop here, definitely not out last! The service was quick and friendly, the food fresh, hot, and fast, and the prices were great. The salsa is outstanding- not too spicey for me yet not too bland for my husband-very flavorful! Additionally, I'm not even that crazy about Mexican food, i just tolerate it for my husband. La Fiesta could change that! Can't wait for our next trip through!
(5)Duane S.
My shrimp chipotle was good though sauce had fishy taste but don't care for fish so maybe that's why I noticed. That being said I would order it again. Wife's burrito mexicanas was lacked seasoning except for salt. So today's review is mixed. Maybe just not good picks today as we have been happy with food here other times. Salsa was good nice thick pieces of tomatoes not mush as at some places.

There seems to be a huge debate over whats "authentic" mexican food or not, and ever restaurant claims to have it. Ive never been to mexico, i couldn't tell you what is. all i know is that I liked LaFiesta food, and i love dishes with onions, peppers, hot sauce, chorizo, ect. spicy! the do have mild dishes as well. they have a really good seafood menu and the dried pepper and garlic shrimp is fun for the adventurous type. decent drinks, decent chips. Service seems good. ill be back.
(4)Stephanie B.
Don't get your hopes up! Yes it's Mexican and your waiter may be authentic but your food will not be. It's your generic margarita mix and chips & salsa joint.. sorry. So disappointed by their "tortilla soup" which was served without either tortilla strips or avocado, in other words - it was chicken and rice soup. I ordered the enchilada and chile rellenos combo, and could only eat the dry enchilada. The soggy and runny chile was terrible. Come on, people, everyone knows that outside of SoCal the Midwest has the real deal! La Fiesta has work to do. Three stars because I liked Cesar (the authentic part). Wait no, I just can't give this joint an A-ok. Bummer!
(2)Jason C.
La Fiesta is one of those places you really can't complain about. The staff are friendly, the food is consistently decent - not stellar, mind you - and the margaritas taste like they're made from scratch. I've been here twice, and each time I was impressed with the level of service provided. The wait staff seem like they enjoy what they're doing! La Fiesta has under cover al fresco, which is great for warmer weather. Reliable, consistent and pleasant, I would recommend dining here anytime.
(3)Alyssa L.
My favorite place in town! The food is awesome! The chimichanga roll appetizer is my favorite! Also the margaritas are awesome! Try the frozen half piña colada and strawberry! Prices aren't bad! Good atmosphere! The food comes out really fast and we usually have the same staff every time we go there! It's awesome!
(5)Carmen S.
While the food was good and the service okay , make sure you check your credit card charges. They added an additional $8.00 tip on top of the $7.00 we had left for party of 2. I called & spoke with the manager and he pretty much called me a liar and refused to do anything. Disputed it with my bank & they took care of it. Stay away unless you want to get ripped off!
(1)Heidi S.
We've always gone on friday evenings when they were always busy. No matter how many people there are, they always seat us quickly, we get quick service and get our food fast. It's always been a good quality and the service is very friendly there.
(5)Denise S.
The service at the restaurant was great. Although I can't say we had a specific waiter since each time a different employee came by to check we were alright. I'm guessing it's a team effort there. Or maybe it was just that once? Aside from the service the location was cool. Good to go out with family or a group of friends. The food was alright, I wasn't too crazy about the quesadilla, maybe it was the cheese. Can't put my finger on it. But overall I would say that I've had better Mexican in terms of taste.
(3)Joe V.
Let me preface this with the fact that I don't like Mexican food. It's not that I DISlike it, I just don't LIKE-like it. If you asked me where I wanted to eat on any given night, I would never suggest Mexican (outside of the home of the sacred fourthmeal). Until now. I need to ball on budget these days, so I'm always looking for good deals. We stopped in here last Tuesday which happened to be 99cent enchiladas and 1.99 tall domestics. Bonus. Everything from the chips & salsa, to the cheese dip, to the enchiladas, and the beef (seasoned well) on the tacos was great. I will definitely be back. They had other specials pretty much every day of the week.
(5)Nathan G.
Having grown up in South Texas, I'm used to eating mexican food several times a week, so saying I like mexican food is an understatement. That being said, living here in the Toledo area, it has been a stretch to find something like I used to get at home as far as mexican food goes. La Fiesta tastes and feels like home as far as Mexican food goes. Great service and high quality food a very good price.
(5)Simily P.
This place is really good! I'm not really into Mexican food but I LOVED the food here. Tasty and great service! The waiter was very nice and helped us arrange a birthday surprise for one our friends while we were there... Overall a great experience and will be back!
(5)Melinda N.
We have been coming here since the place opened. The staff is so friendly, funny, and helpful! They make excellent drinks and food. A better time could not be had anywhere else!
