We were looking for a bite to eat after leaving the Bluegrass Festival and this name popped up on Yelp. Taverns often have good food so we wanted to try it. The smell of fried fish on this Friday night was intense the minute you walked in the door. The menu is fairly limited so we decided on sandwiches. I had a Mohican burger which is a burger with BBQ sauce and bacon. The burger was cooked well, and the bun was fresh. The BBQ was not overpowering but added a nice flavor. The fries were like fries you get at a fair. All in all, decent meal. My husband had the tomato Parmesan bisque soup and the buffalo chicken wrap. The soup came out piping hot and he really liked it. The wrap was large and the buffalo chicken was tender and had a nice bite to it. He also liked his meal. Our server was quick and efficient, the restrooms were clean and if we had been closer to home, I would have tried one of the many beers they serve.

I should have known just to avoid this place when we called this morning to see if they'd be open since its Labor Day (crazy request I know) and the women on the phone says YUP! 11-9....as I proceeded to say thank you I heard CLICK! Ok so whatever...after a long day of canoeing we thought it would be worth a shot. 1. Not kids friendly at all...their kids menu consists of 3 things a hot dog burger or pasta. I get it's a "tavern" but c'mon no grilled cheese the reg grilled cheese was 8.00 not saying that's a lot but I could tell by the attitude of our waitress that even attempting to ask for a kids grilled cheese wasn't worth asking. They were out of practically everything. So we left. I wouldn't recommend this even if your starving. Eat at the Taco Bell literally next door....you'll get better friendly service!

Food was very good and prices were moderate. It was great after a long ride on the B&O trail- they even have bike parking out front. Atmosphere was friendly- wait staff was attentive without being bothersome. Building was cool and lots to look at.

This place is a really cool little tavern in this adorable little town! The place is very clean and decorated really cool! It looks like it has been very well taken care of, the floors were clean, and even the bathroom appeared freshly painted! The food was pretty tasty as well, fresh and hot, our group had cheese fries (the cheesiest I've ever had!), jalepeno poppers, burgers and fish sandwiches (the fish was a tad over-done), but we all agreed everything was really good. Our waitress was really sweet and did a great job of keeping up with refills! It appears they have live music frequently on Friday and Saturday nights. Our group has talked about returning in the summer to canoe and camp, so this is definitely somewhere we'd return for food, drinks and entertainment!

For Loudonville and about a 20 minute radius this place is 4 stars and about as good as it gets. But rating against similar businesses in Wooster, Mansfield, Columbus, it's about a 3. I had the surf in turf. Ordered it medium-rare and asked it to be more rare than medium. Got it well done and cold after waiting almost an hour for food when it wasn't busy. I think it might have been good if it was cooked right and warm. The turf has a couple of options, I chose the crab cake. It was quite exceptional, not just for Loudonville but for Ohio. In fact I might order the crab cake dinner next time instead. My sides were macaroni salad which you can get from the Marathon on route three and it tastes the same, and green beans which were the vegetable of the day...also decent. The salad was good and probably above average, looked very fresh. We ordered the loaded fries for $6. Comes with an entire basket, fresh cut. Again great, but not as good as say Five Guys and some other venues. The cheese on the fries tasted like cheap stadium cheese like you'd get at a little league game and I think it took away from the goodness of the fries. The wife got the chicken alfredo. Was okay, a little light on the chicken content. The kids got applesauce and hot dogs. The hot dogs were plenty big and beefy tasting. They charge $2 for the kids drinks in addition to the meals, I really hate when restaurants do this and will almost always remove a star from my rating just for that. For $6 my kids have had way better kids meals that include two sides and desserts. We would definitely go back here and eat again. The servers took care of us and did a good job. They even gave us a discount on our meal for the long wait and we didn't even ask or complain about it. That's taking care of the customer.

Loaded fries came out timely and were delicious. Sour cream was fresh and plentiful. Bacon was average. Cheese on fries was melty and stayed that way until the last bite. So I recommend the loaded fries. However, I waited over 40 minutes for our order. Now there were 14 of us on a Saturday so maybe that was the cause. So don't expect a 10 minute ticket time. The club wrap, and panini were made with fresh ingredients and were worth the cost. So good food ...not fast.

Overpriced and disappointing. First of all, they were out of coke, blue cheese, onion rings, and about a half dozen other items on the menu at lunchtime. Service very slow. Ordered a grilled cheese at $8. Looked and tasted like my 5 yr old nephew made it, and I don't have high standards when it comes to a grilled cheese. Potato salad was good though. Wife got a chicken sandwich which was pink inside. Fries were soggy. Ice tea weak. Mac salad was good. Burger mediocre. Good ambiance inside though. You don't have many choices in Loudonville though and the other restaurant up the street is not much better. Personally, I would bring a picnic lunch if going up for the day.

SUPERB service! Nice menu selection, good quality food & good bar prices! Weekend entertainment too! Tomato bisque was a really nice surprise! Really good flavor especially for the price!

Great food, great prices, 1/2 price burgers on Thursday, Fish on Friday Prime Rib on Saturdays can't beat it. Loved this place. Will go back again.

NOT a good place to eat. The prices do not align with the food quality AT ALL. And nothing is made in-house...it is all bought-in. The burger is no better than a Dairy Queen-quality burger even though they say it is Certified Angus Beef. Who puts shredded cheese on a burger anyway? Dinner for 4 adults and 1 child cost $85. I am no stranger to dropping some heavy dimes for good food...but only if it's good food. Kids' menu only had 3 options. Boo hiss on this place.

Service was poor three times now, food was fine. It's a nice place for Loudonville. Probably one of the best in town, but definitely not 5 stars. I will recommend mildly.

When you walk into a little bar restaurant in a small town, you generally aren't expecting much. But this place really rocks. They have a great selection of appetizers which include some unique foods like the quest spicy cheese sticks. The have a great beer selection and full bar with historic looking charm. There is live music on the weekends. But if you want to hear the band you should make reservations. It's a small place but it has upstairs overflow seating. I ordered the surf and turf and it was the best I've ever had. Very fresh salad to start it off. The steak was cooked to perfection. My crab cake had a nice assortment of real crab meat, onion, yellow and red peppers. Delicious! The service was also fast and friendly. Definitely coming back here again.

This is our third or fourth time here and when in loudenville it's a good place for lunch or dinner. Normal pub food. I had the perch dinner special and it was delicious. Others in the group had burgers mostly and one had crab cake which once again was delicious. Lots of variety in the menu. Our table was upstairs and still the service was great and food came quick. Good spot to eat.

My family & I stopped in here after an afternoon of canoeing. We all had burgers. They were good. Prices were good. Can't get better beer prices!! Service was fine. Would stop again if back in the area.

Good food.. Great service. $2 drafts can't be beat! The Tavern Platter is very good. My wife said she experienced a different taste sensation with every bite! Lots of different flavors. The Jalapeño burger is tasty too.
