Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Okay so I ended up eating here after reading the reviews. I have to say that even with all the great reviews it still was above and beyond my expectations. I had an eggroll (if you eat here this is a must) with a hot mustard sauce and it was soooo delicious...then for my entree I had the Dragon and Phoenix...now the chicken was just breaded chicken, I used the sauce from the shrimp side and wow it was so good if you are looking for a homey Chinese restaurant then this is your place

So I ended up at Gee's China Lantern the other day. It's been a long while since my last visit and I'm craving some of their wonderful Kung Pao. Looking at the menu, I spy Yet-Ca-Mein. So this is where my brain got the idea for this Cantonese soup! I've got to give it a try. First of all, I will tell you that Gee can perform miracles with his wok, whether it's Cantonese, Schezuan, or Hunan. He's pretty adept at all of them. The quality is high and their prices are reasonable. Their Yet-Ca-Mein though? Eh. There was nothing wrong with it. It had a decent broth, an OK amount of vegetables (bok choy, mushrooms, napa cabbage and bamboo shoots) and the shrimp was pretty generous. It was just that they used ramen noodles. I guess my thought was that for $9.95 they should use another noodle. No restaurant should use ramen IMO. Other than that? The service was as good as always, Fast, friendly and polite. No atmosphere, just great food and service. I'd still recommend most anything else on the menu and Gee's is worth a stop if you are in or near London. That being said, the next time I will get the Kung Pao.

I was hungry for Chinese on Saturday night and I didn't know what to do because I thought there was only one Chinese restaurant in London and I don't like it. ( I've lived in the area for about four years) Checked Yelp and found this place. So I will forever think of this place as the "New" Chinese restaurant even though it sounds like they have been there about four decades. Overall, the food was very good. The service was friendly. It was a fun little adventure finding this place. I am looking forward to going back and trying more dishes. From the outside I would have had a hard time telling that this place was a restaurant. It almost looks like a house. The faded sign only helps a little. Inside, it is small with about 10 tables. There was only one table with customers but they did a pretty brisk takeout business while I was waiting on my food. I was there for takeout. It took about 10 minutes to get my food. The items I tried... General Tao's chicken - They separate the fried chicken from the sauce for takeout ordered. That was nice. They chicken was great. The sauce not so much. I ordered medium and it was very mild. It was thin and I could taste the various ingredient in various strengths in each bite. Egg roll - Fantastic. One of the best I ever had. Almond chicken - Lots of crunchy almonds, great veggies. The sauce seemed to be chicken broth thickened with a lot of corn starch and it was pretty salty. Overall it was good though. Chicken fried rice - This was pretty well done and the rice tasted almost creamy which probably means there was a lot of oil in it. Regardless, it was really good.

I travel for work and am not familiar with the area. Took the advice off yelp. Great food, I got beef lo mein. Best I've had top 3. The lady that waits on people is hilarious. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in London.

I'm sort of biased cause Gee's one of my buddies, and I used to work for him. However Gee's is great China food. Real. He has his own recipes and ways of doing things. You will be happy with your meal. He insists on having a clean and neat kitchen. The prices are competitive and reasonable. He makes his own egg rolls and they are fresh and real. Around here he has many loyal fans. Hay, I'm going over now. Talked myself into it. Four stars cause his wife won't give me coffee refills. LOL

If you are in London and looking for something other than fast food, Gee's is a good choice. They have a pretty extensive menu with plenty of variety. It is operated by a husband and wife team, he cooks, she waits tables, runs the register, takes phone orders, etc. As such, service is not fast, but acceptable. The food is tasty and the servings are fairly large. I have tried many menu items and have not been disappointed yet. The Dragon and Phoenix, Triple Crown, and Triple Delight are favorites. The shrimp egg rolls are very good. Prices are not cheap, but reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served. Worth a try!
