While I have visited this restaurant since I was a kid, it's not my favorite place to visit. However, the waitresses and owners are extremely nice. Whatever you are in the mood for you can pretty much find it on the menu.

Todd's Mountain View Restaurant is a classic in Lancaster! They are famous (at least locally) for their "broasted" chicken-which is REALLY good. I like the fact that you can order breakfast all day long, all food is cooked to order, and the servers are friendly. A great family place, a good home-cooked meal, and a price that is very reasonable!

A great deal: Two piece broasted chicken, baked potato & veggies for $5.45! Although I felt like the food tasted good while I was eating it (nice home cooking feel), I felt really heavy and overfull from my meal there. Still, I'm glad I left the main road for a diversion through Lancaster.

I've lived about 1 mile from TMV for a little over a year now and this past weekend, at the repeated suggestion of a lady friend, decided it was time to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It was just wanted I needed after a late night of bar hopping. The place was very busy and was seat yourself but luckily we walked in just as a couple was vacating a booth which was great because I prefer booths. If you need to stand and wait for a table to open up its a little awkward as there is no real place to stand other then next to the front door which is also right next to other tables and people eating. It just felt a little weird to me standing next to someone as they eat. Perhaps there are more appropriate places to stand and wait and I just didn't see/know about them. My friend ordered a couple eggs over medium with rye toast and hash browns which she enjoyed very much. I (the pig) ordered two eggs scrambled with a 6oz rib eye, home fries and rye toast and for dessert two buttermilk biscuits with sausage gravy. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came extremely rare so I had to send that back. I waited until I finished my eggs and home fries before sending it back so they wouldn't be cold by the time they returned and I made quick work of that. The eggs were perfectly cooked, very light and fluffy. The home fries were excellent, mostly soft and mushy with an outer crispy layer which is delicious. When the steak returned, cooked perfectly, they gave me another serving of home fries to go along with it and I polished those off no problem. The biscuits and gravy were delicious (and cheap!), and my dining partner agreed after trying them for the first time. Another important aspect was that the coffee was delicious and plentiful. In addition to our waitress there was a woman dedicated to just walking around topping off coffee cups, which is exactly what you want when you go out for breakfast on a Sunday morning. There was not one time I thought about needing more coffee. All in all I highly recommend Todds Mountain View for a very (VERY) affordable and delicious breakfast and will certainly be returning not only for breakfast but to try their lunch and dinner menu.

Love this place. Great prices, homestyle selection, large portions & breakfast all day... Friendly service & homely atmosphere. I read the reviews on thier Broasted Chicken, so I tried it ---deeelish. My fave is the Waffle. It always comes to the table hot & fresh & oh so yum! You gotta check them out at least once.

We love this place! Saw the packed parking lot a few times and finally stopped in out of curiosity. Now we know why! Best ham & beans I've ever had. Wonderful fried chicken. Love their butterscotch pie! The prices are fantastic, too.

Broasted chicken is amazing! All around good food of the comfort food genre. This is definitely a local place and the regulars do represent. I opted for the meatloaf special today. Amazing as usual. My friend got the country fried chicken and it did not disappoint. He had a hankering for onion rings so there you see them in the pic. To summarize great comfort food at great prices in a friendly down home town atmosphere. Definitely worth getting off the main road through Lancaster.
