An utterly uninspired attempt at Italian cooking. Lasagna - dry and too much oregano. Chicken Scaloppini - drowning in olive oil and too much bacon flavor. Eggplant Parmesan - really, you use frozen, pre-breaded eggplant? All in all, a really lousy meal with nothing at all that would bring me back. EVER. EVER. They were empty on a Monday night (imagine that), and the kitchen was STILL very slow... Mom always said to find something nice to say about everything and everyone.... OK, the waitress was nice enough. That's the only nice thing I can think of. There are FAR better Italian family restaurants in Columbus, at least one within 1/2 mile of Spageddies.

We used to go to the one on Noe Bixby all the time before it closed. It was good, reliable Italian food. I was flipping through my Entertaiment book before it expired and I happened to see there was still this location. Since I'd been craving lasagna, this sounded good. We walked in and it was set up exactly the same as the other, you'd never know you weren't at the one on the East side. The bread with the oil and garlic nuggets was a nice piece of nostalgia. We got a side salad with their garlic dressing. I think he may have liked it a little more than I did. I liked it but it wasn't eye popping for me. Their lasagna with meat sauce was still good but maybe missing a layer since the last time we went but still perfectly filling. A solid 3 stars but what made this a 4 star was the service. We got there when they opened and the girl who served us was usually in the kitchen cooking. She was friendly, funny, efficient and made the experience way more than it would've been had we been met with typical server indifference. We'll likely be back!

Ate here yesterday (not my choice of venue). The food was generally decent but not spectacular. My shrimp ravioli ($14.59) was ok - good portion size, fresh-tasting, nicely presented, just a bit bland. His veal marsala ($15.99) fared the same. The decor is nice, and there is plenty of parking. What seriously let it down though was the service. It took forever to be seated, and we waited close to ten minutes for the server (nice enough girl but ditzy as hell) to take our drink order. Once we got the food, the server didn't check on us, and we had to wave her over twice to get drink refills. Pretty lame. I give it 4 for food and 2 for service.

PIctures in the menu don't do justice to the portion sizes...much more generous! They bring a loaf of bread with garlic nugget olive oil as soon as you sit down. No need to know if your order is worthy of it or not!! The waitress (though I forgot her name at the moment), was very nice, accomodating and prompt. She seemed to have been there for awhile as she knew some of the other patrons regular orders! The Papa's Trio was more than an appetizer! It was a delicious MEAL! I'll be back to try other dishes soon!

After perusing our entertainment book, my girlfriend and I decided to take advantage of the "buy one entree, get one free" deal at Spageddies. We arrived around 7:30 on a Thursday night, and were greated by a friendly hostess who seated us immediately. Our main server was on her second day of training that night, so we were treated to two servers for our meal. Since it was our first time, we asked for their recommendations and got the Papa's Trio as an appetizer. The crab stuffed mushrooms were excellent, the tomatoes served with the bruschetta were at the perfect ripeness, and the fried calamari was a good mixture of crunchy on the outside and a little chewy inside. My shrimp & scallop scampi was wonderful (the scallops practically melted in my mouth), and my girlfriend really enjoyed here shrimp fra diavolo. We finished our meal by splitting the tiramisu, which was light, but rich with a small bite of rum. However as much as we enjoyed the food, the service was the highlight of the night. Our servers were very friendly and helpful as my girlfriend asked for their recommendations. When my girlfriend asked them to make the sauce "spicy, but not too spicy" our server had the chef put in less pepperoncinis and then recommended that they serve the sauce on the side. She ended up loving the sauce and put in all on her dish, but the extra helpfulness was greatly appreciated.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
