Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Great spot in Hilliard! Liz was so friendly and welcoming. A great place to relax with friends. We started with the Dippers, and then had a Calzone and Blanca Pizza. Everything was delicious! This beats any chain pizza in the area.

This is a pretty unique place that is hard to describe. Being in this bar is like being invited to a party at the owner's house. It is definitely a bar with pizza and other bar food, but Liz, the owner is the host, cook and bartender. She is a sweetheart who clearly cares about her bar and her customers. The bar itself is very small, warm and inviting. Lots of regulars and I can tell you that there are other bars a couple hundred yards away but you would never know it. This place is tucked in a block away from the main drag in Old Hilliard and I've lived in Hilliard for 9 years and didn't know this place was really here until a couple of years ago. I hesitate to even recommend going here because it is not meant to be crowded and full of rowdy drinkers. There are other bars nearby that cater to that crowd. This place has a vibe more like a late night, after hours place, although I think Liz closes early most nights during the week - depending on the crowd. It has great pizza, a nice little tiki-like patio and a warm kitschy interior. It's a throwback and a great place to have a mellow friendly evening. Don't bring the frat crowd here, though, its not that kind of place.

Strange as it might sound, I arrived at Benito's to attend a piano recital (on the patio) for my grand-daughter. For all the times I have driven through Hilliard on Main St., I never knew this pizzeria existed. That fact was my loss. While my daughter-in-law and I sat on the patio with about 25 other folks, we listened to young piano students play for their families. Before the recital began, Liz (owner of Benito's) approached our table and asked if she could bring us any drinks. My immediate reaction was how friendly was and told me not to worry about the bill at that moment and just come into the bar prior to leaving. Her style was very impressive and I liked the place after only 5 minutes. After the recital ended, I walked inside to pay my bill. However, before paying for my drink, I mentioned to her that I had encounter a "First" when she delivered my Diet Coke and a glass. I am 75 and have been in more than one bar/restaurant in my life but never have I been served a glass that has been filled to the one-half mark with water and then frozen solid. I just poured my coke to filled the remainder of the glass and enjoyed a very cold coke without have to deal with a lot of ice cubes or crushed ice. Great idea! Liz explain why she serves glasses like that but I will let you, the customer ask her for her engaging story. I did not have any food, so my four stars may seem like a weak review. However, I will bet that the attention I saw the recital folks receive plus finding out the Liz is Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, I think it is safe to say that the food you receive at Benito's will be above average. Liz has run the business for 13 years. and I am sure she know very well the needs of all her customers.Restaurant & Bar. Also, if the weather is good, I will definitely pick the patio for my dinner table.

Updated Benito's review -- Liz is still effin' awesome. Even though this is clearly a pizza joint, I had never had their pizza. Always got stuck on the Dunca's or the sammiches. I ordered the Bianca pizza. Holy. Freaking. Goodness. I would totally give this a 4.5 stars if I could. It was just...extremely delicious. Also learned that Liz makes her own tomato sauce from her garden...that explains some deliciousness, too. Still a fun patio to go and relax on, quiet and laid back.

Don't worry - it looks like you are going to be walking right into her living room when you go in. Just do it - you're ok. I went with my family, and sat outside on the patio. It was clear Liz was the only person there - serving, bar-tending and even making the food! She knew it was our first time, so she gave us an appetizer of the "Duncas" - lightly fried and served with her pizza sauce. We split a sub and a pizza and it was great! Liz was personable and attentive, and even invited us to a little barbecue she is having in her backyard - which is the actual back of the restaurant because she lives there. Such a cool experience!

Delicious. It does take longer then most pizza places, defiantly worth the wait though. The pizza dough was obviously hand tossed, the sausage seemed to be house made also. Our salad was great, chopped crisp lettuce, salami, pepperoni l, onions, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and some sort of italian seasoning. Delicious! Would recommend for some looking for truly home made pizza :)

Great value and good food. Liz was very friendly and a real person. Not flashy or in your face, just a good hostess. She brought us a free appetizer to try when she found out we were first timers. My hubby, my self and our two adult sons went today. We had the 16 inch Italian sub with chips and the 16 inch pizza with pepperoni and sausage. We also had 4 beers and a good margarita with salt for $37.00. Try it my peeps. Sweet location - good time. Do it!

As nice as Liz is, and as tasty as the small salad was, the pizza leaves something to be desired. Do you remember pizza day in the school cafeteria with the white crust with the holes on the bottom. Yeah, that's pretty much the pizza.

Be sure to check out the restrooms! Benito's, owned by Liz, is a great place to relax and spend time, and enjoy good food. You can't be in a rush; the laid-back pace of the service is part of the charm. Liz is usually a one-woman show, but whips up great-tasting pizza, calzones, and duncas (just go, and order - you'll see!). Off the strip in Old Hilliard, it's a great place all around.

Ok. I go because Liz, the owner, is the funniest woman around. We all love her hard working, good cooking, fun loving personality. Drinks are poured fairly, pizza is dependably good and the sandwiches are excellent. In warm weather, the patio is breezy and off the main road, so quieter. Great place to party with friends. No frills, intimate and always great for a giggle.

I give this place a 4 stars for atmosphere alone. Very small, fun, and casual. I wished they had a bigger tv though. Their food however is pretty weak. I would give their food a 1.5 stars. Had their pep pizza and white garlic sauce pizza and was not impressed. I really wanted to like it so bad but the sauce was not good. Maybe I will try a sandwich next time.

I like this place. It has a very chill, linger and hang out with your friends vibe to it. I thought of Thurman's Cafe when I walked in here the other day. Kitchy stuff all over the place. The owner, Liz, like everyone else noted is very nice and very welcoming. She's one of those endearing types that makes you feel like you want to just hang out and talk - and I was just doing a pizza pick up. I'll be frank with you that I actually thought about just sitting at the bar and eating my pizza there. You're wondering about their pizza, right? A medium mushroom set me back $15 and it's your typical Ohio cracker crust type that I love. Now, I really wanted to love this pizza and it was decent but it didn't wow me. Would I order it again? Maybe, but I would ask for some oregano, red pepper flakes, Parmesan cheese....something to flavor it up a bit and I'd have them bake it a few more minutes. You know, just tweaking it to my tastes. They have a fairly large Italian menu so I'd be interested in trying out some other stuff the next time. So all that being said...if you are looking for a place to hang out, have some food and drinks with friends, this little mom and pop shop may just fit the bill for you. PS. The pizza was cut into squares, as it should be.

We went for dinner over the weekend since we hadn't been here at all this year. We ate inside, got our usual duncas, and a large veggie pizza. Liz has expanded her menu to include calzone and subs. It was her birthday the previous day, and she gave us pieces of her 3 birthday cakes from her big surprise party her friends and family threw for her. Nice personal touch.

I came back, and while Mrs. Benito wasn't supposed to open her doors for another 30 minutes, she took me and my 3 friends in and offered us the dinner menu. Food was good, prices were decent, and you leave knowing you just had some italian homecooking. The atmosphere is really what draws to this place: it's a quaint little hole in the wall Italian stop where you get your drinks in the same kind of plastic cups you would've pulled out of the cupboard growing up. The walls are decorated in a mix of wall art and signed dollar bills. It's not my favorite place to go in Hilliard, but if Starliner behind it is closed, then I'll head here.
