Fiesta Mariachi Menu

Unlike some of the older reviews, they had excellent and fast service. From being seated almost immediately, to taking the order, to bringing the food, everything was excellent. For Ohio, the fajitas were good. Yes, I'm grading on a curve. If this restaurant were in Texas, the fajitas would be two stars. Decent, but they miss the mark on several levels: small pieces of meat that were cooked with too much steam, and too few peppers. Marinade and grill marks or a good sear with a little garlic butter and a lime on top would go a long way.

Well, if you miss Chi Chi's then perhaps you will like this place. However, we are from Arizona, and unfortunately, this is the worse Mexican food we have ever had. I thought it was just my chili rellenos (they took a chili, put it in a small skillet, add cheese on top, put tomato sauce on top and heated it). However, it turned out that I had the best dish of the group. Given some of the other reviewers' comments, we may have just hit a "bad night." However, we are not going to risk it. I have been using Yelp for some time, but I had not contribute to it. This meal inspired me to set up an account to warn others. Now that I have an account, I will start adding new reports! There are a lot of great restaurants in Columbus.

Generic tasting food I'm not an actual food critic but the chips tasted like cardboard, the guacamole tasted like high school cafeteria food and I got the fajitas which tasted very dry. Wouldn't like to eat there again.

MAJOR disappointment. Food not fresh at all. And flies and bugs in the restaurant. Wish we went to Taco Bell instead!

My wife and I have been going to this restaurant with our friends since it was in the original location (just down the road). The food has always been EXCELLENT and if they make an error, it's corrected within minutes! There not much on the menu I wouldn't eat, but my favorite is their #40 "El Tapatio" (grilled chicken with chorizos). It's served with rice and flour tortillas and usually I get a side of refried beans. My wife loves their cheese enchiladas, so she gets the #5 combination with rice and refried beans. I would recommend both for either a big lunch or good sized dinner. The chips and home made salsa are great, especially with an order of their guacamole. As for the service problems others have reported...we've never had that problem. Of course we request our 'Amigo' Marco, when possible and tip well to ensure our cups are promptly refilled and the chip baskets stay full (just a couple extra $'s go a long way)! ;-) Our PTO has even used them to provide rice, chips and salsa for our "Teacher Appreciation" luncheon at our daughter's school. Special Note: The Margaritas are TOP NOTCH, just be careful because they have a tendency of sneaking up on you, if you're not careful!

From purely a food standpoint, this would be a 5+++ rating. But, as other reviews have pointed to, service can be shaky. And, if doing carryout, be prepared for a much longer wait than they quote, and please check your bags very closely for missing items. However, even after multiple messed-up orders and threats from my wife or I of "we've got to find another place" ... the food brings us back every time!

Love this place. Reasonably priced and I always leave full. I like the addition of the patio for some margaritas in the summertime .

I have to agree with the other comments about the wait staff here. They just don't have a clue what is going on. The hostesses are all confused. The bartender is missing half the time and the waiters do forget about you. Better to sit at the bar or when u do get a server order your whole meal and extra drinks because u might not see them for a while! We sat in the bar in a booth and it was nice and cozy but the people next to us were two drunk big mouth chicks and by the end of our meal we knew all about their mothers, where they worked, the fact that they get "high" and the details of their day were quite fascinating lol! Not! yea people, ever heard of TMI?!?! Now on to the food. Hubby got the beef and chorizo tacos as one other diner recommended and boy did they not disappoint. They were fantastic! My hubby loved them. I got the supreme fajitas and they were also yum! I am from down south and I love me some Mexican. I always tell my husband I have to go feed my little inner Mexican! I have eaten at every Mexican place in and around Columbus and this place has the best dining room and bar area, the food is good not great but it beats a lot of other places I've been. Rancho Alegre was my spot till they messed up their service and pissed me off for the "baby shots" this place gives you a full shot of tiquilla. It won't blow your hair back or anything like that but it's decent. I will be returning soon as I need to feed my little inner Mexican! It was pretty cheap too. Margaritas are $5 shots are $4.50 and our bill was around $60 normal for 2 people with drinks and shots. The rice and beans were nothing to write home about but the chips and salsa was the best I have had in Columbus and that says a lot.

Best refried beans in town! They even have flan. Dos Equis on draft! Tacos tacos tacos

Fiesta Mariachi is all over the place now. It seems like they've got one on all sides of Columbus. I do feel like the one on Georgesville is better, however. The one on Georgesville isn't in as good of an area but it surely beats this one.

My favorite Bean dip ever!! We enjoy going there. The owner lupee really cares about the community. The server are friendly. Its like a big family. Its a must try.

It's rare that I would feel the need to review a spot like this. I think everyone pretty much knows what they're getting into when they visit a chain-type mexican joint. Greasy, cheesy goodness. Yep. And that's precisely what I was craving on this particular evening, and Fiesta Mariachi did not disappoint. We split their Jalisco enchiladas, a chili relleno, and a tamale. I wasn't impressed with the chili relleno (it's not breaded, and it's a red pepper instead of the typical green that I am used to), but the tamale was great, and the Jalisco enchiladas were amazing. The sauce over tops was delish, and oh-so-unhealthy. Everything about it. But like I said, that's what I was hoping for. This is the place I'll go from now on when I'm in the mood for something to clog my arteries.

The wait staff was friendly and we sat in a nice space with big windows open to the outdoors, but the food was just "okay." The rice and the chicken were dry, the salsa too mild, and it was hard to find the actual pepper in the chile relleno.

  • Mike G.

It's a competent Mexican restaurant. It's kinda plain looking on the outside and that typically nice enough Mexican decor on the inside. The service was good. I didn't have to wait very long for anything and the server was pretty nice. Friendly service, you know, what can I get you and let's keep it moving. Chips and salsa were kinda meh here. Bagged chips, not warm with some institutional brand salsa. Eh. I got the Camerones de Diablo again and this was by far the most mild I've ever had at any other restaurant. I got black beans, lettuce and guac along with the tortillas. Good flavor and it was filling. I give them marks for using the tortilla warmers and giving me 4 tortillas instead of the usual 3. All washed down with a couple Negra Modelos and I'm happy.

When one restaurant is where my entire family always chooses to eat for their picky-any-place birthday dinner, you know it is good. The wait staff is great they accommodate any size of a group, and the food is always fresh, tasty and constantly good. My husband always orders the enchiladas, and asks them to make them all cheese instead of the assortment..and they happily do. The Birthday sombrero and singing is a hoot, and we have years worth of photos of people in that silly hat. Their margaritas are delish. Try the mango. Lots of tvs for the games. A glassed in/screened in patio for the overflow. I love their tiles and the bathroom deco.

True homemade mexican food and servers. The menu offers a generous amount of meals to choose from. I always get the 33b chimichanga with Spanish rice. It is a generous portion and you choose the meat inside the chimichanga (steak chicken or ground beef.) The plate has a small "salad" on it topped with sour cream. The chimichanga is covered with some type of white sauce. The rice finishes the plate. They also give you hot, fresh nachos and salsa. We ordered fried ice cream for dessert. It's a large scoop of ice cream with cinnamon sugar and covered in corn flakes. I was very disappointed. All I could taste was soggy corn flakes. Very disappointed.

This was our first time here. We will definitely be back! The enchilada supreme (number 29) was delicious! Instead of drowning it in sauce, you could actually taste the food. Everything tasted fresh and made just right. Since authentic enchiladas are made with corn shells, it's gluten intolerant friendly.

My first review. Yippy! Been coming here for quite a while. Usually carry out because of the noise level in the dining room. Noticed in the last six months or so that food quality is going down hill big time. We used to really enjoy it. Worse though is the wait time to pick up our order. Never ready when promised. Even worse, extreme attitude from hostess and cashiers. Actually, just plain rude. We are not complainers and I understand that people have an off day but we will no longer pay to be treated that way.

The food can be a 4/5 but the service can be a 1/2. maybe the servers should understand that some of us speak Spanish and understand what certain words mean in Spanish

First time in town not knowing where to go and not wanting fast food, based on proximity and reviews, opted for here. Happy hour rita...not too bad for shelf. Wanted small app while I decided so chose to go with small guac...not so good, seems like an over processed version and a bit generic, definitely not fresh. Didn't get plate or napkins either. I asked the waiter if I should go with garlic or fajita shrimp...he suggested fajita so ok...plate of rice and beans came out as hot to the touch as the cast iron pan...rice was crunchy and burnt on top. Waiter brought me another plate of rice, he didn't need to bother, flavorless. Beans...bland. Shrimp and veg not flavorful at all and shrimp was overdone. I had to ask for plate and silverware. ..guess it wasn't that important. SItting in the bar area is definitely at your own risk, as is anywhere, I learned a lot about the national champions tonite thanks to the loud talker at the bar...who wasn't this loud 30 mins ago lol. Bottom line this is a half step above the chain of many across the street. Authentic is found at origin or neighborhoods purely ethnic...this place doesn't nearly deserve the praise and appreciation it gets from locals let along anyone...including the chihuahuas. Thank God for happy hour

All those reviews claiming that some other place has the best fish tacos? Nope. Best fish tacos are here. It's the fish that sets these ahead of any other fish tacos I've had in the Columbus area. In fact, the fish is SO good that I'm going to use a word I really hate to describe it: moist (I cringed). The sauce that comes with it it tangy and they give you a separate sauce to dip - the two combined is like an explosion in your mouth. They top it off with shredded red cabbage which gives it a very festive and attractive look but also adds the perfect amount of "crunch" to an otherwise soft dish. Since I've discovered the fish tacos I cannot walk in to this establishment and *not* get them. I just can't.

Normally, all these "Mexican" restaurants are the same. Same beans, same rice, and the same dishes. This one stands a little above. Great food, great service, nice clean atmosphere with a real Mexican theme, and a full service bar with large screen TVs. Our sever, Carlos, was the best. He recommended the Fiesta Mariachi Fajitas, which was a beef, chicken, shrimp, and Chorizo mix which turned out to be outstanding! And it was hearty...not just a couple of small pieces of each protein, this dish was stacked with meat. And the said Chorizo, absolutely fabulous! Carlos said his regulars would order standard tacos, then get the Chorizo on the side and ad it to them. Definitely recommend, and definitely returning.

The meat quality here is amazing! Usually most Mexican restaurants have below par quality on their meat and I'm very picky. This place was outstanding in terms of service and food quality. Even the guac was fresh and delicious.

The fajitas here are the best I've ever had. My mom LOVES this place and says it is the best Mexican restaurant in the Columbus area. Considering she grew up on the Texas border, and LOVES Mexican food, I feel she would know. The wait staff has been great most of the time. The hostesses need some help. They are usually disinterested and unfriendly. And some of the overweight hostesses need to wear looser clothing.

Absoluteley the BEST tasting Mexican I've ever tasted!! (That just didn't sound right given my penchant for the black haired devils;) There isn't just one thing I like here, no, I love everything I have ever had! I don't care what you choose, it is all excellent. The servers are very friendly and efficient. The wait moves along quickly, refills are timely and the food rawks! Good beer selection and the margaritas are yummy. Specials are:$5 off $25 or more, $10 off $50 or more and $3 off 2 lunch entrees with Valpak coupon Sunday thru Thursday. Expires at the end of the month 12-10. So hurry. Ok, I'm done dribbling on about it. If you like Mexican, just go, you don't need to think about it. Salud!

I frequent Fiesta Mariachi at least twice a month and have been doing so for over 7 years. The margaritas are the best in town! The staff is friendly and service is prompt. The food is very good but I do wish they had a "build your own" type combo offering because sometimes what I am craving is not on the menu. I think anyone who tries this place will be hooked!

One of the best Grove City restaurants. If you've tried other restaurants similar or same in name, don't pre-judge .... this one is the best. Same friendly & familiar faces year after year. Excellent food on the cheap! My favorite place for Mexican hands down. Only sad face is no wine selection.

I started coming to this location after first finding the one at Georgesville Rd. I find that this one is better run, with better service, and more consistency in food preparation. Great Ohio style Mexican food, I love the Guiso Steak Mexicano, the chile relleno, and the tamales. If you haven't yet, try the Jarritos, it's a Mexican soda made with real sugar. And stick around for the cheesecake chimichunga for dessert!

The food is ok. The price is average. It took about 15 min to order sadly but the food came out fast as they were not very busy. They seemed surprised when we asked to order as if we were only there for free chips and salsa. All in all its an average place that could use a little better customer service and attention to detail.

This has become the standby after-work spot for celebrations with the coworkers. It's only grace is it's closeness to our workplace. The other features include: - Staff who aren't all that friendly or helpful. We have been chastised for asking to be served at the bar and then ignored when waiting politely at the table. - Disappearing happy hour prices. Last time we went, we paid full price for drinks. The excuse was that even though we'd ordered them during happy hour, we paid for them post happy hour and they couldn't tell which were ordered early or later. We've warned them we were coming. We've tried hard to make things easy. Nothing helps. I'm hoping we determine a new go-to spot soon.

Good Mexican food through and through. Not super-cheap, but not expensive either. You're not going to get anything super-hot, but you will get just good Mexican comfort food for everyone in your family. Given that there's not that much good ethnic food in Grove City, this is a special treat.

Ordered take out for the first time. The girl who took our order over the phone was less than knowledgeable about the menu which we were ordering from for the first time. Food was less than flavorful. And they forgot standard ingredients on items we ordered. No flavor what so ever to the beef in our burrito and tacos. Unfortunately the best item about the whole meal was the tortilla chips. Even the salsa was disappointing. Definitely will not be visit this restaurant again.

The best Mexican you can get in the Columbus area. Everything I have tried on the menu is good. However, 9 times out of 10 I get the El Molcajete. I stumbled on this dish one of my first times there and it is by far the Mexican dish I have ever tasted. It consists of strips of fajita steak grilled with shrimp, mushrooms, pablano peppers, onions, chorizo, and their own special sauce served in this lava rock molcajete bowl. The server it with guacamole salad, beans, rice, and warm soft tortillas. It is a lot of food, but I promise you will love it. I make the trip over quite frequently just for this dish alone. They also have great happy hour prices, 32oz draft beers for $5 isn't too bad at all. Their margaritas aren't bad either. As with any Mexican restaurant with serve free chips and salsa. The chips are yellow corn and the salsa is homemade. The service is usually pretty good, however if you are in with a large group sometimes it is hard to keep the drinks as well as the chips and salsa stocked adequately all the time. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly during my visits. They know my fiends and I quite well as the whole table usually orders the El Molcajete. It is that good. Update 6/21/12: The menu has recently undergone a change for the better. Another favorite of mine are the steak and chorizo tacos. They do not already come with cheese so I suggest you ask for some on the side because it definitively completes the dish. For appetizers the queso fundido (white queso cheese with chorizo sausage on top) is awesome and goes great with their yellow corn tortilla chips.

Poor! The flour tortillas were soggy. Shrimp enchiladas were shrimp and a flour tortilla. I ate shrimp. The rice was cold and tasted microwaved. Chicken quesadilla was gross and greasy. Lived in so cal for years, this is terrible.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
