This is pretty much your standard neighborhood, local bar. There's not much here that you either haven't seen before or can't get someplace else. They have two patios which was pretty awesome since there have been some lovely evenings the past couple of days. And their patio is well-situated and the servers are quick and unobtrusive. The food was all right. I heard that their pizzas are pretty good but we weren't terribly hungry so stuck with appetizers. The nachos were pretty tasty. The prices are reasonably and the crowd was pretty diverse so this isn't a bad place to enjoy a couple hours on a patio.

Coaches - typical Gahanna bar... great food, fun and live entertainment. One of the top 5 favorites in Gahanna. Hint: One wont go wrong with the pizza! Chris Logsdon on Wednesday nights... great fun!

Live bands, huge outdoor patio and bar, decent pizza, what more could you want? This place was a good venue for my 10-year high school reunion. We had ample space to mingle and catch up with old friends, as well as not having to worry about how loud the live band was. Also, the bartenders were prompt and friendly, and did not keep me waiting to place my drink order. I'll come back here in the future. I recommend this bar for any medium-size events. This is a nice bar. They have lots of seating, indoor and outdoor. They have a pool table and a modern juke box. The bar food is typical, they even have salads though, nice. Enough flat screen TVs to watch the game--or pretend to. I'm not sure why the other reviews are so low...I don't think they're bad at all...not my favorite bar but again, not bad. R.I.P Hal & Al's.

This place should be a lot busier than it is. Good pizza friendly service and good prices. What makes this place cool is the large garage doors that open to the patio in warm weather. Lot's of TV's good place to watch the game(s)! Otherwise pretty typical sports fare.

Ricks Coaches Gahanna, Ohio I always thought this was a sports bar, until recently. I mean there name says "Coaches" but really I would beg to differ on the entire Sports theme... Atmosphere: This place had mediocre at best atmosphere. I guess I was looking for a Sports theme, which there was none. We did go there on a Saturday night during the football play-offs, for any "Sports" bars I would assume there should be some sort of beer special, but there was none. But you all know what happens when you assume... (Insert cheesy cliché saying here). You will however get a hell of a deal on a bucket of beer of 5 domestic beers for 13.75 (Insert sarcasm here). I guess what I am saying is this joint is overpriced, there is little to be said about the non-existing sports bar theme except for the tiny TV above my head. I also guess that if you advertise you are a Sports bar and suggest it in the name that you would not have a live band (blues band at that) play during double OT during the football playoffs. So no one can actually here the end of the game. However, we did here a band warming up for their set to be played the game. Really??? I think this was the hardest thing for me to overcome. Food: Just do not order it, get food before you go unless you like over paying for crappy Sysco food...Had their pizza, not worth the hefty price.... Sauce is lacking any flavor they barely put any cheese on it and all the staff says it's great. I think they tell you to get the pizza because it's better than their poorly constructed sub sandwiches that are extremely overpriced for the quality of food. You can definitely tell that Sysco delivers there. Thanks for your frozen chicken tenders, and your undercooked French Fries. I would not mind paying a couple of bucks extra if the food was good quality. Staff: What would one expect from staff that sits at the bar hanging on their boyfriends while they should be working. However, most of the staff was somewhat friendly. Don't worry I am sure I will not return to this "sports bar" to watch any games.

I don't get the fascination with Coaches. It's very popular is nothing special. Beer isn't cheap, food isn't great, and nothing stands out. Half price pizza during lunch is nice though.

Stopped in to Coaches last night with a group. We ordered a large cheese pizza. The crust is very good and ample amount of cheese is used. As for the sauce.....it does need a bit more work. We all found ourselves adding salt or additional spices to our slices. I will definitely try Coaches again. Maybe ordering more toppings on the pizza, but in my opinion you can tell a really good pizza just by ordering cheese. Its worth a try. I will be back especially to experience the large patio that is now enclosed.

Nice patio. Cheap beer. Run-of-the-mill pub food. Repeat. There was nothing too special about Rick's. Definitely a local (and by local, I mean suburbanite) bar. The patio was what I was most impressed with. There was a stage for bands and a really large outside bar. I'd guess the patio was bigger than the inside of the bar itself. There were more menu items that I was expecting, but nothing outside the box of standard local bar fare. I'd go back for special occasions on the patio, but really... Gahanna can keep Rick's.

Nice little place in Gahanna. The patio is fairly large and fun place to enjoy the summer evening. I've been there twice when they have a live band and my only complaint is the tiny dance floor/area. The service is great, prices affordable and the drink pours are not stingy.

When i was but a wee girl, living on the Best - I mean East - Coast, I used to watch the Drew Carey Show *insert "It's a Five o'Clock World" and/or "Cleveland Rocks" here.* All I knew about Ohio was that apparently Cleveland rocked (?!) and that everyone seemed very pasty, wore flannel, watched a lot of football and had pool tables in their finished basements. As these were not our customs, Ohio always seemed like a very strange land to me, one that existed in a vortex that I would probably never have to deal with. Touche. One time when I lived in Chicago, I met a kid from Ohio, and asked him if he had a finished basement with a pool table. He did. I knew I was on to something. Places like Rick Coaches just reiterate to me the stereotype that Ohio *can be* (but, mind you, absolutely absolutely *is not entirely* - as I adore Ohio and will defend it to the death) for the rest of the country. Everything, however, about being in Coaches last night brought Drew Carey-esque memories back to me - from the drunk football fans in Packers jerseys (now I cannot figure this part out... I know it's the playoffs, but where did the Packers fans come from?) screaming GO PACK GO PACK GO PACK so loudly that it was impossible to have any sort of conversation for five minutes after their team made a good play... to the pasty-looking cover band in the other room doing Sublime and Three Doors Down covers for a group of adoring suburbanite moms on a wild night out (musta gotten a babysitter! Really gettin' wild now!). Miller lite was served in a bottle which I have never seen before and cannot identify except to say it looked like it was supposed to be aluminum. I cannot tell you the purpose of this, except possibly to be "sporty." The waittress was great, very timely and attentive in her delivery of drinks and order taking - and the food looked excellent, though I didn't try the pizza or wings as I had a slight tummy ache (probably from having to listen to Sublime covers, heyoo!). Overall I was quietly amused by the whole experience. If I hadn't had to drive 20 miles home, I would have gotten wasted and made the moms sing along to bad 90s music with me... but as it was, I was content to hang out with the wonderful company of my friends and try to talk over the drunk woman in the Packers crowd whose volume was here (10) and needed to be here (4). Rick Coaches, the next time a sitcom about the Ohio suburbs is being made, you should apply to be the local bar. It's always sunny in Gahanna.

Stopped for a beer and burger. Beer is in a plastic bottle? No burgers, just pizza n subs. Very limited menu. It is much more impressive on the outside than the inside. It was clean and friendly. The bar was limited.

Just visited for the first time on a recent Friday night. I was impressed. The Pizza was excellent and the wings good. (wings could have been cooked more, but were big and meaty with a good hot sauce.)

The good drink specials are not enough to overcome the overly dark atmosphere, mediocre food, and high prices at this hole in the wall. I had the buffalo chicken pizza which was so average in quality that I almost didn't take my leftovers home. If it hadn't been so expensive I likely would have left it to rot. Definitely not impressed. Definitely not going back. The dirt cheap happy hour drink specials are the only saving grace here preventing a one star rating.
