I didn't really know what I wanted for dinner tonight, but I did know I wanted to stay on the west north west side. I decided what better place to investigate than Dublin. Looking at all the traditional spots .. Mezzo, Tucci's, Oscar's, Brazenhead .. nothing really hit me. My partner in crime said, "Why don't we try Mr. Sushi?" I agreed. We haven't been there as of yet and thought it would be a great place to try. Upon entering the restaurant, I decided to sit at the sushi bar which is one of my favorite spots in any sushi joint. I love watching the skills of the chefs preparing their masterpieces of edible art. I am a total sucker for sushi! As we read the menu, I decided on having "Ozeki Karatamba Sake". A decent "honjozo-style" sake and a great decision for our meal as it paired well featuring a full-body, rich taste that felt smooth on the palate. This ISN'T the type of sake you heat. You serve it slightly chilled and enjoy it's crisp, dry flavor. For our meal, I began with my "Gold Standard", one I judge every sushi spot with .. "Spicy Snow Crab Roll". I have theory and that is .. "If the place can take a simple crab roll and make it delightful .. I'm pretty sure the rest of the fair will follow suit." AND indeed it did. The crab was fresh, had great mouth feel and stood up to the other items we ordered. I will definitely have this roll again at Mr. Sushi. In addition to the crab roll, I ordered the "Dragon Roll" which consisted Unagi (eel), cucumbers and thinly sliced avocado. topped with a "Sweet Unagi Sauce". It was delicious! I especially liked the Unagi Sauce from Mr. Sushi. Not overly sweet with just enough umami to compliment the sweet. My third attempt was the "Caterpillar Roll" .. Spicy Maguro (tuna), cucumber, topped with avocado, spicy mayo and Tobiko (flying fish roe) .. The best roll of the night!. The Tobiko made this roll. I simply love roe on my rolls! Was Mr. Sushi the best sushi I've ever had? No .. That honor goes to Katsuya in LA. But it was very good. A little pricier than I expected for what we got. Average price I have paid for this quality of sushi is around $40. This was $10 higher, but all-in-all a very good meal AND very good sake. I need to find the "Ozeki Karatamba" for home! SubarashÄ« o shokuji shite itadaki arigatÅgozaimasu. Wareware wa modotte kuru!

The resource roll was fantastic. I tried a bit of my wife's-- she's pregnant and avoiding raw fish but they had this on the menu and it's fully cooked. Great soup too. The dumpling soup is, dare I say, the bombest presushi snack ever.

Three of us went to Mr Sushi on a Friday night around 5:30pm. We stood at the hostess area for several minutes as staff walked past us - no one acknowledging us. I wondered if we were supposed to seat ourselves. Finally we were seated and ordered drinks. I ordered a green tea martini that they had on special. It was good, but I overheard everyone asking how to make one so I am leery that I got the cocktail prepared the proper way. Also, it came in a water glass.. I have never been served a martini in a water glass. Our server was very nice, but a little flighty. She seemed to be confused quite easily. The saving grace for this restaurant is the amazing sushi. We ordered several rolls.. Louisiana, Kinky, Resource, King Crab, Sunday and something with word sexy in it I believe. They were all delicious. My faves were the Sunday roll and the Resource roll. All were very fresh and well made. Also, we ordered the gyoza app- which was delicious, and some sort of teriyaki chicken & veggie skewers that were really good. My wife would have given the place five stars because service doesn't bother her as much as me. She's just in it for the yummy sushi :) She asked to go back for her 40th birthday dinner so we will see how that goes and maybe this will be our new sushi spot in Dublin.

Great sushi for Ohio. This hideaway is tucked away in the old town part of Dublin. I talked to the sushi chef and he said that they throw away their fish after 3 days...BOOM now that's fresh! The sashimi pieces are pretty big and they have a good variety too. I had the sushi dinner and the chirashi dinner. Don't worry, I went on two different occasions, for those thinking that I'm a Susie (fat @$$). HAHA JK I also recommend their rolls and hot sake too. The price is decent/normal for any good sushi place. With friendly wait staff and plenty of parking...what'reyoooowaiiitingfor?!

Well, Mr. Sushi. Location = 2 (off site parking about a block away. bad if you're wearing heals or if it's freezing) Ambiance = 3 (some traditional japanese, but gosh it was just lacking SOMETHING) Service = 4 (responsive and good timing) Food = 2 (Rolls were on the small side and the dinner wasn't very edible) Well, I had been meaning to give this one a try being in downtown Dublin and all. Had the California and Eel Roll this visit, just a bit disappointed the rolls were fairly small. Not terribly pleased by them. I had the chicken dinner and it was just not appetizing. There was a general after taste which I didn't really care for. Just not pleased with the dinner. I really do prefer blue ginger to mr. sushi. I would not recommend Mr. Sushi.

SO GOOD! This place is great, I love the Kinky and Resource roll. My husband and I have ordered to go many weekends, service is fast and friendly. Eating in was fair, need to work on service, pretty slow. I had to get up and find our server after waiting for a long time. I have not ordered in since, but I will try again, the food is worth it.

Recently I decided to give the whole sushi thing another try since prior, my taste-buds couldn't decide if it was for them or not. A coworker of mine took myself and a few others here for lunch a few weeks ago for the first time and I loved this place. It was quiet and since I'm kind of a loud-mouth I was initially caught off guard by it but it was a very nice atmosphere...chill, relaxed, friendly and all coinciding with great service. We ordered a herd of various sushi rolls but mainly the tuna rolls for myself and the new sales girl that was brought on board. The new associate and I were treated to a large bottle of warm sake, which I found to have a peculiar taste but ended up being to my liking as I haven't had sake enough to really acquire a taste for it but overall, this was lovely. Our food arrived quickly (which was surprising since it seemed we nearly ordered half the restaurant) and was visually stunning the way it was plated. The sushi was fantastic! I definitely plan on keeping this place in the back of my head for a future date night. If you like sushi and are in the Dublin vicinity, hit this place up.

We come here a lot, but we decided to get the sushi boat sampler, talk about amazing, $48 for 12 nigiri, 12 sashimi, and 2 sushi rolls! Great value and great flavors! If its summer make sure to get a seat on the patio but in the winter sitting at the bar is where it's at so you can check out all the sushi offerings.

Above expectation on grade of sushi and service. The owner and the staff are mega nice and friendly. The portions and servings are great. Had the Seafood Salad and Tofu for Appetizer. Good choices of spicy and sweet flavors. Sashimi Box for Dinner and the pieces are cut nice presented very well. Talk about fish being fresh and well prepared. What can I say for the price it is awesome place to eat. Going back and would suggest this place to everyone.

Poor service, lukewarm soup, and tasteless salad. Bibimbap bowl was cold. Then our server put his coat to leave, and left us having to ask someone for our checks. Don't think I will be back.

I'm giving them a good review for food, but poor for service and atmosphere. We've been there a few times, but the service just seems to be getting worse. Our last attempt we were there for an hour before our sushi and hibachi even arrived. The meals were fantastic, but there are lots of options with similar menus...that take far less time. It's also fairly small, too bright and VERY loud. The great food is they're only plus right now.

Worst sushi and service ever!!! After 1 1/2 hrs. We finally got or food and it was awful! Stay away at all costs!!!

Mix of traditional Japanese sushi, Americanized rolls, noodles, and Korean. I thought the sushi was fresh but the rice lacked flavor. I'm pretty picky about my sushi after having lived in Japan for five years. The edamae had brown stuff on them (I guess they weren't rinsed well). The agedashi tofu was nice. They give you a little dish of fruit at the end. I was hoping for more after reading the reviews but it's just a standard Japanese restaurant. Nothing special.

Very good sushi, especially for the price. I loved sitting outside with the lights and umbrellas. Our waitress was very knowledgable of the menu and specials. Only complaint was that the appetizer-grilled Chicken kabob with vegetables-was very tiny for the price and "vegetables" meant tiny pieces of bell pepper and onion. Not too big of a deal to be a deal breaker. I'd go again!

I would give them a 2 star based off just their Hibachi but since the sushi was phenomenal and it's called Mr. Sushi and not Mr. Hibachi I'll give it a 4 star! We got the Mr. Sushi boat. It was really good. The cuts of salmon, tuna and what I think was white tuna were fat and very good/fresh. Their spicy tuna roll had a great kick! Now my hibachi wasn't great - but it was not bad. The ginger sauce they served w it was really good, but it didn't come w yum yum sauce. I had steak and shrimp and forgot to tell the server I like the steak medium rare and he didn't ask so the steak was more well done than I like but again it was not badly cooked. The shrimp was tiny and a little over done but not much. The veggies were really good. To me it was more like an average stir fry - nothing like the amazing hibachi u get at an actual hibachi grill - but again this is a sushi place soooo - I'm not too concerned. I love sushi so we are excited to go back and try their different rolls. This is not a fancy plating and for show type place. It's pretty traditional sushi and I really appreciate that. We had a glass of champaign and Riesling to go w. The green tea sponge cake was really good. But they don't have green tea ice cream :( boo lol My date ordered a piece of fatty tuna. He loved it!

Everything about this restaurant was quite nice, but the radio station playing in the background ruined everything. Listening to traffic reports and radio advertisements made me feel as if I was trying to eat dinner off the dashboard of my car.

Excellent Sushi - I've been here a few times, the sushi is fresh. I always order Sashimi and I know its fresh compared to the other places I've had it. I wish they had more drinks on their menu. If you are not into Sashimi, try their speciality rolls. I also like their bibimbap.

After the initial lag of attention and service sitting at the bar, because I'm traveling alone, my waiter came over and introduced himself. All good. I just need attention. Due to my inquisitiveness, he offered a sample of the Seaweed Salad. It was crisp, fresh and delicious. Done. Give me one of those! After some questions, I settled on a Trust Me Roll. My beer, Asahi, is quite good too. Dry, smooth & refreshing. Definitely has some rice as it has a hint of saki flavor. Nice choice me. Trust Me Roll, Spicy Tuna, tempura crunch on the inside, Yellowtail, scallion, wasabi mayo, torched outside. Bring it on as my salad almost consumed. The roll is great. Surprisingly, the yellowtail is cooked. The beer, a second and colder one, is a perfect compliment. Stop the clock! My waiter saw my vulnerability and pushed me to have another thank you. So, my dessert is a smaller Hawaiian Roll. Ok, I'm weak. As a finale, I must say all was fantastic and for a very reasonable $30 check. Did I sell you on this place too?

Mr. Sushi is a wonderful little sushi restaurant in Dublin. We've dined in several times and just yesterday brought home some carry out. The service is quite good --- the staff is generally polite and helpful with any questions on the menu. The sushi is fresh and of high quality. Unless you are looking for high end Toro, you won't be disappointed. The portion sizes are quite good. For example, the mr. Sushi boat is an excellent deal, with a variety of sushi/sashimi offerings and rolls, and more than enough for two or even three adults. I've tried a variety of different rolls here and not been disappointed, except perhaps by their spicy tuna roll which was ok. This is a Korean owned establishment, but the sushi is served Japanese style. I haven't tried their Korean dishes, so can't comment. Their sake selection is limited, but I've always found good cold sake here. All in all a solid place with a reliable menu and consistent quality. Better than most places we've tried in the greater Columbus area.

In addition to their excellent Sushi and humble location in Dublin, the customer service here is beyond anything I have ever experienced. Probably the most friendliest waiters I have ever encountered and will accommodate you to whatever your needs! Highly recommended for any occasion!

I enjoy their sushi and bibimbap very much. The tofu appetizer and pork spring roll appetizers were very good last night. This is an affordable, comfortable place to sit and have a nice meal. The wait staff is always nice and helpful. Outside seating is available on a brick patio.

I was waiting for my order for two hrs, watching people who came after me receive their food first. After the food came and my son ate the first tuna roll I found a gross curly hair and showed the waiter. The promised call from the manager never came. The Manager contacted us two weeks after ,and was sincere with his regrets and apologies, providing us a full refund. I give him credit .

It has been hard to find sushi I look forward to around Columbus...until Mr Sushi! Super affordable, interesting menu, and a great patio. I look forward to visiting every time. Quick tips: -- pepper tuna marinated is super good, but you can't taste it in the roll - I would ask for it plain or pull it out so you can revel in the spiciness. -- I'm not a fan of any place's chopped up fish in spicy rolls because it seems suspect, but they will bring you a side of spicy mayo with your plain rolls :)

Miso soup and gyoza were good...otherwise, a huge disappointment for the following reasons: 1. Asked for negiri and received sashimi 1.a - scallop was gritty and had unfamiliar shell like bits throughout (likely not cleaned properly) 2. The super volcano roll was tasteless and sludge-like, slapped on top of an off-putting California roll...generally disgusting 3. Server forgot about us(no more than 3 tables with customers in the entire establishment) 4. Provided ketchup condiment cups for soy sauce...while this won't shock anyone, the sushi didn't fit *Restaurant comp'd our miso soup and a fountain drink... We won't be back.

I waited at the bar for 10 minutes for a server. No one came. This is not the first time that I've waited an excessively long time for lunch service, even though they are always less than half full. Bye! I don't know what else there is to say, but Yelp won't post this as a review unless it's longer.

Terrible service. Sushi is par at best. Waited an hour for food. Tables around us came and left while we waited for salmon sushi. Asked to speak to a manager and one never came out. Wrote to their online website and never got a response. We will never go back.

Very good sushi & very good service. I wouldn't consider this place the best in Columbus but it's pretty good for being right down the street. The Sushi / Nigiri was extremely fresh & flavorful. The ginger was fresh. Sake was the perfect temperature when served. Service was attentive & pleasant & the price was reasonable.

I was really looking forward to trying Mr. Sushi after reading these great reviews. However I was very disappointment by the tuna quality and texture. I ordered the engine #6 roll as well as spicy tuna and the texture of the tuna was very dry and lacked flavor. It was very mushy and tasted bland. It almost seemed it was bound with something to keep its shape on top of the rolls. The best part was when I walked in to order the waiter informed me that I was lucky to come in today because they had blue tail tuna in compared to whatever is used before. I'm no where close to a sushi snob but I just expected better flavor and textures from the ingredients at this type of restaurant.

I'm not sure who started it, but I've noticed a disturbing trend recently of the tuna filling in spicy tuna rolls being cut with tenkasu (little pieces of crunchy fried breading from tempura). I've noticed that Ronin and Blue Ginger also pulls that stunt in the area. If you add just a little bit, it adds a nice crunch to the spicy tuna roll. However, the proportion of tenkasu in my spicy tuna roll from Mr Sushi was so high that it might as well have been called a soggy tenkasu roll with spicy tuna flavoring. It's like a hamburger patty that's 50% bread crumb and 50% beef. Not cool. Also add that to the fact that the Dublin location of Mr Sushi charges a higher price compared to their Gahanna location, despite the menu being otherwise identical. Doubly not cool. To charge more but yet skimp so egregiously on the tuna? Boo. Next time I want a spicy tuna roll, I'll go to Akai Hana for their $6 spicy tuna roll with no tenkasu filling. It's worth the 50 cent upcharge from the $5.50 spicy tenkasu roll at Mr Sushi.

The sushi is pretty interesting here and by interesting I mean they are loaded with stuff. We tried a number of sushi and if they were either loaded with stuff on top or loaded with ingredients inside! So yeah, it's pretty filling. The only con is they didn't have a single plastic fork at this place when we asked for it for our take out, um what?! Maybe they ran out of it on that day? but then again it was in the afternoon. Oh well, better luck next time!

This wasn't the first time for me at Mr. Sushi, and it won't be the last either! My friend and stopped here for dinner after a showing of Godzilla (how stereotypically appropriate, right?) It was pretty late in the evening, around 9pm, and we were both pretty hungry. Despite it being so late though, the place was about half full, with some people sitting outdoors and some sitting indoors. As someone who loves sushi, I have actually never gotten a sushi boat, so I figured it was finally about time to do so! My friend and I split the Mr. Sushi Boat ($49.95), which included 12 sashimi, 12 nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, and a shrimp tempura roll. It was definitely more than enough for the both of us, and we triumphantly conquered the whole vessel. I think the chef was extra nice to us because our sashimi pieces were cut a tad thicker than I've usually seen (no complaints here!) Also, their spicy tuna roll had a much greater filling-to-rice ratio than I'm used to. The only negative thing I would have to say is that while I really enjoyed the taste of their sushi rice (not too vinegar-y), the stickiness was a bit off, as every time I picked up a piece of nigiri, the rice would fall apart. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Despite it being so late in the night, they didn't make us feel rushed to eat quickly and leave. As I said before, I'll definitely be back!

Saturday 9PM, I decided to grab dinner here instead of defaulting to my usual place around the corner. Yikes, looking back I wish I stuck with my original plan. This didn't feel like authentic sushi and I felt cheated. I should've been more weary when the staff kept insisting that everything was good. Compared to Ronin: it's a tie. Ronin's got the price point to better match their sushi. Miso Soup: Highlight of my meal. Good, strong flavor and overall got me excited for the meal forthcoming. That's about where the fun and excitement ends. Shrimp Tempura: The breading was light (barely darkened) color. Nowhere near the golden brown that I'm use to seeing on tempura. Had no flavor and I was desperately dipping the tempura into the sauce to hope for some enjoyment. Spicy Tuna Roll: As Kaoru mentioned, the added crunchy fried breading downgraded this roll big time. My roll was literally 50/50 sushi/crunch. Oh-My-God Roll - I agree with the staff that this roll was good... provided it was not drowning in sauce. Fish was good and the jalapeno on top added a kick but the sauce inside, outside, under made this roll feel so heavy. After packing my sushi in a to-go box, I lifted my plate and saw the sauce running. Green Tea tasted like flavored water.

While the sushi is excellent, the service could use some help. Our waiter couldn't keep us with refilling water, equipping us with appropriate utensils or bringing our order out correctly. Between that and the host/manager running around telling his staff to 'mingle more with the customers' it made for an interesting experience. Upon leaving, my father and husband both said the men's bathroom was vile. I hope this improves!

I tried out Mr. Sushi while visiting Columbus on a business trip. The staff was attentive and friendly and my sushi was fresh and delicious. They also have a full bar which is a nice plus. I would definitely come back on my next trip to Columbus.

Mr. Sushi was not actually at this location. Upon asking the staff when he would be in, I was informed he was "fictional". I immediately became frustrated because I had bet a friend $20 that the name meant there was a man made of sushi and not just a person whose last name was "Sushi". Staff was confused by my fear of styrofoam to-go boxes and my willingness to transport my leftovers via cargo short pockets, even in 90+ degree weather.

One of the best places in the Columbus area to get sushi. They have a large variety of rolls - raw and cooked or combination of the two. The few raw fish items I've had have already been fresh. I've been to both Gahanna location and this location, and they are consistent with their food. I think Gahanna may have better service, but that depends on the server. I also like how they have some cheaper rolls that are smaller portions so you can order two instead of one bigger one. It's nice to try new things! If you're in the area, I highly suggest checking either location out. It is up to par with some of my other favorite sushi places in Columbus. Being land locked and with an abundant amount of sushi places in Columbus, it's not easy to find a consistently good place when so many restaurants are trying to do it. Bet you'll try it here and come back!

Love this place the only one that I depend on being good it's like my safe spot when I get nervous trying other places I can depend on Mr Sushi being good like a comfort zone. It is very good I love the spicy tuna rolls and the shrimp tempura! Everyone is very nice

Good sushi! Love that they have a happy hour on Saturday! For some reason seems empty whenever we go?

Absolutely horrible service. We went for lunch and it took a half hour just for them to take our order. It took another half an hour to receive the order. The restaurant wasn't even a third full. They apologized for the delay but offered no discount. When the sushi did arrive, it was mediocre at best. For what you're paying for the sushi, the rolls shouldn't be falling apart. The flavor was alright. The best part was the miso soup, which was pretty good.

I cannot praise this place enough. The BEST sushi in Columbus. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it. This is the only place I'll get sushi in the city. And the staff is awesome, too!

What a great place to take a date/spouse it's small and perfect, a great setting. The food is wonderful I had the calamari rings fried in a tempura batter( a Japanese batter) a light fluffy batter and I got my wife hooked on the soft shell crab. U eat the entire crab, no cracking, no pulling, no mess. All hot apps are made in the back. What a great place they have a happy hour 2 dollar sam Adams and 4 dollar flat tires the flat tires are big bottles! Lol prices are good we were full al day after eating here, u won't be sorry!

The food here us really good. However the service is horrible. On mutiple visits wait staff has not written down part of our order. Today on visit. It took over 10 minutes to get a menu. After order was taken, the waiter came back 10 minutes later to ask questions about or order. It took him 10 minutes to enter our order after it was first taken. We sat at the bar a sushi boat set in front of us for over 20 minutes before it was picked up. Disappointed in the wait staff and slowness.

I've never hated a restaurant more! We went for restaurant week so it may have been busier than normal but we waited forever to be sat, have our order taken, and to get the food. We almost left before our entrees came out, which is something I have never even considered doing before, The food was not very good and was overpriced for what it was even during restaurant week. I was expecting a lot out of this place because I had heard good things, but I would never go back.

First time trying sushi. It was good but the plates seemed messy. There was crumbles or deep fried onions on top of three of the rolls we got out of four. However, since i didnt really know what i was ordering....i would have asked for that to be left off. Liked everything but the raw tuna. Cant get by that texture. The parking was not ideal. You have t park behind it and across the street.

Mr. Sushi does it right. With great specials on wine for $4 a glass it sure beats going next door to Mezzo where glasses start at $7. The service was great as they kept coming back to check on us (she did forget my water initially; though atleast kept the wine glass filled). The sushi was fresh and enjoyable. Got a sushi hand roll, I enjoyed it though it was different than normal. Normally everytime I have had a handroll it is pieces of the Salmon. Instead they mashed the salmon up almost like they do for tuna. I would rather have chunks of Salmon instead of mashed. That would be my only critique. I will be going back to Mr. Sushi for the wine and great prices overall.

Mr. Sushi is damn tasty, with consistent good service and great rolls. I hear they serve teriyaki here, but I come for the sushi, dammit. I've been here on a few occasions, from a small group to just a single friend and myself, from having a glass of wine, sharing sake, or sitting at the bar. Every damn time, it's been so good. This last time? I splurged. I got non-sushi sushi. I.E. it was made with filet and truffle oil. Holy shiitake, it was as delicious as it was untraditional.

Mr. Sushi is a reliable place to get good sushi in Dublin. Their shrimp tempura rolls are (according to my bf) the best in Columbus, and I really like their pine-tato (pineapple and sweet potato) roll. I wish the menu had some broader options, but the servers are great and it's always a comfortable dining environment. The patio is great for summer meals.

I've been here twice now with my book club, and have been pretty impressed overall with the food and whatnot. The place itself doesn't seem that large, but is actually well equipped for larger groups. There are a series of booths and a few larger tables that can seat 6+ people at a time, perfect for a gaggle of gossipy girls like us or a meeting of local business men. The booths can be a bit tight, but the high backs make it feel a lot more intimate and private which can be nice. There are smaller tables and a sushi bar for smaller groups or individuals. As to the food, it's good. The first visit I gave the seafood udon a try. Soothing and filling, it comes with plenty of fish, including squid tentacle and scallop. I'm not sure putting them in a soup is my favorite way to eat these ingredients (I prefer the texture of lightly fried squid and steamed scallops) but the items themselves were nice and meaty, and the broth had a nice flavor...something that can be sadly lacking in many Japanese\Korean restaurants' take on udon. The other time, I gave the fried gyoza a go. Though not exceptional, it was good and filling. Paired with a sushi roll (and bits of my friends' sushi rolls...), it made a nice meal. The tempura vegetables and shumae are also good, though I'm not sure I like that the latter are served -in- a broth, leaving them a bit... soggy... They have a nice flavor for that, though. The namesake sushi is pretty good - better than a lot of what you find in Ohio. Interestingly, though, a lot of the rolls don't really incorporate that much raw fish. Many involve tempura, baked fish/eel, or vegetables. For this reason, the sushi here is pretty accessible to the crowd who is still a bit wary of raw fish, or at least of raw fish in central Ohio. There is a range of sashimi and nigirizushi, though, for those who enjoy these flavors and textures. I personally don't mind the lack of raw fish in the rolls. I do like sashimi, but my favorite Japanese food is unagi (BBQ eel)... so putting it with delicious fried sweet potato as in the Black Forest Roll is perfect for me. This particular roll also comes with black tobiko (flying fish eggs) which gives it a sweet tanginess and ....I guess you'd call it a crunch...that is very nice. I have also tried the pine-tato roll which is sweet and light, though I do think I preferred the Black Forest with its heartier, heavier feel and texture. The spicy rolls, baked salmon, and Mr. Sushi rolls are also pretty good though I wouldn't order them for myself given a personal dislike of certain ingredients (spicy sauce and bonito flakes, namely). For the area, the prices on the rolls are reasonable and on par with other sushi shops I've been to. At the end of the meal, you are served a dish of melon and flavored geletin (dofu I think). I'm not a melon fan, but this is pretty good fruit and a nice palate cleanser. Meals also come with a ginger-dressing salad which is fresh and flavorful. Service is fine. Polite, fairly efficient given the size of our group, and accurate where the check was concerned. With a group in which everyone pays separately, that's always a bonus. Parking...well, you do have to find a parking space in downtown Dublin. Now, I never had any trouble in that regard, but I have been told that it can be quite a hassle at the more normal dinner hour. If it's a nice night, though, the area is pleasant enough to walk if you can only find a parking space further out.

I've been seeing someone at lunch. At first I thought it was a onetime hookup, but now I can't get enough of him, even though he is just using me for my money. His name is Mr. Sushi, and he lives on High Street in Dublin. Mr. Sushi used to have one establishment in Gahanna, and recently opened its doors in Dublin. The location is great: there is plenty of parking in the back lot unless a festival is going on, and the ambiance of the restaurant itself is a nice escape from boring suburbia: it is always busy, which I like, and which attests to how delicious the food is. I have always enjoyed the service at Mr. Sushi. It could be because I am a regular, or maybe the staff is just that helpful. The restaurant is clean, and I feel like the meals are prepared quickly. I love sitting at the sushi bar and watching the art of making sushi take place. Let's get to the food! There is a wide array of sushi options. I wish there was a sampler, because the price per entree portion is around 10-15 dollars. Granted, once you find the ones you like, you will feel like they are worth every penny, but it is difficult for someone who is trying sushi for the first time to develop into a repeat offender at those prices. If you are big thangs poppin' and can afford to try some of my suggestions they are as follows in order of preference: baked salmon rolls, shrimp tempora rolls, kinky roll, spicy scallop roll, 2004 roll and fantasy roll. If you're looking for something hearty and worth the price I recommend the baked salmon roll. If you're on a cheat day and want something a little naughty the shrimp tempora roll is a must. My only suggestion is the creation of a sampler! It's too expensive to try new rolls by paying for the entire entree, at least for myself. I uploaded some pics of the glory that is Mr. Sushi. If you're looking for a place close to home in Dublin that has a metro feel with far-east cuisine hit this place up--and just stick to the rolls, it's what they do best.

When I found out that the new BriHi building in Dublin was going to house a new sushi restaurant, I knew I had to check it out. This restaurant, the second Mr. Sushi in Columbus, opened in early 2011 across the street from Jeni's. I've been in a few times now and have to say that they have some fantastic sushi, although I can't comment on their Japanese cuisine. My first visit was a week night and there were only two tables seated. It was a slow night and the waiters were very attentive (the owner even came over to talk to us!). Of the sushi I tried that night, I have to say the Mr. Sushi roll and Baked Salmon roll were fantastic. I'd never tried a baked roll before, but it was absolutely delicious. Most recently I returned on a Friday night and the entire place was packed. There is a booth where you can seat two people side by side and I was afraid I would be stuck there awkwardly next to me friend, fortunately I swindled my way into a larger table. I'm sad to say that this adventure had poor service. I realize that the every table was seated, but I expected more attention from my server (because my water glass shouldn't be empty, ever, I like my water). This time we tried the Trust Me, Louisiana, and a deep fried roll. Everything was again delicious. The crawfish paired surprisingly well with avocado. I'd say that this is definitely one of the better sushi restaurants in the Columbus area, and it doesn't hurt that it is just down the road. The only slight critique I have is that the rolls seem to be light on the rice, but that doesn't hinder the flavor all too much. If you are hoping to go on a Friday or Saturday, I'd suggest making a reservation. They may be abnormally busy because they just opened, but it never hurts to be safe.

I'm so continually underwhelmed with Mr. Sushi I'm not even sure how to write this review. I've been here 10 or so times since they opened. I can remember the old days as I'd be over at Dublin Tavern, Oscars or Brazenhead watching this whole area blossom before my eyes and fantasize about the wonderful new eateries that would soon arrive. My heart yearned for some more delicious options in the Dublin area, and my poor heart breaks each time I eat here. But I keep returning...could it be they are the only sushi patio that's conveniently close to me? Yes. Anyway, I decided tonight was THE last night. Absolutely done. If friends want to go here I'll stay home and order a pizza. After the 1/2 of my dinner I ate, I stared longingly over at Domino's and Donato's across the street wondering what kinds of yummies I could get for the $30 I spent here tonight. I could get wings, cheesy bread, pizza and a 12 pack of beer--which is always a five star meal. Paying for bad food makes me SAD ;'-( Here's the problem: quality. The sashimi is not good. I started off with a nigiri appetizer which consisted of 4 pieces of nigiri (pictured). You CHEW-CHEW-CHEW-STICK FINGERS IN MOUTH PULL OUT SINEWS-CHEW CHEW CHEW SOME MORE-SPIT INTO NAPKIN-REPEAT PROCESS. The fish is just not good quality. We both spit a lot of bites out. And, two pieces of my nigiri had started to *barf* harden/crystalize and had a crunchy texture because, this happens when fish is NOT fresh or when it's sitting OUT exposed to the open air. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining, Mr. Sushi! This isn't fresh fish! The salad was good. They have really good ginger dressing here. The tempura is good, although the chicken tempura I started with never came out. For the main event I had a philadelphia roll and a "kinky roll." The salmon in the Philadelphia roll was so bad I had to do something I abhor: complain and have it taken off my bill. I can't even explain it. I was eating with a buddy who's not picky at all and eats anything and he turned green when he started chewing. The kinky roll was fair. The tempura crab stick in the middle of the roll had a heavy, greasy oily taste and feel that was slightly stomach turning. Everything was served tonight Flintstones style--BAM BAM. One plate is set down and before you begin eating you have BAM-BAM everything out at once, one thing after the other. I don't like this--I like to linger. One plate at a time. Let me finish my salad, then bring my appetizer, then bring my entree. They should not be all in front of me at the same time. On a night like tonight when it's not busy this is in their best interest as I would have had more drinks had service been at a normal pace. They serve a "dessert" to everyone which is a small bowl of fruit. I don't like fruit, but I eat it because I hate food being wasted. I wish they'd ask before they bring it out and I always forget because it comes out so fast. Here's what I like here: the stone pot is good. This is a winter dish for me though. The patio is awesome--right on the corner of Bridge and High. The patio is what I would refer to as idyllic. Being that it's Memorial Day weekend it was just that--idyllic. Made me feel extremely fortunate and proud to be living in such a beautiful area and to have the freedom to eat here and have food on the table thanks to so many folks that have made it possible. My cold sake was cold and refreshing. And most importantly, the service was super friendly and I was in really good company. Life was wonderful tonight, the sushi not so much.

Sushi is something I crave ferociously. No other food really has this hold on me. Anyways, went here w/ a friend, both our first time here. We sat on the patio (we were the only ones at first, but to be fair it was oppressively hot and humid that evening). We were surprised not more people were there considering how packed neighboring restaurant patios were. Anyways, our server was either new and really inexperienced or taken aback by both mine and my friend's beauty, because he was super awkward and unsure of himself. They didn't really have a wine menu apparently? But only had like 2 wines. It was a really bizarre convo. And apparently they didn't have a liquor license but had been open for 6 months? Again, really bizarre so we ordered a glass of reisling each because there really wasn't any other wine option! Chances are if/when I dine again w/ Mr. Sushi I won't get this same server again so I don't hold it against them, but I am providing my rating based upon my experience, not what I think will happen in the future. The most important thing is they have good sushi w/ fun rolls! I don't remember any of the names, but we had 4 total that we split: one w/ sweet potato (I love sweet potato anything), one w/ mango (our first time experiencing this - seems to be an upcoming trend at sushi places), one I don't remember what was so special about it but I'm sure we loved it, and finally one w/ FRIED BANANA and coconut shavings on top. Trust me, it tasted waaaaay better than it sounds. It was really enjoyable to try these sweeter tasting rolls. The fried banana one would even make a great dessert on a hot date :) Prices were typical sushi prices - a tad more than I would have liked to have spent and they don't stuff the rolls as much as I like them (I like it when you have to decided whether or not you can eat a piece in one bite, or if it will need 2).

I've been to Mr. Sushi twice, and I had a very positive experience both times. The outdoor patio is great, the prices are reasonable, the sushi is good, and the staff is really attentive and friendly. I tend to judge japanese restaurants on their miso soup: a restaurant with watered-down miso soup is probably going to be cutting corners everywhere else. Mr. Sushi has miso soup that is as good as anything I ever had in Japan. I had a large variety of sashimi on both visits, and it was all very good quality. The uni I had was extremely fresh (it tasted like it had just come out of the ocean), and they have a great rainbow roll (especially since it wasn't filled with that cheap mayonnaise sauce that so many sushi chefs bastardize their sushi with). All in all, I definitely plan on going back a third time.

As a business neighbor, I have enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Mr Sushi on a regular basis. The portions are generous, The quality is consistently excellent and the atmosphere is great! I recomend Mr. Sushi to many of my clients and have heard only great reviews.

My friend and I went to Mr Sushi for lunch on the recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place to anyone for lunch. It looked promising when we first got there as the atmosphere was nice and it looked clean. We got seated promptly in a booth and put our orders in. I played it safe by ordering the 2 roll special for lunch - California roll and Spicy Tuna roll. My friend ordered the California roll and another roll, I can't remember which. When they first brought out our food they didn't bring any wasabi - we had to ask for it. The server never asked my friend if he needed a refill on his drink either, he had to ask for it. They served drinks out of cans so he decided to get a water so he wouldn't have to keep paying for his drink (they never said this to begin with). My sushi was about the worst I had ever tasted. I would have rather had kroger sushi to be honest. Neither of my rolls had any flavor and they actually tasted burnt. No idea how they could have tasted burnt. I think it may have been the seaweed roll. The soy sauce didn't taste good at all but the ginger was fresh and good. I'm not sure how you can have bad tasting soy sauce but they pulled it off. The roll my friend got that I can't remember the name of tasted alright. Two funny stories about what happened when I was there - first, I leaned back and the booth seat actually started tilting into the booth behind me! Thank goodness there wasn't anyone there for me to smash against their table. Second, when we were sitting there waiting for our server to give us the check, my friend says "did you know there's a spider web attached to your shoulder and the ceiling?". I couldn't believe it, but there was. We laughed it off because we had been waiting so long for our check. After we got served our food, the server never came back, not even once. We waited about 15 minutes AFTER we finished our meals and had to go up to the front to pay. I'm not sure if they were unexpectedly busy for lunch but there were many unfilled tables. My friend said this is the first time in his life he did not leave a tip. He said he tips on bad service but here the service was non-existent. Hopefully dinner service is better than this but I can tell you for sure that I will not be going back for lunch or dinner.

Came here for lunch just before heading home from a successful business trip. Shared a dragon roll and a spicy shrimp tempura roll with my colleague. I downed a lunch special tendon also. The dragon roll was excellent with great flavor, texture, and a great spicy kick. The spicy shrimp tempura was not spicy at all. Maybe they forgot the spicy mayo(?). Nevertheless, is was tasty. My tendon was good with a nice sweet flavor. With a small salad and a miso soup, I was quite full...

Pretty standard sushi. Fast service. Lunch special (2 rolls for $8) is a pretty decent deal. Free salad and soup if you eat in.

I have to give this 5-stars because it is by far my favorite sushi place in Columbus. Love that they now have the Dublin location. My favorite roll is the 2004 - flipping AWESOME. Also love the Spicy Tuna. Is it bad that its almost midnight and now I"m craving a 2004 roll??? Hmmm may have to make a pit stop there tomorrow for lunch. Give it a try, it's definitely a great place. Fresh sushi, lots of other menu offerings. My friend got this smelly, sticky fermented soybean stuff that you couldn't have paid me to try. The waitress was shocked because she said not many people order it (ME). My friend really liked it but again - the 10 foot pole comparison comes to play for me here. The service is always really fast too and the sushi is presented very nice and organized. I would suggest going to just order a few different rolls amongst friends and sampling each others - that's the fun part of "doing sushi". I used to like Blue Ginger, but Mr. Sushi takes the cake....errr I mean the sushi in my book.

Nice little ambiance...great service & staff. The sushi was really good - better than expected, considering I'm kinda a sushi snob. Would definitely come back again. One of the top 2 Sushi places in Dublin

Parking was kind of confusing for this place. we ran into a few one-way streets, and the parking is in a lot behind the store, so you couldn't easily see it. After that minor frustration,we lightened up once we stepped into the restaurant. The place had a nice, clean and modern look; lots of wood and bamboo decor. The hostess fulfilled my request for a booth, and so we got a nice roomy booth that could fit up to 8 people haha. Anyways, the server got us waters right away, which was nice. We got our sushi orders in, and our appetizers came out about 5 minutes later. However, we had to wait around 20 minutes for our sushi to come out, which surprised me because there were only 3 other tables there. But I guess I did order the baked salmon roll, so that might have been the reason. Once we got our sushi, it was well worth the wait because the presentation was wonderful. The sushi was good, but nothing extraordinary. Their spicy tuna was above average and had a crunch to it. The baked salmon roll was my least favorite. I got it because I saw a few people say on here that the baked salmon roll was *the* thing to get, so I really wanted to try it out. However, I didn't like the cooked fish taste. The whole roll had salmon on top, then it was baked, so the fish was cooked. The roll just didn't have a refreshing feel to it. My boyfriend's Engine 6 roll was great, but you can't really go wrong with shrimp tempura with spicy tuna on top. The Volcano Roll was okay. I didn't like it, but my boyfriend liked it because it tasted "different". Overall, everything was great. I only gave this place 4 stars because the parking was annoying and the sushi wasn't *amazing*. There are a few better restaurants in columbus, such as Sushi-En or Akai-Hana. But the service was good and everything was nice to look at, and we both left with very full and satisfied stomachs. The check ended up being around $66 dollars before tip for 3 people, and that included 5 rolls, an appetizer, and two drinks. We'll probably be back again, but probably only to try the rest of their interesting menu.

One of my favorite sushi spots in Ohio.

(5)John P.
(4)Lori B.
Poor service, lukewarm soup, and tasteless salad. Bibimbap bowl was cold. Then our server put his coat to leave, and left us having to ask someone for our checks. Don't think I will be back.
(1)Michael L.
(3)Matt B.
Worst sushi and service ever!!! After 1 1/2 hrs. We finally got or food and it was awful! Stay away at all costs!!!
(1)Valerie R.
(3)Shonna T.
(4)Lindsey B.
(4)Andy R.
Everything about this restaurant was quite nice, but the radio station playing in the background ruined everything. Listening to traffic reports and radio advertisements made me feel as if I was trying to eat dinner off the dashboard of my car.
(2)Julia T.
We had the caribbean and the resource roll. Delicious and also pretty reasonable. Parking can be a hassle though.
(4)William S.
Excellent Sushi - I've been here a few times, the sushi is fresh. I always order Sashimi and I know its fresh compared to the other places I've had it. I wish they had more drinks on their menu. If you are not into Sashimi, try their speciality rolls. I also like their bibimbap.
(4)Bob C.
(5)Mike G.
One of the top places to go for sushi around town. Great prices, great food. Great staff. Plenty of choices to chose from. They actually help you out of you need it when ordering.

(4)Ravi B.
In addition to their excellent Sushi and humble location in Dublin, the customer service here is beyond anything I have ever experienced. Probably the most friendliest waiters I have ever encountered and will accommodate you to whatever your needs! Highly recommended for any occasion!
(5)Paige H.

Very fresh sashimi and tasty sushi rolls! Love here and highly recommend Trust Me Roll and the Baked Salmon Roll!
(5)Matthew B.
Easily the best Sushi in Columbus. The Salmon is ridiculously good...
(5)Alan S.

(5)Ryan T.

(5)Toni C.
Love this place the only one that I depend on being good it's like my safe spot when I get nervous trying other places I can depend on Mr Sushi being good like a comfort zone. It is very good I love the spicy tuna rolls and the shrimp tempura! Everyone is very nice
(4)Kaitlin H.
Good sushi! Love that they have a happy hour on Saturday! For some reason seems empty whenever we go?
(4)John B.
(1)Tara L.
I cannot praise this place enough. The BEST sushi in Columbus. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it. This is the only place I'll get sushi in the city. And the staff is awesome, too!
(5)Dave S.
(4)christin b.
I love this place! Great sushi and good serves. Never had a problem. Always left/leave happy and satisfied! It's hard to find good sushi in Columbus. So tasty!
(5)Jodi P.
(3)K B.
Great sushi, was very full at lunchtime today. Have a lovely seafood salad and if you like a bit of heat try out the Volcano Roll. Extensive menu.
(5)Jasmine M.

Favorite sushi place in Columbus. We recently moved to Richmond and have to visit Mr Sushi every time we're back in town. Favorites are Kinky roll and Super Volcano
(5)Bonachella K.
(4)Cecilia C.
(5)Keith B.
(5)Sarah F.

Awesome sushi, salad and miso with lunch, nice servers, incredible salmon... Yeah, this place rocks...

(2)Laura C.
(3)Erik A.
(4)Alan R.
As a business neighbor, I have enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Mr Sushi on a regular basis. The portions are generous, The quality is consistently excellent and the atmosphere is great! I recomend Mr. Sushi to many of my clients and have heard only great reviews.
(5)Nick C.

(3)Alex S.
Absolutely delicious! The carribean roll was to die for. I would come here every week if I lived in this city!
(5)Andrew B.
Pretty standard sushi. Fast service. Lunch special (2 rolls for $8) is a pretty decent deal. Free salad and soup if you eat in.
(3)Megan K.
(5)Adam K.
