Food was ok. I enjoyed my dish but not worth what I paid for it. I feel like since it is so new it is really disorganized. We waited over an hour for a table even though we had reservations. The host staff was rude. Our server only checked in on us twice. However excellent bar tenders. Very friendly and made the evening worth it. Also plan on valet parking. The parking is hard to come by.

Great location, great atmosphere, and good food. Went out last week with some friends and wanted to try this place since seeing it from sitting at Mr Sushi. You walk in with bar to your left and then stairs to get to more seating (which is were we went.) As others have said this is the only stairs that get from the kitchen (upstairs) to bar area (downstairs) which I would think in the busiest of nights would make for some drama but didn't really affect us as we sat in the corner overlooking Bridge & Dublin Rd. Had a nice wine list for those wine drinking and a nice set of appetizers. We ordered their assortment of fried items which included zucchini, calamari, peppers and i think anything else they wanted to fry in the back which also came with these delicious dipping sauces. Got a wedge salad that was covered in blue cheese just the way I like it. For my entree I decided to for go for a pizza and was not disappointed. The crust was a little dry but the cheese and chicken were so good it made up for it. The reason for the 3 star rating is everyone else wasn't as excited about their dinner as I was. Pasta dishes weren't very large and not much flavor to them but all in all it was a good dinner. Def will be making it back for another dinner get together

We came here on Saturday night celebrating a birthday with a group of 7. LOVED the ambiance, the location is great and there is free valet but we had no problems finding parking. We were lucky enough to score a semi private room downstairs which is kind of like a little alcove. I ordered the caprese salad to start which was delicious and the scallops for dinner. The scallops were amazing but the risotto that came with them was just ok, it lacked a bit of flavor. My husband ordered the mushroom ravioli which was delicious as well. Our server was really good; she made great recommendations and for a decent sized group was always available. Restaurant wasn't too crowded for a Saturday but I would still recommend making reservations. We will definitely be back and hopefully sit out on the amazing patio before it gets too cold.

I am really surprised this place doesn't get higher reviews... Excellent service, great appetizers, good cocktails, nice design... Loved the ravioli and risotto starters. Best cheesecake I've ever had by far!!! The waiter recommended the scallops and although cooked perfectly, lacked flavor (the only reason I gave it a 4). Overall excellent experience and would gladly come back! Really good experience- would recommend.

Ok, so I feel like I paid a lot for bland cheesy potato balls & meat balls & so so cabernet. The food, while well presented lacked taste which is something I prefer my food have. The best part of my night was the slightly awkward bearded cute waiter.

I thoroughly enjoy visiting Mezzo. The atmosphere is excellent! The decor is eclectic and upscale. We enjoy all of the menu offerings. I often recomend Mezzo to my friends and clients. Mezzo is a great addition to the Dublin Historic District.

Great experience! Recently had a date night. The decor is trendy, yet rustic. The service was friendly, timely, and consistent. The food was delicious. My wife and I both had the fixed menu: salad, entree, and dessert for $20. Our bill was $60 with drinks and tip! Great experience...we will be back!

Love this place. I used to go to one in Gahanna so I was excited to see one open in Dublin. Love the food, love the atmosphere and love the service. Absolutely perfect for romantic dinner! Awesome wine selection and great food!

We had a girls night recently at the Mezzo in Dublin. First, some of us had a hard time finding parking. Mezzo does have valet but no one saw it from the road...and there were no signs. Finally we made it to the bar for drinks. They have some great happy hour specials. After a bit we went to our table, a nice round table upstairs. Our waiter mentioned the drink special till 7pm was $2 off any drink including cocktails. Nice that they have specials in the dining area too, but weird that it's different from the bar specials...at the bar cocktails were half off. Not sure if the waiter told us wrong... 2 girls ordered Sangria and suddenly the waiter started pushing sangria on everyone. "they're getting sangria, is that what you want too?" And it wasn't said in a friendly way. We soon ordered. He messed up the salad order, but fixed it right away, but then asked us whose order he should put the extra salad on. Uhh, YOU messed up and brought an extra one, not us! Luckily he dropped that one quick. One of the girls had to leave early and took the server receipt by mistake. The waiter noticed her error and was so mad. I understand his frustration, but his reaction to it was so bizarre. He wanted us to call her, kept going on about it. If he would have just casually told us her mistake we would have given him her $2.50 tip. Instead his attitude forced us to reconsider our own tips to him, and he obviously didn't get great tips from anyone. What's sad is that we all enjoyed the food but the waiter ruined our experience and we never want to go back.

My husband and I and 3 other couples ate upstairs during the first week Mezzos Dublin was open. It was attractive and lively. We liked the ambiance although the noise level was pretty robust. I ordered the Capellini and it was very good. My husband ordered the Linguine de Mezzo and it was quite ordinary. Not what you would expect from a signature meal. Two people ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, and that looked delicious. Nice amount and well presented. Have to say that I like the Gahanna Mezzo better, but they are certainly more established.

My husband and I popped in for appetizers and drinks. The service was top notch, very attentive and friendly! The food was absolutely amazing! We had a pizza and truffle fries. They were big portions and was a perfect amount to share while enjoying our drinks. The price was surprisingly reasonable we went during happy hour so it was a deal!

I went here once for a work party and the food was totally whatever. Nothing stood out as being particularly great. Way over priced for what you get. There are plenty of Italian fine dining choices in Columbus. I would look elsewhere. However, the pumpkin martini was amazing. So the drinks might not be too bad.

Well, they've had a month to get organized. That seems like enough time... Caveat: I will come back here, even with a not so great rating. They have definite potential...but they're nowhere near the top mark yet. If you're looking for a good Happy Hour, come here. 1/2 off all mixed drinks, and they have a decent drink menu(martinis, classics, etc., ~$5 each during HH.) Plus, on Mondays, they have a wine tasting menu that consists of 5 wines for $12...and they're ridiculously healthy pours. For starters, we sat for ~10 minutes before we were given any service, and then only because he asked us if we needed anything. We ordered drinks for HH, and they messed up the order; switched my drink with someone else, forgot the "dirty" part of the "dirty" martini. None of our apps were stand-out; the caprese salad had "homemade" mozzarella, but it was poorly executed (I've made much better in my kitchen.) For entrees, the eggplant was somehow sweetened, my pork was lacking in flavor, the duck was well done. For a $$$-type place, I'd expect much, much better execution. I'm going to give them a month to get the house in order, and I'll be back to hopefully re-review. The space is great, the menu sounds like it should be inspired...they just need to get past the goal line. Hell, right now, they need to get past mid-field.

My husband and I visited Mezzo in Dublin for the first time for lunch on a Friday. We were immediately impressed by the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff. I ordered a sandwich (love that they offer roasted cauliflower as a substitute for fries!) and my husband ordered pasta. Our food seemed to be taking a long time but we were not in a hurry so we didn't think much of it and didn't inquire. The manager eventually came over and said that something on one of our orders was over-cooked so they were remaking it because they wanted it to be 'perfect'. She also offered us a dessert. The food was good but the attentiveness of the staff was what was more remarkable about our visit. Each of the waitstaff checked in on us at least once - they all seemed to be covering each others tables. Our first experience at Mezzo in Dublin was an excellent one - we will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I went to Mezzo for our anniversary on 11/23/13. We had been this past February for Valentine's Day and had a lovely meal then. This visit was just the same! We had a free appetizer card from another business, and got the fruit and cheese plate, which was light, flavorful, and beautifully displayed. The atmosphere was perfect and our server was kind and helpful, even though the restaurant was quite busy. We both ended up ordering the cavatelli--fresh pasta, basil pesto cream sauce, grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes, pine nuts, broccoli, and parmesan. It was wonderful, and decently priced for a dish that filled me up and had more than enough for leftovers! I really do enjoy Mezzo, and even though the olive oil tasted a bit off this time, we will be back!

Mezzo is one of the best upscale Italian restaurants to go to here in Dublin. Great location. They have complimentary valet so you don't have to worry about the parking. The ambiance is delightful, it has low lighting, without being too dark, lot's of room for large groups and private dining with contemporary decor. Large wine collection and great food selection. Excellent service and very friendly staff. For starters we had the arancini and fritti. Then I ordered the caprese salad which was very tasty, dry-aged pork chop for dinner and a glass of red wine to go with. Delicious!! I also got to try their Pumpkin Pie Martini. Omg it was yummy, so rad. If only I had a designated driver I would probably got me another one. =) Got the wild mushroom ravioli to go too since heard a lot of good things about it and it was awesome. It was my first time here on a Thursday night and WOW they were busy which is always a good sign. Even though it was busy, we still had an outstanding service. Food was great, well prepared and on time and we didn't have to wait long. Had an amazing time and will defiantly go back. I highly recommend Mezzo for anyone who wants to have a great time and experience a good Italian dining. Nice place for date nights, social gathering and more..

Italian food is probably my favorite type of food. That being said, I'm critical. Mezzo has a great atmosphere. Low lighting, romantic, warm and inviting decor. The drink list is fabulous- from wine to cocktails. On Thursdays they have half off a bottle of wine night- bringing the bottles much closer to retail price and considering the markup, you'll want to take advantage of the half off. The food is where I have an issue. It's sub-par. Really sub-par. Dinner was a bit expensive for what it was. Flavors are lackluster and just bland. Overall I'd say appetizers are pretty good, so I'd definitely come back here for appetizers and drinks. I ordered the meatballs as an appetizer- those were decent. My friend had fried risotto balls and those were also pretty good. Dinner was expensive for rubbery pasta, bland sauce and filling in the ravioli, and ingredients that just didn't have any flavor. I was shocked to get a $50 bill (just for me alone!) with only 1 glass of wine and no dessert. My friend ordered the lasagna and she mentioned it was only meh. Not terrible but also just not great. I'd go back for drinks and apps and the location is great for people watching. But I'd definitely skip dinner next time.

I've had a few business lunch meetings at this place and it's great! In some cases my meetings have run long and they've allowed us to stay even though they're closed between lunch and dinner. The service is great, the location is great and the cavatelli is amazing!!

I will start out with the positive. Mezzo in Dublin is a fabulous place to grab a drink with some friends. The happy hour drink specials are very reasonably priced and good, too. The patios (they have 3 of them) are amazing. I've also sat at the inside bar and the atmosphere is really cool. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Now for the negative. I have been to the Dublin location on 2 separate occasions. I am not a picky eater by any means but the food was awful. On one of my visits I ordered the caesar salad with chicken. The presentation was ok but it tasted like crap. The lettuce was soft and on the verge of looking wilted. The chicken was ok but not worth the extra charge for adding it to the salad. My friend ordered arancini and caprese salad. I tasted the arancini and it was ok, however, my friend said the risotto was awful. She also did not have anything good to say about her salad. To sum it up, I would go back to Mezzo for drinks with friends and to hang out on the patio. I do not plan on ever ordering any food there again.

I've been meaning to write an update about Mezzo. I've been here for drinks quite a few times since writing the review. I still don't eat the food here, but I have to say that the service at the bar is top-notch. Even though I'm not a regular by any means, they remember you. The atmosphere is just perfect for some laid back drinks or to sip on some wine. Recently we went here after dinner at Nicola (my new favorite Italian) for drinks and dessert. The dessert was not good, I had the flourless chocolate cake/torte and I've had better, much like everything else on the menu. But, you can't beat the service and atmosphere. Stop in for a drink at the bar, you won't be disappointed.

During my trip to Columbus, I visited this restaurant. When I first sat down at the bar I decided that I loved this place. It had a great feel to it. I loved the architecture of the building and appreciated the lighting fixtures and all of the nuances that made this restaurant feel so beautiful. The people around the bar all seemed to be having fun and there were smiles all around us. I know it sounds cheesy but people want to feel like they are a part of the classy party and on a Friday night this place will feel like you are on the VIP list. At the bar we looked at the wine list. I hate to say it but most Italian restaurants have kind of a crappy wine list for the above average wine snob. This place was no different. There was really nothing to fantastic we could get in a glass. We order an okay glass of red and accepted for being just that. As far as the food goes, I would say that it was okay. We only order appetizers so I am not too sure I can say much. I would tell a friend to skip on the meatballs. They were nothing to write home about so I would say unless you really want to try them you are better off if you do not. However, the flat bread pizza was super yummy. I was very happy with how the mushroom pizza tasted. If you want to be safe I would say this is a good choice. Overall I had a great time here. The service was great and the people at the bar were fun. I would come back and order a different plate and probably try ordering a fancy martini or something. But I will be back.

Mezzo is a solid restaurant in the trendy uptown Dublin. I would lump this spot into the "fancy" category, but it is affordable. The ambiance is nice, and the service is exceptional. I have a hard time separating Mezzo against other similar options, but that's not to discredit it - it's a good place to dine if you're making a night in historic Dublin.

I was most recently here this last Wednesday for an 8PM reservation. My wife had just received her first speeding ticket after 12 years of driving (welcome to the world, dear), and it was my night to cook (didn't feel like it), so I took her out to cheer her up. So nice of me! It is what it is. Downtown surburban people-watching while sipping down a bottle of wine. The restaurant itself is nice. With that said, I'll enjoy anywhere with a patio so that I can enjoy the breeze and the sunset. The waitstaff has always been extremely pleasant and helpful when we visit. In fact, they were easily able to accomodate a change in our reservation when we needed to move outside due to unforeseen reasons (a psychotic coworker who conveniently showed up and circled our pre-dinner Starbucks twice, proceeded to make out in front of our window and then continue on toward Mezzo. This made for a completely interesting night...but I digress). The food is ok. Not terrific, but certainly not terrible. Completely typical of the downtown Dublin "strip," both in price and quality. There is certainly something on the menu that you will find that you would want to order again. Unfortunately, nothing really sets Mezzo apart from other restaurants in its tier. As others have said, this is a great place to share drinks with friends. I feel the best way to describe Mezzo is that people visiting from out of town would absolutely love the place. However, personally, living just down the street detracts from some of it's charm. It is definitely a capable middle tier restaurant that can hold it's own, but if I want a true date night experience, I'm probably going to choose somewhere that offers a bit more allure. But I know I'll definitely return for casual dining and half-priced wine.

A gal pal and I decided to hit up their wine tasting event they host on Monday nights. Like smart 20-something childless lassies we are, we went on Halloween/trick-or-treat night. Woo hooo not crowded! We had walked in here once before after dinner elsewhere and were overwhelmed by how crowded it was. The wine tasting, per person, is $12 for 5 pours which I would guess ended up being like 1 1/2 glasses. So it's not a total rip off. We ended up buying a bottle of one of the wines as they offered special pricing. I mean $7.99 for a BOTTLE? YES PLEASE. They will re-cork it for you if you don't finish, but we aren't amateurs so of course we finished it. There is a representative from the wine place who does your pours and gives you the education scoop on what you're drinking. My friend and I were more interested in getting our drink on and catching up w/ one other than learning about each wine we guzzled down, but thankfully the wine lady did a good job and wasn't too intrusive or lingering. As for food, we split the calamari, shrimp, zucchini appetizer. Can't really screw up anything that's being deep fried but not sure the amount that they give you warrants $10. We also split the chicken pizza w/ some fancy sounding cheese. The pizzas are meant to be split as they're quite big. I think it was $11 which was totally reasonable given the size. The entrees are where the big bucks are at, if that's what you're coming here for. If I return again on a Monday night, I am going to see if I can just buy a specially priced bottle of wine off of the wine tasting menu without purchasing the $12 wine tasting. Nothing wrong w/ circumventing every now and then.

Made our 2nd visit tonight and still giving it a 5. Tried the bbq wild boar & baked chevre appetizers. Both were great, but the boar stole the show. Our party had the pork tenderloin, lasagna, eggplant napoleon, & chicken milanese. Not one bad thing to say.

Mezzo, I am disappointed. This past Restaurant Week found us traveling up to Dublin to Mezzo for dinner. Crazy traffic, to be expected. Valet parking, very welcome. The restaurant is huge, with a bar area, off-bar area, and side dining. This makes for a very cool and open look, and with large windows looking out onto the patio and streets, it breaks up the dark wood and dim lighting well. Definitely plush. Our server was friendly and able to answer our questions as we ordered drinks and RW choices. Appetizers (house salad, Mamma D's sausage soup) were tasty, and we were excited for our entrees to arrive, anticipating outstanding dishes. This is where the story breaks down, however. While the spouse's chicken Milanese was flavorful (crispy-fried chicken, asiago-stuffed gnocchi with a sweet pepper cream sauce), my mahi-mahi was a bit like eating a soft, dense sponge - not recommended. Once out of orzo and mango-pineapple salsa, my course was over. During our meal, we were served by various and sundry staff, who seemed to be a mix of runners, hostesses and other wait staff, as well as our ordering server. It felt chaotic, hurried, and tough to get the attention of any one person. We are super low-maintenance, and it was easy to tell that being that way left us unattended. This came to a head when dessert was served. A few minutes following the clearing of our plates and ordering coffee, our desserts were dropped off and we were left with mouths open and hands up for a) forks and b) our requested coffee. Instead, we were left with one spoon to share between our two lackluster sweets and our coffee arrived with the check. Easily, dinner could have merited three stars if the details had been executed (check in at the start of the entree course, dessert forks and coffee). Also, had we realized that the RW portions were smaller than the regular menu, we would have happily spent the difference for full menu options. Our server was vocally surprised that my fish was a "full portion" and looked a bit worried about that. Maybe I saved another diner from spongy fish fail, who knows. Mezzo joins several other Old Dublin establishments in being long on style and short on substance, sorry to say.

Unforgivably bad. Restaurant was half empty yet a lobster wrap and a chicken pasta required almost an hour. Several times the manager walked past our table and did nothing about my empty water glass or my fiance's empty Bellini, neither did our server. The toilet in the men's room was unusable due to . . . let's just say unusable. Between the hostess stand and the restroom were 4 servers standing around doing nothing right next to 3 overflowing bus tubs of dirty dishes. My chicken cavatelli was listed as $12 on the brunch menu, yet we were charged the dinner price of $17. Through all of this no one ever even apologized for the wait or the empty glasses, much less offered to take anything off the bill to compensate for the fact that lunch for two in, as I said, a half empty restaurant, required almost an hour to prepare which of particularly unforgivable when my chicken and my fiance's lobster were cooked in advance and simply tossed in sauce to plate! Moving on to the food itself, both dishes were relatively bland and uninteresting and the pasta on my plate was overcooked.

Booking reservation on Yelp was flawless. Good atmosphere. Staff was prompt and friendly. Food was overpriced, but good. Overall meal and experience was good. However, with final cost of $180, for two people in a 35min visit, it left something to be desired. Will likely not return.

Just spent the evening at Mezzo, celebrating my birthday with friends. Sorry J. Alexander's... Mezzo is my new favorite restaurant. I do love food, and tonight Mezzo served up some of the best Italian food I've ever had. We all tried the pizzas and I stole more than just a sample of my wife's lasagna. It was all incredible! We also had some new beers, a fancy new cocktail I can't remember at the moment, and some great wine. But it wasn't just the food that made it great. It was the staff. We were visited often by our waiter (which is to be expected), and more than once by other passing staff and the manager, all anxious to make our visit a pleasant one. The atmosphere was amazing as always. We might of been a bit loud at our table as we celebrated, but it didn't seem out of place. No one complained. :-) Great food is only made better by a world class staff. And it's the combination of the two that make it a world class restaurant. Bravo Mezzo! We'll see you again soon.

This is an upscale Italian restaurant in historic Dublin. I've only been here once for a business dinner. The restaurant has an outside patio and a very cozy interior. When I went there, there was a live jazz band playing on the first floor. I think this place is perfect for having a drink with friends. However, I felt the food was very overpriced. I mean, I know it's an upscale restaurant in Dublin, but the food was not very flavorful even though presentation was great.

I chose Mezzo to celebrate my parent's anniversary. The staff was great - we had a nice semi-private table with a helpful but not overbearing server. The food was great, very seasonal and fresh tasting. Prices can't be beat. Why would someone go to a crap chain Italian place when for $2 more per plate you can eat here and have a much better experience. Even the wine bottle prices are reasonable. For groups, dates, drinks, whatever, I'd recommend Mezzo in Dublin.

We didn't have a reservation. Saturday night - needed to have some patience and was advised it would be 30-45 minutes. We put our name down and stood in the bar area to land a drink. We were quickly approached from behind offering the chance to open a tab. Two minutes later before our drinks arrived we were offered the previously reserved booth in the bar area. Artichoke pizza, fruit n cheese plate and a couple of drinks later we left satisfied and willing to return again soon based on service and food. My first time there -- def going back.

My boyfriend and I went here for their wine tasting the first Thursday of every month. Unfortunately their wine person was late and the time had been pushed back. Since we were limited on time, our waitress apologized and offered apps and wine at a discounted price to make up for the time change! She was very thoughtful and kind.

[Warning: This review may not be suitable for young children, as it contains verbal food porn] My husband took me to Mezzo since we rarely go out. (It was a Thursday night. He had promised a different restaurant downtown, but didn't feel like driving downtown--I told him he wasn't getting out of his promise to take me out, so he opted for somewhere closer to us). I didn't care what he picked, as long as it was a restaurant I had never before tried. So, first time at Mezzo was pretty amazing. Firstly, I know nothing about wine. Nothing at all about alcohol, actually-- besides the fact that I like some drinks more than others. Secondly, I'm cheap--so obviously, I'm going to order the cheapest on the menu (my husband is already doing something nice for me by taking me out--why push the boundaries?) I know I like white wine, so I see a Riesling called Polka Dot and order it. My first impression was honey-- a light, slightly sweet honey flavor--and I can never usually pick out differences in wine. I ordered the Chicken Milanese, unsure if I'd ever before had Chicken Milanese--but now I know I've never had it like this. It was beyond words. I'm pretty sure I made an inappropriate sound upon savoring the first creamy bite. It comes with asiago-stuffed gnocchi and is positively swimming in creaminess. I managed to save some to take home, and as I boxed up the leftovers, I was glad I did so--I was getting fuller by the minute! I really wanted to try dessert, but there was no reason to spend $7 on something we couldn't finish anyway (plus, I'm kinda on a diet--can't you tell?). My husband got a pork chop (I was annoyed at him for this--who goes to a nice place and gets a pork chop? but he does things like that all of the time--opposites attract, and all that). He really liked it, and even I saw the value in it--it was thick and cooked perfectly--plus THE SIDES it came with. How do I begin to express my love for some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had the pleasure of tasting? Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese (yes, it was my husband's, and of course, he let me try it). I will be going back to Mezzo just for this. Choose something from "The Grill" portion of the menu, and it comes with cauliflower, plus your choice of a side and sauce! (Next time I visit, I will definitely try a steak--then order the Milanese to-go? Just kidding!). Service was a little slow, but nothing terrible. All in all, I was a very happy & content lady upon leaving this establishment, and I look forward to visiting again.

My boyfriend surprised me with dinner at Mezzo on Valentine's Day! I'd been to Mezzo once previously but not for several years. Props to my boyfriend because it was the perfect place for a romantic Valentine's date! It was not extremely crowded but I think that was due to the winter storm raging through Ohio. However, for us winter warriors, it was well worth facing the cold! The ambiance was perfect...from the romantic, soft lighting to the cosy little corner we were seated in. Our server was friendly, attentive, and professional...this clearly was not his first rodeo. Now for the food! We ordered the mussels to start....the mussels themselves were cooked to perfection! But let me tell you about the sauce they were cooked in...I'm no foodie so forgive my terminology but HOT D*MN!!! It was absolutely amazing and full of flavor. If my boyfriend and I hadn't been together for almost a year, I would have been embarrassed to consume it, along with almost all our bread in front of him! Main course: I ordered the lamb dish. Mostly because I just love lamb...but also because I'd never heard of it being prepared like this! It had an delicious glaze with cherries and olives. AHH-MAZ-ING! My boyfriend ordered the pork in a Smoked Pancetta Truffle Sauce with the truffle fries. He was in absolute love with his meal, I had to fight him for a bite! However, I more or less forced him to order the truffle fries. And I was not disappointed with them, neither was he, well the ones he actually got to eat! Clean plate club...hollaaaaa! After we finished we told our waiter to give our compliments to the chef. Five minutes later...Tom, the sous chef at Mezzo, came out to talk with us. He literally sat down at our table and carried on a conversation with us! Tom was super relatable and nice. It was so cool that he took the time to come out and talk to us! And a lot of the reason I am taking the time to write this review. Before he went back to the kitchen, we asked him about recommendations for dessert. He suggested the blondie with vanilla ice cream. Dessert: Naturally, we went with Tom's recommendation, the blondie. Not gonna lie, it wouldn't have been my first choice bc it reminds me of my moms, which aren't exactly something to write home about. I'm so glad that we took his advice because despite my stomach aching at this point we managed to clean that plate as well... Definitely one of my best restaurant experiences to date! I would highly recommend Mezzo to others! One million stars! I hope that my boyfriend will take me back soon!

The food was very good and service was great. There were 4 of us in the party and we all had different food and all was good. We recommend this resturant, but I would change the prices and add one more dollar sign.

We live near Mezzo so we visit every so often.Last evening was a case in point. I enjoy the half-off wine prices on Tuesdays. My husband and I ordered a nice 2012 St Francis Old Vine Zinfindel. Not being starved we both ordered appetizers and salads. My charcuterie board was a generous and delicious offering. The Mezzo salad was respectable. My husband enjoyed the arancini and raved about his wedge salad. So why the 3 star rating? There we sat with better than a half bottle of wine; I was only starting on my salad when the waiter came over NOT to pour more wine into our glasses but to offer to clear and bring us our check! Now it would be quite another matter if this were an isolated incident but it's not. It has been an all too frequent experience. The motto seems to be in and out within an hour! That's exactly the time we were allotted. And the restaurant wasn't even busy!
Late spring and early summer has me on the constant lookout for patio dining. We decided or should I say .. settled on Mezzo in historic downtown Dublin tonight (most other spots in the area were packed). But there was room at the inn, so my partner in crime and I decided to give it a try. For starters we pondered between the "Calamari" and the "Maine Mussels". Upon recommendation from our great server, we decided on the mussels. Steamed in spicy white wine broth with a semi dry tomatoes, basil and served with a "meager piece of grilled bread". I say meager because we received one small piece of toast with an ample quantity of broth and mussels. Luckily our server was on the ball and brought a basket of bread for our dipping pleasure and it was a pleasure .. the "Maine Mussels" were the highlight of our meal. For my entree, I ordered their take on an Italian classic .. "Sacchetti" .. also known as "Beggar's Purse". Which are small circles or squares of pasta filled like ravioli then fastened at the top like a small bag. Mezzo's version was filled with gorgonzola, red wine figs, toasted walnuts and sauced with roasted shallot cream and finished with truffle oil and crispy spinach. A very tasty dish. However, it's so rich, I would have preferred less and be made into an appetizer. I ended up sharing my entree with my partner in crime and it's a good thing, for her entree was completely terrible. I seldom take a taste of something and spit it back out, but I did hers. She ordered one of Mezzo's Specialty Dishes .. the "Eggplant Napoleon" .. advertised as panko-crusted eggplant with mozzarella and semolina crusted tomatoes in layers with a light pomodoro (tomato) sauce and served with a side of pesto pasta. The skin on the extremely thick sliced eggplant was so tough, it was hard to cut through even with a steak knife. The flesh was equally harsh with just the center being tender .. maybe I should say "mushy" instead. Neither the tomato nor the eggplant had any "crust", but instead soggy wet bread crumbs and coating. The mouth feel was terrible and the taste .. well you know eggplant skin .. BITTER! The sauce was bland and so was the pasta with virtually zero seasoning. We sent it back and finished our meal sharing my entree and the remainder of the mussel broth and bread. I will say that the staff was friendly and the manager came over and apologized and took the eggplant disaster off our tab. We talked a bit and he said that he tried to get THAT dish off the menu, because they had complaints before .. HELLO? Well, I gave him some tips on how to properly prepare eggplant whether they will heed it or not .. doesn't matter .. we'll never order it again AND I do recommend they remove it from their menu. All-in-all, I like the patio. The mussels were very good and we will be back hence the "A-OK" rating.

We have enjoyed all the other Dublin restaurants, and missed out on this gem until tonight. What a find! Everything about our evening was wonderful, and we can't wait to come back and bring friends. Thank you, Mezzo!

Tonight my girlfriend and I came in for ladies night! We have been here before & love the ambiance. It is such an inviting and warm environment. We sat at the bar for the ladies night specials. Brandon suggested the arancinni for a shareable which was amazing.. And then each got salads (I the mezzo salad and my friend the wedge) with chicken and salmon. My chicken was juicy and flavorful and added a very nice touch to the salad (the plating was great as they put the chicken on the side, to avoid wilting the lettuce) the best aspect of our evening though was our bartenders Brandon & Mike. They both were so personable & truly cared about making it a good experience for us. The laughs that mike provided and the food suggestions from Brandon will definitely bring us back for future ladies nights !

Love their outdoor areas and great food! Last night was my second time here, service was a little slow both times but the wait staff was extremely friendly and the food was excellent! Happy hour specials are decent for an upscale restaurant. Best of all it is so nice to have a great patio area in Dublin! Would definitely recommend to others and will be coming back again.

We celebrated a birthday at Mezzo, it was our first time there. The restaurant itself is beautiful, a must see with it's unique bi-level layout. The food was delicious, The best gnocchi I've had in my Chicken Milanese. Most of all the service was impeccable! Our server, Hannah, was very nice and knowledgable, making sure we had everything we needed. Even the bartender, Mike, stopped by to see how my, delicious, Pumpkin Pie Martini was tasting. The team of friendly hosts and manager, Jared, invited us back as we left for the evening. We will definitely be returning and I'm sure you will feel the same way after your first visit.

How have we missed this place??? Started with great valet parking--run by Dublin? Nice in this busy area. Once in the restaurant, the service was great and the food quite good. Will definitely go back

Great Location in old Dublin. I ate with a party of six being paid for by a corporate account and got to see/taste a LOT of menu items. Nothing was bad, but found few items that I would seek out to eat again.

This place was great. Really nice atmosphere and was able to get a table right away. Ordered the tomato soup first and it was really good and a good amount too. Order the pork chop for the entree and it was one of the best pork chops I have ever had. We will be back in the future!

I've been wanting to try this place and finally did. Had a really relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. The ambiance is contemporary with warm earth tones. When we walked inside, I was actually taken a little aback about how classy the place was. From the outside, I had not expected the interior to be as surprisingly nice as it was. Lots of outdoor seating available, both on ground level as well as a second story outside area. Inside, the first floor is primarily the bar area. One can sit comfortable here to dine or go upstairs for a more formal dining room. Meals were wonderful! I had the capellini with shrimp. Loved it! Also sampled the wild mushroom ravioli as I shy'ed away from it thinking it might be very rich. Actually, it was quite nice and not rich. Only thing that was not particularly satisfying was the Parmesan focaccia. Quite honestly, not much taste to it. Left feeling very satisfied, but not overly full. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a great place to go out with a group for dinner, for drinks or to enjoy the company of someone special.

I went on a Thursday evening early but after happy hour. Started with the house salad and glass of prosecco. Salad flavors we're nice but the kale could have been softened a bit to ease the fibrous texture and release more flavor. I enjoyed the sachetti with figs, Gorgonzola and walnuts. Well designed and tasty dish. The fried spinach with truffle oil topped it off nicely and a glass of Pinot noir made for a very good dinner. Service was friendly and attentive. I'll go back.
The service was just fair. From the get go the hostess stand did not seem very enthused to be working at this establishment. The server was even less enthused and seemed as though cracking a smile was a challenge. We ordered just an appetizer for happy hour and the Mussel dish was very strong tasting. We were half way through the dish and decided they just were not good and gave up on it. I am a seafood fan though only if the food is fresh. I almost wanted to tell them that they should say they do not have mussels currently so that other patrons do not order this until they get mussels which are better tasting and not so strong. This was my second time at Mezzo, the first time was okay, this time was below my standards. Too many good establishments in Columbus to try still to even attempt this place again.

We stopped after finding ourselves without our son. Overall we were disappointed in our very expensive meal. First the bil was over $50 for 2 entrees, 2 salads and water. The wedge salad was good but not memorable. The caesar salad was bland. My husband ordered pizza margarita which was also bland...it needed garlic. The salmon as lovely. The eggplant topping hid the flavor of the fish. I dont see us returning. We admired the art in the bar as we were exiting.

Well this was certainly an experience...not to be had again. This was my second visit to Mezzo in Dublin. The first time I was just at the bar, and Ben the bartender was just as pleasant this time as he was the last. They even had a fun little two man acoustic band playing. My friends and I arrived for our reservation during restaurant week and were seated upstairs with a nice view of the hostess stand below. We were greeted by our less than enthusiastic server David, who was nice enough I suppose. Then we were greeted by the head chef Joe, on a whim. Joe by far is the only saving grace from this entire experience. He recommended items on the menu, was enthusiastic, and very laid back. He even threw in a free dessert just because. Our food came and was ho hum, I would describe the pasta and goat cheese appetizer that I had as very similar to something I could get at the Olive Garden except for a much steeper price. I will say my friend's salmon looked much better than my pasta and we had an artichoke and cheese appetizer that was heavenly! Also, the check did recommend the veal, but after he described the marrow as meat jello I couldn't bring myself to order it. I guess that would appeal to some people! As our meal came to a close we wanted another glass of wine and to order dessert. We could quite literally see our server David flirting with the hostess and playing catch in the stairwell as we waited at least 30 minutes. Then he came up to check on us and said, "sorry about the wait, so busy, up and down, up and down", I mean really guy?! we can SEE you! I simple apology would have been sufficient for my friends and I as we were all servers at his age and while we would never treat customers this way, we're pretty darn forgiving. Then he proceeded to bring our checks and hound us to finish paying. Take the check when we leave guy! What is this, pizza hut?! All in all, the bar is 5 stars with overpriced cheap wine, the food is an overpriced 3, the chef is 5 stars and the service is the worst I've ever had. If it hadn't been for the bartender and chef, I would probably never go back again. As of now I'll give it one more shot.

Fabulous night with friends at a very unassuming location from the outside, once inside your blown away by the friendly staff, music and atmosphere. The waiter was very knowledgable and funny. His recommendations were spot-on. We were enjoying our cocktails for over an hour and the bread with dipping sauce was absolutely the best I've ever had and there was never a need to ask for a refill. Of course the drinks were still flowing while the bar was packed for most of the night. The meal, the last time I had a filet that tender and juicy was at a five star restaurant. Every dish that landed on our table was to die for. The taste and presentations was wonderful. Highest recommendations for a group setting or just catching up with old friends. Ask for Seth, he has a great knack for one-liners and keeping up with multiple tables.

We needed a place to unwind on a Wednesday evening after work while enjoying good food, drinks and good conversation. The ambiance at Mezzo definitely fit that bill perfectly. The restaurant was not crowded, their patio was amazing, the flavorful dinner portions were just the right size (i had the capellini), our waiter kept the drinks flowing and was friendly without being overbearing. We hung out on the patio since it was nice out and we had lots to catch up on, but I wouldn't rule out a return trip just to enjoy drinks at the bar. Minus 1/2 a star for my cheesecake dessert that was lukewarm in temperature and minus another 1/2 star for the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom... But! bonus points to our waiter who was nice enough to discount our drinks since we missed happy hour by like 30 seconds.

I'm going to start this by saying our food was very good. I also really liked the decor, however it was way too cold inside! Where they lost stars were 1) The prices - specifically the wine. Very over priced. When we asked how much a bottle cost we were told 4x the price of the glass; most places are at least a few dollars cheaper to buy a bottle than 4 individual glasses. We also looked up the wine after dinner and found that our $32 bottle of wine retailed for $12.99!!! Talk about a ridiculous mark up. And while the food was good, it was not anything special or unique compared to other expensive Italian restaurants. 2) The service - I also did not care for our server. While I don't think he was intentionally a jerk, he came off as a jerk. He seemed pushy especially with trying to up-sell us on things. We also felt mocked when we chose a less-expensive options of things (like the $32 bottle wine instead of the $40 bottle of wine.) We were out for a special occasion, but that didn't mean we could carelessly spend an absurd amount on dinner. I did appreciate having time to eat and relax and not feel rushed out, though. While I would not return for a full meal, I would consider going back for a GLASS of wine and some appetizers. I also would recommend trying it for yourself since part of my poor experience had to do with our server and that may likely not be the case for others.

Food was okay but I thought a cesear salad with a very small portion of chicken on it and a soda for $18.22 was a bit pricey for lunch. Plus they are not good with special directions, dressing on the side was not on the side. Service was pleasant but there was nothing outstanding about the food that would make me feel like I would need to go back. Also if you have limited time (as in a workday lunch) this is probably not a good option).

Great food, excellent service, and. 6-8 bourbon selections makes this a must stop! Pork tenderloin was awesome along with apps. No person was dissatisfied and the wine didn't hurt. A great place for a date night or if you are of the affluent then a regular dinner spot!

I've come here twice, both times due to work-related events. I won't come again. The first time, I was disappointed that the only vegan-looking item on the online menu didn't show up on the menu at the restaurant. When I asked what was vegan, the serving staff gave me a menu and didn't elaborate. I assumed that this was just a lack of preparation, and brushed it off. When I found out that I'd be coming here again, I came prepared: I contacted the restaurant using its its online form, and explained my situation. The manager assured me via email that the cooks had made vegan dishes before, and that the restaurant would work hard to accommodate me. When I arrived, however, it was a different story. The bartender recommended I eat the caprese salad, until I reminded him there's cheese in it. He then gave me the gluten-free menu, which is not helpful. Finally, the manager was called out to explain to me various dishes on the menu that the kitchen could make without their cheese or seafood. These experiences were upsetting for a few reasons. First, they demonstrated to me that the majority of the staff at this restaurant have little to no understanding of what ingredients go into the food served there. While this merely inconvenienced me, what if someone had an allergy? Secondly, this taught me that the restaurant is fully willing to sell me deficient dishes at full price. Presumably the cheese and the seafood ingredients were added for a reason: whoever designed the dish must have thought, "these ingredients need to be added for this to be complete." Without those ingredients, the dishes are lacking (flavor profile, texture, etc.). Had the manager so much as suggested that they could make something to my specifications, I might have considered getting a meal, but this was so disappointing that I have no intention of giving another dollar to this establishment.

First night in Dublin, only four of us, and we chose Mezzo for it's location close to our hotel. We wanted "Italian", we got /Italian/ (italicized for emphasis). More of a "new" Italian than, for instance, our group meal at La Scala a few evenings later. The food was good, well prepared, but honestly, overpriced for what we got. And service was fair at best, less so at worst.

Being that I am not from Ohio, I'm always excited to try any restaurant in quaint little Dublin. Mezzo is located in what I feel is the heart of downtown Dublin, right next to the water fountain and a lush grassy area. The atmosphere inside Mezzo is very romantic and trendy. My coworker and I were told that the wait can get pretty long if you didn't have a reservation, but we tried our luck anyway. We arrived around 6:20PM and figured it was still pretty early. We were wrong. The wait for a table was over an hour long but the lower level, the bar area, was open seating. Luckily, they had a small table in the corner. I'm not sure how the normal dining area is, but the bar area was very dark. It had a nice trendy feel to it; perfect for a romantic night out. However, I was not on a date, so the dim-ness was a little much for me. My coworker got a Caesar salad and the Pan-roasted Salmon. She loved both. {NOTE} The Caesar salad is a wedge salad and if you didn't read the fine print, there are anchovies. I got the Vegetable Gnocchetti, which I did not love. It was good, but not spectacular. The chicken was breast meat which can and was on the dry side. The sauce was not spicy and a little too tomato-y for my taste. I like creamier pastas and should have known that I was not going to like this dish. The pasta however, was a nice texture and the fresh ricotta was perfect. To accompany our dishes, we each picked a seasonal drink from the menu. I had the Spiced Cider, which definitely had a little kick to it. I normally don't drink bourbon but it was a nice drink to have to combat the cold weather (I'm from California.) The coworker opted for the Pumpkin Pie Martini. To me, it looked like eggnog and apparently it tasted like a spiked spice eggnog; a nice touch for the upcoming holiday season. Overall, Mezzo is a cute little spot that Dublin has to offer. If I'm ever in Dublin again, I would definitely give this place another shot. The service was amazing and although I did not LOVE my dish, it was great quality.

If I could give the service at Mezzo zero stars, I would. We arrived at 8:30 on Saturday night, table of four, requesting a table on the upstairs patio. They quoted us 15 minutes and we sat down at the bar for a drink. About five minutes after we walked in, and older group of four came in and requested table and sat down at the bar. After about 20 minutes the older group of four were seated on the patio upstairs even though they arrived five minutes after we did. After talking to the hostess, she said that it would only be another couple minutes before we were seated. She then disappeared for the next 15 minutes and we decided to leave. I wish I could review Mezzo for the food but I can't. We most certainly will never be back.

This is a very upscale restaurant. I had a seafood pasta dish that was exceptional. If you want to take someone out for a nice date this is a good place to choose.

There are a lot of "haters gonna hate" reviews on here so far. Perhaps Mezzo has lowered its prices and improved its food, but we loved it. The cocktail menu was interesting (and not too expensive), the food was pretty good (especially the bread, the appetizers, and the pizzas) and came in healthy portions, and the atmosphere and service are great. The only downside is that the dessert menu is tiny and unsatisfactory. Other than that, we'll definitely be back for retail wine night on Tuesdays and other happy hour specials, and I would be glad to bring out-of-town guests here. Get the risotto balls (arancini) and, for seriously, I could eat that bread all day.

I went here once for a work party and the food was totally whatever. Nothing stood out as being particularly great. Way over priced for what you get. There are plenty of Italian fine dining choices in Columbus. I would look elsewhere. However, the pumpkin martini was amazing. So the drinks might not be too bad.

This is a beautiful two story restaurant and bar in a beautiful neighborhood. But it's in a rich snob town and you'll pay a rich snob price for the privilege. The patrons at his place are all rich snobs and business people, mostly middle aged and up it seems. The menu is somewhat small (two sides of a single sheet of paper) and way over priced. So if you have money to piss away, come check it out but wear your Sunday best. To be fair I haven't tried the food, only drinks from the bar, but I've seen it and I'm confident at a place like this it's very good. I took off a point for the high prices and short menu.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(2)Christina A.
(5)Samantha F.
I went here once for a work party and the food was totally whatever. Nothing stood out as being particularly great. Way over priced for what you get. There are plenty of Italian fine dining choices in Columbus. I would look elsewhere. However, the pumpkin martini was amazing. So the drinks might not be too bad.
(2)Chad W.

(5)Lori E.
The food and service were very good. We were there on Last Call wine night which was great! The problem was the noise. We could not have a conversation at all.

(5)Sarah L.
(5)Megan D.
(2)Jeffrey S.
I've had a few business lunch meetings at this place and it's great! In some cases my meetings have run long and they've allowed us to stay even though they're closed between lunch and dinner. The service is great, the location is great and the cavatelli is amazing!!
(5)Mel S.
(2)Jack S.
Great Service on an night that was extremely busy. Steak was a 10 as well. Nice mix of crowd.
(5)Jared E.

(4)Steven M.
(4)Charles M.

I went to Mezzo tonight with two friends. I had been here about a year ago, but had been disappointed by one of the entrées. I haven't been back since. The ambience here is good, And our night started well. The tomato soup was very good, but my bowl was only half-full. I asked and our waitress brought me a little more. So far good. The cheese board was good but four small pieces of cheese is very little cheese for $14.00. Small chunk of violet infused honey comb was a nice touch. Half price wines at happy hour on Tuesday is also a nice touch. The service was excellent. (Our tip reflected it!) Up to this point, the restaurant was working on a four star review. But then the crab cakes we had ordered finally arrived...The crab cakes were the worst we had ever had. They didn't taste like crab, but more like fish flavored sawdust. They were made with an enormous amount of breading, and had no lump crab visible anywhere in them. The presentation on the plate was good, with broccoli rabe and polenta on the plate, but the main attraction was disappointing. At $22 we felt this was a real waste of money. Upon receiving our bill, which was $142.00 for three people before the tip, I commented that the crabcakes were disappointing. Our waitress went up to see the manager on duty that night, whose name was Jerrod. Over 10 minutes passed. She came back and told us that Jarrod told her that since I had eaten some of the crabcakes he was not going to comp the order. He didn't bother to come down to talk to us, but just relayed this information through his waitress. He was somewhere upstairs. Our waitress had wrapped the crabcakes to go and I simply handed them back to her and said I've only taken one bite, please give these back to Jerrod and tell him that we would like to have our money back. She came back downstairs about 4 or 5 minutes later, as her manager had been somewhere upstairs, and she did take the cost of the crab cakes off our bill. I was astounded, because as a former manager of a restaurant, I would NEVER have avoided contact with a customer who was disappointed with the food. My rating here is simply for my enormous disappointment with a poor manager and the poor management of this restaurant. If I was the owner, this guy would go.

(5)Justin L.

Will definitely go back
(5)Matt S.
Great Location in old Dublin. I ate with a party of six being paid for by a corporate account and got to see/taste a LOT of menu items. Nothing was bad, but found few items that I would seek out to eat again.
(3)Kevin P.
This place was great. Really nice atmosphere and was able to get a table right away. Ordered the tomato soup first and it was really good and a good amount too. Order the pork chop for the entree and it was one of the best pork chops I have ever had. We will be back in the future!
(5)Rawlins R.
This is a very upscale restaurant. I had a seafood pasta dish that was exceptional. If you want to take someone out for a nice date this is a good place to choose.

(4)Robert M.
Poor service, long wait. NOT a place for families with children!!! Went there for a birthday celebration that did not go well. When wine was spelled no one came to help. Server side and walked away. One entrée it was a split plate and they brought it on one plate when it came back it was cold
(2)Cecilia C.
(2)Tls K.
(2)Tana K.

The service was amazing and although I did not LOVE my dish, it was great quality.

i love this restaurant ! bartending skills bonus points! but the fig cherry tarte thing has got to go - it's just nasty and i love figs! and cherries! but there is something amiss with this dessert option - please replace with something less figgy thanks! love you guys !

I went here for a business luncheon and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is nice and the food is good. I ordered soup and salad, which was excellent, but I found myself enveying my bosses steak. Juicy! I may be back with a friend.

My boyfriend and I went here for their wine tasting the first Thursday of every month. Unfortunately their wine person was late and the time had been pushed back. Since we were limited on time, our waitress apologized and offered apps and wine at a discounted price to make up for the time change! She was very thoughtful and kind.

(4)Robert M.
Poor service, long wait. NOT a place for families with children!!! Went there for a birthday celebration that did not go well. When wine was spelled no one came to help. Server side and walked away. One entrée it was a split plate and they brought it on one plate when it came back it was cold

Great Service on an night that was extremely busy. Steak was a 10 as well. Nice mix of crowd.

(4)Steven M.

The food and service were very good. We were there on Last Call wine night which was great! The problem was the noise. We could not have a conversation at all.
