1808, is either the best or one of the best restaurants in Delaware. They do know it, but it has not gotten to them. Even with a recent increase the prices remain fair. The salads are generously sized and they even offer a choice to order a half portion- which seems rare these days. The service is good, the waiters are attentive and understand the beverage list well. There is something for everyone on the menu, some creative dishes like gourmet shrimp and grits, as well as a selection of nice steaks. You will not be disappointed at 1808, and make sure to try something new each time you go!

We visited recently with 2 other couples. The food was good, gauc and chips and all of our dinners were prepared well. However it was impossible to talk with each other due to the level of noise. I suggest that if you are going for drinks look at the wine and beer list. Both have a wide variety of wonderful choices. The mixed drinks need work. All in all I would say if you want to go out for an adult beverage and an appetizer with a bunch of friends this is a good place to go. If you are looking for a place to have a nice quiet dinner with friends maybe this isn't what you are looking for. Make sure you are ready for the high prices.

I have been to 1808 a million times, mostly for the excellent beer selection but also for the above average food. Service is going down hill very quickly. I showed up and had a friend meet me there at 9:20 for a couple beers this week. We both ordered a delicious double IPA and started considering what might be next.. At 9:30 the bartender called last call. For food I thought, an then he said if we wanted one more he could stick around.. No thanks, check please. I have seen it before, great place will be taken down by bad service. Sad.

Clearly the best place Ive eaten at since I moved here from Seattle almost two years ago. I had the shrimp and grits. Amazing! The grits were as grits should be. My wife had a filet. Done perfectly. Clearly there is some Creole roots in the cooking here and some of the best Ive ever had. Prices were fair, service was great, and the atmosphere was very nice. 1808 is my new favorite place.

As of late my dining experience has been less than sub par. That all changed a few nights ago when my friends decided we'd go to 1808 for dinner. I was hesitant to say the least but went hoping for the best and expecting the worst. We walked in to a pseudo-modern bar area, dimly lit with a chalkboard annoucing the nights specials. A hostess greeted us (genuinely, I might add) and seated us promptly. The decor in the dining area was cute. An eclectic mix of cracker barrel meets ikea meets restoration hardware. By now you might know I enjoy craft beers. Soooo, I was super excited to see their beer list!! Bells, left hand, dogfish head (yes, yes, the 90 min.) all on draft. There were even a few I had heard of but hadnt been able to find (old 21 ESB, for example) The food menu was short--only about a page but I like that. I ordered the grilled mahi mahi with black beans and rice served on a tostada with pico and a chipotle finish. I also ordered the black pepper bacon potato soup. I expected the soup to be more of a chowder but it was more of a puree. It wasnt lacking in flavor and heather said it perfectly. "it's like they infused it with bacon fat." It was tasty, though!! My mahi mahi was delicious--not under cooked and everything went well. The prices were a little steep but not so considering the options. My entree was 16 bones and the soup was 4. Heather ordered shrimp and grits (also delicious and they didn't skimp her on the shrimp) beer was 6 bucks--pretty average. I know it might not be very easy for those of you living in columbus but its worth the trip. I live in Marengo so its a short drive to downtown delaware but I encourage everyone to go. The staff is friendly and inviting. I wore jeans and a shirt, some were wearing dressier clothes but I dont think it matters. 1808--thank you for an excellent service! (tip of the hat)

The partner has decided that we will eat our way around Delaware since I'm not from here. I thought the bistro was beautiful. Nicely lit and decorated tastefully. The bar was large and had a great amount of variety in the liquors they had. There weren't many people there, but for whatever reason we had to wait to be seated. The bartender saw us, and he couldn't slide to the side where the waiters were hiding and let them know customers were there? I ordered a Crispin cider, and because it tapped and didn't poor a full glass they didn't charge me for if. The grilled cheese was lovely and perfect with the spinach side salad. My guy had the steak and said it was cooked to perfection. I would return.

I've eaten here a couple times and it's been pretty good both times. It's the best place in Delaware for a nice sit down dinner, but it never knocks my socks off. This most recent time we had mediocre service, not very speedy or friendly but acceptable. I had the New York Strip which was satisfactory, but didn't compare to the steak I had at Oscar's in Dublin. My girlfriend had the Buttered Noodles and she enjoyed them, but wasn't blown away either. As stated earlier, for Delaware it's a nice place, but doesn't really hold a candle to some of the nicer places around Columbus.

I have been eating my way around this town for years. I have eaten at every restaurant this town has had since 1995 (that's as far back as I can remember). Tonight was the first time I ate alone. I was watching "Sex and the City" a few days ago and decided with everything I have gone through I deserve to embrace myself and stop only going out with other people. It is actually okay to eat out alone. I also watched "Eat, Pray, Love" and decided the best way to enjoy food is alone. You can savor the flavors without distraction. And you don't have to impress anyone. It all makes for a relaxing dinner. And if it takes a few hours so be it. I'll come right out and say it, as much as I love sharing food with friends, I love having dinner alone. I ate at the one truly fine dinning establishment in this town 1808. It does suffer a bit from an identity crisis--is it a steak house? Is it an italian bistro? Is it cajun? Regardless the food is always stellar. I have never had a bad dish. And the alcohol selection makes up for any short coming 1808 might have. I went in knowing I had the money to get whatever I wanted and I wanted a steak. Nothing too big but something that satisfied like nothing else. After the doctors appointment this morning I knew I was low on iron so I chose my meal accordingly. To start I had the beef carpaccio. It was a double hit of iron with the beef slices and the spinach salad. This is what I want every day for lunch for the rest of my life. The beef was so tender it just fell a part as I picked it up off the plate. The balsamic reduction drizzled across the beef lended a nice sweetness to the rustic earthy taste of the beef and off set the nice salty capers. A little shaved parm enhanced all the flavors and added a little creaminess. I am serious when I say I could eat this appetizers every day for lunch. For my main meal I went with the filet mignon. When ordering during the week you can order your meat how you want it cooked. On the weekends or whenever it is busy, order it under cooked as it will continue cooking so you get it at the perfect temperature. This is true at most places here in the midwest. The filet was amazing, cooked to a perfect medium. It melted on my tongue. It was during this one delicious slice of beef when I realized I am going to dedicate my life to writing about food. Yes it was a revolutionary piece of cow. It was topped with a small amount of hotel butter which gave the crispy slightly charred exterior a great bite of salty garlic. This was enhanced by the garlic potato mash served on the side. There was also asparagus but it is always over cooked, as most vegetable garnishes are in this area. Dessert was my personal favorite and 1808 is the only place in town where I can get it--beignets. I fell in love with these puffy golden pillows during my first trip to New Orleans. So much so I will always say they are better than sex. I will always choose them over chocolate or some naked guy covered in chocolate pledging his life to me as my sex slave. And I am a confessed chocoholic. The beignets at 1808 are miniature versions of the original. They are also drizzled with honey before being covered in powedered sugar. The honey adds a lot of flavor to the fried dough pillows making me question which are better--1808 in Delaware Ohio or Cafe du Monde in New Orleans Louisiana? Even though they are served with an espresso getting a cup of coffee is the better way to go, especially if you share with someone.

One does notice a bunch of comparisons to other restaurants in other cities as they review 1808 and maybe that is a good tact. With that said, they are a ton of much better restaurants in the Columbus area. After the article that praised 1808 in Columbus Monthly the chef dissed Delaware and wanted to move to Columbus. Funny, he came from C-BUS, so why set up an eatery Delaware and then slam having it here? Seems though you took our money... Why 1808, the year Delaware was founded...? I have had quite a few meals here and noticing myself not going back. Frankly the food is not that good. Specifics, sure, here goes - shrimp and grits could be way more flavorful and topping it with parmesan cheese!?! Huh, really. Cheese on seafood... tried the beef carpaccio and surprised how dry it is and should not be stuck (well, dried) to the plate, properly seasoned would have helped. This has happened a couple times. The last potato cheese soup i got i had to send back, it was not flavored at all and the horrid chalky mouth feel, wow. Very small portion as well, very small. We have got the hummus ap before and well, just average. A while back i was not paying attention and ordered calamari (love it everywhere else), after they sat it down i dug in. After the first bite and turning to puke, i got my composure and told the waitress that it was bad and slimy. i told her about the sour barnyard taste, she looked down and ask what was wrong so we pulled apart a piece and it had white creamy something in it. Her reply, Oh, that's the goat cheese stuffing... WTF! Seriously. Cheese stuffed anything is almost Crap-pul-bees. Steaks are never cooked to your order and be prepared to shell out some cash. I dig beer and like the selection here but wow, 10 and 12 bills. I can do much better in Columbus. Better in Philly and Chicago. Food too. Staff wise, well, a couple of good ones and then a couple of walking stumps of over cooked celery, the staff seems to care less on busy nights at the bar, ESPECIALLY what we were told was the manager. How does this dullard get to manage a restaurant?!?!?! Let alone, serve customers??? So as a comparison, there are a bunch of better places in Columbus and maybe my food dollars will head there and certainly better valued places and food here in DELAWARE. As far as 1808 being an 'oasis in the middle of Delaware' i do not get that at all. Is that setting the bar low so "us Delaware folk can clear it?"

First off, I have to correct the reviewer Matt L. -- 1808 American Bistro is located in downtown Delaware, Ohio, in a turn-of-the-century National Trust historic building. Hardly suburban! We've eaten at 1808 a couple dozen times and give it an overall "good to very good" rating for the food, slightly lower for the value, and only "acceptable" for the service. The restaurant is located about half a block off the main street (Sandusky) in downtown Delaware, right across from the Strand Theatre. The decor matches many restaurants/bars in historic buildings: wood floors, exposed brick walls, high ceilings. Overall, it has a nice ambiance. We've tried most of the entrees on the menu, but usually stick with the pastas; their goat cheese mezzaluna is outstanding. Our experience with the fish and steaks is less positive -- generally it's decent, but rarely rises above that level. Part of that equation is the price. While I love the goat cheese mezzaluna, $15 for five or six cheese raviolis is a bit excessive for a small town like Delaware. And that's ala carte -- it doesn't include salad and, as the previous reviewer pointed out, bread is an extra $2. The steaks are well into the $20 range, and in my experience have been disappointing. The fish can be hit or miss as well. Our big issue is generally the service. When they first opened a year or so ago, it was awful, and it seemed that neither the front or the back of the house was up to speed. It's gotten better, but the host and wait staff still seemed overwhelmed, even with half of the restaurant empty. Frankly, it seems like the front of the house staff would rather be anywhere else; they appear to dislike their jobs and don't mind letting everyone know it. To be fair, this problem isn't unique to 1808; it seems to be a issue at a lot of Delaware restaurants. This restaurant has a lot going for it: good location, great space, interesting and varied menu, 25+ beers on tap. The cost vs. value equation needs to be improved -- better, friendlier service and more consistency from the kitchen would go a long way in making their higher prices (again, for Delaware) more palatable.

Love-Love-Love 1808 best food for the $ in Delaware. Everything I've eaten has been fantastic!

Beer selection is killer! They have a real cool section on drink menu where it is old school mixed drinks. The reason for the creole flair is the owner chef formally trained in New Orleans. Honestly the freshest food and ingredients in town. The wife and I go on our dates here as opposed to any of the big name Columbus restaurants. Shrimp and grits and baseball steak are outstanding. You have to end your meal with the beignets.

Traveling from Detroit to Cambridge, Ohio for a factory visit, we stopped in Delaware OH for dinner. My manager had found 1808 on the web and suggested we try. The +: Tasty salads in half portions are a perfect starter size The kitchen was really accommodating with special requests The restaurant is really well decorated My main (the mahi mahi) was well thought through, very flavorful (mahi, tangy guacamole, rice, cuban style black beans!), and well presented. The - Coffee was weak, cappuccinos took way too long to come out My fish was a bit overcooked Bread "service" was $2. Really? I don't remember the last time I saw this...just a turn-off But given that I had zero expectations, this was a really really enjoyable suburban new American joint.

I walked into 1808 with high expectations for what I assumed would be a great, Friday-night meal with family and friends. I was vastly disappointed! The terrible service started at the door. Upon being seated we were rushed into ordering, despite the fact that we were all first-time customers. When the food came out, first impressions were great. Everything looked up to par with what one would expect from a place many consider to be upper class. Then we cut into the steaks. The order was for medium-well but two of the three came out bright red rare. when we asked the server for a manager, she went away, only to come back moments later to report that the manager would comp the BREAD from the table($4 on a bill of well over $100). When it was expressed that this was unacceptable, the manager still refused to come to the table. The steaks were finally removed from the bill but a charge was added in its place for "Open food". If you ever get the urge to wander into 1808, I strongly suggest dining elsewhere I have never had a worse experience! Awful management.

Pleasantly surprised. The 1/2 salads are like full salads and had great flavor. I got a ribeye which was perfectly cooked with good flavor. My wife had fried chicken which was great! I would definitely go back again.

Went here on a Saturday night. A bit chaotic, not very well managed in terms of seating people and getting orders in to the kitchen. Host could have been a bit more proactive, like suggesting our small group sit in the bar vs. waiting 20 minutes to be seated at one of the many open tables in main dinning room. That being said, our food was good and service, once seated, was attentive.

I have never had a bad meal here. This place is reasonably priced and has large portions. The food is all very flavorful and well cooked. The spinach and artichoke dip is excellent as is the buttermilk fried chicken.

Great atmosphere. Wide menu selection. Great list of beers on draft. Of the appetizers we've tried the tuna --- which was enjoyable however not a typical tuna tartar dish. It was more of a salsa with tuna in it. Lots of cilantro. I still enjoyed it but it was not as good as we had hoped for. Have eaten here twice now and have enjoyed both visits. As other reviews have stated, bread service is $2 which is annoying, but the bread is good and we've gotten it both times. My wife ordered the filet medallions on both trips and loved it both times. However, the first visit she ordered them medium, her typical preference, and they came out a bit too pink. Our second trip she ordered medium-well and they were perfect. Not sure why this would differ from every other restaurant. I have ordered the Salmon Filet and the Smoked Chicken Ravioli. I'm not typically a fan of fish dishes but I've been trying to branch out and try different dishes. I enjoyed this dish. The fish tasted like fish, which is why I typically don't enjoy them, but the other items in the dish worked well to counter that flavor. I would order this again. The second dish was also very good. I was expecting to get a few pieces of ravioli and still be hungry but I was full by the end of the meal (I also ordered a half house salad, which was excellent). The ravioli included caramelized onions which I typically don't mind, but in this dish they were a bit too overpowering (a strong sweet flavor). I would order this again and probably ask for light to no onions.

I am from Colorado, so to see 5 taps available I knew they took their beer seriously. They have an awesome selection of wine and beer. Food was decent, I would rate it a 3.5 but the service was friendly (he was a bit dopey) and the ambiance was nice for Delaware, OH.

I think this may be the first 5 star review I've given. I have been here twice. Once by myself since I was on my way back to Columbus from Michigan after a funeral and really needed a beer and some good food. I sat at the bar and was served by a wonderful female bartender. She was chatty when appropriate but let me enjoy my meal when it came. I had heard they had Old Rasputin on tap so I ordered one of those and some sweet potato fries to start off with. After that I had the Shrimp and Grit (it's more of a cajun style than some that are really cheesy) and it was outstanding. I decided to have a UFO Hefeweizen with my shrimp and grits and I was not disappointed. The second time we were there we had a table of 4. We paid for bread service, only $2, some people complain they have to pay for the bread but I think it's worth it and the bread is very good. 3 of the 4 people wanted a ribeye steak, I opted for the 48 hour short rib. Oddly enough they had managed to run out of ribeye steaks (we were there on a Friday or Saturday...I can't remember) that night. Our server was fabulous though. She asked the other 3 folks in our party what else they liked and made 3 very knowledgeable recommendations. All 3 of them raved about the dish they had. She clearly eats AND drinks there because she also made a nice recommendation to me for a half and half beer they had been experimenting with at the bar a few days before. The short rib was ridiculously tender. I think I read a review where they complained about how salty it was but I was expecting that based on what the dish was and didn't feel like it was overpowering. Seemed just right to me. The food was outstanding and the service was even better. It's pricey but reasonable when you compare it to other restaurants of its caliber. For Delaware it's probably considered a bit pricey but I would argue it is a good value for the quality of the food. 1808 is definitely worth the occasional drive to Delaware for dinner. I think I saw online that they had added a whole other row of taps so they are now up to 48 beers and it's not your usual domestic macro brews. Their selection is legit and the apparently have a pretty decent happy hour.

Time after time the dining and drinking experience is as good as it gets. Great restaurant. The food is amazing. This is my #1 choice. What makes dining at 1808 even better is the fact that theirs live music walking distance from the restaurant. Fun place to be on a friday night.

Good food large beer selection. Salads or Filets are usually my go to, last time filet was overwhelmed by sauce on it ( ruined it) I will ask for sauce on side from now on. Good atmosphere - nice bar. Small outside seating.

One word: excellent. Shrimp and grits and pasta primavera did not disappoint. Only question is why charge $3 for bread when most restaurants in this price range provide some type of bread service in the base cost of the meal.

Our go to restaurant in Delaware. We know the bartenders by name and are always pleased by wide and always changing food/beer selection. I'm always suggesting this place to others and have brought friends here for drinks. Head chef is from New Orleans, so the menu specializes in a few dishes from that area.

This is our Friday date night destination, we would go more often if we had time. Since moving to Delaware a year and a half ago, this is the best restaurant from service to food selections we have experienced. I travel from Delaware , to New Orleans to the DC area, and nothing compares to the service and food! Make a trip to small town USA and experience a big city food and service experience!

The only reason this restaurant is still in business is bc there simply aren't any better options in "Delaware proper" for this kind of fare. Once the outlet mall is opened and some serious restaurant competition comes into Delaware, this place will either have to raise the bar or it'll go out of business. I've eaten at 1808 at least two dozen times, mostly bc of my gluten intolerance. There are zero restaurants in Delaware that can accommodate me. At times 1808 is spot on with quality, and others where they're just a wreck - the cut of meat is horrendous - the asparagus is burned...and I've ordered entree salads to-go where they don't include any dressing at all. Seriously?! Their customer service is hit or miss as well. Once they held my to-go order hostage at the bar for 20 min bc they accidentally charged someone else for my order and another time they tried to hold it hostage for an hour bc all of Delaware didn't have power and they had no way to charge my credit card at the time (though they had the number!) I instructed my husband to just yank the food bag out of the guy's hand and storm out. Ridiculous!!! However, they get my gluten issues right nearly all the time. I think they are overpriced for what they're selling, but they can afford to be bc no one within a 20 min drive does what they do. Once that changes and they have some legitimate competition, their business will have to change or it'll crumble.

Had the specials for brunch - truffle egg & thick sliced bacon. The bacon was very salty so it was good the egg wasn't too overpowering. Perhaps that's y I couldn't taste the truffle in it? Service was good & prompt. Environment nice - Not too busy yet at the time we went for brunch.

The atmosphere is awesome!! We came in at 1:15pm on Sunday and were seated. Our order was taken and our waitress said that they had two big parties and it may take a little while for us to get our food. We waited for 20 minutes and the waitress came out to another table and said to the party "it will be about 15 minutes longer". The next comment caused us to leave as we didn't have the time to wait. The father in the group said that they have been waiting for 1hr 10min already. There were only maybe 20-25 people in the entire place. There were so many open tables and is unacceptable to be waiting that amount of time. I would return as the food looked good. Hopefully they were just short staffed. I will write a better review if I have a better experience.

Thank. Goodness. They finally fixed the floors in their dining room area. I had been here one time before a couple years ago (no review) and they creaked and moved when people walked. Now it's all nice new hardwood. YAY! Now, on to the food! Like I said, I had been here before for dinner, which was good, so since I love me some brunch, craft beer and cocktails (many times all at the same time) I decided to drive up from Columbus to give it a go. Short review-meh. Here's the thing. When you offer Corned Beef Hash you're going up against some tough competition in Columbus. It has to be big, plump, juicy pieces of house made corned beef surrounded by a fresh medley of potatoes, onions and peppers. I can't be picking through a greasy little skillet of potatoes trying to figure out where the meat is. This dish needs a lot of work. Two overcooked eggs made me really regret that choice. And for $14...sigh.... My brunch buddy had the short rib hash, cooked sous vide, and it was good. Not worth the $23 price tag, but definitely better that the corned beef. I don't think this is always on the brunch menu, so perhaps call if you're really wanting to try it. As an appetizer we had the "Biscuit Service"-two biscuits for $6. Another sigh...especially for that price. Not a lot a flavor and overcooked. But, aren't biscuits pretty subjective? Not to let them off the hook or anything.... They have a Bottomless brunch cocktail menu, featuring Bloody Marys, Greyhounds, Screwdrivers and Mimosas for $18. A single Bloody is $8 so if you have no where to drive, have at it...I guess... They have a small patio out front so that would be nice to chill the morning away in the sun sipping a Mimosa, or four. The Bloody was okay-this is where I get snobby. House-pickled asparagus and green beans are their chosen garnish, which is a change from the norm of moz. cheese, pickled peppers and cured meats. Had a nice, rich tomato flavor but not the best I've had. Their draft beer selection is nice and constantly updated online (thank you, thank you and thank you), featuring breweries like Three Floyd's, Stone, Sixpoint, with locals like CBC, Jackie O's and Homestead. They average around 40 handles, I think. They also fill growlers, which is also very nice (again, thank you, thank you, thank you.) I think brunch is new to them for 2015 so perhaps it will get better with time and reviews. Is it worth the drive from Columbus? Maybe, only since there's a few other places you can check out afterwards. With that front patio and a nice bar area, invest a little time at the 1808 and see what YOU think.

Been for a Sunday brunch. I had the short rib hash, companion had the corned beef hash. Both had bottomless mimosas ($18, drink three & 1/2 and it's worth it...). The short rib was tasty, cooked just right and served on sprouts and mushrooms - both cooked well. It was a little fatty but you expect that. The corned beef hash was mostly grease. It was a great tasting thing - coming with two eggs, choice of bread and potatoes. The grease was to a new level. Not being used to this dish, perhaps they're always like that. It's pricy (relatively) But the food is cooked well. The decor is nice, staff are very accommodating and service was just what you'd think. Parking via meter just behind - cheap. I'm going back there, but will probably try a different dish. I'm sure it'll be great. *update* Since been back and can recommend the fried chicken salad and the biscuits. Really happy. Same great service and atmosphere.

We had reservations for lunch for a group of twelve. The place was not very busy through the lunch hour. Parking in the downtown Delaware area was a challenge. They have an outdoor patio in front of the restaurant that looks like it would be a great place to enjoy dinner or lunch on a warm day. Today, we ate inside. The interior ambiance is finely decorated ... large mirrors, natural brick walls, wood flooring. The lunch menu was on one page. It offered a good selection of different salads, sandwiches and Panini's, along with a couple specials of the day. I ordered their Grilled Chicken Gouda sandwich which came with chips. I do have to say at this point that even with advance reservation and only a few other tables seated, the kitchen was very slow. The waitress did her best to keep things moving and being attentive. I have mixed feelings about the sandwich. I likely will try something else next time, if I return to the 1808. The chicken breast on the sandwich maybe filled half the sandwich. The gouda cheese seemed to be on one side of the sandwich. The garlic aioli and toasted brioche were nicely done and tasty. In all, it literally seemed that the sandwich was thrown together and was more bread than anything. I left the restaurant not feeling satisfied.

I come about once a year hoping it will get better. Doesn't happen. Food is cold every time. (Steak Oscar cold? Really?) The last time, a few weeks ago, I ordered the almond crusted chicken over salad. Not only was it cold, but the chicken was so over done I could not cut it. My advice? Go down 23 and hit some places by the mall, or for a great steak, J Gilberts. And like the other reviewers mentioned, service is slow, but I found the servers to be pleasant.

Friendly service and just okay food. Ordered the eggs benedict and that was just okay.. The potatoes that came with it was really good though!

Good food with a fair selection. Enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and family conversation. I would bring a date or the wife for a special night out. I would recommend the chicken Marsala and the triple chocolate cheesecake. Well worth the money Enjoy!!

My family and I (11ppl) came here the day after Christmas for dinner. We were really impressed with their menu, and even more impressed with their execution of it. Everything on the menu was good (and we pretty much ordered everything). But what sticks out, was the beet and goat cheese salad. I've had variations of this dish all over the country, but this little place in Ohio, made the best I have ever tasted. Really a great experience all around. Must try.

Dinner was great: wedge salad was one of the best I've had. The bread service was average. The steaks at our table were well cooked and tender, but the shrimp and grits stole the meal show...until desert arrived. The whisky bread pudding and beignets were fantastic. Start with desert!

Not sure why people complain about a small menu selection. If you want a five page menu, the Cheesecake Factory has what you're looking for... Me? I much prefer a small menu of items done well, and that's what this place provides. Had a business lunch there today (so, alas, I can't vouch for what looked to be an awesome draught selection), but the coffee was outstanding, the decor was tasteful and spacious, the service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the bathroom smelled amazing (yes--really). As for the food, I had a Greek salad with pan seared salmon. Standard fare. But the salmon was cooked perfectly--flaky on the inside with a wonderfully crisp outside. And the dish was proportioned and presented well. Great, easy lunch. I can't see what anyone would complain about. It's a bistro. It's not Bob Evans.

I have to say this is so far one of my favorite places in Delaware. If its a date night- I like to go here. Its a classy little hole in the wall. The atmosphere is amazing. There isn't anything on their menu that I haven't liked (except their shrimp and grits... only cause I'm allergic...) . My favorite is the pork medallions and my husband loves the shrimp and grits. and the Benye's (sp?) holy cow those are delicious. its a wonderful romantic spot. The only problem I have with this place is their portion sizes... which i get it, fancier places have smaller portions... but still- I don't want to spend over 40$ and be hungry again in an hour.

I really enjoyed my visit to 1808 .. Ambiance was nice .. live acoustic music in the bar .. and they had Hendricks Gin .. great start! For appetizers, my partner in crime and I ordered off their seasonal menu the "Baked Scallops", which to my surprise were actually "Scallops Rockefeller" and they were delicious. We shared 3 and I wanted about 30 more! Definite hit in my book. We skipped the "Insalata" and went straight for the "Mains". I ordered off their regular menu, the "The 48-hour Short Rib" which was "sous vide" cooked boneless short-rib in ... what the menu described as "its own lightly seasoned juices for two days until fall apart tender" .. Which they did and they were superb with the "Red Wine Demi-glace" drizzled on it. Sides for my meal included. "House Mashed Potatoes" and "Haricots Verts with Wild Mushrooms" all of which were very tasty. My partner in crime ordered off the "Special" seasonal menu and chose "Lobster Risotto" which featured a "Butter Poached Lobster Tail" "Leek" and risotto made with Lobster Stock". The risotto was a tad "tight" and lacked bold flavors. We both wanted more in the dish. It was seasoned perfectly but lacked that "punch" I expect from a well designed risotto. We skipped dessert, but both ordered another cocktail .. my partner ordered a "Kettle One Extra Dirty Martini" and I a Hendricks & Tonic with Cucumber"! Overall, I give 1808 American Bistro the highest rating and can't wait to go back! Give this place a try in historic downtown Delaware .. money well spent!

We enjoy all of the diversity of food throughout this area and all over the U.S. Last night we ate at the 1808 for the first time. Let me say that this place is the real deal. Every single dish that came to our table was amazing and everything else I saw pass our table looked so good. The calamari appetizer was good and my shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had. An excellent sauce paired with sausage and shrimp. The grits were perfect. It is obvious that this place is run by a great team, and the chef knows what he/she is doing. The server was excellent and timing was perfect. Not to mention the outstanding beer selection!! So happy to have this place close to home they set the bar for premier dining!

Having a gluten intolerance, it's hard enough going to restaurants. My family and I went for their Mother's Day brunch, the condensed menu had some gluten free choices without certain things - which I'm used to, so after making my choice we waited (A VERY LONG TIME). When the waitress brought out the starter, biscuits, she went to give me a plate and took it back saying "oh yeah, you won't want this". It's not that I don't want it its that I'll be very sick if I eat it. Meal came, it was good, dessert time. ONE gluten free item was créme brûlée. Which they were out of. "You can just order the cheesecake and scoop it out of the crust". AS IF. It doesn't work that way. I'm severely disappointed in her attitude towards my medical issue treating it as though it was a choice.

Came here for date night last weekend. It was a wonderful experience. Have to say, I had one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. The truffle butter is to die for and can be ordered on any of their steaks. Before dinner, we got the beer cheese appetizer, which was fantastic. They have a pretty awesome beer selection too. I was pleased to see Jackie O's Firefly Amber. My only (slight) complaint was the dessert. I ordered creme brulee and it had a bit of a lemony taste to it. I'm sure that's just their recipe, but I am a bit of a creme brulee purist, and had I known it had a lemon twist to it, I may have ordered something else. I will definitely be coming back here.

Nice environment. The building is Awesome. Large selection of spirits. Food is great. Cooked steak exactly as I asked. A person in my party was not happy with how his steak was cooked and they took care of him. All around good experience. Not too loud. We were able to sit around and talk comfortably.

We went there for dinner the other night. It was delicious! The airline chicken was quite literally the best chicken I ever had. The sinner drink was also to die for. Highly recommend it! This is going to be one of our new go to places for date night from now on!

I had probably the best, if not the closest to best filet mignon at 1808. It was delicious and cooked perfectly (medium-rare). Had a great dinner, will definitely go back.

I never venture out from the comforts of Clintonville/Downtown/Grandview dining, but boy, I'm so glad that I did. I've been hearing foodie rumblings about this place for a bit and when a friend recently suggested that we dine here for a girl's night out, I was super excited. First, the ambiance. This establishment is reminiscent of New England and honestly, I could not tell that I was in Delaware, OH. Of course, this area has a vibrant community thanks to Ohio Wesleyan, but I always seem to forget that. Anyways, great people watching. If that's your thing, sit at the bar. Lots of visual variety. Next, the cocktails. The bar menu is very innovatively crafted with tons of craft beers and cocktails that incorporate beer. I had a bourbon based drink (The Blackberry Forrester) and it was very delicious and not overtly sweet. My friend had the Sinner (vodka, St. Germain, lemon, simple syrup) and again, it was well-balanced and very refreshing. For our appetizer course, we split the whole roasted cauliflower served with goat cheese. I'm loving the new trend of cooking vegetables like meat and letting them take the center piece. The cauliflower was perfectly roasted and tender, though I wish there were more crispy, caramelized edges. The goat cheese was mixed with perhaps horseradish and it gave the dish a nice bite. We also got the bread service which was totally worth it for $2 (small baguette basted with butter and sprinkled with parm; served with olive oil and butter). For dinner, I picked two smaller plates to truly get a feel for the place. I firmly believe that one can determine the chef's skill by judging how s/he prepares and eggs. So I chose the asparagus two ways (sous vide white asparagus and shaved crisp asparagus) served with a 62.5 degree sous vide egg and the Scotch eggs. The asparagus salad was a delight and truly celebrated the seasonal vegetable. The egg was perfectly cooked: slightly runny exterior with firm interior. The casing for the Scotch eggs was also delicious because it was sausage-y without being greasy. The eggs were hard-boiled, but the yolk was still tender and bright yellow. My friends got the beet salad, beef tamale, and the beef cheek ravioli (all seasonal), and both proclaimed that the dishes were excellent. Overall, service was good--our waiter was attentive without being too pushy and was there at the appropriate times to take our appetizer and entree orders. If you're a fan of New American cuisine, definitely give this place a go even though it's a hike!

As other reviewers have mentioned, the bread service is a must try. Brought out on a wood plank and served with seasoned butter and olive oil for dipping. The steaks are great and I have never been disappointed when I've ordered it. In fact, if I am in the mood for a good steak, 1808 is the first place that comes to mind. I am not a beer drinker, but friends that I have dined with there say the beer is great and the selection is plentiful. Great dining atmosphere, too.

This restaurant never disappoints. We have been coming here for many years and just made it here for Brunch. Highly recommend. The menu is perfect with something for everyone wanting breakfast or lunch. Both sweet and savory dishes. Endless Bloody Mary, greyhound, bellini.

Man, this is a tough one to rate. We had fantastic appetizers (beef carpaccio and calamari) and an incredible dessert (beignets). Our server was knowledgeable regarding the menu and incredibly warm throughout the meal. Drink service was very slow, but forgivable. The entrées...terrible. What appears to be marketed as their signature dish (the 48 hour short rib) came out dry and only saved by the sauce. It wasn't nearly "fall apart tender" as advertised. My mashed potatoes were bland and I think there may have been one mushroom with the haricots verts. My wife had the pork tenderloin cutlets with risotto. The risotto was crunchy and not nearly close to being done. The pork itself was a very unnerving shade of pink. We've been assured that it due to the sous-vide method of preparation. Well, my wife has been violently ill since coming home. I called the restaurant and spoke with Matthew, the closing manager. After a not so genuine apology, I was floored by what happened next... I was encouraged to contact the Delaware Board of Health to lodge a complaint. Wow. Thanks, 1808, for a great kickoff to Valentine's Day weekend. Won't be returning, ever, and I highly suggest no one else does.

The beer selection here is STELLAR. If you're an IPA fan, you must visit. Lunch menu is affordable, but dinner menu will set you back a bit. The burger is $16, grilled cheese is $11. We ordered apps and the Korean fried chicken was very good.

1808 is greatly overrated. The menu used to be better (more variety and more innovation) but the more recent incarnations are lack luster. The martini Monday Happy Hour was terrific but that's gone too. This isn't a bad place, you can get an okay meal, but I am really surprised by all the rave reviews. My main issue with 1808 is the staff which, with the exception on one or two members, ranges from incompetent at best to aggressively hostile at worst.

  • John D.

Have to say the food has never risen above 3 stars. Mostly it is 2 star at best. Very pedestrian offerings and executed poorly. If this place was a bar it would be 5 stars. Perhaps that is what management was shooting for, a bar that had some sort of food offerings. This is the place to get drinks before heading off to find better food (like Mi Cerittos).

We've eaten there a number of times in the past few months and haven't been disappointed by the food or service yet. As someone else mentioned, the shrimp & grits were out of this world though a bit salty last time. The steak frittes, the pasta/chicken pesto, the salmon, even the grilled cheese always delicious. My only complaint is the charge for bread.

  • P B.

The food is delicious but something went wrong between the appetizer and the entrees. We shared a Beets 4 Ways appetizer that arrived quickly and was very interesting. I think I'm really going to really like this place. Then we waited and waited and waited for our entrees. At 25 minutes, our server came out with a complimentary bread board and assured us our entrees would arrive soon.....another 15 minutes and finally our meals arrived. Maybe they had to go catch another fish? My salmon burger was very good. Our server offered complimentary desserts in consideration of the service debacle which was appropriate. Since we didn't want dessert which was priced about the same as appetizers, we requested that our appetizer be complimentary instead. Agreed and high fives all around. (not really) We can recommend the food at 1808 and no other diners seemed to have the delayed service problem we experienced, so it was our bad karma. Would try this place again if we get back to Delaware. Interesting food, well prepared and pleasant atmosphere for conversation.

Lunch menu is extremely limited, I don't even bother going there anymore with such a poor selection. I give the lunch review 1 star. Dinner menu and atmosphere is a 5-star rating...so that averages out to 3 stars. Better food selection, although the prices are high for the quality of food you get. Good alcohol/beer selection, my wife loves going there so we do.

So I was wandering downtown Delaware, thinking how to commemorate my birthday (okay so it was a day early but I only get off at a reasonable hour once a week) and I noticed that there weren't many people in 1808.... and hey, nothing like drowning the sorrows of another wrinkle in a tasty meal, so I dropped in. Great choice. I ordered the smoked chicken ravioli, the flavors of which blended together into one mass of delicious. All the taste buds were excited... tangy, sour, smoky, and a bit sweet all in one extremely filling meal. I'd definitely order this again! Since hey, I'm getting older and only live once, I also gave a try to their creme brulee which was just incredible. Super smooth with a hint of orange flavor, it was topped with a dollop of real whipped cream and a very fresh, flavorful berry. I've had brulee equal to this, but never any better. I also gave a try to the cream stout they had on the menu which was fantastic. I guess there aren't any special deals for birthdays, or at least if there are the server didn't tell me when I mentioned the reason I'd come in, but I might end up making this a tradition anyways. Birthday brulee. Why not?

If you want bread with your meal you'll have to pay an extra 3.00. I feel if you are paying 25.00 for per entree bread would be included. If you would like to replace your potatoes with pasta there is an additional 4.00 for the swap. Would not visit this restaurant again.

Came here with my family for dinner on Wednesday evening. It opens at 4:00. We arrived shortly before, and were thrilled that they had their doors unlocked and were willing to seat us anyway. Once seated, our server introduced herself right away. She provided history on the restaurant and bar items, as well as the chefs, since this was our first visit. The menu isn't extensive. but the choices are more than enough. We decided on having the roasted cauliflower with goat cheese for our appetizer, which was wonderful. I've never seen that on any menu. Very pleased. I chose the 1808 burger for my meal, which was delicious. The server informed me it would be steamed medium, and it came out perfectly. The bun wasn't soaked; it was lightly toasted, and had all of the condiments that it advertised. Fries are always "meh," but I still enjoyed them. I hear the shrimp and grits is fantastic; I would love to go back and try another meal, especially dessert. It sounded wonderful.

Very flavorful food - the cauliflower and calamari apps were great starters. The 48 hour short ribs didn't fall apart but had good flavor. My husband loved the shrimp & grits. Our waiter, Sean, was attentive and quite fun. Bar service is somewhat slow so if you're in the mood for drinking, order 2 at a time. A definite return.

Awesome gem nestled in downtown Delaware, Oh. Found it on yelp. Rave reviews. Menu looked amazing so we rode the motorcycle up from Columbus and took a seat at the bar. Service rocked despite it being busy. Food was great - pasta dish was delish. Would and will totally go back!

I've heard a lot about 1808, ranging from excellent to so-so. Our experience was so-so. I made a reservation, but when we arrived the two hostesses (why two?) said reservations are never needed. They were right--plenty of empty tables on a Friday night at 7. First, the decor and the chairs. We were seated in the main dining area. The chairs are the most uncomfortable seats we have ever been in. They are wooden chairs with the chair back at a torture angle. We looked around, and everyone was sitting like a dancer. There was no way to be comfortable. The decor is OK. Like most retrofitted retail stores built in the 1900s. A lot of black and red. The cavernous ceilings make it seem less than intimate. The food was bleh. We had the Chef's special appetizer, a ricotta blend served with the house bread. It was brought to our table lukewarm, and while fun to nosh, I wouldn't order it again. I had the hamburger, because nothing else seemed interesting. It was served lukewarm with lukewarm grocery store fries, which were supposed to be hand-cut. Nothing hand-cut about them. The bottom of the roll was disgustingly seeped in fat. I left most of it. My wife had a salad, that was good. Wouldn't suggest this place. If you do try it, ask to be seated in a booth.

Made birthday dinner reservations for party of 20 a month prior to Dec 12th and was told by the manager that they would be delighted to have us. I emailed the manager back a week prior to our reservation date to ask her if it would be possible to add 2 more seats to our party of 20 & was told that it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived at 1808, our table only had 16 seats. My own guests had to drag another table over to our big table so that they had a place to sit. I was not at all happy about that. It was obvious that from the get-go, they weren't ready for our big party. That became even clearer, when only one gal showed up as our server. I was thinking to myself, how in the world is this one gal going to be able to serve 22 people....well SHE COULDN"T! She started off okay taking the first round of drink orders and getting them out fairly quickly but service fell off a cliff thereafter. She began taking longer & longer getting drinks out to all of us and then didn't start taking our food order until 9:15pm. She then literally disappeared for about 45min so no one had drinks that entire time we were all waiting for our meals. When she finally arrived back to our table with our meals, my lobster risotto was cold and a friend's fish was completely raw & other meals were just luke warm. At this point, my guests said that we needed to say something so I decided to have that conversation with our server. I pointed out that she had disappeared for such a long time that everyone thought she had walked off the job completely. I basically said that had she apologized to us for the long wait for our food & kept the drinks coming, we probably wouldn't have cared but she couldn't even manage to do that. At this point, she started to argue with me and I had to shut her down before I went ballistic. I immediately asked to speak to the manager. So after going through the events of the night with him, he did agree to comp 2 meals and take 20% off everyone else's bill. The entire experience was so extremely disappointing not to mention embarrassing for me that I had asked 22 of my friends to join me at this place and this was their experience. By the way, our waitress failed to ask at the beginning how the bills were to be split up so it took another 20min for them to figure that out. By the time we left, it was 11:15pm and no one else was left in the place. We got there at 8pm, mind you. Needless to say, 22 people will NEVER be going back to 1808 and obviously they will all be telling other folks not to bother with this place. It was a complete BIRTHDAY BUST even though they had a full month to prepare for a party of 22.

What a great find on the 4th of July. We haven't been to 1808 in several years. This iteration is quite good. Started with the roasted cauliflower appetizer. What a unique dish. Had the filet medallions and rainbow trout for dinner. We could not have been happier. We live downtown. If this place was in the short north, German Village, or Clintonville you wouldn't be able to get in the place!

Eh. Decor- A. Drinks and appetizers- A. Dinner- C-. Dessert- B+. I enjoy going to the bar for a drink and an appetizer. But frankly, I'd skip dinner altogether. I find this restaurant to be a bit overpriced for what it is. If the food were exceptional- then I'd understand the more expensive prices, but really it's just average. The food wasn't terrible but it just wasn't worth $80 for 2 people either. The bartender is a really nice woman who is always cheerful and helpful when we sit at the bar. I notice her often get really backed up with the demand for drinks and therefore service can get slow. But that happens. I do have to say dessert was a highlight. The beignets are delicious. Fluffy pillowy little donuts that you dip in chocolate. Yum.

OK, OK... let me explain. This will mean a lot to you if you're a beer nut. Otherwise this review may be irrelevant. I don't live anywhere near Delaware, but I have very good friends that live there. I'm a beer nut, and give high marks for bars and especially restaurants that make a strong effort to offer GREAT beer. 1808 has a great beer list. A GREAT one. Not just a wide selection, but off-the-beaten-path beers. Rare limited edition beers. The bottom line is that whoever orders their beer cares a lot about high-quality, diversity, and special beer. They even offer crazily reasonable samples, up to 2 per person for 25 or 50 cents. So far, pretty awesome. With me....? The bad part is that they are clearly expecting me to pay that guy's salary. The beer prices are higher than anywhere I've ever been, bar none. $10-$12 PER PINT is not uncommon here, while the same beer elsewhere is literally half that price. Now granted, they have some pretty rare beers on occasion. But there are at least a dozen great places in Cols to get world-class beer and none of which charge $10 per pint. Case in point, Bell's Hopslam is pretty common now, even during it's short lifespan in late winter/early spring. Even places like Mellow Muchroom on Polaris sell this for about $5 or $6 per pint. 1808... $10.50. It's just nuts. Now if the food was out of this world like Deep Wood, I would chalk it up to location and hype. But I would sum up the food as just fine. It's what I'd expect a $10 hamburger to be- good. The short ribs were nothing like the writeup in... sorry, I forget, probably 614 Magazine? It's a shame, really. If the beer was in line with every other establishment offering great beer in central Ohio, I'd make the 45 minute drive. It's severely overpriced and the food is not remarkable. Please win me back, 1808... please! PS- Finally offering happy hour with $10 pints now $5 is a step in the right direction. But stop the game of discounting crazy markups and just do it right the first time.

After reading the rest of the reviews, I was excited to try out 1808 and it did not disappoint. I also have an update to Diesel's beer nut review: Happy hour (1/2 off beer) is all day Monday and 4-7 all other days. We ate after 7, but the pint prices were in the neighborhood of $5-9. Between the three of us that went we had the Goat Cheese Mezzaluna, 48 hr short ribs, and shrimp and grits. All 3 dishes came out as the other reviewers mentioned, excellent. The shrimp and grits passed the test of my co-worker from the south (although they were more polenta-y). Don't forget the beignets for dessert. The hummus appetizer was good, but not worth it unless you're craving hummus. Other pros: Knowledgeable & friendly wait staff, well-mixed drinks, good service timing Cons: Rather empty for 7:30pm, parking was confusing with all the non-restaurant spots, too much A/C in the back room.

This was my second time at 1808. We had a group of 6 people, reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were seated right away. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was friendly but a bit slow. They were short staffed according to our server. We weren't in a hurry and were enjoying the company so no big deal. We ordered a few rounds of drinks. They were out of ginger beer for the Moscow Mules and out of a certain type of bourbon my friend was interested in. The beer selection is great and the cocktails were delicious, but on the small side for the price. We ordered several starters. Calamari, cauliflower, smoked wings, and beer cheese. The calamari was awesome.. Nice and tender. The cauliflower was the best vegetable I have ever eaten. GET IT! The dinners were good. They were out of the scallops so they were subbing with sea bass I believe. I had the almond chicken salad. The dressing was out of this world .. Maple balsamic. The chicken seemed a bit overcooked, but still very delicious with the almond breading. Nothing too bad to say other than I wish they hadn't been out of three things we wanted to try. We will be back for more cauliflower soon!

Gotta love a place that embraces the sous vide cooking technique. We go to this area once a year to play golf and try to hit this place every time. The craft beers have been really good, and we've found the food to be excellent.

Went for lunch, and it was good. Went for dinner and it was great. I had the steak medallians with asparagus. My husband had the shrimp and grits. Both of us thought our selections were divine. We love the atmosphere, except that darn wobbly table, and love that it is close to home and you can walk across the street for a movie afterward to clomplete a great date night. I would highly reccomend 1808!

My husband and I found ourselves staying in Delaware, OH in a military move from NY to IL. We stumbled upon this place. On a busy Friday night, we were quickly seated in the bar. Our personable waiter took our appetizer order (beef carpaccio) reassuring us (neither of whom had ever tried it) that it was fantastic. It did not disappoint. Our meals of veal pasta and cajun-crab and crawfish cakes were equally awesome. We later found out that out waiter, Matty, had only been working there 2 weeks. They must have a very comprehensive training program, we never would have known the difference! We will go out of our way to return if we ever find ourselves back in Ohio. The only negative we could find is that they do not offer a military discoun. Great experience, thank you for making it memorable! ****We dined at a chain restaurant the night before. The bill ended up being within $2 of the one tonight. The food at 1808 was far superior as was the experience and atmosphere.

I could've went to Walmart and bought and made my own steak better than what I was served. Both mine and my dates meals were cold, my steak was over cooked (or maybe it had been sitting for too long which could explain why it was cold too). Our bread was also old and hard. Service was ok considering how busy it was. Their menu changes daily based on what's fresh, however, what I wanted to order was out and was substituted for a Tbone...would have been nice for their menu to be updated or at least warned as soon as I sat down so I wouldn't get my hopes up. I would not recommend this place, for how expensive it is, you would expect at least warm food.

Very disappointed .. Manager willing to give up $58 bill for side of Mac and. Cheese. Apparently portioned out even at. 8:40 with no one around. Figure that out?

Delicious! We've been here several times, both with large parties and as a party of 2. Regardless of the group size, service was great and we've always been impressed with the food. Get the Bread service and don't miss the Beignets for dessert! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Good food with a very eclectic menu. Can't beleive I just found this place and will return. Try some of the items you have not had before---the cauliflower app is really good. This is a place to experience....let the server or menu giude you to some interesting ittems....

Something has changed at 1808 recently. Like someone else said, I wonder if they are trying to head more toward a bar vs. a restaurant. The waitstaff appears to be all new and the menu has shrunk considerably. Gone are the delicious filet topped salad and pork belly. The also excellent shrimp and grits is still on the menu, but the portion is noticeably smaller. The happy hour drinks are still good and a good deal. But overall, the changes mean it's not worth our driving up from northern Columbus like it used to be.

Best sweet potato fries and guacamole ever!!!!!! We ordered a salad and the portion was so huge we shared among 2 people and for the price, you can't beat it. I recommend their almond chicken salad only 10$ and it's fantastic! Their burger is delicious too, it comes with fries and you can replace regular with sweet potato fries! The 48 hour short rib is worth trying- so tender, so good. What else is good....oh, their beignets! freshly made, puffy, warm and comes with a small cute little cup of cappuccino. Perfect way to end a dinner.

I've come here a few times with my in-laws because it's in between us and them... would I go out of my way to come here on my own? Probably not. Would I fuss about having to going here to my husband? No. It's somewhere in between. We've tried a range of dishes here - short rib, fried chicken, beignets, some pasta, pork belly. Everything is good, just not phenomenal. And the beignets are nothing like Cafe Du Monde's or Grand Lux's in Chicago. Service is usually good.

I really enjoyed this place and I will definitely be back. It's hard to find this kind of food in delaware. Well cooked, reasonable portions, fantastic combination of elements making well crafted meals. I had the Classic Mediterranean Hummus, and Beef Carpaccio for appetizers. The hummus was great with a hint of olive, and the carpaccio was awesome, loved the sauce. For dinner I had the Filet Medallions with red wine, perfectly cooked, melted in my mouth. And to my surprise I found out one of their chef's is from New Orleans, so I tried the Beignets and they were fantastic!

This place looked good. The menu items seemed tasty. We went in during lunch about 1 or 2 o'clock. We had our two small children with us our 4 year old son and 20 month old daughter. They had a kids menu so I assumed they were kid friendly. We waited about an hour and finally got our soup. We ate it and fed it to the kids. But after waiting so long the kids started to get antsy. Then the "chef" came out and said we had to keep the baby quiet so my hubby gave him a few choice words and out the door we went! Never again will I go there even if it was the last place in the world to eat!

I really want to like this place. The restaurant itself is really nice, and the food is good. But the service at lunch is sooo slow. Not the place to go when you're on a time limit. By the time I got my food I only had 15 minutes left of my hour lunch to eat and walk back to work.
