I have only gotten burgers here- they do come in different sizes which is nice. The burgers have always been good. Have also heard great reviews from my group about the walleye. The only downfall for me is that burgers are served with chips and you have to pay to upgrade to fries.

One of the best burgers in Dayton! What I especially like is that you can get it in smaller sizes and it's still got generous portions. I also tried the ham and cheese sandwich and it was pretty good - but seriously, you just need to get the burger. And onion rings, oh yum, the onion rings! It's a small place so you either need to go at an off time or plan to hover for a seat. Not much for ambiance here, so don't expect anything fancy. It's definitely a neighborhood bar.

Little place in Belmont if you blink you will miss it. They have the best burgers I have ever tasted. Great atmosphere, and great service! Who knew they have been here since 1948?!?

From a very young age I have always loved a good burger and I am always in search of the perfect burger and Slyder's just may have the best burger in town. So to start with, this looks like your typical sports tavern in an older neighborhood. The interior was older, but was very clean. It was simply an older tavern but had a good amount of lunch time traffic. Our server greeted us and sat us right away. Immediately took our drink orders and as others from our party joined, they were there to take their orders as well. The server was friendly, got our orders correct, and checked on us several times without being too attentive. Which brings us to the reason I was there...the burgers. I was told by two friends that they were the best in Dayton. After having one they are definitely in the top tier. The beef was flavorful, maybe just a little overlooked for my liking and thus 4 stars instead of 5. But I didn't ask for medium either so next time I will correct that. The toppings were fresh and tasty. The bun was ok, toasted which is good, but ok. I will definitely will go back for the burger again and will probably try the wings some time too...

Saturday wing specials and burgers are the best. I also like the daily specials, nice local tavern.

The owner is a dick. The wait staff are idiots. Not sure how the cooks can make the food with that tiny kitchen.

This is a great, old neighborhood bar. It has that cozy feeling inside that patrons like myself really have an appreciation for. Rustic and real, rather than glitzy and hip. So really, don't go (Dank B.) if you aren't looking for this type of establishment. They have good food and like everyone else has said, the burger is awesome.

Great burgers and good fries. Super busy on the weekends. My only complaint is that a few times we had to eat somewhere else because they were so busy there was no place to sit. Fairly decent selection of beers on tap and service is pretty quick.

This place has the best burgers in town. For beer drinkers they have a good variety of tap beers. The atmosphere is quite comfortable and friendly.

Not kidding, these are some of the best hot wings I've ever had. The service is good and the food is always consistent.

It's a typical old school bar but the burgers are some of the best in the area and there walleye on Fridays is fresh and very tasty, reasonable prices, good service , friendly staff, a Belmont tradition.

I have liked everything that I've ordered here, and that is almost the entire menu short of the salads. Decent little beer selection too.

I've ate there twice now. The first time I got a 7 oz. bacon cheeseburger and some chili cheese fries. The chili on the fries was a little runny and the dice on the onions were a bit big for the dish, but it tasted fine. The bacon cheeseburger was incredible. A bit messy from all the fixings but worth it. The second time would have been this past Friday after a bad Tank's incident but when we stopped in, around 8, it was an hour wait to get a table. The second time was actually this Saturday. We still had a 10-20 minute wait for a table so we ate at the bar. I ordered the 10 oz bacon cheeseburger and fries and it was just as incredible as the first one I had. This place is a no-frills place and it is hopping every time I go there but I was well taken care of. The price is good. The food is above the price.

Saturday night, ready for a fight or a frolic...since Miss Mona and I were staying overnight and we were dining at Slyders, I got both! We YELPED for Daytons best burger..what we got was Slyders... The next day on quesy tummies, we jetted off to Mexico; so Hey! No worries!

The best place in Dayton for a great burger. It may be small, but they make a mean burger. My favorite is the Monday BBQ bacon burger, or the or the Thursday special Giuseppe burger. The Friday fish is very good also

I've lived close to Slyder's for several years and just recently tried it. The food was amazing. The hamburgers and wings are as good as you're going to get. The service was friendly. The drinks were cold. It's a no frills place. It's inexpensive and very good.

I live in the neighborhood and eat here quite frequently. I have always found that we have had great service. They usually ask me if I want a refill when I am down about 2/3 of the glass. It is not fancy, and does get busy and fill up quickly but have always been satisfied with our food. My wife recommends the reuben sandwich. I have had multiple burgers and like the club sandwich as well. I just brought a friend of mine there that I haven't seen in 20 years and he couldn't say enough about how good he thought it was.

Conclusion: Everything here has been a positive experience for me, so I'd really give it a 4.5/5.0 (however overall food taste is a tad bit less than a 4.5). Come here for slightly above average unhealthy food that will fill you up for really cheap. Hard to beat the cost v. utility during HH and on their special nights. I like it for what it is, a greasy spoon. Don't expect a 5 star meal or mahogany wood with a copper bar top here. Expect friendly staff, good service, hot food, extremely reasonable prices, good cold beer, and not to be screwed by the management. Do it right and you'll walk out completely full with a 2-3 beers and a good tip for around $16 give or take. This pretty much sums up this place, if you want specifics, read on. Disclosure: Although I have only been here on Thursdays for the Giuseppe burger special, I have visited about 5-6 times this year. I would like to try their wings (Saturday night special), and their Fish (Friday). Hopefully I can update my review sometime. ****TIPS*****: (1) SLYDER GIUSEPPE BURGER ON THURSDAY: This is very important. As soon as the burger arrives, flip it over. This keeps the bottom of the bun from getting too soggy. Otherwise, it gets a little moist, and this makes it much better. (2) If you come early enough for happy hour, ask about the mini domestic pitchers. Its about 2 maybe 2.5 beers and is so cheap. Service: It has been slam packed every time I have been there. Of all the times I have been there, it couldn't have been better. Food seems to come out pretty fast (30 minutes or so), and they are quick to get you your first drink and any refills. They do, however, seem to cater to the regulars (which I'm not). But why shouldn't they? Staff: I talked to who I believe is the owner on several occasions. He's usually working there on busy evenings. Great guy that will seemingly treat you fair and make it right if you are genuine. He definitely cares about his business. Other staff members are cheerful and friendly. Haven't met a person I don't like there. Last time I visited, the hostess or some other staff member was joking around with us about something that would not be P.C. (politically correct) at most places. She said a joke to us that some might take offense to, but she read us right. My friend and I thought it was pretty funny, and so did other customers. We were having fun with the staff joking around and vice versa. You don't get that kind of experience at Red Robin if you know what I'm saying. Food: At first, I didn't think the Slyder burger was that great. Maybe a 3.5/5. I think because I didn't like that it only had a roasted pepper on it. But now I order lettuce, tomato, and onion on the side. It grew on me and I'd say it's at most a B+ (4 possibly a 4.25 out of 5 for a burger depending on the day). I'm pretty harsh on my burger reviews though. The french fries are standard, but have always been served piping hot. The onion rings are also standard (hard to beat), but served very hot. Beers: Have a handful of very good beers on tap that regularly change (Ranger IPA, Fat Head, I believe Breckenridge Brewery, Goose Island, etc.). You'll definitely find something you like.

Slyder's is known to have the best burgers in Dayton, cooked in an old iron skillet. The mushroom burger is the best with one of their many ice cold beers. I grew up going to this place, my Grandmother visited Slyder's since they opened back in 1940's. During my recent visit we received excellent service. Waitress took order very quickly, two fellow staff members checked on us throughout our visit & burger was delivered to our table in 10 minutes a record. A must for any visit to Dayton!

I went here on a recommendation of a friend. It was a weekday and I decided to catch a bite with my brother and see if the burgers lived up expectations. Outside and inside the place was nothing special. However, I like places like this, several of my favorites are hidden gems that look a little worn. We took a seat and the waitress took our drink order. Then we waited... looked around... waited... noticed there were about 8 people in the place including us... waited... Ahhhh, the drinks, a mere 15 minutes later. No matter, I was here for an awesome burger and some times awesome burgers take time. We put in our order for two burgers. Then we waited for the burgers. If I knew the burgers were going to take a while (much like the drinks) I would've left and picked up something somewhere else. 45 minutes later our meals showed up and I expected them to be crafted by the hand of God, or Jesus, shoot one of the apostles could've flipped the burgers for all I cared. And it's not that they weren't good, they were just... good. Not worth the wait, I can say that. The best part about it all was right before we left (70 minutes after we got there) a transformer blew up down the street and shut off most the power (it was a brown-out, a lot of the lighting was still on). I only had a credit card to pay with and they argued with me saying I had to pay in cash. I reasoned they could take my CC number and charge it when their machines get back online. You would've thought I was explaining quantum physics to her when I told her this. Her boss told her to just take my number and let me leave. Needless to say, Slyder's won't be getting my business any time soon... okay, maybe I'll grab a beer in the next few months and we'll work our way up to a meal one of these days.

A fine neighborhood tavern in the best of neighborhood tavern tradition. Owner Joe has a fine crew to immediately take your beverage order and provide you with a menu. Don't miss the daily special (Friday is walleye night). I just can't seem to order anything (except on Friday) but the pork tenderloin sandwich; it is as big as your head. Great atmosphere with cold beer and very good food, what's not to like?
