Great food and a nice, comfortable atmosphere. Sometimes the service is a little slow, though. Their house dressing is DELICIOUS- has a lot of dill and garlic. I dip everything in it! Their dinners are pretty good, and there are plenty options for healthy eaters, but their sandwich selection is their best asset, I think. They also have a "Dinner for Two" combo that's quite inexpensive and comes with an appetizer and dessert! The place is small, I wouldn't come here with more than 3 other people.

Ok, mom and pop restaurants make me excited. Mom and Pop restaurants that have good Traditional American Fare and .....yummy Hummus...I'm almost orgasmic. They have healthy, organic, and vegetarian options (which is hard to find in a mom/pop establishment) The only problem there is..sometimes, you can get a waiter or waitress that isn't very good. But, I've been a server...its a hard job, especially in kind of cramped place. I kind of like the decor, and feel of the place. Its very "down-home" as my momma would say.

Christopher's is like an island oasis in a desert of chain restaurants. I know it sounds stupid, but it is true. I've been coming here for several years on and off when I have lived in the area, and normally when I come back to visit family and they want to grab dinner, this is where I suggest. The interior is cozy Americana. Not necessarily my style, but I can overlook it because of the excellent waitstaff and good vegetarian food. Now that's not to say that the whole menu is veggie, because it's not. They just happen to have many many items which can be prepared vegetarian or vegan. They do breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and have specials for all meal times. They are NOT open on Sundays, just FYI. I adore the vegetarian chili, which is chock full of vegetables and not meat substitute. as well as the ever changing menu of specials. They use a great salad mix, no bagged iceberg lettuce here! The vegetable strudel and saffron risotto are excellent hot dinner items. Overall it's a really healthy menu with lots of options for picky eaters or those with meat restrictions. Cost wise it is also fairly budget friendly. And for the area, which is a bit lacking in independently owned restaurants of the non-ethnic food variety, it is a cherished place.

Wow! Anywhere in Dayton we can get non-chain, house made veggie burgers, meatless biscuits and gravy, and supporters of organic cuisine, count us in. Very reasonably priced.

We enjoyed breakfast here this morning with family; seated quickly and ready to take our order as soon as we finished visiting :) Everything we ordered came out in a timely manner, hot and delicious. The coffee kept on coming, too. A nice place to dine for any meal.

This place was basically my first Dayton experience -- I'd never been there before, but drove up yesterday for lunch with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of the menu, including tons of vegetarian options. I got the falafel sandwich, which was wrapped in a tortilla instead of pita; I found that a little unusual, but the thinner bread made the sandwich easier to handle. It was pretty tasty and filling, though maybe not as flavorful as it could have been. (Next time, I might put the pickle that came on the side right into the sandwich.) Service and ambiance were both fine. Overall, Christopher's was a great introduction to Dayton -- yes, it's a strip-mall diner, but they've definitely taken the stereotype of strip-mall diner food up a notch. Should I have the chance to visit lovely Dayton again, I'd go back.

Definitely try the mint iced tea!

Don't get the chicken parmigiana- it's just a piece of grilled chicken on top of spaghetti with some shaved Parmesan. Should call it chicken on spaghetti. Bread is really bland. The hummus plate comes with white bread pita.

So so homey--Homestyle cooking, relaxing atmosphere, and NO, Olive Garden--When you're HERE you're family. Win-win-win for food, service and price.

This place isn't that wonderful! We had terrible service, place is VERY outdated looking and the food wasn't that great. Will not go back.

Thought I loved this place last time, not sure I remembered it correctly. Ordered mushroom bisque. Who puts grated carrot in mushroom soup? Totally ruined texture and taste for me. Ordered the fancy grilled cheese sandwich. Menu lists half size prices, so was expecting a decent size. It was about 6" long, but only 1.5" wide! Almost all crust(least fave part). Sandwich was way too mayonnaise-y. Tables are extremely close, barely room to sit down. My son's pancake had a weird flavor to it. Not planning a return

Our group of four was kind of cramped in a smallish booth. I had a lovely orange spice tea and a vegan black bean burger that was good. No guacamole, though, so I had avocado spread. I ended up with chips as my side. Totally my fault. I'm sure there must have been other options. I just missed them. I should have had the teriyaki vegetables. Go with those if you try the place out. I think they'll be better. They forgot our hummus plate. The tea was probably the best part. It came with an extra pitcher so you could make another cup. It was super adorable.

Excellent menu. Can't believe I've lived in dayton for 3 years and never tried this place. The stuffed tomato with tuna is excellently seasoned. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. The chicken and noodles are fabulous. This is definitely my new favorite dayton restaurant. Went for dinner last night and I am back for breakfast. Loving the eggs Benedict.

First time visit, we split a breakfast. 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes. We subbed in the butter pecan pancakes for the regular ones...50 cents more. Great service, good food, prices not bad!

  • Mama D.

They have great food and the service was not terrible, my biggest complaint is that they have entirely too many tables set up. I understand they want to try and seat as many people at a time as possible but I was literally bumped elbows with the guy at the table beside us because there were less than 4" of space between the tables. The dinner I got was chicken and noodles and I was really bummed that it was almost entirely broth. My husband got a burger and it was way overdone. I wouldn't say it was the worst, but I would not jump at the opportunity to eat there for sure.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Wait staff was a joke. Heard one waitress call another customer a fat cun*. Management seams to be missing from this place. Food was horrible. Will not return!!!

Christopher's is, hands-down, my favorite restaurant in Dayton. Reminiscent of a mom & pop place, the food is always fresh and delicious, I've never had anything from here that was anything less than amazing. If I could give one business on yelp 6 stars, this would be the one. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and have specials for all three meals that change every month, they also do special 3-course dinners sometimes. They do breakfast till 1pm, which is great for us late risers. Prices are super reasonable. Even the pickiest of eaters can find something on the menu, as it's pretty big and there is a lot to pick from. There are a decent number of options for vegetarians as well (the bf says their veggie burger is his favorite, and he's been around the block when it comes to veggie burgers.) For breakfast I'd recommend anything w/the veggie gravy and/or potato cakes. I can't even really make a recommendation for lunch/dinner because the menu is so big and everything I've had is good :P Recently tho I've had the alfredo w/portabello and it was amazing. They also have mint sweet tea that is really good -they actually throw a big spring of mint right in the tea, best part: free refills! c: If you're from the area and you've never tried this place, you need to get in here cause it's awesome!

You just cannot get a bad meal here. Every single item that we have had is wonderful. We were trying to figure how many times we had eaten here over the years, and it has definitely been a minimum of 25 times. Whenever we are going through Dayton, we manage to always stop here. Our favorite item is the chicken salad sandwich. Perfectly prepared chicken salad--all white meat, very generous portion. The herb bread is what we have always ordered, and it is wonderful. They recently had an incredible "German week" menu and we so wanted to return for that. If we lived in Dayton, we would be there at least once a week. There are so many great specials, which change often enough. When we stopped in on a Friday night a few weeks ago, we met the son of the owner, so personable, such an interest in the business. This place will be there forever. Simply decorated, but the quality of the food is always amazing to us.

I wanted to like this place more, but it was really just OK across the board. The service was fine but not exceptional. We had soup and sandwiches that were a bit bland, but not offensive in any way. The prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, nothing about the place makes me want to come back.

Yum! I love Christopher's. It's great if you're feeling a need to eat healthy & still have good tasting food or if you're looking for a quick bite that isn't fast food & is still priced well. They have a good range of food on the menu, from potato skins to salads & sandwiches to more dinner entrees, like salmon or pot roast. Just driving past the restaurant, you wouldn't even notice Christopher's because it's kind of small & located in a strip mall. The seating is sometimes cramped because there are so many people. The service is good & pretty quick.

One of the better places in Kettering that's been around for awhile. It's great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They always have great dinner specials each night. They've started severing beer and wine as well which is great. Some of my faves are the grilled cheese, kitchen sink, mushroom bisque. Only down fall, their not open on Sundays when I usually want it.

Cozy little neighborhood restaurant that has great vegetarian food too. Rotating specials keep it lively. Nice homey atmosphere, a comforting place to go that has good food, too.

Trapped inside an unassuming strip mall, is a little niche of fresh cooking and vegetarian cuisine in an eclectic, albeit slightly cramped setting. We went for breakfast which promised to be crowded and it was. This place could really use bigger digs. The seating was a bit tight and longer tables I saw seated with two different parties, so this is not an intimate place. But the food is fairly good. This time we ordered the eggs benedict with (so-called) potato pancakes (which were just actually fried frozen hash brown squares). Personally, I think of a totally different item when I think potato pancakes, usually topped with applesauce. But the hash browns were crunchy if not the real thing. The eggs benedict were good, did not taste like they were made from a mix, the sauce was intact and not broken, and the eggs were cooked correctly. We also ordered biscuits and gravy with home fries and a poached egg. The biscuits and gravy were o.k. The gravy totally obscured the biscuits inside, which seemed to steam a little bit from that which probably explained their slightly less-than-fluffy character and lack of crumb. And for those who think that biscuits and gravy might be a safe bet for those wanting something gentle and easy for the tummy (I am thinking kids here), let the eater beware, Someone has an extremely heavy hand with the black pepper. They need to lay off and let people season to extremes with the shaker if that's what they want. The home fries were good, if not really crispy the way I like. The egg was cooked perfectly but they could have drained it better. Coffee was good, the table was set with fresh flowers and the staff was attentive and friendly. We think the food here is good and will be back again. I know their omelets are very nice.

Yup. Been here several times now for breakfast and its yummy. The staff is so great and the food is creative, fast, and just plain tasty. Great coffee and I just love the flow of the place. Haven't been here for other than breakfast, but colleagues have and they say its just as great. Hats off to my good friend 'Cuda for the reco. Make this a stop and you will be hooked.

Looking at the menu brought flashbacks of episodes of hells kitchen when Gordon Ramsey browses the abundant menu with bizarre combinations. I settled on one that the waiter recommended " barbeque chicken over mashed potatoes with snow peas". Nothing was bad, but it also wasn't great. The snow peas encircled the entree i a failed attempt toward artistry. I could have enjoyed the snow peas if the stringly stem would have been removed. The best part of the meal was the peanut butter chocolate pie. If I every returned to Christopher's it would only be for the pie.

Solid breakfast. Lunch and dinner are ok but the atmosphere and staff give this place 5 stars. If you like tuna, try The Fillmore. The best tuna sandwich I've ever had.

This place defines meh. The food tastes the way the strip mall this restaurant is in looks. I read the mixed reviews but figured I'd give this place a shot since it's locally owned and has multiple vegetarian options. Had the hummus to start. I'm guessing it wasn't homemade because it was pretty bland. I also had the vegetarian chili...again, ok but nothing memorable. For my main meal, I got the vegan quinoa. The quinoa was cooked perfectly, but the smattering of vegetables thrown into the saute for good measure were very bland and almost overcooked. Everyone else at my table (except for the person who got the fatty, almost inedible steak) felt that their meals were ok but nothing to write home about. The awful looking steak is what makes this place 2 stars in my mind. I've never seen a restaurant serve such an awful looking piece of meat. I'm sure there are better locally owned restaurants in the area and I hope you can find them!

I love this place! Great food, friendly service, decent prices...what's not to love? The chicken rice soup is the best in town, other than my kitchen. The carrot cake is rich, spicy and satisfying. I also love the Mezze Plate, which is a meal sized appetizer with hummus, feta, veggies, and pita...ask for the dill dip with it...marvelous. I think of this as a lunch place and have never been for breakfast or dinner. I have friends who swear by the dinner menu. Gripes? Of course I have gripes. I'm a big guy and the booths are impossibly small, as are most of the tables. I also don't love the spicy black bean burger, which I ordered today...I'd like it crispier, maybe pan fried or toasted or something. I don't hate it. I just think it could use a little something. Overall this is a cool place with outstanding food. Given my choice I'd eat here over C'est Tout anytime...for 1/2 the price!

Don't let the outside of the restaurant scare you away, this place is a little gem! I've only been once but the servers are very friendly, and more importantly knowledgeable of their menu. Make sure you ask what the special is, I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken and potato casserole which is delicious but was not listed on the menu, or mentioned to us while ordering. I just happened to ask what their specialty was, then the server mentioned it to me.

Peanut butter pie is so amazing if you love chocolate and peanut butter! The tuna melt is quite tasty. Breakfast has always been great. Christopher's has a little bit of everything and you won't leave hungry!

I have heard positive things about this restaurant so I decided to give it a try last night and left very satisfied. I ordered the Neptune Platter (a recommendation from the waiter), it came with baked haddock, scallops, 4 shrimp, 2 crab cakes, a vegetable side and a salad. The crab cakes are quite possibly the best crab cakes I have eaten in all of Ohio. They were fantastic! The shrimp and scallops were very tasty but the haddock was over cooked and a little dry. For dessert, I had the bread pudding (shared between two of us). It was delicious and melted in my mouth. The atmosphere was country-americana. Not an atmosphere that I typically enjoy but it was a nice change and very cozy. The highlight besides the food was the friendly staff. They went out of their way to accommodate us and found a table that was kid friendly. The restaurant has a kids menu that offered the typical kids menu items but the menu prices are so reasonable, kids could order off the adult menu and not set you back more than a couple more dollars.

Used to be excellent...but it's still a great place to eat. Christopher's doesn't wow me like it used to, but it's still a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. My family has been eating here for over ten years. The menu is vast...everybody can find something from meat and potatoes to several vegan options. They can do diner food as well as 5 star food. The homemade soups are good. They've been a bit bland as of late, but nothing a little salt and pepper didn't cure. I do, however, think good food shouldn't have to be seasoned. I'm hoping things get back to the way they used to be, because their soups were one of my favorite things. The veggie omelet and burritos are wonderful for breakfast. The sandwiches are great for lunch. The turkey club is a huge double decker that's sure to please. I'm also fond of the wraps. My favorite lunch....a tie between the falafel and the southwestern chicken wrap. They always have specials, so you can try something new every time. There's something different for every day of the week. My regular go to dishes are - chicken and noodles, chicken parm, and quinoia (vegan). The last dinner special I had was a pasta dish with chicken, artichoke hearts, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach in a red wine sauce with parmesan cheese. It was around $15 and came with salad and bread. Definitely a winner. This is also one of the few places you can get a vegan dessert - apple or berry cobbler. The bread pudding and cookies are also really good.

I went here a few months ago with my sister for her birthday. It is pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. I got the veggie burger with a side salad. The veggie burger was pretty decent. I had some of my sisters vegetarian chili. That is definitely what I would get if I came back! It was delicious.

I want to love Christopher's, I really do. We try to eat at locally owned places, and when I ate here the first time (about 4 years ago), it was great. I had blackened salmon, which was delicious with the dill dressing remaining from my salad. And the bread was very good too. (The dill dressing is still my favorite thing on the menu.) Since then I've eaten there about 6 or 7 times, with declining frequency. The breakfasts are solid, but we mostly eat out for dinner... and the dinners are mostly, well, meh. I recently had the falafel and it was a few small, bland pieces of falafel with a ton of lettuce on very plain lavash bread. My daughter always orders the spaghetti (and never eats the garlic bread, which is usually the best part of a spag dinner!), and it's also just average. Most telling: I can't even remember the entrees I've had on previous occasions. They were that un-memorable. The last time we went I just ordered an apple crisp. It was very good, and the ice cream was pleasantly cinnamon-y. And on the trip with the mediocre falafel we ordered a blueberry cheesecake that was delicious. It wasn't an especially dense cheesecake-- more light and fluffy-- but the blueberries and the crust and the level of sweetness were perfect. Maybe we'll just go there for dessert from now on, and I'll ask if I can buy the dill dressing by the jar... so we can still support a local restaurant, but not eat the bland food.

I was excited when I read the menu. But when the food came out, a) I was very disappointed with the look of it and b) even more disappointed with the taste. I ordered the "saffron infused risotto." Sounds yummy, no? I heart risotto and saffron, so how could it go wrong? I also liked the fact that it was vegan since I am one, so it wasn't going to be covered and made with cheese. I guess I expected it to have some vegetables that create simple and yet great combination of flavors such as lemon zest and basil, or mushroom and asparagus, or just even peas! What came out looked like a big huge bowl filled with undercooked arborio rice with sparingly dispersed zucchini squash. Just zucchini squash with a ton of rice; hence no flavors that made me keep wanting to eat it. I was quite disappointed. Don't think I'll be going there again. The menu looks sophisticated and great, but the food is eh....My boyfriend felt the same way with his food. The stack was too greasy and big and not well assembled.

This is nice quiet place with good food. There usually is a soup and sandwich special. When I visit my daughter who lives on the edge of Kettering, I always head down Dorothy Ln to the shopping center where this place is located. No pretense here, just good food. Wish they were open on Sunday.

At the urging of friends, I decided to check out Christopher's. I have driven by it for years, but the strip mall facade kept me away. I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but it is the first impression. The interior is cramped, but cozy. None of the chairs match, but that was expected from the outside appearance. What I really came here for was the food, more precisely the crab cakes. They came plated with a spoon full of wild rice, and 11 green beans. The four crab cakes were of somewhat small size, and not lump crab as you would expect for the price. I would compare it to the consistency and texture of canned crab, which it very well may have been. I was pleasantly surprised of the taste though. Some of the best tasting crab cakes under I've had under $20. I've had plenty in this price range, and even more almost twice the price. The remoulade that accompanies the dish is nothing special, but a decent sauce all the same. What really stood out was the peanut butter pie. This is the absolute best peanut butter pie I've ever had. Not that creamy fluff, but rather dense peanut butter filling. Not overly sweet, but the chocolate sauce it a nice touch. I'm rating this four stars for the pretentious plating. If you're going to charge $17 for this dish of shredded (canned?) crab, at least put two spoon fulls of rice under it. This is Kettering, not LA.

Christopher's is inexpensive and tasty. The menu is more eclectic than the decor, but you can always expect good, prompt service and quality food. I'd suggest the vegetarian chili or the falafel. For meat eaters i've been told that the tuna salad and traditional cheeseburger is good too. Keep in mind there are also daily specials for breakfast, lunch and dinner that are posted on the table daily. Definately give Christopher's a shot! Oh,and they are closed on sunday which is a good thing to remember!

I have had their catering food years ago and thought it was pretty good so I really wanted to try it at their restaurant. Was finally able to go and was not so impressed. I have read that service has been hit or miss here and I know that it is hard job waiting tables but our order was completely wrong. I usually don't fuss and if it is something that is acceptable, I will eat it. We ordered one sandwich and got a different one. Its just a sandwich and wasn't bad, but not great. It is $5.95 for a half and $2.95 for the other half. It comes with chips. We wanted to share fries as well. So in effect, $9.00 add 1.25 for fries. The fries did not come out with the food. But after a short wait, they made it out to us. I split it with my son so wasn't so bad for cost. My wife ordered the crab cakes. She thought it came with rice as a side but it had cole slaw instead. After I looked at the bill, the waitress put the order in as the crab cake appetizer, not the dinner version. The cole slaw leaked all over the plate and so the crab cakes were soaked. Besides, the texture was a bit off and was not appetizing. She only ate a small amount and I figured the waitress would ask if they were OK but never bothered so I won't bother with coming back. I think some of problem was wait staff. I can forgive if food makes up for it but was just not the case. I don't think I can drag my wife back in to let them make up for it.

Family oriented, and a very good selection. Seem to cater to the vegetarian customer, but enough options if your not. Food and portions are really good. With so many chain restaurants around, this is a great choice and much better food than any chain. I was at a Wedding that was catered by Christopher's Restaurant and it was fantastic. The food was great and the people working did a great job. They went above and beyond!

The atmosphere is homey but the restaurant seems to cater to an older crowd and I thought the food was kind of dull. Again, I've only been there once and maybe I didn't order the right thing. So, I'll try it again if I can talk my wife into going back.

Christopher's is a healthy, reliable spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Out of the three dinner is my least favorite, I've just never had anything at dinner that has really wowed me. That being said, breakfast and lunch are solid and service is almost always on point. You seat yourself, someone drops by to get a drink order, and then your server is right behind to get you going. We generally hit breakfast every Saturday, and I don't think I've every been disappointed. They have some new beverages and desserts, try the mint sweet tea and the pistachio gelato.

Very good place to eat. It was a beautiful fall morning and the aroma of home cooking greeted us as we walked in the door. That helped to make up for lack of "umph" in the decor. In my 20 yrs in Dayton this was my first time here. I never even noticed the spot before. However my husband ate here regularly when he worked over this way. He says he never had a bad meal. Well, all that aside we both had a breakfast meal...He had the western fritattas with sausage, cheese, onion, peppers, etc. I had a sunrise omelet with avacado and bean sprouts (among other things). Both were very tasty. We also split banana pancakes and they too were delish. The only minor complaint I would have would be about the home fries... They were like a mirage...they had been fried/cooked crispy (which I love), but because they had been warmed in a steamer all the "crisp"was gone. But that's just a minor personal preference on my part. The food portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. Our waitress was friendly and humorous without being too friendly or inappropriate. Would recommend this place and will definitely be back myself for more.

This is my favorite restaurant in Dayton. So many great vegetarian options AND be sure to finish your meal with a piece of delicious carrot cake.

I'm a fan for sure. I've found very few restaurant's that can make a vegi burger my wife will eat. Christophers is one. The vegetarian chili was excellent as well. Made with real vegetables instead of TVP. The food and service were great. The Hummus appetizer was a large portion with fresh carrots and celery as well as the pita and hummus. My sandwich was excellent as well. Everything was clean. As a matter of fact the waitresses when not helping their customers were always busy cleaning and making sure everything was spotless. Our waitress was very attentive, full of suggestions and ready with iced tea refills. Even though the place was filled neither the service nor the food suffered. I'm very pleased. We will be going back. I want to try some of their vegetarian dinners

I am not a fan of Christopher's after giving it three chances to make a good impression. I should have just cut my losses the first time, but I wanted to like it since it's so close to the comic shop. The breakfast was mediocre, the grilled chicken sandwich was dry and really chewy, and the service was pretty bad all three times. However, their catering is fantastic.

Had breakfast there and it was great. The meat omelet was very good and the pancakes were also good. The service was excellent, it had that friendly hometown feel. The price was reasonable for the amount of food.

Great breakfast. The veggie sausage crumbles are very good and save lots of calories-get them in the breakfast burrito and you can't even tell the dif between these and regular sausage. Coffee refills were offered, like, 10 times...almost literally. I'm not a fan of their dinners. The side salad is made of bagged greens and carrots that taste 'chemically'. The hubby had chicken and noodles and said it tasted like Dinty Moore. Some of the items are well-imagined but not well-executed (ie: vegetable strudel, which has very weird, strong seasoning). My Greek Pasta tasted like they poured a bottle of red wine right over the pasta for the sauce-not great. It would have been better with some feta cheese. Some best bets: vegetarian chili, bread pudding, carrot cake, pancakes, breakfast burrito Overall, a nice, relaxing, friendly little place.

I've lived in Kettering for many years and have never tried Christopher's, thought it was time to see if it was up to the reviews that people have giving it lately. Our first impression of the decor was that it was designed for the older crowd, one of the reasons that I've avoided eating here all these years! Any menu with jello as a side item is not for me, none was found here thank goodness! The service was very prompt and friendly, the bread that was brought out was some type of rosemary, buttery, goodness, and very fresh! The menu selection was more than adequate from seafood to steak, lots of vegan items (skipped right over those), something for everyone it seemed. My seafood platter was well plated and everything was very fresh and tasty, my wife had the filet which was equally yummy, prepared just right. Overall a very good experience, there are quite a few items on the menu that I can't wait to try next time. Probably one of the better places in Kettering to eat.

Of any restaurant in all of the Dayton area, Christopher's is the one I would most recommend to visitors and locals alike. In a town so tragically devoid of privately owned restaurants, this place has all the goodness and idiosyncracy of a true mom-and-pop establishment. Greek, veggie, and country fare, all inexpensively priced. They have everything from Asian spring rolls to fresh-made felafel to turkey hot shots. God, I love this place. Sit in the old smoking section - you know, that second dining area, with the local artwork on the walls. Especially recommended are the tilapia dinner and the veggie chili! Oh, it hurts, being so far from you, Christopher's...

I'm actually surprised to see so many two star reviews - wonder if people had a completely different idea of what this would be? I love Christopher's - it's a unique place with lots of vegetarian options at a reasonable price. The cooking is homestyle - my favorite is the chicken and dumplings - and the desserts are fantastic. I would highly recommend getting their house dressing on your salad (dill) and ordering their mint sweet iced tea. I've never had anything better than either one. Their sandwiches are enormous and filling. I've never had bad service here, although it can be a little bit slow at times. Dayton has so many mediocre chain restaurants here... in my opinion Christopher's is a welcome alternative.

Good place, healthy food, small and easy to get in and out. But, just kind of boring. Foods tasty, but nothing star quality or crazy great. Maybe I just like really interesting places - this is good but ho hum. Yawn.

Atmosphere was kind of boring considering the eclectic offerings. It's a unique find among the suburban chain restaurant sprawl that surrounds the area. Wonderful vegetarian selections, but lunch is probably the best way to enjoy Christopher's.

Christopher's is one of my favorite places to eat when I visit my family and friends in Ohio. The sign on the window advertises "good food" and they deliver. The sandwiches are great., the dill dip is highly recommended, and the breakfast food is choice (I personally recommend the Sunriser Omlette). Sure, the decor is reminiscent of your friend's grandma's house (oh wait, isn't that her sitting at the booth over there?), but really - the food here is top notch. Oh, and it is healthy too.

My wife and I went to Christopher's this past weekend and it was excellent. In this day and age of chain restaurants it is so nice to visit a independent that offer great food and a pleasant atmosphere. From my perspective, another great feature of this place is that I don't have to fight the Mall traffic.

Don't get the chicken parmigiana- it's just a piece of grilled chicken on top of spaghetti with some shaved Parmesan. Should call it chicken on spaghetti. Bread is really bland. The hummus plate comes with white bread pita.

Cozy little neighborhood restaurant that has great vegetarian food too. Rotating specials keep it lively. Nice homey atmosphere, a comforting place to go that has good food, too.

We enjoyed breakfast here this morning with family; seated quickly and ready to take our order as soon as we finished visiting :) Everything we ordered came out in a timely manner, hot and delicious. The coffee kept on coming, too. A nice place to dine for any meal.

The atmosphere is homey but the restaurant seems to cater to an older crowd and I thought the food was kind of dull. Again, I've only been there once and maybe I didn't order the right thing. So, I'll try it again if I can talk my wife into going back.

  • John M.

Don't get the chicken parmigiana- it's just a piece of grilled chicken on top of spaghetti with some shaved Parmesan. Should call it chicken on spaghetti. Bread is really bland. The hummus plate comes with white bread pita.

First time visit, we split a breakfast. 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes. We subbed in the butter pecan pancakes for the regular ones...50 cents more. Great service, good food, prices not bad!

The mint sweet tea is awesome because they put a real sprig of mint in your glass! Some other favorites of mine are their double decker sandwich and the chicken and rice soup.

Great soups, I really like their tuna melt sandwich during the Lent season! A nice laid-back restaurant that is affordable.

Christopher's is simply the best. Amazing atmosphere, very relaxing, pleasant staff. It's the kind of food that makes you feel better. I love it.
