India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. While the Northern region boasts tandoori dishes and korma offering royal taste, the Western Ghats offers sea foods that is made in naturally sweet tender coconut milk. The South Indian food servers a quality of different dishes made from rice accompanied with spicy chutneys, curries and famous sambhar. Also, the Indian sweets are a delight to relish. If you ever want to have a burst of sugar syrup in mouth, don't forget to try few Bengali Sweets. Be it spicy, tangy, or sweet flavor, you can find everything in the Indian cuisine. Be assured that the melody of spices will surely bring delight to you.

A rating drop based strictly on the food quality from the last couple of visits. In general terms food quality seems to have dropped a bit from the old takeout days. Khyber is definitely much better right now.

I've been to two Indian/Pakistani/Desi restaurants in Columbus, and Tandoori Grill is the winner by far. Many of my friends share their ethnic heritage, and they swear by its authenticity (warning: since it IS authentic, their food is pretty SPICY- make sure to emphasize if you like your dishes mild, and/or order some mango lassi AKA mango yogurt drink to wash down the heat). More importantly, it's dang good food! My three favorite starters are: fish pakora, chicken samosa, and vegetable samosa. Many people have tried samosas before, so do yourself a favor and order the fish pakora! It's a deep-fried chickpea-battered fish, served with a zesty dipping sauce. For the main dishes, my favorite is the Nihari. The beef shanks are slow-cooked to perfection for 8+ hours. The goat/chicken Korma, and goat/chicken Karahi are excellent alternatives. If you prefer something less adventurous, the Reshmi Chicken Tikka is what I'd have my mom order (especially since she prefers only white meat). All of their meats are fresh and expertly cooked: you can tell they take pride in their food.

Place is totally unreliable. I came here twice in last 2 weeks all the way from downtown bcoz I like Pakistani food. I reached at 8.30pm both times and the guy declined to serve. Although they claim to open till 9pm. Never coming here ever.
(1)Mark M.
We were ignored for over 10 minutes. Rang the bell, tried to hail the people in back. We left! We never saw an employee. We won't be back.

We got their groupon deal after reading great Yelp reviews and we have been twice since then. The interior is nicely decorated and the staff is super nice. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (always a safe choice at any Indian restaurant) and the Lamb Tikka. Both were SO good, fresh, and delicious. They are connceted with Apna Bazaar, the Pakistani grocery store next door and the quality of the food is so fresh. We will definitely be back.

A friend and I ate here a week ago. I budgeted myself to a couple of samosas and the bun kabob with a mango lassi. The food was great. I didn't know what to expect from the bun kebab; I would think of it as a Pakistani chicken patty, nicely spiced and flavorful, despite being on a plain ol' hamburger bun. Strange thing was, at dinner time, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Always disconcerting. I thought they deserved more. Maybe their prices were a little high, and they're competing with other similar restaurants in the area. I'd go again, though.

We purchased the Groupon and went on a date night. They have good prices and relatively good food. We got the goat bahari and chicken tikka masala, of which the masala was better. I think the thing that kills them is the lack of good service. We had to notify the steward every time we needed him, he never refilled our water glasses, and we had to pay at the cashier's desk.
(3)Chelsey M.
I legitimately loved this place. It was empty when I was here, like completely empty, and it was around dinner time on a Thursday. I had a groupon, which made this an even better deal. I ordered the tandoori chicken (boneless) and it was served on a bed of rice, and delicious. Don't remember what my husband had, but it looked good, and there was a lot of it. The decor in the restaurant is very nice and modern, and the service was pleasant. Apna Bazzar is next door and worth checking out, as they have a good selection of food you won't find at kroger. They also have a menu and serve food there, but it's a lot more casual.
(4)Kimberly N.
Our food was cold...definitely not a place for kids. The customer service was ok but qhen asked about certain foods for kids he told us some foods were good for them like the mixed veggies but it was too spicy. The food was ok I have had better
(2)Emma D.
Went with groupon. Prices listed on the website are not correct, when you get there they charge extra Food is average. Quantity is OK but not large.
(3)Mohammad N.
Just ate there with the wife. Food was extremely greasy and did not taste good at all. I've had a lot indan food and this was not that.

I'll be honest - I knew virtually nothing about Pakistani cuisine when I visited Tandoori Grille. But I found out about this little place from a friend and decided to check it out. Turns out, it's a mixture of Pakastani and Indian dishes. If you're not familiar with either, the lunch buffet is a pretty good place to start. There were enough familiar items (vegetable samosas, yellow dal) to make me feel like I wasn't completely out of my element.. Buffets don't exactly scream "fresh," but all of the food here was quite good and tasted fresher than I expected. As other reviewers have mentioned, some of the items are pretty spicy (a good thing for me). I loved the flavors, but I was definitely looking for the Tums afterward. :-) The service was about what you'd expect - competent but certainly not obsequious. Overall, I think Tandoori Grill warrants an occasional trip from Westerville for me.

It is hard to give this place a number because it had both highs and lows. When we arrived, there wasn't an employee to be found for several minutes. There were several tables of patrons already seated, but without any food, drinks, or even place settings. We asked a table with a nice older gentleman what the etiquette was and he told us to sit. When a server did finally emerge from the kitchen, he directed us to start the buffet and we did. The buffet is very small, maybe 6-7 dishes total. All of the food was spicier than average for an American-serving Indian restaurant, but not too spicy. The food was actually quite good and both me and my lunchmate enjoyed the heat. There just wasn't enough food to go around. The only curry dish available on the buffet had one piece of chicken that I got to first, so my lunchmate didn't get any. Two of the other dishes - a mince meat, cake-like chicken thing that had an indistinct flavor and a very good tandoori chicken both had only one or two pieces remaining, so we took what we could get. In the entire time we were there, the buffet was refilled only once and it was just the curry dish. The other two empty platters stayed empty. When we went to pay, there were troubles with the payment system, so we had to use cash. I left a tip for the server because he did come by a few times and fill water, but it was amateur hour in the restaurant business and I'd only give them one star if the food wasn't as good as it was. If I could expect better service, they might get a couple more stars. As-is, be prepared for the worst.
(2)Riri A.
This restaurant has good food, but I never came and service was normal or fast. Even if it was empty.. It takes hour to get food, and hour to get check. This is why I won't come back again. There is only one service. And serve all the restaurant. And if it was packed ur stay in this restaurant won't be less than 2 hour I guarantee u. Big advice to the owner; I like ur food and stuff is good manner but u need to have at least two servers if not 3. Most of the time I don't come just because of the slow service

This place was pretty excellent. We came here last night for book club and everyone enjoyed their meal a lot. I am doing a vegan/vegetarian diet this month(I do this every summer to lose a few extra pounds...haha) and I was worried there wouldn't be many options. But for me and the other vegetarian in the group, we were not disappointed. I started off with the potato samosa and man, I could have just had an entire dinner of those. I loved the dipping sauce(kind of a spicy yogurt sauce) and the filling was spicy and flavorful. I also tried the basil drink, which was a lot sweeter than I was expecting and it was good, but really different and not something I've ever really seen anywhere else. For the main dish, I ordered the chana masala, which was some of the best chana masala I've ever had. Chickpeas in a flavorful sauce with onions and tomatoes...can't go wrong. It came with rice and then I ordered naan(and you get 4 pretty large pieces of naan with an order, so that was plenty). The portion size was not huge here, which didn't really bother me and you could tell the food was freshly prepared and not just reheated and sitting around. I would come here again in the future for sure.
(4)Amy Kathleen J.
I ordered take out: Alo Palak and two orders of Naan. (I love naan) The entree was delicious, but not very spicy. It was also a little more greasy than most I've had. I'm not sure it will reheat very well at all. It came with rice which was excellently prepared. The naan here is the biggest I have ever had! I was so happy to see such generous portions. And the texture was perfect. I would definitely go here again. You can't beat getting an entree with two naans for only $11. The only negative thing I noticed was that there was nobody around when I came to pick up my food. I stood alone by the register for a few minutes before someone came out. He barely said two words to me also. I'm guessing they were just dead and he was probably really bored lol.

I really enjoy dining at Tandoori Grill. Their sauces and foods are always very flavorful, but I get the feeling that they aren't too authentic. All of the meat dishes seem VERY meat centric, which seems a bit odd for a Northern Indian/Pakistani place. In fact, the dishes don't have much else except for meat, sauce, and rice/naan (usually). Now, there's nothing wrong with that. Their food is very tasty. The saffron rice is absolutely the best I've had. The potato samosas are a must-order every visit. The tables seem cramped, because they give you large plates for sharing meals, and the tables themselves are already very small. I can't imagine ordering several smaller dishes. You'd have no room! I'm not sure how they stay in business, because they're always dead empty whenever I go. I wish that they'd make a few changes and hopefully bring in more business, because their food is truly good. Oh, and don't forget to order dessert - their ras malai is the best in Columbus. After dinner go next door to Apna Bazaar for some cheap Indian supplies. Good selection of spices!

To give you an idea of how great Tandoori Grill is, we visited there two more times in the week following when we first discovered it as part of the Columbus Food Adventures meat lovers tour. The food there is just that good. Not only that, we will frequently bring our of town guests here when going out to dinner. Everyone has been consistently impressed by the quality of the food. The chicken leg and thigh is probably our favorite dish on the menu and someone, or often multiple someones, will order it on any given trip. The boneless chicken has the same seasoning and is prepared the same way. Thankfully it's not dried out like all too many tandoori chicken dishes you'll get elsewhere. And none of that food dye for coloring, you can tell that all of the color comes from the spices. We've had most of the stewed dishes as well, and they also have been quite good. The korma and the tikka masala have been particularly excellent. As have been the chana masala. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the naan, which is some of the best in the city. Or anywhere really. All of the dishes benefit from the fact that they have actual tandoor ovens. That means, among other things, that the naan is cooked the traditional way--stuck to the side of the oven!
(5)Mark H.
Decent flavored food. I had the Beef Kabob Platter and a Mango drink. First off, I was out $18 for lunch. A little pricey, but part of that was the drink at $3. The food, nothing I can't get at a variety of places that serve Indian to African food. Very middle of the road with the spices and preparation. Not a bad place. I love the location. It is in the ethnic restaurant row. Many different to choose from.
(3)Gwen W.
I didn't realize till I got my food: I mistook my dish and thought it was going to be "dry rub" tandoori chicken kabobs. It was tandoori chicken chunks with a spicy sauce all mixed in. While the dish wasn't bad, I plan to go back and try the plain 'ol tandoori meat. I also got a side of four Samosas. Now those were great! Meat filled, and I mean FILLED, to the brim. Great crunchy outside texture, and the crumbled meat and spices inside totally satisfied my appetite! Looking forward to next time!

The International Corridor (i.e. Bethel Road) is always a good choice when you're casting about for something to suit your fancy. Tandoori Grill is one of the (six?) restaurants in the first northern strip of storefronts along Bethel at 315. They are connected with Apna Bazaar, the Pakistani grocery next door, evident in the freshness of their food and quality of their meat. We started out with chicken samosas, which were served with a creamy and spicy yogurt sauce. The samosas were crisp and savory. Instead of our usual seekh kebabs, we went with goat biriyani and chicken tikka masala. My tikka was spiced about 7/10 - "American spicy." The meat in both our dishes was fall-apart tender, my chicken fresh enough that I could clean the meat completely off the bones. Their rice is flavorful and they give you plenty. Their staff were plenty reserved, as always, but it is attentive and timely service. They are also happy to answer questions and make recommendations (they have a basil drink that is quite tasty) and they give out free appetizer cards. Definitely worth a try when you're on this side of town.

This is the best Pakistani/Indian buffet in the town. The service is good and attentive. The food was constantly checked and refreshed. Best of all, this time we discovered new item on their regular menu which is Fish Tandoori. Chicken Tikka Masala that was already very nice could be made a bit or a lot more spicy based on your taste. I also think their naan is excellent. I know it is just bread but there is a quality that I appreciate in they way they prepare it. The difference could be that they are constantly adding fresh naan to the buffet. This is an easy choice and has now become a place I crave.
(5)Fahad M.
I would like to state that this place is highly underrated. I have had their food numerous times and really like their chicken samosas (a must try). They have great kababs, chicken korma and Nihari. If you are willing to wait for 30+ minutes, do get their Chicken tandoori. It is the best chicken tandoori I have had in United States. It is perfectly spiced and cooked in tandoor over high heat, making it crisp on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside. The kind of stuff that makes your mouth water by just writing about it!
(4)Anna H.
Okay, so I finally tried the Nihari that I had promised to try in my last review. I also ordered the chicken samosas (again!), potatoes and spinach (Alo Palak), some naan, and a plain unsweetened lassi. (When our food was served, my dining partner asked, seeming slightly embarrassed, "why did you order so much food?") Well, I wanted to try a few different things so I could write a more thorough review. My friend had her Fish Karahi, as usual. Another reviewer remarked that Pakistanis love their meat--and I could see the love with which that Nihari was made. Even the presentation was beautiful--complete with lemon slices on the side. Upon seeing the lustrous brown gravy with drowning chunks of beef, my dining partner innocently asked, "is that soup?" No, it's definitely not soup, because I don't see how anyone can eat that rich delicious gravy as if it were broth. I suppose I would say it's more like a stew. (The menu describes it as "Beef shanks simmered overnight with a special blend of spices," and lemme tell ya, that "blend" is quite special!) I know I don't have much of a reference for Pakistani food, but I'm not sure how it could get much more authentic than this. I rarely see a low to mid-priced restaurant plate their food with such care, taking pride in the masterpieces they've created. Whoever prepares that food doesn't look at it as a job, but a passion-- which is why I gave 5 stars this time. The potatoes and spinach were very good, the naan was fluffy and light, but I admittedly couldn't eat much else because that Nihari-- did I mention it's very rich? I also ordered the Lamb Seekh Kabob to-go, and it was good (I heated it up the next day and tried just a bit), but this dish would probably be better if eaten fresh. The Nihari, though-- I had some leftovers the next day, and I think it got better with time. The flavors had blossomed even more, and the gravy had thickened. One note: the five stars is just for the food. The service leaves a bit to be desired, and the servers are exceptionally-- quiet. Like, they don't speak unless spoken to. However, there is one man who is almost always behind the counter when I go there, who must be a manager or partial owner or something-- he almost always checks on us during or after our meal, and he is quite friendly. If you don't want to deal with close quarters in the echoing dining room or so-so service, they do offer take-out. Seriously--get it, now. This food is unlike anything I've had in this city-- go here if you're in an adventurous mood or craving something unique.

We absolutely loved Tandoori Grill. They really do have awesome decor - we were very surprised based on the 'strip mall' facade on Bethel Rd. Right next door to Banana Leaf (which we also love!), this place is easy to find, with a big parking lot out front. First, the service really could not have been better. They took our order right away and our appetizer (chicken samosas) was out within five minutes. They checked our drinks, and were super nice and attentive. We didn't have to ask for the check, which I love. But the food - wow. Spicy just the way we like it. The naan was light and chewy, perfect. My husband's goat karahi was delicious, and my chicken tikka masala was peppery and amazing. Even the rice was beautiful - how do they get some of the pieces orange? haha. We will DEFINITELY be back to Tandoor Grill. Couldn't have been a better experience. Note: there was a TV on quietly (Pawn Stars, I think, lol), so if you don't like that sort of thing, sit towards the back.
(5)Ben R.
Closer to 4.5 stars - I'll keep this short. My wife and I ordered 3 dishes for take out, Goat Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Chicken Korma. All 3 were excellent but the flavor standout was the Korma and the Biryani was such a generous portion we could have easily split it. Great quality, taste, and portions for the value. We will be back
(4)Luis C.
This was our first visit. The setting is casual. Seems like a mix of a fast food/take out place and casual sitting for their lunch buffet. The attendant made us feel welcomed. We had the Lamb Tikka, Chicken Marsala, and the Chicken Samosas. Wow! The presentation was beautiful, the aromas captivating, and the flavors rich and complex. We noticed that we were not asked about how spicy we wanted or food; it was just right. I'm coming back!
(5)Josh Y.
This place is really underrated and one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. I've been here half a dozen times and everything I've gotten has been delicious. The meats are very tender and very flavorful. You can really taste the dozens of spices they use in their dishes. My girlfriend is really skinny yet she always finishes her plate when we come here, a rare feat for her. The fact that they often have a Groupon deal means there's no reason not to give this place a shot. I recommend the Chicken/Goat Korma, the Biryani, the Nahari, or the Boneless Chicken. Sadly, I don't see how they can stay open for much longer since they're almost always empty every time I go.
(5)M H.
We tried the lunch buffet at Tandoori Grill while visiting the Columbus area from out of town. The buffet was very good. It had a lot of dish choices and all the food was very delicious. Everything tasted fresh and authentic and the spice level was perfect. The tandoori chicken and chicken chapli kababs were amazing, as well as the daal and palak. I would definitely recommend giving their lunch buffet a try.
(4)R K.
Firstly, I am of Pakistani descent. That being said, this place is great. Pakistani food is a lot like north Indian, but much milder, and a lot more meat based, with stronger central Asian and Persian influences. Don't expect Pakistani food to cater to vegetarians at all. We love meat. The sizzler style menu items are the best. The haleem and Kati rolls are delicious too. Their chicken qorma tastes like how a true qorma/korma should taste. The nihari is hit or miss. Don't expect this to taste like "dhaba" food, but it is excellent for Columbus. If you want something even better, go to Khyber Grill near the casino (but trust me, you'll want it as take out).
(5)Paul F.
I came here tonight with a Groupon and the food was as different this time as night and day. Although, I still can't figure out how they manage to stay open. I got there about 5:30 and left about 7:00 and while I was there they had two carryout orders and one other family came in just as I was leaving. But the food is GOOD!! Tonight I ordered the leg quarters and an order of mixed veggies, and an order of naan. The legs (two of them) had been cooked in the tandoori oven and were covered with spices. That made them spicy but not too spicy to eat. The veggies were a mix of corn, peas, green beans and a bunch of others and were cooked in a rather thick sauce. The naan, was also cooked in the oven and all I can say is that it was absolutely devine! Tender and with a crackly crust at the same time. All in all, this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. and with my Groupon, the grand total was only $8. Can you believe it!
(5)Matt W.
Thank you, Columbus, for all your awesome little strip mall joints. :) My wife and I stopped in for dinner and loved the goat curry and tandoori chicken platter. We also had some great freshly made Naan, tasty samosas, and mango lassis. The food takes a bit to come out, but when it arrives it's clearly just been made, not reheated, and the seasonings are wonderfully flavorful without being too aggressively spicy. The decor inside is also really lovely, with a lot of beautiful woodwork and TVs featuring Indian television. (When we were in, they were showing the Coke Studio channel, which provided some really great music during our meal.) Service was friendly and we were given a card for a free appetizer on our next visit - that won't be far away at all!
(4)Travis Z.
We bought a Groupon and came here to use it. I had trouble spending $20, which was the value of the Groupon. Great value for a good quality food. We had the Basil drink, 2 entrees, and Naan for $20. I will be coming back here as it is one of the better Indian/Pakistanian restaurants on the Bethel strip.
(5)Meredith J.
This place is so good! The service couldn't have been better, the food was unique and tasted authentic and the atmosphere is casual which makes for a great week night dinner. Such a great place for when you're getting tired of the same old same old for dinner. Their website is hard to find but you can view their menu on their Facebook page. Pretty cool. My husband and I had Reshmi Chicken Tikka and Beef Seekh Kabob. To drink we had the Basil Drink and unsweetened Lassi. The Basil Drink was unbelievable. It's like nothing we've ever had before. I would drive to Bethel Rd just for that! We raved about the food to what we think were the owners and they gave us a free appetizer coupon; so nice! We will definitely be back!
(5)Sandhiya M.
Great restaurant in Dublin, oh. The ambience was great, fresh and clean. The customer experience was amazing, the people who served the food were very friendly and kind. We had the goat biriyani and chicken seekh kabab. The biriyani was the best we tasted so far in columbus and the goat meat was so soft to chew and the flavors of the biriyani were mouth watering. They compliment the biriyani with flavored yogurt sauce which was really good. They also serve a side salad to balance the spicy food with cool cut vegetable salad, overall great restaurant and a must try for all the biriyani fans out there! :)
(5)Joo L.
I've now visited several Indian restaurants in the area and I have to say this was the worst out of them all. I ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken korma. Both came out pretty spicy which was great, but it did not taste good at all. The dishes were extremely salty and I had to eat a lot of naan with it so I could mask the flavor. Wish I could have my money back...
(2)Lily C.
I really enjoyed the main course biryani dish. The rice was plentiful and flavorful, and the meat was a mix between chicken and goat (even though I asked for chicken--it was fine). The side salad was fresh. I did not like their chicken samosas-- they were tiny and oily. Also, I will skip the karachi street food next time because it was really cold and bland (it kind of tasted like a cold patte and onion sandwich). I thought the service was great. Really accommodating and friendly employees. We're going to come back for sure and try some of the other main dishes.
(4)QQ J.
Really nice place to try out. Food is not so expensive, and the meat are fresh. I love the Naan, and we'll try more.
(5)Laura C.
Stopped in for an early Sunday dinner as the bf had bought their groupon. It was completely dead. Just a family of four and then us. Cute interior but we noticed dozens of ants roaming around on the floor. Eeek. I went with the chicken tikka masala and he had the chicken korma. I loved mine - perfectly seasoned sauce without being spicy. Chicken was cooked to perfection but had to navigate some small bone pieces. Bf's dish was on the spicier side and he was very pleased. I think the naan should be included in the entrees as you definitely need it to soak up the delicious sauce. Considering most places give ya complimentary bread they should do that here with naan. Portions are enough for a meal but don't expect leftovers. Prices are okay for what you're getting but again I think the naan should be included. I should mention the naan is delicious! Service here is pretty much non existent. Not that we really needed anyone to wait on us besides placing our order and serving us our food. You pay at the podium/desk/counter. Don't expect anyone to come pick up your card or cash. No one else came in during our 45 minutes here except someone picking up a carry out order. I can't think of any other Indian food places I've eaten at in Columbus so it's hard for me to gauge how this place compares. All I know is I enjoyed my meal and if I ever find myself getting a hankering for Indian, I would consider coming back. Definitely worth checking out with their groupon deal.
(3)Debra O.
I love it when a small business has been doing things right and is rewarded with the opportunity to expand. Once just operating out of the back of the grocery next door, now Tandoori Grill has opened a lovely little spot that has nice decor for a quick sit down meal and the same great food that has been bringing foodies in the know back for more. Superb tandoori, obviously. But my favorite is the fantastic fish curry, which is perhaps the best in Columbus. Kind and helpful owners. Gracious service. A great place to experience Pakistani food. I challenge you to find better in Columbus.
(5)Allison S.
Indian food should be great. It should be a well-rounded, smooth integration of complex flavors and techniques. This place fell very, very short of that mark. The chana masala tasted like a fatty chicken gravy. The biryani was bland and boring. The naan was okay, but the samosas tasted like a refrigerator. The prices were really low, but that's reflected in the food quality. Rarely do I write poor reviews, but I feel the prospective diner should be warned.

We went to Tandoori grill last weekend for lunch and had a very good experience at this restaurant. We were immediately greeted and seated as soon as we entered. The décor is casual and kinda chic. The server was very pleasant. We loved the choice on the menu. We started with the Pakistani street food started, which was quite good. It could have done with a little more stuffing in the bun. But the taste and the accompanying sauce was good. Try the coconut drink on their menu, it is very refreshing. We then order the Tandoori platter and a reshmi kati roll, both of which were excellent. We plan to return to this place to try out some more of their dishes.

My husband was in Columbus yesterday so I asked him to go here (we live in Cincinnati) to get some takeout because although Indian food is ubiquitous, Pakistani food is not. We ordered the beef nihari, the chicken haleem and the goat biryani and all of the dishes were outstanding! The owner was also so nice when he heard my husband drove from Cincy that he threw in an assortment of meat and potato samosas for us. The food kept up wel for the ride back and reheated well at home and I've actually had plenty for leftovers. The food is wonderfully prepared--spiced to the right degree, and served with the right accompaniments of cilantro, lemon, julienned ginger etc. I'm looking forward to being able to get back here to get more food. It's really wonderful and you Columbus residents are lucky ducks to have such a wonderful gem. I only wish I still lived around the corner from Bethel Road!

I used to think that the best Reshmi Kebab in the whole world was in Kolkata, India. And while the best Reshmi Kebab still lives in India, a close second-best, if not completely on par, exists at Tandoori Grill (named Reshmi Tikka Kebab). The succulent, creamy chunks of boneless meat were of melt-in-your-mouth consistency and was nicely accompanied with saffron tinged basmati rice and a refreshing spring salad. Every mouthful was completely satisfying. On the same trip to Tandoori Grill, I also partook of the Tandoori Chicken; a generous portion of two thighs, also accompanied with rice and salad. It's probably the best Tandoori Chicken in town and is levels above the dry, food coloring tinged, measly pieces at most Indian/Pakistani restaurants in central Ohio. This was Tandoori Chicken done right: moist and full of barbecuey-charcoaley flavor. Lastly, while the Goat Biryani did not rise to the level of Kolkata-deliciousness, it's executed well here. The meat is tender, the rice has enough heat and saffron, and the whole dish is entirely delicious.

Nice yummy tandoori chicken that one can find anywhere in Columbus. The Best one that I have ever had. It was rightly cooked, tender, juicy and well flavored. We had ordered a Tandoori Chicken and Thigh Platter and a Chicken Kadhai with Tandoori Roti. All the items served were rich in taste and in adequate amounts. The Tandoori Leg and Thigh came with Half Naan (thin and soft), Saffron Rice (tasteful), Side Salad and Yogurt Chutney. The platter was well thought of in terms of items and their combination. The Kadhai Chicken was yummy and the Tandoori Roti was also nice !! The only one thing that would ever stop me from ordering Kadhai Chicken is the amount of oil in the gravy. It was way too too too much :( But then I certainly have other delicious items on the Menu that I can go for. And specially the Tandoori is simply wonderful. Price wise, its kind of reasonable. The main dishes were at $ 10 each, so we ended up paying around $ 26 with tip. All in all, a nice reasonable joint with yummy Indian Food !!

No. Just... no. Went here hoping for an authentic Indian experience, but what we got was nothing of the sort. Mediocre food with an unfair pricing scheme. Service is terrible. Decor had the pretentiously contemporary feel of a place that is trying too hard. When we first walked in, no one came to seat us. The menu was posted above the counter, so we were preparing to order our food and seat ourselves until we were abruptly told, "You'll be at Table 12." Someone finally came to take our order, but it was a good 15 minutes until we even got our water glasses. Our server was inexperienced, yet she seemed to be the only one working the front of house. I usually cut restaurants some slack when they are first opening and figuring things out, but only if they actually seem happy to serve you. The person we dealt with was aloof and inconsistent. Halfway through our meal, we overheard her telling another table about an "opening special" of free samosas. Why weren't we offered the free samosas?!? They also charge extra for rice. They try to make it sound like it's included ("would you like rice or naan with that?" as if it's a free option), but it's actually $2 more. Basmati rice is not that expensive! Theirs isn't even that good, it's dry and overcooked with only a few cilantro leaves chopped in for "flavor". The lamb kabob honestly looked like 2 turds on a plate. I just cleaned up my dog's poop at the park today; did not want a reminder. A "tomato, onion and green chile salad" is just a sliced raw onion with raw green chiles and diced under-ripe tomatoes! Luckily I enjoy spicy food, but seeing as how we are in the Midwest, I am sure that some customers would have appreciated the courteous 1- 5 spiciness scale that works well for most ethnic restaurants. This place obviously cares way more about appearances than about hospitality or how the food tastes (the only things that really matter when you're dining out). And they keep it at about 34 degrees Fahrenheit in there. If you are looking to inhale raw garlic in an uber-swanky arctic tundra, by all means eat here. Oh, and if you're the kind of person who likes a little rice with your chicken tikka-- i.e., everybody-- that'll be an extra $2.

I was really looking forward to this place. Food was top notch. Service, not so much. I had a online coupon and I was the 1st person to bring it in. The staff seemed confused and had to call their manager on how to go about using the coupon bc it was on my smartphone. Like I said, the food was very good and tastes very similar to home made Pakistani cooking. However the customer service left a sour taste in my mouth. I would eat here again but just take out.

I thought this place was delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect being in a shopping center of sorts, but the decor was great and atmosphere was very comfortable. Somewhat modern with some touches to elevate it slightly above simply casual. We tried the chicken and potato samosas, both delicious although I was more of a fan of the potato. Everything on the Reshmi Chicken Tikka Platter was very good and the presentation was nice and clean. I tried some Tandoori Chicken Kabob Karahi as well, which was also so good. Plus sooo affordable. One of the best things, the to go containers are actually microwaveable plastic containers with tight lids. Awesome. I always fear the dreaded styrofoam. Looking forward to the next visit. If I had more visits under my belt it would be 5 stars.

Food is great, service not so much. We had the single orders of boneless chicken and the lamb tikka. Both were well seasoned and tender. The chicken was definitely the best I've tandoori chicken I've had in Columbus. Presentation of the restaurant and food were great, unlike most Indian places around town. The size of the entrees were huge! For a $7 single order, I was not expecting so many pieces of chicken and rice with a side salad. We ended up not even really using our side order of naan...too much food. Will definitely be coming back here again.

The kabobs were excellent! We tried the family platter and the meat was well marinated and very tasty. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the waiter got my order wrong and tried to blame it on me. But that's not going to stop me from going back.

We had a great meal at Tandoori Grill. This is not your typical strip center restaurant. The atmosphere was very cozy and it was well-decorated. We found the owners to be very nice. Our water was refilled often, the (assumed) owner who cooked brought us our food and checked on us, and we felt like we were taken care of. We shared the chicken tikki masala, chicken bihryani, goat korma, and spinach and potatoes. We had more than enough food for 4 hungry adults. The spinach dish was spicy!! Everything had a great flavor and we wouldn't hesitate to go here again. Of course, the naan was delicious and the basmati rice was plentiful. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Really tasty. The chicken samosas is delish. Spicy food! Ask for mild. Yummy naan.

Amazing... had a boneless chicken tandoori platter - great! Also tried the coconut drink with floating chunks of coconut - refreshing and really good. Finished up with Rass Malai - wow this was good and it was so sweet. The staff was very nice and quite friendly. I'll definitely come back and bring my friends.

Bought a groupon. We got vegetable biriyani and a vegetable curry. It was stale and ad no taste. I am not a gtreat cook but the food made me think that I could make this at home even better! It might be good for non-vegetarians but NOT for vegetarians

We ended up here by default, the Indian place we wanted to try was closed. We should have went to the Korean place a couple doors down. The service was horrible, we had to ask for menus! I ordered the chicken korma and received the goat korma. I sent the entire dish back minus what was on my plate and then was asked for that as well so he could show the cook the mistake. Like the entire dish wasn't enough to see the mistake?? He brought out the chicken korma and it was mostly bones, very little meat. We had to ask for to-go boxes and ask TWICE for our bill. I love Indian food and I will NEVER go back there again.

Love, love love. I am definitely coming back here. Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. We took our grandma come here one day, she recently moved to US from VN, she loved it here. The food is great, we loved all the dishes they offer. We are definitely coming back. THUMB UP.

I am very disappointed by my first visit here, I ordered Potato Samosa as appetizer and Kadai Chicken for lunch. First of all I was served the frozen Potato Samosa that I can buy myself from any Indian grocery stores and prepare at home. Also I was very disappointed by the preparation of Kadai chicken, it tasted like they served a paste of onions/tomato/garlic and without knowing how and when to put in the spices they just somehow prepared and served it. Overall I think it was not at all authentic Indian food. I will not recommend this place.

As a foodie who was born and raised in Pakistan, I am always looking for good Pakistani cuisine much like what one can find in Jackson Heights (New York) or on Devon Avenue (Chicago). Authentic Pakistani cooking is quite different from Indian cooking. The names and ingredients of the dishes may be similar but how the spices are roasted and the sequence in which various parts of the cooking process take place differ. I am sure that Indians who grew up with the Indian style of cooking prefer that as I prefer the Pakistani style. Now to the point. I have eaten several times at Tandoori grill and have attended dinners where the food was catered by Tandoori grill. My experience has been mixed: there have been times when the food was spot on and I could not have enough. Then there have been times where the quality of the food left much to be desired. This was our experience yesterday: the naans and lamb seekh kababs were perfect. The goat curry was mediocre at best: the meat was tough and had a slight flavor of cooked frozen meat warmed over. My favorite, brain masala, did not live up to the quality that I have experienced here before. It was bland and lacked the freshness which is critical to this preparation. So bottom line: lack of consistency. This can be a big problem for businesses like this. I wonder if the inconsistency is due to who is running the kitchen at any given time!

I really enjoyed my experience and the food. The place looked great---modern chic, but comfortable. Most importantly my tandoori chicken was hot, flavorful, and tender. My dish came with naan, salad, and spicy yogurt---all nice complements. Also, everything is priced to be a good value. I could actually afford to eat here often even on weeknights. As for the one negative review...if you say you want "authentic" Indian food why are you surprised that your salad comes with raw onions, tomato and chilis as titled and why are you upset that there is no "1 to 5" spiciness scale? That doesn't make sense to me. A lot of people in the Midwest really like spicy food. Since they might tend to be more frequent Indian food customers, it might make sense to just cater to them.

The operators of this place have been running a very well respected take-out operation catering to the local Pakistani community and adventurous foodies out of the grocery store next door for years. When this spot opened up they jumped on it to expand their offerings and services. The tandoori here is excellent. It's easily the best I've ever had: tender, juicy, well seasoned. But I've also had the goat korma and it was top-notch, too. The goat was as tender and juicy as any goat I've ever had and the sauce was rich and flavorful to boot. If the place seems expensive it's because you're not ordering very smartly. The first time I went three of us split the family platter and samosas and we're more than satisfied. I think the total tab came to about $40 with some lassis and this crazy basil drink they have. The service has always been friendly and prompt the few times I've been here even on the day of their grand opening. This has fast become one of my favorite restaurants in town.

We attempted to go to The Crest - thank heavens for new restaurants in Clintonville! - but the wait was awful long (opening night) so we used a Restaurant (dot) com gift certificate for Tandoori Grill. Sure glad we went! It's right up 315 in the strip mall right off the Bethel exit. I bookmarked a South Indian, Korean, and Thai/Vietnamese place as we drove into the lot, so more to try here. But I digress... Lots of flavor! Many many spices! I could pretty much stop there. If you don't like flavor, you probably shouldn't come, but... if you like a lot going on, I'm confident you'll enjoy it. We're certainly going back. The place is well designed/sleek, that's the first thing you'll notice. And then you'll notice yourself wanting to order everything on the menu because the descriptions are fantastic and make everything sound mother watering. We ordered fish pakora (probably our favorite item - very lightly breaded with a many spiced breading and lightly fried/not overcooked) and a street food item that I forget the name of that comes on a bun - both come with a super flavorful sauce that I wanted to buy a bottle of and drink. Then we had the lamb tikka and the nihari - a slow-cooked beef shank dish with a gravy-like sauce that was very tasty (and pretty spicy, FYI). A lot of flavor, not far away. I'm looking forward to trying it again, but already feel confident recommending it.

I ordered takeout for 2 - tandoori chicken and potato paneer. What I wanted to order was tandoori chicken and palak paneer, but a quick call back from the restaurant informed me they were our of palak paneer. I was unimpressed with the food I received. The flavors were just ok, but the food was so oily that it was difficult to enjoy. Even the bread had some scorched spots. I won't be going back, especially with a great (although vegetarian) option right next door.

Been here once before and I was the only one in the restaurant food was good but it took a while but being that I was the only would it maid sense however when my girlfriend and I just went in there was another couple a party of 8 and who I assumed to be the owner the way he went back into the kitchen and grabbed a notebook and went back to sit with his 4 friends. There was 1 server and we grabbed our own menus in the span of 22 minutes we were not once acknowledged by either the server or the owner. Upon reading Riri, As spot on review we got up and left and no one said anything to us. Worst service Or lack there of I've ever had at not only any restaurant but any retail, hotel, airport or any oher possible services I've ever experienced in my life. I work in possibly the busiest retail environment in the world and even if our entire staff is occupied there is simply no excuse for not recognizing a customer, especially with only 10 other people in your restaurant and in the span of 22 minutes. A pitiful disgrace of a business. Do not eat here.

Some of the best food I've had in quite a while. But the prices are high! Basic wraps start around $8 and that doesn't cover a drink. I liked the naan because it crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My wife said her's was burnt. There is only one server for the whole restaurant so don't be in a hurry.
