This is one of my family's favorite restaurants! The weekend buffet is more pricey than others, but is well worth every cent! The food is authentic and delicious. Even my young children gobble it up. The service has been wonderful every time we have been there - and we have been there often!!

Now that I've been for the buffet and ordered off the dinner menu, I feel I should give Tadka a review. It seems they've got kind of a bad rap in previous reviews. While I won't discount anyone's personal experience, I will say I'm glad we looked past the low ratings and gave Tadka a fair chance, and I think you should, too. The buffet (we came on a Sunday for lunch) is HUGE! Never have I seen a buffet with so many options. Tons of meat and veggie options, and they were constantly bringing out fresh, hot food. I didn't check out what it was that they were making to order behind the buffet line, but I'm sure it was great too, as there was always a line for it. The dinner menu is seriously overwhelming. I love having options, but sometimes, less is more. I looked the menu over for quite a while before deciding on the chicken tikka masala, which is nothing new to me. I think if they were abit more selective about what they put on the menu, I may have been a bit more adventurous. But too many choices leaves me feeling lost and overwhelmed. The food was all spectacular. We started with veggie samosas- loved them. As I said, I had the chicken tikka masala, and it was everything I would expect. Tender chicken, beautifully flavored sauce (and plenty of it to soak up with the naan). My guy ordered the goat rogan josh, and he loved it. With every bite, there was a little sound of delight. I'm sure we will dine at Tadka again when we are nearby.

Best Indian food in Columbus, hands-down. We order from Tadka all the time via Grub Hub. I have yet to encounter a dish I haven't absolutely loved. Their portions are great (lots of leftovers), and their food is absolutely delicious. Check out the Murgh Tikka, it's definitely my favorite. Also the Masala Pappadam is to die for.

The best chaat I had in the U.S. They have the most amazing lunch buffet ever! They have everything ranging from dosa, idly, Wada to indo-Chinese main courses. I would consider moving to Columbus just for their food

Tadka has a pretty nice dining area and huge menu variety, which includes a wide array of Indian and Chinese dishes. I opted to go with Indian and ordered the Murgh Makhani (aka butter chicken). The sauce was great, but the chicken tasted old and not good/fresh. I was expecting better, considering how nice the place seemed. I've definitely had tastier Indian cuisine in Columbus. I tried my friends' Chinese dishes and they were pretty good. The service was prompt and friendly.

The best Indian food I've found in Columbus, and some of the best I've ever had (and I've tried some of the best restaurants in Portland, Montreal, and San Francisco). It's a little bit on the pricey side, but you really do get what you pay for. The food is spicy, but in that wonderful way that enhances flavor and brings it out rather than drowning it. Lastly, the service is very consistently good and very friendly. Overall, one of my favorite places to eat.

They claim to be a buffet and every dish out there is empty and nothing is refilled. Even after repeated follow ups they don't refill the dishes! The waiters are rude to the core and they hardly care!!! don't even to dare to try this place.

Worst food ever. Very expensive bread. The chicken pakora was not at all properly cooked. It was almost raw from inside. Paneer korma is tasteless. They need to add more taste to the food. The only good thing thing about the restaurant is that their meat is halal. Would not recommend to anybody.

This isn't just an Indian restaurant, they also have an indo-Chinese menu, which I heard is very good (I haven't had the chance to try yet). The decor is very nice. Upon entering, I felt like I was walking into an upscale restaurant. We had the Tadka Murgh Tikka and the Murgh Tikka Masala. Both were cooked perfectly. We aren't any Indian cuisine experts, but they tasted just right. The service isn't great though, that's why I'm not giving it 5 stars. They brought the Tadka Murgh Tikka first, it was sizzling and looked delicious but they did not give us any rice. After we asked for the rice it took the waiter more than 5 minutes to bring out the rice. The Tikka was too salty to eat without the rice. By the time the rice came out the tikka was no longer sizzling. Other than this, our dining experience was a very positive one!

Good portions but I think something is missing as far as flavor goes. Service was not great either. Had the chicken tikka, tandoori chicken and paneer.

We used to love this place but it has gone vastly downhill. We are very familiar with Indian and Indo Chinese cuisine having traveled extensively in Asia. The food is not nearly as good as in the past with both quality of fresh ingredients and flavor - and they don't seem to care. Samosas were over cooked with scant fillings. Dinner was very bland when starred as spicy and asking for extra spicy. The masala sauce was good but the chicken in it not so. The woman's room was filthy with dirt, broken tiles piled on the floor and rusted trash cans. Ick!! We were regulars - we are done!

This place is near where I live and I've driven by a hundred times, so tonight I decided to venture in and check it out, with an eye toward Yelping about it. It wasn't a wasted trip in that I can now advise you to seek Indian food satisfaction elsewhere. First, the hostess seemed the opposite of happy to see me. She seated me in the adequate dining room, nothing special about it. The menu did not inspire confidence. First, it was so worn out that it was almost falling apart. Second, it included an awkwardly sized menu insert (long and narrow like a sushi menu) with a whole list of Chinese and other Asian dishes. Huh. It's a danger sign when a restaurant feels the need to branch out from its supposed specialty into other kinds of cuisine - usually it's a desperate move to lure customers or cash in on local trends. But a restaurant that tries to do too many things will end up doing none of them well. I was certainly not going to order Chinese food in what was supposedly an Indian restaurant. For most cuisines, there are certain menu items that serve as canaries in coalmines. They're benchmarks for basic competence in whatever food the restaurant is serving. A Japanese restaurant that doesn't make good miso soup or a steakhouse without a killer filet must be looked at askance. I may grade restaurants like this one harshly because I adore Indian food, and we have a number of really good Indian restaurants in Columbus so we are not dying on the vine for want of vindaloo. So when the papadum arrived and it was almost inedibly salty, my heart sank. If an Indian restaurant can't even manage decent papadum, you're in for it. I ordered chicken korma and garlic naan. Pretty standard stuff. I had a glass of the house pinot noir, which was...well, it was a $5 glass of wine. When my food arrived, one look at the rice was telling. One of my favorite things about Indian food is the rice. That fragrant, separated, tender basmati rice. This rice was undercooked even to visual inspection, and it was sticking together a bit. The korma was weirdly pale in color and had sliced almonds on it...okay. The naan was doughy, too floury and oddly tasteless for being garlic naan. Again, if an Indian restaurant can't even make good naan, it's a "look at your life, look at your choices" moment. I couldn't help but remember the episode of West Wing when post-heart-attack Leo McGarry is finally coaxed into eating by his Indian nurse's homemade naan. This naan could barely have enticed a ravenous linebacker. The korma itself wasn't horrible, but it was oddly sweet with no tang or kick. It'll reheat tolerably for a lunch. Then, I decided to let them have a crack at making me some rasmalai. Now, you must understand, that rasmalai is one of my favorite things in the whole entire universe. When it came, I ate it. But it didn't make me happy. Good rasmalai should be tender but firm, sweet but light, and the milk should be light and flavorful. This rasmalai was mealy and dense, and the milk was gooey. It wasn't expensive, anyway. For a glass of wine, naan, korma and rasmalai I paid $26. But I can't recommend the food, nor the service. When I first sat down the waiters couldn't get it together on whether I'd gotten drinks and they tried to ask for my food order before I'd opened the menu. After getting my food, my waiter did not reappear for ages, and when he finally did, he admitted he'd forgotten about me. If you want good Indian food, head up the road to Amul India, where the naan is to die for, or better yet, head across town to Cafe Udipi, where the service and ambiance isn't so great but the food is divinity itself. Their rasmalai haunts my dreams.

Dined here tonight at the recommendation of an Indian coworker. We were not disappointed. To date, my favorite Indian restaurant in Columbus has been Aab in Grandview, but Tadka is now up there among my favorites. The interior is clean, modern, and somewhat upscale. As far as Indian restaurants go, it's a pretty nice building. The now defunct Bay Leaf in Polaris was prettier inside though. The server was very polite and on top of things. The hostess at the entrance wasn't very friendly, so I agree with what some of the other reviews have said. A common problem that I encounter at Indian restaurants in general is that they tend to have the slowest water refill. This can ruin the dining experience considering how spicy their dishes can be! Tadka was the first Indian restaurant that I've been to where they actually leave a pitcher of water at the table for you. This helps soooo much! We had their vegetarian starter platter (samosa, veggie pakora, and a few other things), the murgh (chicken) tikka masala, and lamb biryani. They were all delicious, and the volume was impressive. You probably get 30% more food here compared to Aab. We were also pleasantly surprised to get a complementary plate of papadams. That's a first for me at an Indian restaurant, both in the US and in England. As we couldn't finish our meal (due to the volume), we have take home boxes full of delicious Indian food to look forward to for tomorrow. We'll definitely be back!

The food is fantastic!!! The options are tremendous! If you aren't familiar with Indian cooking this is the place to come! You can sample a number of dishes and figure it out!

I've been here a handful of times with my family since 2014, always for the lunch buffet. The service is always excellent, and the food is great. Good price for 10 dollars per person, and quality Indian and Asian food. Also, kids 3 and under free. Kids under 9, 1/2 off. I highly recommend!

Personally think this is the best Indian restaurant in Columbus, their weekend buffet is awesome, they have both north indian and south indian cuisines along with street foods, so you can pretty much try everything, their service and quality of food has been decently consistent.

Have just been getting into Indian food- I have been here twice and both times I had outstanding meals. Will continue to eat here. Recommended for anyone that likes Indian food. A tip: they consistently have groupons available.

Despite all efforts to convince a few friends to go to a different Indian restaurant, we ended up at this place once again. This time it was for Sunday brunch. As before there is a lack of good service at this place. The waiters/waitresses seem so disorganized and not properly managed that its difficult to expect adequate service. The food mediocre at best. The silverware continues to be dirty. I can't imagine how dirty the kitchen maybe.

Chicken. Tikka. Masala. The bomb. Nice atmosphere too and amazing service. The menu is extremely diverse too, but you probably only want to order the aforementioned chicken Tikka masala because it is heaven. Also: order garlic naan to dip into it.

Love this place! Amazing food and friendly staff. Lunch buffet is so great! Just don't eat the green beans on the salad bar unless you want your mouth to catch on fire! They look so normal but they are like hot molten lava. I've been here over half a dozen times now and never been less than perfectly happy.

Tadka. Nom. Despite having lived in the area for several years, I've never ever been here. I guess its location got the best of me. Weeeelll my friends, I came for dinner here, and I left incredibly satisfied. Chicken and curry? Naan stuffed with spicy potato (I think, I didn't order it)? All delicious. Even her lamb (which I usually don't eat) was great. My one problem was, when it came time to leave, we sat and talked. Plates were cleared. Beers were finished. Water was empty. And we waited. And waited. And finally waved our server down for the check. The food keeps it a three, and my date has been here several times and is a fan, but if this is an indicator of their long term service, I'm surprised.

Best Indian place in town for dinner... lunch buffet isn't that great. Prices are pretty high, so we don't go very often.

Love this restaurant! Food is delicious and buffet on weekends is just amazing. I never saw such a wonderful variety of indian food in a buffet in other restaurants. You have to try masala dosa - it's so yummy!

We have had mixed experiences here and hence 3 stars. Sometimes good experience. Sometimes food was not great. Inconsistent taste. Especially the indo-chinese variety. Their burnt garlic rice used to be really good... Not anymore. Once our friend's family catered chicken biryani for a birthday party and the chicken was spoilt. For next few days most people who had that biryani had stomach bug. Last time we went there my wife was wary of going because of our previous experience. But I convinced her. We were seated right behind their waiters table (where they gather after taking order). Despite having other tables which were empty when we entered. The place was very noisy and it wasn't their customers but the waiters kept chattering loudly behind our table. Very unprofessional waiters constantly chatting and laughing loudly near our table. Worst dining experience. We could hardly talk to each other. And constantly were disturbed by their noise. Then the loud opening and closing of the kitchen door... Ugh... Its probably the last straw.

It's delicious! Most things are pretty hot, but also very flavorful. Eat lots of naan and it'll help cool the heat. The tikka masala is always my go to, but I chose the buffet. The buffet is not an option during dinner, as far as I am aware. It was $15 a person for the buffet and while I understand waiters don't pay as much mind to those utilizing the buffet, I wish they had at least left us more water. I think the food is definitely worth the try, but go during lunch.

Loved this place! I had Lamb Korma. Asked for mild and the spice was just rice. My companion had vindaloo and, again, perfect spice. Entire meal was very good and service excellent. There is a big menu of Chinese and Thai for folks who aren't into Indian food. Also beautiful decor and atmosphere.

I was so excited to find an Indo-Chinese restaurant in town. I love manchurian chicken and this place did not disappoint! The chili chicken wasn't as good...I think it needed more chili, and the Hakka noodles were just okay, but the manchurian chicken and good service earn this place four stars. I'm looking forward to going back for some more manchurian and trying out some other dishes!

The food's good! The service was okay. I found myself waiting around for a server at times, but they did give me a free sample of their lamb paneer bowl! Overall I've been twice and had a good experience. Would definitely go back!

Love this place!! Best Indian fusion place I've ever been to. I love it because there are so much variety of food. I am a vegetarian (my husband is not) and there is so much to chose from for both of us. My favorite is the Crispy Eggplant Chili Honey. One of my husband's is the Lamb Korma.. It also varies in spiciness and you can ask for more or less spicy which is nice too, The nana and pourie breads are delicious and good addition to the sauces on the dishes. The atmosphere is really modern and almost upscale without the upscale prices. Its a great place for a date night! I'm happy to have found this place!

Good food and very nice and efficient wait staff. I wish they had a counter to slide your plate along if you have to use a walker or cane. A waiter was very helpful holding my plate. Prompt removing debris or providing more water. It is a keeper!

I have been to this restaurant atleast 8 or 9 times - since I travel to Columbus, OH every week. The first visit was a recommendation from colleagues - and the trip was well worth it. The Indo-Chinese preparations were really good, with the right balance of flavor and spice - was served hot! My first two visits - I only tried the chinese dishes...consistent. Then we tried the Indian section of the menu - that did not impress much, to be honest. My experience has gone downward ever since ... and more and more issues with the food any dishes. E.g. Amritsari Fish was just a sad filet, deep fried in "used" oil ...no batter, nothing - thats not Amritsari fish by any stretch of imagination. I called the server and gave feedback - which was not taken well, instead - I was told..thats how it is!! The 'Pakoras' were under cooked - just a lump of "Besan" ...that too liquidy slush...The chicken in the dishes was not cooked well ...the Biryani was lousy ...it was an after thought of putting large "boiled" chicken pieces in the Biryani rice....bad idea! The only savior was the Daal makhni - did not go wrong on that...and Mano Lassi ..... The bread basket was poor....under cooked and raw...the roomalis were pathetic.

The service was great contrary to reviews read on urbanspoon. We did go before the dinner rush so not sure if that's the secret to getting great service here. I started off with birbali shorba soup which was too spicy for me to eat. I asked a server for some cream to help suppress the spice and he insisted on remaking it for me. When he returned shortly the soup was perfect. Soon after the soup I engorged myself with onion kulcha and murgh palak. If I was to have any complaint it would be that I had a runny nose the whole time due to the spice level but that's not their fault. I would definitely return next time I'm in the area.

Just had saturday buffet here. Food is good. Ambience is good. Instrumental music is good. Food variety is also good. Waiters are bit arrogant asking for tips when paying the bill. Buffet is definately different from a-la-carte. Argument made by waiter is we pick up plates for buffet. That is part of responsibilty of the job and they are expected to do it. Lastly waiter is saying, if you feel tip the check. That is absolutely rude from there perspective. Who are they to decide. Manager should teach waiters to be quiet, charming and

I had originally planned on Dining at Bamboo Garden, a Chinese restaurant right next door to Tadka Indian Restaurant. On arrival we were directed to use the Tadka restaurant entrance. This seemed rather odd, and upon further observation our first choice seemed set up for a formal occasion, possibly a wedding. We were seated on the Tadka side of the building and offered two totally different menus, one from the Bamboo Garden and one for Tadka. I must of looked flustered because the waiter proceed to say we could mix and match from both menus. Can you mix and match Indian and Chinese food? I am awful at making choices and the wait staff had to ask twice if I was ready to order, just too many choices! I ended up going with Tadka's menu and enjoyed Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken in a tomato based cream sauce full of wonderful Indian spices, and of course Naan. It was all good. I am not sure if the duel restaurant is an every day thing, but if you can't decide between Chinese or Indian this might be a place to go. Maybe next time I'll get some Lettuce wraps with my Naan.

So we went as a large group of people and enjoyed the fact that some of our party could opt for fantastic Chinese food while we tore into some great Indian food. Our crew of 11 all were well served and got a resounding thumbs up. Amalia Kofta was killer!

So, I went to Tadka last Friday, June 28th and they had just been inspected and received a nice, bright yellow sticker for "failure to correct their violations". My friend Raaj and I went in anyway. He's a Punjabi Indian and has been dying to try this place out. The young ladies at the podium quickly seated us at a table with a carafe of water and a setting for four. She politely cleared away the extra settings and handed us three menus EACH. There's a drink menu, a Tadka menu, and then an Inchin's menu. Inchin is the Indo-Chinese restaurant housed in the same facility. After we had our menus we waited. And waited. Then we waited. A server came towards us but we were given false hope because he wasn't coming to wait on us. There was a table of 10 - 12 Indian gentlemen coming in gradually and they were being tended to as they arrived. I wouldn't have been offended if they hadn't been RIGHT NEXT TO US. There was a young man whose only job, it seems, was to walk through the dining room completely ignoring the customers. Kudos to him for having the easiest job ever! Because even after I tried to stop him from passing, he managed to keep his head high and his eyes laser-focused on his destination. That's when Raaj flagged down an older woman who had been hovering in the back by the buffet. She came and took our order. The aforementioned server looked put out by us summoning someone else to take our food order. When the food finally came it was just OK. I got the Tadka Mixed Grill and it came out a full 5 minutes before the naan or Raaj's Murgh Tikka Masala. After we finished eating, we had to flag someone down for the check and got glared at when we asked for separate ones. Mediocre food, poor service, and (apparently) health code violations. You won't find me there any time soon.

October 2012 After a long day at the Columbus Zoo, we came back here since we've been wanting to try some more items off the menu. The food was great and the server was excellent. We really enjoyed everything. If only this was located near us by Easton we would go here all the time. I look forward to coming back, I just wish I knew more people who would try this kind of food so I could bring them here. July 2012 I've never been here before but we were looking for a place with some good vegetarian options. This place is really nice, and was very clean. It had a nice atmosphere for dinner. It can get a bit loud at times when it gets busy. There was an infant in the both over crying from time to time, but that's expected from a little baby. The service started off slow and awkward. The server at one point during the middle of our ordering of drinks and apps, he turned to the table behind us to do something for them really quick. It was strange, but as the service went on, it improved and was really good. The food here is good and we look forward to a return to try some other things. The appetizers are all really good. We had the Samosa's, Chilgoza Kurkuri, and some Naan and Garlic Naan. My main course, I can't remember the name, but it was dumplings stuffed with cottage cheese in a cashew sauce. It tasted more like Chickpeas than cottage cheese. They were balls not really dumplings. I'm not sure if I got the right meal, however, I still enjoyed it. Other thoughts, I think it could be a little more spicy, but as Indian places go, spicy means different things from one place to the next. I got mine medium, but didn't notice any heat so it felt more like mild to me. The sauce was a little heavy and creamy, very filling and rich. We all had a good dinner and left here feeling very full. Can't wait to come back.

This place is an interesting concept with 2 restaurant menus available, Indian and Chinese. It's convenient since unfortunately not everyone likes Indian food:( This is the first Indian restaurant I've been to where the interior was modern and hip. We got a plethora of items and they all tasted great. The chicken tikka masala was rich and creamy and the biryani was amazing. To those who don't know what that is, imagine the most flavorful rice with a lot of vegetables and meat, sealed in a fluffy white bread vessel. I never had anything like it before and I have been craving it ever since. The Chinese meal we ordered (I forget the name) was also very tasty. I was very impressed and I will be back!

I bought a Groupon for Tadka and invited a friend to go with me tonight to try it. I had read all of the reviews and knew some were not so good and some were really good. I thought I'd try it for myself. Both my friend and I love Indian food and have been to numerous Indian restaurants... we both felt the ambiance was very nice as we walked in. We waited at the front for a few minutes for someone to come and seat us. When the hostess came, I noticed there was a McDonald's bag at the hostess station full of food... this should have be a sign to leave and that the food isn't that great... The booths lined the walls and there were 4-top tables in the middle. The tables in the middle looked so short/small - to me they looked like "kid" tables and I'm not sure how someone would fit/sit at such a small table. The booths were comfortable, although the seat was pretty far from the actual table that I had to sit on the edge. The server was helpful, she gave us the quick overview of the menu... curry dishes come with rice, but the other dishes do not... She recommended the naan. When we had questions, she answered them. The presentation of the food was great - the plates are "Tadka" plates (on bottom), which we both commented about. We ordered the vegetarian samosa's as the appetizer, garlic naan, Murg Tikki (pieces of spiced chicken), and Palak Paneer (paneer and spinach). I loved the vegetarian samosa's! The crispy wrapping, wasn't too crispy, and the potatoes and spices were perfect inside. I thought we were off to a good start at this point... The main dishes came out and, again, the presentation was wonderful! I had the rice and palak paneer. Both my friend and I took a bite and looked at each other. We weren't quite sure what to think or even what we were tasting... My first thought was that it was so bland and neither of us could even taste the spinach. My friend commented that it seemed like they took spinach and basil and blended them together, but we couldn't even taste the basil either. Neither of us liked this dish at all! My friend didn't like the chicken dish, she felt it was very dry and didn't taste as it should. The dish came with 6-8 cubed pieces of chicken, which seemed like a small serving, but it barely got eaten because it wasn't very good... Lastly, the naan... we'll end on a "good" note... the naan was great! It seemed very fresh and had just the right amount of garlic. All-in-all, neither of us would go back to Tadka and I wouldn't recommend it either. I wanted to head to Amul India after we ate here. We opted for Jeni's instead... I should have some pics soon...

Disappointing Failure on both chinese and indian style of cooking. Didnt ask me how hot i like the lamb karahi (super spicy hot) . It was the mildest sorry piece of karahi ever. Garlic naan was lukewarm , not piping hot. Decor was nice though ( except for the filthy bathrooms!)

Happened to be nearby, so I tried the lunch buffet. I don't have Indian all that often, maybe twice a year and usually out of town, so I can't really compare this to other local places. The parents of one of my best friends from high school are from India, so I had homemade samosas, etc., during study breaks and parties. The service was excellent, especially considering there were two large groups there at the same time. The decor is nice, and the buffet has quite a few options, all good. Some of the usual Indian favorites, plus a few Chinese things (fried rice, Szechuan chicken, Manchurian chicken.) And something I'd never tried: fried baby corn. Everything was good. I'll definitely be back.

Best Indian food I've had in Columbus. The Chinese menu is also very good. My chicken was very well cooked, with delicious spice and great heat. Staff were extremely friendly. The restaurant is clean, and the decor is nice. I'll definitely return to tadka.

Very disappointed, I am never going back here again. I have tried this restaurant a couple of times and both experiences were not good. The food is NOT authentic at all. I ordered Murgh Handi Lazeez this time and the taste is exactly as Murgh Chettinad which I tried last time. These two dishes are from two different parts of India and if they taste the same the cook should quit, he/she is not meant to be a cook. I will stay away from this place in future.

Great selection on the buffet. I love Indian food but not well versed enough to feel comfortable to order off a menu at Indian restaurants, thus I love buffets. Weekend selection is even better with some food prepared when ordered.

I came here due to having a daily deal. I like good Indian food and this place didn't disappoint. My lamb kebobs came out sizzling hot on a cast iron skillet and tasted really good. They were well seasoned with good texture. The curry that my friend ordered was tasty as well. We both got large portions and left with full bellies. The decor was classy and the restaurant had a nice clean ambiance. Friendly service was also a plus. One downside was that the prices seemed pretty high. The daily deal helped but I'm not sure I would come here without it. There is plenty of good Indian food around for less of a burden on the wallet. We did take a peek at the lunch buffet and it looked good, so I will be returning for that.

Very oily food. There is an abundance of unprofessional indian waiters running around but you need to flag them to get knives or place drink orders. They add an 18% gratuity on a buffet. Ridiculous! The goat curry was good but very oily. Not worth it. Doubt i would go there again

I don't claim to know a lot about Indian food. I've eaten at perhaps 5 or 6 Indian restaurants and I generally get one dish, that being Chicken Makkni. I stopped in at Tadka on a Monday night, just as they were opening. The building is very nice inside. The service was good. I was disappointed that the Chicken Makkni was only the chicken and sauce (with basmati rice). I also got flatbread, for which I was surprisingly charged $2 extra. Every other Indian restaurant I've been to included 2 or 3 vegetables. The chicken was very tender and was cut into thin strips, unlike the chunks of chicken I'd had at other Indian restaurants. The sauce seemed to be lacking whatever spice(s) that give the dish the distinctive flavor I'd come to expect. So the flavor was a dissapointment. And at $18 including tax and tip I felt ripped off. I could almost have had 2 meals that tasted better and included vegetables at a different restaurant for that amount. I will not go back, mostly because it is not a good value.

Worst Mexican restaurant ever! Didn't even attempt fake accents. The s'mores were terrible. How hard is it to make? Just chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker!

I don't get it- why is this place not busy on a cold Friday night? I have been here twice and I have left satisfied and happy. Maybe people only like Indian places when they have buffets;whereas, I am the exact opposite. I am always disappointed in Indian Buffets because they make their food to the taste of the boring American palette. I came her on Friday night and we quickly found a seat as only a few tables were busy. By the time we left around 7:30, it had picked up some but the wait staff still seemed to be too many for the customer base. We ordered Murghi Palak (Chicken and Spinach dish and Murghi Tikki Masala (Chicken Curry dish). We had a Bogo so the price was just right at about $13 a dish (for us $6.50). We also ordered Naan and Samosas. We ordered the food to be spicy which to be honest it wasn't quite as spicy as I like it. The first bite had good flavor but there was no latent burning feeling on my lips. The Murghi Palak was made the way I like it with a nice creaminess and nice chunks of Chicken. My wife and I both had enough leftover for another meal on Saturday. Now there are a few oddities I have noticed here like some of the staff looking quite bored and standing around waiting for customers. The one lady was at our table the second a dish was empty to take it away. The other oddity was the wait service as the waiter who took our order was great. I actually had a nice conversation with him about India, language, and religion. it was Eid so I was curious to see if they were going to be busy with Muslims for the holiday which they were not. But another man tool over at the end and I never got to thank our waiter. It made me also wonder who was getting my tip. I think this is one of the better Indian establishments and really like the ambiance in the dining area. BTW- one can also order Chinese dishes here (just another oddity.

Went for Sunday's lunch buffet. I tried a little of everything, and it was really all delicious. However, it's as if they had turned off the burners because all of the food was *cold*, though it was an hour before the buffet was to end. (Um, health inspectors, head down to Tadka please!) We waited 15 minutes in the lobby before being seated at a filthy table with food stuck to my seat and food all underneath our table. My drink glass was covered in grime too. I brought this to the attention of the waitstaff and instead of seating us elsewhere, they made us move to another table until they'd cleaned the other one. It still wasn't clean when they called us back to our seats. We were never, never offered drinks or menus. Thankfully there was complimentary water already at the table. After about 10 minutes, we asked if we could help ourselves to the buffet (we weren't sure if we got our plates from the waiter or not) and so we did. We were not once checked on during the entire meal. Our only drink option, water, was long gone and we couldn't seem to get a waiter interested enough to refill it. (I would have happily paid for a lassi or chai!) A lady did come by after we finished to take our plates, and the waiter (oh, are you are waiter?) offered to get our checks. I'm just a huge believer in proper customer service, and this was sooo sub-par. I hate to say it, too, because we've been here a few times before and had great experiences. This time, though, we felt invisible and left with a bad taste in our mouths. I won't be returning.

I'm a little surprised by the negative reviews. I had a good first impression here today. I thought the interior of the restaurant was beautiful and spacious. Plenty of parking. Bathrooms were ok too. I'm not a stranger to Indian food and I liked everything that I ate, and I got to try a few new things too. The only thing I got a weird vibe from was the waitress's attitude. She was really timid and I could barely hear anything she said. She looked completely perplexed when I tried to order a second mango lassi...um am I only allowed to order one? I mean she looked SO confused as to why I wanted a second drink that I felt self-concious for asking. Anyway, she never brought me another one, so fail. Also, she kept coming by to clear the table constantly, even when people were obviously still using their plate or glass. Overall though I really enjoyed it and would come back.

No idea why people complain about bad service. We had great service and even if it was bad the great tasting dinner would have made up for it. Go for any items from the indo Chinese menu and definitely ask for butter chicken with shredded pieces of tandoori chicken in the curry. Cant go wrong...take it from an Indian from NYC

Tadka is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Columbus! Their food is fantastic and is always presented very nicely. I don't care what time of the night you go, the place is always hopping - and I love that! The staff is fantastic and is very nice, but I have to give 4 stars because the speed of service, which could use some improvement. But give yourself a few extra minutes and try this place out!

This place is awesome!! My husband and I love Indian food and Dublin is rather void of it. When tadka opened we tried it out and thought it was delicious although a bit odd with the Chinese menu served in one room and the Indian in another room. We stuck with them because the Indian was so fresh and flavorful. Now served all on one room from one new menu, tadka is serving up some of the most flavorful indochinese and Indian dishes !! Tonight was our 6th visit and we were pleasantly surprised by new menus, plates, and a fresh sophisticated look to the dining room! There were even a few new Thai dishes on the menu of which we tried the Thai lime chicken curry which was delicious!!! I had the chicken korma and it was delicious as well. Our favorite appetizer is the chicken 65.... Monday through Thursday happy hour from 5:00-7:00pm has you paying $2.50 for house wines and half off all appetizers!!!

This place did not seem all that great to me. The thing that really threw me off was the fact that they have dishes in which are not full entrees. Like for example. I ordered their chicken tandoori here and I had to order the rice and other stuff separately. The restaurant is clean and dimly lit. The waiter that me and my guest had really had no knowledge of what was on the menu or what the menu items possessed.

We went for the Sunday Buffet right at opening, and I felt like they were not ready for us yet. We were not offered menus. No drink orders were ever taken, and no water offered until we had been there almost 30 minutes and were halfway done with our food. We helped ourselves to the buffet, all the foods we tried were excellent. I did not understand why there were so many curried dishes and no basmati rice in the place? This was a first for me. The food, not the service, will bring us back, and please add plain rice to your buffet!

The restaurant smelled great, the decor was modern, and we were seated right away by a helpful hostess. Unfortunately, we sat for 20 minutes looking at the menu, had more than decided on our food and were ready to leave, before anyone came over to say anything to us. We ordered right away and then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes. After our food finally came (brought by someone else) we never saw our server again. We had ordered two sides of naan but we only got one. Both of us were completely out of water. The table next to us loudly exlaimed "WTF! We've been sitting here for 20 minutes and no one has come over." The hostess took their orders. Looking around it seemed like everyone was unhappy, and the servers were just standing around at the back. No one ever came back to our table. We were there over 1.5 hours and I had to stop the hostess to ask for the check. It was ridiculous. The food was just okay, and certainly not worth the wait. Head to Amul India on Sawmill Road if you are looking for fabulous service and outstanding Indian flavors.

Went with a friend for lunch, also on the basis of a groupon. We were trying to go to Inchin's, but were invited into Tadka's instead. It turns out that they are actually owned by the same people and we were welcomed to use our groupon on either of the two menus. We were waited on by a couple of servers and possibly the managers. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. There weren't many other cars in the parking lot, but there were a couple of other parties inside the restaurant so we didn't feel too out of place or anything. With the two menus to choose from, there were hundreds of different options that were rather overwhelming. Nothing really stood out to us as particularly exciting or different compared to other restaurants, but with some help from one of the servers/managers we ordered the Tofu Hong Kong from Inchin's menu as well as the samosas, murgh makhani, and some garlic naan from Tadka's menu. We were told that the bullet naan was extremely spicy and were advised against ordering it. They also had a lunch buffet set up, which looked like your typical indian buffet you find in the Midwest, but were told that it closes at 2pm and shouldn't get it since it was already 1:45. The murgh makhani was very delicious, very much like chicken tikka masala that I've had at other indian restaurants. Just the right amount of creaminess, spice, and bursting with flavor. The tofu dish didn't have as much flavor, but was pretty decent. This was more than enough food for the two of us and we even had enough to take home for a meal the next day. The staff were very nice to us, but since it was getting late, our waiter seemed to be getting a little antsy at the end and eager for us to leave. He even told us that he was ready to take his break, so we paid and boxed up our food. But he said it in the nicest possibly way that we didn't feel too much like we were being forced out of the restaurant or anything. I would not count this against them since they seem like a small operation and there was no one else in the restaurant at that time and we had sat there for quite a while talking. Overall the food was quite delicious, but probably pretty typical for most indian restaurants; nothing too exciting. The staff were very friendly and attentive and we felt very welcome in this establishment.

Me and three of my friends ate here a few weeks ago and the food was decent. However, three of us got a pretty bad case of food poisoning that lasted two days. We couldn't move at times and had to stay home from work. I do not recommend Tadka. I'd steer clear if I was you.

I went with a couple of friends to this place just to go somewhere new. The entrance and interior of the restaurant were both incredible and the waitstaff was very friendly (they brought us a complimentary appetizer!). As a point of reference we ordered three entrees and two appetizers, plus the free one they gave to us. I, admitedly, am not an expert on Indian cuisine, but I've had my fair share of Indian food. I just didn't taste anything that was extraordinary here. One of my friends didn't like anything but one dish. I may be inclined to go back one more time, just to give it another chance.

I tried it out on lunch buffet at 2 pm. I got to say that I am impressed with the interior...very big but not with the food. Food was OK but they did not re-fill anything and got dried. We ate whatever left. Food wasn't hot and fresh due to 2 P.M. It's more for American customers. I want the real Indian food...not with Thai curry and Chinese noodle...real Indian food !!

Tadka's buffet is outstanding. I may have had it twice this week. Okay, I did. If you count Sunday as being part of this week and not last. This is possibly the classiest Indian buffet I have ever seen. A plethora of options and not at all sub-par to what you'd order for dinner. Amazing.

The family and I went to Tadka to celebrate Mother's Day. As a vegetarian, I love most Indian restaurants, as they tend to have vege-friendly dishes and....well, I love Indian food! I had not been to Tadka before, but everyone that I was with was feeling adventerous, and we all agreed that it would be fun to try something new. Upon showing up, we noticed that the entrance was very nice looking and the interior seemed to be very modern and fancy - certainly compared to most Indian restaurants in the Columbus area. It was exactly what we were looking for: a nice sit-down restaurant with a nice ambiance. All three of us were promptly seated and the servers were extremely nice. We had several waiters and they were all attentive; they showed up at appropriate times as well; there is nothing more I dislike than a waiter showing up every three minutes to interrupt a conversation. We got the malai kofta, baigan bartha, sabzi kalimirch. We also ordered a server of plain naan. I've been to many different Indian restaurants, so I have a bit of experience with north and south Indian food. I ordered the malai kofta because I know how that is typically prepared and assumed I knew what to expect. How wrong was I. The waiter first told us that the spiciness of every dish is up to the customer. Personally, I don't really care for this philosophy: certain dishes should be made certain ways and should be be tampered with. For instance: vegetable korma - it's a very mild sauce. It's wouldn't be appropriate to make it spice or extra spicy. I really feel that this can mess with the integrity of the dish. This being said, all of us opted to get "mild" spicy levels for our food. Back to my dish, the malai kofta - it was quite passionless. The waiter told me beforehand that the dish was not a "typical" dish because it was a bit sweeter than most. I told him that was fine. What I received was not sweet and resembled more of a gravy (think biscuits and gravy) than anything else. There were perhaps four very undercooked dough balls. Frankly, I'm not sure what the "balls" were, but they were extremely soft and doughy. They didn't have any taste either. It really tasted like a piece a white bread mashed into a ball. The gravy/sauce was extremely tasteless as well. It really tasted more like a traditional American gravy than anything else. I had a small, single serving with some basmati rice. I did not go back for seconds. My other companion got the baigan bartha. While slightly more tasty than the malai kofta, it was still quite unmemorable and simply distinct-less. Instead of any good qualities...it was really an absence of anything that was tasty. Much like me, she said that the dish was pretty bad and only had one small serving. Un-inspirational is a good description of the food that I tried here. My mother ended up getting, what seemed like, a Indo-Chinese dish. It definitely had an Asian flare to it and wasn't nearly as unpleasant as our dishes. Was it fantastic? Not at all, but it was somewhat better than the other two dishes. Being that Tadka is joined with Bamboo Garden, which I understand to be Indo-Chinese, I wasn't too surprised about this...but the menu didn't accurately describe this dish as a fusion. No harm, my mother said that she enjoyed it - except for the extremely hot red peppers that were in her dish. She had to dig them out and no one mentioned that her dish had these extremely hot peppers in them. The one thing that was good was the naan. It was well made and quite tasty. Although when it comes to Indian food, I would much rather the main entrée be could as opposed to the bread. The bread was the only thing we finished. I noticed the menu had carrot halwa on it, which is a favorite of mine, but I had decided that there was no way that I was going to risk it by ordering a dessert. I gave the restaurant two stars, instead of one, simply because the of very attentive wait-staff and nice environment. I didn't feel it was appropriate to give it a one-star rating based upon that. I really wanted to like this place but it was really a let down. With so many other Indian restaurants to go to in Columbus, I will not be going back.

When a strong craving for Indian food get ahold of me today, I decided to finally try out this buffet lunch... something that had been on my "to-do" list for awhile. My review is... Tadka is just ok. Good news: for only $10, you can eat until you turn into a curry puff in a super cute restaurant setting (that was packed by the way!). Bad news: the food is just average. I thought the slew of people would be indicative of amazing food, but maybe there were a lot of first-timers like me, just checking it out. Rather bland dishes, a lack of strong variety, lots of dark meat chicken and very little white.... it was simply average. Even the naan bread seemed inauthentic, like it had been brushed with country crock butter instead of that delicious ghee concoction I love. Save your money and go to Aab India in Grandview for the real Indian experience.

The decor is very nice in this restaurant - very modern with a pan-asian feel which fits the fact that this restaurant also shares space with a Chinese restaurant next door. The service was so-so but I was really disappointed by the food. I've made better at home. The Naan wasn't even that great here. And the prices were a bit high, especially considering the sub-par food.

Went there again recently with a bunch of colleagues. The food was as good, only the Prix Fix menu has been replaced by a buffet. To those who don't believe in buffets, and there are many, this is a smaller than usual selection. You won't find 38 dishes that all taste the same and make you regret the transgression on your stomach. Fewer dishes=more attention to detail and higher quality. I think it's about 10 dollars but worth taking first-timers to.

I pass by this place everyday on my way to work. I was anticipating the grand opening. My girlfriend and I decided to go on a whim one Friday evening. Thinking back now, it was right after it had opened and we probably should have went on a slower night. The place was already packed and there is not very much seating for just two so unfortunately they had to seat us at a four person table. The decor is nice but I don't ever go into a restaurant and judge on the decor. I'm there for the food! When we were first waited on, the waiter told us that everything is made from scratch so expect for it to take at least 20-30 minutes. So in defense of them, they warned us, which we were fine with. We ordered vegetarian samosas, garlic naan, rogan josh (lamb curry) and basmati rice. Everything is a la carte. We enjoy eating family style and sharing entrees so it was right up our alley. We got the samosas first, thought it would be a good starter while we waited for our entree. When they brought out our samosas they also brought out a cold curry potato salad. It was devine. Great complex flavor, spicy and delicious. By the time we were done with those, our entree was coming out. Felt like not much of a wait at all. Everything was delicious. The naan was fantastic and the lamb was perfect. We actually had plenty of leftovers. Wish I could give them 4 or 5 stars. Our waiter was very attentive up until we got our entree. Then we didn't see him for almost the rest of our meal. It actually started getting busier. More people were coming in and larger parties were being seated. And the way they have the tables laid out, all of the big parties go in the middle of the dining room and the dining room is not very large. You can hear what everyone is saying and it seemed that everyone had decided to bring their screaming child that evening the screams were somehow amplified because of the layout of the room. We could not leave fast enough and with our waiter M.I.A., we were there longer than we had liked. I can't wait to go again, during the week, when it's less busy hoping I have a better experience so I can change it to a 4 or maybe even 5 star. Food was great though!

One of my favorite lunch options. $10 buffet is almost always great. I miss the old Bamboo Garden lunch buffet back when they were separate restaurants, but the combo much smaller buffet is still good. Dinner is very expensive. Excellent quality food though.

I literally live walking distance from Tadka and I love indian food; naturally before trying it out myself, I read all the reviews on Yelp. I cannot disagree with the negative reviews more. First of all, there were two of us in my party and we stopped in on a Wednesday night around 7:00pm. There were two other parties in the restaurant, and we were seated at a booth. Someone mentioned that the seats sit low to the ground, but this is not the case for the booths (fortunately for me at 5'8 and my boyfriend at 6'4). Our server was very enthusiastic and shared some recommendations. We didn't opt for either because I'm vegan and my boyfriend is picky, but I'm sure what he suggested would have been good for the general lay person. Anyway, pretty much the moment we set our menus down our server was back to take our order. He told us it would be 15 minutes. About two minutes later he brought a complementary appetizer of potatoes and chickpeas along with two different sauces. It was delicious! Another six minutes later our food was on our table. We ordered chicken tikka masala ($13) and channa masala ($10) (though it was called something different). We received FREE basmati rice with our meal (unlike what someone else experienced in their review) and we also ordered both plain ($2) and garlic naan ($3). The portions were very large and SO SO SO good!! My boyfriend almost never takes home leftovers, but he only finished about half of his main dish (I suppose the copious amount of garlic naan filled him). Throughout our meal our waiter checked in on us, refilling our sodas ($2 plus free refills) and asking if everything was ok (though not too often). After we couldn't eat another bite, our waiter asked if we wanted to take home our leftovers. Another review mentioned that they don't have to go boxes, so I actually packed my bag with Ziploc containers :) but now they have really nice plastic containers and heavy paper bags to send home with you. All in all, I think this place must have been off to a slow start judging from other reviews (long wait, cold naan, no boxes, a la carte rice), but I guess they read the Yelp reviews because they've changed all of that. Tadka was fantastic and I can't wait to go back again!! P.S. The decor was beautiful. The dining room is painted two shades of slate blue with red accents and has gorgeous hard wood floors. The dishes are funky shaped white ceramic and the table cloths and napkins are black. It feels like a very classy place, but we didn't feel out of place wearing our metal band t-shirts and sneakers. P.P.S. They really do have TONS of parking. We live walking distance and can see the lot from our living room... it's never full. Quick! Go to Tadka and get your Indian food fix!

We decided to try this place since we got a groupon deal. We ordered the tandori chicken, naan and curry chicken. It was the driest piece of meat I've ever had, it tasted exactly like it's been re-cooked twice with a side of freezer burn. The server started out okay and then completely ignored us. No refills on any drinks until we had to ask and that still took 5 minutes. Then we had to wait another 20+ minutes before he would give us our check and he didn't even bother to pack our leftover like the other servers. And from other reviewers this seems to be a consistent problem, plus lots of employees just standing around not doing anything to help. This was a Saturday night and the place was less than half full. Overall we were disappointed and Taj Mahal is the only place to get good Indian food and terrific service.

I think Tadka is trying to find its niche. My husband and I have been a few times for lunch and we have gone a few times for dinner. While the food is always very good, I think Tadka is trying very hard to find itself. I actually really liked the Prix Fix menu option for lunch, which has now been replaced by a buffet, which featured some wonderful and new to me dishes. Cost wise, I think they are slightly more expensive than the average, but very high quality. The service at lunch is very attentive and the Chai is very well prepared. There is ample parking.

The only reason why I went this place again was free lunch coupon that was given by its sister chain Inchin Bamboo. The fine line on the coupon says that its valid if you buy 2 buffets and 2 drinks with it. I took 2 of my colleagues with me. They found meat with bone as a big put off for them. I cant complain about that aspect as I am a vegetarian. My food was over spiced , corn dish was probably borrowed from Inchin Bamboo.., I ordered a drink of Indian Tea which was not fresh .. was tasting like it was made in the morning or something. Other drink that my colleague ordered was a diet coke. That was a piece of joke. He told me that this is worst ever diet coke he has ever had in his life which was worthless sugary colored syrup without a fizz... Highly disappointing for the place that is well decorated... just reminding me of an old saying ....all that glitters is not gold!

If you're looking for the 'western' indian- food-experience, complete with ambience, the typical/predictable dishes you expect to see at an Indian place --you're at the right place. The overall experience is certainly pleasing to an unfamiliar palate; in terms of the food though...I'm yet to be impressed. I've been there thrice, once for the buffet, and a couple of times with friends, hoping for ....more. The food is not bad, samosas (appetizers in general) were nice and the tea is definitely a comforting cuppa! What was missing were the distincly indian flavors---it's as if the food was, well...., 'blandified' and the flavor had been deliberately blunted. If you have never been exposed to indian food, I'd definitely recommend it as an opening sampler, but if you get into Indian flavors and tastes, the food does not touch the authentic mark at all.

OK, so I wanted to try this restaurant out again, even though I said that I wouldn't. My mother and I went tonight to try the briyani. I don't think I have ever had this dish before and we knew it was on their menu. We ordered the veggie briyani because that of course that is the only way to get vegetables as an Indian restaurant (they never put veggies in their meat dishes). It did seem like the wait was long again, but I guess it was worth it because we knew it was nice and fresh. It came out in a metal pot covered with bread. It was soooo much food. We had to take at least half home and we shared one dish. It was a nice mixture of rice, spice and vegetables; and the bread covering it was nice and tender. As we were finishing, we overhead a waiter tell another table that rice comes with all curry dishes. I am very glad they learned! Over all, it wasn't too bad this time around. The decor is great and relaxing, but it does take awhile to get your food. I think we will go back to try the buffet. They gave us a coupon for the lunch buffet; buy one get one free with a purchase of 2 beverages. They do have a lot of dishes that I haven't seen on other Indian menus, so I guess it is worth another try.

We arrived at 9:30 on a Friday night, so it wasn't busy. We enjoyed everything we ordered and the service was excellent.....friendly and efficient. We ordered veg. samosas, buttered naan, chicken tikka , saag paneer and mango lassis. I mistakenly thought I had ordered the tikka masala with a sauce so when the chicken arrived without a sauce I was surprised. The server offered to have some sauce made up in the kitchen and he brought it out free of charge. I really appreciate this kind of customer service. The chicken itself was very tender and nicely spiced. In fact, everything was perfectly spiced for our taste. The complementary appetizer of spiced chick peas and potatoes was really good too. The rice was plentiful and the naan nicely toasted. We used one of the many coupons available ($10 off $40) and ended up paying $32 for 3 people which was pretty good for the amount of food we got. Will definitely return and order more adventurously next time.

Val and I recently went to Tadka, an Indian restaurant located off of Sawmill/161 in Dublin. We used a coupon from Costco's flyer for "buy 1, get 1 free buffet with a drink purchase." (A lunch buffet costs $9.99 per person.) We decided to hit the buffet on a Friday at 11 am to see if it was SMAC worthy or not! The atmosphere was clean and simple with tables adorned with black tablecloth and chairs and Indian artwork in the dining area. When we got to our table we were freezing because their heater was broken and was in the process of getting fixed (it would have been nice of them to tell us this in advance instead of us figuring this out on our own!) but the did have the buffet ready to go! I think because of the lack of heat, the food must have just gotten on the burners and so it was a little cold. The buffet consisted of a plain rice, chicken biryani rice (chicken seasoned w/ spices), vegetable biryani w rice (same spices as chicken biryani but w/o the chicken!) chicken with saag (spinach), lamb curry, green bean fagout, 2 dals (lentil soups), 2 vegetable dishes. They also served fresh hot warm bread to our table after we filled our plate up with food. Overall, the food was pretty good. Our second trip back up to the buffet consisted of us eating dessert-gulab jamin (layman's terms-fried doughnuts with sugary syrup) and ras maili (sweetened condensed milk with vermicelli noodles). Valerie really enjoyed the masala tea (cardamon, cloves and other spices). It definatley helped her warm up! So with our coupon and tip it was about $16 for 2 people! This is definatley worth the trip to Dublin. Another noteworthy tip--Tadka is a chain which is located in Atlanta, Cleveland and Chicago. SMAC Approved! I was pretty excited to finally have a weekday off to try the lunch buffet at a new Indian place near my house. Service was a bit off when I went, as I didn't get a drink (even water) or naan until after getting back with my second plate. That being said, the first and second plates were both very good. And the naan was amazing, but eat it while it's fresh, as the comparison to glass shards isn't far off when it gets cold... But that's my fault for not eating it faster. Very nice decor, and I plan on going back soon.

Slow service for average Indian food. The Tadka daal and naan were good but the rest of the food was less than flavorful. The ambiance is nice and the location is convenient, but that's really about it. Thank goodness I had a groupon otherwise the price would not have been worth it.

After some shopping, we were feeling hungry so we fired up Yelp to see what was around. Found an Indian place called Tadka and decided to give it a try. The place smelled great from outside and even better inside. With the exception of us, everyone inside, 30 or so people, seemed to be of Indian ancestry (and that's a good sign for an ethnic restaurant). We got the buffet and it was magnificent. 6-8 vegetarian selections and 6-8 meat selections plus condiments and desserts...utterly fantastic. Too many Indian words to remember, so please forgive my American. Lamb and goat curries with just the right amount of heat to them. Spicy on the lips, but only the flavor lingered. Yes, they have bones in them, it flavors the dish, deal with it (osso buco from Wolfgang Puck will have bones in it too and I've never had a goat dish without bones). The fish dish was spectacular; I went back for seconds and I don't even like fish that much. The mushroom dish was my favorite of the day, sweet and spicy and just incredible. Small potato and spice "fritters", spicy lentil dishes, some kind of veggie pakora; so many choices and none of them disappointed. Everything on the buffet was hot and well-tended. Oh, and hot fresh Naan (bread) was delivered to the table in a big pile. Chewy and delicious and perfect for soaking up all the delicious sauces and gravies. Two trips to the entree line were all I could manage. And then came dessert! Sweet carrot "pudding" (gajar halva), noodles and sweet cream (kheer), fried spiced dough balls with honey syrup, and fruit custard made for a yummy ending to a spectacular meal. The service was great; our waiter was extremely polite and very attentive. The room decor was clean and modern. The place was full of people but it never felt crowded. I believe the buffet was $13 per person, not the cheapest around, but well worth it. We found it almost by accident this time, but we will find it on purpose next time. I consider Tadka a great find and I happily thank Yelp for pointing it out to me!

After a long wait the place opened it happens to have 3 more branches .with big hopes went to the restaurant. decor is good . service is slow probably the worst I have ever encountered . Hoping that food quality and taste will compensate for the long wait was shattered by their tasteless greasy snacks ( had shami kebab , fried bhindi and paneer pakora ) . Main entree arrived after one hour there was no manager in the place people were yawning kids were crying as if they all knew how bad the food is going to be , in my opinion their should be an entrance exam for the Indian cooks to see if they even have basic ideas about cooking Indian cuisine . Our main entree which included karahi chicken ,dall and gobhi matar were below par laccha parathas (bread ) were burnt and hard o chew . For non Indians please do not visit this place for Indian food , you guys are the reason that many sub standard Indian restaurants are Still thriving (eg. Bay leaf) as you patronize them not ever knowing what a good Indian food should taste like . For people from Indian descent if you like this food you have a problem with your taste buds see a doctor .

Terrible Terrible service!! horribly overpriced for the kind of food they serve. Our server did not show up for a long time and we were not asked about our 'free' complimentary juice/drink until we were almost done with lunch (i.e not to be seen even after an hour of being seated)! finally when we did manage to get hold of one of them (still not server for our table), we were told they were out of most of the options! Food quality at the buffet was horrible - the rice was DRIED out which wasnt replaced for atleast 20 mins!!! Infact most of the dishes were not being replaced quickly. The tandoor was not replaced while we were there! The chef at tadka just doesn't know how to cook meat - cooking a chicken curry is basic knowledge and you have to be a terrible cook to get the chicken so tough!! the curries tasted good but the meat was overcooked!! The vegetarian food and the indian-chinese food section was tolerable but not worth the frikking 17$ they charge with the UNDESERVING gratuity that they charge.I will never ever go to this place again - esp not for the overpriced-under served buffet!! I will add that I have visited their innchin bamboo restaurant multiple times in the past and have loved their food. But ever since it has moved to the new place, the quality has just deteriorated!!

Visited on a Saturday night with 2 other friends. No problem getting a table -- the place is huge. Location is not "on the main drag" - not sure why they chose this location. Fairly decent crowd, maybe 20-30 other guests. Beautiful decor. Music is not traditional Indian. Dining chairs are fairly low to the ground and VERY sturdy/heavy. Waiter was very gracious in describing his favorite dishes and making recommendations. He specifically mentioned the curry dishes come with basmati rice. He brought us a complimentary appetizer (some kind of potato chaat). We enjoyed 1 tandoor dish, a chicken curry, and a spinach paneer curry. All very tasty, although the tandoor dish was downright SALTY. Also, when I asked for "plain naan", I should have specified that I did want it with butter - as it came completely dry, and therefore not as tasty as usual. Yogurt was $2 (highway robbery) but other prices were reasonable. Portion sizes were large. Will definitely be back to try other dishes in the future. (They do not currently have a liquor license but expect to receive one in the short term.)

My husband and I have been going to Tadka for as long was they have been open. We eat there at least once a week and have had Tadka cater our banquets. The food is excellent in terms of both taste and quality. Their dishes are neither too greasy nor have too much heavy cream added. They use fresh, high quality ingredients for all their preparations. Their menu offers a great selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes..some of these are unique to Tadka and are definitely worth a try..we always get the Achaari Ghost ( lamb/goat in a spicy sauce), Mirch baingaan ka salan (green peppers and baby eggplant in a sesame seed/peanut sauce), and vegetable pulao. Their rotis and naans are always fresh and melt in your mouth soft. The kebabs are succulent and taste authentic. No artificial food coloring is used. Tadka s service does not disappoint. The staff is caring and attentive and we have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering it. The complimentary chaat appetizer that they serve after you are seated is delicious. The owner and manager have come out to greet us on many ocassions..and making sure we are enjoying our dinner. All in all my family, friends and I are big fans of this restaurant. We always leave here with full stomachs and happy hearts.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
