This is a really good restaurant. It is clean. The staff are friendly and very nice - I have never been treated negatively by a staff worker there. The staff are always able to understand me and process my order quickly and efficiently. I have never had to wait more than five minutes in line while there. The good: Excellent location, right on a bus line, quick service, friendly staff. Also, always clean. The not quite as good: Sometimes can be crowded as it is on a college campus. Can also be loud (haven't had that happen often though).

The food was standard. It's Taco Bell. Wait time was what we expected. We didn't instantly have our goods but we didn't wait a century for them either. Register girl was nice. Yay. Clientele is stupid. Young, immature campus boys talk about the dumbest things and usually make unnecessary messes. They should be caged after a certain hour.

Like the "Best Wendy's Ever" I reviewed last week, the Taco Bell on south campus is so unique that, while it may be "just another Taco Bell," its well worth a review. So let's get to it! First of all: the food here is no better (and probably no worse) than any other Taco Bell. While I love me some Taco Bell, I know it's horrible food. It just barely resembles something vaguely Tex-Mex, but chances are that if you managed to navigate to Yelp.com , you probably already know how you feel about Taco Bell food, so I'll spare you the mediocre, bland details. What makes this Taco Bell my favorite Taco Bell is quite simply all the character it has. It is very often during the school year absolutely swamped with business from all sorts of people- drunk students, nearby residents, motorcycle clubs, and a healthy attachment of police officers. When it gets that busy, it takes a while to get your food. This would normally be intolerable at anything that claims to be fast food, but when it's jumping here, it's really jumping. You might witness just about any kind of personality and any kind of interpersonal exchange in the window between ordering and getting your food. I've watched couples go to the bathroom together for what I could only guess was either a terrible, frightening emergency or a case of hormones run wild. I've seen people walk in and try to take a tray of food they obviously never ordered. I even watched one customer pull out a bag of weed when he meant to pull out his cash to pay- the cashier admonished him to hide it quickly, since there was a cop in the store. The way movie ticket prices are these days, this is some of the cheapest visual entertainment in town. I like to drop in, drop $5 on way too much disgusting food that I love dearly, and just sit and wait. Perfectly A-OK.

Visited a few nights ago and ordered 2 different side sauces at the speaker, nacho cheese and guac. At the window, asked for a lot of fire sauce. Received: 1 fire sauce packet (wow, so much thank you!), incorrect cheese (ordered nacho cheese, received a side of shredded cheese), and no guac. When I asked about the gauc, was told I "did not order it at the speaker and they can't add anything at the window." (Even though I had asked for it with an order of nachos.). And yes - you can add an item at the window or open a new order, but that's beside the point. Just because you're working at Taco Bell at on a week day night does not mean you have to be dead inside. Pulled away realizing we received shredded cheese and not nacho cheese, had to go inside to exchange. Got stuck up attitude from both window drive-thru employee and front register employee when I asked to exchange the shredded cheese for the nacho cheese I ordered. I have worked in the service industry for years which is why I am disgusted by how I was treated here. ABYSMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. if you must have Taco Bell, go to another location unless you're okay with a single packet of sauce. Will never return to this location because they treat their customers like trash. They function under the assumption that every customer is a drunk dimwit because they are located on campus, which is not the case.

Yeah it's Taco Bell, actually this location is what CC and I affectionately call "Pizza Bell" because the have Pizza Hut personal pies and breadsticks. The people that work here are so nice, I don't know how they manage to be so happy with all of the campus traffic and it's related nonsense. You will wait in a long line if you show up for fourthmeal while the OSU kids are in town. Well run location, four stars.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
