Pros: Everything! This place is amazing all around. Cons: None. Maybe a bit expensive but I'm happy to pay the price for good sushi. Review: This is THE BEST sushi in columbus. My husband and I go here almost weekly, and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Their rolls are delicious and fresh, their cooked plates are amazing, and their prices are pretty average. Plus it's right next to the movie theater so it makes for a great date spot for dinner and a movie!

Went there for lunch and I feel it is somewhere I will return for just that. Had crab roll and shrimp tempura and it was pretty good. Co-workers of mine had the salad and soup and said it was good. Service could use some improvement but overall a good experience. I will be back for lunch but would look elsewhere for dinner.

I had been to Sushiko a few times years back so the place wasn't new to me, even though I found out later that it had switched ownership. I had the "volcano" spicy tuna specialty roll this time, which turned out to be much better than most of the other sushi places I've had both in Ohio and New York. As an avid sushi lover, the freshness and quality of the tuna was the difference and had markedly improved since the last time I ate here. The rolls appeared to be bigger as well. I was able to engage in some small talk with new owner and found out that they get fresh shipments of fish 2-3 times a week which is pretty good compared to other places. Price is not cheap, nor is it as expensive as places like Sushi.com , so this place is probably more for sushi enthusiasts more so than casual sushi eaters or those looking for promotions (they do have some on Mondays). Now they seem to be targeting patrons who are more picky about their sushi and fish. Which I can't say is necessarily a bad thing if you are getting high quality sushi.

Love their Sushi! We had the Dragonroll, California Dream and a Philadelphiaroll for lunch. Basic rolls but they were just perfect for us. Sadly the service was kinda slow but everyone was friendly. I will definitely go back there some time.

I've come by for lunch a couple of times so far. For my first visit, I tried one of their weekday lunch specials, and although I don't remember what exactly I ordered (it was a while ago), I remember coming away feeling like it had been good but not standout (hence the not remembering). But more recently, I returned and ordered from the fancy roll menu, getting a King Kong roll: shrimp tempura and cucumber on the inside, seared albacore tuna, avocado, jalapeño, and tobiko on the outside, and topped with some kind of sauce. To balance out with something a little different and a bit more standard, I got a spicy tuna hand roll, as well. Both were delish, and the server kept my cup of tea filled and hot. Good sushi just makes me crave more, and I really wanted more. While those lunch specials look really good next to the standard prices (I easily spent twice as much on those two rolls this time as I did on one roll and a selection of nigiri last time), and you might have to wilfully ignore their call if you focus too much on the cost, I don't regret having strayed from the specials this time.

The best Sushi I have has had in a hole in a wall place in Hawaii so I'm pretty picky when it comes to sushi. Walked in on a Tuesday a few weeks ago. The place was nicely decorated yet simple and I thought the dim lighting made the restaurant inviting. For a Tuesday around dinner time the place was pretty empty. I sat down at the Sushi bar and was helped right away. I ordered a simple roll of tuna and cream cheese. I was planning on ordering another roll, but after the first roll decided against it. The roll was oddly squishy and warm. The tuna tasted old like it had not been stored correctly. Even though I only tried one roll, I personally wouldn't go back to this restaurant. The Krogers in Worthington has better sushi for a better price. There are definitely other places in Columbus to get far better sushi.

Good atmosphere, excellent service . I was surprised to see Bulgogi on the menu at a Japanese Restaurant . I went for it. Best I have ever had. Large portion, well spiced and not greasy. I will have to return on my next stay on Columbus .

I am always game to try another sushi restaurant. I tend to judge Japanese restaurants by how well they measure up to Akai Hana, just be warned. So far nobody has quite measured up. This one gets 3 stars. It was good. It wasn't spectacular. I'd gladly go back. They had a very wide array of interesting-looking house rolls. But I always order miso soup at a Japanese restaurant as a bit of a test. This one was just adequate. It didn't taste terribly homemade. I also ordered hot tea; I have never not been given a pot and a cup when ordering tea at a sushi restaurant, here I received one mug of tea. I had the fantasy roll, a roll featuring several fish and soy paper instead of seaweed. It was very good. The sushi itself was okay. It was a little pricey, but I hesitate to criticize any sushi restaurant in the Midwest for prices - who'd trust cheap sushi in Ohio? I'm sure I'll be back, if only because it's next door to the Marcus Theater and $5 Tuesday movie night. I do recommend it, but don't expect to be blown away by revolutionary sushi.

Good, solid pick for sushi in a Midwestern landlocked state. We were staying at the Sheraton across the street when my craving hit. Checked Yelp and decided to give it a go. I ordered carryout two days in a row. I found the service to be fine. The workers were not rude but not overly accommodating or generous in the smiles department. The craftsmanship of the rolls could be better, some of the pieces were falling apart. I wasn't too worried about it though, since they tasted great and the price point was right. I had the Spicy Tuna, Red Dragon and the Ninja rolls. I think the Ninja was my favorite followed closely by the Red Dragon roll. Solid and safe pick for good sushi if youre in the area.

Service was a little slow and spotty... Waited a long time for refills and for our entrees and sushi rolls; however, when the food arrived, it was excellent. Very delicious and fresh. The kamikaze roll was amazing! Pricey, but within the range for good Japanese.

Being from Hawaii, I love good sushi! I'm also picky about my fish. Sushi Ko is the best sushi in Columbus that I've found so far! The staff are great and the food is always fresh. A bit pricey, but it's worth it for the great experience my husband and I have while dining in. 4-22-14 I haven't been in about 6-8 months and I'm so sad that they don't have 1/2off Tuesdays anymore! But it's still really good sushi.

We have tried several spots looking for good sushi in Columbus guided by Yelp. When we decided to give it a try to this place, we were prejudiced because it had worse reviews than others we had already visited (and that we do not like). I am glad we took the chance either way, this place should have higher reviews. . It is not the best sushi I have ever eat in my life - a con for me is that the rolls are cut into rather big pieces but what can I say, I am picky - but it is done with care, the food is delicious, the attention has always been good (we have already eaten there three times) and the price is more than fair. I think we have have found the place now and when it comes to sushi, we might stop listening to Yelp reviewers - no offense intended.

The sushi here tastes better than it looks, and it looks amazing. The chefs here are true artists. It was great to watch them work together. They really have a positive vibe going, and it shows in the plates they send out. Top quality and moderate prices. So fresh, and huge portions for the price, they really seem to be in it as much for the love of the art and their customers. Worth the trip from anywhere in town or the state for the matter.

For sushi in Ohio is decent. Not the best craftmanship but rolls look interesting. House salad needs a little bit of refinement. Carrotts strings very long and thick making it hard to eat. I had the Naruto roll. This is a roll wrap with cucumber. They first wrap the fish in seaweed, which it's not supposed then in very thick cucumber. It was very difficult to eat. They didn't used the ponzu sauce but roll was swimming in this sweet vinegar sauce. Tasted like.plain rice vinegar. Not pleasant. Staff was very nice reason.

Though sushi is the specialty, this cozy little place a stones throw from the Marcus Crosswoods theater also serves up some tasty Japanese grub. The restaurant isn't very big, but the bright lighting and spacious arrangement makes it feel roomy, and there is space for some fairly large groups. Or, if you prefer, there is always space at the sushi bar itself. Decor is typical - wall scrolls of Japanese ukiyoe prints, some cute maneki neko with waving paws... it has a simple, clean feel to it. As the name implies, the focus is the sushi, which is pretty darn good. I especially liked the sweet potato roll which was both sweet and crunchy. We also split a sushi-ko roll which had some great ingredients and a nice texture. Both were well put together and tasted fresh. I was even more impressed by their main courses. I tried their yakisoba which was probably the best I've had since leaving Japan. The texture of the noodles was fantastic, and the taste spot on. Definitely something I would order again. However, I also really liked the chicken katsu one of my companions ordered. ...seriously the best katsu I've had in a long time, it was plentiful and surprisingly juicy. Too many times, katsu is beaten so thin and fried so hard that it becomes dry and loses all its flavor. This, though, had great flavor and was addictive to eat. Lucky for me (or considering my waist line, unlucky...) my companion couldn't finish it all :) My other companion had a sushi meal with salmon which certainly looked amazing, but I can't comment on flavor since it's just not something I like to start. He enjoyed it though and that's what matters though so.... They do have some ice cream, even tempura fried ice cream, and a few other treats for dessert, but we opted to skip on this visit. Service was very good and polite. They were always there with the tea when you needed. The only complaint I'd have is that we were given one menu for the entire table which, though not an uncommon practice, is one I have never really liked. Anyway, definitely give this place a try if you want some tasty Japanese cooking, and keep in mind that Tuesday from 5-10 they have half priced sushi. There is also a 10% off coupon online... which I wish I'd remembered on this visit but... oh well.

Ordered 2 sushi rolls. When I got home I realized one of the rolls was not what I ordered. So I went back. They were apologetic and said it doesn't happen often. They made me my correct roll. When I got home the 2nd time, they had taken the correct sushi roll out of the box, and left me with the original incorrect roll. I'm okay with one mess up, but twice in the same order? Unfortunately, sushi ko has lost my business.

We've come here several times over the years for the 50% sushi deal and been satisfied. It's no longer half-off, but deeply discounted into three different categories: $3 basic maki, handrolls, several apps (seaweed salad, et al.) $5 more apps, spicy rolls $7 limited array of special rolls Some of our old favorites were no longer included in the special rolls :( The sushi is of decent quality-not quite on par with California / NY restaurants that I frequent, who fly in fish same-day from Japan, but for heartland sushi-really not too bad. We got more than we could eat for about $40. When we're in town, it's where we'll go to satisfy our sushi cravings

So, a week or two back I get a call from my doctor, mind you, I'm driving to Columbus when he calls. Anyway, doc says, fish oil pills don't work, eat salmon twice a week, stay vegan the other19 meals. Twist my arm Doc! Sushi Ko is a place my salmon loving self has been wanting to get my chop sticks wrapped around for years. I'd read reviews on here, and online and has been voted a top sushi house in Columbus for many years. I sit down with good friend of Joe, Josh, and salivate at ALL the salmon offerings. I chose a grilled salmon roll, a crispy salmon skin roll with smoked salmon, and a firecracker roll. Yeah, salmon overload, but I hadn't had a nice piece of oily salmon in two years and I was ready to dive in. Besides, all those fish oil pills that i take that just pass through the body without being absorbed, I needed to give my heart the Omega 3 it needed to keep it healthy, The grilled salmon roll was huge, the fish was cooked perfectly, the rice was still warm and it was amazing, oily, fishy, and delicious. The salmon skin roll was like healthy bacon wrapped around warm rice and smoked salmon, incredible! And the raw salmon in the firecracker roll was pure heaven. Great Staff, A bit pricey, but its the best in Columbus and I don't mind paying for top quality.

Originally I was going to give Sushi Ko 5 stars but I dined at Blue Ginger before I was able to review....the sushi at Blue Ginger was cheaper, bigger, and better. In fact the sashimi I ordered at Blue Ginger, one piece was literally twice the size as the piece I got from Sushi Ko. Nevertheless, Sushi Ko is pretty darn good. The service is great, it's a decent sized space so waiting is kept to a minimum, and the food is pretty good. I usually go in for lunch and get the 2 rolls for $8 deal. I add a diet and a piece of Octopus and I'm out the door for around $15.50 with 20% tip. The rolls are very good and just the right size for lunch.

I used to come here for their half off happy hour specials...the cherry blossom with the spicy crab was delish! I liked the fantasy roll too...I haven't been back since their new management, but its a nice little spot for a quick dinner.

Bibimbop is traditional Korean dish. It is fabu. I lived in Koreatown (Los Angeles) and never had one as good as this. I'm a vegetarian and had the tofu version but the Sushi Chef told another couple that fish is best. Btw, they no longer have 1/2 price Tuesday Sushi - ended it early 2014. I'm in a local hotel and will eat it again before I leave town.

It's not the best, not the worst. I had the "Treasure" roll. It's essentially a rainbow roll with snow crab and spicy lobster salad inside. Honestly the inside tasted dry. It just didn't taste fresh. The seaweed salad is average, Nabayaki Udon was ok but the chicken was oddly seasoned, also dry, to much broth and not a lot of other things. The server(s) seemed like they wanted to be anywhere else, which ya know, I get. But it was to the point that we felt like we weren't really wanted there.

Rarely do I have dinner solely with sushi. On many occasions, I've fallen in the trap of shelling out for some of the best and freshest sushi around. I leave wallet empty and with the anticipation that within hours, my tummy will want to be fed more nom noms. She's quite the temperamental creature. With that in mind... Tuesdays! Tuesdays! Tuesdays! Half off sushi Tuesdays- I ordered two variations of dragon rolls, generously topped or filled with avocadoes/eel/shrimp tempura, plus some miso soup. Total came to $13. I left feeling completely stuffed and the quality ranks up there with some of the more decent sushi I've had. Best deal ever! My only qualm is the wait. One time we were told 45 minutes. Other times (when we arrived later) we were seated almost immediately.

I eat here at least 2 times a month, for the past 6 months. It's nice, quick and delicious. It's right next to the movie theater, so it makes a great place to grab a bite before catching a flick. The sushi is very good. We always sit in Marshall's area, he's great to us, knows just what to bring and how we like it. We usually have a Gluten Free person with us, so he remembers what she needs, too! And...because I've been to them, I'll give the bathrooms a thumbs up, as well. Er....well, I've been to the Women's at least. LOL. Large and clean. They seem to have a huge selection on their menu, and plenty of "non-sushi" offerings for those looking for a hot meal.

I came for lunch on a Monday, which one would figure to be the worst day of the week for fish quality here, but was suitably impressed nonetheless. I had the sushi combo (4 nigiri plus Cali roll with soup and salad for $12), and everything was good. Service was prompt and friendly, and there was free Wifi (ask for the code). My only gripe is that they use fake crab, which seemed borderline for this price point (though it may be the norm here in Columbus). I'll be back to try the chirashi (not served at lunch) next week...

I love reading the inanity from Californians visiting and telling us we cannot have fresh fish. Funny, in this modern era with all those flying machines racing about, one would think they put that fish right on there and....but no, it is Ohio, and the best we can say is "Would you like more corn with that meat?" Seriously. I like the bento boxes at this place except I always eat too much. The sushi is yummy and the combos fun. Service not perfect but consistently good. My office is very close and this has become a default for sushi lunch. It is busy and popular for good reason. Oh, wait, I forgot. I cannot discern good sushi as we are in OH. No fresh fish here, no how. Thank you, visiting Californians, for setting us straight.

I liked it. It is so off the beaten path that it was a surprise. I was expecting Sushi Ting level of quality, and it was quite tasty. The service, however, was a bit slap-dash. The waitress seemed to seldom be around. My associate had the bento box (teriyaki salmon, I believe) and it looked quite delicious, and a large amount of food. I had two rolls, and it was very tasty and filling. The miso soup was perfect (ha, like another said, 'not funky') but the salad was definitely drowning in dressing. I'd like to come back to try their specials, but the lunch special was decent enough, that if I want sushi for lunch, I'll be back.

Sushi in the midwest is dicey. You're options are always going to be hit and miss when you're this far away from the ocean; and that's what Sushi Ko is. Hit and miss. I've now been to this particular establishment several times, and there is always something wonderful with each visit........and something unpaltable. It's sushi, it's fish, but it shouln't taste like weak old sea bass when it's samoln, which is what my wife ran into when we were there most recently. That said, all of the other food ranged from passable to quite good, and was an excellent value since it was Tuesday which is half price sushi night. That being said, if you are living in Columbus, or just visiting, you have far better options in places like Tensuke and AkiHana (who are owned by the same people).

This place is just passable. I'd say the sushi is on par with what can be found at a nice grocery store. I had the spicy tuna and the salmon roll. Both were unimpressive. The yaki udon was nice and had good flavor. Without trying the yaki id haven't given this place a solid 2 stars.

I just want to start by saying this is mostly a service review. Our total in-and-out time hovered around 2 hours and 15 mins - way way to long in my opinion. While we waited we were told multiple times that we would be seated in a few minutes - try 40 minutes. The waitress was not very friendly and took our orders a disappeared. We had to flag down another waitress for waters - twice. Our table ordered between 1-2 rolls each and watched as groups who had come in after us were seated, ate, and left all before we got our food. When the rolls finally came they were very sloppily decorated. One of my rolls was even split open - the sea weed did not wrap all the way around it. Not bad tasting, but not worth it for the price, time spent waiting, and bad service.

My family had dinner there recently. Their avocado roll is delicious and a must try, the spicy squid is very tasty. My next favorite is their fresh salmon nigiri, then cherry blossom roll. The atmosphere is great, place is clean and our large family were seated in a private room (we had 7 kids), which was really nice. Will definitely go there again.

Good little spot for lunch. People were filing in constantly at a few minutes after 12pm, so I'm glad I got there at 11:30. Sashimi and rolls were very fresh and reasonably priced. Will definitely stop here next time I'm in the area again.

1/2 PRICE SUSHI ON TUES 5-10PM!!!! I about had a happy heart-attack when I saw that sign! The discount makes the sushi dirt cheap. Not to mention, their sushi is remarkably good. Quick with food! The only issue I really had was that they only came to fill drinks once...at the end of the meal when we were handing in our bills. Also, they took forever cashing us out. Granted, there were eight of us, but 15ish mins still seems a bit long for me. Can't wait to visit again on an upcoming Tuesday =)

I always have a great experience at Sushiko and I've been a frequent diner for about 4 years now. Half price sushi night on Tuesdays is an amazing deal but get there early or you'll wait a good long time for a table. Their lunch specials are also fabulous and very quick. I am obsessed with their Volcano roll and the sweet potato roll! SO delicious. Once when I was dining with one of my friends, the owner came over and poured us a free glass of wine! Service like that, paired with the fantastic food will always keep me coming back!

true to the 3-star saying, "A-Ok." The half off rolls is now limited to only certain rolls and only on Tuesday nights. No drink specials. And that's ok. For those that eat fish, the normal sushi is pretty darn good looking. My S.O. was pleased. Not overly impressed, but pleased. Most of the more interesting $13 or so rolls were not included in the special. Still what he ordered was fresh and tasty. As for a vegetarian experience, I still greatly prefer the yama yama and the harvest rolls at Haiku. There's just a whole lot more thought put into it, they are bigger and the presentation is a whole notch higher. I ordered the yam rolls here, and they were ok- the tempura fry didn't seem to be fresh, it was cold. Adding cream cheese added a dollar... I was also upcharged a dollar on each roll to substitute soy paper for the nori. So, meh overall for me. It was ok, but not something I'd seek out again. The rolls were ok too - but left me searching for that something more.

This place is amazing! After trying several sushi places in Columbus we found our go to. Their specialty rolls and the sauces they use make this place great! Service is good and ambience is what you would expect but the food blows you away. This is one of our favorite places to bring guest from out of town to and if you have never been get off your butt and go to Sushi Ko!!! Enjoy what you eat!

We have been to nearly every sushi restaurant in Columbus. The only one we go back to on a regular basis is Sushi Ko. I've never had a bad meal here, in fact, we always have a wonderful experience. The staff is always a charm. We especially love sitting at the sushi bar and watching them create the rolls. Now down to the food. We always start with the spicy crab salad, which is topped with real shreds of crab and spicy yum yum sauce. There is a perfect amount of crunch and dressing as well. We've tried all different types of rolls and shashimi and the ingredients are always fresh and the perfect texture. I love the hand rolls with soft shell crab, which are filled with crab shreds, avocado, and rice. The salmon shashimi is always 100 percent perfect. I've been to many places that don't use high quality salmon and it ruins the meal for me. The salmon's texture, color, consistency, and taste is one of the best I have ever had. Never had a bad roll, or a bad experience in the 4 plus years we've been going here. Love it!

I've loved Sushiko from day one. The first time I went to it, I researched "the best sushi in Columbus" and found that their prices for the portions couldn't be beaten. I traveled 30 minutes just to take a chance on getting some amazing sushi and they did not disappoint. They had sushi Tuesday's and Thursday's for a while, but they eventually cut out the Thursday's. Still, I choose to go on the days that are NOT half priced. I have found, consistently, that the fish is fresher, the avocado isn't browning, the entire sushi dish is much more presentable and tasty. I feel like the chefs rush because of how busy those days are. Possibly they are trying to move older product? Whatever the case may be, I still hands down vote this as my favorite sushi restaurant and will continue to devour until I burst.

Sushi Ko I'm about to wreck you and your 3 star rating. Reasons to avoid: -Your wait staff decided to maroon our small party to a separate room where no one could see or hear us-or could you? -You took our orders, rushed out the food and drinks and never returned-why? -Twice we had to look for one of our two waiters so that we could order more drinks/food. -Overpriced. Typically when you place an order for sushi you get two pieces of fish for around $3-$4. Not here, here you get ONE piece for $3. HOLY GUACAMOLE!!! -Beyond rude. Rude. Very rude. Yes you. -Second-rate sushi. The spicy tuna hand roll was weak. The Buckeye roll had a horrible after taste. The Super White Tuna sushi was rubbery. -I asked you twice to please fill up my water cup-this never happened. -No complimentary miso soup or edamame. Reasons to give you a second shot: -You are the only sushi restaurant near my friend's home. -The Hulk roll was spicy, mama like. -You have alcohol. If you like this restaurant its not your fault you just don't know any better.

TUESDAY 1/2 PRICE ROLLS and select Saki! Sushi Ko is positively the most amazing sushi at the most amazing prices on Tuesday night! Every roll is beautiful, crafted with pride and meticulousness, and of course delicious! I recommend visiting many times and being adventurous. Beer drinkers, order Asahi - they have the large bottles.

I'd have to agree for the most part with Mike K, however, he has forgotten some considerations. First, why half off sushi one night a week? My guess is that they are trying to get rid of their old fish, which would lead to the fish being aromatic and not fresh tasting. As I've also only been on Tuesday, I'd be curious to see what it was like on a non-half-off night. Second, I've eaten the raw tuna and yellowtail and have never had problems, gastro-intestinally speaking. However, it is not fresh, and you could get the same thing at Kroger or Giant Eagle without having to wait around. Overall, stick to the cooked stuff and you'll be fine. If you want raw, go for it, but don't go expecting too much.

With a sushi list that's back and front, and an attentive staff that is more than happy to help you what could possibly be wrong with this place!? I stop in at least once a week and I have yet to be disappointed!

I love Sushi Ko, it is my favorite place to go whenever I have the opportunity to go out to dinner without my children. The wait staff has always been friendly to me, one of our waitresses told us once that the wait staff shares the whole floor and that they split the tips at the end of the night, this may be a reason why some people reviewing this place may be confused about the service. My favorites, that I cannot go here without getting are the seaweed salad and the Volcano specialty rolls. Oh, and a large Sapporo. I highly recommend this place to anyone craving Sushi.

This is really good sushi. Everything I've ordered has been really delicious. There are a number of really good sushi places in Columbus and this is one of them. I wish I could remember the rolls we had so that I could tell you what to order. And don't be thrown off by the price. Every roll is HUGE! it looks expensive, but isn't, compared to what you get. Half-Off Tuesday seems like a great idea, so if you want to try it out, go then. It'll be worth it.

Based on my experience, this is a fine sushi restaurant. It is not the best I've ever had, but certainly good quality. I personally did not find anything that stood out and eccentric or special. Like I said, the quality was good. The plate design was pleasing to the eye. The service was not warm, but neither was it rigid. I have eaten in a carried out. Details of the meal (packing and extra chopsticks and condiments) are included in both. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend Sushi-ko. But I wouldn't consider it a destination place.

I visit Sushi Ko just about every time I am in CMH. It is a ritual for my colleagues and I. Used to come on Tuesday for the half price gig, but not worth the wait. Also, Wed they get their fresh fish, so I rather go on Wed and enjoy great sushi at the regular price. Also, the Tuesday special is getting more and more limited. Friendly staff, many know us by name or certainly recognize us as frequent diners.

I can't profess to be a connoisseur of sushi. The only kind I eat is vegetarian (I'm not a vegetarian but I'm also not a big fan of seafood). So when I go to a place all I'm concerned with are the asparagus rolls, the avocado rolls, and the cucumber rolls if the other two are unavailable. Sushi Ko has all three and they are very, very good. The service here has always been exceptional, and occasionally the water fillers border on hovering. My food has never taken too long and it is always well presented, though it isn't anything too fancy. It might be different if I got a more complicated roll. If you want to try Sushi Ko out, call ahead and find out if they're doing lunch specials or happy hour and go then. They had some great deals, up to half off, and it seems like a good way to try it without breaking the budget.

One of my favorite places to get sushi! The staff is always nice and the food is always good. :)

I truly enjoy sushi and like to check out the different restaurants in Columbus to see who has the best rolls. I have never been disappointed with any of the rolls I have ordered. The service is friendly and fast. So if you are in the north part of Columbus and looking for sushi give this place a try. If you save $200 worth or receipts you get a free shirt. They also have a coupon on their website for 10% off your order.

SERVICE: I really like this place and don't know why people aren't so happy with it. I've had nothing but the best service every single time I've gone. The sushi chef has even plowed me with free sushi to try when I've sat at the counter. FOOD: The sushi is pretty good. In fact, I'm a connoisseur having grown up and spent most of my life in LA (yes, I'm a SoCal girl so I'm debunking other reviewers) where they have pretty amazing sushi and it is one of the best places I've gone to for standard sushi (even compared to more swanky places like Typhoon or Haiku) in Columbus. The rolls are well sized and the portions of everything has been very good and although the price per sushi is not that good, the rolls and all else are very good. The lunch specials are very well priced too. I do have to say that their ginger is not good. It's got that chemically preserved smell and taste -yuk! I also wish that the sushi selection was more adventurous but I suppose they are catering to the masses. Where can I get monkfish liver around here?! AMBIANCE: The only thing I don't like about this place is the ambiance. The decor is nice and clean (very important for a sushi place!) enough but there's something I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's the crowd or the lighting but there's something amiss. We just go for the food though which is worth it.

I've been to Sushiko three times. The first two times were several years ago, and the service was as described in several other reviews: cold and inattentive. However, I went back this year and it seems to have improved greatly. So I'm willing to give it another shot. As for the food: I'm no snob. I've eaten sushi in several different coastal cities in Japan, in addition to Japantown in San Francisco, so I've probably experienced what some would consider the best possible situations for sushi-eating. Yet the fish here at Sushiko (and some other Columbus restaurants) tastes just as good to me as that fish did. Maybe my palate isn't refined enough to note the difference between great sushi and good sushi. I don't care. I like what I like, and what I like is nigiri. And it tastes great here, end of story. You know it's great nigiri when it melts in your mouth like butter, and the toro here did exactly that. Kudos, Sushiko. A couple more good experiences and I'll bump you up to four stars.

Pretty average. I would definitely come back, but it's not my first choice in town. It is a bit out of the way too. The fish was fresh. The service was good.

I had never gone to Sushi Ko before, and jsutn wanted to get something different to sneak into the Marcus theater next door. I can honestly say that i need not go back, not because it was a terrible establishment, but just because it left me unimpressed. In times like this when im trying to get more and more creative with what I bring into the movies....mediocre sushi is just not on the menu.

I'm not a sushi expert by any means, but this place is pretty great. I had the lobster roll which appeared to be smaller in piece quantity than the picture. But it was delicious and very filling. My partner had the tempura and that was tasty as well. And my Kirin beer went well with my dinner. Seemed reasonably priced for a good dinner for two in worthington.

This is my favorite Sushi bar ever! I have been eating sushi since I was like 7 and I've been all over. Now sushi on the coast is the best; however, they lack what SushiKo has. I have been coming to this restaurant for about 5 or 6 years now. I go so often that I have become friends with the owner, I can't say enough about how wonderful of a person Jin is. If you go (and he's there, which is almost ALWAYS) you should meet him. He's sweet, he'll take care of you, and he knows customer service! On Tuesday's they have half price sushi (on most of their rolls) which is amazing! You can't go wrong with half price :) The SERVICE might seem cold from several customers perspective, remember this is their second language and they are learning still. Jin is awesome and the girls are all very sweet too if you can make them comfortable enough to talk! The ATMOSPHERE is clean and Jin has recently made a lot of upgrades to make the place nicer, there are also large flatscreens so guests can watch whatever game is on (if yours isn't on, just ask I'm sure they'll change the channel). The FOOD is always made pretty quick (as quick as you can make fresh sushi) and always presented nicely. Here are my favorites: Edamome, Cucumber salad (mmmm... my mouth is watering now), Unagi, Buckeye roll (this is tempora and good for the "scared/beginner" sushi eater), Cherry Blossom (my favorite, favorite, favorite), Teriyaki chicken (for the non-sushi eater), and of course sakÃ! I can't wait until Tuesday now!

On the recent New Year's Eve, we were craving for sushi's. Wanted to go for sushi at Akai Hana but unfortunately, the entire restaurant was fully booked that night. So, we did a search on some alternatives and found Sushi Ko via yelp. The restaurant was not full that night, the waiter who served us was attentive. Their wine selection is pretty good. We ordered a few sushi rolls and we were disgusted on how much sauce (like mayo and chili sweet sauce) they put over all these rolls. The sushi would have tasted much better and purer if the sauce was minimized. Because of these sauces, we hardly taste the deliciousness of the sushi. We would never go back.

Randomly wandered in with my family on a half price sushi night while in town visiting. Fantastic sushi and pleasant, patient server made for a perfect night out!

I really like this place alot. It is clean with a smooth atmoshpere. Great sushi every time without fail. The service often sucks and that makes it difficult to have an award winning meal. Don't get me wrong, the staff isn't rude so much as it always feels like it is everyone's first day. They have started doing a half price thing on Tuesdays which is great, but the place gets packed and waits get crazy long

So here is the deal, Every time I go to a new restaurant I want to write a 5 star review. I don't go out of my way to bag on a place. Having said that, I have to agree with my fellow SoCals that have been here. This place is average at best. Perhaps, it's too much to expect good sushi in the Midwest. The quality matches the low expectations you would expect from a region that isn't accustom to fresh seafood. This may sound snobbish, but it really is the truth.

This place is pretty mediocre as far as the raw fish goes. I usually come here for the half price Tuesdays and get nothing but spider rolls and other tempura rolls. The eel is also pretty good. The sashimi tends to have a fishy smell and taste and is pretty gross so stay away from that. I've had the uni a couple a times and it was good, so that is a safe choice as well. Stay away from the raw tuna and yellowtail.

Went today for lunch and had a great time! Their lunch special bento boxes are a great deal!! My mom and I shared the chicken teriyaki which came with miso, salad, California roll, vegetable tempura, rice and zucchini salad for only $9.95. The chicken teriyaki was one of the best we have ever had. There was a generous portion of sauce and the meat was good. We also liked that there were veggies mixed in that are missing in other restaurant's teriyaki. We will definitely think of going there again when needing a place to go to lunch!

First of all, sushi in Ohio is just plain weird. There's a reason why there is hardly any Japanese or Mexican restaurants in Columbus, OH. Second: the service sucked A$$!!!!! Twice.... yes 2 times, I had to stand up to grab someones attention! Once to order our second round of sushi plates and the second time to get the check! We shouldn't have paid, but we're good citizens, so I got up to let the hostess know we were ready. And our first waiter didn't even check up on us for more drink orders or if our sushi was delicious... yes we had two waiters that night. Third, the prices were ridiculous! The only thing that was priced reasonably was the sake. I guess the typical California Roll and Phillie Roll were priced somewhat reasonably, but their "special Sushi Ko" rolls were from $12 to $16 for 6 to 8 pieces. The sushi itself was okay... not the best I've had but they did get creative with the combinations. And they even let us change the one sushi/jalapeno combo called "Ninja" to a vegetarian version which we called the "Last Samurai". So that was the only plus of the night. Overall I won't be eating sushi in Ohio again when I visit my good friend, and I wouldn't recommend eating at Sushi Ko unless you're into no service or service with a dash of attitude. The only reason our group had fun that night was because #1 there was sake, #2 all of us were together and #3 we now have several jokes about yelping them!

We are not going back there. I should have trusted my gut feeling. The restaurant was sort of in an isolated location. I regret giving 20% tip when the waitress kind of blamed us how they messed up our order, she said it was because we didn't order everything all at once. We ordered a philly roll for starter, and it was served the last, which tasted like a damp rag, fish didn't taste fresh. They gave us some kind of spicy tuna roll when in fact we ordered rainbow roll which was a little dry, for $12, so not worth it. The Alaskan roll was mediocre. Kid's menu options are about $10 each! Prices are outrageous for the quality. We were very disappointed.

We've been to MANY sushi places in Columbus. Mr. Sushi, Sushi Rock, Typhoon, Haiku, Shoku, Akai Hana (which I'd also give a high ranking, but not 5-stars, like I do Sushi Ko). Jin, the owner, takes pride in creating innovative dishes and sauces for his cuisine. Akai Hana is probably the only restaurant that comes close - but if you've never had Sushi Ko and you're looking for the best stuff in Columbus, look no further. Nestled in by the IMAX theater and a bunch of other businesses that have disappeared for lack of visibility and Polaris cleaning them out of their profits...Sushi Ko remains profitable....for a reason!!

Some of the best sushi around in Columbus. I really only frequent this place on Tuesdays (much like everyone else) for half price sushi. And because everyone loves half price sushi, the wait can, at times, be a little lenghty. Ive found that around 8-9 ish the rush wears down and its not too bad of a wait to get a table. Service is pretty quick with drinks and your orders. Super Crunchy roll is by far the best thing ive ever eaten. O and who doesn't like a full bar with your sushi? I know i do.

May not the best sushi i have ever had but overall it is pretty good. Half priced sushi on Tuesdays, that's enough to keep me coming back. If you come on a Tuesday night and are in a hurry don't bother, u will have to wait for a seat, people like to sit and chat for 45 minutes after they are done with their meal.

This was a so-what kind of place. The food was just so-so and the prices were on the high side. The businesses around it are almost all gone (empty). They seem to be doing an okay business but I won't be back.

I came for the 1/2 price off sushi... unfortunately, they decrease the menu quite a bit. However, they're still good. The service is FAST... and good. My favorite out of the menu is negihama, and the volcano roll (no longer on the 1/2 menu) is very delicate and tasty. Overall, it's a great catch if you come here on Tuesday between 5-10pm for the 1/2 off sushi... can't beat the price and the quality is decent!

Although I grew up in California, I admit I am not a sushi expert. But, I love it, eat it at least twice a month, and believe Sushi-Ko is the best in Columbus. Excellent quality sushi, very friendly chefs behind the sushi bar. I can't comment on the non-Japanese menu items because I always have sushi. 4.5 stars, deducting 0.5 star to 4.0 overall because service is spotty (curt at best, incompetent at worst).

Sushiko is fantastic. My friends and I always make the effort to go there whenever we're in Columbus. We found the place because it was right next to our anime convention location years ago and now we're loyal customers. The best value by-far is the Bento box lunch special. You get rice, sushi, tempura veggies, salad, soup and your choice of meat (which determines the price). They're green tea is out of this world and our waitress was even kind enough to give us a small cup of their green tea leaves when we asked where they got them from. I can't wait to go back!

I don't write reviews too often, but I wanted to write a quick word about how great this place is. Maybe a little bit on the expensive side but go on Tuesdays for their half price menu from 5-10pm. Very worth it, amazing rolls! I would take anyone there in a heartbeat. Wish they had a place like this closer to home, I would be a regular.

Many people have recommended this restaurant during my frequent visits to Columbus and my stays in Worthington and I finally made it. The first night that I visited I had their Paradise roll and 2 pieces of unagi, WOW, both amazing. The flavor lept off of the food and the quality was amazing. Even as important, the price of these dishes was more than reasonable, actually less expensive than most Sushi restaurants. Although sushi is not the first thing people think of in land-locked states, the variety they offered and the quality was top notch. They have a variety of creative and fresh rolls, sashimi, sushi and other dishes, all were very unique in many ways. I aided both meals with some of their hot tea which was very good. Service was quick, accurate, friendly and fun. I had to come back a second night and was somehow even more satisfied. I had their Ichiban roll and some sake as well as had the chance to sit at the bar and chat with the owner as well as some of the servers. Again, they were all extremely friendly, offered great suggestions and the meal was incredible. I will frequent this place as often as possible.

"OYSHI" This is my place favorite place to go for sushi. I have been frequenting Sushi Ko at least once a month, sometimes more, for over 6 years. I love the owner, he is super friendly and always provides me service with a smile. The staff remembers my name every time I come and always make me feel welcome. I feel the prices are a great value and the food is always fresh and well prepared. I have sampled bits and pieces of the entire menu. The noddle dishes are flavorful and filling. The tempura is delicious and crunchy. The gyoza and edamame are great apps and I love the trio salad and the Bi Bim Bap. The service can be on the slow side at times, but they are working hard on improving this and on nights when it is not packed to the gills, I think service is fine. Tuesdays may be the exception as they are running a special of 1/2 price on a good portion of the sushi rolls so the restaurant gets very busy and can tend to back up with the amount of food being ordered. However, when it is 1/2 price it is the absolute best value in Columbus (I think at full price it is still a great value). My absolute favorite rolls are the traditional Negi-Hama & Negi Tuna rolls, the deep fried Ninja and Sunday Morning rolls and the spicy tuna and red dragon rolls. I always order my Spicy Tuna with no avocado and add crunch to the inside, this way is amazing. I personally can not remember a time that I ate here and left feeling disappointed with the food. Overall, unless some place new opens up and steals me away, my loyalty remains with Sushi Ko. I look forward to every meal that I have here and after writing this review I am going to go get some dinner. I am one happy sushi lover every time I visit.

Was on a family vacation in Columbus and went to Sushi Ko based on recommendations on Yelp. Being from Arizona, you always worry about sushi in places where there is no ocean....Good meal. Had a spicy tuna roll. Sushi menu seems heavily focused focused on rolls. Also offers some Korean dishes. Service was fine despite other reviews.

Never liked sushi before I went to this place. Got me hooked up for sushi honestly I haven't tried much sushi from other places mainly because it is very expensive. go on Tuesday its 1/2 off!! Go with some buddies try at least 4 types and go home with a full pleased stomach and 10 bucks off your wallet!! House Sake is 1/2 off on Tuesday too!! Place get filled up so if you are a big group I warn you you might have to stay for 30mins or longer till you get a table but still worth it, staff is alright and watch out for the cougar waitress ;)

Is it as good as seafood on the coasts? No. Is it really good for the midwest? Absolutely. Go on Tuesdays for half price. You can get 2 plates of sushi and sake, and walk out for under $15.

Being from California, I have high standards for Sushi.. As far as Columbus, Sushi Ko may be good, though I've definitely had much better. The fish was not caught this morning fresh, nor was the seaweed. That said, the service was good, and they do have Korean dishes on the menu, which may be better than the Japanese.

I eat here all the time. Their sushi is consistently good, & often superb! The servers are generally attentive, although sometimes they seem to forget to check in on you.

The decor was simple. The restaurant is clean and the staff was nice. The food itself is great and has a really wide variety of different types of sushi and rolls (too many to count). One of my favorites is the Cherry Blossom Roll which is delicious with the spicy crab salad on top. Another one of my favorites is the spicy sashimi salad which surprisingly had multiple pieces of sashimi which was a really good value. While it was really spicy, I couldn't help but keep eating it. I would definitely recommend this place.

Recently, a friend and I had a wonderful lunch here. I had the beef teriyaki bento box; she had a sushi lunch. The portions were plentiful, the food was delicious, and the service was courteous and prompt. We look forward to returning soon!

Sushi Ko makes a solid lunch stop. Not much ambiance for dinner, though. I stopped in for a quick lunch the other day. The service was good when they were around. I felt a little forgotten at times. Green tea: served scalding hot. Too hot. I want to drink it NOW. Miso soup. Nicely done. Salty and not to funky. That's an important thing at lunch, when I can't wash it down with a Sapporo. Spicy salmon roll. Smooth and sharp. The spice builds and lingers nicely. Alaska roll. Tuna, avocado, asparagus. All of the flavors were fresh and came through clearly and evenly. Cucumber roll. A nice clean in between roll to keep the other two in check. Decent meal.

Really good sushi. Especially for not being on the coast. I eat sushi on the coast regularly. This sushi is just the same!! Fresh and it is prepared with great visual beauty. Staff was very attentive.

Delicious! Great lunch special! Prompt service and comfortable atmosphere. I'm hooked! Tuesdays are nice when sushi is half off; it's the perfect setup to eat and then go see a $5 movie next door at Marcus Crosswoods.

Yuck. Ever since New ownership ( mint investment) the food has gone downhill. The portion shrunk, we ordered few rolls they were half the size of other sushi Place. We ended up spending over 100 for two and still not full. Further the rolls are almost the same I can't tell the difference between volcano and spicy salmon roll. All the rolls tipped with imitation crab to fancy it up. I will not repeat.

(5)John H.

(5)Ramona W.
Love their Sushi! We had the Dragonroll, California Dream and a Philadelphiaroll for lunch. Basic rolls but they were just perfect for us. Sadly the service was kinda slow but everyone was friendly. I will definitely go back there some time.
(4)Lea P.

(2)Steve C.
Good atmosphere, excellent service . I was surprised to see Bulgogi on the menu at a Japanese Restaurant . I went for it. Best I have ever had. Large portion, well spiced and not greasy. I will have to return on my next stay on Columbus .
(4)Lori S.
(3)Megan T.
(3)Rebecca C.
Service was a little slow and spotty... Waited a long time for refills and for our entrees and sushi rolls; however, when the food arrived, it was excellent. Very delicious and fresh. The kamikaze roll was amazing! Pricey, but within the range for good Japanese.
(4)Trisha H.
(4)Corina P.
(4)Brad B.
(5)Ode E.
(3)Carolyn E.

(4)Tasha B.
The sushi was ok but the waiter was very rude I was wit my friend and he didn't eat sushi but he sill took me and the waiter kept asking him wat he was going to eat after he told her 3 times he was good then when she bought out my sushi she set it in front of him then I asked for yum yum when she brought it out my food was almost gone and she set it in front of him like why and I was gon leave a tip still but when she gave me my change I had my hand out she put it on the counter smh i will never go back it's not worth is the sushi not that good
(2)Bob T.
In town on business, looking for sushi. I was not disappointed. Great service up at the sushi bar. Fish was fresh and flavorful.
(5)Zain K.
(4)Christopher G.
Good sushi and great service. A little loud on the music.
(5)Tina D.
Fastest sushi service we've had, but the rolls were still well made and tasty. Excellent attentive service too.

(3)Keith B.
(3)Christianne L.
Great atmosphere, the food was delicious! A bit far for me but it was good. I had the Cucumber Salad .. yo that was delicious. I dont know what kind of dressing that was on it but i was fantastic...

(3)Joe B.
This place is just passable. I'd say the sushi is on par with what can be found at a nice grocery store. I had the spicy tuna and the salmon roll. Both were unimpressive. The yaki udon was nice and had good flavor. Without trying the yaki id haven't given this place a solid 2 stars.
(3)Jenni V.

Stopped in around 5:30 for dinner. Friendly, welcoming service and fresh, tasty sushi. Nough said. Stopped in around 5:30 for dinner. Friendly, welcoming service and fresh, tasty sushi. Nough said.

(4)Allison H.
Good little spot for lunch. People were filing in constantly at a few minutes after 12pm, so I'm glad I got there at 11:30. Sashimi and rolls were very fresh and reasonably priced. Will definitely stop here next time I'm in the area again.
(4)Matt G.
(4)Megan D.
(4)Jessica H.
true to the 3-star saying, "A-Ok." The half off rolls is now limited to only certain rolls and only on Tuesday nights.

(5)Andrew S.

(5)Aaron W.
Man that's some good soosh! Very friendly staff. We ordered half of the sushi menu and everything was great, from the hamachi & scallion to the spider roll. All ingredients were super-fresh.
(5)Eric T.
(3)Marissa A.
With a sushi list that's back and front, and an attentive staff that is more than happy to help you what could possibly be wrong with this place!? I stop in at least once a week and I have yet to be disappointed!
(5)Tonya D.
(5)Joshua S.
(4)Julia T.
I'm giving this place four stars for three reasons: 1. Sushi is good 2. Sushi is reasonably priced 3. Service is decent
(4)Ellen F.
(4)Z P.
(4)Sabrina L.
(4)Dianna W.
One of my favorite places to get sushi! The staff is always nice and the food is always good. :)
(4)Mel R.
(4)Rhoda T.
(4)Dennis L.
(3)Jeff P.
Pretty average. I would definitely come back, but it's not my first choice in town. It is a bit out of the way too. The fish was fresh. The service was good.
(3)Kevin H.
(3)Sammy T.
(5)Jessica L.
(5)Foodie W.
(2)nancy d.
Randomly wandered in with my family on a half price sushi night while in town visiting. Fantastic sushi and pleasant, patient server made for a perfect night out!
(5)Peter D.
I really like this place alot. It is clean with a smooth atmoshpere. Great sushi every time without fail. The service often sucks and that makes it difficult to have an award winning meal. Don't get me wrong, the staff isn't rude so much as it always feels like it is everyone's first day. They have started doing a half price thing on Tuesdays which is great, but the place gets packed and waits get crazy long
(4)Russ M.
(2)Mike K.
(2)Jenny B.
(4)Shannon F.

Very good sushi, especially the 2 for 1 special day.

Ordered sashimi and it was cooked. Nuff said.

Best sushi in Columbus by far. The fish just melts in your mouth. The white tuna is my favorite here.

I have tried this place yesterday..Man, I didnt expect this will be good but Sushi is awesome.. Prices are usual as other Sushi bars but the atmosphere is more sophisticated and neat. Yes, I recommend you to try if you are near or at Westerville.

Delicious! Great environment and wide variety of plates... Will coming back soon!

I have been eating here for last 4 years...They have great sushi and the tuesday deal is great!

Best miso soup this side of town!!! Nice and friendly and the interior was contemporary fusion of American - Japanese design. Food was quite good.

Loved the Sushi Ko Roll. Top quality sushi and service at the sushi bar was excellent.

In my travels, this is one of the better sushi restaurants I've come across. Everyone is so friendly, and the good is consistently good. Highly recommend.
