Only Chinese spot I go to in town! I come at least once a week! Tons of vegan options. Helena the owner is super awesome too and remembers us every time we come in! Best vegan Chinese food I've ever tasted

After a dozen visits (and while literally sitting here waiting for takeout!) I thought it was time to review Sun Tong Luck. Sun Tong Luck is one of the first places I visited after relocating to OH and I have been a regular visitor ever since. The food is sooooooo good! Everything is prepared fresh to order and they do vegan right. All of their sauce bases are vegan and basically all of their menu can be adapted to be vegan. Their tofu is tasty. The veggies are fresh and still have some crunch. Soggy veggies make me sad. They have vegan fried rice available as well as vegan spring rolls. Like I said, so good! Helena is so sweet and helpful! Half the time when I come in I just have her surprise me with a main entree and a noodle or rice side. I am never disappointed. I HIGHLY recommend her Singapore noodles. Her curry blend is fantastic! You can buy little cups to go for $1 and I always snag an extra. Another thing about Helena... I don't know how she does it but she always remembers names. She has some magical ability to recall names and it makes you feel so welcome. She always greets me by name and asks me to say hello to friends I have brought in. It kind of makes me think of what it would be like to go into a place that someone in your family owns. But the thing that makes Sun Tong Luck standout from other places is the food. Fresh. Hot. Delicious. They don't use food coloring, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup or preservatives. Perfect.

Tasty, inexpensive Chinese takeout food. Really nice people. They offer very good dim sum all the time, though Helen literally broke my heart cutting back to just offering pork instead of the pork and shrimp shu mai that I loved so much... :-( Good place.

First of all, Helena is a sweet heart. I had what is most definitely the best take out call ever. She even called me honey! Our order was ready in a speedy ten minutes. We breezed in and out of the shop, but not before noticing their firm stand against hydrogenated oils. Thanks for looking out for me! We ordered a veggie curry and pad thai. Both dishes were delicious, although I'd definitely recommend the Pad Thai! We could tell the food was freshly cooked and that coupled with the level of service makes this a go-to for anyone craving quality, speedy chinese. Definitely recommend!

Hands down the best Chinese in columbus! Any of the breaded chicken dishes are out of this world. I love the general tso's, the breading is light and crispy and it's all white meat chicken. I usually don't do breaded chicken at other places because it's always mystery meat. This place is awesome and the service is wonderful. They are very helpful and will answer any questions or make modifications as requested! Definitely a staple on my cheat day list. :)

It was typical Americanized Chinese food. It tasted decent but definitely not within the top fews of my list. We ordered sesame chicken, general tso chicken, and spicy garlic beef. A bit overpriced for its offering. Honestly wasn't so sure why people raved about this place so much...

  • Rebecca L.

The food was delicious for the most part. Egg rolls were definitely just okay, and the fried rice that came with our meals was literally just a funky color of rice. No veggies mixed in or anything. Sure hope that's not what it would be if ordering it as a dinner. However, we got the sesame chicken and the Kung pao chicken and they both were EXCELLENT. So good. The chicken in the sesame chicken almost seemed flash fried-but not heavily fried in crap. The chicken was delicious white meat-definitely no mystery there! I was very happen. The Kung pao def was one of the best flavored I've ever had. My only complaint regarding the entrees were the size. We got large portions to share with a friend and if was hardly enough. But my fiancé and I will definitely be ordering for just the two of us in the future

So I'm going to admit because most of my reviews this week have been off and then you see this one where it's a little bit better. I was not feeling well all week and still feeling about the same. Why I picked this restaurant is because I really wanted to try the Singapore noodles and I was able to handle the curry better than I thought. Like any other day it would be cool but this week I've just been off, like I can't even drink anything too acidic or anything that will disturb my body. I loved the noodles and they had a lot of flavor. The price for the noodles was great. I would compare it to China Way because the lady there also tries to keep her prices low so people will keep coming back. Next time I really want to try the pad thai, it look great as well. I will have to bring my husband here soon. I'm sure he will like the orange chicken or any of the noodle dishes.

I decided to give this place a try after reading many yelp reviews! I was initially excited to find a Chinese restaurant in Columbus. It is a small family owned shop and it is not hard to miss because it is located right at the end of the plaza. I ordered the chicken lo mien with veggies. The noodles was drenched in sauce and there was a lack of flavoring or seasoning. I would have to say the customer service was good; the lady greeted me with a big smile so that was a plus!! I might come try this place again and order something others recommended in their reviews.

Best Chinese food I have had in a long time. Food is great and the people are very nice. I recommend

Best Chinese I've had in Columbus so far! The owner was extremely friendly, and joked with us a we were picking up our food. The ordering and picking up procedures were extremely speedy too. And the food! Excellent. The egg rolls were packed with meat, the potstickers were extremely tender, and the Kung Pao chicken was seasoned perfectly. We got enough food for a small army, and it still came in at about $26. If you're looking for a place to get good Chinese food fast, this is your place.

If you want the "best" Hot & Sour soup in Ohio, well, I challenge you to find one better. Food is always fresh and tastes great. I saw all the newspaper clips and Helene, and her brother, have won many awards. Her dinners are very reasonable priced. We love coming here, or just taking some dinners home.

Man... what is it with me and driving by these Chinese places and going.... "Meh.. maybe next time." I'm so glad I finally made the decision to stop here the other evening. You walk in to Sun Tong Luck, and there is really no ambiance to speak of. There's news articles dating from 1984-current about the restaurant, and some random cliche asian prints here and there. The chairs are probably about as old as the restaurant as well as the wallpaper. It'd be nice if maybe they considered a facelift to grab some dine in customers. However, I'm not really here to look at wallpapers and tiled floors... I'm here for the food. You walk up to the counter, and there are just pictures of the food tacked above. No names... no descriptions, so look and decide what appeases your appetite. I settled on the Singapore noodles and the husband settled on Fried Rice, wonton soup, an an egg roll. My Singapore noodles with shrimp was the bomb. It was really flavorful, and left me scarfing it up real quick. With a lot of places cheapening out and serving salad shrimp in everything.. it was really nice to see some nice big ol' shrimp in my dish.. and more than three of them at that. The eggs rolls were decent. Nothing extraordinary, but they hit the spot. My husband remarked that the wonton soup wasn't bad, but the broth had little to no flavor in it. Service was as expected from the other reviews... friendly, non invasive, and courteous. They remark as having the best General Tso's in town, so perhaps that may be on a future return trip. Sun Tong Luck was a step up from the regular strip mall.. mass take out Chinese places in the area and earns an extra star for the thought and care they put into their food. This may be a minor thing, but they carry different fortune cookies from the pictures here on Yelp, and I will remark that they may possibly be some of the best fortune cookies I have ever had. Yes, something so minor.. can make such a difference.

This was our first visit to Sun Tong Luck after adding it to our "places to check out" list upon moving to OH. We were not disappointed. Helena is incredibly nice and is very proud to use :no hydrogenated oil, HFCS, food coloring, or preservatives (rightly so). Very vegetarian and vegan friendly! We ordered from the vegan specialties list: Tofu black bean sauce and Spicy garlic tofu, both full size. First, the portions are very generous! We both (very happily ) had enough left to pack away for tomorrow. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, the sauces were unique and delicious, and the tofu was lightly fried to golden brown. Helena also suggested we try a vegetable spring roll, while promising that the next time we came in we'd order two, right again. The wrapper was light and crispy (even after the car ride home) and we greedily ate our respective half and hoped for more. I can't wait to come back , this is a stand out place that really cares about their customers and menu. Next time, the vegan singapore noodles and TWO vegetable spring rolls, please.

I just discovered this place a few weeks ago and it has easily become my go to Asian restaurant in north west Columbus. It isn't flashy on the inside but that's ok because the food is top notch. The ingredients always taste fresh including the shrimp! The hit and sour soup is always great and they know how to make things spicy!!! If you're in the mood for Asian food and anywhere near sawmill/bethel you owe it to yourself to stop here!!

My first time at Sun Tong Luck was such a great experience. It's a hidden gem among all the Chinese restaurants. Don't let the ordinary menu options fool you. They cook everything with real effort and real ingredients, even your ordinary general tso's chicken. First impression of the establishment, it's a classic setup for your normal Chinese dine -in/take out place, you can see the back kitchen behind the counter, which btw is very clean. I was greeted by a very friendly lady, who I believe is one of the owners. I decided to try their signature dishes: Singapore Noodles with a side order of freshly prepared to order Hot and Sour Soup. I ordered it to go, and the owner brought out the soup immediately after it's ready, because I told her that I wanted it since it's prepared per order. The soup was spot on, loaded with bean sprouts, tofu, and surprisingly a large amount of tender chicken breast bits. While I was waiting, the owner told me their noodle supply is carefully selected to make sure it does not absorb all the grease and oil while cooking. After tasting the Singapore Noodles, I must say I agree with her. The noodles taste very refreshing and chewy, not soggy or greasy at all. Unlike some cheap Chinese restaurants, the dish was bursting with fragrance and flavor, yet the curry taste was not extremely strong. The portion was also great, with plenty of veggie, chicken and shrimps. I am very impressed by the history of Sun Tong Luck, and am happy to see they continue to serve the local whole-hearted. It's one of those places in the neighborhood that you know you are getting the real stuff. Their dedication to their food is much appreciated.

We decided to step out of our usual Chinese food circle and give this place a try. We did take out and when we got home and tried the food, the sauce on our dish was sour like it went bad. I'm not sure how or why, maybe it was their off day.

YUM YUM! And the best prices too! I wish YELP was around five ten years ago, bc this would be a update to say it is still the best option in Dublin!

  • Farid S.

The food here is just ok in my opinion. The biggest surprise is that they only serve chicken, beef and shrimp. No pork option found on their menu. Ordered the Shrimp Singapore noodles which was just OK. Not much flavor, and Instead of thin noodles they use the wide noodles used in their Pad Thai. I may consider giving this restaurant another chance.

So happy our family found this gem. Owners take so much pride in their restaurant as they should. This place is the perfect example that fresh, healthy food without added preservatives, coloring, etc makes for better tasting food.

Excellent. I have several pet peeves with many Chinese restaurants but Sun Tong Luck checked all my important boxes. 1 - fresh to order. They don't make it until you order it. 2 - Ingredients. They don't use that processed meat you find in many chains. The chicken was real chicken. 3 - Sauce. Plenty of sauce and not a level of spicyness that overwhelmed but instead enhances the taste like it should. Just excellent.

Truly a wonderful restaurant. Don't let the location fool you. This isn't a run of the mill hole in the wall. Instead it's a modest little walk-in that serves some of the best food in Columbus. Strike that, some of the best Chinese food anywhere... Everything is fresh, and cooked to order, po-style. They'll do custom dishes, and they're fabulous. They care about the quality of the food they serve, cooking with saflour oil, and using no msg. I had lunch here on average twice a week for 14 years, and in all that time Frank and Helena were friendly and gracious to every customer. I think (and I'm not exaggerating) Helena knew the name of every repeat customer by their second visit. She has the best memory I've ever seen. And, it gives you an idea of how much they care about what they do. It's a family restaurant in the best way. Their menu isn't complicated, but, for the size of the place, is quite large, with good variety. Everything is good. Some of my personal favorites are the kung pao chicken (which they made xxxxtra spicy for me, and sanely to order for the non-spicy-addicted folks), their chicken curry (they blend their own curry), the garlic chicken, pork lo mein, and crispy pork. Try the Jasmine iced tea. Sadly, I moved a while back, so I don't get back here much, but not more than a day or two goes by without me thinking about them and their amazing food. I miss you guys!

A great little mom and pop Chinese place. The food is good and reasonably priced. The owner is one of the friendliest people I've ever met and always makes you feel welcome.

Not only does Helena make beautiful food, but it's not full of all the additives, food coloring, and other things that make me stay away from a lot of Chinese food. She is always very nice and calls me by name. My kids love her place too!!!!!

We always get carry out, because it's very small and it's in a strip-mall. I've never had anything I didn't like. My go-to dish is the Chicken & Shrimp Singapore Noodles, which I didn't think I'd like when I first got it because the noodles are thick like fettuccine. The flavor is SO good, I have to make myself stop eating when I'm full, it's so tempting to eat more. My husband gets the spicy garlic chicken, no broccoli, they get it right every time. Also plenty of flavor. Yummy egg rolls, always crispy, hot and sour soup VERY, VERY good. Helena prides herself in using only healthy oils, no MSG, and she is always cheerful. If you happen not to like something, just tell her, and she will genuinely want to make it right.

What's not to like about Sun Tong Luck? The owner is just so nice and funny. Makes me smile every time I go in there. I ordered on the Sesame Chicken last night, and it was great as always. It was enough food for me to be full, and, for under $10, it's a good value. I can't wait to try some of the other things on the menu.

  • Christopher T.

Love this place. The owner Helena is very warm and inviting and always remembers my name. The General Tso's is unlike any other I've had and worth a try even if it's not something you usually order, however I've never had a bad meal here.

Have been a regular for over 20 years, mainly at their original place on Livingston Ave. in Reynoldsburg. Helena and Frank have the best food around. Try the Singapore Noodles and the Hot and Sour Soup, I've never had better anywhere! Eating here will spoil you on most of the other Asian cuisine around!

  • Blaire W.

I ordered house lo mein and a spring roll. it was a different type of noodle (the shape was like fettuccine not spaghetti) and this was a welcome difference than what I was used to. It was a nice portion for the price. I will definitely be back!

Awesome. Excellent. Superb. Not sure which adjective to use to describe this restaurant since they all fit. When it comes to Chinese food, I am sort of a one-trick pony. Food allergies. I would not wish them on anyone. Well, some people, but that is not part of this review. I usually order the General Tso's chicken. It is my measuring stick for all Chinese restaurants. He also out ranks the Colonel when it comes to poultry. Needless to say, the General Tso's here is excellent. The sauce is not overbearing like some other places, which I think is done to cover up the low-quality meat. It is also just spicy enough, which is important now that I am getting older. The ol' esophagus isn't what she used to be. The owner uses only the best ingredients, so it is written on the menu, and I am very inclined to agree. This dish is also available with tofu for the vegetarians out there. Someday I may try something else, but until then, check this place out. Keep an eye on the hours of operation because they are different from most other Chinese restaurants. Let me know how those other dishes are.

  • Cherie R.

The woman here, like every else says, is SO very sweet. :-) She is truly concerned about you and your experience. I have a whole lot of food allergies, and she was very careful to make sure I could eat whatever I wanted to eat! That being said, this place is on the other side of town, so I won't be coming here very often. The chicken with black bean sauce I got was good, although I would have liked a few more vegetables. I hear people raving about the noodles, but I didn't see them on the menu. I'll have to ask about them if there is a next time.

I'm vegan, and I love going to this restaurant. Why? When I go in, the owner remembers my name; she did this after only a few visits, which is really rare for me. Along with my name, which is a nicety, she remembers the fact that I'm vegan, and aside from the regular vegan options on the menu, offers specials that I might be interested in. It's this personal service that really makes me appreciate doing business here, but I keep coming back for the food. I actually started eating here after going vegan, so I've never had anything other than the veggie options, but so many other people come in ordering omnivorous food (and seem really happy) that I imagine it's pretty good. First, I always get the vegan spring roll. Freshly fried, this appetizer comes out super crispy and hot. With sauce on the side (plus your choice of the Chinese take-out standard packets of soy sauce, duck sauce and hot mustard) this little fried roll is pretty amazing. And hot...did I say hot? Next is the entree, and I've tried all of the standards and a few specials. For those of us ordering veggie meals, we have tofu: steamed and fried; prepared with different sauces. A nice variety of veggies - so fresh tasting, crispy but cooked just right - again with the sauce, and a side of steamed rice. The chef is the owner's wife and he's amazing. You order your food, it's cooked quickly in the wok out back and it's out on your plate - super fast. I've been here so many times before and I've never felt like I've had to wait too long. On the contrary, I'm always like "Oh! My food's ready...wow!" I'm sure there are times when they get really busy and it takes a few minutes to get your order, but my overall feeling is that they are experts and are practiced. My food always comes out hot and perfectly prepared. If you look at the newspaper clippings on the wall, you can see the history of this husband and wife team: they really love preparing food for people. Really, I believe that's what makes the food so great: their long-term dedication to making the best food, with a great variety and fresh ingredients. Plus, there's an element of healthiness here too: they avoid certain types of "bad oils," and use no ingredients with food coloring. It's nice to know that someone else is looking after what goes into the food you eat, especially when you're eating out. Unless someone tells you, do you really know? One notable thing for me: I oftentimes get bored with a particular restaurant's food. I go there one too many times and I get "burnt out." With Sun Tong Luck, there's such a great selection - even for vegans - that I can eat there regularly, which is rare for me. Fortune cookies, chopsticks, beverages, a comfortable and casual environment, plus a genuine smile. What more could you ask for? This is my favorite Asian restaurant in Columbus, hands down.

I've been in columbus for 15 years and this is the best Chinese food I've found in town! The owner is a super nice lady and really goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy with your food. I will definitely be coming back.

  • Jeff C.

The best Chinese food in Ohio, hands down. From the fried rice to their signature sesame chicken, everything is so flavorful and tastes so clean. The breaded chicken is different that most Chinese places and very smooth and crispy. They are very accommodating to your requests for how spicy or how much sauce you'd like. I'm pretty sure the kitchen is run by a husband and wife and their children also help out. They are all super friendly and smiling, urging you to remember your fortune cookies and soy sauce before you hit the road. I actually left my wallet at home one time (we eat here very very often) and the wonderfully friendly woman let me take my food and pay a few days later (when I inevitably returned) which is almost unheard of these days. A couple other recommendations besides the sesame chicken include their fried rice, beef and broccoli, lo mein and their egg rolls. Eat here at least once if you're in the area. It's worth it.

  • Katie S.

This place is hands down the best Chinese in Columbus. It's better than Hunan Lion, Joey Changs, etc! They have the best Sesame and General Tso chicken anywhere! The breading is very thin and crispy. The owner might be the nicest woman I've ever met - she takes pride in her food and is so welcoming and kind to all of her customers. They also do half portions - which are plenty of food if you don't want a full portion. The prices are very good as well. This is my go to Chinese place!

VEGAN REVIEW: This is the best Chinese food you'll find here. No shitty preservatives, no crappy additives, the quality of the food really is apparent. Tastes good, clean, and fresh. Plus, they're basically the nicest people in the world.

Now that I live in Seattle I have experienced quite a few Chinese restaurants across the country. This is bar none the best and most delicious. The owners are friendly and just amazing people. Get to know them to truly experience Sun Tong Luck. They care about you and the food that you put into your body. Best General Tso's in the world! Spicy food lovers should try the Spicy Chicken Loin. I miss you, Helena!

As far as "fast food" goes...this is 5 stars! While you cannot compare it with other asian food in a "fancy" setting, I was really impressed with what I got. As other reviews have said, the lady who works here is very nice. She calls you by name as soon as you give her your card, and also calls you by name as she delivers your food to you, and checks on how everything tastes. Its the little things! It was slightly off-putting that there is a $10 credit card minimum here...which made me order more food. It was fine though because I ordered crab raggoon appetizers which were soooo good! My friends did not meet the $10 min, but nothing was said about it. Not sure what that is about. I got the general tso's chicken...and yes it is good! So in short, very pleased with this fast food place!

I have to join the sentiments of the other reviewers here and just say, Wow! Sun Tong Luck is some of the best Asian food I have had in Columbus. First, Helena (owner) provides such a warm welcome and gets to know your name quickly, it's hard to resist coming back (again and again). Their mission is to provide not only good tasting food, but cooked in a health-conscious way avoiding all saturated fats, MSG, food colorings, for both vegans and meat-eaters. Even though I am not one, the vegetarian options are awesome, never sacrificing taste (and I don't miss the meat), with delicious Tofu. Everything is wonderful, but I particularly enjoy the Shrimp Singapore Noodles, Vegetarian Singapore Noodles, and the Sesame Chicken (all white meat unlike many who prepare this dish). I wish they would rid themselves of the use of styrofoam, and perhaps improve the dining-in space to make that more of a viable option, but not at the expense of driving up their prices. Currently this is a very economical food choice. Parking can be tricky, but fortunately there are some spaces reserved for take-out patrons, and short term (45 minutes) parking in front of the restaurant in this busy shopping area.

I love this place. The owner takes you in and makes you feel like family. She makes all her food without preservatives and is msg free. Best Chinese in town! A must try!

This has to be one of the friendliest and most inviting restaurants I've ever been to. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Helena, who was smiling, happy, and who was obviously glad we were there. Her hospitality was genuine. The food was terrific. We got General Tso's chicken, chicken lo mein, and crab won tons. I know, all basic staples of American-Chinese food, but they do it so well there. And her concern for using quality ingredients, without trans fats is awesome! The only thing I could say is that I wish they used less disposable dishes and cutlery for dine-in customers. Especially the styrofoam cups. Other than that, we were very happy with our experience! She used my name on three occasions too!

Easily the best Chinese food value in the city. Don't let the low prices fool you, this is not your typical takeout food. Fresh ingredients and simple, healthy preparation matched with the kind of service you only get when the person that takes your order is the owner. The Singapore noodles are the best I've ever had.

  • Joel Z.

Why five stars? Awesome service by the nicest women ever. You can always order half sizes and even full size is well priced. The food? Excellent. So good that after moving from Dublin to the south side of the city we routinely travel back just for carry out. You won't find modern creative cuisine but what you will find is solid, well prepared traditional Chinese American.

This is one of those situations where three stars is a good review. Let me explain. . . I enjoy Sun Tong Luck. They have good General Tso's chicken, and the cashier (owner?) is a fantastic lady. It's a great option, and, if you're in the mood for Chinese food, and tasty dim sum, this is a good place to get it. That's why I rate it "3"-- it is, in Yelp's words, "A-OK."

  • Stephanie K.

I was set on giving this place 3 stars, but after thinking long and hard about it, I thought they deserved a 4. The fact that I had never heard much of anything about this place from my friends and most of all my parents, whom I'd expect to be pretty knowledgeable of decent Chinese food places in Columbus, made me hesitant to believe all the great reviews. As far as Americanized Chinese food goes from a takeout place, their food is pretty good. I tried the Sesame Chicken, General Tso's, hot and sour soup, and crab rangoons based on the reviews. The cuts of chicken for both main dishes were of good quality. Looked like all white meat. I didn't bite into any chunks of tendon or nastiness. The breading was light and crispy, which was a nice change to the usual thick jaw aching gnarleyness you sometimes encounter at other takeout places. The sauces for both the Sesame Chicken and General Tso's seemed completely identical. The sesame chicken just had sesame seeds. The hot and sour soup was good, but nothing spectacular. It seemed neither hot or sour. It could have used some more spice and sourness for sure. The crab rangoons were nice and crispy fried without a whole lot of extra oil. The filling was also creamy without making me feel like it was clogging my arteries. I think it was the chef's wife Helena who took my order. She was super nice and I can see why she was mentioned by many reviewers. So yep. I now consider this place a good quick Chinese take out place. I'd like to try the vegetarian dishes with tofu sometime.

Service was great. The lady working the counter was very friendly. Good prices. The food was fresh, but the General Tso's recipe was a little too bland for me.

Helena at Sun Tong Luck serves the best Chinese food I've had in Columbus and quite possibly, ever. All of the ingredients are of exceptional quality and the flavor is hard to beat. Pair this with her excellent customer service and you've got a winning combination. I generally keep it pretty simple with General Tso's chicken or lo mein but everything on the menu looks pretty good. If you're in the area you should be sure to check this place out. I guarantee you'll likely want to come back for seconds. If so, Helena will likely remember you are a repeat customer and greet you with a smile. Seriously, this place is great. A+

I haven't had any luck lately. Here's another place that I wanted to be good because of its perfect location, right by a 'cheapie' movie place. It had good reviews but unfortunately I can't give them one. It's a typical humble Asian establishment and the owner was super friendly, called each patron by name...however the food was not good, bland and uneventful tastes. Sadly, I won't be back! :-(

I want to love this place based on the other reviews and the very enthusiastic owners. However, I felt the quality of the food was a step behind that of Hunan Lion (also on Bethel). On the other hand Sun Tong Luck is quite a bit cheaper. My main issue was that the owners decided to take their phone off the hook for about 45 minutes on a Saturday night (ostensibly because they were busy), making it impossible to call in an order-- forcing me to drive over, order in person and wait for our food. Not a good situation if you have a very hungry and very pregnant wife with chinese food cravings. Kind of an odd business model, but I guess it insures quality for the customers they already have. We'll probably go back, but I'll need to know if they're answering their phones first.

If Sun Tong Luck's food doesn't win you over, their friendly customer service will. I wouldn't even call myself a regular here, but Helena always calls me by name and asks me how I'm doing. If I'm calling in an order on a night that the movie theater is busy, she makes sure to remind me that I can park in the PNC lot. Frankly, I don't think I've ever gotten better customer service from a takeout place. Sun Tong Luck isn't fancy on the inside -- the lighting is unflattering, and the last time I was there, they had put a lonely stick of bamboo in a scratched-up plastic water pitcher and used it for a betta fish habitat -- but this is the only place in Columbus that I can get Americanized Chinese food takeout that doesn't make me feel really sick afterward. I should note that though I'm not vegetarian or vegan, there are some great options for both here. I often order the sesame tofu with extra vegetables thrown in. P.S. I love that there's a bowl of fortune cookies on the counter, but a little sign says not to eat them (hydrogenated oils!). EDIT: OK, I was in here the other day and they now have a legit fish bowl for their betta.

It's so rare to find amazing customer service anymore, and Sun Tong Luck has re-defined it. I go out of my way to get their food and to visit with their fantastic owner. I HIGHLY recommend this spot!

Dine in: lady was very nice..place could use a little cleaning...the smell from the restroom was overwhelming, I did not venture in there I was too scared. I had cashew chicken half size and an egg roll and small Pepsi. Cost $10.59 and was not worth it. Food was mediocre and egg roll was burnt. Will not visit here again

If I were judging this on service alone, I'd give it 5 stars, but the food was sub-par at best. We had the Sesame Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and Cashew nut Chicken and it seemed like all just had the same sauce and it was not very good to begin with. Maybe it was just our choice of items, but I was very optimistic given the high rating on here, but was tremendously disappointed.

I chanced on this restaurant while out running errands today and decided to just give it a try to see what it was like. I loved it - and will definitely be eating there again! The first thing to note is that the dining area is about what you would expect from any inexpensive fast food/takeout place... nothing fancy. Don't judge the place on initial looks though, while it may not have the ambiance of a higher end sit-down restaurant, the food is right up there with the best at reasonable prices. What makes them stand out in my opinion and was responsible for my 5 star rating was the combination of the personable service, the healthy food and the great preparation/taste. Helena makes it a point to learn all her customers names and seems to be a genuinely friendly person who makes you feel right at home. They also make it a point to use no Hydrogenated Oil, Preservatives, High Fructose Corn Syrup or Food Coloring in their foods. Finally, when I told her I liked spicy food and opted to order the General Tso's Chicken and Crab Rangoon, she let me know she would make sure to dial up the heat a bit more for me. It was in my opinion perfectly done - spicy enough to my taste, but also very flavorful. The other flavors were not drowned out by the peppers. The Crab Rangoon was also the best that I have had so far in Columbus - a light and crisp shell, not oily at all, and with a very well balanced filling. I was in heaven! If you find yourself near the intersection of Bethel and Sawmill and want to have some great food, give them a try. You won't regret it.

This place is awesome! I only wish we lived closer so I could have it more often. General Tso's is amazing. The lady who owns it is so nice and personable. I really wish they would open a second location on the east side.

Great crab rangoon, it never fails me! I'm a crab rangoon critic too. My dad has been going there for years and we always get the steam bun, dim sum, soups, crab rangoon, etc.

I've tried a couple of other dishes here, but the star of the show is the General Tso's which is on a whole other level than what you'll find at your typical Chinese restaurant. The sauce, which is darker and richer than any other I've had, is only added at the last minute to ensure the breading on the chicken (it's actually recognizable as chicken) stays nice and crunchy. Also worth mentioning again is the friendly service and fact that they make a point of not using partially hydrogenated oil which they even advertise.

My first venture to this restaurant was just yesterday and I'm thoroughly impressed. My wife and I are vegetarian and vegan, so when I heard that this placed catered to vegan and non-vegans alike, I decided I had to go. For me, I was completely blown away by the lady behind the counter. I assume she's the owner. She was extraordinarily nice and really interacted with us. Most restaurant employees I run into are usually kind of in robot-mode and go about doing their job with little interest and with even less personality. The lady had plenty of suggestions for us, was extremely articulate, and had just a wonderful demeanor. Personally, I've never run into an owner who had such a wonderful personality. Anyways, you're probably thinking, "That's great and all, but what about the food?" The food was excellent! Upon ordering, the owner said that all of their sauces are prepared vegan-style, that way, anything on the menu can be adapted to be vegan. I never really thought about it, but she said that many restaurants may have sauces that have been prepared with certain meat juices and then sold as vegan...because there is no meat, per-se, in the dish. I also liked how we had the choice of steamed or fried tofu. So while I can't comment about the meats served with the dishes, I can say that the two dishes that we tried - General Tso's Tofu and Mapo Tofu - were excellent. The General Tso's was sweet and spicy without being too spicy or sweet; it was just right. The Mapo tofu was a steamed tofu (so it should be a bit healthier) and the sauce was mild and tasty. We also ordered some extra veggies to go along with the dish. I'm used to going to restaurants and having an extremely limited selection of foods to choose from. It's very refreshing to know that Sun Tong Luck can prepare dozens of dishes without meat! Downsides: parking is kind of weird in this strip mall. I had to park quite a distance to get to the restaurant, but as I was leaving, I believe that there is customer-only parking that I overlooked. The interior is also plain and typical of a carry-out, but that's not something that I mind. If you were planning a really sit-down dinner, you probably would want some place with slightly nicer ambiance. Overall, I'm a big fan! This place has super-nice employees and super-great food with a ton of vegan options.

Great customer service! Try the General Tso's Chicken -- the owner recommended it the first time I came in and for good reason -- it's delicious! I hate chinese restaurants that overly bread their chicken into globby dough balls of fried not-so-goodness.... This restaurant is not like that. Their breading is very, very light. They also do not use MSG which the owner proudly touts. It's not a fancy place, so don't expect to be charmed by the decor. The food, and the owner's care for her food and her customers, is what makes this place memorable and worth returning to.

This is the best Americanized Chinese I've ever had. The owner is the nicest lady I've ever met and remembers everyone's name. Their general Tso's, Orange, and sweet and sour chicken are by far the best I've ever had! They deep fry the chicken and put the sauce on after so it doesn't get soggy like most restaurants. She uses fresh white meat chicken with a very thin layer of breading unlike most restaurants where there is no chicken. The only negative comment I have is that the rice isn't great.

As seems to be the trend with my wife and I when we go out to try a new place for lunch each week that we're off together; We found ourselves in the Carrige Place vicinity pushing the late lunch early dinner time frame by the time we got done with our chores/errands (we both work predominantly second shift hours any way so we're used to eating later than most). It was between Bollywood Bistro and Sun Tong Luck and we weren't really feeling indian food. So we gave Sun Tong Luck a whirl. I have to admit I rolled my eyes a little after looking at the menu posted on the door that was complete with questionable use of english (kinda like my reviews) and a typed up paper sign below it claiming their General Tso's and Sesame Chicken were the best in the city. We almost turned around and walked down to Bollywood Bistro. I am very glad we didn't. When you go inside it looks just like any one of hundreds of other chinese take out places in Columbus. It's got a small dining area with a mix match of different style tables laid out in front of a counter that leads directly back into a small kitchen. Above the counter is the typical menu board with pictures of popular items printed out on computer paper. It's no Hunan Lion when it comes to dining room ambience. When it comes to the food it's more. What sets this place apart is what's going on in that small kitchen behind the counter. The food is excellently prepared and very fresh. As the owner enthusiastically put it when I went back to the counter to compliment her on how great my meal was: "We take no shortcuts!" If that doesn't seem like a big deal to you then you're probably one of the people who assume (wrongly) that most places you eat (except for fast food) are preparing most things from scratch. They aren't. The chef as well as ownership of this place are not only very friendly, but they also clearly have a passion for what they are doing that shows in their food. Even though I didn't really take it seriously at first I was still pretty much taunted into ordering the General Tso's by the sign on the door. The sign is not false advertising. It is the best in the city that this Chef has had. The chicken is hand cut and battered chicken, not the processed pre-battered chunks most places use. It fries up to a nice and thin but crispy shell on the tender pieces of chicken. Given the thin nature of the batter I'm not sure how well it would hold up if taken for take out, but it'd still probably be better than most. The sauce was delicious as well, not as spicy as I'd like, but thats an easy fix. It didn't taste like the corn-syrupy pre-made brown sauce based sauces that many places use. This (and the last review I did for Taste of Bali) are a reminder to heed the old saying; "don't judge a book by it's cover". A restaurant may look like a cookie cutter strip mall joint, and if it does, it probably is, but it never hurts to try it out anyway. You never know when you're missing out on a gem of a place like this one.

Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants I came across during the 9 years I lived in Columbus. Dishes such as orange chicken and general tso's chicken tend to be too greasy sometimes, but Sun Tong Luck uses a very thin batter, which is amazing. The meat they use is always very tender (even during recession times when restaurants substitute for lower quality cuts of meat). As everyone claims, service is excellent. Helena, the owner is a very sweet lady. Prices are reasonable, maybe a little bit higher than other Chinese restaurants...but, you definitely get what you pay for.

Sun Tong Luck is my favorite restaurant on the NW side of Columbus. The food and the owners are enough to bring anyone back. Sure when you walk in it looks like most Chinese carryout joints, but the food stands far above your average takeout place. It's made from scratch by an actual Chef, not rehydrated or fried from frozen or mixed together "semi-home made" style. You can taste this in their dishes. They have a TON of vegan selections, most everything can be made vegan so just ask! The owners are amazing too. Just go there a couple times and Helena will know your name and what you usually order. She will often throw suggestions my way to try and they are always delicious, though I always come back for the spicy garlic tofu. This place is a treasure Columbus! If you haven't been here, come check it out! You will be super happy!

BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER!!! Honestly, Helena at Sun Tong Luck serves the best Chinese food I have ever tasted. The ingredients are high quality and always fresh! The flavors are amazing every time I visit! My husband and I crave her carefully created dishes - and sometimes even wake up thinking about eating Sun Tong Luck. Helena's is so warm and inviting, you can't help but smile the entire time you are there! I would HIGHLY recommend Sun Tong Luck to anyone wanting excellent Chinese food!

Wow! I think I just ate the best Chinese take-out I've ever had. I don't know if I'd call this place a restaurant necessarily, more like a take-out place where you can also eat-in. The cashier/proprietor was SO freaking sweet and nice. I ordered a half order of sesame chicken and an order of crab rangoon. The sesame chicken I picked because it said "best in city" under it in the menu. It was the best sesame chicken I've ever had, although, I don't think I've ever ordered sesame chicken before. It was lightly battered really crispy chicken breast pieces, and it wasn't the usual tempura-ish batter I usually see at Chinese places. Then the pieces of chicken were sprinkled with sesame seeds when they were still hot out of the batter, and then covered with a very thick, earthy, dark, and pleasantly sweet sauce. I opted for steamed rice with that. The crab rangoon came 4 to an order, and they were big triangles of wonton wrapper with the usual filling. They were nicely browned, crispy, and not real greasy, despite being deep fried. ~$10 total. I also got to taste the best hot n sour soup (each serving made to order) I've ever had, and the crispy chicken loin was freaking amazing. The crispy chicken loin doesn't come with a sauce, so if she asks you "fried or steamed rice?" I'd probably go with the fried next time so the rice wasn't so plain. Highly recommend this place for Chinese take-out.

Friendly staff. Great tofu- perfectly done. Prices are pretty good. Cheap for small dishes- full meal around $10 plus drinks. Would like the veggies to be cut thicker and not cooked to mush. Not much color in the dishes. Eat in is hot and tables are sticky. It's OK, but not my fave. Would go again if in the area, but wouldn't make a special trip.

Hadn't been for a while. Tried the Hawaiin Chicken tonight alongside some crab rangoons and hot and sour soup. I've been worried about a lot of things going on in life lately and this meal made me feel so much better. As always they are such friendly and inviting people. I know they use only quality healthy ingredients, but I also found out tonight that they don't use any coloring in their food per Helena the owner. Hence why none of their sauces take on that neon red color, as she explained to me the Hawaiian chicken is usually red for that reason. It was simply so good. And as usual I did not have that sickly feeling after eating like I get from most Chinese places, including the king of them all PF Changs. The meat was fresh, all white and everything here just tastes pure and fresh. Truly amazing food :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. This is my FAVORITE place to eat. So good that I travel 20 minutes from German Village to get their food. It is owned and ran by the nicest woman you will ever meet, Helena. Her and her husband do an incredible job with all of their food. I usually get the crispy spicy chicken loin. OH MY GOODNESS, it is soooo good! Their General Tsos is the best in town. Do not judge this place by it's cover. While it doesn't look that incredible on the outside, and the seating area is a bit small. The food is beyond amazing. I highly recommend this place for those that are wanting an amazing Chinese food experience. :)

The place is very unassuming, counter service and take out. The owner was fantastic and great about vegan/vegetarian/healthy options. I got the Garlic Tofu with the tofu steamed not fried and added vegetables- a 1/2 order, which was ginormous. I also ordered the sesame noodles appetizer, which was also large. The food was tasty, really nice. The hubby got General Tso's Chicken, which he said was good but a bit spicy for his palate (he's a lightweight that way). If we lived on the NW side we'd probably make this our go to takeout place. So far probably the best Chinese I've found in Columbus (although nothing really comes close to the stuff I grew up on in NY).

This place is awesome! It is cooked without MSG or hydrogenated oils. The food is fresh and they will make it to order. If you want extra veggies, then you get extra veggies. If you want more meet, they you get more meat. The food is not authentic Chinese. It is American Chinese, but it is the best American Chinese you will ever eat. It is totally fresh. The owners are super nice and they will provide the best customer service!

While I do not think that Chinese Restaurants (especially the hole in the wall ones) are fine dining establishments, I have to say that Sun Tong Luck does a very good job for what it is. This restaurant stands out from other strip mall chinese restaurants in that it is well run by very friendly owners and the food tastes a little more authentic than most. The cashier is definitely one of the most friendly in the business. She knows everyone's name and seeks to give you very personalized service. The entrees are competently done and are priced affordable. Yesterday, I had the Singapore noodles. Although the chicken may not have been the highest quality, I found the noodles to be very well seasoned and flavorful. Always a treat is the house made hot and sour soup (it has a very pleasant organic taste) and the egg roll. No this is not the Ritz of restaurants. But if you want a quick affordable meal in Carriage Place and your taste-buds are feeling a bit more exotic, I think this would be a great choice!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Sun Tong Luck! I live right near the restaurant, but used to frequent Hunan Lion down the street. While getting a manicure, someone recommended to try Sun Tong Luck, which doesn't look as appealing from the outside. Boy am I glad I tried it!!! This place blows Hunan Lion out of the water and is less than half the price. They have great egg roles, sesame chicken, and egg flower soup! I eat here at least once a week - you can't go wrong with the prices!

Terribly disappointed. Drove across Columbus thanks to the gaudy Yelp rating for this and it just isn't good. The General Tso's chicken was not wok cooked; they separately cooked the battered chicken and poured sauce over it. Flavours weren't great, either. Yes, it didn't have the greasy feel of some low-end Chinese food, but that is small comfort. If you're a foodie, avoid.

I am so torn... wish I could give Sun Tong Luck at least four stars, but based on my three visits, I honestly can't... First and foremost, I love the owner lady, she calls me honey when I walk in or call in to place an order and she does so in an endearing way - LOVE her! Quality of ingredients is outstanding... probably the best quality I have ever encountered at a chinese place in Cbus! Plus food feels healthy when you eat them! Not quite as sticky or greasy and they add plenty of veggies, mostly steamed or flash fried to maintain crunchness and natural flavors. So what's my problem? Taste... :( Don't get me wrong, food tastes all right but for the most part, what I have tasted so far have been on a blender side and nothing to write home about. I have tried chicken lo-mein, sesame chicken, honey cashew chicken and tasted my friend's spicy garlic beef - all ok, but no standouts... if I had to choose one, I'd pick sesame chicken as the one to try here as the light batter coating and thick brown sauce are quite unique. Cost ($9-11/dish) of their dishes are comparable to General Tso's with General Tso's being a little more of a typical greasy chinese takeout place if that makes sense... Sun Tong Luck has better crab rangoons though. In sum, I think that I will be frequenting Sun Tong Luck during summer when the weather's hot and I don't want heavy and greasy chinese or when I'm trying to lose weight but have a life-threatening chinese craving. During winter months, I will probably stick with the greasy chinese takeout from General Tso's. Good to have options!

This is another of my lunch favorites. You can get a lunch sized portion of fresh made Chinese food and rice for about 5 bucks. The lady that runs the place is a friendly and helpful person. She can explain every dish in great detail and she takes obvious pride in making it as fresh and healthy as possible. My personal favorite was the sweet and sour chicken. Not neon red like some place's and not super sweet. The chicken is fried, but not too greasy, and she claims to use heart friendly oils. They have a wide variety of Dim Sum, something I haven't seen at most C-bus places. This is also a vegetarian friendly place. We even took the vegan from the office here once a week.

Good value, quick, and very good food. Despite a modest store front located in a strip mall, this restaurant is a good choice for take out (think dinner during halftime). There are a few tables and the people eating there seemed to be enjoying themselves, but this is not a "destination" dining location, just a solid place to get good Chinese food in the Dublin/northwest Columbus area. I will definitely be getting food there again..

The lady that runs the place might be the sweetest lady on the planet but that still doesn''t get around the plastic dishware, CHEAP plastic utensils, bags of mustard, etc. And the restaurant itself is nothing to look at. Tiny tables, place your order at the counter. Enough! I didn't come for fast food. I wanted a nice meal in a sit down restaurant. I ordered spicy wontons to start. They were very overcooked although they tasted okay. It'd be hard to make a spicy wonton that I wouldn't eat. Then I got an order of sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was pretty decent, but no green peppers, and the pineapple was tiny chunks like you'd get in a kid's meal. Suffice it to say, I was not impressed.

The woman behind the counter here had such an infectiously cheerful attitude that I was instantly glad I came in. She gave a huge hello with a great big smile that never faded throughout my order. She brightened up the restaurant. The place is clean but plain, probably not really designed to emit ambiance (the only personality in the restaurant is human). It was fine for waiting for takeout, especially given how quickly the food came out, but eating in wouldn't be my first choice here. So... spicy garlic tofu. Steamed rice. Vegan spring roll. All were nice but not necessarily memorable. The spicy garlic tofu wasn't very spicy and was a bit more on the sweet side than I either expected or really wanted. The spring roll was very good! The prices for the quantities were very reasonable. And there are enough other vegetarian options to keep me coming back to try the others.

man, this place really has had some great reviews so I had to check it out. Firstly, the customer service is great. As mentioned in prior posts, the lady has a great memory and excellent customer service skills. Five stars on that. The food was only 3 stars because it really was not as tasty as I was expecting especially at a restuarant with nearly all 4/5 stars. The egg drop soup didn't taste like normal egg drop soup, it had a hint of sesame oil (which is strange) and tasted a bit more oily than what i'm used to. it seems a little bland as well. I always get house fried rice whenever I go to Chinese restaurants and the half portion was definitely generous in volume, but only had 2 shrimp (to be fair, the shrimp were a good size, not the micro shrimp you typically see). There weren't that many veggies either (a stray pea here, some carrots there). It also tasted a bit bland or not that flavorful? Maybe it needed more soy sauce or salt & pepper. General Tso Chicken, which everyone expects to be a thinly breaded chicken deep fried with yummy spicy/sweet sauce came out more like sweet and sour chicken (i.e. lightly colored batter that is voluminous surrounding chicken). The sauce also seemed a bit off... maybe the got the order mixed up? Definitely didn't taste like typical General Tso, but also was not sweet and sour chicken. To note, the place was pretty humid last night and seating a bit awkward. In addition, eat in gets styrofoam plates and you still use plastic utensils, so I recommend take out. Overall, I really like the customer service and it appears that they make everything when you order, so I'll be giving them another shot in the near future.

Helena, I LOVE YOU! This place is the best of so many worlds for me. As a vegan, a regular challenge is finding places with food that I find delicious AND that my less-health-conscious friends will still be willing to try. With amazing vegan options that I regularly crave (Spicy Garlic Tofu with extra veggies, I'm looking at you!) and a variety of other tantalizing takes on chinese-takeout fare, and MORE, how can you say no?! I first ate here before I was vegan, and let me tell you, eat one of your go-to meals here and you'll have trouble eating it anywhere else. After my first try, I never looked at crab rangoon and sweet and sour sauce the same way ever again. Keep in mind though, you really can't go in here expecting the same exact taste as when you order american chinese food at a typical takeout place. Since they use different (and better) ingredients, the flavor profiles are not exactly the same - but I like Sun Tong Luck's versions so much more, plus I feel GOOD after i eat it. My stomach is happy, I have energy... I had never before felt HEALTHY after chowing down on chinese takeout. They never charge to add extra veggies to your dish, and offer full and half size portions all day long - which means that at dinner time i can still get a smaller portion, and also protect my wallet, if i don't really need a giant meal. And the half portions are still plenty filling! Your name will be memorized after your first visit in, including all of your dietary needs, and not soon after your order will be memorized as well. This is absolutely a must-eat, so if you haven't been there yet - get to it. Well, now I'm ridiculously hungry for spicy garlic tofu and they're closed on Mondays... why is my life so hard?? I'll see you all there tomorrow!

Could you ever imagine being treated like family at a Chinese restaurant? I couldn't, ever...until I tried Sun Tong Luck. The manager and her daughter treated my partner and I with genuine, unpretentious friendliness, and we immediately felt at home. They took the time to answer our questions, responding patiently no matter how busy they seemed to be. My experiences at Chinese restaurants have so often been the opposite that I come to expect rudeness (at best) and downright cruelty (at worst, and this has happened more than once). Not so here. Their casual kindness, their easy familiarity...I felt like family, and I think that's the highest compliment I could ever give a restaurant of any kind. The menu, I think, was built around vegans. When you ask for a vegetarian option, they're careful to point out that a given item is 100% vegan. How often do you find that outside of Whole Foods? And I always assumed vegan meant bland. I couldn't have been more wrong. The vegan Singapore Noodles is incredible, slightly spicy, curry-laden deliciousness. The locale isn't anything fancy, and the food is just plain awesome. And if you're a vegan or vegetarian, this is one hassle-free place you can go where you can always rest assured someone's looking out for your diet.

As the previous reviewers have noted, Helena (the owner) is who makes this place special. She makes every customer -- newbies and long-timers alike -- feel like they are old friends being welcomed into her home. And not only has she remembered my name from the time of my very first visit, she remembers the types of things I like to order. So if I am hesitating, trying to decide if I want to to be adventurous and try something new, she will suggest something that she thinks I will like. She has never steered me wrong. The food is always fresh and well-prepared, butI can't say it is the tastiest Asian or Chinese food in Central Ohio. That may be because she does not use MSG, and tries to minimize the grease and extra sauce. I do go away feeling that I have done a good job of choosing a reasonably healthy meal. Prices are reasonable, and turnaround time for orders is short. If you want a quick and healthy meal with a homey feel, Sun Tong Luck is the place to go!

Recently tried this place again, after not coming here for a long time. It's close to home, yet something was missing when I'd previously eaten here. And now I know what it was: heat. This is where spicy goes to die. I can appreciate the light, relatively healthy treatment and portions that STL offers but if I *ask* for spicy, and it doesn't happen, I can't fully recommend. I will at least give 3 stars for the assertive (Read: tart) hot and sour soup, which is 'made fresh to order', according to the lady at the front. If only my entree had the same bold flavor.

Service was great, but that's about it. I'm not sure why this place is rated so great. I ordered the general tso's chicken and it was drenched in heavy molasses. My dad ordered beef lo mein and it tasted vaguely of being flavored with some light soy sauce. The noodles and beef were also cold. However, when we brought it to the chef's attention, he immediately reheated it for him. So, that was nice. My brother ordered the shrimp and vegetables which was probably the best dish out of the 3 of us. It still left something to be desired. I give this place 2 stars purely because the lady at the front was pleasant and the chef reheated my dad's dish.

How did I not know this place existed before now? I just had a generous half portion of General Tso's that was sweet, spicy and savory. The chicken was high quality and tasted excellent. My spouse had Cashew Chicken and it had a great mix of vegetables, chicken and cashews. Both sauces were excellent!! This will be my new chinese place even though there are several other that are closer.

Ordered sesame tofu & a vegetable spring roll. Sesame tofu was really good but the spring roll was AMAZIN. Bonus: I didn't feel like crap after I ate a mountain of this which was new for me when eating Chinese :) Helena was super nice too! Definitely will go back!

There are many reasons you would choose Sun Tong Luck Asian Cuisine. 1) Helena. She's the kind woman who greets you with a warm smile when you enter her restaurant. She's always eager to meet you, hear about your week, and will remember your name after the first time you've been in. 2) Health. Helena is basically a nutritionalist who happens to cook incredible chinese food. Depending on your chronic illness or daunting symptoms, she'll put together a meal that's catered to your needs. Celiac disease? Hypoglycemia? Gluten-intolerance? Helena's got a remedy for you, and it'll only cost you the price of dinner. 3) Energy. Feeling stressed and need more than a fortune cookie to cheer you up? The Sun Tong Luck Asian Cuisine staff has a "peace" about them that's sure to chill you out. You may not know, but Sun Tong Luck spends more money to purchase quality chickens that have been blessed and thanked for their lives before they are poultrified. They do this for their customers, so that people do not consume negative energy when eating at their restaurant. In addition, meditative music is often playing. When you dine-in, you'll find yourself naturally putting away your iPhone and just enjoying the meal. This calm and positive atmosphere is a far cry from most American dining experiences today. 4) Cuisine. Don't fail to notice "Cuisine" in the Sun Tong Luck name. The chef of Sun Tong Luck has been working in restaurants since he was 14 years old. Him and his wife, Helena, often showcase their cooking at Whole Foods and other local events. You'll notice the taste and quality of food is superb in comparison to other chinese places. 5) Value. Expect to pay more for high quality, authentic Chinese food? I did too. Somehow, the price comparison is very balanced in comparison to other local asian restaurants. They take pride in their valuable customer experience, and cook because they love. As a salute to the restaurant and staff, I've made it a goal to eat at least once every day at Sun Tong Luck Asian Cuisine for the next month. Perhaps I'll see you there!

I think I've found my new Chinese joint. We came here today for dinner and it was SO GOOD. We had very simple dishes, General Tso's, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Crab Rangoon. Everything was perfect--the meat was white and there were no slimy fatty pieces. The sauces were better than other locations and the Crab Rangoon was super good. Though, they could have had a little more filling, it was mostly just an air pocket. I did though enjoy their sweet & sour sauce a lot. It didn't seem like it was from a Restaurant Depot container. Move over Happy Dragon, this is my new cheap Chinese go-to place!

  • Mirabelle L.

It was typical Americanized Chinese food. It tasted decent but definitely not within the top fews of my list. We ordered sesame chicken, general tso chicken, and spicy garlic beef. A bit overpriced for its offering. Honestly wasn't so sure why people raved about this place so much...

Only Chinese spot I go to in town! I come at least once a week! Tons of vegan options. Helena the owner is super awesome too and remembers us every time we come in! Best vegan Chinese food I've ever tasted

Man... what is it with me and driving by these Chinese places and going.... "Meh.. maybe next time." I'm so glad I finally made the decision to stop here the other evening.

  • Berenice Y.

  • Mark T.

Easily the best Chinese food value in the city. Don't let the low prices fool you, this is not your typical takeout food. Fresh ingredients and simple, healthy preparation matched with the kind of service you only get when the person that takes your order is the owner. The Singapore noodles are the best I've ever had.

The food and service is always great. My favorite is the chicken lo mein and dim sum. Tried several menu options and everything has always tasted very fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend!

1st time at sun tong and liked it.....sauce for the sweet and sour different but very good and the fried rice was tasty and plentiful. Would go back again.

I have never had a bad meal here. Come to think of it, I've never had a mediocre meal here either. Everything is amazing!!! Of the highest quality in ingredients and service!! If you want well cooked and simply delicious Chinese food, this is where you want to go!!!

best chinese food ever!!! love all the tofu options. husband said her general tso's is the best he's ever had. great food and good prices! worth the drive!!!

    (4)
  • Jennifer T.

The owners are VERY nice and the food is great. They are vegan/vegetarian/diet/health friendly and it shows. This is great comfort food as well as a way to branch out and try new things.

This place is a vegan haven!! Also, no hydrogenated oils used. Very nice portions, very very friendly and helpful owner (who WILL remember your name), and super tasty food.

We even took the vegan from the office here once a week.

best general tso's chicken i've ever tasted. customer service was great. she asked if i liked spicy foods and i said extra spicy, so she had the cook make it very spicy for me. They just gained themselves a new customer.

this is a hole in the wall with absolutely no atmosphere. the prices are acceptable and the portions are ok. the brown sauce is amazing. the owner operator is very charming. its worth the visit as the food is pretty good. great place to hit before going to the dollar theatre or the half-price book store.

  • Lea P.

I've been in columbus for 15 years and this is the best Chinese food I've found in town! The owner is a super nice lady and really goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy with your food. I will definitely be coming back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
