Roosters is my favorite place for bone-in wings in Columbus. The fact that Roosters is a chain restaurant is also pretty awesome. They have the biggest drum wings i've ever seen. Size matters and so does taste, Roosters' wings have both. The best things about Roosters is their Monday half-off wings deal. This applies to both their bone-in and boneless wings. It comes out to slightly under 60 cents per wing with tax. I would definitely recommend the bone-in wings, as they are more flavorful and moist. My go-to flavors are the Carolina Gold (sweet BBQ) and Donkey (hot). Their Garlic wings are also decent. Roosters has a pretty average selection of draft beer, so there's really nothing to write home about. This Olentangy Road location is closest to me. The service is decent and the waitstaff is usually pretty easy on the eyes. This particular location also has a number of TVs, making it a good place to check out the game. Until I find better wings elsewhere, Roosters is my go-to place in Columbus.

A great place to get wings, a beer and watch a game - but this place is a notch (or two) above most sports grilles. Their regular and boneless wings are affordable, crispy and high quality. I prefer a little more sauce, but I usually order a side for $.50. I appreciate that celery and bleu cheese or ranch are included with your wings, as most places ask if you want any, then charge you. The appetizers are a steal, and the pizzas are surprisingly good - crispy and thin; not overdone on the marinara, so they avoid becoming soggy. Two people could enjoy dinner for under $25 (tax and tip included) very easily. I've had a few issues with service, or unclean water, but mostly this restaurant hits the mark every time. They also do carryout, but watch your sauces in the car! Overall, a great place to enjoy a casual meal, for a reasonable price, and reliable and high quality food.

I'm impressed. Came here to watch the NBA finals when working in Columbus. The place was packed on the Tuesday night. I found a set at the bar and had a big beer. It says it's famous for wings, so I ordered 5 of the second hottest ("killer" sauce). I received 2 drumsticks and 3 thighs and they surprisingly big. The sauce was thick which was great considering the wings were drenched in it. The hot sauce burned soooo good. They were not obnoxiously hot, and my mouth was on fire a bit for a few minutes after I devoured them, which I caused me to order another big beer. I then Ordered a steak sandwich (not a Philly cheese steak). It was simple, a piece of steak on a bun with lettuce, tomato, and mushrooms (that was extra $0.49) and it did not come with fries or cheese. It was juicy and tender. I recommend trying it. Overall the prices were modest and I think I'll have to come again this week.

Dethroned as Best Wings Miller's Ale House of Columbus has In my humble opinion dethroned Roosters as my personal favorite wing spot. I still love the carolina gold wings as well as the garlic wings. The cheese curly fries still tickle my taste buds. however hey can no longer claim my top wing spot since tasting Miller's Lemon Pepper wings. Still one of my go-to places in town for food and that will never change.
(5)Scott B.
This particular location has pretty limited draft selection. Mostly pilsner style macro-brews. The wings were very good. I was there with a large group (Columbus vBeers) so it was more like a buffet then selecting a menu item. But I get the typically day after issues with digesting. My tummy is upset....
(3)John S.
By far, the best place for chicken wings in the Central Ohio area. *As noted earlier in multiple posts; this is NOT a restaurant to bring children to. This is a great sports bar. Period.

I love Roosters. They are the best place to get wings in Columbus, in my personal opinion. When I moved out of state I couldn't find any wings or blue cheese dressing quite as good. I usually go to the one on 161, but my GPS said they were the same distance so I decided to try this location. First, when I walked in on a Saturday night, it was understandably busy. I had called ahead and waited my turn in line. The hostess never acknowledged me, she just looked at me with a blank stare. Then, after she rang me up she just walked away. So I ask her if I still had to wait or if my order was ready. She just replied "oh" and said "it's right here" gesturing next to her. Not once did she bother to hand me the bag or anything. Talk about rude! I ordered my wings with mixture of Carolina gold and chipotle sauce on the side as I was sharing and the other people don't like sauces. The chicken looked a little different than what I'm used to seeing. Like it was more heavily breaded. The chicken tasted good, but I wasn't on a wing high like I normally am. At this location, I would rate the chicken 4 stars and the service 1 star.

3.5 Stars. This is your classic american wing joint, but better. I have been to probably 4-5 different locations, but this one is the one I've been to the most...so it gets my review. First let me say the extra half star is for the prices...the prices here are phenomenal. You are hard pressed to find something over $7 on the entire menu. The wings are pretty good, not amazing. Carolina gold is popular and tasty. The cool thing here is you can mix sauces as much as you want so you can truly customize your wing eating experience. But i really like the garlic sauce...and I don't usually go for the wings either. The chicken fingers (fried or grilled - but i get fried of course) with the garlic sauce is a go-to order for me. The amount of chicken you get is ridiculous. It sounds weird but I like the salads here...the red rooster dressing is really tasty. Also, just the basic burger isn't bad, especially for like $2.50 or whatever they charge for it. Solid subs, above average pizza, and decent apps round out the menu. The reason I don't frequent this place (or other roosters locations) more is because of the beer selection. Its pretty bad. This is your bud/miller/coors place and occasionally they will have a singe craft beer. I like my good beer...so lunch here for me is a good option, but when I want a beer I go somewhere else.
(3)Karen L.
Deep fried pickles are the best. great wings at a good price. Come here every year during the Equine Affair.
(5)Alexis B.
Roosters Is a great place to hang out, watch a game, and eat some food. No matter where you sit, you will have a view of a tv. There is a nice selection of beer and the wings are pretty good. I like that the tables are big and comfortable!
(4)Ryan K.
I've been living in Columbus for almost nine years, and somehow I'd never been to Rooosters until last night. Wow, it appears I've been missing out. This is a great sports bar/wings joint. Also, there are many spread around the city. The wings really stood out to me. My wife and I ordered 20 with the garlic wings sauce. The wings were huge! Much better than your average bar fare. We also ordered "dumpster fries," which have tons of stuff dumped on top. The highlight here is that you can do wedges or curly fries. Curly fries! Perfect. The ambiance is pretty typical of a sports bar. Tons of TVs, huge bar area, large booths, etc. There were two playoff games on, and I found it to be really loud - I was right under a speaker. That's the only drawback of my night. Good price, friendly service, and solid quality food. P.S. If you're thinking of bringing the kids...I'd look elsewhere. They do have a kid's menu, but the noise level might be too high for them.
(4)Philip L.
Pretty good local student joint to get some boneless wings and watch a game. Teriyaki sauce was surprisingly good. Very affordable place to get fresh chicken too
(4)Raffi V.
Great price point to food quantity/quality. You can't go wrong for a spot to catch a few drinks and watch the game
(4)Kevin S.
In town for work so we stopped in for lunch. We had nachos and mild wings and we were not impressed. Not sure if it was the sauce or the wings but they were not enjoyable. The nachos were ok but not much to them. Best thing about the place was the tvs and waitresses.
(2)Erin R.
Thursday night I really wanted wings, and the closest BW3s (or B2Ws if you will) is campus - on a thursday night WITH a browns game, that means game over. Instead, we decided to try Roosters since its close to my house and also has wings. The restaurant itself is a great atmosphere to watch a game - crowded but not too loud, plenty of TVs to see, and plenty of fans - and the beers were big and cold. Can't complain about that. I was a little disappointed that the wing flavor selection wasn't massive - teriyaki, bbq, garlic, and hot, hotter and hottest basically - but the wings themselves were large and overall tasty. We had bbq and garlic - the bbq had plenty of sauce, and it was a good one. The garlic were overall dry, but not bad. We also had salads - I had the greek and my boyfriend had the caesar - no complaints really, it's the kind of salad i'd expect from a sports bar. Sometimes a girl just needs her vegetables before eating deep fried wing after deep fried wing. A good place to hang out and watch the game, eat some wings and drink some giant beers.

Came in at 7pm on a Friday, was told it would be a thirty minute wait, it was only 20. I like that they have ample seating for waiting. We got our seats, and prompt service even though they were obviously busy. I ordered a side caeser salad, which oddly doesn't come with dressing apparently. Whatever, it was a good price, good size, and probably more healthy. I also ordered mild boneless wings, and apparently I should have asked for extra sauce because I found them dry and lacking in sauce. The flavor was good, I just wanted more sauce. We probably waited 15 minutes for our checks while the place started to clear out. Not sure why the service went down as the place cleared out, but it did. I had time to listen to the music which I found to be very girly. I liked the music, but for a wings place it seemed very odd. I would go here again, the prices seem pretty fair, and the service was good enough.
(3)Jessica L.
We went here after a Blue Jackets game because shockingly everywhere else we tried to go to was already closed. It was busy inside and we were taken care of as soon as we were seated, but other than that, service was nothing to write home about. I ordered a burger, which was dry sadly, and fries were unsalted and but overall lacking. The wings were decent but not decent enough to turn this into a 5 star establishment.
(2)Stephen P.
When I feel like giving in and binging a little bit, I almost always head to Rooster's. The price is right and the food is great- probably my favorite wings in town! The atmosphere is fun and great for hanging out with a few beers and some food. One thing I find irritating is when you order take-out, your food sits at the counter without any lamps to keep it warm. If you aren't super prompt, it may not be that warm, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. Beats BW3 any day of the week!
(4)Christine D.
My chipotle boneless wings were great, service was attentive and nice, our booth was clean, but MAN, the music and tv sucked. Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles Women's Basketball Gave me a weird vibe.
(4)Mindy W.
This is the worst Rooster's to which I have ever been. I don't like reviewing chain restaurants, especially a place like Rooster's, but this had to be done. I've been here a dozen times, and every time I leave I wonder why I went there. It's worth driving 15 minutes farther to avoid the terrible, terrible service at this Rooster's. It is comically bad. The food is fine--typical Roosters food which is hard to screw up, but I do not plan on coming here unless it is for a take-out order. As a side note, I don't like hearing the same six songs played four times each during my stay at a restaurant. Especially when one of those songs happens to be by Chris Brown. No thanks, Roosters! This locations needs to get its shiz together!
(1)Liz G.
I love there wings and drinks i had fun with family and friends would come again!
(5)Rob W.
Service was good, chicken parm sandwich was good, seemed like a good price but didn't come with fries or anything
(3)T B.
There was a time when Rooster's was decent place to eat wings and watch a game. It has slipped in recent years. The cost is border line when you consider they charge for everything. A sandwich doesn't even come with chips. Want some ranch CHARGE, side of bbq CHARGE, a few extra chips to finish the chicken nachos CHARGE. Any place that charges for condiments should probably be avoided. The wings don't taste as fresh either. The last batch was a little chewy. And the puddle of grease nauseates me. Who decides on the draft beer selection the macro brewers association. Boring! On the plus side patios are popping up at some locations. Is that a sign things might be turning around?
(2)Mischa E.
I'm giving Rooster 5 stars for one reason, they seem to be the only chain left with decent sized wings. Good food, reasonable prices.
(5)Christopher G.
I normally dont like breaded wings, but these are done nicely. Large lightly breaded wings, with a great unique taste. Im not sure I care for them leaving the tips on...its just extra work tearing them off, but other than that, great wings! Pizza and burgers are good too. What I dont like is the "Hooters" vibe from the servers. The girls dress in sexy low cut shirts and short shorts to show off leg. The place always has a bunch of TVs throughout, which are normally on sports or news channels. It also hosts a full service bar, however, the place does get pretty noisy. Id go back for the wings.
(4)Ashley P.
I've been back to Rooster's twice since my initial review (as previously mentioned, it was not at my suggestion) and I must say, I have been very pleased with the service and food. I'm going to chalk my initial negative experience up to the large crowd that night. I guess I'll just steer clear of Rooster's when they're busy. P.S. I highly recommend the Carolina Gold sauce.
(4)Joe C.
I suppose one has the right to ask "Why are you reviewing Rooster's? Its kind of a chain, isn't it?" Well, no and yes -- No, because its locally owned and operated, and yes, because they own several locations throughout this grand old city that we live in. So that being said, and without much further adieu, I'd like to go ahead and review Rooster's! My experience at Rooster's was a guy's night out for me - a collection of old friends from college (yes, I did go to college, believe it or not) that have been near and dear to me. Driving in my friend's Buffalo (A 2008 Dodge Charger), we all ran up and down Olentangy River Road looking for somewhere to go to reminisce about old times. That's how we decided to go to Rooster's -- after all, it is a fun and casual joint. We went on a Wednesday Evening -- so it wasn't too packed, and the place was alive with some action. The waitress was quick to seat us, and was able to get our drink orders and appetizers within a relatively quick amount of time. The place is as traditional of a sports bar, mixed with the Americana-theme restaurants as one can get. It definitely has the feel of a campus sports pub, but also has the feeling that it really is a local joint. What surprised me is unlike other wing places, it felt like it belonged in Columbus -- it belonged near campus, and that, in no way, is a bad thing. While the food was pretty bland, we didn't do ourselves the favor of going there to get wings -- we were on a appetizers-only trip. Now had I had the wings...I probably would have had a completely different story to tell you. But as it were, it was just a good place to get a couple beers and discuss what we had been doing all of our lives. I would like to go back to Roosters, if for no other reason, because it is, in fact, a fun and casual joint. When its quiet, and just serves as a good old fashioned sports bar, it really hits the spot for a place to hang out and have a little chicken. However, I'm not sure I'd want to see it when the Buckeyes are playing...as it definitely has the potential to get real crazy, real fast...
(3)Alice L.
One word: WINGS. The wings here are addicting and juicy and spicy and mouth-watering. I will fly back to Columbus just for their wings. Great collegiate atmosphere, hot (female) servers. LIke a sports bar with Hooters-style wings and service.
(3)Emma O.
Service. lackluster at best. Wings. Just meh. Now I completely understand that during a football game servers can't roll out the red carpet, but some things should just be basic. Came here with a party of four, and we were seated quickly enough. Unfortunately out waitress didn't follow the hostess' cue. While we were in the middle of ordering our food (after receiving out drinks in a relatively reasonable time frame....not that a chocolate milk and three waters is particularly challenging) our waitress cut us off mid sentence and disappeared. Really? Ten minutes later she materialized and began serving another table. Wow. When she finally made her way over to us (without a word of apology or explanatuin) and took out orders I realized the food was not really worth the wait. Naturally I got the wings and found them to be passable, above the quality of wings you get as a side with your pizza but nothing really to write home about.
(2)Steve H.
Chances are, you already know about Roosters. It is what it tries to be. Casual food, normal beer, lots of Tvs and decent wings. The menu is fine, but don't expect much. I have respect for places that don't try to be what they aren't. This place doesn't get 4 stars because it's great and has fantastic food, but because is as billed and as long as that is what you are looking for...you'll be rewarded.
(4)Caroline C.
Ok well it's a sports bar so you know you're not going to have a "fine dining" experience. The food is pretty much what you'd expect. Their BLT is really good. Rooster's is a fun place though - good atmosphere, nice mix of friendly people, plenty of people intent on getting wasted etc etc. It can get incredibly noisy at times (obviously). The pitchers are great value.
(3)Courtney C.
Dollar appetizers on Tuesday which is like the best deal ever. Especially when the app is Mac and Cheese bites hot/garlic traditional wings are to die for. And lemme tell you that the bleu cheese is by far the best I've ever had. I've been coming here for years and I won't quit. The only reason I gave it four stars was because I got food poisoning from the wings in 2007.
(4)Rarin J.
Wings night on Monday night. Wings were really tasty and much bigger than wings from Buffalo wild wing.
(5)Michael D.
Downgrading this location to two stars. The service has been lacking lately. The bathroom is DISGUSTING and ALWAYS filthy. The tables aren't always clean, and several times the glasses and silverware have been dirty. The New Albany location is much cleaner, but also has poor service. Buffalo Wings and Rings has better service and better food.
(2)Paul F.
I don't come down here all that often, but the food is just as good as my usual hangout, up on Morse Road. I don't care what you get it'll be good, except for the pizza. My usual are the wings (boneless with chipolte sauce) or the ham and swiss sub. And the soups are pretty good too,
(4)Vin R.
We attempted a saturday lunch with the kids here. With the assistance of two LeapPads, multiple TV's and lemonade we were able to eat lunch with a minimum of tantrums only occasionally having to manually put food in our 4 year old's mouth to get him to eat. The food is decent, reasonably priced and family friendly. The portions are huge--we had more than half our food leftover. The chicken tenders are at least whole chicken breasts, I think. I was able to eat one. I was highly impressed by the guy at the next table who pounded down five. #Thisiswhyyourfat
(3)Chris D.
When I stop at Rooster's, I'm not expecting much. However, I do expect to be treated in a friendly manner, and not as though I'm being done a favor by being waited on. I'd also expect the grilled chicken to contain just a little bit of moisture. Isn't the place named for a chicken? Drown it in ranch and cut your losses. Service and food exactly as I remembered it last time I was here, several years ago.
(1)Kendell M.
First time ever eating at Roosters. I ordered carry out which was a good idea because the place was PACKED at 1 o clock on a Friday. Thought this was a good sign. People have told me I have to go to a Roosters while in still in Columbus so I couldn't wait. Brought home my food, Mac n cheese bites, 10 traditional wings, 5 garlic and 5 chipotle. Wings are HUGE compared to a BW3 which is greatly appreciated. However, they have absolutely ZERO sauce on them. The chipotle was "third" or "fourth" hottest on the list and there was no kick to them whatsoever. Wings were tasted, if you like eating plain wings. Sauce is dry and they did not add enough. I know you can pay more for extra wet wings, but that shouldn't have to apply to a place that "specializes" in wings. Man n cheese bites were tasty but they were also very dry, I have had better. Overall giving an extra star for the size of the wings. Seems like a cool place to hang with friends and watch games, as long as you don't like sauce or are willing to pay a little extra.
(3)Jason W.
When I want wings, I go here. When I want grilled chicken, I go here. This is a fantastic casual joint. And by far the best Roosters I have been to. Happy hour? Check. Good food? Check. Friendly staff? Check.
(5)Leo S.
"A Fun, Casual Joint" - dumb slogan, but this place is the real deal. Roosters is a sports bar that focuses on wings much like Buffalo Wild Wings (B-Dubs), but this location does most things better than its competitor. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and super attentive; probably the best I've had in a while. The massive wings are incredible and cheaper than B-Dubs. Every bite has the perfect crunch that wings should have even with sauce. Their cooking method, however, leaves a little more to be desired as the center is a bit dry. While Roosters has fewer options than B-Dubs, their flavors are better on average. The Buffalo style sauces aren't going to kick you in the face, but they are also balance their salt and vinegar content well. The garlic sauce is the best I've had anywhere. It's a light sauce that's still explosive in flavor. Roosters puts emphasis on quality over quantity while being affordable, and for that reason it has quickly become my favorite sports bar in Columbus, Ohio.
(4)Matt W.
Really good BBQ wings and good pizza
(3)Steve O.
Wings are big and meaty. Sauce is weak. Servers seem depressed. Onion pedals seem like they are frozen.
(3)Stephanie B.
I went to Rooster's for a work party on a Saturday night and it was pretty fun. It was kinda empty and the space was plenty big enough for all of us to sit and comfortably enjoy ourselves. The inside was pretty nice - it was clean and spacious and had a good mix of tables and booths. The interior was like a typical bar with wood paneling and lots of neon signs. A casual joint, for sure. The bartenders were able to keep up well enough with our numerous drink and pitcher orders, and we ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and they were promptly brought out. Everything tasted pretty good, but it wasn't anything exceptional. We tried the hot wings and the deluxe nachos and potato skins and stuff like that. The prices were pretty low, but I wasn't paying, so I didn't really care about that at the time. We had to have been pretty loud, but they still treated us nicely and we didn't ever get the feeling that we weren't welcome. The bathrooms were very clean, and they also get a big plus for having a parking lot with plenty of parking. A lot of wing places around the area don't provide that. There's not really anything else in the area so bar hopping wouldn't really work around here. I ordered a few mixed drinks and everything tasted really good. I wasn't a huge fan of their wings because there wasn't a lot of options as far as the sauce goes, and the wings tasted pretty average. The food was all pretty greasy. But I did think that it would probably be a good place to go watch a football game - far enough away from campus so that it's easy to get a table and a good place for wings and beer. I remember that they also seemed to have a pretty good selection at the bar. The bartenders were also friendly. All in all it was a fun time and they really did a great job at accomodating our party of 20-30 people. I'm not sure how much notice they had that we were coming, but they didn't seem overwhelmed, even though there were other tables in the restaurant. It's a pretty cool place if you like greasy bar food!
(3)Hello K.
Some of the best wings I've ever had! And unlike most places, they are actually big and meaty and the sauce was delicious. I will say that they are a little milder than I expected, so order them a little hotter than you usually would. Update- on my last trip to Columbus, I ate at a Roosters every day! Their medium wings are amazing!!! I love the crunchy coating on them, way better than the ones at Hooters or Buffalo Wild Wings. I forget which Roosters I went to, but the waitresses were reeeaaally frickin' hot.
(5)Jason S.
Been here for lunch a handful of times. Its pretty standard wings, wings, and wings... and beer
(3)Michelle A.
Title: Provides emotional and physiological heartburn When I started working third shift, our crew went through a Roosters phase, as they both open late in the third shift "evening" and operate through our "lunch." Roosters provides take out. We've had no problems with their take out service. They've had to accommodate the orders of large groups of hungry factory workers with limited breaks (ergo, the food had to be ready on time for whoever was picking it up) and they never messed up any of our orders, and got our orders right, tweaks included. The food is mediocre... just regular, greasy wings and other American restaurant foods. Oddly enough, I don't recall seeing any desserts on their menu. It could be my memory though. The Super Killer sauce is delicious, hot and will give you heart burn. This is coming from an Indian--I know hot, and this is somewhere between Hot Summer Pavement and Bird Flu fever. You will enjoy the eating process but will likely experience a sense of remorse as an aftermath. I have dined in at Roosters. I have to say, if the wings don't make you sweat, the staff will. These are some phenomenally attractive women in little shorts. The service is painfully slow when you dine in, so having the uh, visual stimulation is nice in a distracting sort of way. But alas, I have had my orders ignored before. Apparently they do this to clear tables but I still find it insulting. Take-out: decent spot. Nothing spectacular. Dining in: I will say for what the establishment presents in terms of the ambiance, food and service you could probably go somewhere else with the same amount of cash and have a better time.
(2)Nan E.
food was good ,the staff suck most of them walking around chomping on gum ewwww.
(4)Abie E.
Good food, good people good vibes. Had a great waitress and the food was amazing especially the wings!
(4)Sarah B.
Service was good for a busy Sunday. Seating space was cramped with our party of 5. I tried the Red, white and blue salad (half) and was happy with it.
(3)Brandon Heights Yelper S.
This Roosters' location is my favorite place for wings in Columbus. The wings are big -- jumbo style. Good options for levels of hotness on sauce. Good additions: Mac & cheese bites; potato wedges. Decent beer prices, especially during happy hour.
(4)Kristen L.
I love me some Rooster's. Maybe I'm a bit fond of it because now we live in KC burbs where only Pizza Hut has wings. So EVERY time we come back to Columbus we visit Roosters and stuff our faces. We actually walked to this location from Fawcette Center on campus. We were tailgating and wanted a good lunch. It was a bit of a hike. But worth it. This is a great place to enjoy food while watching games. They have a lot of tvs and a variety of games on. The service is pretty friendly and competent. Their menu has a variety of items, so if wings aren't your thing, don't fear. You won't go hungry here. They have burgers, salads, nachos, chicken fingers, sandwiches, and some other stuff. I love that they toss the wings right before serving them. The wings are still crunchy and not soft from the sauce. If you get wings to go, we do a lot, then ask for them dry with the sauce on the side. Then when you get where you're going, dump them in a bowl, pour over the sauce and toss them in the bowl. This way you won't get soggy wings.
(4)Chris F.
This place is exactly what you are looking for if you want cheap American beer and awesome wings. Your best option is to mix one of the spicy sauces with the garlic sauce. Garlic makes everything better. Don't waste your time on the fries, just get more wings. And these wings aren't your Buffalo Wild Wings variety. They aren't lying when they say they are huge wings. Love this place. Going to come every time I visit Columbus.
